2. 0:08my name's Martin right and I'm part of
3. 0:12the Great Britain Sitting Volleyball tea
4. 0:15and I have the huge honour of taking
5. 0:18part in that little event in London that
6. 0:21happened in 2012 Paralympics 2005 I've
7. 0:29got on a tube and I was involved in the
8. 0:3277 terrorist bombs in in London and yeah
9. 0:37I suppose
10. 0:38it obviously has changed the way that I
11. 0:41view life there's quite a lot of
12. 0:43connections coincidences of why I was
13. 0:46late that morning the day before we'd
14. 0:49all been celebrating that London had won
15. 0:51the Olympic and Paralympic bid that's
16. 0:53the whole reason why I was late that
17. 0:54morning the whole reason why I was on
18. 0:55the tube and was involved in the
19. 0:58bombings and seven years later I was
20. 1:02taking part as as an athlete in the
21. 1:05Paralympics and I truly believe that
22. 1:08that happened for a reason and that was
23. 1:11my faith for me it was really hard to
24. 1:13deal with the memories of who I once was
25. 1:15so I was looking to pretty much find out
26. 1:18who I was again really so I grabbed many
27. 1:21opportunities like flying planes jumping
28. 1:24out planes things sound out that wasn't
29. 1:27popular with my mom and dad but I was
30. 1:29looking for something sort of to replace
31. 1:31the drive and ambition that I used to
32. 1:33feel at work and I went along to a
33. 1:36Paralympic day and fell in love with
34. 1:38Sitting Volleyball and sport has given
35. 1:41me so much on a physical emotional and
36. 1:44psychological levels and it's really you
37. 1:47know giving me that dream again and
38. 1:48giving me that that that sort of drive
39. 1:51and hunger that I used to feel at work
40. 1:53I'm not saying the last 13 years has
41. 1:56been easy it hasn't it's been a
42. 1:59rollercoaster of a ride
43. 2:01you know I've shared things good things
44. 2:03that have happened to make positives
45. 2:05that I've got out of it but also my team
46. 2:07II have had that as well to be able to
47. 2:09have a diverse work force will give you
48. 2:11opportunity
49. 2:13and we'll give you results that I think
50. 2:16more you know more creative and yeah
51. 2:20it's about getting the conversation
52. 2:22going and you know what works really
53. 2:23well as were always getting the
54. 2:24conversation going is actually a bit of
55. 2:27humor as well
56. 2:28thrown in there and yeah I suppose
57. 2:32I know companies that have used local
58. 2:35networks local unique communities and
59. 2:37its really I suppose yeah looking at
60. 2:39sort of recruitment in it in a in a
61. 2:42slightly different way but I wish I
62. 2:45could well I wish it all of us could
63. 2:47write a prescription for it I always
64. 2:49want to be an ambassador for sport so I
65. 2:51still do that I mentor people in
66. 2:54hospital so definitely still want to do
67. 2:56that I'm involved in sort of different
68. 3:00charities that support families that are
69. 3:04involved in terrorism I think that's
70. 3:05really important and I don't really know
71. 3:10what's around the corner I've got you
72. 3:14know I feel like in expeditions coming
73. 3:16on so if anyone out there can help me
74. 3:18maybe
75. 3:19maybe to the north or south for I'd like
76. 3:20something like that but yeah just to
77. 3:23keep living keep believing that anything
78. 3:27is possible
79. 3:30[Music]
80. 3:53you
