Full transcript
- 0:00Over the past 30 days, I've been putting
- 0:02out video after video on how to grow on
- 0:04LinkedIn. How to put out good posts on
- 0:06LinkedIn, how to go viral on LinkedIn,
- 0:08how to engage the leads on LinkedIn, how
- 0:10to win clients on LinkedIn, and
- 0:12ultimately how to become a key person of
- 0:14influence on LinkedIn. Buried inside all
- 0:17of those videos, amongst lots of
- 0:18ramblings, are a few crucial tips and
- 0:21tricks that I've learned from my years
- 0:23and years of growing LinkedIn profiles.
- 0:25Not just my own LinkedIn profile, but
- 0:27that of many, many of my clients, some
- 0:29of which are the biggest LinkedIn
- 0:31influencers out there. In this video,
- 0:33I've done the hard work for you and
- 0:35hand-picked my five favorite tips to
- 0:37help you grow on LinkedIn. These are
- 0:39actually more than tips. They're almost
- 0:41like hacks and cheat codes to rapidly
- 0:44accelerate your growth and success on
- 0:46the platform. Basically, of everything
- 0:48I've ever learned on LinkedIn, these are
- 0:49my five favorite. And they're the exact
- 0:52tips and tricks I've used to turn my
- 0:54client profiles into lead-generating
- 0:56machines. For example, this is a recent
- 0:58client we took on in April that had 200
- 1:01followers when they first came to us.
- 1:02They now sit at over 20,000 followers on
- 1:05LinkedIn. Let's get into my five
- 1:07favorite tips you can implement today
- 1:10and get an instant boost to your
- 1:11LinkedIn profile right now and going
- 1:13forwards. Growth hack number one is to
- 1:16use voice notes. Everyone, and I mean
- 1:19everyone, sends text DMs on LinkedIn. In
- 1:21fact, go to your own LinkedIn inbox
- 1:23right now and try and see when the last
- 1:25voice message was that you received. I
- 1:27guarantee you it was months and months
- 1:29ago because nobody's doing it. Your
- 1:31prospect, your ICP prospect that you're
- 1:33trying to sell to, has received 50 DM
- 1:36messages on LinkedIn today alone. You
- 1:39sending one more of those things is
- 1:40going to do nothing. Zero impact, zero
- 1:43disruption in the inbox, zero reply.
- 1:46What can you do? You can break that
- 1:47pattern by sending a voice note. Now, in
- 1:50their inbox is going to be your message
- 1:52that stands out because it's different
- 1:53to every other one they received that
- 1:55day. It's disruptive, it's
- 1:56pattern-breaking, and I guarantee you
- 1:58it's going to drive enough curiosity for
- 2:00them to think, "Oh, that's strange. I
- 2:02wonder what they're saying in that voice
- 2:03note." for them to click play. Suddenly,
- 2:06they're hearing you out of all the 50
- 2:08other people in their inbox. And that's
- 2:10the other reason why I love voice notes
- 2:12because when they do click that play
- 2:13button and they start listening, you
- 2:15have a much higher potential to win them
- 2:17over than a text DM. Because in a voice
- 2:19note, you can get more across. And I
- 2:21don't just mean more language and
- 2:22messaging, but that is also true. But I
- 2:24also mean your personality. Suddenly,
- 2:26you're not just a faceless profile
- 2:27sending them a cold DM, but you're a
- 2:29human, a person, someone they can relate
- 2:31to. Whatever your message is, it's going
- 2:34to land 10 times better through a voice
- 2:36note than a cold DM message. So, when
- 2:38you can stand out in someone's inbox and
- 2:41have a message that's going to resonate
- 2:42more, why would you do anything else?
- 2:44Start using voice notes today. Growth
- 2:46hack number two, and this might surprise
- 2:48you because it's probably different
- 2:50advice to what you're doing right now,
- 2:51is to stop using connection request
- 2:53notes. Because what's crazy is as soon
- 2:55as you attach a note to your connection
- 2:57request, the acceptance rate is going to
- 2:59plummet. Why? Because the second they
- 3:01see that message, they assume you're
- 3:03trying to sell them something. Even if
- 3:04it's just a short intro in the
- 3:05connection request note, it seems like
- 3:07you have an ulterior motive. And when
- 3:09you leave the note off, something very
- 3:10interesting happens. Curiosity takes
- 3:13over. There's 100 possible reasons now
- 3:15that you could be connecting with them.
- 3:16Maybe you have a job offer for them.
- 3:17Maybe you have a prospect you're handing
- 3:19over. Maybe you met them at a conference
- 3:20sometime and you want to reach out to
- 3:22them. Maybe you have a mutual connection
- 3:24you want to speak about. These are all
- 3:25reasons why they might accept you rather
- 3:27than thinking that you're trying to sell
- 3:29them something. So, what do they do?
- 3:30They accept. And then, when you're in
- 3:32their inbox, you can send that voice
- 3:34note or send that DM that's going to be
- 3:35more in-depth. And that's when you want
- 3:37them to judge if they want to do
- 3:38business with you or not. Don't make
- 3:40them make that assumption from a short
- 3:41connection request note. You're doing
- 3:43yourself a disservice by disqualifying
- 3:45yourself too early. Now, just a quick
- 3:47one before I get into the third growth
- 3:49hack of this video. If you are trying to
- 3:51grow on LinkedIn and you're enjoying
- 3:52these videos, please do like and
- 3:54subscribe. Like I mentioned earlier,
- 3:55this is just one video I'm doing in a
- 3:57massive series on LinkedIn. It's
- 3:59guaranteed to help you grow on LinkedIn
- 4:01and start winning clients on LinkedIn.
- 4:03Join the community, join the movement,
- 4:05subscribe, and enjoy a lot of good
- 4:07videos to come. Let's get back to the
- 4:08video. Growth hack number three is my
- 4:10favorite, and it's a tiny shift to the
- 4:13settings of your LinkedIn profile that
- 4:14will absolutely transform the way people
- 4:17perceive you as a profile on LinkedIn.
- 4:20The change is to switch your profile
- 4:22from showing connections to showing
- 4:23those connections as followers. Yes, you
- 4:26can do that. Yes, it's one toggle in the
- 4:28settings. Yes, it is an absolute
- 4:30game-changer. Why would you want to
- 4:31display your connections as followers
- 4:33instead of connections? One word,
- 4:35authority. Let's say you have 500 or
- 4:381,000 connections on your LinkedIn
- 4:40profile already. In one click, you can
- 4:42now have 1,000 people following your
- 4:44LinkedIn profile, or at least appear
- 4:46like they're following your LinkedIn
- 4:47profile. Suddenly, when a prospect
- 4:49reaches your LinkedIn profile, you have
- 4:511,000 followers. That's going to make
- 4:53whatever you're trying to achieve on
- 4:54LinkedIn, whether it's hiring someone,
- 4:56signing a prospect, retaining a client,
- 4:58or building a partnership with another
- 5:00company, going to make that a lot, lot
- 5:02easier because they see you as an
- 5:03authority, someone worth speaking to,
- 5:05someone who's having success. It's one
- 5:07setting that is going to absolutely
- 5:09change everything. Now, a little sub-tip
- 5:11attached to that is I want you to max
- 5:13out your connections every single week.
- 5:15You should be able to do about 200 new
- 5:16connections every week. You can either
- 5:18do this manually or you you can use a
- 5:20tool like HeyReach. It's very safe. It's
- 5:22my preferred tech to use for this. I
- 5:24also have a link in the description
- 5:26where you can get a free trial with
- 5:27HeyReach, and they'll send these
- 5:28connections on your behalf to make sure
- 5:30you max out every single week. What's
- 5:32that going to do? Well, that's going to
- 5:33mean your follower count keeps growing
- 5:34and growing and growing, and with it,
- 5:36your authority does, too. I've now got
- 5:38over 11,000 followers on LinkedIn using
- 5:41this exact method. Growth hack number
- 5:43four is to source your leads on LinkedIn
- 5:45outside of Sales Navigator. I know Sales
- 5:48Navigator is the go-to for most people
- 5:50on LinkedIn because it's attached to the
- 5:52LinkedIn brand, but there are a lot,
- 5:54lot, lot better ways to get leads on
- 5:56LinkedIn. Why? Because everyone uses
- 5:58Sales Nav, which means you're fishing in
- 6:00the same pond as everyone else. So, that
- 6:02lead you're reaching out to has already
- 6:03been hammered 15 times by other people
- 6:06today alone. Also, it's a bit boring and
- 6:08it's a bit static. Instead, I want you
- 6:10to find leads where no one else is
- 6:11looking. There are a lot of clever ways
- 6:13you can do this. You can scrape the
- 6:15followers of your competitors on
- 6:16LinkedIn and start targeting them
- 6:18because if they're following your
- 6:19competitor profiles, they're probably a
- 6:20good fit for your business, too. Maybe
- 6:22you can scrape people that engage with
- 6:24LinkedIn influencers in your industry.
- 6:25For example, if you're an SEO company
- 6:27and there are a thousand people liking
- 6:29this post on how to grow an SEO, there's
- 6:31a good chance they have that need that
- 6:33you can solve. So, reach out to the
- 6:35people that liked that post. You can
- 6:36also look at intent signals. So, has a
- 6:38company just received a new round of
- 6:40funding? Have they just hired for this
- 6:41new job role? There are plenty of things
- 6:43they can do as a company that's going to
- 6:45make them a very good fit for your
- 6:46business. That should be an intent
- 6:48signal that you're tracking and reaching
- 6:49out to addressing that problem they
- 6:51have. Finally, remember there are lots
- 6:53of groups, events, and communities on
- 6:55LinkedIn that largely stay untapped. Tap
- 6:58into those groups, join them, and when
- 6:59someone needs help or additional
- 7:01assistance, that's where you sell your
- 7:03service. I actually did a full video on
- 7:05how to do each one of these four
- 7:06tactics. If you think they're a good
- 7:07idea but you don't know how to implement
- 7:08them, quickly go and give that video
- 7:10watch and it will become second nature.
- 7:11Now, quick pause here. We've talked a
- 7:13lot about LinkedIn, how to grow on
- 7:14LinkedIn, and a massive, massive part of
- 7:16that is posting. You need to get content
- 7:19out there. Now, as a thank you for you
- 7:21watching this video, I'd like to offer
- 7:22you a free week of content. What does
- 7:24that mean? We'll take over your social
- 7:26channels for one week. It's fine whether
- 7:28you're starting from zero or you already
- 7:29have something in progress that's going
- 7:31out there on your social channels. We'll
- 7:32take it over for a week. We'll put out
- 7:34one long-form video for you, just like
- 7:36this, and we'll put out some shorts and
- 7:38some posts on your LinkedIn profile.
- 7:40It's a great way to get started and test
- 7:42if, you know, building a personal brand
- 7:44could bear fruit for your business. If
- 7:46you're interested, please use the link
- 7:47in the description and we can get
- 7:48started. We only have so many slots, so
- 7:51please do sign up before they all run
- 7:52out. Let's go back to the vid. The final
- 7:54one I want to leave you with, growth
- 7:56hack five, is be as personal as
- 7:58possible. And this might be the most
- 8:00important one of them all. It's very
- 8:02interesting what I see on LinkedIn in
- 8:032026 because it is miles and miles away
- 8:06from where it was a few years ago. A few
- 8:08years ago, LinkedIn was a very informal
- 8:09place of virtue signaling. Who can use
- 8:12the best language and marketing lingo
- 8:14wins. It's now completely different.
- 8:16Rather than the over corporate language,
- 8:19formal language, today personal wins
- 8:22every single time. The way I like to
- 8:24think about it is you should communicate
- 8:25on LinkedIn, and I mean, when I say
- 8:27communicate, I mean in posts, in DMs,
- 8:29and in voice notes. Across the board,
- 8:32you should communicate on LinkedIn just
- 8:34as you would with friends or family. Be
- 8:36personal, use slang, don't worry about
- 8:38using, you know, the perfect English.
- 8:40Particularly in the world of AI, this
- 8:42resonates more than ever. When
- 8:44everyone's writing perfectly scripted
- 8:46posts that sound all robotic, try and be
- 8:48human, try and be personal. That is
- 8:51what's going to resonate. There you have
- 8:52it. Those are my five favorite LinkedIn
- 8:55growth hacks all in one place. Use voice
- 8:57notes, drop the connection request
- 8:59notes, switch your profile to show
- 9:01followers instead of connections to
- 9:03build that profile authority, source
- 9:05your leads outside of Sales Navigator,
- 9:06be clever with the sourcing, and
- 9:08finally, personal always wins. Whatever
- 9:11you're writing on LinkedIn, write like a
- 9:12human. I hope you find them useful. My
- 9:14advice to you would be pick one or two
- 9:15of those five and start implementing
- 9:17them today and slowly weave in the
- 9:18others as you go. I wish when I was
- 9:20first starting out on LinkedIn, I knew
- 9:22these five tips. So, hopefully it's
- 9:23going to be useful for you if you're a
- 9:24little bit earlier in your journey than
- 9:26I am. Remember, if you want that free
- 9:27week of content, it's linked in the
- 9:29description. As always, big, big thank
- 9:31you for watching the video. I really am
- 9:32trying to grow this LinkedIn community,
- 9:34so it It a lot that you watched. If you
- 9:36haven't already, please do subscribe.
- 9:38Lots more exciting videos to come.
- 9:39Thanks and see you on the next one.
