Market Mechanics Ep 12: ICT Killzones — Transcript

- 0:00The Forex market is open 24 hours a day,
- 0:02but not all hours offer the same trading
- 0:05opportunities.
- 0:07And one of the biggest mistakes traders
- 0:09make is thinking they need to watch the
- 0:12charts all day to get a good move. They
- 0:15need to stare at a screen all day.
- 0:17But that is not how smart traders
- 0:19operate.
- 0:20Smart traders, professional traders,
- 0:23know that the market has specific
- 0:25windows where trading volume comes in,
- 0:28volatility expands, and high probability
- 0:31setups tend to appear.
- 0:33These windows are what we call Q zones.
- 0:37And if you understand them properly, you
- 0:38will stop forcing trades during dead
- 0:41hours and start focusing on the times
- 0:44that actually matter. In this lesson, I
- 0:46want to talk about Q zones and timing.
- 0:49Because even if your entry model is
- 0:51good, even if you got a perfect setup,
- 0:54timing still matters.
- 0:57It's like half of the battle.
- 0:59Okay, because you can have the the right
- 1:00setup, but if you're trading during the
- 1:02wrong session at the wrong time, when
- 1:04the market is dead, the market may
- 1:06simply not move the way you want it to
- 1:08move.
- 1:10How many times have you found your
- 1:11perfect trade setup? Right after you
- 1:13enter the trade, the market just
- 1:15consolidate.
- 1:17Or the market just start reversing
- 1:19heavily against you and then start going
- 1:20in a way again. All because you're
- 1:22trading at the wrong time.
- 1:24So, to put it simply, Q zones are
- 1:27specific times of the trading day when
- 1:29high probability setups are more likely
- 1:31to appear because volume and
- 1:34participation increases.
- 1:36So, once again, the market is open 24
- 1:38hours a day, but the best opportunities
- 1:41comes during certain windows, and those
- 1:44are our Q zones. Right? We want to trade
- 1:46during Q zones, not during random hours
- 1:49because Q zones, these are the period
- 1:52where the market tends to deliver clean
- 1:55price action, liquidity sweeps,
- 1:57reversals, and continuation.
- 2:01All right. So, once again, Q zones, they
- 2:03matter a lot to us because this is where
- 2:06trading volume is higher, volatility is
- 2:09better, price delivery is cleaner, which
- 2:12means there's a higher chance of
- 2:14liquidity sweep, manipulation, and real
- 2:17expansion. And the market is just
- 2:20Basically, the market have more fuel to
- 2:21actually go and hit the your take
- 2:23profit. That's it. Right? Like
- 2:25Those are the times These are the times
- 2:27right here where the market has a lot of
- 2:29fuel.
- 2:30So, if you combine a good trade setup at
- 2:32a right time, it's so much more stronger
- 2:36than a good setup at a wrong time.
- 2:39Okay, like you can have a higher chance
- 2:40of hitting TP fast if you have the same
- 2:43setup at the right time compared to if
- 2:45you have it at a bad time.
- 2:48So, the following times right here are
- 2:50in UTC
- 2:52-4, right? Which is the Eastern Standard
- 2:54Time. All right. So, all of these time
- 2:56that you can see on the screen right
- 2:56here, this is the Eastern Standard Time.
- 2:58So, based on wherever you are in the
- 3:00world, you might want to do some
- 3:01conversion, right? You can just go and
- 3:03search what these times are in your
- 3:06particular time zone on Google. It's
- 3:07very simple.
- 3:09So, let's talk about each Q zone. First,
- 3:11we've got the Asia Q zone. Asia Q zone,
- 3:13this is where the best currency pairs to
- 3:15trade during this period of time is your
- 3:17Australian dollar,
- 3:19the New Zealand dollar, and the Japanese
- 3:21yen pairs.
- 3:23And this is usually during the 8:00 p.m.
- 3:25to around 12:00 a.m. Eastern Standard
- 3:28Time. All right. So, if
- 3:30this window if you plan to trade during
- 3:32this window, then you are much better
- 3:34off trading these particular currency
- 3:36pairs, AUD, NZD, and JPY pairs.
- 3:40This session is usually a lot slower,
- 3:43but it's also kind of more cleaner for
- 3:45certain currency pairs.
- 3:47But this is not where you can expect
- 3:49like the big explosive move on the USD
- 3:51pairs.
- 3:53Right? Because in the Asian session,
- 3:54price tends to be like quite
- 3:56consolidatory, right? Like it just tends
- 3:58to like chop around, move sideways a
- 3:59little bit, especially for USD pairs.
- 4:02But if you're trading these currency
- 4:03pairs,
- 4:04it could provide a decent amount of
- 4:05trading opportunities. Right? Like the
- 4:07Australian dollar, the New Zealand
- 4:09dollars, and the Japanese yen pairs. And
- 4:11then next up, we've got the London Q
- 4:12zone, right? Which is my favorite Q
- 4:14zone. This is the Q zone that I
- 4:15specialize in. This is the Q zone that
- 4:17I've been focusing on for the past few
- 4:19years. And it's also the Q zone that I
- 4:21trade on a daily basis. Right? Like you
- 4:22can see all of the trade that you have
- 4:24seen me take on my second channel, Brad
- 4:26trades,
- 4:27is like 90% of I probably take it during
- 4:29the London Q zone. Maybe 10% is taken
- 4:31during the New York or Asia Q zone. But
- 4:3390% of it is London Q zone.
- 4:35And the reason why I choose to trade
- 4:37this Q zone is because it's the
- 4:39afternoon time in my country, Singapore.
- 4:43And not only that, but also the currency
- 4:45pairs that I trade tends to provide the
- 4:47most amount of trading opportunities
- 4:49during this period of time.
- 4:51And that is the euro pairs, the Great
- 4:54Britain pound pairs. Right? So,
- 4:56EURUSD, GBPUSD, GBPAUD, right? Euro and
- 5:00NZD, right? Whatever that involves euro
- 5:02and Great Britain pound, this is where
- 5:05you will see quite a lot of trading
- 5:07volume, which automatically means quite
- 5:09a lot of good old trading opportunities.
- 5:12Right?
- 5:14So, there's a certain pattern when it
- 5:16comes to this Q zone itself.
- 5:19If the daily structure is bullish, what
- 5:21tends to happen is that price will sweep
- 5:23the Asia high, creates the high of the
- 5:25day, and then goes down. Okay, once
- 5:27again, not always, right? This strategy
- 5:29is known as the Asia sweep strategy,
- 5:31which I already covered in one of my
- 5:33YouTube videos, which you can search
- 5:34search it up. But basically, during the
- 5:36Asia session, let's say price is
- 5:37consolidating just like this. And then,
- 5:40when it's consolidating, you can
- 5:42identify the high of the consolidation
- 5:43and the low of the consolidation. So,
- 5:45this becomes the Asia high, and then
- 5:47this becomes the Asia low.
- 5:49So, if the daily structure is actually
- 5:51bullish, what tends to happen is that
- 5:54during the London Q zone, price can come
- 5:56up there, sweep the Asia high, create
- 5:58the high of the day, and then it starts
- 5:59coming down.
- 6:00And then if price is actually bearish,
- 6:03then what tends to happen is that price
- 6:05can come up there, sweep the Asia low,
- 6:07right here, this is the Asia low, and
- 6:08then reverse and go back up.
- 6:10Not always, but sometimes this Asia
- 6:13sweep strategy works really, really
- 6:14well. Right? So, yeah, that's the London
- 6:17Q zone, my favorite Q zone to trade. I
- 6:19really do think that this is the best Q
- 6:20zone. It's like it's not too volatile,
- 6:22but it's also not too slow. It's perfect
- 6:25if you're trading euro and Great Britain
- 6:28pound.
- 6:30Next up, we've got the New York Q zone,
- 6:32right? So, the New York Q zone is 7:00
- 6:34a.m. to around 10:00 a.m.
- 6:37Eastern Standard Time. This is where
- 6:38news usually appear, right? This is
- 6:40where high impact news are usually
- 6:41released.
- 6:43And
- 6:44this session is best for
- 6:46US dollar pairs. Right? I mean like
- 6:49honestly, it kind of like
- 6:50self-explanatory, right? Like Asia
- 6:52session, this is where people in New
- 6:54Zealand, Japan, and Australia are awake.
- 6:57And then London session, this is where
- 6:59people in Europe and London is awake and
- 7:02actively trading. And then New York
- 7:03session, this is where traders in the
- 7:06United States are actively trading,
- 7:07right? Which is why you can expect more
- 7:09trading volume for the USD pairs during
- 7:11the New York session itself.
- 7:14Now, this doesn't always happens, but
- 7:15sometimes it does happens where you can
- 7:17see we got like a consolidation that is
- 7:19formed during the London session, and
- 7:21then price tends to retrace back to the
- 7:23London range, and then maybe continue
- 7:25the swing structure. It really depends
- 7:27on the context of the market and the
- 7:29condition of the market for that
- 7:30particular setup, uh particular day
- 7:32itself.
- 7:34Yeah. So, sometimes you can see London
- 7:36give you like a expansion to the upside
- 7:38just like this. And then New York
- 7:40session, it might give you like a little
- 7:42retracement and then continuing the
- 7:44trend direction that was established
- 7:45during the London session. Or it could
- 7:47even cause the entire trend direction to
- 7:49shift
- 7:50from bullish to bearish. Right? So,
- 7:53yeah, it really depends on the market
- 7:54condition.
- 7:56And then next up, we've got the London
- 7:58close, right? Which is around 10:00 a.m.
- 8:00to 12:00 a.m. This session is quite good
- 8:02for USD pairs as well. There's a little
- 8:05bit lower trading volume, right? This is
- 8:07where you see price tends to retrace
- 8:09back to the daily range.
- 8:11But, you know, if you want to catch
- 8:13small retracement base opportunities,
- 8:16this London close session would be
- 8:18pretty decent for you.
- 8:21So, those are the four different Q
- 8:23zones, right? You must understand that
- 8:25not all Q zones are the same. Asia Q
- 8:27zone is usually a little bit more
- 8:28slower, a little bit more range bound
- 8:31where the market is just going sideways,
- 8:33right? London session, London Q zone,
- 8:36this is where you see like the market
- 8:38expand
- 8:39heavily. And then New York session, this
- 8:41is where price can retrace back to the
- 8:44range that was established in the London
- 8:45session, and then either continue or
- 8:48cause the entire trend to reverse.
- 8:50And then London close is back to, you
- 8:52know, the market being slow again. But,
- 8:54you know, if you are catching like small
- 8:55move, this could be decent for you as
- 8:57well.
- 8:58Each one of these Q zone has its own
- 9:00personality, and you need to make sure
- 9:02that you are matching your expectations
- 9:04to the session that you are trading.
- 9:06What I basically mean by that is that if
- 9:08you are trading EURUSD,
- 9:11you cannot expect to get the same
- 9:13volatility in Asia session as you do in
- 9:16London session. Right? So, for example,
- 9:19if you're trading EURUSD on uh Tuesday,
- 9:22and you trade it during the London Q
- 9:23zone, and price tend to move very, very
- 9:25fast, hit your TP very, very fast. And
- 9:28then on Thursday, you decide to trade
- 9:30EURUSD during the Asia session. And then
- 9:32now you realize that, wait, same setup,
- 9:35same entry model,
- 9:37but why is it taking so long for price
- 9:39to hit TP? Why is price not even hitting
- 9:41TP during this entire Asia session? What
- 9:43is price doing? Why is it so slow? So,
- 9:45that's what I mean when I say that you
- 9:46need to manage your expectation because
- 9:49different currency pairs have a
- 9:51different volatility depending on the
- 9:53session that it's in.
- 9:54Okay. So, different currency pairs move
- 9:56differently at different speed
- 9:59based on the Q zone it's at, right?
- 10:02Based on the the time that you are
- 10:03trading it.
- 10:06So, yeah, don't just uh forget about the
- 10:09timing, right? Make sure that you
- 10:10combine the currency pairs that you are
- 10:12trading with the right time. So, if
- 10:14you're trading the Asia Q zone, then
- 10:16perhaps you want to be trading these
- 10:17pairs. If you're trading the London Q
- 10:19zone, trade these pairs. If you're
- 10:20trading the New York Q zone or the
- 10:22London close, then you want to trade the
- 10:23US dollar pairs.
- 10:25And my best advice for you would be to
- 10:27pick the session which you have
- 10:30your mental faculties, right? Where you
- 10:32have the capacity, the mental bandwidth
- 10:34to actually trade.
- 10:35If you're working a 9-to-5 job
- 10:38based on the Eastern Standard Time,
- 10:40London session might not be for you,
- 10:41right? You might want to trade before
- 10:43you go to your 9-to-5 job, then if
- 10:45that's the case, New York session would
- 10:46be pretty decent for you.
- 10:48Right? Or if you are a single mom with
- 10:50like five kids and you realize that you
- 10:52can't trade in the
- 10:53in the at nights or maybe because you
- 10:55have to put your kids to sleep or
- 10:56whatever, and have to fetch them back
- 10:57from school, then you might want to
- 10:59trade the London session.
- 11:02Right? When you Okay, actually London
- 11:04session wouldn't make sense, right?
- 11:05Maybe cuz like this is 2:00 a.m. to 5:00
- 11:08a.m., so you'll probably be asleep by
- 11:09then. Maybe you want to trade
- 11:11uh during the New York session as well,
- 11:13right? Like in the mornings at in the
- 11:15morning time where you are free. Right?
- 11:16So,
- 11:18I would My best advice would be like
- 11:19find a time in which you can fully focus
- 11:22on the on the charts and just stick to
- 11:24that session. And then once you
- 11:25determine the time you want to trade in,
- 11:27then go and choose the currency pairs in
- 11:29which you want to focus on. So, if you
- 11:32want to trade during the London session,
- 11:34right? If this is the session that you
- 11:35pick, then these are the currency pairs
- 11:37that you want to be trading.
- 11:39Euro and GBP pairs, right? EUR/USD,
- 11:41GBP/USD, GBP/AUD, GBP/JPY if you're
- 11:44feeling a little bit adventurous,
- 11:46right?
- 11:47So, yeah, that's my my best advice.
- 11:49Don't try to trade every pair in every
- 11:50session.
- 11:52Find a session in which you are the most
- 11:54free to trade, and then focus on the
- 11:56currency pairs that is that provides the
- 11:58most amount of trading opportunities
- 12:00during that session. So, now let's go on
- 12:02to the charts.
- 12:04So, there's this indicator that you can
- 12:06use to like just easily identify the Q
- 12:09zone. So, you can just go on to
- 12:10indicators, come here, search in Q
- 12:13zones,
- 12:14and the one that I have on the screen
- 12:16right now is this one right here. ICT Q
- 12:18zones plus pivots, right? So, if you
- 12:20click on that, you have like this little
- 12:25indicators that you can see on the
- 12:26screen right here. Where did it go?
- 12:28There we go. Yep. So, yeah, this is the
- 12:30indicator itself, right? So,
- 12:33if you want to know how to get that
- 12:34indicator, just go search here, type Q
- 12:36zones, and then just click on this one
- 12:38right here. ICT Q zones plus pivot.
- 12:41I personally hate indicators, right?
- 12:43Most of you guys have been watching my
- 12:45video for quite some time, you will know
- 12:46my stance on indicators. I hate them, I
- 12:48don't use them at all, but you know,
- 12:50this is something that can really help
- 12:51you out if you are new to
- 12:54trading, right? If you're new to forex
- 12:55trading and you still can't figure out
- 12:57what time is a Q zone. So, if you step
- 12:59on this indicator, you will be able to
- 13:01see that, okay, this is the New York
- 13:03morning session, this is the New York
- 13:05uh p.m. session, and then this is the
- 13:07London session, the London open to the
- 13:10uh this is the London open low, this is
- 13:11the London open high, this is the Asia
- 13:12high created, Asia low, right? This is
- 13:14the Asia session, right? You can see
- 13:16based on each session, there's a like
- 13:19different move, okay? So, if you look at
- 13:21if you just scan the price action from
- 13:22left to right like what we can see on
- 13:23the screen right here, Asia session,
- 13:25EUR/USD consolidate, okay? Consolidate a
- 13:28little bit,
- 13:29establish the Asia low, establish the
- 13:31Asia high. And then when London session
- 13:33opens, right? This is the overlap
- 13:35between Asia and London session, price
- 13:37came up there, swept the Asia high, and
- 13:40then cause prices start coming down.
- 13:42And then in the London session, price
- 13:44continue going down, and then during the
- 13:45New York session, you can see this is
- 13:47where price retrace a little bit and
- 13:49then continue with the trend direction
- 13:51that was established during the London
- 13:52session.
- 13:53And then so on and so forth. Another
- 13:55example right here.
- 13:57Like I said, don't just
- 13:59depend on these two heavily, right?
- 14:01Because sometimes, depending on the
- 14:03market condition, depending on the
- 14:04context of the market, price will move
- 14:06differently. What I mean by that is that
- 14:08even though the textbook, the law, the
- 14:12theory says that, you know what? EUR/USD
- 14:14is supposed to consolidate during the
- 14:15Asia session.
- 14:16Sometimes, because there's so much
- 14:18momentum, there's so much pressure in
- 14:20the market, so much volume, so much
- 14:22liquidity in the market,
- 14:24it might not want to want to consolidate
- 14:25during the Asia session, right? It might
- 14:27want to actually like trend a little bit
- 14:29during the Asia session.
- 14:31Also, it might not want to move during
- 14:33the London session, and as a result, you
- 14:35will see price consolidate a little bit
- 14:36during the London session.
- 14:38So, use this as a reference, right? But
- 14:40like don't just like use it as a crutch,
- 14:44okay? Like just see the market for what
- 14:45it is, observe the market conditions and
- 14:48trade accordingly. Don't try to
- 14:50anticipate the market, don't try to
- 14:52control the market, don't try to predict
- 14:54the market,
- 14:56observe the market.
- 14:58React to what the market does, okay? So,
- 15:00whatever the market give you, react
- 15:02accordingly.
- 15:04So, in this case, you can see right
- 15:05here, New York session starting going
- 15:07up, right? You can see New York session
- 15:08tends to have a lot of liquidity, and
- 15:09Asia session starts slowing down again,
- 15:11right? You can see the volatility starts
- 15:13slowing down again, London session start
- 15:15picking up the volatility, and then
- 15:17another example right here, New York
- 15:18session over here, so on and so forth.
- 15:23Okay, so a lot of beginners, what they
- 15:24tend to do is that number one, they tend
- 15:27to trade all day long, right? They will
- 15:28wake up at 9:00 a.m., they go on to
- 15:30their charts, and then they trade all
- 15:32the way to 9:00 p.m.
- 15:35I learned this the hard way. I know this
- 15:37from like first-hand experience, because
- 15:39that was what I used to do as well. You
- 15:41know, I'll wake up in the morning, first
- 15:43thing I do, go on to the charts with a
- 15:44cup of coffee coffee and just like stare
- 15:46at the charts all day long.
- 15:49I was so addicted to staring at the
- 15:50charts that I don't even dare to go to
- 15:52the toilet.
- 15:54And what happens to happen is that when
- 15:56you do that, you might make money during
- 15:58the Asia session in the morning,
- 16:00but then if you continue trading the
- 16:02London session
- 16:03and then the New York session, what
- 16:04tends to happen is that whatever money
- 16:06that you made from the Asia session, you
- 16:08give it back to the market during the
- 16:09London session.
- 16:11And then London session, you start
- 16:12feeling emotional, and then start
- 16:14revenge trading, overtrading, and then
- 16:16now
- 16:17you lose money,
- 16:19and now you're down bad for the New York
- 16:21session.
- 16:22And then maybe in New York session, you
- 16:24make back a little bit of money. And
- 16:25then tomorrow during the Asia session,
- 16:26you you lose money again. And then
- 16:28London session, you make money, New York
- 16:29session, you lose money. It's just this
- 16:31cycle of like unprofitability that I
- 16:33can't seem to get out of because you are
- 16:35trading way too much.
- 16:37Okay, the cost of overtrading is you
- 16:40give back your profits back to the
- 16:41market, and the hidden cost of
- 16:43overtrading is that you start to feel
- 16:45analysis paralysis,
- 16:47which means you analyze the charts so
- 16:49damn much
- 16:51that you just can't think clearly
- 16:52anymore. Right? You can't establish a
- 16:54trend direction, you are lost and
- 16:56confused in the market because your mind
- 16:57is just so worn out. You are just so
- 17:00tired.
- 17:02So, don't try to like trade all day.
- 17:04Instead, what you want to do is to pick
- 17:05the session in which you want to focus
- 17:07on, and like I said, trade the pairs
- 17:09that provide you the most amount of
- 17:11opportunities during that session.
- 17:20All right, so now I'm going to give you
- 17:21guys like a very systematic framework
- 17:23that you guys can follow like step by
- 17:25step to apply this right here.
- 17:28Step one is to come here
- 17:31and determine which session you want to
- 17:32be trading, okay? Like whether that's
- 17:34the London session,
- 17:36the New York Q zone or the Asia Q zone,
- 17:39whatever it is, pick the Q zone you
- 17:41which you want to focus on.
- 17:43Right? Just just pick one.
- 17:45Once again, if you don't know which one
- 17:46to pick, ask yourself which one is the
- 17:49best for my lifestyle.
- 17:52Which one is the most sustainable to me?
- 17:55Which one can I stick to for the
- 17:56longest? Right? Whichever your answer
- 17:58is, choose that one.
- 18:00Once you choose the session, then you
- 18:02want to choose the pairs in which you
- 18:04want to be focusing on.
- 18:06Right? So, if you choose London session,
- 18:07then you want to focus on EUR/USD,
- 18:09GBP/USD. If you choose New York session,
- 18:12you want to focus on
- 18:13anything that have USD inside, right?
- 18:16EUR/USD works, GBP/USD works,
- 18:19anything that have US dollar inside.
- 18:22And then once you have these two steps
- 18:24in place, then you want to be focused on
- 18:26trading that session, right? So, during
- 18:292:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Eastern Standard
- 18:31Time, let's say you're trading the
- 18:32London Q zone, you want to come down
- 18:34here to EUR/USD chart, and you want to
- 18:37develop your higher time frame trade
- 18:38bias.
- 18:39And then you want to go to the medium
- 18:41time frame, map out your point of
- 18:42interest, map out your supply and demand
- 18:43zones, whatever. And then once price
- 18:45step into those zones, you go down to
- 18:47the lower time frame, and you search for
- 18:49entry model, you search for your entry
- 18:50confirmation.
- 18:52So, whatever that we have learned so
- 18:53far, right? The multi-time frame
- 18:55analysis, you know, the supply and
- 18:57demand zones, all that stuff, you want
- 18:59to apply it
- 19:01on the session in which you choose to
- 19:03focus on.
- 19:07And then you just wait for your entry
- 19:09confirmation to appear during that
- 19:10session, during that Q zone. And when it
- 19:12does, right? Like for example, let's say
- 19:14this is a trading opportunity, you see
- 19:16it during your Q zone, you execute the
- 19:18trade. You enter the trade with
- 19:20confidence.
- 19:22Right? You wait for a price delivery,
- 19:23right? You wait for a liquidity sweep,
- 19:25market shift, whatever, whatever, you
- 19:27wait for entry model.
- 19:29If it appears, you enter into the
- 19:30market.
- 19:32If it doesn't appear during your Q zone,
- 19:35do nothing.
- 19:38Okay? Do nothing. Do not force a trade.
- 19:41If price haven't get to your desired
- 19:43price point
- 19:44and your entry confirmation haven't
- 19:46appear, stay out of the market.
- 19:49All right, so during this 2:00 a.m. to
- 19:515:00 a.m.,
- 19:52if your trading opportunity appear, if
- 19:54your entry confirmation is present in
- 19:56the market, go and take the trade with
- 19:57confidence.
- 19:59Trusting that it's going to play out
- 20:01because there's sufficient liquidity and
- 20:02volatility in the market, and you've
- 20:04done sufficient preparation.
- 20:07If your opportunity does not appear, you
- 20:09stay out of the market. So, you don't
- 20:11trade.
- 20:12And then tomorrow, you do the same thing
- 20:13again. You show up at this time, this
- 20:16period right here, scan the the charts,
- 20:18look for trading opportunities. If there
- 20:20is, enter. If there isn't,
- 20:22chill, right? Relax, do nothing. And
- 20:25then the next day do it again. And do
- 20:26that all the way from Monday to Friday.
- 20:30So, yeah. That's the power of like Q
- 20:33zones. Majority of my trades, like I
- 20:35mentioned, is taken during the London Q
- 20:38zone itself.
- 20:40Right?
- 20:41With that being said,
- 20:42I just want to say that one of the
- 20:44biggest mistake that traders tend to
- 20:45make is trading outside of their edge.
- 20:49That is exactly why inside Edge Flow,
- 20:51right, which is my trading super app, we
- 20:52have actually built a feature that
- 20:55allows you to define your own trading
- 20:57window. So, you can literally determine
- 20:59when to trade and when not to trade, as
- 21:01you can see right here.
- 21:04So, for example, if you want to trade
- 21:05during the London Q zone, which for me
- 21:08is going to be the 2:00 p.m. to 5:00
- 21:11p.m. Singapore time, I'll just come in
- 21:12here and set it to like 2:00 p.m.
- 21:15to 5:00 p.m.
- 21:18Right, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- 21:21And if right now it's not 2:00 p.m.,
- 21:24this trade button will be blocked,
- 21:26right? This trade button will literally
- 21:28be grayed out, and I will not be able to
- 21:30open a trade.
- 21:32So, Edge Flow literally forces me to
- 21:34just trade during my Q zone, just trade
- 21:36during the London Q zone itself.
- 21:39This is such a useful feature to have
- 21:40because when you have such a guardrail
- 21:43in place, you're not relying on
- 21:45discipline. You are just implementing
- 21:48that discipline into your trading system
- 21:50itself.
- 21:52You won't have the urge to trade the
- 21:53Asian session. You won't have the urge
- 21:55to overtrade during the New York session
- 21:57because you can't. You physically can't
- 21:59press the trade button.
- 22:03So, yeah. That's just one of the many
- 22:05cool features that we have inside Edge
- 22:06Flow. So, if you want to stick to a
- 22:09certain trading window, and you find
- 22:11yourself
- 22:12not being able to do so because you got
- 22:14itchy fingers, or because you are bored
- 22:16and you want to make money for the day
- 22:17itself, you might want to try out Edge
- 22:19Flow. Like, try to guardrails and build
- 22:22these guardrails into your system
- 22:24itself.
- 22:26So, with that being said,
- 22:28just understand that Q zones, all of
- 22:30this stuff is cool, right? But, it's not
- 22:32just going to magically make you
- 22:33profitable. It's not like, "Oh, I just
- 22:35need to trade EUR/USD during the London
- 22:37Q zone. I just need to buy when that
- 22:40happens, and then I will make money
- 22:41automatically." No, that's not how it
- 22:43works.
- 22:44Once again, it works best when you
- 22:45combine your multi-timeframe analysis
- 22:48and other market mechanics concepts like
- 22:50auto blocks, premium and discount,
- 22:51supply and demand, so and so forth.
- 22:54Q zones does not replace your entry
- 22:56confirmation. It does not replace your
- 22:58entry model. It does not replace your
- 23:00higher timeframe
- 23:02bias, your immediate bias.
- 23:04It just help you improve the timing of
- 23:06your entry model.
- 23:08So, like I said earlier, if you found
- 23:10the entry trigger
- 23:12at the right time, compared to if you
- 23:14find it at the wrong time, it can make a
- 23:15big difference.
- 23:17You finding at the right time will allow
- 23:20your trade to go to TP very very fast.
- 23:22You finding at the wrong time will allow
- 23:24the trade to maybe stall a little bit,
- 23:26or maybe not even hit your TP at all.
- 23:29So, the Q zones is the timing part of
- 23:31the equation.
- 23:33Remember, success in trading equal
- 23:36developing the right trade ideal
- 23:38at the right place at the right time.
- 23:42The right place is all about your supply
- 23:44and demand zones, your auto blocks, your
- 23:45point of interest. The right time is
- 23:48about Q zone.
- 23:49It's about trading during the Q zone
- 23:52where institutions are the most active.
- 23:55And then later on, where we talk about
- 23:57liquidity concepts, this is where we
- 23:59will talk more about how to trade
- 24:01in a much more precise manner.
- 24:04Okay, so just to sum up everything that
- 24:05we have learned so far, to keep it
- 24:07simple, Forex market is open 24 hours a
- 24:09day, but not every hour give you the
- 24:11same quality of opportunity.
- 24:14The best setups usually appear during
- 24:16our Q zones, right? The London Q zone,
- 24:19the Asia Q zone, and the New York Q zone
- 24:22itself.
- 24:25And also the what's that one? London
- 24:27close. Yeah, London close.
- 24:29And then based on the Q zone in which
- 24:31you are selecting, choose to focus on
- 24:34the currency pairs that provides the
- 24:36most amount of trading opportunities
- 24:37during that Q zone.
- 24:38So, Asia Q zone will be the AUD, NZD,
- 24:41and JPY. London Q zone will be EUR and
- 24:44GBP. New York Q zone will be
- 24:47the USD pairs, right? Same as the London
- 24:49close.
- 24:51The goal is not to trade all day. The
- 24:53goal is to trade the right windows
- 24:55because I want you guys to remember
- 24:57this, all right? In trading,
- 24:59you don't get paid for how hard you
- 25:02work. You don't get paid for
- 25:04the amount of hours you put in on the
- 25:06charts.
- 25:08You get paid based on your decisions.
- 25:14You get paid for making the right
- 25:16decisions.
- 25:18Okay, so it's not about working hard.
- 25:19It's not about like sitting over here,
- 25:20slaving your ass off,
- 25:22trading for 12 hours a day.
- 25:25Hell, I trade like less than a few hours
- 25:28a week, and I still make six figures a
- 25:30month consistently.
- 25:33And it's not because I'm working any
- 25:36harder than you are. I'm working
- 25:37smarter. I know how to identify my trade
- 25:41bias, and I know how to position myself
- 25:45at the right time
- 25:46to, once again, capitalize on the luck
- 25:48itself.
- 25:50Yeah, so you don't see me like slaving
- 25:51on my charts every day, you know, having
- 25:53like red, bloodshot eyes. No, I'm chill,
- 25:55man. I'm living my life. I know what
- 25:57trading is for. Trading is for me to
- 26:01live a life of freedom, not for me to be
- 26:03a slave to the charts.
- 26:05After all, like, that's why we started
- 26:06trading in the first place, right?
- 26:08So,
- 26:09yeah, focus on one session, right? One Q
- 26:12zone. And if you want something to
- 26:14enforce it, if you want a trading app to
- 26:16enforce it, try Edge Flow. Link in the
- 26:18description.
- 26:21So, with that being said, I hope you
- 26:22guys have enjoyed this episode itself. I
- 26:25look forward to speaking to you guys in
- 26:26the next episode, and as always,
- 26:28remember, you're just one trade away.
- 26:31Mwah.
