1. 0:00he has been a free man for six months
2. 0:02after 25 years in prison for killing his
3. 0:05wife but DNA said michael morton free
4. 0:08and proved he was innocent tonight he's
5. 0:10talking one-on-one with our shannon
6. 0:12wolfson about his time in prison when he
7. 0:15thinks about the justice system that put
8. 0:16him there and exactly how he's trying to
9. 0:19make sure this doesn't happen to anyone
10. 0:20else it was only in hindsight that I
11. 0:24could see that and confirmed by the
12. 0:26sheriff's eventual testimony that there
13. 0:28was never any other suspect except me is
14. 0:30there something you saw or anything in
15. 0:35prison that really just stands out for
16. 0:40you that you'll you'll never forget on
17. 0:44my very first day in back then the place
18. 0:49that we received our boots you came in
19. 0:52you get stripped Nick and you get
20. 0:53searched they give you some boxers me
21. 0:55and pick up some boots and there was a
22. 0:57guy in front of me in line getting his
23. 0:58boots and I wasn't doing a lot of talk
24. 1:02and I was doing a lot of watching and I
25. 1:05counted 13 stab wounds in this guy's
26. 1:08back scars I realized that this place is
27. 1:12real serious these people aren't playing
28. 1:14around we ever attacked I got it fights
29. 1:18but I was never attacked like that I was
30. 1:20no one ever jumped on me to stab me tell
31. 1:21me about
32. 1:23Deborah Baker's family we've been very
33. 1:25supportive of you I cannot imagine what
34. 1:29they're going through I have a lot of
35. 1:30answers to my questions um but they have
36. 1:35the extra burden of knowing
37. 1:39that had I not been framed like this
38. 1:43their mother their wife you know their
39. 1:46sister no she would be alive today if if
40. 1:49the right thing it had been done they
41. 1:52may have actually caught Norwood
42. 1:57prevented their mother's murder I have
43. 1:59to go back you said framed you feel like
44. 2:02you were framed yes um
45. 2:07it's
46. 2:09a different word and a different
47. 2:11connotation but when you keep back
48. 2:15information evidence things that would
49. 2:19show your innocence um
50. 2:24I'm not sure what other
51. 2:28what are the word to use really I think
52. 2:30it's appropriate um
53. 2:34mocking with the time of death where
54. 2:36they did
55. 2:39keeping the information about the van
56. 2:42the funny things in the neighborhood the
57. 2:44credit card Eric's recitation of what he
58. 2:48saw um all that stuff it's is tantamount
59. 2:52to being framed explain to me how and
60. 2:55when you will be satisfied that someone
61. 2:59has been held accountable for what
62. 3:01happened to you you've heard me say i
63. 3:03don't want Kent Anderson's head on a
64. 3:04stick but what I'm looking for or what I
65. 3:07would hope to comes out of this at the
66. 3:09end is something that prevents it from
67. 3:12happening to anybody else and michael
68. 3:15morton says he will do that by crusading
69. 3:17for more accountability for prosecutors
70. 3:19in Texas including punishments like
71. 3:21fines and removal of their law licenses
72. 3:24when they're proven to have committed
73. 3:26some kind of wrong doing tonight at ten
74. 3:28on kxan and at nine on the CW michael
75. 3:30morton on his reunion with his son and
76. 3:33the road back to repairing that
77. 3:34relationship his new role is a
78. 3:36grandfather and what's next for him in
79. 3:38his life that's coming up tonight Robert
80. 3:40and the prime suspect in the murder of
81. 3:43christine morton was in court this
82. 3:44morning mark allen norwood was charged
83. 3:47late last year in the 1986 murder
84. 3:49Morton's husband Michael spent more than
85. 3:51two decades in prison as we just heard
86. 3:53wrongfully convicted of his wife's
87. 3:55murder today was pre-trial hearing for
88. 3:57norwood which was continued until May
89. 4:00fifteenth
