2. 0:03staff's distress I do it myself and
3. 0:05because we need a little humor I'm even
4. 0:08married to a 91 year old man that's the
5. 0:10king of Twitter but I know Facebook's
6. 0:12value I've used it for a long time but
7. 0:15with that value also comes obligation
8. 0:18we've all been sitting here for more
9. 0:20than four hours but some things are
10. 0:23striking during this conversation as CEO
11. 0:27you didn't know some key facts you
12. 0:31didn't know about major court cases
13. 0:32regarding your privacy policies against
14. 0:35your company you didn't know that the
15. 0:38FTC doesn't have fining authority and
16. 0:41that Facebook could not have received
17. 0:43fines for the 2011 consent order you
18. 0:47didn't know what a shadow profile was
19. 0:50you didn't know how many apps you need
20. 0:53to audit you did not know how many other
21. 0:56firms have been sold data by dr. Cogan
22. 0:59other than Cambridge analytical and
23. 1:02annoy acknowledge EES even though you
24. 1:04were asked that question yesterday and
25. 1:06yes we were all paying attention
26. 1:08yesterday you don't even know all the
27. 1:11kinds of information Facebook is
28. 1:14collecting from its own users here's
29. 1:17what I do know you have trackers all
30. 1:21over the web and practically every
31. 1:24website you go to we all see the
32. 1:27Facebook like our Facebook share buttons
33. 1:30and with the Facebook pixel people
34. 1:33browsing the Internet may not even see
35. 1:36that Facebook logo it doesn't matter
36. 1:39whether you have a Facebook account
37. 1:41through those tools Facebook is able to
38. 1:44collect information from all of us so I
39. 1:48want to ask you how many Facebook like
40. 1:51buttons are there on non Facebook web
41. 1:54pages congresswoman I don't know the
42. 1:58answer to that off the top of my head
43. 1:59but we'll get back to you it's the
44. 2:01number over a hundred million I believe
45. 2:04we've served the like button on pages
46. 2:06more than that but I don't know the
47. 2:09number of pages that have the like
48. 2:10button on actively how many face
49. 2:13share buttons are there unnhhh on
50. 2:15facebook web pages I don't know the
51. 2:18answer to that exactly off the top of my
52. 2:20head either but that's something that we
53. 2:21can follow up with your on and we think
54. 2:25that's over a hundred million likely how
55. 2:29many chunks of Facebook pixel code are
56. 2:32there unnhhh on facebook web pages
57. 2:35congresswoman you're asking some
58. 2:37specific stats that I don't know off the
59. 2:39top of my head but we can follow up with
60. 2:41you and get back to you on all of these
61. 2:42can you commit to get back to the
62. 2:44committee the European Union is asking
63. 2:47for 72 hours on transparency do you
64. 2:50think we could get that back in
65. 2:51committee in 72 hours congresswoman I
66. 2:54will talk to my team and we will follow
67. 2:56up I know you're still reviewing but do
68. 2:59you know now whether there are other
69. 3:01fourth parties that had access to the
70. 3:03data from someone other than dr. Kogan
71. 3:05or is this something we're gonna find
72. 3:08out in a press release down the road I
73. 3:10think what worries all of us and you've
74. 3:12heard it today is it has taken almost
75. 3:15three years to hear about that and I am
76. 3:18convinced that there are other people
77. 3:20out there
78. 3:21congresswoman as I've said a number of
79. 3:24times we're now going to investigate
80. 3:25every single app that had access to a
81. 3:27large amount of people's information in
82. 3:29the past before we lock down the
83. 3:30platform I do imagine that we will find
84. 3:33some apps that that we're either doing
85. 3:36something suspicious or misuse people's
86. 3:38data if we find them then we will ban
87. 3:41them from the platform I'm take action
88. 3:43to make sure that they delete the data
89. 3:44and make sure that everyone involved is
90. 3:46informed and you make it public quickly
91. 3:48not three years sooner you find them so
92. 3:52I just I'm gonna conclude cuz my time is
93. 3:54almost up that I worry that when I hear
94. 3:56companies value our privacy that's meant
95. 3:59in monetary terms not in the moral
96. 4:01obligation to protect it data protection
97. 4:04and privacy are like clean air and clean
98. 4:06water there need to be clear rules of
99. 4:09the road
