Make It Work For You — Transcript

- 0:00I haven't had an ounce of motivation in
- 0:03months. Not just to do productive things
- 0:05that are going to allow me to better
- 0:07myself and achieve my goals, but even to
- 0:09do the things that most people consider
- 0:11to be fun. Haven't wanted to watch TV.
- 0:14Haven't wanted to go anywhere. Haven't
- 0:16wanted to eat at restaurants, whatever
- 0:18the case may be. And I damn sure haven't
- 0:20felt like getting up early, going to the
- 0:23gym, working, or any of that. And that
- 0:27lack of motivation that everybody
- 0:29complains about is exactly what it is
- 0:31that has allowed me to continue waking
- 0:34up early, going to the gym, working, and
- 0:37doing all other sorts of things that I
- 0:39don't feel like doing. Even wrote a
- 0:41book. You should get that. It's amazing.
- 0:43But back to my point, it is this lack of
- 0:46motivation that has allowed me to do all
- 0:48of these things. Because if everything
- 0:51that I'm doing sucks regardless, if I
- 0:54don't feel like doing anything, if I
- 0:56don't feel like being productive or
- 0:57having fun, why not be productive? And
- 1:00this is the mistake that people make in
- 1:02thinking that they are supposed to feel
- 1:04good while they do everything. That's
- 1:06absolute nonsense. People complain about
- 1:09their depression and how they feel awful
- 1:12and how life seems pointless and they
- 1:14don't enjoy doing anything. But if you
- 1:16don't enjoy doing anything, why not do
- 1:19the things that are going to better
- 1:20yourself? If you hate everything that
- 1:23you have going on anyway, why not do the
- 1:25more difficult thing? It's all going to
- 1:27suck. Whether you're watching a movie or
- 1:30building a business, it's going to suck.
- 1:32Whether you are playing video games or
- 1:35going to the gym, so why not do the
- 1:37thing that will better yourself? It is
- 1:39those negative feelings towards life
- 1:43that will allow you to make the best out
- 1:45of life because then you're not faced
- 1:47with the option of having fun or being
- 1:49productive. All of it sucks. So, you
- 1:51might as well build yourself because
- 1:52eventually you will stop feeling
- 1:54terrible. And when you stop feeling
- 1:56terrible, then you will have built up a
- 1:58bunch of stuff that you could be proud
- 1:59of and that will make you feel a bunch
- 2:01better than if you have just wasted
- 2:03days, weeks, months, or even years just
- 2:06sleeping in, playing video games, and
- 2:07eating a bunch of nonsense. All bad
- 2:10feelings are temporary. They are all all
- 2:12fleeting. Much like the weather, it is
- 2:14not going to rain for forever, and you
- 2:16are not going to be sad forever. So,
- 2:19while you're sad, do the things that are
- 2:21going to make you feel good when you're
- 2:23not sad. be productive, build on things,
- 2:28work on advancing your life and building
- 2:29your bank account and building your body
- 2:31and improving your mindset. And it is
- 2:34also these things that are going to help
- 2:35those bad feelings go away for good in
- 2:38or at least as much for good as they
- 2:41possibly can. It's impossible to feel
- 2:43good forever. But it is the productivity
- 2:45that is going to get rid of the feeling
- 2:47of pointlessness in your life. If you're
- 2:49depressed, it's because you are doing
- 2:50depressing things. It is because you are
- 2:52living a depressing life. is because you
- 2:54are not doing the things that you are
- 2:55supposed to do. So the more that you do
- 2:57these things, the more that you will
- 3:00stop feeling terrible because you will
- 3:02start becoming the person that you are
- 3:04supposed to be and these feelings will
- 3:06go away. This applies to all things. But
- 3:09people use these things that they come
- 3:11up with or that they have that they're
- 3:13dealing with for the dumbest stuff.
- 3:15People feel depressed and they lay in
- 3:16bed all day doing nothing. But they also
- 3:18do not enjoy laying in bed all day. The
- 3:21logic of I hate doing everything so I'm
- 3:24going to do nothing even though doing
- 3:26nothing is also something I do not enjoy
- 3:28is the logic of a stupid person. If you
- 3:30hate doing everything then do the things
- 3:33that are better for you. Whatever the
- 3:35case may be whatever bad thing it bad
- 3:36thing it is that you feel that you are
- 3:38going through you can make it into a
- 3:39good thing. You can make it into a
- 3:40positive. You can make it into something
- 3:42to build yourself up. People whine about
- 3:44their trauma and their bad life
- 3:46experiences, but whoever is responsible
- 3:48for those bad childhood experiences,
- 3:51assuming it's not you, which it probably
- 3:54is, but that's fine. Let's assume you
- 3:55had a terrible childhood. Say your
- 3:57parents beat you. They have done you a
- 3:59favor because you can sit there and
- 4:02bring up those old memories. Oh,
- 4:04remember when my parents used to beat
- 4:05me? You know what that is? Much worse
- 4:07than going to the gym. So, when you
- 4:09don't feel like going to the gym,
- 4:10remember all of the bad stuff that
- 4:12you've been through. Remember getting
- 4:13beaten by your parents or molested by
- 4:15your uncle or whatever other nonsense it
- 4:17is that you are still crying about
- 4:20because comparatively none of the stuff
- 4:22that you need to do that's going to give
- 4:23you the life that you want is as
- 4:25difficult as that. I would imagine that
- 4:27being molested as a child is much more
- 4:29difficult than working when you don't
- 4:30feel like working. I would imagine that
- 4:32getting beaten by your parents every day
- 4:34is much more difficult than going and
- 4:35lifting some weights when you don't feel
- 4:37like lifting weights. The people who
- 4:39have wronged you have given you the gift
- 4:42of context because now you have a thing
- 4:45to compare all of your experiences to.
- 4:48You have a thing to compare all of the
- 4:50things that you don't feel like doing
- 4:52to. It is much easier to get out of bed
- 4:54in the morning than it is to deal with
- 4:56getting your heart broken. It is much
- 4:58easier to work on some project that's
- 5:00going to make you some money than it is
- 5:03to be
- 5:05abandoned when you were young or live in
- 5:08the foster home or whatever other
- 5:10whatever other nonsense it is. Take
- 5:12whatever experience it is that you have
- 5:13had and compare them to now. And that
- 5:16will give you again the context of
- 5:18knowing that what you have going on now
- 5:20is not actually that difficult. It is
- 5:23not that bad. So, if you can survive all
- 5:25of this other difficult stuff, then you
- 5:27can survive doing what it is that you
- 5:28need to do now. And these are the things
- 5:30that are going to put you in a position
- 5:32where you aren't even focused on your
- 5:35past anymore. Because if you had a good
- 5:36present, why would you care about your
- 5:38past? You're only dwelling on things
- 5:40that's happening that have happened
- 5:42because you have nothing happening right
- 5:44now. But when you replace all of this
- 5:46current nothingness with positivity and
- 5:48growth and building, then all of that
- 5:50other stuff doesn't seem so bad anymore.
- 5:52People talk about their quote unquote
- 5:55insomnia, which I am fully under the
- 5:57belief that that is entirely a choice.
- 5:59But let's say you do have insomnia.
- 6:01Instead of laying awake in bed all night
- 6:03like a dumbass, being mad that you can't
- 6:05go to sleep and being upset that you're
- 6:08going to be tired the next day, go do
- 6:10some push-ups. Go to the gym. Go do some
- 6:13work. Go read a book. Do something
- 6:16that's going to enhance your life
- 6:18experiences. You can't go to sleep
- 6:21anyway. So why lay there and be mad
- 6:23about it? Those are the actions of an
- 6:25idiot. And idiots never get to where it
- 6:27is that they would like to go because
- 6:28they are too stupid to identify and
- 6:30follow the path. If you do have
- 6:33insomnia, then God has given you extra
- 6:37time. Because what does everybody say? I
- 6:39am too busy to do a thing. But if you
- 6:42have a whole entire 8 hours or four of
- 6:45the eight hours, however long it is that
- 6:46you can't sleep, you have bonus time
- 6:48that everyone else does not have when
- 6:51you can figure out a way to do all of
- 6:53these things. And you can get much
- 6:55farther ahead than you would if you were
- 6:57just laying there being mad about not
- 6:59going to sleep or popping some pills or
- 7:01drinking or uh smoking some weed or
- 7:04whatever other nonsense it is that
- 7:05people do to cope with what is not a
- 7:08problem. Things are only problems if you
- 7:10decide to call them problems. And that
- 7:14is where everyone messes up is they call
- 7:17all of these things problems rather than
- 7:19figuring out how it is that they can
- 7:21work for them. If you have anxiety,
- 7:26great, amazing. Rather than just trying
- 7:27to pop pills and make the feeling go
- 7:29away, then listen to what your anxiety
- 7:31is telling you and then go work on that
- 7:33area and then you won't have anxiety
- 7:35about that thing anymore. This is a
- 7:36little indicator in your brain saying,
- 7:38"Hey, level up in this area of life.
- 7:40Level up this skill set. You could do
- 7:41this better. You could do that better."
- 7:43Whatever the case may be. This is a
- 7:45little road map. It's like the if you
- 7:46play video games, the little
- 7:49character creation slider thingies where
- 7:52you got like your attributes or
- 7:53whatever. I haven't played video game in
- 7:54mad long. I don't know how they work
- 7:56right now, but I'm assuming that it's
- 7:58still similar to that or at least once
- 7:59upon a time it was. But these are little
- 8:01indicators saying, "Hey, bring up these
- 8:03things." That is exactly what your
- 8:04anxiety is. It is not something to
- 8:05complain about. It is something to use.
- 8:08All of these things are something to
- 8:10use. Because at the end of the day, you
- 8:13do not need to feel good in order to get
- 8:15anything done. Weight weighs what weight
- 8:18weighs, whether you were sad or happy
- 8:20while you were lifting it. So, go lift
- 8:22it. Go get it done. And once you put
- 8:24yourself into a better situation, you
- 8:26will understand that anything can be
- 8:29used to your advantage. And none of
- 8:31these things that were pro that were
- 8:32once problems will seem like they are
- 8:34still problems anymore because you will
- 8:36have solved them rather than whining
- 8:38about them like everybody else does. So
- 8:40whatever it is that you are going
- 8:41through, figure out how can I use this
- 8:43to my benefit. There is always an answer
- 8:45to that. Just like I said in the very
- 8:47beginning, I was motivated to do
- 8:48absolutely nothing. Nothing fun, nothing
- 8:51productive. So I did productive things
- 8:53because I didn't want to do any of it
- 8:55anyway. If I'm sad or unhappy or
- 8:57whatever the case may be while I'm doing
- 8:59all things, why would I not do things
- 9:01that are a net positive? Why would I
- 9:03waste time if I'm just as unhappy
- 9:06wasting time as using the time
- 9:08productively, which is what stupid
- 9:10people do? Once again, I am not a stupid
- 9:12person. So, next time you are going
- 9:14through things, you are feeling
- 9:15something, feeling some sort of way, ask
- 9:17yourself, am I a stupid person?
