- 0:00All right, what's up? It's Thrax. We are
- 0:01back for a monthly recap that I really
- 0:04kind of don't want to do, but I got to
- 0:06do it anyways. This month is probably or
- 0:09it is the worst month that I've had in
- 0:12basically like over a year. It was a
- 0:14little chaotic. There was kind of
- 0:15different things I was doing, but it was
- 0:17so bad to the point where this month is
- 0:20actually the first month in over a year
- 0:23where I actually didn't even pull a
- 0:24single payout, which is
- 0:27kind of embarrassing to be completely
- 0:29honest. And I'm going to talk about the
- 0:31numbers and kind of what happened and
- 0:33how tilt began to essentially compound
- 0:37on itself and frustration began to
- 0:40compound on itself to the point where we
- 0:42get the result of this month and now
- 0:45where we're currently sitting. And then
- 0:46we're going to talk about how we kind of
- 0:49approach this drawdown period to then
- 0:52pull ourselves out of it heading into
- 0:54June so that we don't mess up the rest
- 0:56of the year or the quarter or whatever.
- 0:58I mean, a bad month sometimes they
- 1:00happen. Execution lacks, you know,
- 1:03you're kind of off your game. I'm not
- 1:04perfect and it's important to actually
- 1:07make a video about why something like
- 1:09this might actually happen and then how
- 1:11I can actually adjust moving forward to
- 1:14pull myself out of a a drawdown period
- 1:16because I think it's important. A lot of
- 1:18traders actually go through a drawdown
- 1:19period. Unless you're just a beast and
- 1:21you just never lose and you're just
- 1:23always winning, then that's great. But
- 1:25for me, I guess this is uh
- 1:27the worst month and there is a few
- 1:29reasons for it. And they're not excuses
- 1:31when I talk about it. I just I really
- 1:33wasn't on top of what I was doing this
- 1:34month. I was a bit distracted. It was a
- 1:36bit chaotic. And so, we're going to
- 1:38start off by talking about the numbers.
- 1:40Now, let's take a quick break to tell
- 1:41you about the sponsor of this video,
- 1:43PropFirmMatch. PropFirmMatch has
- 1:45built-in comparison tools so you can
- 1:47compare prop firms against each other or
- 1:49even challenges against each other and
- 1:51you have all the rules clearly laid out.
- 1:53You can even see which firms are
- 1:54actually being used by traders just like
- 1:57yourself by reading some of the reviews,
- 1:59so you know exactly what you're spending
- 2:00your money on before you buy anything.
- 2:02It makes it really easy because you have
- 2:04everything now all in the same place.
- 2:06And if you want to use prop firm match,
- 2:08you can check the link in the
- 2:09description or in the pinned comment.
- 2:11And to make sure that you're getting the
- 2:12best deal on any of these firms, make
- 2:14sure you check out their exclusive
- 2:16offers and use code match. Now, let's
- 2:19get back into the video. So, this month
- 2:21I brought like one or two funded
- 2:23accounts into the month of May from
- 2:25April, which if you go watch the last
- 2:27recap in April, I was net positive, but
- 2:31it was actually a really bad month.
- 2:33Um I was net positive only like $800,
- 2:36which realistically is basically a
- 2:38break-even month. And there was a lot of
- 2:40frustration that was being built up
- 2:42through the month of April that
- 2:43unfortunately I kind of brought into the
- 2:45beginning of May. When we came into the
- 2:48month of May, I had maybe one or two
- 2:50funded accounts that I ended up blowing
- 2:52like the very first week of May. I go
- 2:55and I try and buy like evals, and I
- 2:58ended up in total this month buying 16
- 3:01challenges or 16 evals, and I only
- 3:03passed six accounts, meaning that my
- 3:06pass rate for this month was very low to
- 3:08what typically is. It was 37.5%,
- 3:12so from purchase to pass, 37.5%
- 3:15of evals that I purchased, I actually
- 3:17passed them. That is pretty bad. Um
- 3:21typically when I'm on top of my
- 3:22execution or when I'm really doing what
- 3:25I need to do, my pass rate will usually
- 3:27float around 50 to 60% on any given
- 3:30month. So, last month it was pretty low.
- 3:32It was also in the mid 30%s, and this
- 3:35month it was pretty low. It was in the
- 3:37mid 30%s. So, in the beginning of the
- 3:39month, right, I blow my funded accounts
- 3:42that I brought in from the month of
- 3:44April, and then it puts me in a position
- 3:46where now I have to spend money to then
- 3:49put myself in the hole initially to then
- 3:51try and get payouts and climb out of it.
- 3:53Now, what ended up happening is I kind
- 3:54of tilted that first week of May or I
- 3:56allowed that frustration from April and
- 4:00the beginning of May when I blew those
- 4:02accounts to kind of compound on itself
- 4:04and it resulted in me buying like a
- 4:07bunch of evals, blowing them. I passed
- 4:10like three of them in the beginning of
- 4:11the month and then I blew those funded
- 4:14accounts and then I kind of just stopped
- 4:17trading prop firms for a week. And what
- 4:19I ended up doing is I ended up just like
- 4:23trying to trade the monthly futures
- 4:26competition for the World Cup or for the
- 4:29Robin's Cup. And the way that that works
- 4:31is you basically just put $500 into a
- 4:33live account with the Robin's Cup and
- 4:35then you trade it and then whoever has
- 4:37the most returns is going to win, right?
- 4:39So, I basically spent the entire second
- 4:41week. At this point heading into the
- 4:43second week, I was down like $1,000
- 4:46basically from purchasing accounts, from
- 4:48passing a couple, but ultimately blowing
- 4:51all of them. And so, I go and I just say
- 4:53like, "Okay, well, I'm going to do this
- 4:54monthly May competition for the Robin's
- 4:57Cup. I'm going to try and win a trophy."
- 4:58I take the 500 bucks. I spend like a
- 5:00week working on it. I was literally only
- 5:03trading that account. I bring it up to
- 5:05like $700 or something. So, I was
- 5:07sitting around like 40% returns. At the
- 5:09time I couldn't see the other
- 5:11competitors that were in the um
- 5:13competition. So, I understood or the way
- 5:16that I thought about it was if I could
- 5:17just turn the 500 into 1,000, then I'd
- 5:20pretty much lock in a win for the
- 5:22Robin's Cup for the May for the month of
- 5:24May. And then I was trying to get this
- 5:26trophy. Realistically, like that was it
- 5:28was just a whole like ego thing, you
- 5:30know, like I was I blew accounts. I
- 5:32wanted to, you know, make myself feel
- 5:34better, I guess. So, I'm trading this
- 5:35competition that really at the end of
- 5:36the day doesn't matter that much. And
- 5:38I'm trading a small account with 500
- 5:40bucks. And the purpose of that at the
- 5:42end of the day is really not even to
- 5:43make money. It's just to kind of get on
- 5:45a leaderboard and win a trophy, which
- 5:47was kind of stupid. I wasted a week
- 5:49doing that. I got it up to 40% returns.
- 5:52I ended up trying to push it to 100%
- 5:54returns and then lost all of my profits
- 5:56plus a little bit of my initial
- 5:58investment. So, my account went down to
- 6:00like just under 400 bucks, which I
- 6:03started with 500. And then I just
- 6:05thought to myself, this is a waste of
- 6:06time. I took out the remaining balance
- 6:09from that account and then I ended up
- 6:11going to trade my own live account. So,
- 6:14then following this competition after I
- 6:16kind of lose my profits and I'm like,
- 6:18well, there goes that. I take $2,000. I
- 6:21throw it into my own live account with,
- 6:23you know, my own broker. And I spend
- 6:25like another half of a week or a week of
- 6:28this month trading that account. And I
- 6:31actually took the 2,000 and within like
- 6:34a few days I built it up to $4,000.
- 6:37And what I ended up doing was I pulled
- 6:39out the initial investment and I tried
- 6:41to take the $2,000
- 6:44and then full port the profits that I
- 6:47made and try and get it to like 10K
- 6:49pretty quickly. And of course, you know,
- 6:51that didn't work out. I trade my my live
- 6:54broker that I trade with is AMP Futures.
- 6:56So, they allow $300 margins on mini
- 7:00contracts for NQ, which is insane. So,
- 7:03when I had $2,000 in the account or it
- 7:06was a little bit more than that, it was
- 7:07like 2,100. I basically sat there,
- 7:09waited for a setup, and the opportunity
- 7:12that I saw I tried to go five minis.
- 7:15Now, that trade, which is super
- 7:18degenerate behavior and I'm doing all of
- 7:21this and it's really not making a lot of
- 7:23sense of why I'm doing any of this
- 7:24stuff. I'm not focusing on prop firms.
- 7:27I'm like trading this competition
- 7:28account. I lose the competition
- 7:30basically. I then go to my own live
- 7:32account. I actually make profits on it.
- 7:35I turn 2K to 4K, take the 2K profits.
- 7:39I'm trying to just full port the 2K
- 7:41profits to build this live account. And
- 7:43I ended up just blowing the 2K balance
- 7:45in one trade. I went like five minis. It
- 7:48just went the opposite direction like 90
- 7:50ticks. And then my broker liquidated me
- 7:53because I didn't have enough margin for
- 7:54the trade anymore, right? At that point
- 7:56we're like we're we're basically two and
- 7:59a half weeks into May. At that point I'm
- 8:01down with the prop firms like a thousand
- 8:03dollars. I [ __ ] up this
- 8:06uh monthly competition account. I [ __ ]
- 8:09up the profits from the live account.
- 8:11And then I'm thinking to myself like
- 8:12what am I doing, you know? Like I should
- 8:13just go back and trade evals. I need to
- 8:16make sure that I'm net positive on the
- 8:17month with the evals and the prop firms.
- 8:20And so this is right around the time
- 8:23that Alpha Futures then goes and
- 8:26releases their new platform which is the
- 8:29Alpha Trader platform. And they also run
- 8:31a deal. It was like 50% off. So I go and
- 8:34I purchase like like four or five
- 8:36different evals, okay? And I spend like
- 8:38another 500 bucks basically purchasing
- 8:41these evals. Now because of that I now
- 8:44have all these evals and I need to trade
- 8:46them to then obviously get to the funded
- 8:48stage and then try and pull payouts from
- 8:51those accounts. But what ends up
- 8:52happening is there was a lot of issues.
- 8:55I mean it's a new platform so there's
- 8:56bugs, but the problem was is that it was
- 8:58actually kind of unusable. So now I
- 9:01purchased all these evals and for like a
- 9:03full week I can't even really trade
- 9:06them. They're throwing me into random
- 9:07positions. I'm having to deal with like
- 9:10trying to get my account reset because
- 9:11it's taking ghost trades or trades that
- 9:14like I never actually took in the first
- 9:16place. The platform is literally just
- 9:17taking trades on its own. Um which if
- 9:20you use that platform, you know exactly
- 9:22what I'm talking about. It's just like
- 9:24throwing limit orders up and then it'll
- 9:25just like put you into a trade without
- 9:28you knowing. So now I got all these
- 9:30evals that I can't trade. And so I go
- 9:32and I start purchasing even more
- 9:34accounts with Lucid. I bought like three
- 9:36more accounts. I spent like another 300
- 9:39bucks or whatever. And I blew a couple
- 9:41of them and then I passed one. So, right
- 9:43now I have a Lucid account. It's funded.
- 9:45It has like a $1,000 balance on it or
- 9:48whatever. So, now I'm in this weird
- 9:49position where, you know, I have these
- 9:51evals. I paid for them. I can't really
- 9:53trade them. But fortunately, you know,
- 9:56heading into like the end of the month,
- 9:58I was able to actually trade them a
- 9:59little bit with Alpha Futures. So, I
- 10:02ended up passing a 50k with Alpha
- 10:04Futures. I ended up passing a 25k as
- 10:06well. So, currently right now, I have an
- 10:10Alpha Futures account with like a $2,600
- 10:12balance in it that's funded. I have a
- 10:1425k account with Alpha Futures that I
- 10:16haven't even really traded yet because
- 10:18I'm kind of scared to trade on that
- 10:20platform. And I have this Lucid account
- 10:22where it has like a $1,000 balance in
- 10:25it. So, in terms of funded accounts, I
- 10:27have them now, but it's just like it
- 10:30just made it so it was it just ended up
- 10:32being like a terrible month for me.
- 10:35And it's really not an excuse cuz I
- 10:37tilted in the beginning. I spent time
- 10:39like doing stupid degenerate stuff or
- 10:42doing things just out of ego that really
- 10:43didn't make any sense like for 2 weeks
- 10:46of the month trading live accounts and
- 10:48not even trading prop firms. And then I
- 10:50tried to then begin to trade prop firms
- 10:53again at the very end of the month. So,
- 10:55with that being said, well, now I didn't
- 10:58pull a payout this month and I'm down
- 11:00$1,943.
- 11:03This is the number right here. I'm down
- 11:06$1,943
- 11:08with no payouts, which is terrible. This
- 11:11is the first net negative month that
- 11:13I've had in a very long time with the
- 11:15firms. April wasn't a good month.
- 11:17Heading into May, I kind of let that
- 11:19compound on itself, the frustration and
- 11:22tilt, and it caused me to kind of do
- 11:24stupid things, get distracted, execution
- 11:27began to lack, and I ended up having a
- 11:29terrible month in May. Towards the
- 11:32second week of May, once I kind of blew
- 11:34that those profits from my live account
- 11:37where I was trying to just full port
- 11:38them, I had to size down. So, I sized
- 11:41down dramatically. I kind of took a step
- 11:44back because I realized what was
- 11:45happening that I was spiraling kind of
- 11:48out of control for a second. Not out of
- 11:50control, but it it wasn't a good um
- 11:54it wasn't a good situation to be in. So,
- 11:57I'm spiraling and it's getting worse.
- 11:59So, because of that, in a situation like
- 12:01that, you don't necessarily hit the gas
- 12:03and then like use the same size or buy
- 12:06more e-vals or get more aggressive. I
- 12:09have to lay off a little bit. So, I
- 12:11ended up trading like two or three
- 12:13micros um the rest of the the month and
- 12:18I'm still trading small size because I'm
- 12:20focusing on getting my execution quality
- 12:23back. I have these three funded accounts
- 12:25heading into June and I also have all
- 12:28those e-vals, which there's like three
- 12:30e-vals sitting in Alpha Futures right
- 12:33now that I really haven't been able to
- 12:35trade. So, in terms of preparing myself
- 12:38for June, I do need to focus on kind of
- 12:41getting back into the swing of things
- 12:42because yeah, this month is really
- 12:44disappointing and there's nothing
- 12:46there's no excuses. It was totally my
- 12:48fault. It was a little chaotic. There
- 12:50were some things that happened, but at
- 12:51the end of the day like it's not an
- 12:53excuse. Yeah, we're we're net red for
- 12:56the month. It stings. It hurts, but it's
- 12:59all right. You know, we'll just bounce
- 13:01back in June. We have three funded
- 13:03accounts. Two of them have a small
- 13:05balance on them. One of them I haven't
- 13:07really touched. I have three e-vals. So,
- 13:09we can head into the month of June
- 13:12without really purchasing any accounts,
- 13:14which is kind of the goal and then we
- 13:16can focus on just pulling a payout. So,
- 13:18then in that sense, I can at least be in
- 13:21profit the start of the month if I pull
- 13:24those payouts and then manage the bank
- 13:26roll accordingly, you know, making sure
- 13:29I don't go net negative and then also
- 13:31being able to scale. So, I think the
- 13:33month of June is going to be a little
- 13:34bit better or I I know it's going to be
- 13:36better. It's just
- 13:38uh I really just kind of [ __ ] it up
- 13:40this month. Just being an idiot. Yeah,
- 13:43not good. I hope I hope when I was
- 13:45explaining that I don't want this to
- 13:46like come off in the sense that like I'm
- 13:49making excuses because honestly I just
- 13:51was acting like an idiot. Was acting
- 13:53like an idiot. I was getting distracted,
- 13:55focusing on things that didn't matter,
- 13:57and I let my execution slip and I got
- 14:00kind of loose with it. We're sizing
- 14:02down. We're getting back to focusing on
- 14:04execution, and we're going to get back
- 14:07into the swing of things for June. Price
- 14:09action this month was actually pretty
- 14:11good. Price action had nothing to do any
- 14:14There's no excuse for the reason why I
- 14:17blew my accounts. I was just being a
- 14:19degenerate. Yeah, kind of sucks. I
- 14:20really don't I really didn't want to
- 14:22make this video, but like this is an
- 14:24important month because this month is
- 14:26the month where I kind of ended a net
- 14:28positive streak with firms. So, I
- 14:31obviously have to talk about it. But,
- 14:33I'm not too disappointed. I mean, so far
- 14:36this year, right, we've pulled about a
- 14:38little over $49,000 in payouts. Last
- 14:41month and this month have been a little
- 14:42difficult, but January, February, March
- 14:45were okay. We can still turn things
- 14:47around to the point where we can get to
- 14:49six figures in terms of payouts by the
- 14:51end of the year, which is kind of just
- 14:52what the goal is. So, I just can't let
- 14:55months like this or the month prior to
- 14:58this in April where I was basically
- 15:00break even essentially compound
- 15:03frustration and tilt to the point where
- 15:05I ruin multiple months, right? I mean,
- 15:08having a bad month is one thing. It is
- 15:10what it is.
- 15:11I can't allow it to affect the rest of
- 15:13my year, especially since it's like
- 15:15$1,900, right? So, it's not a big deal,
- 15:20but it is disappointing. It is
- 15:22frustrating, But, we got to set that in
- 15:24the past. We got to focus on moving
- 15:26forward in the future and getting back
- 15:28to actually trading properly, not being
- 15:31a degenerate, not worrying about
- 15:33competitions or like ego-related things,
- 15:36and just focus on the quality of
- 15:39execution. And for the time being, I
- 15:41need to size down because my execution
- 15:44is lacking. So, I don't have the right
- 15:47to use normal size or use what use the
- 15:50size I typically use. And I'm definitely
- 15:52not going to be copy trading. So, we're
- 15:53just going to be trading small micros,
- 15:56two or three individually on each of the
- 15:58accounts, slowly building the balance,
- 16:01focusing on pulling a payout the
- 16:02beginning of June, and then using those
- 16:04profits to then scale and then try and
- 16:06get back into the swing of things. So,
- 16:08it is what it is. My bad. Uh if this
- 16:11video kind of is all over the place, I
- 16:13just woke up. It's like 7:00 a.m. in the
- 16:15morning. And yeah, I really don't have
- 16:17anything else to say. I know it
- 16:19I don't even know if this video really
- 16:22has any type of value for anybody. I
- 16:24just got to document that it happens.
- 16:26So, yeah, I'll catch you guys next time.
- 16:28Peace.
