  9. 0:16Maybe you should get fined.

  20. 0:32It's the same choreography, exactly to the tee.
  21. 0:35CHRISTI: It's never happened before.
  22. 0:37MELISSA: She's not letting them watch each other.
  23. 0:38CHRISTI: It's like the Blair Witch Project.
  24. 0:40HOLLY: Hopefully, they are using this time, just talk or let go.
  25. 0:44ABBY: You ruined your entire number.
  26. 0:47People live with cancer every day
  27. 0:49and other people die from cancer.
  28. 0:50CHRISTI: Melissa will lose her [bleep] if both of her kids
  29. 0:53lose.
  30. 0:54JILL: Our plan is to prove Maddie gets extra privates.
  31. 0:58Ow! CHRISTI: You're lying.
  32. 0:59You're lying like--
  33. 1:00MELISSA: [bleep] you.
  34. 1:01You know nothing.
  35. 1:03[THEME - NIKKO LOWE, "LIVING ON THE DANCE FLOOR"]
  36. 1:05THEME SONG: (SINGING) Get up.
  37. 1:07Get on the floor.
  38. 1:08My world is with my girls.
  39. 1:12Living on the dance floor.
  40. 1:14[upbeat music]
  41. 1:27Thank you.
  42. 1:30ABBY: Hey, how are you doing?
  43. 1:32HOLLY: Hi.
  44. 1:33You put in some music?
  45. 1:35Always.
  46. 1:36Y'all look like you're having a good time.
  47. 1:38HOLLY: Hello!
  48. 1:41Hello.
  49. 1:44HOLLY: Hello.
  50. 1:47The apocalypse is upon us.
  51. 1:48Why?
  52. 1:49What happened?
  53. 1:50Abby just smiled at me.
  54. 1:51GROUP: Wow.
  55. 1:53I'm a little speechless, and I'm never at a loss for words.
  56. 1:56Because that clearly means that she's just thrilled that
  57. 1:59we beat Cathy last week.
  58. 2:00I'm going to run out and see if I can find something for Chloe
  59. 2:03to wear.
  60. 2:05How have you two of you doing?
  61. 2:07I just don't want to talk to her.
  62. 2:08It's OK, give it time.
  63. 2:10KELLY: It's been a week since Christi and I have fought.
  64. 2:12I just feel like Christi and I went to a place
  65. 2:16that I didn't like.
  66. 2:17CHRISTI: That was our question to you the whole time.
  67. 2:19KELLY: My daughter has a solo.
  68. 2:20What do I have to be upset about?
  69. 2:22CHRISTI: That was our question.
  70. 2:23- Maybe it's you that's upset. - Stop lying.
  71. 2:24That is why--
  72. 2:26I'll have my attorney write you a letter and sue you.
  73. 2:28I don't think friends treat friends that way.
  74. 2:32ABBY: Come on, let's go!
  75. 2:33Let's go! Come on!
  76. 2:34Shake your leg.
  77. 2:35Bring it in.
  78. 2:39This is cause for celebration.
  79. 2:41Come on!
  80. 2:42[cheers]
  81. 2:45The Abby Lee Dance Company took back ownership.
  82. 2:48We beat the crap out of the Krabby Apple.
  83. 2:52They were flawless.
  84. 2:54MC: And in first place, Bad Girls.
  85. 2:57ABBY: They danced together as one,
  86. 2:58outstanding representatives of the ALDC.
  87. 3:01Didn't that feel good?
  88. 3:04Hey!
  89. 3:05Hi.
  90. 3:06How are you?
  91. 3:07Good?
  92. 3:08Good to see you again.
  93. 3:09Good to see you.
  94. 3:10What's up?
  95. 3:11Glad you're back.
  96. 3:12We got a warm welcome from Abby.
  97. 3:14We've been busy bees but glad to be back here.
  98. 3:16Without further ado, I'm going to get to the pyramid.
  99. 3:19First, Asia.
  100. 3:22You weren't here.
  101. 3:23That's where you end up.
  102. 3:24She went away to LA for the week.
  103. 3:26She did a television show and also some print work
  104. 3:30for a magazine.
  105. 3:31I can't blame the kid, but I also can't put her
  106. 3:33on top of the pyramid.
  107. 3:34And next on the pyramid, Nia.
  108. 3:39In the group, you lag behind a little bit.
  109. 3:42I don't want you to be the weak link.
  110. 3:44I beg to differ.
  111. 3:45Nia pulled it off.
  112. 3:46She looked great as one of four in that whole group number,
  113. 3:49and they won against the Candy Apples.
  114. 3:50I don't think she deserves to be seventh.
  115. 3:53Next, Kendall.
  116. 3:56Kendall, you were part of an award-winning group.
  117. 3:59You did a good job.
  118. 4:01During rehearsal, hmm.
  119. 4:04You need to be stronger.
  120. 4:06And Paige, you were second overall high score.
  121. 4:12Usually, second is the first to lose.
  122. 4:15But I think you had a great performance.
  123. 4:17You should be very proud of yourself.
  124. 4:20Moving on up, we have Mackenzie.
  125. 4:22Mackenzie, I have big plans for you this week.
  126. 4:25You're up this high on the pyramid
  127. 4:27because that's where I expect you to be.
  128. 4:29That's how well you need to perform.
  129. 4:31You got to give me more.
  130. 4:33Next, we have Chloe and Maddie.
  131. 4:37Chloe and Maddie, two professionals out there.
  132. 4:40It looked like you could have done that dance eight times
  133. 4:43a week.
  134. 4:44So congratulations to the two of you.
  135. 4:48They did a duet.
  136. 4:50They danced like seasoned pros out there.
  137. 4:53They were seamless.
  138. 4:55It was like one person was dancing out there on stage.
  139. 4:57On top of the pyramid, is Brooke.
  140. 5:03It's about time you danced like you're 15 years old.
  141. 5:07Brooke danced with my senior company,
  142. 5:09and that's a pretty big task.
  143. 5:11[music playing]
  144. 5:15[cheering]
  145. 5:17And she went out there and performed just as well
  146. 5:19as they did.
  147. 5:19She did an outstanding job.
  148. 5:21So we will be attending POWERHOUSE dance competition
  149. 5:25in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
  150. 5:27We have a very serious, if you will, group routine.
  151. 5:33The group routine is entitled, Living with the Ribbon.
  152. 5:40Now, you are all familiar with a pink ribbon.
  153. 5:44People every day are living with cancer.
  154. 5:46They're beating the odds.
  155. 5:48They're surviving.
  156. 5:49Melissa, are you OK?
  157. 5:51Why did you get choked up there?
  158. 5:54Because my mother died of cancer.
  159. 5:57My mom died of a really awful--
  160. 5:59I mean, she died in nine months.
  161. 6:00And it was awful.
  162. 6:02ABBY: It is.
  163. 6:03My mom, she had cancer, and it was an awful cancer.
  164. 6:07She went really fast.
  165. 6:09Um, cancer just sucks.
  166. 6:14And I think that we're all affected by it in some way.
  167. 6:17People are living with cancer.
  168. 6:19Children are living with cancer.
  169. 6:21They're surviving.
  170. 6:22Both of my grandfathers died from cancer,
  171. 6:25and my dad actually has cancer right now.
  172. 6:27He has prostate cancer.
  173. 6:28So doing the dance Living with the Ribbon really
  174. 6:30means a lot to me.
  175. 6:32ABBY: This is a piece that I've wanted to do.
  176. 6:34We're going to do it this week.
  177. 6:36It's very intricate choreography.
  178. 6:38Mackenzie, Asia, you are not in the group routine.
  179. 6:42You have solos.
  180. 6:44Asia, it's entitled, Too Hot to Handle.
  181. 6:50Mackenzie, you will also be doing a solo.
  182. 6:52It's entitled, Old West.
  183. 6:55Maddie, you will be doing a solo this weekend.
  184. 6:57The name of your routine is, Be Anything.
  185. 7:02And my last solo will be going to Chloe.
  186. 7:06Chloe, the name of your solo is called You Can,
  187. 7:11because you can get better.
  188. 7:13You can listen to your mother and do what she wants
  189. 7:16you to do, or you can listen to me
  190. 7:18and do what I want you to do.
  191. 7:21Moms, you're dismissed.
  192. 7:22Oh, wait, one more thing.
  193. 7:24Moms, what happened last week that took my senior company,
  194. 7:28who are very focused, and caused them to look up there--
  195. 7:32You're full of [bleep],, Kelly, and you know it.
  196. 7:34KELLY: Oh, well, maybe you should get fined.
  197. 7:36If I see any of that behavior, you will leave this studio
  198. 7:40and your child goes with you.
  199. 7:42Have I made myself perfectly clear?
  200. 7:44Yes?
  201. 7:46All right, you're dismissed.
  202. 7:48Ladies, spread apart.
  203. 7:49Let's warm up.
  204. 7:55You don't really need to pull her so hard, just look like it.
  205. 7:59Yes, go.
  206. 8:01Tense, ha.
  207. 8:03You got to go with her.
  208. 8:04Now my dad died a very, very tragic death of cancer.
  209. 8:08The odds are starting to change, and that's what we're doing.
  210. 8:11You could live with cancer, and you could beat the odds.
  211. 8:14Any illness--
  212. 8:16Because the things that you take for granted,
  213. 8:18and you think you just--
  214. 8:19And once it's gone, that's when you really miss it.
  215. 8:22And so it's got a powerful message.
  216. 8:245, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4--
  217. 8:30My mom's been gone 15 years.
  218. 8:32You know, it's still so hard.
  219. 8:34I think about her, I--
  220. 8:35you know, I have pictures of her.
  221. 8:37She's in my life still every day.
  222. 8:39ABBY: Brooke, plié arabesque and you're getting pulled towards
  223. 8:43Paige.
  224. 8:44I've decided to use elastic.
  225. 8:46The elastic is covering up Brooke.
  226. 8:50It's wrapped around her.
  227. 8:52It's wound through her, just like a cancerous disease.
  228. 8:56As the choreography unfolds, you see
  229. 8:59that Brooke loses the elastic.
  230. 9:02She comes out of it.
  231. 9:03She fights the disease.
  232. 9:05And at the end, she's free.
  233. 9:07All right, you're dismissed. Go.
  234. 9:09KRISTIE RAY: How come you guys are not sitting over here?
  235. 9:11Because that's odd for me.
  236. 9:14JILL: Well, we had a major blow out.
  237. 9:16With Abby?
  238. 9:18JILL: No, it wasn't with Abby, and that's the problem.
  239. 9:20We really need to not fight amongst ourselves.
  240. 9:23Christi and Kelly got into a really heated argument
  241. 9:27that got really ugly.
  242. 9:28CHRISTI: You're not a good friend.
  243. 9:30KELLY: I won't be your friend ever.
  244. 9:31[bleep] you, Kelly.
  245. 9:33[bleep] you.
  246. 9:34The friendship kind of disintegrated before our eyes.
  247. 9:38KRISTIE RAY: So it's not better, or it's OK,
  248. 9:40you're just sitting apart?
  249. 9:42It's their relationship.
  250. 9:46I just need to step back for a while
  251. 9:48and see really where we're at.
  252. 9:54ABBY: I have never done anything like this before.
  253. 9:58This week, I have something crazy
  254. 10:00planned for Maddie and Chloe.
  255. 10:02This is unprecedented.
  256. 10:04This will finally shut those mothers up, especially Christi.
  257. 10:08(WHISPERING) Remember, it's the same choreography exactly
  258. 10:12to the tee that we give.
  259. 10:14Now what the child does with the choreography is up to them,
  260. 10:18huh?
  261. 10:19I got it.
  262. 10:20I still got it.
  263. 10:21I've decided that Maddie and Chloe should
  264. 10:24do the same exact solos.
  265. 10:26Why?
  266. 10:27Because I am sick and tired of hearing
  267. 10:29Christi go on and on about the choreography.
  268. 10:32If you want to do what Maddie's doing, game on.
  269. 10:34[music - "you can be anything"]
  270. 10:35It takes a heartbeat to bring someone back to life.
  271. 10:40And then you feel that it's all been worthwhile.
  272. 10:44Voices--
  273. 10:45I'm gonna go see where the other kids are,
  274. 10:47see what they're doing.
  275. 10:48Maybe they're doing homework.
  276. 10:49Here, come with me.
  277. 10:50Come see if we can find them.
  278. 10:54Rush your right, left leg, to the arabesque.
  279. 10:57Pop your knee up to relevé, and throw your hands back.
  280. 11:00[music - "you can be anything"]
  281. 11:02Anything, anything you dreamed of, anything you dreamed of.
  282. 11:11OK, I got to know, I got to know.
  283. 11:14Are you guys just not talking, talking?
  284. 11:16Or is it like, OK?
  285. 11:19Or you just got so heated that there's no turning back of what
  286. 11:21is said?
  287. 11:22Is that like how it's going?
  288. 11:23KELLY: I think that's it.
  289. 11:24KRISTIE RAY: There's no apology or sorry, I said that?
  290. 11:25No, you know, I'm, I'm just kind of,
  291. 11:27like, I'm just kind of taking a break right now.
  292. 11:31I left it in her corner and I'm leaving it in her corner.
  293. 11:34I'm not begging someone like, please like me, please like me.
  294. 11:37I thought our friendship was worth more than that.
  295. 11:39It is, which says--
  296. 11:41CHRISTI: You feel that way.
  297. 11:42I feel that way.
  298. 11:43Clearly, Kelly doesn't feel that way.
  299. 11:45And I don't want to be like that.
  300. 11:49And right then, I said to myself,
  301. 11:52she's not a best friend.
  302. 12:02MADDIE: Chloe, play yours.
  303. 12:07It's the same.
  304. 12:08It is the same.
  305. 12:10We're in the den, and Maddie decides to play her solo music,
  306. 12:13and I'm like, whoa, that's Chloe's solo music.
  307. 12:16So then it finally hits me that Abby is giving the two of them
  308. 12:20the exact same solo.
  309. 12:24Why do I the same--
  310. 12:26Why do we have the same dance?
  311. 12:27MELISSA: It's fine.
  312. 12:31I was just so confused, because I'm not used
  313. 12:33to doing the same exact dance.
  314. 12:35Wait, why do we have the same song but it's different names?
  315. 12:40So that we wouldn't catch on.
  316. 12:41This week, I think Abby decided to teach me a lesson
  317. 12:44more than anyone.
  318. 12:45So Chloe and Maddie are given the exact same music,
  319. 12:48the exact same choreography, the exact same costume,
  320. 12:51because I always say, let's even the playing field
  321. 12:53and see where the chips fall.
  322. 12:55MADDIE: So, like, same choreography, same song,
  323. 12:58same costumes, same dance.
  324. 13:00KELLY: Did we learn on the same day?
  325. 13:02MADDIE: Yeah. Yes, we did.
  326. 13:03KELLY: OK.
  327. 13:09JILL: You guys totally sure you have the exact same number?
  328. 13:13MELISSA: Yeah.
  329. 13:14CHRISTI: Well, it depends on who choreographed it for,
  330. 13:18because they have different strengths.
  331. 13:20I'm always complaining that Chloe has lesser choreography
  332. 13:22than Maddie.
  333. 13:23So Abby's saying, you know what, here, do Maddie's choreography.
  334. 13:25.
  335. 13:26And I think that she made sure that it was Maddie's dance.
  336. 13:29KRISTIE RAY: So is Maddie concerned
  337. 13:30with having the same routine?
  338. 13:32MELISSA: No, I think she's confused.
  339. 13:34I don't think she's concerned, not at all, no.
  340. 13:36Like, it's never happened before.
  341. 13:39CHRISTI: Hm, you know never say never at the ALDC.
  342. 13:43HOLLY: I think she's just saying that better dancer's going
  343. 13:45to win.
  344. 13:46Because you could strip all this other stuff away,
  345. 13:47when it comes down to what, it's going
  346. 13:49to be X, whatever X factor happens.
  347. 13:52KELLY: It makes a very uncomfortable situation
  348. 13:54for both girls and for all of us.
  349. 13:58I mean, just going into the Green room afterwards,
  350. 14:01one of them is going to win, and one of them isn't.
  351. 14:02This is Chloe's chance to show Abby.
  352. 14:04Exactly.
  353. 14:05You know what, you say Maddie's the best every week.
  354. 14:07Well, when you give them the same amount of time,
  355. 14:09and the same choreography, and the same dance,
  356. 14:11look what can happen.
  357. 14:13I don't like how Abby has Chloe and Maddie doing the same solos
  358. 14:16this week.
  359. 14:18I just feel like no matter what happens, one of the kids
  360. 14:21is going to be upset.
  361. 14:23And I don't think that's fair.
  362. 14:24This is as equal of a level playing field
  363. 14:26you're ever going to get.
  364. 14:29[MUSIC - TUMBLEDOWN HOUSE, "OLD POTOSI"]
  365. 14:36I want Asia and Mackenzie to watch one another
  366. 14:39during rehearsal, so they can see what they're up against.
  367. 14:49All right.
  368. 14:50Asia, you're up.
  369. 14:53Hey!
  370. 14:55KRISTIE RAY: Come over?
  371. 14:56Oh, shoes.
  372. 14:57Can you-- shoes, and then come on over here.
  373. 14:59JILL: Kristie Ray gets to go down and watch
  374. 15:02Asia do her solo.
  375. 15:04We don't get to do that with our kids.
  376. 15:06It's just not fair.
  377. 15:08[MUSIC - TRIFECTA, "2 HOT 2 HANDLE"]
  378. 15:14TRIFECTA: (SINGING) Oh, here it comes.
  379. 15:17Here it comes.
  380. 15:18It's always the same.
  381. 15:20Can we go--
  382. 15:22I hope you get to sit in there and watch your kid and get--
  383. 15:25I don't get in--
  384. 15:25JILL: --get all that.
  385. 15:26Yeah, but you know what, you should.
  386. 15:28She's competing head to head with Asia.
  387. 15:29I don't wanna sit back--
  388. 15:31JILL: You should get the same treatment she's getting.
  389. 15:32MELISSA: Nope, I'm fine with just the treatment I'm getting.
  390. 15:34I don't need to be in there.
  391. 15:35I like to look at it up here.
  392. 15:42JILL: I think we are incognito.
  393. 15:44CHRISTI: We're in black with sunglasses.
  394. 15:46No one will ever know.
  395. 15:48Both Melissa's kids are doing solos this week.
  396. 15:50And Maddie is going head to head with Chloe.
  397. 15:52Of course, Melissa's going to do everything that she can to give
  398. 15:56Maddie the edge this week.
  399. 15:58Melissa will lose her [bleep] if both of her kids lose.
  400. 16:01JILL: Our plan is to prove what we
  401. 16:03have known all along, that Maddie gets extra private time.
  402. 16:08We know what's going on.
  403. 16:10We need proof.
  404. 16:11We have to videotape it, because Melissa always says,
  405. 16:14oh, my kids didn't learn it.
  406. 16:16And every week, we see it.
  407. 16:17But we never have evidence.
  408. 16:18I am so sick of Melissa sitting upstairs and lying to us
  409. 16:21every week.
  410. 16:22Oh, my kids didn't learn their solos.
  411. 16:24They just happened to know by osmosis which move comes next.
  412. 16:27No, they happen to know which comes next because they already
  413. 16:30learned their dance. - All right.
  414. 16:31We know what's going on.
  415. 16:32All right.
  416. 16:33Let's do it.
  417. 16:35How do you think those kids go in there know everything?
  418. 16:37It's not because they're, like, just super geniuses.
  419. 16:39They grub it.
  420. 16:41Wait, look.
  421. 16:42Gia and Janine's cars are here.
  422. 16:44Janine always choreographs Mackenzie, and--
  423. 16:47BOTH: Gia does Maddie.
  424. 16:49[gasps] They're both--
  425. 16:51They're both learning their dances.
  426. 16:52I knew that Maddie and Mackenzie were inside
  427. 16:55getting extra rehearsal time, extra privates,
  428. 16:58and you know what, Melissa just doesn't play fair.
  429. 17:01Well, what am I recording?
  430. 17:02Just the sound or do you want me to--
  431. 17:04No, I want you to get in that studio.
  432. 17:06I'll stand and watch.
  433. 17:09Jill likes to get to the bottom of things.
  434. 17:11She likes to know everything that's going on.
  435. 17:13So clearly, if there's a secret, Jill's
  436. 17:15the one who's going to unearth it.
  437. 17:20[bleep]
  438. 17:23[inaudible chatter]
  439. 17:28Or there in my pocket.
  440. 17:29She has a partner in crime, like Kelly, I have you.
  441. 17:34Did you get video?
  442. 17:35I got video.
  443. 17:36- Who? - Maddie.
  444. 17:37Oh.
  445. 17:44ABBY: All right.
  446. 17:45So you obviously figured out that you're
  447. 17:47doing the same routine.
  448. 17:48When you go to an audition, aren't you all
  449. 17:50given the same combination?
  450. 17:52Yes.
  451. 17:53And that's really the main reason why I did this exercise.
  452. 17:57This week, I'm giving Maddie and Chloe the exact same solo.
  453. 18:02This is going to prepare them for a career
  454. 18:04in the professional dance world.
  455. 18:06Sometimes, when you win, I hear a whole bunch from your mommy.
  456. 18:12And what I hear is, well, if Chloe would have
  457. 18:15Maddie's choreography, if they would pay that much attention
  458. 18:18to my Chloe, if this, if that--
  459. 18:20It's one excuse after another.
  460. 18:22And some of them are pretty darn offensive to me.
  461. 18:25It's do or die time.
  462. 18:27Christi, it's time for you to put up and shut up.
  463. 18:32Chloe, turn around.
  464. 18:34Turn to the front of the door.
  465. 18:35She's not letting them watch each other.
  466. 18:37CHRISTI: It's like the Blair Witch Project.
  467. 18:40ABBY: Let the body and the head go with that straddle leap.
  468. 18:43MELISSA: What's the purpose?
  469. 18:45You know, if she wants them to be motivated,
  470. 18:47they need to watch each other and motivate one another.
  471. 18:50ABBY: Finish the movement for the arms.
  472. 18:54All right.
  473. 18:55[music - "you can be anything"]
  474. 18:59It takes a moment to break a butterfly.
  475. 19:03On the way--
  476. 19:04- Which is weird. - I know.
  477. 19:05I'm sorry.
  478. 19:06Face the wall.
  479. 19:07HOLLY: You see them both working on a solo at the same time.
  480. 19:09The judges be like, didn't I just see this dance?
  481. 19:12[music - "you can be anything"] I still hear them say,
  482. 19:16you can be anything, anything, anything you dreamed of.
  483. 19:24This is a toss-up, and I think both of them want this bad.
  484. 19:28They're both dancing great.
  485. 19:30Good, good.
  486. 19:32Is the reason why you're so quiet is because you don't have
  487. 19:34any complaints or is it because you're satisfied?
  488. 19:37I have some other things going on.
  489. 19:38KRISTIE RAY: I think you're preoccupied in your mind.
  490. 19:40OK, OK.
  491. 19:41I really do have a lot on my mind,
  492. 19:43and she's sitting right to the left of me.
  493. 19:45ABBY: You're dismissed.
  494. 19:46Thank you very much.
  495. 19:47Grab a drink and bring the group in.
  496. 19:49OK, girls!
  497. 19:50Well, where's the pink ribbon?
  498. 19:52I need that, like, right now.
  499. 19:54Now, you would think the moms would want to help out and get
  500. 19:57the ribbon to the kids.
  501. 19:58But no, it's still not ready.
  502. 20:00I have a little job for my two favorite Dance Moms.
  503. 20:04So you want me to go ask them to find the white elastic,
  504. 20:06find the light pink dye, and dye it?
  505. 20:09Give it to Christi and Kelly.
  506. 20:12All right.
  507. 20:14I have a request.
  508. 20:15No, it's not from me, from Maddie.
  509. 20:17She wants Miss Christi and Kelly to go downstairs.
  510. 20:20All right.
  511. 20:21Let's go.
  512. 20:22Do we need instructions?
  513. 20:24I think we could figure it out.
  514. 20:25MELISSA: Christi and Kelly in the same room together?
  515. 20:28I don't know how this is going to turn out.
  516. 20:29I think it's great that Christi and Kelly were picked
  517. 20:32to go down because I think maybe that will kind of break
  518. 20:34the ice.
  519. 20:36[suspenseful music]
  520. 20:44HOLLY: Well, hopefully, they are using this time
  521. 20:47to just talk, or laugh, or let go, and it's not so intense.
  522. 20:51I think it's, what, been a week.
  523. 20:54I think they want it to go away.
  524. 20:55I really do. - I don't.
  525. 20:57I don't think they'll ever be the same.
  526. 21:06ABBY: Hey, moms!
  527. 21:07You want to come on down here?
  528. 21:09I have the costumes, and I want to talk
  529. 21:11about the routine a little bit!
  530. 21:12What's going to go down this weekend.
  531. 21:13Come on.
  532. 21:17KELLY: Oh, they're very sheer.
  533. 21:19ABBY: Listen to me.
  534. 21:21How many people here know somebody that's died of cancer?
  535. 21:30Is that a painful thing?
  536. 21:32Is it a loss of dignity?
  537. 21:35You know what that means, girls?
  538. 21:37You're not in control of your body.
  539. 21:40Yes, you feel this big.
  540. 21:46How many of you think you can live through that?
  541. 21:55I did that.
  542. 21:59I had to do that.
  543. 22:02My dad had a brain tumor.
  544. 22:05He had a seizure and collapsed on the bathroom floor.
  545. 22:09It's not pretty.
  546. 22:12And you're all very pretty.
  547. 22:16Come here.
  548. 22:19Right now, people are living with the ribbon.
  549. 22:23People are living with cancer every day.
  550. 22:26And that's what you're showing.
  551. 22:28That's what the dance is about.
  552. 22:30Are you crying because I'm sad?
  553. 22:32Who, who passed away?
  554. 22:34Well, my dad when I wasn't born--
  555. 22:36but it was, like, a long time ago.
  556. 22:39My dad, his dog, Diablo died.
  557. 22:42It was just so hard for him.
  558. 22:44ABBY: His what?
  559. 22:46His daughter?
  560. 22:48[laughter]
  561. 22:51Dogs do get cancer.
  562. 22:52It's horrible, I know.
  563. 22:54Let's wipe away the tears.
  564. 22:56Let's think positively.
  565. 22:58We win the dance, maybe we'll win the cure for cancer,
  566. 23:02all right?
  567. 23:04Let's go.
  568. 23:13Let's go, let's go.
  569. 23:15[chattering]
  570. 23:19Today, we're at POWERHOUSE dance competition
  571. 23:22in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
  572. 23:24Stay close, ladies.
  573. 23:25I can't explain how important it is for the girls to win today.
  574. 23:30They're coming off a big victory,
  575. 23:32and they need to keep the momentum going.
  576. 23:34All right, girls, you know the drill.
  577. 23:36[techno music playing]
  578. 23:48KRISTIE RAY: While I'm watching Kenzie,--
  579. 23:49ABBY: Lots of energy from the top.
  580. 23:51KRISTIE RAY: -- what I'm really thinking right now is,
  581. 23:54can you be cute all your life?
  582. 23:56Can that cute factor last?
  583. 23:57I don't think so.
  584. 24:00ABBY: Look right at the judge, like, come on.
  585. 24:02Right, as for the knee, longer.
  586. 24:04It has to be up there longer.
  587. 24:07OK.
  588. 24:08Shall we?
  589. 24:11[upbeat music playing]
  590. 24:18MELISSA: I'm really nervous for Mackenzie.
  591. 24:20Abby always says that Asia has more energy than Mackenzie.
  592. 24:23I just hope Mackenzie proves Abby wrong today.
  593. 24:31MC: Coming to the stage now would be entry number 17.
  594. 24:35Entry number 1, 7 is a the mini solo division.
  595. 24:38Here is Mackenzie with Old West.
  596. 24:43[MUSIC - TUMBLEDOWN HOUSE, "OLD POTOSI"]
  597. 24:52South of the old Potosi, East of the Toston Dam,
  598. 24:57West of the Robber's Roost, there's a lay of land.
  599. 25:01You best believe there's no governor.
  600. 25:03No, Sheriff runs this town.
  601. 25:06Well, Old Roy might lock you up.
  602. 25:08But he'll turn you out if you buy the next round.
  603. 25:10Yes, those woods went up in a mighty blaze.
  604. 25:19[applause]
  605. 25:20MELISSA: Yay, Kenz!
  606. 25:22[cheering]
  607. 25:25MELISSA: I think Mackenzie did great today.
  608. 25:27She had a lot of energy and great technique.
  609. 25:29It's going to be a tough act to follow.
  610. 25:35Mackenzie's going to have to watch out, because Asia
  611. 25:36is going to be on fire.
  612. 25:38It's going to be too hot to handle.
  613. 25:39Those judges are going to love it.
  614. 25:42MC: Coming to the stage now, we've
  615. 25:43got entry number 18, the mini solo division,
  616. 25:47here is Asia with Too Hot to Handle.
  617. 25:53[MUSIC - TRIFECTA, "2 HOT 2 HANDLE"]
  618. 25:59Oh, here it comes, here it comes.
  619. 26:02Always the same.
  620. 26:05Here we go.
  621. 26:06Every time I'm dancing up in the club, everybody wanna
  622. 26:09come get with me.
  623. 26:10They ask me, you got a boyfriend?
  624. 26:12No, no, no, no.
  625. 26:14Aw!
  626. 26:15Too hot, too hot to handle.
  627. 26:17Baby, I'm too hot to handle.
  628. 26:19This-- Too, too hot.
  629. 26:23Too, too hot.
  630. 26:28[cheering]
  631. 26:33KRISTIE RAY: Asia came out there smoking.
  632. 26:37She just grabs the audience.
  633. 26:39This performance is probably one of her best ones.
  634. 26:41[cheering]
  635. 26:45I'm so proud of you.
  636. 26:46You could do it.
  637. 26:48Asia, why were you on stage singing the lyrics?
  638. 26:54I thought Asia's dancing was outstanding.
  639. 26:56But the lip-synching?
  640. 26:58Come on.
  641. 27:00You ruined your entire number because everyone was looking
  642. 27:04at what you were saying.
  643. 27:05I even motioned to you from my seat.
  644. 27:08Asia, every goal and obstacle we conquer, you throw yourself
  645. 27:14back two steps.
  646. 27:16She told me that I lip-synched almost half the song.
  647. 27:18Miss Abby can yell at me.
  648. 27:19She's not going to make me cry.
  649. 27:21Mackenzie, did you watch Asia from the wings?
  650. 27:23Yes.
  651. 27:24ABBY: What'd you learn?
  652. 27:27[laughter]
  653. 27:30I have bigger and much more important things to worry about
  654. 27:33than lip-synching.
  655. 27:35Maddie and Chloe solos are up soon.
  656. 27:37This is a big, big moment for both of them.
  657. 27:42Your elbows.
  658. 27:44OK.
  659. 27:45Come here, roll around, step up, roll that way.
  660. 27:50Yes, yes.
  661. 27:53Chloe, you're up.
  662. 27:57Big smile there.
  663. 27:59Floor head a little bit.
  664. 28:00Make sure you didn't force charge relevé on that foot.
  665. 28:03This is Chloe's moment.
  666. 28:04This is her opportunity to step out there and take
  667. 28:07that spotlight.
  668. 28:08Ladies, make me proud.
  669. 28:10OK.
  670. 28:11[upbeat music playing]
  671. 28:20CHRISTI: Chloe's ready.
  672. 28:21She knows what an opportunity it is,
  673. 28:24and she knows what it means to prove to Abby that she
  674. 28:27is someone to be reckoned with.
  675. 28:28MC: Coming up now is entry number 19 from the Junior Solo
  676. 28:32division, here's Chloe with You Can.
  677. 28:36[music - "you can be anything"]
  678. 28:45It takes a moment to break a butterfly.
  679. 28:50On the way up, that's when you hear an angel cry.
  680. 28:54Voices inside me, I still hear them say,
  681. 29:03you can be anything, anything, anything you dreamed of.
  682. 29:11Anything you dreamed of.
  683. 29:17Chloe danced beautifully.
  684. 29:19And if I were Melissa and Maddie, I'd be worried.
  685. 29:23I'm a little concerned about this dance
  686. 29:26because I really wanna win.
  687. 29:28Even though Chloe's my friend, I still
  688. 29:31wanna just make Miss Abby proud.
  689. 29:34MC: Up next is entry number 20 in the Junior solo division.
  690. 29:38Here's Maddie with Be Anything.
  691. 29:43[music - "you can be anything"]
  692. 29:53It takes a moment to break a butterfly.
  693. 29:58On the way up, that's when you hear an angel cry.
  694. 30:02Voices inside me, I still hear them say,
  695. 30:10You can be anything, anything, anything you dreamed of.
  696. 30:18Anything you dreamed of.
  697. 30:27[applause]
  698. 30:33MC: Entry number 20, Maddie with Be Anything.
  699. 30:40MACKENZIE: Oh God, thank you.
  700. 30:42Ow!
  701. 30:43Get away.
  702. 30:47Ah!
  703. 30:49What?
  704. 30:50Maddie babbled one of her turns.
  705. 30:52But she did dance beautifully.
  706. 30:53But I think she could have done better.
  707. 31:12ABBY: Well, well, well.
  708. 31:14That was an experience.
  709. 31:16KELLY: Do you think that this experiment that you're doing,
  710. 31:20do you think it worked?
  711. 31:21Hey, I'm thrilled that Chloe can remember the dance.
  712. 31:24JILL: Abby, who do you think will come out on top?
  713. 31:26Well, I don't know.
  714. 31:28It's in the judges' hands.
  715. 31:30I tried to find out who the judges were, you know.
  716. 31:33JILL: I know Abby said she gave the girls an even
  717. 31:35playing field.
  718. 31:36But I know what I'm sitting on.
  719. 31:38I know what I have evidence of Maddie having an extra private.
  720. 31:43We're at the studio one afternoon,
  721. 31:45and we have Maddie on videotape learning her solo.
  722. 31:47MELISSA: Don't even go there with me, Jill.
  723. 31:49It was the same day--
  724. 31:50CHRISTI: You're-- Melissa, you're lying.
  725. 31:51You're lying.
  726. 31:53Jill and I found your daughter learning her dance.
  727. 31:56[bleep] You know nothing.
  728. 31:58CHRISTI: All we're saying is that you're known to lie.
  729. 32:00JILL: Everybody here deserves the truth.
  730. 32:02That is the truth.
  731. 32:03ABBY: (ANGRILY) What difference does it make?
  732. 32:05You all know damn well Maddie can
  733. 32:06learn the dance in one hour, and go out there, and do it.
  734. 32:08Save yourself the aggravation.
  735. 32:09OK.
  736. 32:10ABBY: She has it, and she has it right now.
  737. 32:12I don't have time to worry about this solo drama.
  738. 32:14It's done.
  739. 32:15It's old news.
  740. 32:16I need to get everybody ready for the group number.
  741. 32:19Sloppy feet.
  742. 32:20Why is everyone looking at the ground?
  743. 32:22Paige, you have to do the whole step.
  744. 32:25Stretch the back of those knees.
  745. 32:27Come on!
  746. 32:28Right there, on the sauté and forth.
  747. 32:30Dégagé.
  748. 32:31Get your feet down into the ground and point right down!
  749. 32:34I hope the girls take this routine very seriously.
  750. 32:37It means a lot to me personally and lots
  751. 32:40of people in the audience.
  752. 32:41I talked about my dad, and I talked about a disease that
  753. 32:45can be very ugly.
  754. 32:46People live with cancer every day
  755. 32:48and other people die from cancer every day.
  756. 32:51And people put up a good fight, so let's go out there.
  757. 32:54Let's fight.
  758. 32:55Let's work together.
  759. 32:56All right, let's go. Moms, we're going.
  760. 32:58We'll see you there.
  761. 32:59Brooke, Paige, come here.
  762. 33:00I want to talk to you for a second.
  763. 33:01You do know that Papa Kuhn had cancer, right?
  764. 33:06So when you are on stage, do this dance for him.
  765. 33:12OK?
  766. 33:13Do it for Papa Kuhn, OK?
  767. 33:16I told the girls to dance for the grandpap, Papa Kuhn.
  768. 33:19He's living with cancer right now.
  769. 33:21And I want them to go out there and think about how much he
  770. 33:24loves them while they're out there dancing.
  771. 33:27MC: Taking the stage right now is entry number 87
  772. 33:30in the Junior, small group category.
  773. 33:33Here they are with Living with the Ribbon.
  774. 33:36[cheering]
  775. 33:41[MUSIC - CHAD AND ERICA REISSER, "LEANING IN"]
  776. 33:44I can't stop what's coming.
  777. 33:50I suppose that I try to run and hide.
  778. 33:57But that is not what I intend to do, do, do, do, do.
  779. 34:04'Cause if I am still standing, I might as well lean in,
  780. 34:13might as well lean in.
  781. 34:19I'm blessed by every day that you are with me.
  782. 34:27That you are with me.
  783. 34:37[applause]
  784. 34:46KELLY: My girls went out, and they dedicated this dance
  785. 34:49to my dad.
  786. 34:50And I just know that he would be so happy to be here
  787. 34:55to see them.
  788. 34:56And he'd be proud of them.
  789. 35:03I think Papi would be really happy with your performance
  790. 35:06today.
  791. 35:08It's hard to see Kelly crying, thinking about the hard times
  792. 35:11she went through when her father had prostate cancer.
  793. 35:13And what really hit home to me is that people come and go
  794. 35:16so quickly in your life.
  795. 35:17And you know, I love Kelly.
  796. 35:19She's like a sister.
  797. 35:21And even if you don't always like your sister,
  798. 35:23you always love your sister
  799. 35:25Mm, I know.
  800. 35:31We need to just get past this.
  801. 35:33It might not be exactly the same as it was before,
  802. 35:36but life's too short to lose friendships.
  803. 35:40[upbeat music playing]
  804. 35:46MC: It is now time for our Junior small group division.
  805. 35:50MELISSA: This is a really big dance for us,
  806. 35:51and a first place win would really mean a lot to us.
  807. 35:54In second place, entry number 86, from Z Company,
  808. 35:58He's My Son.
  809. 35:59[applause]
  810. 36:01And in first place, entry number
  811. 36:0487, from Abby Lee Dance Company, Living with the Ribbon.
  812. 36:08[cheering]
  813. 36:10MC: Give them a round of applause.
  814. 36:14I think this was a great day for the Abby Lee Dance Company.
  815. 36:17We were victorious.
  816. 36:18We won the overall high score, and I'm very proud of the kids.
  817. 36:22It is now time for our divisional overalls.
  818. 36:30In second place, from Abby Lee Dance Company,
  819. 36:33entry number 17, Old West.
  820. 36:39MacKenzie got second place in her solo.
  821. 36:42I know she's disappointed, and she really wanted first place.
  822. 36:47MC: And in first place, entry number 18
  823. 36:50from Abby Lee Dance Company, Too Hot to Handle.
  824. 36:58KRISTIE RAY: Asia showed that today she was the better
  825. 37:01dancer.
  826. 37:02MC: Give them a round of applause.
  827. 37:08Elite high point awards for the Junior division.
  828. 37:11In the Junior solo category, third place,
  829. 37:13entry number 15 from Tiffany and Company, Escape.
  830. 37:18At this point, I really don't know
  831. 37:20who I think is going to win.
  832. 37:21I think they both did things very well.
  833. 37:23And I think they both did things that could have been better.
  834. 37:26Second place, entry number 20 from Abby Lee Dance Company,
  835. 37:33Be Anything.
  836. 37:42I think it was probably a tight call.
  837. 37:43It doesn't mean that one dancer's better than the other.
  838. 37:46And in first place, Junior Solo in the Junior Division
  839. 37:49elite high point awards, entry number 19 from Abby Lee Dance
  840. 37:53Company, You Can.
  841. 37:55[cheering]
  842. 37:59I'm so happy for Chloe.
  843. 38:02This is a huge boost to her confidence,
  844. 38:04and it just proves to Abby once and for all
  845. 38:06that Chloe is a force to be reckoned with.
  846. 38:09MC: Give them a round of applause.
  847. 38:26MELISSA: Why not?
  848. 38:27I don't care.
  849. 38:35Abby said it in front of the other moms,
  850. 38:37I'm surprised Chloe won.
  851. 38:39And she said it right in front of everyone else.
  852. 38:41PAIGE: I think Maddie got really upset whenever she found out
  853. 38:44that she didn't win.
  854. 38:45But I thought they both did a fabulous job, so I don't think
  855. 38:48it matters who the winner is.
  856. 38:50Don't be sad.
  857. 38:51I'm not sad.
  858. 38:52Do you not see me smiling?
  859. 38:54No, I wasn't.
  860. 38:55Paige, did you not see me smiling the whole award?
  861. 38:57Sorry.
  862. 38:58[chuckles]
  863. 39:01[excited chatter]
  864. 39:08You were great.
  865. 39:09I mean, I thought your dance was wonderful.
  866. 39:10It's beautiful.
  867. 39:11I mean, it's, you know--
  868. 39:14it's all good.
  869. 39:16Hey!
  870. 39:18Congratulations!
  871. 39:22Hey!
  872. 39:24We had a goof.
  873. 39:26One of our judges, they gave Chloe a 99- 10.
  874. 39:29She actually had a 96- 6, because they gave her a 27- 5
  875. 39:33in a category that only had 25 points.
  876. 39:36That means that the overall winner would have been Maddie.
  877. 39:42Congratulations, Maddie.
  878. 39:44ABBY: Thank you so much.
  879. 39:45We appreciate that.
  880. 39:46MC: Yes, I'm sorry.
  881. 39:46Hey, you know, things happen.
  882. 39:49All right.
  883. 39:50Thank you very much.
  884. 39:53Woohoo!

  887. 40:00on being great sports.
  888. 40:02Mistakes happen.
  889. 40:03CHLOE: The director of the competition
  890. 40:04told us that there was a mistake in the scores
  891. 40:06and that, um, I didn't really win and, Maddie won.
  892. 40:09And I was a little upset, but I was really happy for Maddie.
  893. 40:12ABBY: Mackenzie, what are you doing there with the hairdo?
  894. 40:15What did I tell you?
  895. 40:16Never leave home without your bows.
  896. 40:17Are you kidding me that it just so happened that Chloe
  897. 40:20and Maddie's scores were the only ones,
  898. 40:22out of the entire competition with 80-some routines,
  899. 40:25that were incorrect?
  900. 40:26Are you kidding?
  901. 40:30JILL: So Abby, how did you discover the discrepancy
  902. 40:33between the 30 point, the 25 point?
  903. 40:36ABBY: I didn't.
  904. 40:37They came to me.
  905. 40:38I guess the judges said there's a problem.
  906. 40:40We have a problem.
  907. 40:41MC: I'm sorry. - Yes?
  908. 40:42You OK?
  909. 40:43I stole your score sheets.
  910. 40:45I kept them with me, and I wanted to say,
  911. 40:49once again, I was--
  912. 40:50doesn't happen that often at all.
  913. 40:52But I wanted to say thank you for bringing it
  914. 40:53to our attention.
  915. 40:54Oh, that's all right.
  916. 40:55[suspenseful music playing]
  917. 41:06ABBY: Next on Dance Moms.
  918. 41:07CATHY: We're starting a new ball game.
  919. 41:08This is our opportunity to build and get strong.
  920. 41:12The Dream Team's here.
  921. 41:14Abby's in LA.
  922. 41:15I wanna move to some place sunny or nicer,
  923. 41:19a little more fun.
  924. 41:20CATHY: Show Anthony and show myself
  925. 41:22what you've got to offer.
  926. 41:23Oh, God.
  927. 41:25Put your mouth on vacation.
  928. 41:26[interposing voices]
