2. 0:01got some breaking news out of williamson
3. 0:03county michael morton a man in prison
4. 0:05for 25 years for killing his wife in
5. 0:08their round rock home will be released
6. 0:11from jail immediately this comes after
7. 0:13some bombshell DNA test results in
8. 0:16August that showed there was unknown DNA
9. 0:19on a bloody bandana close to the Morton
10. 0:22crime scene that did not match Michael
11. 0:24Morton that DNA mixed with the blood of
12. 0:28his wife Christine Morton I want to give
13. 0:30you some information now current
14. 0:32district attorney John Bradley just a
15. 0:35few moments ago in court said that the
16. 0:37conviction in the Morton case that will
17. 0:39be vacated and that the DNA from from
18. 0:44the kit from the bandana rather matches
19. 0:46DNA at a cold-case in Travis County so
20. 0:50an unsolved murder in Travis County we
21. 0:53know now is connected to the Morton case
22. 0:56John Bradley said that when this case
23. 0:58was decided and these are his words the
24. 1:00ink was barely dry on his license he
25. 1:03says that the prosecutors job is to see
26. 1:06justice done and that is what he is
27. 1:08trying to do here today so all of this
28. 1:11still developing in this courtroom right
29. 1:13now as we speak
30. 1:15we know Michael Morton will be released
31. 1:17from jail immediately obviously there's
32. 1:20some paperwork and things that have to
33. 1:21happen but big news here for him today
34. 1:24we're expecting to learn more about
35. 1:26what's going to happen from here on out
36. 1:27in court and we're gonna bring that to
37. 1:29you just as soon as we know it but once
38. 1:31again Michael Morton in prison 25 years
39. 1:34for killing his wife will be released
