- 0:03Hello adorers and welcome to this point
- 0:05of sale tutorial. Businesses often reach
- 0:07a stage where handling different types
- 0:09of orders becomes a necessity. If you
- 0:11run a restaurant, you might want to
- 0:13handle takeout and delivery orders in
- 0:15addition to dining in. Take Belgium for
- 0:17example. Juggling from a takeout order
- 0:19to a delivery implies adjusting the tax
- 0:22rates. This is when presets come into
- 0:24play. So thanks to a do point of sale,
- 0:26you can easily create, edit, and use
- 0:28presets to handle all these different
- 0:30scenarios. Today, we'll start by
- 0:32showcasing the preset configuration
- 0:34form, followed by a demonstration. So if
- 0:37you're ready, we'll go ahead and dive
- 0:39right into it.
- 0:42So the good news is that if your point
- 0:43of sale is set up as a restaurant, the
- 0:46presets are preconfigured and ready to
- 0:48use. Let me show you. So we'll go into
- 0:50point of sale configuration and
- 0:52settings. And under the point of sales
- 0:54section here, you will find the
- 0:56automatically enabled takeout delivery
- 0:59member setting which includes the
- 1:01available presets for dining in, takeout
- 1:04and delivery orders. So din is selected
- 1:08by default as naturally you would kind
- 1:10of expect your guests to eat on site at
- 1:12your restaurant. But you can of course
- 1:14adapt the default preset to suit your
- 1:16preferences. It could be something else
- 1:18here. Now let's take a look at the
- 1:21configuration of our takeout preset. So
- 1:24I will click here on configure presets
- 1:26and I will go into takeout.
- 1:29So I can immediately select some of my
- 1:31options here. And you can um I could
- 1:34choose a price list if I wanted to. I
- 1:36don't want to do this right now. But
- 1:38more importantly I will select a fiscal
- 1:41position from the drop down here. This
- 1:43is something that is particularly useful
- 1:45in some countries. for example, here in
- 1:47Belgium as it allows you to adapt your
- 1:49tax rates depending on the order type.
- 1:52So I will go ahead and choose takeout
- 1:54here from the list.
- 1:56And then another thing that is important
- 1:58for my takeout uh preset is the
- 2:01identification field here as it lets you
- 2:03associate a customer with your order. U
- 2:07so here it is set to name as I would
- 2:10like to know my customer's name at the
- 2:12pickup zone. is the easiest way to
- 2:14identify which order should go to which
- 2:16customer. So I will say leave it as it
- 2:18is. And then I have another option here
- 2:21the manage orders by time. Uh this is
- 2:24the option that lets me determine how
- 2:26many orders can be prepared within a
- 2:28given time frame. So I will enable it
- 2:32and this will make the schedule tab show
- 2:35up here um as it is linked to my
- 2:38restaurant schedule of course. So here
- 2:40if I click on schedule you will see that
- 2:42by default this has been um uh this is
- 2:45displayed as my restaurant opening time
- 2:47which is great but of course I could
- 2:48have a little bit of a different
- 2:50schedule and configure that if I wanted
- 2:51to.
- 2:53I will leave it as is. And then the
- 2:55other option that became available for
- 2:57me to fill in is the preparation
- 2:58capacity. So by default this is set to
- 3:02five orders per 20 minutes. But before I
- 3:05but because I have a sense that my
- 3:07kitchen team is feeling very energetic
- 3:09today, I will actually increase their
- 3:12preparation capacity to seven orders uh
- 3:15for every 20 minutes.
- 3:18And if we move on uh to the other tab
- 3:21here, the self-ordering tab, um I will
- 3:24also have some options here to determine
- 3:26for example the available in self. Now
- 3:29this makes the preset available on
- 3:31self-ordering devices such as kiosks or
- 3:34mobile devices. Now this was enabled by
- 3:36default and I will keep it as it is.
- 3:39Here I can also specify where the order
- 3:42should be served uh which in this case
- 3:44is a pickup zone but it could also be
- 3:47served at the table or in delivery. Of
- 3:49course we'll leave it on pickup zone.
- 3:52And the last thing that I could choose
- 3:54here is uh sending a confirmation email
- 3:58when a takeout order is processed. So
- 4:00this is configured here and that's
- 4:02great. Now I have one more tab right
- 4:06here which is the options tab. And here
- 4:08I have a guest checkbox which allows me
- 4:11to add the number of guests when placing
- 4:14a dining order. Now this is not
- 4:16something that concerns me for my
- 4:18takeout order. I don't need to know how
- 4:20many guests are going to enjoy the pizza
- 4:22that they're ordered for example. So I
- 4:24will leave this um unselected.
- 4:26[clears throat]
- 4:28And then finally one more thing uh
- 4:30considering uh all of our presets
- 4:32actually is the return mode option here.
- 4:36This is something that restrict
- 4:37restricts the preset to processing
- 4:40returns only. Now, I will leave this
- 4:42unicked uh because this is something
- 4:44that would turn all of my prices
- 4:46negative. Uh which is why if I wanted to
- 4:49use it, I would actually create a
- 4:50separate preset just for this. Um but
- 4:54also it's something that's more useful
- 4:56for environments like a restaurant uh
- 4:58like excuse me a shop um rather than a
- 5:02restaurant because in a shop I'm much
- 5:03more likely to process more returns than
- 5:06in a restaurant.
- 5:08Perfect. So my preset is all configured.
- 5:11I will save it here and let's go ahead
- 5:14and take it for a spin.
- 5:18All right. So now that we have seen the
- 5:20preset configuration form, let's go
- 5:21ahead and put everything into practice.
- 5:24So we're going to go to our dashboard
- 5:26and we're going to open or continue
- 5:28selling in our restaurant. And what I'm
- 5:30going to do is process a direct sales
- 5:32order. So I don't need a table here.
- 5:34I'll just click on new order. And you
- 5:36can see the default preset at the bottom
- 5:39of my register is set to dine in right
- 5:42here. But let's imagine something else.
- 5:44Let's say that a customer calls and
- 5:46would like to place an order for let's
- 5:49say a pasta bolognza and a soda. So I
- 5:52will select the products I added them to
- 5:54my cart. And then I would just click on
- 5:57the preset button right here and I will
- 5:59switch to takeout.
- 6:02Let's add my customer's name. Let's say
- 6:04that uh Sam Wise is calling and I will
- 6:07go ahead and click apply. And the next
- 6:10thing that I have to do is choose uh a
- 6:12time slot for when they will come and
- 6:14pick up their order. So let's choose
- 6:16from here and we'll say 12:40.
- 6:19Perfect. And then you will notice that
- 6:21the tax rate here has actually been
- 6:23automatically applied as soon as we
- 6:26switched from dining in to takeout. So
- 6:27that's great. And I will go ahead and
- 6:30hit send. And voila, my order is sent to
- 6:33the kitchen and the customer can come
- 6:35and collect it whenever it's ready. Now,
- 6:38let's say that we receive a delivery
- 6:40request for something else. So, I will
- 6:42go ahead and hit another new order. And
- 6:45we will choose uh two club sandwiches
- 6:47here and two milkshakes.
- 6:51And again, I have this by default set to
- 6:54dine in, but I will choose the delivery
- 6:56preset this time. And as you can see,
- 6:59now I'm asked for something else. I'm
- 7:01asked to create or choose a customer
- 7:03from the list because the identification
- 7:05for the delivery preset is actually
- 7:07based on the customer's address, which
- 7:08makes sense, right? So, I will choose
- 7:11Patrice here from the list
- 7:13[clears throat]
- 7:14and I'll go ahead and send my order to
- 7:16the kitchen. Again, easy. So, remember
- 7:19that once uh you have your presets
- 7:22going, you might also want to edit them
- 7:24at some point or create some additional
- 7:27ones as needed. Um, so in order to do
- 7:30that, I would just go to my back end and
- 7:32then I could click on configuration and
- 7:34find my presets very easily here. I
- 7:37could create a new one or edit any of
- 7:39the existing preconfigured ones just
- 7:41like we did before. All right, so that's
- 7:44it for using presets in Odo. I hope this
- 7:47was helpful for you and uh leave any
- 7:50questions that you might have in the
- 7:51comments. Thank you so much for
- 7:53watching. We will see you in the next
- 7:54one.
