87. 2:48and get into the story so first we're
88. 2:50going to start with travis
89. 2:52alexander so travis was born july 29th
90. 2:551977 and growing up travis said that his
91. 2:59life was pretty rough he
92. 3:00was one of eight siblings and his
93. 3:02parents were both meth
94. 3:03addicts it would they would leave the
95. 3:05kids to pretty much fend for themselves
96. 3:08most of the times
97. 3:08travis remembered his mom sleeping for
98. 3:11like four days straight
99. 3:12and the kids tried their best to make
100. 3:14dinner with what was left in the kitchen
101. 3:16which was like nothing more than can
102. 3:19canned soup or spoiled food so as travis
103. 3:21got older he knew like his only
104. 3:23option to saving himself was to get out
105. 3:26of there
106. 3:27so he pretty much moved away to
107. 3:29riverside california
108. 3:30to live with his grandmother now his
109. 3:32grandmother
110. 3:33she took him in she was a mormon
111. 3:36and she introduced him to her faith now
112. 3:39travis took
113. 3:40his new faith very seriously he went to
114. 3:42church consistently
115. 3:43and was dedicated to his new religion
116. 3:46even as he grew up and gained his own
117. 3:48independence he was still very loyal so
118. 3:50when travis
119. 3:52graduated high school that's when he
120. 3:54went on a mission with his church which
121. 3:55is kind of like a rite of passage
122. 3:58after that he then moved to mesa arizona
123. 4:01because it was known for
124. 4:03its mormon faith-based community mesa
125. 4:06arizona it's located pretty close to
126. 4:09phoenix
127. 4:09and is a good size it's a good-sized
128. 4:11city with like a warm
129. 4:13desert climate not even warm it's hot as
130. 4:15balls out there don't even lie i don't
131. 4:17know how you guys do it out there you
132. 4:18guys are wild
133. 4:19which honestly that was new for me i
134. 4:21didn't know mesa arizona was like mormon
135. 4:23based
136. 4:23so reading that i was like oh good to
137. 4:25know i don't know why but i didn't know
138. 4:27that
139. 4:27fun fact so then travis got a job with
140. 4:30prepaid legal services
141. 4:32which was a multi-level marketing
142. 4:34company
143. 4:35now known as legal shield multi-level
144. 4:38marketing or direct selling
145. 4:40is massive in the mormon community
146. 4:42they're often called
147. 4:43you know pyramid schemes and not really
148. 4:45known
149. 4:46for being the most legit way to do
150. 4:48business
151. 4:49so travis was working there and he also
152. 4:52found a passion as a motivational
153. 4:54speaker
154. 4:55so sharing his story and his struggles
155. 4:57with others who have maybe gone through
156. 4:59the same thing as him
157. 5:00his rough upbringing he beat the odds he
158. 5:03he broke the cycle got away from
159. 5:05drugs i was a kid like that's that's
160. 5:07great and he just wanted to share that
161. 5:09story i support that
162. 5:10who won it he was also writing a book
163. 5:13about everything that he had been
164. 5:14through
165. 5:15called raising me and also worked on a
166. 5:17blog where he was sharing his story his
167. 5:20thoughts
168. 5:21all that stuff now at the age of 29
169. 5:23travis
170. 5:24was pretty successful he was good
171. 5:26looking he had a lot of friends he
172. 5:28loved making people laugh and was known
173. 5:30to be quite a flirt
174. 5:32with his work success he was able to buy
175. 5:35his own home
176. 5:36and he also rented out two rooms to his
177. 5:38friends
178. 5:39and also had a little black pug named
179. 5:42napoleon
180. 5:43yeah i mean things just seem to be going
181. 5:45really well for travis
182. 5:47now we are going to talk a little bit
183. 5:49about jody who is the other player in
184. 5:51this story
185. 5:52the killer let's just say it because she
186. 5:54is now jody
187. 5:56jodie jody jody so jody was born july 9
188. 6:001980 in salinas california now she was
189. 6:03the oldest of three
190. 6:05and there's really not much said about
191. 6:08her upbringing
192. 6:08it seemed somewhat normal in middle
193. 6:11school
194. 6:12her parents discovered that she was
195. 6:13attempting to grow weed
196. 6:15in some tupperware and she was storing
197. 6:18it on
198. 6:19their roof her parents come across us
199. 6:21they find it right so her parents then
200. 6:22are like okay we're gonna search your
201. 6:24room because we need to
202. 6:25see what else you got you got the
203. 6:26devil's lettuce not today
204. 6:28they go through her room and jody said
205. 6:30that they were invading her personal
206. 6:33space
207. 6:33and she just felt like the trust between
208. 6:35them was completely broken
209. 6:37jody would write in her diary a lot
210. 6:39saying how her parents
211. 6:40completely violated her space but it's
212. 6:42like babe
213. 6:43you're middle school you're growing weed
214. 6:45like what do you expect
215. 6:46and i mean that was like one thing about
216. 6:49her upbringing
217. 6:50i'm laughing because it's like her
218. 6:51parents seemed to to try
219. 6:53they tried and i don't know where it
220. 6:54went wrong so when jody was in high
221. 6:56school
222. 6:57the family moved to a new town and jody
223. 6:59would write in her diary how she
224. 7:02felt like really out of place like she
225. 7:03didn't belong there
226. 7:05she seemed very upset and very alone
227. 7:07like she really didn't have anyone to
228. 7:09talk to i think this may be way too dark
229. 7:11whoopsie-daisy so her parents described
230. 7:14her as being
231. 7:14intelligent but strange her father would
232. 7:17say
233. 7:18that they thought perhaps maybe jody was
234. 7:20bipolar because she would be
235. 7:22fine one second and then the next second
236. 7:24she would fly into a fit of rage
237. 7:26her dad said that jody was very verbally
238. 7:28abusive towards her
239. 7:30mother but was the kind of person that
240. 7:32never took responsibility for her
241. 7:33actions
242. 7:34there seemed to be like some kind of
243. 7:35tension going on between jody and her
244. 7:37parents
245. 7:38she was hard to understand but they
246. 7:40seemed like
247. 7:41they tried their their best to raise her
248. 7:44so in high school this is when jody was
249. 7:45introduced to photography
250. 7:47and she found just a new love she
251. 7:49enjoyed taking photos
252. 7:50and would take them at any chance she
253. 7:53could now in 2004
254. 7:55she moved down to palm desert california
255. 7:58with a boyfriend that she had been
256. 7:59seeing
257. 8:00at the time the couple they had moved
258. 8:02into a home together and jody was still
259. 8:04doing photography
260. 8:05but she also got a job working as a
261. 8:08saleswoman for a place called
262. 8:10legal shield the prepaid legal service
263. 8:13that
264. 8:13travis also worked for so september 2006
265. 8:18legalshield was holding a work
266. 8:20conference in las vegas
267. 8:21where they had a bunch of their
268. 8:23employees come out travel expenses
269. 8:25covered
270. 8:26great go to vegas all paid
271. 8:29you don't gotta tell me twice so at this
272. 8:32like convention
273. 8:33they would meet different team members
274. 8:35they would attend different speaking
275. 8:37events
276. 8:38get motivated to sell sell sell you know
277. 8:41so on one of the nights
278. 8:43there were a group of people meeting up
279. 8:44to have dinner at the rainforest cafe
280. 8:47bougie a group of people including jody
281. 8:50were there
282. 8:51they're like standing outside kind of
283. 8:52waiting to be called in to be seated
284. 8:54so then travis walks up to the to the
285. 8:56group and introduces himself and he goes
286. 8:58up to jody he's like hi
287. 9:00i'm travis and everyone who was around
288. 9:02them said that there was an
289. 9:04instant connection between jody and
290. 9:06travis they just
291. 9:07really hit it off so the whole dinner
292. 9:09the two they talked and they got to know
293. 9:11one another
294. 9:12travis seemed smitten friends and
295. 9:15co-workers were excited because travis
296. 9:17had been single for a long time
297. 9:19and everybody was just really rooting
298. 9:21for him to find
299. 9:22the one the one that he was going to
300. 9:25marry
301. 9:26so when they saw uh jody and travis
302. 9:28chatting it up
303. 9:30everyone was like oh yeah like she's the
304. 9:32one this is so great i'm so happy for
305. 9:34him
306. 9:34i just need a little bit more concealer
307. 9:37anyway so that night jody and travis
308. 9:38they stayed up until four in the morning
309. 9:40just talking about
310. 9:41life religion and everything so the next
311. 9:44day travis was telling co-workers and
312. 9:46friends that he wanted to spend the rest
313. 9:48of his life with her
314. 9:50and that jody was just perfect the only
315. 9:52downside was that she wasn't
316. 9:54mormon he couldn't be with her unless
317. 9:57she became
318. 9:58mormon so once the work convention was
319. 10:01over
320. 10:01jody and travis they exchanged phone
321. 10:04numbers
322. 10:04but they both had to go their separate
323. 10:07ways travis went back to mesa arizona
324. 10:10and jody went back to palm desert they
325. 10:12did keep in contact
326. 10:13pretty much forming a long-distance
327. 10:15relationship so
328. 10:17remember how i said that jody was in a
329. 10:18relationship yeah she was
330. 10:20so she goes back on her boyfriend she
331. 10:22ends up breaking it off with the guy
332. 10:24she knew it wasn't going anywhere she
333. 10:26wanted to get married she wanted to have
334. 10:27family one day
335. 10:28and her current boyfriend was already
336. 10:31married once before
337. 10:32and he did not want to do that again so
338. 10:34they broke up
339. 10:35jody and travis still kept in touch and
340. 10:38travis thought that maybe he can
341. 10:40introduce the mormon religion
342. 10:42to jody so he gave her the book of
343. 10:44mormon and he invited her
344. 10:47to church a couple of times he had
345. 10:50mormon missionaries go out to her home
346. 10:52knock on the door they're like hey do
347. 10:55you know where you're going when you die
348. 10:56or whatever they say nowadays travis
349. 10:59said that when like any time he spoke to
350. 11:00jody he would always try and sneak in
351. 11:02you know some bible quotes just trying
352. 11:04to give her a good impression
353. 11:06of the mormon religion he later gave her
354. 11:09a ctr ring which is like a purity ring
355. 11:11he gave her some jesus paintings
356. 11:14and their church president's biography
357. 11:16some sources
358. 11:17had said that jody she already had been
359. 11:20taking an interest in mormonism before
360. 11:22meeting travis
361. 11:23probably because of her job it was like
362. 11:25all mormons working there
363. 11:28but it seems like their relationship is
364. 11:30what really got her
365. 11:32more involved with the church so only
366. 11:34two months later on november 26
367. 11:372006 jody was baptized into the church
368. 11:40of jesus christ of latter-day saints and
369. 11:43travis was the one who baptized her
370. 11:45so she was in in february of 2007 jody
371. 11:48and travis
372. 11:49made it official still they were living
373. 11:52in different states but they would call
374. 11:54an
375. 11:54email often the two of them they would
376. 11:56take a lot of vacations together because
377. 11:58they didn't live in the same place
378. 12:00so it just became easier to like meet at
379. 12:02a location
380. 12:03spend some time together jody would
381. 12:06bring her camera and they would take a
382. 12:07bunch of pictures
383. 12:08they bought this book that was like a
384. 12:10thousand places you have to see before
385. 12:12you die
386. 12:13and they were um going through that list
387. 12:16and just traveling together so over the
388. 12:18course of their relationship
389. 12:20they exchanged 82 000 emails and
390. 12:24they sexted often the couple had some
391. 12:27hot steamy sex
392. 12:28and travis would refer to jody as his
393. 12:31kryptonite now in the mormon
394. 12:32faith having sexual relations is a big
395. 12:35nae nae
396. 12:37i mean a big one though but travis and
397. 12:39jody were giving into temptation
398. 12:42and getting all sorts of freaky
399. 12:43occasionally jody would bring her camera
400. 12:45into the bedroom with the two of them
401. 12:48you know for some memories travis said
402. 12:51at the time
403. 12:52it felt like he had a big weight on his
404. 12:54shoulders because
405. 12:55he knew like what he was doing and he
406. 12:57knew he shouldn't have been having sex
407. 12:59but he would tell people like he was
408. 13:02almost
409. 13:02addicted to her so jody again she was
410. 13:05still
411. 13:06technically living in palm desert but
412. 13:08she would go out to travis's house
413. 13:10in mesa arizona and she would stay like
414. 13:12the night at his house every so often
415. 13:15and friends and roommates they were
416. 13:16there and they said that they just got a
417. 13:18really weird feeling about
418. 13:20jody not even a weird feeling they just
419. 13:21like didn't like her because they
420. 13:23noticed how possessive she was over him
421. 13:25so travis's friend said that jody would
422. 13:28literally
423. 13:28follow him everywhere hold on uh there
424. 13:31we go
425. 13:32jody would follow him everywhere rarely
426. 13:34was he seen alone
427. 13:35if she was around travis would get up
428. 13:38and go to the bathroom
429. 13:39well guess what jody was going to the
430. 13:40bathroom too she would follow him
431. 13:42and then she would wait outside the door
432. 13:44she would wait for him
433. 13:46travis would be on his phone and jody
434. 13:48would be like who are you talking to
435. 13:50what are you talking about
436. 13:51she would check his phone she would
437. 13:52check his emails she would hack his
438. 13:54myspace
439. 13:56myspace was a thing at this point she
440. 13:58would hack his myspace
441. 13:59read his messages it was a little much
442. 14:01travis's friends
443. 14:03they sat him down and they were like hey
444. 14:05we're worried about you bud
445. 14:06jody is very possessive of you and we're
446. 14:09just worried that she's gonna hurt you
447. 14:11so they're telling him all this and
448. 14:12while speaking they're in travis's
449. 14:14bedroom
450. 14:14door was shut and then another friend
451. 14:16who was inside was like i bet you she's
452. 14:18outside the door right now and they say
453. 14:19this like super low like
454. 14:21go check travis sneaks up the door and
455. 14:23he opens it and
456. 14:24tada jody was indeed standing right
457. 14:26outside the door listening in and i
458. 14:28think this was kind of like this
459. 14:29eye-opening moment for travis who's like
460. 14:31oh my god like yeah this
461. 14:33is a problem so one of travis's friends
462. 14:36pulls jody aside and just tells the
463. 14:39truth we think
464. 14:40you know you're very possessive over him
465. 14:42and we just don't think you two are a
466. 14:43good fit
467. 14:44but all jody cared about was what travis
468. 14:47thought
469. 14:47and if he still just wanted to be with
470. 14:49her it seemed this is a personal opinion
471. 14:51but based off like the interviews and
472. 14:52stuff i've i watched it seemed like jody
473. 14:55didn't really care what the friends said
474. 14:56it doesn't matter what you guys
475. 14:58think what does travis think so jody
476. 15:00went back home and travis told jody
477. 15:02look it's over okay it's just better if
478. 15:04we're apart
479. 15:05please don't contact me any longer this
480. 15:08did not stop
481. 15:09jody okay sure did not at some point
482. 15:11look real talk at some point jody and
483. 15:13travis do break up over the phone
484. 15:16jody catches travis kind of flirting
485. 15:18with somebody else
486. 15:19and she breaks up with him and then he
487. 15:21goes crawling back to her
488. 15:23begging for her to take him back and he
489. 15:25even proposes to her and she turns them
490. 15:27down
491. 15:28and then they get back together and then
492. 15:29i think this happened i couldn't exactly
493. 15:31figure out
494. 15:32where that took place was it after this
495. 15:35or was it before this so they break up
496. 15:37at least travis thinks they broke up
497. 15:38that didn't stop jody though she would
498. 15:40write
499. 15:40emails to travis telling him that she
500. 15:42had a stalker
501. 15:44and that someone was following her and
502. 15:46watching her through the windows
503. 15:47she said that this stalker was telling
504. 15:50her that she should be with him
505. 15:52the stalker and not with travis because
506. 15:54he was in a different state
507. 15:56and he didn't deserve her so jody's
508. 15:58telling um travis this in an email that
509. 16:01she's scared and whatnot
510. 16:02so travis is a little worried about jody
511. 16:04and he tells his friends like oh my gosh
512. 16:06i'm scared for her she needs
513. 16:08help and then the friends kind of kick
514. 16:10some common sense into him
515. 16:12they're like no jody obviously wrote
516. 16:14this this email herself
517. 16:15because she wants you to invite her to
518. 16:17live with you now this was never proven
519. 16:20but based off of jody and what she does
520. 16:23you know i i believe this is probably
521. 16:26true she just wanted
522. 16:27attention from travis she was trying to
523. 16:30get him to
524. 16:31invite her over to his house anything
525. 16:34she could
526. 16:34so jody couldn't afford her house
527. 16:37anymore and she had to
528. 16:39sell it now she said that travis begged
529. 16:41her to move to mesa to be closer to him
530. 16:44but the reality was she moved about 10
531. 16:48minutes away from travis
532. 16:50and didn't even tell him no
533. 16:53she moved 10 minutes away from him
534. 16:56didn't tell
535. 16:56jodie no jody didn't talk to her family
536. 17:00much she didn't really have much of a
537. 17:02relationship with them but
538. 17:04she would talk to them every so often
539. 17:06and she told them that
540. 17:07she was moving to mesa because she was
541. 17:10planning on
542. 17:11marrying travis and that's really all
543. 17:13they knew
544. 17:14she they never met travis never saw him
545. 17:16rarely saw her
546. 17:18and they were just kind of like okay
547. 17:20she's getting married apparently
548. 17:21so after moving to mesa she went to go
549. 17:24surprise him
550. 17:25let travis know that she moved in you
551. 17:28know just down the street
552. 17:29so she goes over there to his house and
553. 17:32she discovers that he's with another
554. 17:34girl
555. 17:34on what seemed to be a date she was
556. 17:38upset
557. 17:38you're probably wondering how she saw
558. 17:41like another girl there and stuff
559. 17:43well you best believe jody's looking
560. 17:44through the windows like of just a
561. 17:46full-blown creep
562. 17:48she would keep showing up to his house
563. 17:50unannounced she knew the lock codes
564. 17:53get right in okay she would even break
565. 17:55into his house
566. 17:56through his doggy door yeah she was not
567. 17:59welcome
568. 18:00and this is what she was doing so travis
569. 18:03well
570. 18:03travis said that you know he would stand
571. 18:05his ground be very upset with jody
572. 18:07telling her to leave or to get out
573. 18:09and then other times he would give in
574. 18:11and he would have her stay over some
575. 18:13for some sexual lovin she knew
576. 18:16that like he would give in to her so she
577. 18:18kept doing it nobody was holding her
578. 18:19accountable for her
579. 18:21stupid dumb actions that were also
580. 18:22illegal jodie
581. 18:24told travis that she didn't have a job
582. 18:27yet and she had no money
583. 18:28so travis gave her a job cleaning his
584. 18:30house and
585. 18:31gave her a sexy maid outfit to wear
586. 18:33while she's doing it
587. 18:35travis was trying to move on he found
588. 18:38this girl
589. 18:39through his church named lisa that he
590. 18:41was trying to date or at least
591. 18:42showing a lot of interest in jody was
592. 18:45keeping tabs on this new relationship
593. 18:48by hacking travis's social accounts and
594. 18:51emails seeing the messages that the two
595. 18:53were sharing
596. 18:53jody didn't like this somebody coming up
597. 18:55trying to take her man
598. 18:57so she decided i'm gonna start harassing
599. 19:00lisa
600. 19:00and she would do so by knocking on her
601. 19:03house windows and doors late at night
602. 19:05scaring her obviously that was jody so
603. 19:08one night lisa and travis they're you
604. 19:10know at travis's house watching a movie
605. 19:12together
606. 19:12when travis's dog starts barking letting
607. 19:15them know
608. 19:16somebody's outside so travis he gets up
609. 19:19and he's like i'm gonna go investigate
610. 19:20so he does so he's looking around
611. 19:22outside
612. 19:23who pops up it's jody jody was outside
613. 19:25the house she was peeking through some
614. 19:26windows
615. 19:27she tells him that she was there
616. 19:30watching them
617. 19:30sleep he tells her to leave and she does
618. 19:33but the next morning
619. 19:34lisa got an email from someone unknown
620. 19:37calling her a shameful [ __ ] and
621. 19:39chastised her
622. 19:40in the name of god again there was no
623. 19:43proof that it was jody but if you use
624. 19:45common sense and put two and two
625. 19:46together
626. 19:47maybe you can connect the dots here if
627. 19:50travis went to lisa's house he would
628. 19:52come
629. 19:52outside and find that his tires had been
630. 19:54slashed
631. 19:55jody would write in her journal how
632. 19:57unhappy she was and she just wanted to
633. 19:59die
634. 19:59lisa poor lisa who got involved in the
635. 20:02middle of this she had to tap out
636. 20:03she was like this is too much i can't
637. 20:06handle it somehow
638. 20:08travis convinces jody to move back to
639. 20:10california to live with her grandparents
640. 20:12and figure herself out you know maybe
641. 20:14down the line we could be
642. 20:16friends we can connect just trying to
643. 20:18get her to just go
644. 20:20that's what jody did she moved back to
645. 20:22california to live with her grandparents
646. 20:24so once jody left travis was relieved
647. 20:27and just happy that jody was
648. 20:29was gone jody was working as a waitress
649. 20:32at a restaurant that her parents had
650. 20:34owned
651. 20:34which allowed her time to focus on her
652. 20:37true passion which was photography

690. 21:48talking to him whenever she got the

694. 21:56know that she was recording the

727. 23:03adjusting his priorities in life and how
728. 23:05he would only be dating to mary from now

733. 23:16axe murderer penned up inside of her

735. 23:19that was his last entry may 28 2008
736. 23:23a burglary took place at jody's
737. 23:25grandparents home where jody lived so
738. 23:27jody's grandparents had left her there

740. 23:30after jody left the burglary took place
741. 23:33and these damn burglars they only took
742. 23:36one thing her grandfather's
743. 23:38gun handgun stolen so jody told her
744. 23:41grandparents
745. 23:42like oh my god someone broke in stole
746. 23:44your gun but nothing else like it just
747. 23:46wasn't making sense but it happened it's
748. 23:48random but it'll make sense later
749. 23:50on june 2nd jody made plans to drive up
750. 23:53to utah to visit her new love interest
751. 23:56ryan so before going to her trip to see
752. 23:59ryan she first went to a budget
753. 24:01rent-a-car in reading california
754. 24:04so jody is going there because she wants
755. 24:05to rent a car but mind you this place
756. 24:07was more than an
757. 24:08hour away from her home premeditated
758. 24:12suspect
759. 24:13so she goes to rent a car and they bring
760. 24:15out a red car and she tells them no i
761. 24:17don't want a red car
762. 24:18she felt like it would attract attention
763. 24:20so they gave her a white one instead
764. 24:22and off jody went well she was supposed
765. 24:25to be driving to utah her phone was
766. 24:27turned off
767. 24:28she said it died but then it was turned
768. 24:31back on many hours later
769. 24:33jody was supposed to get to utah on june
770. 24:354th but she didn't arrive until june
771. 24:385th jody called and emailed uh
772. 24:41and texted travis throughout her trip
773. 24:43she even
774. 24:44left a voicemail on the night of the
775. 24:48murder
776. 24:48rambling about making plans and how she
777. 24:51was on her way to utah and had
778. 24:53accidentally driven 100 miles the wrong

781. 24:59floor mats were missing and she

789. 25:13during this time travis was back in mesa
790. 25:16arizona
791. 25:17getting excited because he was going on
792. 25:19another work trip but this time to
793. 25:20cancun mexico
794. 25:22so travis was working out trying to get
795. 25:24in shape because you know he's going to
796. 25:25be in a bathing suit and stuff
797. 25:27but he also invited mimi the woman that
798. 25:29he was interested in
799. 25:30he thought maybe he could take her on
800. 25:32this trip to cancun just as friends
801. 25:34you could show her around show her a
802. 25:36different side
803. 25:37of himself and hopefully she would fall
804. 25:41for him that was the goal but a day
805. 25:43before his work trip on june 9th
806. 25:45nobody had heard from travis he missed
807. 25:48of like a very important work conference
808. 25:51and many found that very unlike him he
809. 25:53wouldn't miss

811. 25:56trying to get in touch with travis
812. 25:57because they were supposed to go
813. 25:59they supposed to be leaving a cancun the
814. 26:01next day and she hadn't heard a thing
815. 26:03so a couple of travis's friends they're
816. 26:06getting worried

818. 26:09him so they decided to all go over to
819. 26:11travis's house
820. 26:12knock on the door they don't get an
821. 26:14answer
822. 26:16nothing they know the garage lock code
823. 26:18so they go and they open up the garage
824. 26:20and they get into the house that's when
825. 26:22travis's roommate comes out he was
826. 26:24listening to like music pretty loud and
827. 26:26just didn't hear them at the door but he
828. 26:27asked them
829. 26:28what's going on like why are you guys
830. 26:30here and they're like have you heard
831. 26:31from travis
832. 26:32and he's thinking travis already left
833. 26:34for cancun he's been gone
834. 26:35and they say no he's not like we're
835. 26:37leaving tomorrow we haven't heard from
836. 26:39him
837. 26:39so they all go over to travis's room the
838. 26:41door is closed and locked
839. 26:43the roommate gets a spare key and opens
840. 26:45up travis's
841. 26:46door so they open up the door and they
842. 26:48get a huge
843. 26:50whiff of something stinky they look down
844. 26:52on the ground and they see this huge
845. 26:55what seems to be a blood like stain on
846. 26:58the carpet
847. 26:58so then they look around and they see
848. 27:00that there is blood
849. 27:02everywhere in travis's room travis's
850. 27:05roommate
851. 27:06goes further into the room and that's
852. 27:08when he finds travis
853. 27:09naked and in the fetal position in the
854. 27:11stand-up shower of his ensuite bathroom
855. 27:14so mimi she didn't want to go into the
856. 27:16room she
857. 27:17saw the blood stain and that was enough
858. 27:19for her so she stepped outside and she
859. 27:20calls the police
860. 27:21immediately so investigators they go out
861. 27:24to the crime scene right
862. 27:25and they're asking all the friends like
863. 27:27who do you think could have done
864. 27:28something so awful all of them were just
865. 27:31quick to say
866. 27:32jody jody arias look into her stalker
867. 27:35ex-girlfriend
868. 27:36she did it inside travis's room
869. 27:39investigators were looking for
870. 27:40dna fingerprints hair anything that
871. 27:43could get to the bottom of this horrible
872. 27:44crime now based off of the crime scene
873. 27:47detectives knew that this was a personal
874. 27:49attack they saw that travis
875. 27:51he must have really fought hard and
876. 27:54fought
877. 27:55back and it was just an all-around
878. 27:56gruesome scene
879. 27:58with blood smears down the hallway on
880. 28:00the walls
881. 28:01bathroom covered it was bad
882. 28:05so travis he was stabbed a total of 27

884. 28:0927 times his throat was cut

889. 28:21it was determined that travis alexander
890. 28:23was murdered on june 4th

892. 28:28knew that it was jody they didn't
893. 28:30technically have proof yet
894. 28:32so they had to carry on and planned a
895. 28:34funeral for travis with all of his
896. 28:36friends and family
897. 28:37and somehow jody got word where it was
898. 28:40when it was taken place
899. 28:42and this ballsy ass woman went to the
900. 28:45funeral
901. 28:47she went to the that's a special kind of
902. 28:49[ __ ] up
903. 28:50jody jody no someone needs to tell her
904. 28:53no once in a while so around this time
905. 28:56jody had called the station herself
906. 28:58asking to speak with detectives about
907. 28:59the case now she calls them right she's
908. 29:02like hey i just wanna like talk about
909. 29:03the case
910. 29:03and then they're like okay someone will
911. 29:05get get in touch with you click
912. 29:07so she was a little irritated because
913. 29:09her call wasn't being returned so she
914. 29:11calls again
915. 29:12she's like hello yeah um i have some
916. 29:14information that you might want
917. 29:16finally she gets through and she speaks
918. 29:17to somebody she tells this person the
919. 29:19detective that she no longer lived there
920. 29:21in mesa arizona and she moved to
921. 29:23northern california but wanted to be of
922. 29:25any assistance she could be
923. 29:27she told the detective the last time
924. 29:28they spoke was on tuesday
925. 29:30she ended up having a 41 minute
926. 29:32conversation with the detective about
927. 29:34everything
928. 29:35and also just nothing one thing stood
929. 29:37out to the detective
930. 29:38was the fact that jody was telling him
931. 29:42that travis had been getting fit for his
932. 29:44trip to cancun
933. 29:45so there's just no way that someone like
934. 29:47her could overpower him
935. 29:50and most likely was two people who took
936. 29:52him down
937. 29:53this is what she told the detective so
938. 29:54the detective's thinking
939. 29:56that's kind of like a weird comment to
940. 29:58make but okay so at the crime scene
941. 30:00there was a bloody handprint left on the
942. 30:02wall
943. 30:03the blood was taken in it in hopes for
944. 30:05like a dna or a fingerprint match
945. 30:08also while searching around the crime
946. 30:10scene investigators came across
947. 30:12a small like spot of blood on the
948. 30:14washing machine so they look at the
949. 30:16washing machine like okay and they lift
950. 30:18it up
951. 30:18lift up the lid there was bed sheets but
952. 30:21most of all
953. 30:22there was a camera a black camera was
954. 30:25left in the washing machine
955. 30:27it had gone through the wash cycle with
956. 30:29bleach but the camera was taken in
957. 30:31in hopes to like find some kind of
958. 30:32information the camera's memory card had
959. 30:35been erased
960. 30:36and the person who deleted them took
961. 30:38five steps to delete these pictures
962. 30:40just proving that no accidents were made
963. 30:43if you have to take five steps you know
964. 30:45what you are doing
965. 30:47do you get what i'm saying that's what
966. 30:48they're thinking anyways
967. 30:50on june 19th the memory card from the
968. 30:53camera was recovered and the first
969. 30:55picture that came up was a naked picture
970. 30:59of jody at travis's house
971. 31:02but get this get this it had a time
972. 31:05stamp on the photos yeah jody
973. 31:08hey bame time stamp pay attention
974. 31:12time stamp on the photos it said june
975. 31:154th aka the night of the murder okay
976. 31:19salt
977. 31:20we got it hold on cuz get this because
978. 31:22it gets worse
979. 31:23so they keep looking through the
980. 31:24pictures the next set of pictures were
981. 31:27travis naked in bed then possibly
982. 31:30to kind of get him in a vulnerable
983. 31:32position jody
984. 31:33seemed to have gotten travis in the
985. 31:35shower and began taking more
986. 31:36pictures of him so a photo was taken at
987. 31:395 30 p.m
988. 31:40travis in the shower water coming down
989. 31:43and he's looking directly into the
990. 31:45camera like ooh
991. 31:46and it's believed that this is the last
992. 31:49photo of him
993. 31:50alive because the following pictures
994. 31:52were
995. 31:53photos of what seemed to be the murder
996. 31:57yeah the camera kept snapping catching
997. 31:59travis on the ground
998. 32:01blood coming from his head with
999. 32:02someone's leg in the picture you see
1000. 32:05what
1001. 32:05looked like happened she took a picture
1002. 32:07of him in the shower and then the next
1003. 32:09couple
1004. 32:09shots are like the camera falling like
1005. 32:11it maybe got knocked out of her hand it
1006. 32:14ends up on the ground and it's just
1007. 32:15taking pictures
1008. 32:16so you can't technically see jody like
1009. 32:19killing travis but the time stamps
1010. 32:22like it's all lining up it seemed that
1011. 32:25while travis was in the shower
1012. 32:26jody begin her attack he tried to get
1013. 32:29away when she cut his neck dragged him
1014. 32:31back into the bathroom where she shot
1015. 32:33him in the head and then put him in the
1016. 32:35shower and rinsed off his body
1017. 32:37she then deleted the pictures so she
1018. 32:40thought you know and then
1019. 32:41took all the bedding and the camera and
1020. 32:43then put them
1021. 32:44in the washer now it's believed that
1022. 32:46jody just simply forgot to grab the
1023. 32:48camera and she didn't mean to wash it
1024. 32:51something that wasn't recovered from the
1025. 32:52camera was a sex tape that they had
1026. 32:55also made i don't even know if it
1027. 32:58really exists or not but like jody had
1028. 32:59to ask the investigators later on
1029. 33:01trying to like gauge how much they knew
1030. 33:04when forming her story she's like did
1031. 33:06you guys find the sex tape and then when
1032. 33:08they said no she was like okay they
1033. 33:09didn't find the camera
1034. 33:11police go out to jody's grandparents
1035. 33:13house where she's
1036. 33:15living so when they go out there it's
1037. 33:17july 15th and they're there to make an
1038. 33:19arrest
1039. 33:19the police connected the dots that the
1040. 33:21gun used to shoot travis was the same
1041. 33:24caliber of jody's grandfather's gun that
1042. 33:26was stolen
1043. 33:28in that random burglary remember so
1044. 33:30while
1045. 33:31at home they discover a rental car that
1046. 33:34jody had packed with clothes
1047. 33:36two knives a nine millimeter
1048. 33:38semi-automatic
1049. 33:40handgun she had a bunch of condoms and
1050. 33:42she was also
1051. 33:43sporting her newly dyed brown hair no
1052. 33:46one knows where she planned on going
1053. 33:48exactly with all this stuff
1054. 33:50i would put money on the new boyfriend's
1055. 33:51place so they bring her in for
1056. 33:53interrogation
1057. 33:54and when bringing her in she's
1058. 33:56handcuffed and jody was all smiles and
1059. 33:58they asked if she had anything to do
1060. 34:00with it and she kept denying denying
1061. 34:01denying eventually though
1062. 34:03the detective busts out those photos
1063. 34:05that were retrieved from the camera
1064. 34:07and they asked or he asks is this you
1065. 34:09and jody looks at this photo of herself
1066. 34:12and says well it looks like me
1067. 34:15it's clearly a photo of her she's butt
1068. 34:17ass naked he's showing her this picture
1069. 34:20she looks like me jody said that she did
1070. 34:23indeed go to utah and when they checked
1071. 34:24with ryan the guy that she was supposed
1072. 34:27to meet
1073. 34:27he said that she did come but she didn't
1074. 34:31arrive
1075. 34:31until june 5th a day later than they had
1076. 34:34originally planned
1077. 34:35he mentioned nothing was out of the
1078. 34:37ordinary jody was all
1079. 34:38happy and seemed like she just she
1080. 34:40didn't just murder someone you know
1081. 34:42she's just
1082. 34:43excited to be there could you imagine a
1083. 34:45date comes over
1084. 34:46you find out that they were just
1085. 34:48literally murdered some
1086. 34:50so when jody was being interrogated she
1087. 34:52maintained her innocence saying quote if
1088. 34:55i killed travis i would
1089. 34:56beg for the death penalty i don't know
1090. 34:58like why she felt that was helping her
1091. 35:00cause but she said that okay
1092. 35:02the detective tells jody that they found
1093. 35:03a bloody handprint on the wall
1094. 35:05the handprint wasn't jody's but after
1095. 35:08testing the dna
1096. 35:09it came back as travis and jody's
1097. 35:12blood so her blood was mixed in with
1098. 35:15travis's blood and then there was a
1099. 35:17handprint on the wall
1100. 35:18which was travis's handprint so the
1101. 35:20detective is asking her like you know
1102. 35:22how how would this happen then and
1103. 35:24jody's excuse was that her dna was
1104. 35:26already there in the room
1105. 35:27that's why so finally he tells jody look
1106. 35:30it's game over you are the one in the
1107. 35:32photos and your dna is in the bedroom
1108. 35:35all signs point to you jody's first
1109. 35:39question or response to that was to ask
1110. 35:41if she could clean up before she was
1111. 35:43booked she wanted to put on some makeup
1112. 35:45before taking her booking photo
1113. 35:47while waiting in the interrogation room
1114. 35:49some of you may remember this
1115. 35:51that's when jody was doing handstands
1116. 35:53she's alone she's doing handstands in
1117. 35:55the room she's singing
1118. 35:56songs and talking to herself it's very
1119. 35:59unusual for someone being booked for
1120. 36:02murder
1121. 36:03but jody said that you know she was in
1122. 36:04the room for hours upon
1123. 36:06hours she was bored she's innocent she
1124. 36:09didn't kill anyone
1125. 36:10so why can't she do handstands and sing

1127. 36:13she's like you guys are being so mean to

1140. 36:35in jail the next day she comes back and
1141. 36:37she has a brand new story this time jody
1142. 36:39wanted to tell the truth
1143. 36:40she said that she was at travis's house
1144. 36:43when two people this is according to her
1145. 36:45she said two people dressed as ninjas
1146. 36:48and all black and ski masks came
1147. 36:50busting into the door at night she said
1148. 36:52that these people were trying to
1149. 36:53assassinate
1150. 36:54travis she wasn't sure why but she knew
1151. 36:57that they were
1152. 36:58after travis ninjas
1153. 37:01jody said she was hit in the head and
1154. 37:03then passed out when she woke up she saw
1155. 37:06them in ski masks and heard travis
1156. 37:08yelling for her to go get help
1157. 37:09the attackers had gone through jody's
1158. 37:12purse so they knew who she was
1159. 37:13her address her parents address etc she
1160. 37:17said she fought off one of the ninjas
1161. 37:19who was a woman and was able to get away
1162. 37:22because they
1163. 37:22were really there to kill travis and not
1164. 37:24her okay
1165. 37:25so she she gets away she said so the
1166. 37:28detective's asking okay well why don't
1167. 37:30you call 9-1-1 then and she said
1168. 37:32because my phone was dead she didn't
1169. 37:33want to call 9-1-1 in general because
1170. 37:36these ninjas or these whoever these
1171. 37:37people were they knew where she lived
1172. 37:39and where her family were and she was
1173. 37:41afraid that they would kill her so that
1174. 37:42was her new story
1175. 37:44okay ninjas the public became obsessed
1176. 37:47i mean this was a story with lots of sex
1177. 37:50a good looking couple
1178. 37:51people oh murder sorry people were
1179. 37:53heavily heavily interested in this
1180. 37:55when her trial began there were many
1181. 37:57people trying to get into the courtroom
1182. 37:59and many people just waiting outside
1183. 38:01until it was over so
1184. 38:02when jodie showed up for trial she now
1185. 38:05had her
1186. 38:06natural hair she was dressed in all
1187. 38:08frumpy clothes and she had glasses on
1188. 38:10many thought that this was a plan to
1189. 38:12come off as innocent like she couldn't

1222. 39:07she filled up two gas cans for her trip

1224. 39:11to utah now this was weird because
1225. 39:13there's plenty of gas stations
1226. 39:15everywhere they were just trying to
1227. 39:16prove that this was premeditated she
1228. 39:19didn't want to stop for gas
1229. 39:20she didn't want to get caught on camera
1230. 39:22somewhere jody then turned off her cell
1231. 39:24phone so she couldn't have been tracked
1232. 39:26once she got to travis house not sure
1233. 39:28what happened once she got there
1234. 39:30but at some point he let her in they
1235. 39:32took sexy naked photos
1236. 39:34and then travis gets in the shower where
1237. 39:36jody's taking more photos perhaps

1253. 40:09hallway and then towards the end of the
1254. 40:11hallway he falls to the ground
1255. 40:13and it's believed this is where jody
1256. 40:15cuts his neck
1257. 40:16drags him back into the bathroom and
1258. 40:18then she shoots him
1259. 40:20places him back into the shower to rinse
1260. 40:22him off jody cleans up
1261. 40:24she puts the bedding and the camera in
1262. 40:26the washer and then leaves to go to utah
1263. 40:28turning her phone back on once she gets
1264. 40:30to the main highway and pretty far from
1265. 40:32the trap
1266. 40:33from travis's house she then calls
1267. 40:35travis's phone
1268. 40:36texts and emails him to make it seem
1269. 40:39like they had plans to meet in the
1270. 40:41future
1271. 40:42and that she's out driving so during
1272. 40:44trial
1273. 40:45jody then takes the stand and once again
1274. 40:48changes her story this time though she
1275. 40:51does the worst of the worst

1289. 41:17true this is what was presented in
1290. 41:19court you get it okay so she's saying
1291. 41:22like you see he was a good mormon man
1292. 41:24but i have all these emails myspace
1293. 41:27messages and voicemails that prove
1294. 41:29he wasn't this religious man like
1295. 41:30everyone thought he was
1296. 41:32everyone thought he was this good mormon
1297. 41:34guy but behind the scenes
1298. 41:36we were having sex i have all of the
1299. 41:38voicemails because she recorded a lot of
1300. 41:40them
1301. 41:41just tried to show like see nobody knew
1302. 41:43who he really was
1303. 41:44therefore nobody knew that he was
1304. 41:46abusing me there was one phone
1305. 41:48conversation she had
1306. 41:50saved where travis told jody that he
1307. 41:52wanted to tie her up to a tree
1308. 41:54and then they use this in court in hopes
1309. 41:56to prove that he was indeed like the
1310. 41:58crazy
1311. 41:59aggressive one mind you on this phone
1312. 42:01conversation
1313. 42:02they were uh having like phone sex and
1314. 42:05he's like i want to tie you to a tree
1315. 42:06which is like
1316. 42:07okay you know i'm not here to judge have
1317. 42:09your tree fun
1318. 42:11yeah they tried to flip it which is just
1319. 42:13it's sickening she said that the day of
1320. 42:15the murder
1321. 42:16she walked into the room wait let me
1322. 42:19just tell you
1323. 42:19this is upsetting she walked into the
1324. 42:22room the day of the murder and caught
1325. 42:24travis pleasuring himself and while he
1326. 42:26was pleasuring himself he was looking at
1327. 42:28a photo then she said she went she
1328. 42:30looked closer at the photo
1329. 42:31and she realized that it was a photo of
1330. 42:34a little boy
1331. 42:35she said that travis got into the shower
1332. 42:37and she was taking photos of him then
1333. 42:39travis got
1334. 42:40super mad at her dropped the camera
1335. 42:42which led to those accidental photos of
1336. 42:44the murder he then tried to attack her
1337. 42:46but was able to grab a knife stab him in
1338. 42:49the back
1339. 42:50and then while he was down she ran to
1340. 42:52the closet because that's where he kept
1341. 42:54his
1342. 42:55his spare gun not spare gun his gun so
1343. 42:57she knew it was there she goes and she
1344. 42:59grabs it
1345. 42:59jody said that she blacked out okay she
1346. 43:02blacked out she blacked out she doesn't
1347. 43:04remember shooting him
1348. 43:05dragging him cutting his neck nah she
1349. 43:07doesn't remember any of that the next
1350. 43:09thing that she remembered
1351. 43:10was driving through the desert so jody's
1352. 43:13new defense was that travis was beating
1353. 43:15her and that he was a pedophile
1354. 43:17like the lowest of low it's so upsetting
1355. 43:19it's so oh
1356. 43:20it's stories like this that discredit a
1357. 43:23lot of women who are being abused
1358. 43:25i just wanna punch her in the face that
1359. 43:27was her defense he's a pedophile now
1360. 43:29changing her stories just like last week
1361. 43:30casey anthony flip-flopping
1362. 43:32flip-flopping everywhere so during
1363. 43:34sentencing jody was found guilty
1364. 43:36and the crowd inside and outside the
1365. 43:39court cheered well inside the court it
1366. 43:41was a
1367. 43:41it was like little mumbles but outside
1368. 43:43the court people were just thrilled
1369. 43:45so following is the day of sentencing so
1370. 43:48jody shows up
1371. 43:49this is another like oh my i can't
1372. 43:51believe she did this during
1373. 43:52her sentencing jody shows up with the
1374. 43:55t-shirt
1375. 43:56white t-shirt purple writing it says
1376. 43:58survivor on it
1377. 44:00survivor on it okay a total slap
1378. 44:03in the face to travis's family who's
1379. 44:06mind you like right behind her and the
1380. 44:08the pews are those called pews in the
1381. 44:10seats
1382. 44:11she goes on tells the judge that she had
1383. 44:14this shirt made to show
1384. 44:15everyone that she was a survivor of
1385. 44:18domestic abuse
1386. 44:19she's holding it up this is to prove
1387. 44:22that i am a survivor of domestic abuse
1388. 44:26and i will
1389. 44:26always remember to just stay strong
1390. 44:30it's just so [ __ ] up i could not
1391. 44:32believe that
1392. 44:33i i was like what i don't remember what
1393. 44:35oh my
1394. 44:36i told you she's a special kind of
1395. 44:39[ __ ] up
1396. 44:40anyway so she's like i'm a survivor um
1397. 44:42so the jurors
1398. 44:43they couldn't come up with a sentencing
1399. 44:44for jody it ends up leading to a
1400. 44:46mistrial
1401. 44:47yeah so a whole second sentencing trial
1402. 44:51went through and it ended
1403. 44:52in 2015 with another jury deadlock
1404. 44:55in the end though jody was convicted of
1405. 44:58first-degree murder
1406. 44:59on may 8 2013 and was sentenced
1407. 45:02by the judge to life in prison without
1408. 45:05the possibility of parole now jody tried
1409. 45:07to appeal
1410. 45:08and this wasn't even longer march 24th
1411. 45:112020
1412. 45:12yeah she's trying to appeal i'm a
1413. 45:14survivor but the court upheld jody's
1414. 45:16first degree murder conviction
1415. 45:18and life prison sentence and that my
1416. 45:21friends
1417. 45:22is the awful story about jodi arias now
1418. 45:25it's so interesting i've watched so many
1419. 45:26interviews with her and stuff
1420. 45:28she's still denied tonight tonight girl
1421. 45:30get a grip
1422. 45:32get a grip jody had moved around to a
1423. 45:35couple different prisons i believe now
1424. 45:37they don't even want to stay where she's
1425. 45:38at
1426. 45:39i didn't really care to look but i did
1427. 45:41see that she moved around a couple times
1428. 45:43she had a bunch of fans
1429. 45:44a lot of men were like let me get in on
1430. 45:46this come on you guys
1431. 45:48what are you going after her for there's
1432. 45:49lots of other women you don't need her
1433. 45:51leave her alone she needs to rot she
1434. 45:53needs to think about what she did
1435. 45:55leave her alone she used to think about
1436. 45:57it i think that she
1437. 45:58just like casey anthony i think she had
1438. 46:01been lying for so long that she actually
1439. 46:03believes her own lies
1440. 46:04rest in peace to travis he seemed to
1441. 46:07live
1442. 46:07such a rough not a rough life but he
1443. 46:10turned it around
1444. 46:10and was like doing he was a motivational
1445. 46:12speaker and trying to spread
1446. 46:14positivity he just seemed like a good
