Full transcript
- 0:01ABBY LEE MILLER (VOICEOVER): Previously on "Dance Moms."
- 0:02ABBY LEE MILLER: Sophia, you were doing a solo.
- 0:06Everybody knows that Melissa will
- 0:08do whatever it takes to have her kids number one in Abby's eyes.
- 0:12What are you people doing?
- 0:13I've probably cleaned this place up 12 times.
- 0:16There are too many people in this dance.
- 0:18Brooke, you're out.
- 0:21Chloe is your student.
- 0:23You are a plagiarist, because that little girl is
- 0:25somebody else's student and you just put her name on her back.
- 0:28You're ridiculous.
- 0:29Chloe was awful today.
- 0:32ABBY LEE MILLER (VOICEOVER): Coming up on "Dance Moms."
- 0:35Sophia is on top of the pyramid
- 0:36and she's not even here.
- 0:38My next routine will be a duet with Maddie and Kendall.
- 0:44What did you think about the duet?
- 0:46Not happy about that, but.
- 0:48Abby told me last night that you weren't happy about doing
- 0:51a duet with Kendall.
- 0:52You can believe whatever you want to, Jill.
- 0:55Kendall, are you going to admit
- 0:57that you screwed the whole dance up and that you were off?
- 0:59You have picked on her the entire week about it.
- 1:02Kiss my butt.
- 1:04[music continuing]
- 1:07(SINGING) Get up.
- 1:09Get on the floor.
- 1:11My world is with my girls living on the dance floor.
- 1:24ABBY LEE MILLER: Come on ladies, let's go.
- 1:29All righty.
- 1:32We went to Youngstown, Ohio to Intensity Dance.
- 1:35We won.
- 1:36ANNOUNCER: Highest scoring group, Red Carpet Special.
- 1:42We should have won.
- 1:43You're national champions.
- 1:45Let's move on to the pyramid.
- 1:48I have Chloe.
- 1:50Chloe, remembering your choreography,
- 1:53that is what you need to work on.
- 1:55Write it down.
- 1:56Maybe if you write it out, it'll sink in.
- 2:00Try that.
- 2:01This week, Abby has Chloe at the bottom of the pyramid
- 2:02because she forgot her solo.
- 2:04And you know what?
- 2:05For once, I can't really argue with Abby because Chloe did
- 2:08forget her solo, and she's getting older
- 2:10and she needs to take responsibility for her actions.
- 2:13She forgot.
- 2:15Next, Mia.
- 2:18Mia, you don't apply the corrections.
- 2:22That's what you need to do.
- 2:23Try writing them down.
- 2:25Next.
- 2:27Mackenzie.
- 2:28MacKenzie, when I took you out of the group,
- 2:30I gave you this cute little part to do.
- 2:33And thank goodness it was humorous.
- 2:37Because had they started timing our number,
- 2:40we would have been disqualified, and the Abby Lee Dance Company
- 2:43is not going to get disqualified.
- 2:45All she had to do was grab this rope
- 2:48and pull the carpet across the stage.
- 2:50She kept getting it stuck.
- 2:52I will forgive Mackenzie for what she did.
- 2:55She made a mockery of the beginning of that routine.
- 2:58You will not be in the group numbers going forward, not
- 3:02until it's appropriate for you.
- 3:04Understood?
- 3:06And Paige.
- 3:10You got the featured part.
- 3:12You had the big jump, the tilt, whap.
- 3:15You could have made that fabulous,
- 3:17but you didn't do that.
- 3:21You were given an opportunity, and instead of running with it,
- 3:24it was mediocre.
- 3:26I think Abby takes her frustration out on the kids.
- 3:29Like if Abby's mad at me, she takes it out on Paige.
- 3:33Just because I don't want to be there,
- 3:34that should not be any reflection onto Paige.
- 3:37Next.
- 3:38Maddie.
- 3:41You were good.
- 3:45I noticed you have the Sophia hairdo.
- 3:50How about we have the Sophia energy,
- 3:53the Sophia turns, and not worry about the hairdo?
- 3:56I think there's enough pressure on Maddie
- 3:58without being compared to Sophia,
- 4:00but now I know how the other moms feel when Abby does it
- 4:03to their children.
- 4:04Next.
- 4:05Kendall.
- 4:06You were in the front.
- 4:07You were given a correction 100 times.
- 4:12Did you keep up with Sophia?
- 4:16I don't know.
- 4:18At the top of the pyramid is Sophia.
- 4:21I think the ceiling was going to cave in at the Abby Lee
- 4:24Dance Company because Maddie was not on the top of the pyramid.
- 4:28It was Sophie.
- 4:30Kind of a given.
- 4:32She won the high score overall, nine to 11-year-old,
- 4:36and she won the entire competition.
- 4:39She was the high score of the day.
- 4:40Sophia is still a part of this team
- 4:42and she will remain on the pyramid.
- 4:44Just because she's in LA shooting a movie,
- 4:46that's just another feather in my cap.
- 4:48This weekend, we will be traveling to Greensboro, North
- 4:52Carolina.
- 4:53We will be attending Dance Troupe Challenge.
- 4:58Since Brooke's not on the pyramid,
- 4:59does that mean she's not going this weekend?
- 5:02Well, Brooke, I want to know, what happened over the weekend?
- 5:07Right.
- 5:17So you didn't come to rehearsal Sunday?
- 5:20You're 14.
- 5:21You've been taking ballet class since you
- 5:24were six or seven years old.
- 5:25Abby, if she's going to do that,
- 5:27like she spent the entire week learning the number
- 5:30with this group.
- 5:31Why wouldn't she just go away with us and keep the number?
- 5:33But that doesn't mean you don't do anything dance-wise
- 5:36all weekend.
- 5:39I realize that Brooke didn't dance last week so she's not
- 5:42on the pyramid, but she is still part of the group.
- 5:44Sophia is not even here and she's
- 5:47at the top of the pyramid, and Brooke is and she's not on it
- 5:49at all.
- 5:50The group piece is entitled "Voyage Home."
- 5:53this is a very serious piece.
- 5:55You will be immigrants.
- 5:58Everybody will be in the routine, but Brooke, who will
- 6:02be staying home, and Mackenzie.
- 6:05Brooke, I want to see you work to get back into this group.
- 6:12Mackenzie, you will be doing a solo.
- 6:15My next solo will be Paige.
- 6:18[applause]
- 6:21My next routine will be a duet with Maddie and Kendall.
- 6:26[applause]
- 6:31Moms, you can head upstairs.
- 6:33Ladies, spread apart.
- 6:34Start warming up.
- 6:39You want to sit in your old spot?
- 6:41Here you go.
- 6:42Thank you.
- 6:43Brooke, go over there and play the music for us,
- 6:45please, because I don't want Gianna counting even messing.
- 6:49Let's use Mackenzie.
- 6:51I am planning on Sophia showing up at the competition
- 6:54and participating in the group number.
- 6:56I have special parts built for her.
- 6:58She's going to work out just fine.
- 7:00Start backing up.
- 7:01Everybody, backing up.
- 7:03I have Mackenzie being "the swing"
- 7:05and blocking the spaces for Sophia.
- 7:06- It should be up there, Brooke. - Wait, wait.
- 7:08You said that already.
- 7:09Did she put Mackenzie in now?
- 7:11Yeah, Brooke's now running the music.
- 7:13Put your right foot back.
- 7:14Dig your right foot.
- 7:16This week's theme is very lightly about immigrating.
- 7:19It's more about getting across that border.
- 7:22It's about the struggle.
- 7:23And now we're stepping out and across.
- 7:27It's a really cool contemporary piece.
- 7:29The music's great, and I want the kids to push themselves
- 7:32artistically.
- 7:33Some of their feet are flexed.
- 7:35They're pulling on each other.
- 7:36There's some partner work, and that's
- 7:38something new for these kids.
- 7:40And run.
- 7:44So Brooke's really going to further her dance education
- 7:47by running music and watching.
- 7:48This is Sophia.
- 7:49This is not anybody else.
- 7:51She's playing like Sophie, you know what I mean?
- 7:54Although I'm happy I'm not competing this weekend,
- 7:57there is a part of me that really wishes I was there,
- 7:59because I wanted to show the girls that although I'm not
- 8:02on the team, I still do really care
- 8:04and I just wanted to support them.
- 8:06My daughter was here all last week
- 8:09and she's here today for pyramid.
- 8:10Two weeks in a row she's been here for pyramid
- 8:12and has not been on that pyramid.
- 8:14Sophia is on top of the pyramid and she's not even here.
- 8:18Brooke is part of the team.
- 8:19She needs to be at the dance competition with me.
- 8:22It's [bleep].
- 8:23Remember, you're an immigrant coming through the desert
- 8:27or coming on a boat that you've been on for days and days
- 8:31and days.
- 8:33Wait.
- 8:34Did Abby just say that they're immigrating?
- 8:37It has to do with them being immigrants in the Ivy League
- 8:41Dance Company.
- 8:42Except we've been on this team since they were born.
- 8:45Yup, that's what it is.
- 8:47She got lucky because these little immigrants
- 8:49are good dancers.
- 8:51Watch that back foot.
- 8:52Keep it pressed into the ground.
- 8:53Flex your feet there, Kendall.
- 8:55Turn your left.
- 8:57I didn't think about when Dee did Maddie's hair.
- 8:58I'm like, oh, man, it does look like Sophie's.
- 9:01Do you think Maddie's sad she doesn't have a solo?
- 9:04She's happy she has a duet.
- 9:05Is she happy?
- 9:06So yeah.
- 9:07Is she OK with that?
- 9:08Oh, yeah, just tickled pink.
- 9:12You have to know that Maddie feels a little disappointed
- 9:15in Abby and--
- 9:17Sure.
- 9:17--the Sophia thing.
- 9:19Oh, a little.
- 9:20Are you kidding me? It's not a little, honey.
- 9:22What does she say?
- 9:23She goes, Mom, I like Sophia.
- 9:24I said, honey, I know you do.
- 9:25It's got nothing to do with that.
- 9:27Maddie is amazing on her own.
- 9:28She doesn't need that from Abby.
- 9:30It's just not fair.
- 9:32But guess what?
- 9:33Kendall could be amazing on her own, too.
- 9:43[music playing]
- 9:44Such a great day to go visit Abby.
- 9:46It's never a good day to visit Abby.
- 9:48Abby asked us all to come over to us and go through her garage
- 9:51and look for old dance stuff.
- 9:53I don't know why we can't say no to this lady.
- 9:55ABBY LEE MILLER: Hello?
- 9:56Hello.
- 9:57ABBY LEE MILLER: Come on in.
- 9:58Oh my gosh.
- 10:00ABBY LEE MILLER: Here we go.
- 10:01Wow.
- 10:02Here's the main things that I'm looking for.
- 10:05I'm looking for old programs, but there's also some props
- 10:09that I think that we could do for dance routines
- 10:11that we don't have to pay for new props to be made.
- 10:13All right, get started. Let's go.
- 10:15Let's go.
- 10:16I'm not touching anything in here.
- 10:17God knows what's growing in that garage,
- 10:19and I do not feel like getting a case of scabies.
- 10:22There's mice droppings in here.
- 10:23[scream]
- 10:24Oh my gosh, I hit a jackpot.
- 10:28Look at Abby here.
- 10:29Too pure to be pink, Abby.
- 10:31[laughs]
- 10:33Melissa is like gung-ho on cleaning out this garage.
- 10:36She's thinking, I'm going to kick butt cleaning this garage
- 10:39because Maddie is going to get her at the top of the pyramid.
- 10:42This is right up Melissa's alley.
- 10:44I don't know what's worse, her cleaning out the junk
- 10:46or kissing Abby's ass.
- 10:47She hit the jackpot.
- 10:48This had your name on it.
- 10:50"Kelly on probation for cursing in the studio, 1979."
- 10:55Some things never change.
- 10:56[screams]
- 10:59What is it?
- 11:01Let's get out of here.
- 11:03I think I touched it.
- 11:06[screams]
- 11:08I don't do mice.
- 11:09It was a lovely afternoon.
- 11:11I'm done.
- 11:12See you later.
- 11:13Bye, Holly.
- 11:14She's running.
- 11:17I got two photos, ladies, I'm sneaking out of the building.
- 11:22I got the one of Abby with a black eye and the same hairdo.
- 11:25I'm going to dream about this tonight
- 11:26and think that I did it to her.
- 11:28[laughs]
- 11:29[music playing]
- 11:34Fabulous.
- 11:35Now, the name of your routine is "Lemonade."
- 11:37But I don't want a lemon out on that stage.
- 11:39You know what a lemon is?
- 11:40A lemon is you buy a car and everything goes
- 11:43wrong with the car.
- 11:45My solos this week is called "Lemonade,"
- 11:47and I am going to be a big glass of L-E-M-O-N-A-D-E.
- 11:53Like when something's sour, it's like--
- 11:55go.
- 11:57Mackenzie does cute well, but she has a few more difficult
- 12:00tricks in her routine this week.
- 12:02She's doing her round off back tuck
- 12:04on stage on the bare floor.
- 12:06She's doing her aerial walkover.
- 12:08She's doing side aerials.
- 12:10So I feel like pushing her in the level of difficulty
- 12:13of her routine.
- 12:14It needs to be more than a split.
- 12:19That does look funny.
- 12:21I love it.
- 12:22She was like sitting on her boobs, her bosom.
- 12:25ABBY LEE MILLER: All right, Paige,
- 12:27you're going to be in sound.
- 12:28God, Paige is going to get tortured.
- 12:30No, she's in a good mood. You were her servant today.
- 12:33No.
- 12:33Yeah, you helped her out.
- 12:34You only stole two things.
- 12:36[laughter]
- 12:37Shut up, Jill.
- 12:39I think you're ahead of the game.
- 12:42All right, now Paige, you're 12.
- 12:45You're going to be dancing 12, 13.
- 12:47So you need to dance up.
- 12:48You need to dance older.
- 12:50And make things big.
- 12:51Give it 100%.
- 12:53This is my first solo of the season
- 12:55so I need to be better than good and I
- 12:57need to prove to Miss Abby me that I deserve to be here.
- 13:00Stop.
- 13:02The arms are not a dishrag, a dishwash cloth.
- 13:06She's yelling at her about her arms
- 13:08because Paige has noodly arms.
- 13:10They're so long, that's why.
- 13:11I totally agree with that.
- 13:13And I don't mind Abby for yelling at her for her arms,
- 13:16because when she yells her for being stupid, that bothers me.
- 13:20Don't look at your mother.
- 13:21Every time you look at your mother, you get 20 push-ups.
- 13:24I think Paige is ready for this solo
- 13:26and Abby just doesn't ever give her a chance.
- 13:29And I think if she would give Paige the chance
- 13:32and get her up on stage, she would get used to it.
- 13:34All right, breathe.
- 13:36Go get a drink.
- 13:37We're going on to the group.
- 13:39I'm going to go downstairs for a little bit, OK?
- 13:41What are you doing?
- 13:47Get back to the top of that pyramid in any way, shape
- 13:50or form you can.
- 13:52Does anybody else feel like this?
- 13:54I'm fine.
- 13:55I don't care.
- 13:58It's an act.
- 14:00Melissa and Maddie are so overwhelmed by the fact
- 14:02that Sophia is here on the team and they're
- 14:04kind of living in her shadow.
- 14:05I don't think either one of them know what
- 14:07to do with themselves now that they're in somebody else's
- 14:09shadow.
- 14:10Guys, back foot.
- 14:14Three times I told you.
- 14:16More acting.
- 14:18I don't think you understand that like there's people
- 14:20with machine guns in their cars that won't let you get out
- 14:23of the car.
- 14:25Like you need to be stronger.
- 14:27I'm seeing this.
- 14:31Be tougher.
- 14:33Come on.
- 14:34Don't be so weak.
- 14:39[music continuing]
- 14:41On your left.
- 14:428, 4, 5, 6.
- 14:45We're starting the duet.
- 14:46it's.
- 14:47Called "Sugar and Spice."
- 14:49Understood?
- 14:50I don't know why you're all laughing and silly.
- 14:52That much time ago you were doing a solo
- 14:54and at the top of the pyramid.
- 14:56That's where you always were, and now you're
- 14:59her duet partner?
- 15:02I wouldn't be laughing about it.
- 15:03Well, why is a duet something that's downgraded?
- 15:05I don't know.
- 15:06Because Sophia is the star now so she's getting the solos.
- 15:10But a duet or a trio is still a lovely thing to do.
- 15:13That's what I said.
- 15:14I think it is, too.
- 15:15That's not a downgrade.
- 15:16It's an opportunity.
- 15:17So you don't feel like that's a downgrade?
- 15:19- No. - Absolutely not.
- 15:20I think a duet is a great dance.
- 15:23Any time Mia gets a chance to dance, I am happy.
- 15:27So fuck what Melissa thinks.
- 15:29I think it's great.
- 15:30[music playing]
- 15:30(SINGING) Everybody--
- 15:32"Sugar and Spice" is a very fun dance.
- 15:35It's upbeat and cute, but it's not hard.
- 15:38I wish I had a solo this week because solos are so much more
- 15:42challenging for me.
- 15:43Now look at each other like, what are you wearing?
- 15:46Uh-huh.
- 15:48I really want to do well in a duet
- 15:49because since there's only two people,
- 15:52you can sort of tell if one messes up.
- 15:55All right, girls, you're done for right now.
- 15:59You have tomorrow, and Saturday morning we
- 16:00leave for Greensboro.
- 16:01Got it?
- 16:06Oh, somebody was in here looking for stuff.
- 16:08Yeah, because this is just all-- look.
- 16:10We all know that Melissa wants Maddie back
- 16:12on top of the pyramid, and she wants her daughter
- 16:14doing a solo.
- 16:15Hey, what did you think about the duet?
- 16:20Not happy about that, but.
- 16:21Maddie was the one doing a solo every week
- 16:23and now she's doing a duet with Kendall.
- 16:25Yeah.
- 16:26I think, you know, it's just different.
- 16:30Did Melissa just admit to me that she's not happy Maddie has
- 16:34a duet with Kendall?
- 16:36Interesting.
- 16:38If Abby thinks this is a downgrade for Maddie,
- 16:41she's wrong, because Kendall can keep up
- 16:44and this duet looks adorable.
- 16:46I just don't understand why she has to consistently always drag
- 16:50Kendall down.
- 16:51What concerns me the most is that you came in and told
- 16:54Maddie that she's been downgraded
- 16:55to a duet with Kendall.
- 16:57How do you think that makes Kendall feel?
- 16:59Kendall is dancing with Maddie,
- 17:01and that's what she wants.
- 17:02She's been dancing with Maddie for a year now.
- 17:04Not in a duet, but--
- 17:05Never in a duet.
- 17:05Never even in one trio.
- 17:08I don't think that was fair to say.
- 17:10Hey, Melissa was the one that stood in the store and told me
- 17:13she wasn't thrilled about her kid doing a duet with Kendall.
- 17:16I don't know where you want me to go with that.
- 17:18That's just rude.
- 17:19Why do people think their kids are so above others?
- 17:23Melissa, you're busted.
- 17:24You lied to me.
- 17:32Have you heard from Sophia?
- 17:34I have not heard from Sophia.
- 17:36I'm a little worried about her being in that movie.
- 17:39How were the dances?
- 17:40I finished the duet this morning.
- 17:41- OK. - It was hard.
- 17:42It was hard?
- 17:43Yeah.
- 17:45You're ready.
- 17:46Hello.
- 17:47That looks good.
- 17:48Hi, guys.
- 17:50Chloe was telling me last night,
- 17:52basically Sophia has the whole solo part.
- 17:54But then she was saying there's a whole section that's
- 17:57only Maddie, and she said Abby was saying,
- 17:58you know, Sophia gets left behind but Maddie crosses
- 18:01the border.
- 18:02And she's like, mom, not the other four of us.
- 18:04Like she never even mentioned us.
- 18:05Well, how about this?
- 18:06I was talking to Abby, and I wanted
- 18:08to say thank you for the duet.
- 18:09And she said, you know, Melissa came flat out and said
- 18:12she didn't want to do it. - Oh my god.
- 18:13Melissa said that to Abby?
- 18:15Mm-hmm.
- 18:16I guess because she thinks Maddie's
- 18:17too good to dance with Kendall.
- 18:18Abby told Jill that Melissa was not
- 18:21happy doing a duet with Kendall, but it was a step down
- 18:25from doing a solo.
- 18:26And I think that really hurt Jill and Kendall's feelings.
- 18:29Melissa told us that story upstairs and Melissa said, oh,
- 18:32I talked to Abby and Abby said, how do you feel about the duet?
- 18:34And she said, oh, I'm really happy about it.
- 18:37Oh, she did.
- 18:38Did she say that?
- 18:39Yes.
- 18:40Someone here is lying.
- 18:42Abby, as everybody knows, just speaks the truth.
- 18:46She doesn't care if she's going to hurt your feelings or not.
- 18:48Melissa has lied to me many times before.
- 18:50Don't you think that's wrong?
- 18:52Yes.
- 18:53You're allowed to not be happy about it.
- 18:54Don't lie about it.
- 18:55What do I do? I mean--
- 18:56I would definitely say something.
- 18:58I don't want to cause any drama with this duet,
- 19:00but I can't let Melissa get away with this.
- 19:03I can't let her think that her kid is too good to dance
- 19:05with mine.
- 19:06All right, so ready?
- 19:07Take it from your whole hip section.
- 19:095, 6, 7, 8, and.
- 19:10[music playing]
- 19:12(SINGING) Everybody, count off the rhythm.
- 19:14Show us the way to dance.
- 19:15- Hey. - Hi.
- 19:16Hi, ladies.
- 19:17How are you?
- 19:18We're doing a project.
- 19:19And down.
- 19:20Now, what did you do after the back handspring?
- 19:23Can we kupe out of that?
- 19:24Can we leap out of that?
- 19:26Can we jump out of that?
- 19:28I have to tell you that Abby told me last night that you
- 19:30weren't happy about doing a duet with Kendall.
- 19:34What?
- 19:35And it hurts my feelings, so.
- 19:37Well, Jill--
- 19:38I don't want to get all angry and scream.
- 19:40I never said that.
- 19:41Well, why would Abby tell me that?
- 19:43She lies all the time.
- 19:44Never said that.
- 19:45Well, tell me how the conversation--
- 19:47I told you.
- 19:47--went, that she would get that,
- 19:49that you weren't happy about it.
- 19:50Never said it, Jill.
- 19:51I guess what hurts the most is, 1,
- 19:54that Abby truly believes that you think Maddie's
- 19:56too good to dance with Kendall.
- 19:58I never said that.
- 20:00And that is hurtful.
- 20:02Well, that's really funny.
- 20:03And really disappointing, because Christi
- 20:05sat here and asked you how many times.
- 20:07I'm excited.
- 20:08You told me how excited--
- 20:09Well, I'm very excited.
- 20:11I told you.
- 20:11And Kendall's very excited.
- 20:13I think things like that just hurt the kids' feelings.
- 20:16Of course it does, but I didn't hurt the kids' feelings
- 20:19because Abby asked me.
- 20:20I even told you.
- 20:21I told you guys all yesterday.
- 20:22She said, what do you think of the duet?
- 20:24I said, I'm so excited.
- 20:25She goes, it's a step down.
- 20:28That's what she said to me.
- 20:30Melissa just lied right to my face.
- 20:32She told me she was happy about the duet with Kendall and Abby
- 20:35told me the exact opposite.
- 20:37Melissa, you're busted.
- 20:38You lied to me.
- 20:39And let's face it, they're all different levels.
- 20:41They all have their strengths and their weaknesses.
- 20:44But it's not fair for a teacher to say
- 20:46one kid's too good to dance with another
- 20:48or for a mother to agree with it.
- 20:51I don't know how it went down, but that's what Abby been led
- 20:53me to believe.
- 20:55Well, you can believe whatever you want to, Jill.
- 21:05ABBY LEE MILLER: Now, the girls, obviously, immigrants.
- 21:08Watch, ladies.
- 21:09The costumes for this week's competition
- 21:10need to be dark and dramatic.
- 21:12I want the girls to look as though they've
- 21:15been through a whole lot to get across that border.
- 21:18Where are these children immigrating from?
- 21:20We don't know.
- 21:21They're trying to cross the border.
- 21:23It's not about where they're coming from
- 21:26but where they're going.
- 21:27It's about the voyage home.
- 21:28I'm listening to Abby's definition of immigration
- 21:31and I'm confused.
- 21:33How on earth can you immigrate home?
- 21:35[music playing]
- 21:41Hi, Jim.
- 21:42Hi.
- 21:42Good morning.
- 21:44You wouldn't know what to do if we didn't have pink suitcases.
- 21:46That's right.
- 21:47We're going back to Greensboro, North Carolina
- 21:49this week, and we actually attended DTI last year.
- 21:52So we're familiar with the competition.
- 21:53We know the judges.
- 21:54We did well last year.
- 21:56Come on, Jim, let's go.
- 22:01Ladies, we're going to the Dance Troupe Challenge
- 22:03and we need to remember that those kids are already there.
- 22:06They're already working.
- 22:07So when you step into that hotel,
- 22:08you don't know who's the judge.
- 22:10You don't know who's a faculty member.
- 22:11You don't know who's running it.
- 22:12Game faces on.
- 22:13No back talking your moms.
- 22:15Get in there and pretend you're dancers, yes?
- 22:20Here we go.
- 22:21"Good luck today.
- 22:22Thinking of you all.
- 22:24Just got to set here in LA.
- 22:26Last day of filming.
- 22:27Miss you all."
- 22:28So what does that mean?
- 22:29No Sophia this weekend?
- 22:30No Sophia this weekend.
- 22:32See, you should have just put Brooke on the team
- 22:34from day one.
- 22:36Well, day one you weren't there.
- 22:38You didn't show up on day one.
- 22:39Day one of this week.
- 22:41Well, this week is a little late, Kelly.
- 22:43Yeah, well, Sophia wasn't there day one of this week
- 22:45either, was she? - No.
- 22:46Brooke was there.
- 22:47She wasn't.
- 22:48Nope.
- 22:49She was doing a movie in Hollywood.
- 22:52Brooke was at school with her friends.
- 22:54Big difference.
- 22:55Kelly, you have to understand, I want stars.
- 22:57I don't want mediocre.
- 22:59We know you want stars, Abby, and it's clear
- 23:02that you'll do whatever it takes to get those stars.
- 23:04If you really want to call it out,
- 23:06then maybe you should say something in front of Abby.
- 23:09Yeah, but think of it this way.
- 23:11If Abby had to pick whose side she's going to take--
- 23:13I mean-- - I don't know about that.
- 23:15--if honesty is not the best policy and she's going to pick
- 23:18a side, I mean, I'm going to leave.
- 23:20Abby is not going to want to be the one who is accused
- 23:23of lying.
- 23:24I think she'll choose her own side,
- 23:26because if Melissa is calling her a liar,
- 23:28Abby's not going to stand for being called a liar.
- 23:32[music continuing]
- 23:35[cheering]
- 23:40Girls, listen up.
- 23:42All those people lined up in that hallway, all those people
- 23:45so excited to see you, why do you think that is?
- 23:48National champions.
- 23:50So step up to the plate, get it in gear,
- 23:53figure it out, and no lazy mistakes.
- 23:56[music playing]
- 24:08Paige, you're 12 now.
- 24:09Were your arms straight behind you
- 24:11like Chloe's, and your sternum open every time
- 24:13you rolled around?
- 24:14Were your elbows lifted and supported through your back
- 24:17on your PK tinsica.
- 24:21Those are all things that we went over and over and over.
- 24:26I feel like Paige wants to get out there and show Abby
- 24:30that she can do this solo.
- 24:31She is listening, and she will make
- 24:33a few of those corrections.
- 24:36Mackenzie, you made a mockery of your entire routine
- 24:39with that bow falling out and then doing your back handspring
- 24:41the wrong direction.
- 24:47Now you have an even bigger headpiece.
- 24:49Don't let it happen again.
- 24:51All right, are we ready?
- 24:52Let's walk the mile.
- 24:53Game faces on.
- 24:54Good luck.
- 24:55Paige, go out there and dance like you've never
- 24:57danced before.
- 24:57No mistakes, got it?
- 25:06[music playing]
- 25:09ANNOUNCER: Up next, Mackenzie performing "Lemonade."
- 25:12[applause]
- 25:15[music - dj laz, "lemonade"]
- 25:16(SINGING) L-E-M-O-N-A-D-E. L-E-M-O-N-A-D-E.
- 25:24Sweet as lemonade.
- 25:28Bright as a sunny day.
- 25:32She's sweet as lemonade.
- 25:35Bright as a sunny day.
- 25:42Sweet as lemonade.
- 25:47Bright as a sunny day.
- 25:58L-E-M-O-N-A-D-E. L-E-M-O-N-A-D-E.
- 26:05Sweet as lemonade.
- 26:08[cheering]
- 26:10I think it was a great routine.
- 26:12That back tuck was outstanding.
- 26:15The face was cute.
- 26:16All of her jumps were nice and high.
- 26:18She did a great job.
- 26:23This is my first solo of the season and all I'm thinking
- 26:26is of Abby's corrections and Abby's screaming in my head.
- 26:29Do this right, do that right.
- 26:31ANNOUNCER: Up next from the Abby Lee Dance Company,
- 26:33Paige performing "I Want to Dance."
- 26:36[applause]
- 26:37[MUSIC - REBEL AMERICA, "I WANNA DANCE"]
- 26:46(SINGING) I got this craving like something stickin'
- 26:52up a demand.
- 26:54It starts in my feet, moves up to my legs,
- 26:59making my body find a deep satisfaction.
- 27:02I want to dance.
- 27:05Yes, I want to tell Mr. DJ to turn the music up
- 27:12so I can hit the dance floor.
- 27:15What you waiting for?
- 27:17I want to dance.
- 27:19Yes, I want to tell Mr. DJ to turn the music up
- 27:25so I can hit the dance floor.
- 27:29What you waiting for?
- 27:30What you waiting for?
- 27:31[cheering]
- 27:37I thought Paige's dance was great.
- 27:39She looked confident.
- 27:40She made a lot of the corrections.
- 27:42She wasn't perfect, but nobody's perfect.
- 27:46I thought both of them did really well.
- 27:47I know.
- 27:48You know Abby's going to have something to say.
- 27:50You know, I am trying to behave myself
- 27:53and kiss her ass this week, so I'm going
- 27:56to sit here and bite my tongue.
- 27:58That's so hard to do.
- 28:00Kelly, this is where you called her a whore.
- 28:05ABBY LEE MILLER: Kelly, go get a job.
- 28:07KELLY: Oh, you are a whore.
- 28:09I have to behave here this year.
- 28:11You could be like, whore the sequel.
- 28:15I missed it last year.
- 28:16I was working.
- 28:17It wasn't good.
- 28:18Whore the sequel.
- 28:20Hey.
- 28:21Good job.
- 28:23Good job.
- 28:25If Miss Abby comes in here and says mean things,
- 28:28just listen and ignore.
- 28:33Hey, girls.
- 28:34Nice job.
- 28:36Paige, how do you think you did?
- 28:42Good.
- 28:43I thought you were wonderful.
- 28:44I thought it was fabulous.
- 28:49That's a big arch back, Kendall.
- 29:00So Abby, I have a question about you came right out
- 29:04and said Melissa said she doesn't want to do the duet.
- 29:06We were discussing the duet and she said,
- 29:08I'm not too crazy about it either.
- 29:10- That's not what I said. - Those were her words.
- 29:12I said I'm not too crazy about not having a solo is what
- 29:15I said.
- 29:16Well, I think everybody in this room
- 29:16knows you have a selective memory.
- 29:20I did not say that.
- 29:22Come on, Melissa, your ex-husband told me how many
- 29:23times when you were on the phone with me, telling me this,
- 29:26telling me that.
- 29:27You'd hang up with me, call somebody else,
- 29:28and rip all over me.
- 29:31I have been so dedicated to that studio.
- 29:34You are the person that is love the one you're with.
- 29:38If your kid's doing a duet with Chloe,
- 29:41you're up Christi's butt--
- 29:43[chatter sounds]
- 29:46Come on, you know Melissa.
- 29:47If she's with me, she agrees with my opinion.
- 29:50If she's sitting next to Jill, she's
- 29:52going to tell Jill whatever Jill wants to hear.
- 29:58Kendall, turn your left foot in and then invert it
- 30:00and make sure your ankles on the floor on one knee.
- 30:04Stretch your feet, Kendall.
- 30:06When you shoot out to that jazz back bend.
- 30:10OK, Maddie's knee is bent.
- 30:13It's perched.
- 30:14It's supposed to be that.
- 30:15But her leg wasn't straight.
- 30:16OK.
- 30:17But you're too busy watching them.
- 30:19Maddie, Maddie, Maddie, take a private
- 30:21from Miss Jill next week.
- 30:22Abby, I'm just saying you could be a little more critical
- 30:25to both children, not just one the whole time.
- 30:30Maddie's not perfect.
- 30:31I'm sorry, she's not perfect.
- 30:32I never said Maddie was perfect.
- 30:33If she was perfect, she'd have a solo.
- 30:35She's not perfect.
- 30:36Do it one more time, honey.
- 30:38You know what?
- 30:40Tell her to stop.
- 30:41You've worked really hard and all
- 30:43she does is say your one foot.
- 30:45Come on, Kendall.
- 30:46Come on.
- 30:48I gave it to her.
- 30:49- I understand that, but now-- - I picked her for the duet.
- 30:50--you're tearing her down.
- 30:52I am not tearing her down.
- 30:53I'm correcting her foot.
- 30:54Yes, you are.
- 30:55You're going to ruin it.
- 30:56Jill, your child's foot is sickled and I'm correcting it.
- 30:59I know, it's all my fault.
- 31:01Because I'm not going to let that big
- 31:04you know what sit there and belittle you.
- 31:06I'm not.
- 31:08I can't stand to hear her screaming at Kendall anymore.
- 31:11I can't stand it.
- 31:12This is the plan.
- 31:13I hope everybody's happy the plan fell into place.
- 31:17That's all she worked on all week with screaming at Kendall.
- 31:20Girls, I'm not putting up with this crap.
- 31:22You either dance now, you get in the wings,
- 31:24or you find another studio.
- 31:36[applause]
- 31:42ANNOUNCER: From Abby Lee Dance Company,
- 31:44let's welcome to the stage contestant number 217.
- 31:52[MUSIC - ASHLEY JANA, "SUGAR 'N SPICE"]
- 31:58(SINGING) Everybody count us a rhythm.
- 32:02Show us the way you dance.
- 32:05'Cause baby, tonight there is no mistaking.
- 32:09We get another chance.
- 32:13Well, I'm sugar and spice and everything nice.
- 32:17When you see us coming, you might look more than twice.
- 32:21Because we love the world in a ballerina's twirl.
- 32:24Come and watch us do it, do it, do it.
- 32:29You know through it all, we're here to hit the ball.
- 32:37Just like sugar and spice and everything nice.
- 32:41When you see us coming, you might look more than twice.
- 32:50[cheering]
- 32:56I think the duet went very well.
- 32:58I thought we were together, and Kendall
- 33:00took all the corrections and applied them.
- 33:02Good job.
- 33:03You did good, guys.
- 33:05Really good job.
- 33:08Nice job, ladies.
- 33:16OK, Abby, you can give corrections.
- 33:18Oh, you're allowing me to correct my students now?
- 33:21You can do whatever you want.
- 33:22I just don't want you screaming, hurting feelings
- 33:24before they go out on stage.
- 33:26Jill, if you looked at your kid doing that bit
- 33:29and thought that her leg was in a la seconde,
- 33:31go to the optometrist or the ophthalmologist,
- 33:33because it was not.
- 33:34You needed to get up off your chair and hands-on and show
- 33:37her.
- 33:38I did.
- 33:39You sat right there.
- 33:40Jill, in the studio, you get your face out of your phone
- 33:44and pay attention.
- 33:46Because you have said to me if Kendall just gets her chance,
- 33:49if Kendall just gets an opportunity,
- 33:52she will dance up to that level.
- 33:54I gave it.
- 33:55I didn't see it.
- 33:58And you picked on her the entire week about it.
- 34:01Pick on her?
- 34:02Yes.
- 34:03Kiss my butt.
- 34:06No, thank you.
- 34:07Get over yourself.
- 34:09Every time I call her, good or bad, I am fixing her.
- 34:13Say thank you.
- 34:14Every time I say your kid's name, it should be a thank you.
- 34:18When I never say it, start worrying.
- 34:23Start worrying.
- 34:29ANNOUNCER: Let's get rocking.
- 34:30[applause]
- 34:31I really, really need this to duet to score well,
- 34:34because if it doesn't, we know who Abby's going to blame.
- 34:37She already set the stage that it's
- 34:39going to be Kendall's fault if the duet doesn't win.
- 34:42In the gender age division, ladies and gentlemen,
- 34:44our overall solos for level 2.

- 35:08ABBY LEE MILLER: I think Paige is in her glory.

- 35:22Taking third place by a score duet trio is "We Hate Boys,"
- 35:27Divine Dance.
- 35:28[cheering]

- 35:46[cheering]
- 35:47The duet "Sugar and Spice" with Maddie and Kendall
- 35:51won first.
- 35:52Am I surprised?
- 35:53Am I shocked?
- 35:55No.
- 35:56They were looking at Maddie, guaranteed.
- 35:59Hi.
- 35:59You did wonderful.
- 36:02Congratulations.
- 36:03I'm so proud of you.
- 36:05High five.
- 36:06I'm so proud of you.
- 36:08You and Maddie were a good pair.
- 36:09You guys were good out there.
- 36:11Listen, let's go out and make this group number the best it's
- 36:15ever been.
- 36:16Congratulations, girls.
- 36:20Congrats, congrats, congrats.
- 36:22You should all be just fine without Sophia.
- 36:25Kendall, you remember your part, how you move into the middle
- 36:27where Sophia used to be?
- 36:29You're not going to screw that up.
- 36:31You know what you're doing.
- 36:32I think the girls will be fine doing the parts
- 36:34because Sophia never really does the dance.
- 36:37No, I know.
- 36:39I mean, compare her devil pipe point blank to Chloe's.
- 36:41Yes, and her dance teacher from San Diego
- 36:44taught it, where you taught Chloe.
- 36:47No, I taught Chloe to do it correctly.
- 36:48Chloe pikes it forward and she gets told about it every time
- 36:51she does it.
- 36:55Right now, we're getting ready to do the group.
- 36:58And since me and Maddie won for the duet,
- 37:00I think we have a big chance of winning with the group.
- 37:03ANNOUNCER: Let's welcome the Abby Lee Dance Company,
- 37:05performing "Voyage Home."
- 37:07[applause]
- 37:16[MUSIC - ATLANTIC LINE, "VOYAGE HOME"]
- 37:48(SINGING) Sometimes we change too fast.
- 38:12[cheering]
- 38:15ANNOUNCER: That's the Abby Lee Dance Company
- 38:18performing "Voyage Home."
- 38:21Most of the girls did a good job of the group dance.
- 38:26I just hope the judges weren't watching the immigrants
- 38:29with the sickle feet and the bad timing.
- 38:32Whoo.
- 38:34Good job.
- 38:35I liked it.
- 38:36Does anybody know who messed up?
- 38:39Don't throw anyone under the bus, children.
- 38:41No.
- 38:42Don't throw anyone under the bus.
- 38:43Because Abby was like, somebody messed something up.
- 38:45And Abby just like looked at all the moms.
- 38:47I was like--

- 38:58Christi's mouth is always big and full of things to say.
- 39:03She wants to think that everybody's amazing.
- 39:06I don't wake up amazing.
- 39:07It takes me hours to get this way.

- 39:57The "Voyage Home" was a success.
- 39:59Was it amazing, Christi?
- 40:00No.
- 40:01It isn't your place to say that.
- 40:03Certainly not.

- 40:23They were amazing.
- 40:23They were amazing.
- 40:26You really think that, just because they got lucky and won?
- 40:28Kendall, are you going to admit that you screwed
- 40:30the whole dance up and that you were off timing?
- 40:32I messed up one part, not the whole dance.
- 40:34It couldn't have been that bad because they
- 40:36won the whole thing, Abby.
- 40:38Yeah, you know what?
- 40:39Last week they looked at Sophia.
- 40:41Today, you couldn't take your eyes off of Maddie.
- 40:43How hurtful is that?
- 40:45How ignorant is that to say to a child in front of everybody
- 40:51when the number just won?
- 40:53Some people are good soloists.
- 40:54Some people are better in a group.
- 40:57Other people choke on stage.
- 40:59There you have it.

- 41:03I want to make sure that you're
- 41:04all aware, your replacements will be at the competition.
- 41:07You're really like making fun of our kids?
- 41:09Yeah.
- 41:11I was just going to ask you if I could have a solo.
- 41:14Uh-uh.
- 41:15Your mom did this and you let it happen.
- 41:18Sorry.
- 41:20If one person really has the dreams to do this for a living,
- 41:24nothing should get in their way.
- 41:26Not your personal life.
- 41:28You picked on the children.
- 41:29Because you're an idiot.
