Market Mechanics Ep 28: Emotional Regulation — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Carl Jung famously said, "Until you make
- 0:02the unconscious conscious, it will
- 0:05direct your life and you will call it
- 0:07fate."
- 0:08That's basically trading. If you repeat
- 0:10the same old mistakes over and over
- 0:12again, you repeat the same old
- 0:14unconscious patterns over and over
- 0:16again, you're going to get the exact
- 0:17same results.
- 0:19Which means that it's important that you
- 0:21start becoming more conscious. You start
- 0:23becoming more aware.
- 0:25And that's what sanctuary is, right?
- 0:27Because in trading, we all know that as
- 0:29humans it's impossible for us to
- 0:31eliminate our emotions. The only time
- 0:33you don't have emotions is when you are
- 0:355 ft under the ground.
- 0:37They, right? Which also means that it's
- 0:39either you are dead or you are an AI
- 0:42robot that doesn't feel any emotions,
- 0:43you are going to experience emotions,
- 0:45right? That's just part of life. But
- 0:47it's important for you to be aware of
- 0:50those emotions and prevent them from
- 0:53taking control over you. To prevent them
- 0:56from clouding your judgment. To prevent
- 0:58them from
- 0:59causing you to make bad decisions that
- 1:01allow you to take unnecessary losses.
- 1:04So, I'm going to give you a secret,
- 1:05right? This is the secret to mastering
- 1:07your mind, mastering trading psychology.
- 1:10And it's very simple.
- 1:12And it's the fact that every single time
- 1:15you feel an emotion arising within you,
- 1:18what you want to do is to get conscious
- 1:19of it. Be aware of the emotion.
- 1:22And then settle the body down.
- 1:25And the more you practice that, the less
- 1:27control emotions have over you.
- 1:29And the more conscious you become of
- 1:31your unconscious patterns, the fewer
- 1:34mistakes you repeat. Which also means
- 1:37fewer unnecessary loss, which
- 1:39automatically means more profits. That's
- 1:42the secret right there. And that's what
- 1:44we're going to be talking about this in
- 1:45this lesson, right? It's about really
- 1:48gaining emotional mastery. And to me,
- 1:51emotional mastery doesn't mean
- 1:52eliminating of emotions. It means
- 1:54accepting the fact that you cannot
- 1:57always control the initial reaction, but
- 2:01you certainly
- 2:02always can control your response. It's
- 2:06not what happens first that matters.
- 2:08It's what you do next. It's not the
- 2:11situation that hurts. It's your
- 2:13interpretation of the situation that
- 2:15hurts. It's not the wrong trade that
- 2:17destroys you. It's refusing to cut it
- 2:20before it becomes a big loss that does.
- 2:23So, that's what Sanctuary is. It exists
- 2:24for one reason, and that is to help you
- 2:27break the self-destructive patterns
- 2:29fast, help you regain your mental state,
- 2:33right? Come back to a mental equilibrium
- 2:35so that you can trade the market for
- 2:37what it is, not your emotions, not your
- 2:39mental well-being. So, that your edge
- 2:42can actually play out and you can
- 2:43actually become profitable, right? So,
- 2:45on Edge Flow, go to Sanctuary right
- 2:46here, open up Sanctuary, and once you
- 2:48open Sanctuary, you will see that, just
- 2:50like the name suggests, it is a safe
- 2:52place that you can go anytime to reset
- 2:55your mental state, right? To calm down,
- 2:57to get rid of the emotions, and just
- 3:00prevent them from clouding your
- 3:02judgment. So, over here, it's pretty
- 3:05much giving you all the tools that you
- 3:07need to calm down, to regain clarity, to
- 3:09detach from P&L, to stop impulse
- 3:12trading, and to just overall, you know,
- 3:14start to like just detach from the
- 3:17outcome of the trades itself. So, over
- 3:19here, you can either meditate or you can
- 3:21run quick breathing and mental reset
- 3:24exercises to bring yourself back to
- 3:26neutral. Okay? So, I'm just going to go
- 3:28through like this entire feature, like
- 3:30just just going to break it down for you
- 3:31guys. So, the first thing you will see
- 3:33is this meditation timer.
- 3:35So, this is a very simple meditation
- 3:38timer. If you have meditated before, you
- 3:40will know exactly how this works. You
- 3:41can pick the duration you want to
- 3:43meditate right here.
- 3:445 minute, 10 minute, 15 minute, 30
- 3:46minute, 1 hour. If you want to go crazy,
- 3:48you can go even 3 hours or 5 hours,
- 3:50right? I'm pretty sure nobody's going to
- 3:52do that unless you're a freaking monk.
- 3:54But anyways, this is where you can even
- 3:55set custom duration as well, right? So,
- 3:57this is hours, this is minutes, and this
- 3:58is seconds. So, let's say I'm going to
- 4:00meditate for
- 4:02uh 3 minutes dot
- 4:043 minutes 3 seconds, right? So, I'll put
- 4:06that, okay? And then next is interval
- 4:08bells, right? You can choose to have
- 4:09interval bells if you want, right? If
- 4:11you want, you can turn it on. If you
- 4:12don't want, you can turn it off. Uh how
- 4:14it works is that you will get a gentle
- 4:16reminder every few minutes or so. Like
- 4:19you will hear a ting sound every 1
- 4:20minute or every three two minutes or
- 4:22three minutes or whatever it is I select
- 4:24right here.
- 4:25Uh this way you don't drift off, right?
- 4:27Or you don't get distracted, right? So,
- 4:30yeah, if you want, you can just set it
- 4:32on. And then next is the ambient sound,
- 4:34right? So, ambient sound, this is where
- 4:36you can choose a background sound while
- 4:38you are meditating, right? So, you can
- 4:40see there's going to be a sound that
- 4:42appears every single time you hover
- 4:44around each one of these ambient sound
- 4:45just to give you a taste of like what it
- 4:47sounds like. Gentle rain, ocean wave,
- 4:50forest ambience, fireplace, white noise.
- 4:53If you don't want any sound and you want
- 4:54to meditate in silence, which is what I
- 4:55prefer to do, you can just press none,
- 4:58okay? And then once done, right? You can
- 5:00just start, right? So, let's say let's
- 5:02let's try to like just do it last one.
- 5:03You can adjust the volume here, by the
- 5:05way, for the ambient sound itself,
- 5:06right? So, let's say we start.
- 5:09Boom, now I'm meditating for 3 seconds.
- 5:113 2 1, boom. The minute the meditation
- 5:15is done, there's this model that pop up
- 5:17right here that will ask you how you
- 5:18feel, right? Just to check in how you
- 5:19feel during the meditation itself,
- 5:20right? So, let's say I put energized,
- 5:22and you can leave some notes, right? So,
- 5:24I had some intrusive thoughts.
- 5:27Okay? Or like whatever whatever you're
- 5:29noticing the session, you can just write
- 5:31it here, right? Just reflect on the
- 5:32meditation itself, and then just press
- 5:33save and exit. And the moment you do
- 5:35that, what happens is that we are going
- 5:37to check off the today, right? Which is
- 5:39the day which shows you that you have
- 5:41meditated today, and the session note
- 5:43that you have just put in there will be
- 5:45reflected in here, right? So, you can
- 5:47see
- 5:48this is how you felt, and so on and so
- 5:50forth. Yeah. So, this is where you can
- 5:53view all the sessions.
- 5:54All right. So, basically, when you
- 5:56actually start the meditating, you will
- 5:58hear you will hear a bell chime at the
- 6:00start of the meditation.
- 6:02Ding. That signals the start of the
- 6:04meditation. And then once the timer runs
- 6:06out, you will hear another bell at the
- 6:07end of the meditation, right? Another
- 6:09ding. And that signals the end of the
- 6:11meditation.
- 6:12And like I said, once done, you're you
- 6:14will be able to log your emotion or any
- 6:15notes, and it will all be saved in here.
- 6:18Okay. Next up is intention setting,
- 6:20right? So, if you look at this top
- 6:21right-hand corner, this is where you can
- 6:23set an intention for the day itself,
- 6:25right? This is where you can set one
- 6:26clear rule for the day. So, for example,
- 6:29today I will journal every trade. Today,
- 6:31I will not revenge trade. Today, I will
- 6:33follow my trade plan. Whatever it is,
- 6:35you just want to keep it as one simple
- 6:37sentence, and you want to make it
- 6:39process-oriented. You want to make it
- 6:41behavioral. You want to make it so that
- 6:43it's within your control, right? You
- 6:45can't say stupid stuff like, "Today, I'm
- 6:47going to make $5,000 from the market."
- 6:49No, that's outside of your control,
- 6:51right? That's an outcome-focused goal,
- 6:53which only happens as a byproduct of you
- 6:55following the process, right? So, you
- 6:57need to make sure that you put like a
- 6:58process-oriented action right here,
- 7:00like, "Today, I follow my plan. Today, I
- 7:03will take only A+ setups." Right? When
- 7:06you do this, what happens is that you
- 7:09are literally telling your subconscious
- 7:11mind, "Okay, I'm going to be doing this
- 7:13today." Right? So, this is my intention
- 7:15for the day. So, today, I'm just going
- 7:17to be focused on doing this. Once again,
- 7:19you don't realize this, but such a
- 7:20simple action will really like just
- 7:22pass down the right message to your
- 7:24subconscious mind, so you can take the
- 7:25right action. Okay. So, there's that.
- 7:28And then below here, you can see this is
- 7:30your progress and streak tracker, right?
- 7:32You can see this week how many sessions
- 7:34you completed, how many minutes you
- 7:36actually meditated this week, what is
- 7:39your current streak, if you're on any
- 7:40streak, what is your longest streak,
- 7:42What is your total meditation minutes
- 7:43and what is the amount of total sessions
- 7:45that you had, right? So, once again,
- 7:47this stats are here because uh just to
- 7:50keep you accountable, right? Once again,
- 7:52it's not about like being a monk and
- 7:54just trying to stack this as much as
- 7:56possible. Obviously, you can do those,
- 7:58right? You can kind of gamify it, but
- 8:00it's really just there to keep you
- 8:01accountable. Okay, because if you can
- 8:04stack calm reps, if you can, you know,
- 8:06do the inner work consistently, you can
- 8:08stack discipline reps in trading. You
- 8:10can get consistent results in trading.
- 8:13All right, so that's that. And then
- 8:14below here, this is where you have the
- 8:16mental toolkit. Okay, so this is a
- 8:18curated set of short psychology and
- 8:21breathing exercises
- 8:23all grouped by purpose that were done up
- 8:25by my trading performance coach inside
- 8:27of
- 8:28my trading performance coach inside of
- 8:301% Club, Sanjeev Sangha, which is this
- 8:32majestic man that you can see right
- 8:34here. Now, bear in mind that this is not
- 8:35anybody, this is not some guy that I
- 8:37hired on Fiverr or anything. This is
- 8:40literally a trading psychology coach who
- 8:44has been trading for the past 10 years
- 8:46and spent the past 5 years coaching prop
- 8:48firm traders, coaching professional
- 8:50institutional traders, coaching my
- 8:52students inside of 1% Club on how to
- 8:54really like just manage your psychology
- 8:56well when you are trading. So, this is
- 8:59the guy with a lot a lot a lot of
- 9:00experience when it comes to psychology,
- 9:02when it comes to uh NLP, when it comes
- 9:05to trading in general, right? So, you
- 9:07can trust that these breathing exercises
- 9:09work. If not, you can just try one out
- 9:11yourself and see the immediate effects
- 9:13after the the exercise. Anyways, this is
- 9:16the entire library, right?
- 9:18So, you got the reboot exercises. This
- 9:21is
- 9:22video of breathing exercises that you
- 9:24want to be using
- 9:26as a quick reset when you feel
- 9:27triggered, when you feel tilted, when
- 9:28you feel emotional, when you feel
- 9:30overstimulated. So, you can use this
- 9:32before or after a trade to get back into
- 9:34a flow state fast. And then you got the
- 9:36rewire, right? So, this is where you can
- 9:38build traits like confidence,
- 9:40discipline, detachment from money,
- 9:43so on and so forth. And once again, this
- 9:45just allows you to think and act and
- 9:48feel like a professional trader. Because
- 9:50when you start thinking, acting, and
- 9:52feeling like a professional trader, you
- 9:54start getting the results of a
- 9:55professional trader, right? So, if you
- 9:57want to rewire your mind, reprogram your
- 9:59mind to think like a professional, I
- 10:00will highly
- 10:02recommend you to check out these videos
- 10:03right here. And then you got the
- 10:05recovery. Recovery, this is where you
- 10:06can come down here after a heavy
- 10:08session, after you're done trading,
- 10:10and then you want to like just, you
- 10:12know, let today go, right? Let your past
- 10:14trade outcomes stay in the past.
- 10:16And you don't want to carry the market
- 10:18into tomorrow. So, this is where you can
- 10:20use it after your last trade or right
- 10:22before you sleep. So, each one of these
- 10:24cards right here, you can just click on
- 10:26it and then you can play the
- 10:28the video itself. And then you can see
- 10:30there's a tag right here that tells you
- 10:31the the category. It also shows you the
- 10:33duration. And if you like a breathing
- 10:36exercise and you want to do it over and
- 10:38over again, you can just press this star
- 10:39button right here to add it into your
- 10:41favorites
- 10:42tab right here and you can see all your
- 10:43favorite exercises will be stored in
- 10:45here, right? As simple as that. Okay?
- 10:49Cool. So, that's it, right? That's the
- 10:52entire walk through of the sanctuary
- 10:53feature. Now, I'm going to tell you my
- 10:56personal process, right? Because some of
- 10:58some of you guys, you guys are
- 10:59interested on how I'm able to like just
- 11:02remain so calm even though I've just
- 11:04lost five fits in a row, even though I'm
- 11:06managing such a huge amount of money.
- 11:08Well, this really because I have like a
- 11:10process that really just allow me to
- 11:12stay grounded, right? Just allow me to
- 11:14just trade the plan and just ignore my
- 11:16emotions. And my process is split into
- 11:18three parts: before I trade, during I
- 11:21trade, and after I trade. I'm just going
- 11:23to quickly walk you through the entire
- 11:24process right here. So, before I trade,
- 11:27this is where I prime my mind, okay? So,
- 11:29before you start trading, I highly
- 11:31recommend you to do a short switch on
- 11:33routine.
- 11:35Right, what do I mean by switch on
- 11:36routine? It's not some spiritual woo-woo
- 11:38thing, you know, like you have to
- 11:41right, just shout a bunch of
- 11:42affirmations and me well and just pray
- 11:44that you will succeed. No.
- 11:46This switch on routine allows you to be
- 11:48back in control. It around allows you to
- 11:51prime your mind. Allows you to get into
- 11:53the right state so that later when you
- 11:55go into the charts, you can execute like
- 11:57a freaking machine. All right, so for
- 11:59this
- 12:00very simple, before I trade, there is
- 12:02three things that I do. Number one is to
- 12:03reset my body. So, this is where I'll
- 12:06come in here. I will either do like a
- 12:07box breathing exercise just like this or
- 12:09like a 60-second reboot if I'm running
- 12:11out of time. Or I will do like a 5 to 10
- 12:13minutes meditation. Okay? And while you
- 12:16are doing this exercise or this
- 12:18meditation, you want to make sure that
- 12:20you focus on your breathing. Right,
- 12:22because when you focus on your
- 12:23breathing, what happens is that you are
- 12:25focusing on the present moment. And when
- 12:27you do that, you are training your mind
- 12:29to stay grounded in the present moment,
- 12:31which allows you to see the market for
- 12:33what it is rather than what you think it
- 12:34is or rather than what you think it's
- 12:36going to do. Okay? So, when you are
- 12:38doing this meditation, when you're doing
- 12:40this breathing exercise, you're always
- 12:42breathe out longer than you breathe in.
- 12:45So, if you breathe in for four counts,
- 12:48you want to breathe out for six counts.
- 12:50When you do that, what you are doing is
- 12:52that you are calming down the
- 12:53parasympathetic system. Right, you are
- 12:55literally telling your body, "I am safe.
- 12:58I am secure. I am calm."
- 13:02And what this happens is that you are
- 13:03able to really just get into the state
- 13:06where you're not emotional, you know,
- 13:08you are not thinking about the past,
- 13:09you're not thinking about the future,
- 13:11you're just focusing on the present. And
- 13:13this is where you are able to stop
- 13:15reacting to the noise and really just
- 13:17start seeing the market for what it is
- 13:18objectively. Yeah, so I'll do that. Then
- 13:21next step is that I'll just quickly ask
- 13:22myself what emotion am I feeling right
- 13:25now. What am I walking into the market
- 13:27as? Right? So, if I'm feeling angry, if
- 13:29I'm feeling calm, if I'm feeling
- 13:31excited, whatever it is, I will name the
- 13:33emotion. Remember, you're not judging
- 13:36it. You're not judging yourself. You're
- 13:37not judging the emotion. You're just
- 13:39becoming conscious of it. You're just
- 13:41becoming aware of the emotion.
- 13:43Because if you don't name the state, if
- 13:45you don't name the emotional state, the
- 13:47state will control the trade.
- 13:49It will control you. Okay? So, like I
- 13:51said earlier, until you make the
- 13:53unconscious conscious,
- 13:55it will rule your life and you'll call
- 13:56it fate. Right? So, this is what we're
- 13:58doing. Just getting conscious.
- 14:00And then, next thing is I would just
- 14:02tell myself, "Okay, I'm in execution
- 14:04mode right now. I'm not in analysis mode
- 14:06anymore. I'm in execution mode."
- 14:09So, by this time, my analysis will have
- 14:12been done. I've already done my
- 14:13preparation, my research, my analysis. I
- 14:15know exactly why I want to enter for the
- 14:17trade and why I want to enter at that
- 14:18particular price point. And now it's
- 14:20just a time of executing. Okay? So, when
- 14:23the session starts, right so, well, my
- 14:25job is to just wait for the setup to
- 14:27appear, execute my trade, manage risk,
- 14:30that's it.
- 14:32Now, if you want to take it one step
- 14:33even further, you can do like a mental
- 14:35rehearsal or like a visualization. And
- 14:38that is when you're meditating on where
- 14:39you're doing your breathing exercise,
- 14:41you want to visualize your process.
- 14:44Visualize the steps of the process,
- 14:46right? You waiting for the point of
- 14:48interest to get mitigated, you waiting
- 14:50for your entry trigger, and when you do
- 14:52it present itself, you executing the
- 14:54trade with confidence, with certainty,
- 14:56with conviction. And then you journaling
- 14:59the trade, and you ending trading for
- 15:01the day. So, what you do is that, once
- 15:03again, you are just mentally rehearsing
- 15:05the future, right? You And the fun part
- 15:08is that the brain cannot differentiate
- 15:09between reality and imagination, which
- 15:12means that whatever that happens in your
- 15:13imagination, you will experience the
- 15:15same emotions as though your imagination
- 15:18is played out in reality. Right? So,
- 15:20this is something that you can do as
- 15:21well. Just do like a mental rehearsal of
- 15:23the process so that later when you do go
- 15:25to the charts you can just execute
- 15:27exactly what you have visualized.
- 15:30Um so you can visualize if like two
- 15:32scenarios as well. If you win, you know
- 15:34what you do. If you lose, what you do.
- 15:36If you win, how you feel
- 15:38uh and how you act. And if you lose, how
- 15:39you will feel and how you act, right?
- 15:40Something you can visualize as well.
- 15:43So that's what I do before the trade.
- 15:45Now when I am trading, sometimes I get
- 15:48emotional, especially after a loss or
- 15:51after a win, right? After a loss, I
- 15:54start feeling anger. After a win, I
- 15:56start feeling euphoric. I start feeling
- 15:58overconfident.
- 15:59And when this happens, this caused me to
- 16:01make bad decisions because now once
- 16:03again, I'm trading the men my mental
- 16:05well-being. I'm no longer trading the
- 16:07market and that's
- 16:09a recipe for disaster.
- 16:11Which means during your session, you
- 16:13want to do some form of reboot, right?
- 16:15Resetting your mind. Get back to a
- 16:19mental equilibrium.
- 16:21Okay, and you can do that by checking
- 16:22out the reboot exercises right here,
- 16:24right? So you can just open up reboot,
- 16:26choose any one of these quick little
- 16:28breathing exercise that we have given
- 16:29you right here. And when you do those
- 16:31exercise, once you're done, ask yourself
- 16:34these three questions. Am I calm? Am I
- 16:37clear? Am I following the trade plan?
- 16:40Would I take this trade if I was already
- 16:42up big today?
- 16:43If the answer to any of these questions
- 16:45is no, then you don't trade yet because
- 16:48if the answer is no, that means you are
- 16:50still emotional and you need to give
- 16:51yourself more time, more space for your
- 16:54internal state to get back into
- 16:56equilibrium. Then you can continue
- 16:58trading.
- 17:00And then that's during the trade. Now
- 17:02after I'm done trading for the day
- 17:04itself, you know, I've made money, I've
- 17:06lost money, whatever it is, I do this
- 17:08exact same process. Once again, I come
- 17:10in here and I check out either one of
- 17:14the videos from the rewire category or
- 17:16the recovery category.
- 17:19Now, the reason why I do this is because
- 17:21I really just want to detach.
- 17:24I want to let go of my past trade
- 17:27outcome.
- 17:29Okay, because you must remember that in
- 17:30trading
- 17:32every single trade that you take
- 17:35is
- 17:36not attached to the past trade outcome,
- 17:39which also means just because you lost
- 17:40the last trade or just because you won
- 17:42the last trade, it doesn't increase or
- 17:44decrease the odds that you're going to
- 17:46win or lose the next trade. It's all
- 17:48random. Every single trade outcome is
- 17:50random.
- 17:51But as humans, what we tend to do is
- 17:53that we tend to bring the past loss into
- 17:55the future. Oh, I just lost three losses
- 17:58in a row. This means that I'm most
- 17:59likely going to lose the next trade. Oh,
- 18:01I just won five trades. It means that I
- 18:04am invincible. I'm going to win the next
- 18:06trade for sure. But it doesn't work that
- 18:08way because every single trade outcome
- 18:10is random, right? It's uncertain, right?
- 18:14You don't never ever know for sure
- 18:15whether you can win or lose the next
- 18:17trade. And that's what this rewire and
- 18:19recovery exercise allowed me to do. It
- 18:22allows me to just let go of whatever
- 18:24that have happened today and not carry
- 18:26the same emotions into tomorrow.
- 18:29And this also allowed me to have a good
- 18:31night's sleep, right? Because if not, I
- 18:33would be thinking about oh, what I could
- 18:34have done better, what uh what I I I
- 18:37should do tomorrow, you know, and this
- 18:39just ruins my sleep. Okay?
- 18:41So, yeah. Check out any one of these
- 18:42exercises from in the rewire and the
- 18:44recovery exercise in the category after
- 18:47you're done trading for the day itself.
- 18:50Okay. So, here's a quick little cheat
- 18:52sheet for you, right? If you feel any
- 18:54sort of emotion, whether that's anger,
- 18:56overconfident, anxious, fear, whatever
- 18:58it is, whatever emotion that you feel,
- 19:00before or while you're trading, you want
- 19:02to check out the reboot exercises right
- 19:05here or you want to meditate.
- 19:07Okay?
- 19:08If you're done trading, you know, you
- 19:11have took your last trade, you have
- 19:13ended your trading session, and now you
- 19:15want to settle down. You want to, you
- 19:16know, just chill and just calm down
- 19:19before you end the day, check out the
- 19:22real wire exercises or the recovery
- 19:24exercises. And if you want, you can even
- 19:27meditate. I personally meditate twice a
- 19:29day, once at the start of the day and
- 19:31another time at the end of the day. So,
- 19:34yeah. That's just how I really manage my
- 19:36psychology, how I stay disciplined at
- 19:38all times, how I'm just much more calm
- 19:41and much more happy than other people
- 19:44out there. Okay? So, yeah, that's how it
- 19:46works. That's how sanctuary works. I
- 19:47built this feature because I really want
- 19:50you to like just spend more time of an
- 19:52on your inner game because your trading
- 19:54results is literally a reflection of
- 19:56you. It's literally a reflection of your
- 19:58character, which also means that if you
- 20:00can transcend, which is end the trends,
- 20:04which you can ascend to a higher version
- 20:06of yourself by doing all of these mental
- 20:08exercises, doing all of these inner
- 20:09work,
- 20:10you will see the results that you
- 20:12desire. It will reflect back at you,
- 20:15right? Because like I said, the market
- 20:17is a mirror.
- 20:18Okay? So, that's it for this video
- 20:20itself, and here's how I want you to
- 20:21think about it, right? I don't want to
- 20:23think of this as like a separate feature
- 20:25of Edge Flow. I want you to think of
- 20:27this as
- 20:28an integral part of your trading
- 20:30process, of your trading system.
- 20:32The guardrails in Edge Flow stop you
- 20:35mechanically. It's the hard wall, right?
- 20:37It blocks you from doing dumb things
- 20:38when you're emotional.
- 20:40But sanctuary fixes the emotional cause.
- 20:43Because if you're diluted, if you're
- 20:45anxious, if you're greedy, if you're
- 20:46angry, if you are fearful, you are
- 20:49always going to find a way to break your
- 20:51trading rules. You are going to override
- 20:53your guardrails, and you are going to
- 20:55make stupid mistakes. As As you know the
- 20:58saying goes, you play stupid games, you
- 21:00win stupid prizes.
- 21:02Not because you're weak, not because you
- 21:04are a human, but because your nervous
- 21:07system is hijacked.
- 21:09Okay, so if you combine gut rails with
- 21:11sanctuary, this combo is deadly because
- 21:14gut rails is like I can't trust myself
- 21:16right now. But sanctuary is like Wait,
- 21:19why am I even in this emotional state in
- 21:21the first place?
- 21:23You're building the awareness. You're
- 21:25literally strengthening the conscious
- 21:27muscle.
- 21:28And together when you use those, you're
- 21:30not fighting yourself every single day.
- 21:32Now you are regulating first. You are
- 21:35regulating your nervous system. You are
- 21:38controlling your mind. You have mastery
- 21:40over your emotions, and now you can
- 21:43begin to execute your system
- 21:44consistently like a professional. And
- 21:47like I said if you start to think, act,
- 21:50and feel like a professional trader,
- 21:51your actions will be aligned with that
- 21:54of a professional trader,
- 21:56you will get the results of a
- 21:57professional trader.
- 21:59That's it. Remember, discipline isn't
- 22:02about motivation. It's
- 22:04regulation plus putting in the systems
- 22:08that will allow you to make the right
- 22:09decisions. And sanctuary brings you back
- 22:12to neutral so your edge can actually
- 22:14play out.
