1. 0:00there yeah Lauren was my neighbor um
2. 0:02we're just trying to find out where she
3. 0:04is at this point I mean no one has seen
4. 0:07her since Saturday I mean the last time
5. 0:10anyone heard from her was an email that
6. 0:11she sent out and no one's heard from her
7. 0:15since did you see her hang out with
8. 0:17anyone at the time anything like that I
9. 0:20no no no one has seen her sincerity I
10. 0:23haven't seen anything I mean I've always
11. 0:25hear noise outside but it's just people
12. 0:27walking by pretty much and you she just
13. 0:31recently graduated from Mercer yeah she
14. 0:34and I were we were both JD students um
15. 0:37we graduated back in
16. 0:39May what kind of person was she I mean
17. 0:42how did you what did you see I she's as
18. 0:43nice as can be I mean very personable
19. 0:46very much people person do you know
20. 0:48anybody that any enemies she might have
21. 0:50had somebody that might want to hurt her
22. 0:51no I we're we don't know where she is I
23. 0:55mean the only thing we can think is that
24. 0:57maybe she went out running and someone
25. 0:59snatched her
26. 1:00I go I we went at we went over one of
27. 1:03our friends had a key we went inside and
28. 1:06tried to see if there was anything a
29. 1:08Miss but I mean she had a door jam that
30. 1:11was sitting right by it so there was no
31. 1:14sign that anyone broke in I mean the
32. 1:17door was locked when everyone got here I
33. 1:20we we just don't know where she is what
34. 1:22about um in the like the parking lot
35. 1:24area I know they've been doing a lot of
36. 1:26I think that's where they had recovered
37. 1:28the body or whatever they recovered from
38. 1:30there had you heard had you seen
39. 1:32anything
40. 1:35there had you seen anything there I I
41. 1:38mean we don't know if this is the same
42. 1:39person you know what I mean like they
43. 1:41took out a body there earlier we don't
44. 1:42know if this the same person or not
45. 1:44that's how we're trying to ask people if
46. 1:45they know who live

51. 2:00last Thursday mhm a week ago uh to you
52. 2:04did he seem genuinely upset with the
53. 2:05fact that the body had been discovered
54. 2:07yeah definitely I mean his expression as
55. 2:09you see in the beginning of the
56. 2:10interview he's very forthcoming with
57. 2:11information you know he's calm at this
58. 2:13point he only thinks that she's missing
59. 2:14so I guess he's you know just offering
60. 2:16information anything that he can do to
61. 2:17help and then as soon as I mentioned the
62. 2:19body which I assumed that he already
63. 2:21knew since everyone had been out there
64. 2:22since 10:00 a.m. and had been all over
65. 2:23the news all over the web and I guess he
66. 2:25had been pulled in for questioning and
67. 2:27police I don't know what police have
68. 2:28told him police had told him at that
69. 2:30time so I guess no one had informed him
70. 2:32that a body was recovered all right this
71. 2:34second video what will we see okay so
72. 2:36the second video is um he actually gets
73. 2:38pulled into the AT&T building next door
74. 2:40one of the employees brought him in I
75. 2:42guess to just relax for a couple minutes
76. 2:43after he found out about the news and um
77. 2:45then he comes back out maybe 20 minutes
78. 2:48later and I asked him if he was okay and
79. 2:51he came up to me and began talking again
80. 2:53so at this point our camera started
81. 2:54rolling again and he seemed receptive to
82. 2:56it he was not you know he was not upset
83. 2:58saying that he didn't want to talk so he
84. 3:00just started talking again all right

88. 3:07bar I no one had seen her since Saturday
89. 3:12because I we all just is not whole lot
90. 3:16of interaction unless we're doing
91. 3:17classes and she was doing the online
92. 3:20version of it you all studied together
93. 3:22though I no we were in this there's two
94. 3:26different people that there's two
95. 3:28companies that provide it Captain
96. 3:30provides it and Barbie provides it I
97. 3:32signed up with Barbie and I've been
98. 3:34doing the lectures that they have in the
99. 3:36mornings she was doing the Kaplan online
100. 3:39so I hardly ever saw her I I would see
101. 3:44her like go out running but I what time
102. 3:46would you go out running I mean I don't
103. 3:49even know when it at night or morning I
104. 3:51I saw like midday a couple weeks ago Ian
105. 3:55that was the last time I saw her was
106. 3:58coming back from the bar on the main
107. 4:00campus because we got moved over there
108. 4:03for a week or two but she normally would
109. 4:05run that
110. 4:06was she she ran all the time I mean she
111. 4:10she had a group that she would go
112. 4:11running with I me
113. 4:15I I don't know anyone that would want to
114. 4:17hurt her she was as nice person as there
115. 4:27is was she moving so did you know
116. 4:30anything about her yeah yeah she she was
117. 4:32going to be moving
118. 4:34out today she was supposed to move out
119. 4:37today because someone else was going to
120. 4:39be moving into her apartment new

123. 4:48from is she from Mary Maryland yeah
124. 4:50she's from up in Maryland put this on

129. 5:01she was from up in Maryland I all her
130. 5:03family was there as far as I know I mean

134. 5:20this she didn't hear anything
135. 5:26no yeah I heard something maybe I could
136. 5:31help okay don't

139. 5:39drink do you know if a bunch of her
140. 5:41friends are getting together or anything
141. 5:44I that's how I found out that she was
142. 5:46missing
143. 5:48we a bunch of her friends came over
144. 5:52yesterday night around midnight and they
145. 5:56they couldn't they hadn't seen her since
146. 5:58Saturday so they were trying to find
147. 5:59find out where she was so they were
148. 6:01knocking on neighbor doors and stuff I
149. 6:03no they they went in they had a key to
150. 6:05her apartment and they checked around
151. 6:08didn't see anything out of place I it
152. 6:10was locked when everyone got there that
153. 6:13was midnight yeah around midnight and
154. 6:15then we went we went over to law school
155. 6:17see if maybe she was over in the library
156. 6:20studying or something and we we looked
157. 6:22up in the study rooms on the third floor
158. 6:25and there was no one there and we came
159. 6:29back we looked around and just trying to
160. 6:31find any anything to figure out where
161. 6:33she was she doesn't have any family in
162. 6:36Georgia I I don't know I as far as I
163. 6:39know every all of her family is from in
164. 6:42Maryland have you met her family before
165. 6:45I there there was one time that I met
166. 6:47them they came down first year she she
167. 6:50had a little dog a little brown dog that
168. 6:54she would exercise out in front of the
169. 6:56law school and it got hit as she was
170. 7:00coming across the road I I heard the car
171. 7:05hit it and ran out and she was there
172. 7:08crying and we thankfully there was
173. 7:10someone who came along who knew a vet or
174. 7:13something and they helped that and the
175. 7:15her family came down I think a couple
176. 7:18weeks after that or something and I met
177. 7:20them just briefly
178. 7:22but boyfriend
179. 7:24or I we we've been trying to figure out
180. 7:28she has a boyfriend up in at
181. 7:30Atlanta but I someone called her called
182. 7:34him and he hadn't heard from
183. 7:38her no no one could figure out where she
184. 7:40was so was the last question be wether
185. 7:42you said that somebody seen her on
186. 7:44Saturday yeah she went over to a couple
187. 7:47friends house Garen mu and Joe Kens they
188. 7:50live over on Walnut and and they they
189. 7:55said that she was over there in the
190. 7:56morning and then that was the last time
191. 7:59that anyone we've been able to find out
192. 8:03from had seen her she hadn't mentioned
193. 8:05what she was going to do that day or
194. 8:07anything we uh Joe he got onto her
195. 8:10computer last night to see if she had
196. 8:13said anything she'd sent an email out to
197. 8:15some people that afternoon talking about
198. 8:18like going out to eat or
199. 8:21something and the last thing that anyone
200. 8:25it was an email that she sent out after
201. 8:2710: that night where
202. 8:30she she sent to I think it was someone
203. 8:33in Atlanta a friend of hers in Atlanta
204. 8:36and he she said that she she was afraid
205. 8:41in her apartment that she thought
206. 8:42someone had tried to break in on
207. 8:43Thursday
208. 8:44night and she she was afraid to stay in
209. 8:48there

211. 8:50but where did you hear where did you
212. 8:52hear that from from Joe now he he pulled
213. 8:55it up and we we read it off the
214. 8:57screen she has said that to her friend
215. 8:59in Atlanta yeah I I can't remember his
216. 9:01name but and you hadn't heard anything
217. 9:03on Thursday night he never came to you
218. 9:05to tell you anything no
219. 9:09I I if she had I could have done
220. 9:12something I I could have lent her a
221. 9:14handgun I've got a little handgun that I
222. 9:16have for defense and she could have
223. 9:19slept b or something yeah I mean
224. 9:21something if she was afraid in her
225. 9:23apartment then I mean get her out of
226. 9:26there break can on THS that that's where
227. 9:29she said in the email she thought that
228. 9:30someone had tried to break into her
229. 9:32apartment she said like Meg hoodlum
230. 9:34tried to break into my apartment on
231. 9:36Thursday
232. 9:37night is that her car par there the
233. 9:40Chevy no small car no um I think that
234. 9:44that's the detective's car detective P
235. 9:46there no it it was here earlier and they
236. 9:49they tow it I it it' been there for days
237. 9:53and then they towed it to I guess look
238. 9:55through see if
239. 9:56there yeah how did you find out that
240. 10:00something was wrong with the police here
241. 10:02was it like when you walked up a little
242. 10:04while ago or no I we the police were
243. 10:08called last night and they came and they
244. 10:11looked around they didn't see anything I
245. 10:14me they went in we looked around the
246. 10:16place no sign of a struggle no sign that
247. 10:19anyone had broken in just nothing just
248. 10:22she was gone I all of her stuff was
249. 10:24there her ID was there her wallet was
250. 10:27there but we got a third piece of video
251. 10:29here let's do that and uh after that
252. 10:32we'll take the break and we'll come back
253. 10:33and we want to talk to you about some of
254. 10:34this and you can fill in some of the
255. 10:36gaps now all right so guys part three of
256. 10:38the interview Michelle did with Steven
257. 10:39McDaniel from a week
258. 10:45ago where's the
259. 10:56audio we can't hear it
260. 10:59and then this morning they knocked on my
261. 11:01door they were looking around trying to
262. 11:03find anything and few a few of the other
263. 11:07friends
264. 11:09uh Burpy
265. 11:12um Burpy and Garen and Ashley they were
266. 11:16here they were here last night and
267. 11:18they'd come back this morning and I just
268. 11:21went out and talked with them and they
269. 11:24and then they moved us all over to the
270. 11:27side and they bust us all down to the
271. 11:29department and kept us there until I got
272. 11:32back just a little while ago ask
273. 11:36question yeah they they took statements
274. 11:38trying to find out if anyone had seen
275. 11:40anything if anyone had heard anything
276. 11:41when the last time anyone start
277. 11:44was now they haven't confirmed at least
278. 11:48not with us that it it was um that they
279. 11:51found are you holding out any hope right
280. 11:54now I I I hope but
281. 12:01if they found it on on the property

284. 12:11body you were talk to the other no no as
285. 12:14far as any of us knew they were still
286. 12:16trying to just find her I we got an
287. 12:20email this morning from some people that
288. 12:21live on the other side of Kroger on the
289. 12:23other side of the river that they had
290. 12:25seen her in the past running in that
291. 12:28area we thought maybe someone had
292. 12:30snatched her over there or maybe she got
293. 12:32hurt or something
