1. 0:20So that was November 2019. So 6 years
2. 0:24ago now and I started as managing
3. 0:26director for our Northwest business uh
4. 0:28which I helped set up and uh create.
5. 0:34So I started in the industry 23 years
6. 0:36ago and I started as a local apprentice
7. 0:39for an insurance broker and I've done
8. 0:41pretty much every single job in an
9. 0:43insurance broker environment from
10. 0:45insurance administrator to being the
11. 0:47account handler, senior account handler,
12. 0:49account exec then moving into some sales
13. 0:52directorship before joining JMG as a
14. 0:55managing director to lead the laner
15. 0:58business which I spent 5 years building
16. 1:00before being promoted to regional
17. 1:02managing director across the often.
18. 1:06It's a great question. So, creating a
19. 1:08business from from a cold start, which I
20. 1:10did I did when I set up the banker
21. 1:12business, I you learned just about every
22. 1:16element particularly as it was co as
23. 1:17well. I so learning how to build a
24. 1:20brand, learning how to create a business
25. 1:22uh in a brand new territorial area as
26. 1:24well as all the skills I' I'd learned
27. 1:26previously and bringing all of those
28. 1:28together uh is such a an insight I can
29. 1:32draw on my region role.
30. 1:36So I work really closely with our
31. 1:37managing directors and all of our people
32. 1:39across the region. It's really important
33. 1:41to me a collaboration understanding the
34. 1:45challenges and the pain points the
35. 1:46experience I have had previously going
36. 1:49through some of the things helping with
37. 1:51that strategy creation and more
38. 1:53importantly the execution of that
39. 1:54strategy.
40. 1:57So we take the noise away from running a
41. 1:59a complicated regulated compliant
42. 2:02business. So taking that noise away from
43. 2:04people and access to to a team of people
44. 2:08who have got great bread and depth of
45. 2:10knowledge and experience. I that's that
46. 2:13is such a a pool of people we've got to
47. 2:16be able to work with and draw from.
