Full transcript
- 0:00All right, guys. Welcome back to another
- 0:01episode of Jacob's Adventures. Um we're
- 0:03currently away camping for the uh
- 0:05weekend at Scenic Rim Adventure Park.
- 0:07So, if you're actually in the
- 0:08the market for going away onto a place,
- 0:11um I highly recommend this
- 0:13pla- park. It's unreal. But, I thought
- 0:15while we're there and the car has been
- 0:17fully rebuilt now and it's back running
- 0:19and everything else and while it's all
- 0:21fully set up, I thought we'd do a bit of
- 0:22an episode and run down of
- 0:25what I have done to this and what's on
- 0:27it and yeah,
- 0:28it's a lot of Everyone has asked me a
- 0:30lot of questions what's on it. So, I
- 0:31thought let's do it clarify with one
- 0:33video and uh yeah. So, let's start up
- 0:36the front and we'll walk it right around
- 0:38and then jump into the cab um
- 0:40and then under the engine where the all
- 0:41the spicy parts are as well. So, let's
- 0:44walk in.
- 0:53Okay, so up the front. So, we're running
- 0:55just some custom-made uh blackout
- 0:57headlights. Got all the DRLs and all
- 0:59that fancy stuff that you want on it.
- 1:02LEDs, of course. No halogens around
- 1:04here, it's all crap. So, up the front we
- 1:06got them. We also have a set of spotties
- 1:09um on the bar as well as a light bar
- 1:12built into the bar with another light
- 1:14bar on top. Um you can tell I'm never
- 1:16scared of the dark with this. It shines
- 1:19up a lot off the road um
- 1:21when we get them yeah, working. So, up
- 1:25front we also just have a King's cheap
- 1:27ass uh 12,000 lb winch. Uh we threw it
- 1:30on when I was rebuilding it just just to
- 1:33see how much we use this, honestly. Um
- 1:35we've never used it at the moment and I
- 1:37thought for a few hundred bucks just
- 1:39throw it on, see how much we use it. We
- 1:41end up start using the winch a lot more
- 1:42than I expected. I'll throw on a better
- 1:44one like a runva or something else. But,
- 1:46for the moment I'm quite happy with just
- 1:47the cheap one. So, we got a K-on flip up
- 1:50back bracket for our number plate so we
- 1:52have our winch under here. Awesome. So,
- 1:54we are running a Ironman commercial bull
- 1:57bar. It came with the car and I quite
- 1:58liked the look of it, so I just left it
- 2:00to be honest and
- 2:01thought it does the trick. Um also we're
- 2:04running Uniden um UHF um comms through
- 2:07into the cab and just another whip
- 2:09because why not? Just for a bit of a
- 2:10factor of
- 2:12cool. It also show it helps with my
- 2:14height too. I just sort of see what I'm
- 2:16running. Um I also have the factory
- 2:19Toyota um
- 2:21visor on top as well. Um it's not
- 2:23finished painted yet, so please don't
- 2:25bag me out in the comments for that. It
- 2:27will get painted. I just have not had
- 2:29time.
- 2:30Um factory Toyota snorkel, but we'll go
- 2:33into that another day of what is
- 2:34happening with all this stuff.
- 2:36Awesome. So, let's um dive underneath
- 2:39and see what suspension we're running
- 2:41because
- 2:42if you haven't seen it already,
- 2:44we did an install video, but let's go
- 2:46underneath and show what we got.
- 2:48Awesome. So, everything under here is
- 2:49from Superior Engineering. Um we've
- 2:51bought their whole catalog out yeah,
- 2:53pretty much. Yes, not cheap at all. So,
- 2:55we're running 5-in coils from Superior
- 2:56Engineering. Um 7-in I think it's 7-in
- 2:59long travel shocks, so they're about a
- 3:0114-in or 15-in
- 3:0313-in or 14-in travel shock, I can't
- 3:05remember. The remote res 2.0 shocks. Um
- 3:07the adjustability in here is great.
- 3:10Um and yeah. So, what else are we
- 3:13running from Superior? We're running
- 3:14their adjustable panhard bracket um rod
- 3:17um to keep the alignment with all the
- 3:18big lift. Currently running just the
- 3:20factory um
- 3:23tie rod and drag links. Uh have not
- 3:25upgraded them yet. I've just I've
- 3:27changed the ends out, yes, but I haven't
- 3:29actually done
- 3:30the factory um like all that yet. It is
- 3:33on the list to plan to do. Um
- 3:36they didn't have them in stock when we
- 3:37were installing the suspension, so um
- 3:40I will change them out eventually. We're
- 3:42running just a tough terrain terrain
- 3:44tamer, I think it's called um steering
- 3:46dampener. At the moment, it works. Um I
- 3:50I have a brand new Superior dampener at
- 3:52home. I have not had time to put it in,
- 3:54but it is on the list to keep doing and
- 3:56we'll throw it in.
- 3:58Um, what else are we running? We're
- 3:59running six, I think it's 6-in extended
- 4:01brake lines. Um, highly needed with all
- 4:04the suspension travel that we have under
- 4:06this car.
- 4:07Um, we're also running superior
- 4:09engineering um,
- 4:11hyperflex arms.
- 4:12So, the most travel you can get out of
- 4:15this flex off the suspension.
- 4:17Um, what else? We have kept the sway bar
- 4:20in. Um, so we're running sway bars with
- 4:22their drop down brackets, extended bump
- 4:24stops, um,
- 4:26and everything you need with the
- 4:27superior kit at the front. Obviously,
- 4:30besides the um, the rods. Obviously, we
- 4:33haven't finished yet, but we'll keep
- 4:34going around and see what tires we're
- 4:35running.
- 4:37All right. So, nothing but the best
- 4:39again. Um, ROH rims.
- 4:42Um,
- 4:43honestly, I love the look of these rims.
- 4:45Um, kept them like that. Of course, our
- 4:47manual locking hubs being a cruiser. And
- 4:50Maxxis Razrs 35s. We're running some 35s
- 4:53on this car on a 5-in lift. It does look
- 4:56small these tires against the lift, but
- 4:59we've kept it like that. Um, maybe one
- 5:02day we might throw some cheeky 37s on,
- 5:03but another day's problem.
- 5:05Okay. So, we're running that. Um,
- 5:08fact, Iron Man bar likes rails into a
- 5:11side step as well. Kept the look of it.
- 5:13Came with the car and I quite like
- 5:15protection against my panels when we do
- 5:17hard wheel this. We don't do it all the
- 5:18time, but it's quite happy. Like, I am
- 5:21happy to do it. Um, but yeah. So, let's
- 5:24jump into the touring setup and we'll
- 5:26show you the big canopy setup.
- 5:30All right. So, moving to the touring
- 5:32setup and the I don't know, the heart of
- 5:34this whole kind of um, build and
- 5:36everything like that. So, we're going
- 5:38we're running the Kings 270 plus uh,
- 5:40free standing awning.
- 5:42Cheap marketplace buy. Honestly, it's
- 5:44probably the best thing I bought. 200
- 5:46bucks on marketplace. We bought one just
- 5:48to see how much we use and I
- 5:50if I liked it. Honestly, I love it. So,
- 5:53I will probably change it out to
- 5:55probably one of those Outback drawers
- 5:56or, you know, one of the better brands
- 5:57one one day. Um but, I love the the
- 6:01shade coverage it gets. As you can see,
- 6:03it wraps all the way around our car out
- 6:06the front. Honestly, perfect for uh
- 6:09touring and when it gets really hot in
- 6:10those those summer days. So, we use it
- 6:12all the time. Love that. Um also, we're
- 6:14running MSA uh towing mirrors.
- 6:17Great thing invention like, you know,
- 6:19does everything you need for towing. We
- 6:21don't tow much, but if we ever do need
- 6:23to tow, I have mirrors. Those factory
- 6:26ones are So, we threw them
- 6:28straight in the bin and put them on. Um
- 6:30also, running up the top Oz Best Steel
- 6:33roof rack um
- 6:34just there platform platform rack um
- 6:38clamps onto your gutter rails. Super
- 6:40easy um and I love it. I'm running some
- 6:43some MaxTrax up the top on the roof as
- 6:44well. We don't use it all the time.
- 6:46MaxTrax stay on the roof. Um
- 6:49it's just great to have in case I need
- 6:50to jump onto the roof, anything I need.
- 6:53Um
- 6:54but, honestly, yeah, we keep it there
- 6:56and like mount my light bar on the roof
- 6:58and yeah. So, that's what we have in
- 7:00there. All right. So, let's move into
- 7:02the full touring and the the canopy and
- 7:04touring package um what we have put. All
- 7:07right. So, every box that we're running
- 7:08is from Oz Z Tool Box Centre um
- 7:11amazing. They're
- 7:14I don't know how
- 7:15well they build these things, but they
- 7:17build it well because I can't break
- 7:19them. We obviously abuse this car like
- 7:21off-road some days um
- 7:23and they still withstand
- 7:26it's
- 7:27quality. All right. So, underneath we're
- 7:28running some boxes underneath both
- 7:30sides. Um this side we're just running,
- 7:32you know, just a heap of recovery gear
- 7:33and straps and everything you need for
- 7:36the winch and um
- 7:38quick um use of access when you're out
- 7:40four-wheel driving we have under here.
- 7:42So, we keep that all the time under
- 7:44here.
- 7:45All right. So, let's move into the full
- 7:47canopy um setup. This is like the whole
- 7:51heart of the
- 7:52um build and yeah, we'll show you
- 7:54around. So, worth mentioning, this
- 7:56canopy is from Aussie Toolboxes again.
- 7:59Um we're running the 1200 jack-off one.
- 8:01I don't think I'll ever jack it off
- 8:03there. I It's probably permanently put
- 8:05on here.
- 8:06Um
- 8:07but yeah, let's move into inside and
- 8:08what we're running. So, up the top here,
- 8:10we're running the KickAss um light, you
- 8:12know, the dimmable switchable light
- 8:15white and orange or amber if I think
- 8:17it's called. It's just on a switch here,
- 8:19so we use it all the time. Um keep the
- 8:21bugs away or when you need to shine a
- 8:23light down when you're doing something.
- 8:24So, running that. Um and then
- 8:27let's move into So, we're running a
- 8:29Kings um 60 L upright fridge.
- 8:32I don't believe they make them anymore,
- 8:33but um
- 8:35I bought this when I first bought the
- 8:36car and honestly flawless. I think we've
- 8:39had it for about 3 years now, 2 or 3
- 8:41years.
- 8:42Been perfect. Honestly, I've never had
- 8:44an issue with it.
- 8:45Um I can't fit any bigger fridge in as
- 8:48much as I would love to put one with a
- 8:49freezer in it. Um
- 8:51I can't fit it in with all in here. But,
- 8:54let's show you this because this is a
- 8:55pretty cool thing um from what we've
- 8:57made custom. All right.
- 9:00So, let's open this up. So, this is from
- 9:02KickAss. I think it's a 75 L fridge
- 9:05slide. It also comes slides out with a
- 9:07chopping board. So, we use this all the
- 9:08time to cut up all our food and prep um
- 9:11our food. Then we have gone I've gone to
- 9:14Bunnings and um I think it's a
- 9:16bench
- 9:18p- timber. I don't remember what I
- 9:20bought. It was like 50 bucks. I cut it
- 9:22to size and suit and slot it in here.
- 9:25And we use this as a table. Honestly,
- 9:27like perfect. We put We cook on here. Um
- 9:30so, we use like we run induction
- 9:33because, you know, why not and air
- 9:34fries. But, um
- 9:37we use this all the time. So, eventually
- 9:39I will go to um um and get food stain
- 9:41grade like um stainer, so you can
- 9:43actually put food on here. We don't ever
- 9:45do it. We just cook on like, you know,
- 9:47use it on here, but I will put it on
- 9:49here and do it just for the fun of it.
- 9:51So, we'll cut put this in.
- 9:54So, this is a really handy thing. It's
- 9:55all been custom made into the floor and
- 9:58um everything. I've built a top on top
- 10:00of this slide um some custom brackets on
- 10:03the back like on the side to hold this
- 10:05plate. This is obviously how I mount the
- 10:06fridge. All right, let's move into the
- 10:09power system of this canopy build um
- 10:12to be honest, it was the heart of the
- 10:14build and my main goal was to include
- 10:16all this into this whole build. So, we
- 10:19tried to install it and fit it every
- 10:21Yeah. All right, so we're running the
- 10:22Enerdrive Explorer um screen and switch
- 10:26panel. We use it uh all the time and I
- 10:29think it's great. Looks really good
- 10:31tucked up here.
- 10:32Um we have switches all along, you know,
- 10:34there's four rocker switches. We have
- 10:36one for here, another switch for some
- 10:38lights at the back and then the other
- 10:39side of the canopy, and some light
- 10:41underbody rock lights because who would
- 10:43not want to have rock lights when you're
- 10:45camping um and just
- 10:46shine up the camp. So, we're running
- 10:48that. We have a screen here. It shows us
- 10:50the wattages and power and everything
- 10:52else you want to see in the voltages,
- 10:54you know, everything like that. Some USB
- 10:56point um chargers and a 12-V cigarette
- 10:58lighter in here.
- 11:00Um
- 11:00but yeah, that's basically our
- 11:04if you want to call it power station
- 11:05where everything runs into. Um
- 11:08it is also through an app as well, so we
- 11:10can control it from here on an app on
- 11:12our phones to see the battery
- 11:14percentages and charging on the move and
- 11:16when you're sitting at camp and you
- 11:17can't be asked to walk over here. Um
- 11:19now, we're running an inverter. We're
- 11:21running from Renogy a 3,000-W uh
- 11:24inverter, the dual outlet um inverter.
- 11:27You can plug um power into it as well to
- 11:30then not obviously use your power. You
- 11:32you can just run it straight in and out.
- 11:34Don't know how it works, but never tried
- 11:36it, but it does work. Um
- 11:38So, yeah, we're running a 3,000 W
- 11:39inverter, but you're now going to ask
- 11:41me,
- 11:42"If you're running 3,000 W inverter,
- 11:43what battery are you running?" Great
- 11:45question, and we're running from Renogy
- 11:47again a massive 300 amps of lithium. I
- 11:50don't think we've ever killed this
- 11:52battery.
- 11:53Um it is huge, tucked in behind here all
- 11:56the way behind the fridge. You'll never
- 11:57see it again. Um but it's all hidden
- 11:59away. Everything's all fused into here.
- 12:01So, if I ever have an issue, I can fix
- 12:03it. But, never had an issue, and we run
- 12:05it all the time. I've never killed this.
- 12:07We've been away
- 12:09uh a couple weekends ago. We were
- 12:10watching the footy through projectors
- 12:12off this inverter, um charging second
- 12:15fridges, another fridge, running lights,
- 12:17cooking induction and air fryers cuz
- 12:19that's how we cook these days because
- 12:21it's
- 12:22the power system. Um and everything like
- 12:24that. Uh cooked the next morning and the
- 12:26next day before we even drove again, and
- 12:30I think we got it down to 40%. So, like
- 12:32that is a lot of power we drew, but um
- 12:35to watch the footy for about 5 hours
- 12:36straight. We watched two or three two
- 12:37games of the footy um off projectors and
- 12:40charging fridges and laptops and
- 12:41computers, you know, everything you want
- 12:43to charge off this thing we did. Um
- 12:45yeah, I honestly could not fault this at
- 12:48all. Um
- 12:49perfect setup, to be honest.
- 12:51So, we're running that. Um we're running
- 12:53What else are we running? An Enerdrive
- 12:5540-amp DC to DC charger. That's
- 12:57connected off to my alternator. So, as
- 12:58we're driving, we are pumping power back
- 13:00in to charge this big setup because
- 13:02honestly, it's nuts.
- 13:05Um what else?
- 13:06All right, Red Ryder um pantry slide.
- 13:08We're running one of them just from
- 13:09Supercheap, 300 bucks or whatever it is,
- 13:11but we store all of our food and
- 13:13everything in here. Um it works
- 13:16a treat to keep everything neatly
- 13:18organized when you're camping.
- 13:20Makes life easy. Down the side, we also
- 13:23have um just a bit of storage. I I'll in
- 13:25my
- 13:26rooftop
- 13:27the table a table, and anything else we
- 13:30can sort of fit down there we throw in
- 13:31there for ease of access, especially the
- 13:33rooftop ladder like I was saying. It's
- 13:35very easy to access when you first get
- 13:37to camp. If you're pulling up at night,
- 13:38you know exactly where your ladder is
- 13:39and you can set up tent and go to sleep
- 13:41if you need to. So, that's easy for
- 13:43that. Custom-made floor and built the
- 13:45whole canopy like everything myself. Um
- 13:48the floor has been fully fitted out like
- 13:49myself with um
- 13:52everything like that. Um we have some
- 13:54vinyl flooring on a wooden look. Um I
- 13:56think it looks very classy, to be
- 13:58honest. There's some few little things
- 14:00you don't look too closely off I have to
- 14:02finish off.
- 14:03But, it looks pretty neat and tidy. Um
- 14:06and I think we've done a pretty good job
- 14:07of it. So, let's keep walking around and
- 14:09see what else we have under here. So,
- 14:11obviously we are camping over there with
- 14:12our tables and everything else but like
- 14:14that. Spare tire on the back. Um
- 14:18we do need to change that out. It's not
- 14:19the same size as the other tires, but
- 14:22fix that another day. Tough terrain. Um
- 14:25bin bag, we use that all the time to
- 14:27keep your bin liner and your bin and
- 14:29everything in there. Um water supply.
- 14:31We're running just the Bunnings drums.
- 14:34To be honest, it's the cheapest and
- 14:35easiest way to carry our water. So, we
- 14:36just strap it to the tray and works out
- 14:38easily. Um now, what else? This is a new
- 14:42feature that we've only just put on. Um
- 14:44if you haven't seen it, go and check it
- 14:45on my socials. There will be reels and
- 14:47everything coming out with that. Um if
- 14:49not, they're already out. Um but, this
- 14:52is a clothesline from Van Line
- 14:53Australia. They're caravan company, so
- 14:56they put them on caravans and everything
- 14:58like that. However, they want to expand
- 15:00into the four-drive industry. So, we
- 15:02have been lucky enough to be given one
- 15:04of these and to try it out and give them
- 15:06feedback, which honestly, I can't fault
- 15:09um and find any faults with. So, if you
- 15:11guys are in the market for a clothesline
- 15:13while you're out camping, can mount
- 15:15anywhere, honestly. If you have rails or
- 15:16anywhere you want to screw something,
- 15:18perfect to mount one. Um only a couple
- 15:20of to hold it in. Comes with all the
- 15:22cutting templates and like the drilling
- 15:24templates, everything it comes with. But
- 15:26it just looks perfect when it folds up
- 15:28and neat and tidy around the back.
- 15:30Sweet. So, that is what um thing is.
- 15:32It's just factory standard It's not a
- 15:34factory tray, but it's a steel tray. Um
- 15:36you know, tail lights, everything else
- 15:38you need. We will eventually I am going
- 15:40to look at it in probably the next, you
- 15:42know, 6 months. I will cut some of this
- 15:44and put a big tray like the drawer under
- 15:48in here. Um from Aussie Toolboxes as
- 15:50well. Um just for some more storage
- 15:52because I am in need of some more
- 15:53storage. You might say, "Oh, there's
- 15:55plenty of storage." But there is,
- 15:56honestly, we are running out. So, I will
- 15:58throw another one on um
- 16:01like one in just so I have storage for
- 16:02tools and anything else I need to put in
- 16:05here.
- 16:06Um what else? Up top we're running just
- 16:08the Kings
- 16:09um
- 16:10Mark II rooftop tent, the hard shell
- 16:12one, I think. Another Marketplace buy.
- 16:14Um you can tell I just love my
- 16:16Marketplace. But we bought it when we
- 16:18are
- 16:19s- first bought the car and I just
- 16:21thought, "I need to throw the one on
- 16:22these on so I can get out to her." Yes,
- 16:24you can go with a swag, but uh I'm not
- 16:26like that. But anyways, running that um
- 16:28just to see how much I love them. And
- 16:30honestly, I love rooftop tents so much
- 16:32that I'll probably throw uh
- 16:33one of the better quality ones, probably
- 16:34the Outback Tourer ones on eventually.
- 16:36This one is very heavy, so I probably
- 16:37want to lighten it up a little bit the
- 16:39setup. But we keep all of our bedding up
- 16:41there and um
- 16:43I've never had any issues with it. Cool.
- 16:45On top of the awning uh or not the
- 16:47awning, sorry, the rooftop tent, I do
- 16:48want to mention as well. I think we're
- 16:50running a 200 W solar panel on top,
- 16:52which is linked into all my solar uh
- 16:54like the 12 V setup. So, we do keep a
- 16:57lot of
- 16:58power jumped in as well. I do want to
- 17:00throw another panel on top as well
- 17:02because it is 300 amps of lithium. I do
- 17:04want to keep pumping more in as we are
- 17:06not driving. But for the moment, I'm
- 17:08quite happy with it. Um what else? Out
- 17:10the back we have some just rock light
- 17:11like a rock light on the switches
- 17:14just to shine light out here. It's a
- 17:15white and orange one again.
- 17:17Um we don't use it all the time, but if
- 17:19you ever need it, stand out the back
- 17:20here on the tray. I don't know like for
- 17:22what reason. We use it all the time for
- 17:24that. We've got a camera at the back,
- 17:27but that's another thing when we jump
- 17:29into the cabin, I'll show you how that
- 17:30works.
- 17:31Um
- 17:32Aussie Toolboxes sent us a um
- 17:35local jerrycan holder as well, so we use
- 17:37that all the time as well, just a
- 17:38jerrycan holder.
- 17:39Um
- 17:40fuel when we're doing a longer trip. Um
- 17:43and then a lot of the time it's just
- 17:45firewood at the moment. We just throw
- 17:46that in there.
- 17:47So yeah, we've got our Kings rooftop
- 17:49tent on top here. Um
- 17:51Get up through here because it's
- 17:53impossible to get up with all the awning
- 17:56jumped around the side. But into the
- 17:58other side of the canopy, we are running
- 18:01um a lot of this is just storage to be
- 18:03honest. Um
- 18:04This is where we put our bags, our
- 18:06clothes. Compressors are in here. Um
- 18:09Anything we possibly need. We have an
- 18:11induction air fryer, kettle. You know
- 18:12that you can obviously see that we don't
- 18:14go camping lightly. We do run everything
- 18:17uh possible with that power system, but
- 18:18if you have it, you have it.
- 18:20Um
- 18:21Then we're running a custom-made drawer,
- 18:23a single drawer from Dunn and Watson.
- 18:26So guys, if you actually are after a
- 18:27custom drawer, I do recommend these guys
- 18:29a lot. Um it is to be honest, probably
- 18:32the perfect thing we could ever have put
- 18:34in here. So let let's open up and we'll
- 18:36see what we got in here, but to be
- 18:37honest, it's not anything fancy.
- 18:39In here, it's just a lot of it is just
- 18:41tools to be honest. Um a lot of it we
- 18:43just keep as tools. Um
- 18:44the induction goes in here and the um
- 18:46pots and pans, but
- 18:48to be honest, once like I was saying
- 18:49just before, we will throw that um under
- 18:51tray drawer in. All of these tools will
- 18:54go in there to free up a lot more space
- 18:55in here for clothes, cooking stuff,
- 18:58anything else I possibly need to throw
- 18:59in here, it will go in here so it's not
- 19:01so crowded in here cuz when we are fully
- 19:03packed, we are fully packed. But for the
- 19:05moment, it works well.
- 19:07Um
- 19:09What else?
- 19:10As we're saying, so from factory, it
- 19:13comes with 290 L twin um fuel tanks. So,
- 19:15we're running about 180 L of diesel.
- 19:17Don't ask me how I can afford this fuel
- 19:19with these fuel prices these days, but
- 19:21it is what it is. This is what we do
- 19:22when we enjoy this stuff. Um superior
- 19:254-in lift and shocks and everything else
- 19:27like that. So, it's running about a 5-in
- 19:29lift all around on the 35s. Um again,
- 19:32another toolbox from um Aussie Tool
- 19:34Boxes. Again, this is just a heap of
- 19:36straps and stuff what we need. It does
- 19:39work uh you know, it is what it is.
- 19:42Awesome. Keep walking around. So, we're
- 19:43running a hardcore shower tent. I think
- 19:45it's the blackout one. Um it's got
- 19:47inbuilt lighting and everything else
- 19:49like that. We do have a shower tent.
- 19:51Yes, we do have showers um when we are
- 19:53camping. That is not camping, but I know
- 19:55we do have it. We also do use it just to
- 19:57um
- 19:59get changed in, do whatever you needed
- 20:01do with it, but it works a treat to be
- 20:03honest and it works
- 20:04um
- 20:05fine. It's just off our rear fracking
- 20:07sits on the car all the time.
- 20:08So, this is how our shower supply works.
- 20:12Again, Bunnings water drums. To be
- 20:14honest, to be the cheapest and easiest
- 20:16thing to work possible, but they work. I
- 20:18think they're about 50 L all up. They
- 20:20will be
- 20:21We do want to throw an under tray tank
- 20:23in under this tray, probably about a 70
- 20:25L one and I'll pump all
- 20:27plumb up all the pumps. But, that's one
- 20:30day's problem, but it's on the list to
- 20:31do. As you know, building cars is never
- 20:33ending. But, for the moment we have
- 20:35about 50 L of water here and we just run
- 20:37that all the time. This is our shower
- 20:39contraption. We've only recently got
- 20:42this, but this is from BCF. It's a
- 20:43companion hot water shower. So, it's
- 20:45actually it runs off a lithium battery
- 20:48and just a very, very small gas bottle.
- 20:50Um I don't know about 10 bucks from BCF
- 20:52or Bunnings, wherever you want to buy
- 20:53it.
- 20:54But, we love it. I it keeps has hot
- 20:57water all the time when you want a hot
- 20:59water shower in the winter, especially
- 21:00when it's freezing cold. We run it all
- 21:02the time um to keep yourself warm at
- 21:05night or freshen up in the morning,
- 21:07whatever you want. But, um for I think
- 21:10500 bucks from Bunnings or BCF, can't go
- 21:12wrong with it. And yeah, that's
- 21:14basically what we're running for the
- 21:15shower setup. And yeah, um but yeah,
- 21:18let's jump into the cab and I'll show
- 21:20you what is in there and then we'll go
- 21:21into the engine bay where it gets very
- 21:23spicy. Let's go.
- 21:25All right, jumping into the cab now. Um
- 21:28this is basically
- 21:30what we have. It's a Land Cruiser,
- 21:31obviously, at the end of the day. But we
- 21:32do have a lot of cup holders. Have cup
- 21:34holders down the bottom, armrest at the
- 21:36top. We have fully blacked out this
- 21:38interior. Um
- 21:40Don't look too closely. We didn't finish
- 21:41it properly at all. But, fully blacked
- 21:44out the interior. The dash isn't done
- 21:45yet, but is on the list to do. We have
- 21:48from I think it's the Cruiser Store
- 21:50their door seals. So, these seals block
- 21:52out a lot of the sound. Knowing that
- 21:54it's a very loud car, V8s and everything
- 21:57else, these seals are a must. So, we've
- 22:00used that um
- 22:01for a while now.
- 22:02Um what else do we have in this cab? Um
- 22:05some Cruiser Store vents, just because
- 22:08it just looks cool in there.
- 22:10Um what else? The misses uh light. You
- 22:13know, she needs to do her makeup and
- 22:14everything else and crap. Anyways,
- 22:16inside, what else we're running? We're
- 22:18running a Kenwood head unit. So, Apple
- 22:22CarPlay and all that, you know, fancy
- 22:24stuff that you want in here. No, you
- 22:25can't watch YouTube on here. Yes, I want
- 22:27one that does, but no, we will not. It
- 22:30will do the trick for the moment. We're
- 22:31running a CarPlay and everything through
- 22:33here. Um Cruiser Store um
- 22:36once again, the gear shift
- 22:38extension and you know, the knobs and
- 22:39everything like that. Um I believe we're
- 22:42running
- 22:44I believe this is a
- 22:46I can't remember the brand of it. Um the
- 22:48center console whatever one it is, I
- 22:50can't remember. Thrown it in ages ago.
- 22:52Um once I find I will put up on the
- 22:54screen about which one it is. Um it's up
- 22:56here.
- 22:57But yeah, we're running that the center
- 22:58console um UHF mounted on there.
- 23:02Um
- 23:04fully blacked out the interior like I
- 23:06saying. Now here, this is where it gets
- 23:08cool. We have uh not factory seats
- 23:10anymore. We have um converted this from
- 23:12the bench seat to two bucket seats. So
- 23:14running Ford Falcon XR6 seats. Um to be
- 23:18honest, the most comfiest things you
- 23:20could ever throw in this car. Um if you
- 23:22know Land Cruisers, you know that those
- 23:23seats are not comfortable and they are
- 23:26rocks. So we've thrown some um
- 23:28comfortable um seats in here and for the
- 23:31longer drives, we really love having
- 23:33them in here. Um
- 23:34to be honest, it's probably the best
- 23:35thing I've ever thrown in this car.
- 23:37Um what else am I running in here? Yeah,
- 23:39heap of cup holders and everything like
- 23:40that. Um grab on code some custom hand
- 23:44grab grab handles. So we have them all
- 23:45around the car.
- 23:47Um
- 23:48And I just put in a neat fancy feature
- 23:50instead of those plastic crap ones. Um
- 23:52so that's basically in here. Um over on
- 23:55the driver's side, I do have
- 23:57a dial for my tune. Um but we will get
- 24:00into all that once we go into the engine
- 24:02bay cuz that is where you see all the
- 24:04spicy features. Um another wise, it's
- 24:07basically empty in here. You know, this
- 24:10is what it is. Cruisers are basic and
- 24:11boring in here. But um
- 24:14yeah, so that's what we have in the cab.
- 24:15There's nothing too much. Couple, you
- 24:17know, floor mats and everything like
- 24:18that. But um I think we've covered
- 24:21everything inside because there's not
- 24:22really much. Oh, I do remember, there is
- 24:25um a screen in here. This is connects up
- 24:28to a camera at the back. We do have a
- 24:30reverse camera as well. Um to constantly
- 24:33see at the back of the canopy because
- 24:34when you have the canopy on, you can't
- 24:35see out the back of your tray. Um and I
- 24:37do like to see as I'm driving even
- 24:40though you've got big mirrors and
- 24:41everything. But we do have one of these
- 24:43as well. Um
- 24:45connects up to the back of the canopy.
- 24:46So
- 24:47if you actually have a canopy and you
- 24:48can't see out the back of it and you're
- 24:50just relying on your mirrors,
- 24:51go to these. I think it's from
- 24:52Supercheap, a couple hundred bucks. Um
- 24:54wire it in, very easy to run. And uh
- 24:58yeah, that's what it is. But, anyways,
- 25:00let's pop the bonnet, and um
- 25:03yeah, and we're going to start
- 25:04underneath under the bay.
- 25:06All right, so we've popped this bonnet,
- 25:08um
- 25:09and let's show you the spicy engine bay.
- 25:12So, I was like I was mentioning at the
- 25:13start of the video, we're running the
- 25:14factory snorkel, but it is going in the
- 25:16bin in a very minute of time. The
- 25:18is air flow thing you can think of. So,
- 25:21that is going in the bin in within the
- 25:23next week or so. We have ordered a
- 25:25Radius Fabrication
- 25:26um for stainless snorkel. Won't show you
- 25:29any more about it and tell you anything
- 25:30more about it until we install it, but
- 25:32that is what is going on here. It will
- 25:33finish the build off quite nicely. But,
- 25:37engine bay. So, we've had a full
- 25:39rebuild. Um if you haven't looked on the
- 25:40socials, we have we did blow up the
- 25:43engine up on this thing. So, I have
- 25:46fully rebuilt this. We've got forged rod
- 25:48like internals, um fully rebuilt.
- 25:51Everything inside has been replaced. Um
- 25:54like I said, we're getting forged
- 25:55internals, um
- 25:57honestly, I every other part we've
- 26:00replaced.
- 26:01New alternators. We've gone with a 180
- 26:04amp high output alternator. Currently,
- 26:06it's not working properly. Um I need to
- 26:08finish off fix the wiring up, and
- 26:11it's very tedious things, but it does
- 26:12work at the moment. Um running that, um
- 26:15new radiators, um
- 26:17everything else in between.
- 26:19Um but, as you're all probably
- 26:22wondering, and you can see it right
- 26:23here, it's G Turbo. You can see what are
- 26:25we running.
- 26:26Great. So, this is where all of our
- 26:28power happens, and um this is where the
- 26:31magic happens. So, we have gone to town
- 26:33with G Turbo. We probably sold out their
- 26:34whole catalog. Um I think it was the
- 26:37just the below the Warrior package. We
- 26:39have some Warrior package um parts in
- 26:42here, but we also don't. But, anyways,
- 26:44we're running G Turbo's Gen 2 fan kit um
- 26:47to keep the intercooler all cool um with
- 26:50this power we're pushing. If you already
- 26:51can see, we're running this and you can
- 26:53probably guess we are running some
- 26:54power.
- 26:55So, we're running that inside
- 26:57um of this engine, we're running
- 26:59plus 100 injectors from G Turbo. These
- 27:02are huge. Um probably the biggest things
- 27:05you can run in They are probably one of
- 27:07the biggest injectors you can run. I've
- 27:08never I haven't seen anyone else run
- 27:09anything bigger.
- 27:11Um and you probably can get bigger, but
- 27:12I personally haven't seen any. But, plus
- 27:15100 injectors, G Turbo um
- 27:18Gen 2 fan kit. We're running the G Turbo
- 27:21airbox. So, it um seals is I think it's
- 27:24a double sealed airbox.
- 27:27So, as you know, the factory seal airbox
- 27:28ones seal crap, but this one is what it
- 27:31is. It's currently not connected because
- 27:32of the snorkel, but once we finish the
- 27:35um airbox like the snorkel, it will be
- 27:37fully connected and plumbed in as a
- 27:38snorkel and airbox. We're running the G
- 27:41Turbo power pipe um the stainless power
- 27:43pipe all the way down. I think it's a
- 27:454-in pipe all the way down.
- 27:47Um and then we're running the G Turbo
- 27:51turbo. Um so, we're running the G380
- 27:55Titan ball bearing um turbo.
- 27:58Um
- 27:59you I will put some clips up in this
- 28:01video about how it sounds, but honestly,
- 28:03it is mental. The sound of it, the turbo
- 28:06noise, and everything else. So, if you
- 28:08are in the market for some power
- 28:10packages, G Turbo are your go.
- 28:13Um to be honest, you can't fault what um
- 28:15we've put in here. Um
- 28:18but yeah, you're going to say, "Right,
- 28:19you've got all this, but has it been
- 28:20tuned?" Yes, of course it's been tuned.
- 28:22Um we have gone to GSL up in Toowoomba,
- 28:26and they have gone to town with their
- 28:28multi-map tuning. Um that's what's the
- 28:30dial in the cab for. We do have their
- 28:32multi-map on a switch in the cab. We
- 28:35have four tunes to play with. Um
- 28:38now, I don't have the numbers in front
- 28:39of me at the moment, but I believe the
- 28:41top tune made
- 28:43just under 400 horsepower and 1,100
- 28:46Newton meters of torque. So, as you can
- 28:48tell, it is powered. Like, it's got
- 28:50power and I think the lowest tune made
- 28:53300 horsepower um and 800 Newton-meters
- 28:56of torque. So, between 800 to 1,100
- 28:59Newton-meters of torque and 300 to 400
- 29:01horsepower, this is making
- 29:03um on 35s, I would um mention as well.
- 29:06So, it is making a lot off the 35s as
- 29:08well. Um it made 450 horsepower at the
- 29:12get like at the flywheel. Um but, you
- 29:14lose percentages once you get through
- 29:15the diffs and everything else. But, that
- 29:18is basically the engine bay. Um we are
- 29:21pushing a lot of power out of this um
- 29:23engine. Um
- 29:24we have the capacity with all this
- 29:26forged internals and everything else you
- 29:28want to build onto this car. But, um
- 29:30yeah, that's what we're running. But,
- 29:31let's show you the exhaust because this
- 29:33is pretty cool as well.
- 29:34Um
- 29:35this has been custom-made from a guy um
- 29:37J C J R C Fabrication. He's in Brisbane.
- 29:40So, if you ever need something, hit up
- 29:42him. I'll put up his link in the video
- 29:43as well. But, um he has custom-built an
- 29:47uh exhaust. So, it comes straight off
- 29:49our turbo. It's a 4-in um exhaust
- 29:51straight off the turbo.
- 29:53Um and straight in and it dumps straight
- 29:55at your cab. Like, right down the bottom
- 29:57here it dumps. Um to be honest, it's one
- 29:59of the loudest things
- 30:00um
- 30:01you can possibly have, but it works and
- 30:04I love it, to be honest. Like, the sound
- 30:06of a V8 Cruiser on a 4-in dump works a
- 30:09treat and I don't think we could ever
- 30:10fault it. But, I believe that is all um
- 30:14we're running on this car. Um
- 30:16you can obviously tell there's a lot of
- 30:18money been put into this engine bay. Um
- 30:21but, to run 400 horsepower is pretty
- 30:23nuts. Um
- 30:24we don't run it all the time. I I think
- 30:26I stick on about the 300 horsepower
- 30:28mark. 400 um is fun to play with, but
- 30:32it's just diff breaking and
- 30:33you know the goals, but um it's what it
- 30:35is.
- 30:36Um
- 30:37so, basically, that's the end of the
- 30:39video realistically. Um
- 30:41there's not much more to show on here.
- 30:42Um as I said, there are some things that
- 30:45you I want to finish off. So, snorkel to
- 30:47come,
- 30:48um some more boxes under the tray, a
- 30:50water tank under the tray, um
- 30:53eventually swap out all this stuff, but
- 30:54for the moment, I'm pretty happy with
- 30:56everything. Um
- 30:58and yeah, the car performs flawlessly
- 31:00and
- 31:01since we've gotten it back, um it was
- 31:04very unfortunate on how we break this.
- 31:05There is a video will be coming out as
- 31:07well about this whole rebuild, like of
- 31:09what happened. I will sit down and and
- 31:11do a sit down video about what broke on
- 31:13this car.
- 31:14Um
- 31:15but if you want to see that one, drop
- 31:17the comments below and I will release
- 31:18it. It's just It is coming. Um sorry,
- 31:21I'm getting to it. But that is pretty
- 31:23much the episode finished and I thought
