Full transcript
- 0:00in this video we're going to take a look
- 0:01at the logi poop icon Keys now this
- 0:03actually Builds on the logi poop Keys
- 0:06which is a mechanical keyboard but with
- 0:08this one you get laptop like keys so
- 0:10very low profile typing experience while
- 0:12still giving you all of logitech's great
- 0:14customization that they offer through
- 0:15the logi options Plus app you can either
- 0:18get this as just a keyboard or you can
- 0:19also get it in a combo that includes the
- 0:21pop Mouse which this pop Mouse is the
- 0:23same as the old pop Mouse but the pop
- 0:25icon Keys has the exact same layout as
- 0:28the pop mechanical keyboard but instead
- 0:30of mechanical switches it just has low
- 0:32profile laptop like switches on it but
- 0:34it still gives you several customizable
- 0:36buttons on the side of it so in this
- 0:37video we're going to talk about all the
- 0:39features that this keyboard has when you
- 0:40should choose to buy it or maybe a
- 0:42different Logitech keyboard as well the
- 0:44main claim to fame with the pop series
- 0:46is Logitech has several fun color combos
- 0:48that you can buy if you want a bit more
- 0:50of a bright keyboard I just went with
- 0:52the black and white set because I'm
- 0:53boring but you can also get this in a
- 0:54couple of great color options as well
- 0:57and the colors will tend to go in and
- 0:58out of stock so you might have to do a
- 0:59little little bit of searching to find
- 1:00the color set that you want but this has
- 1:02all of logitech's great functionality
- 1:04including the ability to pair it with up
- 1:06to three devices so F1 F2 and F3 are
- 1:09reserved for the easy switch buttons so
- 1:11you can activate Bluetooth pairing mode
- 1:12by pressing and holding one of those
- 1:14buttons the light will start to Blink
- 1:16and then go pair it on your computer or
- 1:18your iPad or your phone or any other
- 1:20device and then to switch you just press
- 1:22the button for just a second and it'll
- 1:23switch and reconnect this one has a
- 1:26couple of different customizable buttons
- 1:28so you get the built-in shortcuts
- 1:29Logitech that gives you with F4 all the
- 1:31way through F12 and then there's also
- 1:33four buttons on the side there's the
- 1:35circle triangle square and star buttons
- 1:38which you can customize to do anything
- 1:40whether it's launching an app or app
- 1:42specific shortcuts or they're also
- 1:44building these is a great way to launch
- 1:46your AI programs as well so this is a
- 1:48great way you can speed up your workflow
- 1:50with those built-in buttons you can
- 1:51customize them using the Lodi options
- 1:53Plus app either on Windows or Mac OS but
- 1:56there's no customization allowed for the
- 1:58buttons on your phone or your iPad now
- 2:01another thing that they did on this
- 2:02keyboard that I really love that they
- 2:04didn't do on some of the others
- 2:05including the pop Keys is they added
- 2:07dedicated screen brightness buttons
- 2:09which is a feature I've been really
- 2:10wanting Logitech to have so the insert
- 2:13button and also the button to the left
- 2:14of the delete key are both for screen
- 2:17brightness which is just huge to have
- 2:19that available on the keyboard because
- 2:20typically you sacrifice F1 F2 and F3 to
- 2:23have that functionality another nice
- 2:25thing about this keyboard is it's great
- 2:27whether you're using it with Windows or
- 2:29Mac and it has all the buttons labeled
- 2:31for both Windows and Mac layout you can
- 2:33also change the layout using the logy
- 2:35options app as well this keyboard uses
- 2:38two AAA batteries and you get up to 36
- 2:40months of battery life on it so no USB
- 2:42recharging but 36 months of battery life
- 2:45is pretty hard to be also there's no
- 2:47backlighting on this keyboard too which
- 2:48is a feature that you have to go up to
- 2:50something like the MX Keys mini if you
- 2:52want to get in a Logitech keyboard this
- 2:54pop combo also includes the pop Mouse
- 2:57and this mouse gives you the ability to
- 2:58customize it with the app as well well
- 3:00it has a button in the middle of it and
- 3:01you can also customize what clicking the
- 3:03scroll wheel does I've always liked the
- 3:05pop Mouse it is a little bit small so
- 3:07it's not going to be the most
- 3:08comfortable Mouse to use for a long
- 3:09period of time but the score wheel feels
- 3:12really good on it and it also gets
- 3:13really long battery life with a single
- 3:15doublea battery and you can just pop the
- 3:17top of it off and the doublea battery is
- 3:19in there this set also is compatible
- 3:21with the logi bolt receiver but you
- 3:22don't get the bolt receiver in the box
- 3:24so if you want to use it with a USB
- 3:26wireless connection instead you're going
- 3:28to have to buy that separately here's a
- 3:29quick sound test of what this keyboard
- 3:31sounds like typing on
- 3:42it so overall it's a really quiet
- 3:44keyboard very comfortable and fast to
- 3:46type on I like the feel of the keys
- 3:48they're pretty smooth but it's not quite
- 3:50as nice of a typing feel as the MX Keys
- 3:52mini what I like about the MX Keys mini
- 3:54is it just has a little bit of a divot
- 3:55in it for your finger to go in so that
- 3:57just kind of keeps you centered around
- 3:59the keyboard the pop icon Keys is the
- 4:01kind of keyboard that I think anyone can
- 4:03use whether you're a pro or you're just
- 4:05doing basic work it's going to be a
- 4:06really great option because the
- 4:08customization of all the buttons and
- 4:09it's also just really compact quiet and
- 4:12easy to type on as well this does have a
- 4:14better feel to it than the pebble keys
- 4:16does but I still prefer the MX Keys mini
- 4:19a little bit more to this but I've been
- 4:20using this keyboard for a few weeks now
- 4:22and I haven't felt the need to get my MX
- 4:25Keys mini back out and all the features
- 4:26that this has stack up really well with
- 4:28the MX Keys Mini the pop icon Keys goes
- 4:31for about $50 typically you can get it
- 4:34in the combo version with the mouse for
- 4:35$70 which is really hard to be the MX
- 4:38Keys mini typically goes for about $100
- 4:40so this is going to be about half the
- 4:42price and I think for most people this
- 4:44is going to be more than fine for you if
- 4:46you compare it to the pop Keys
- 4:47mechanical keyboard the pop Keys
- 4:49mechanical keyboard is more expensive
- 4:50it's also a louder keyboard as well
- 4:52because of the mechanical keyboard and
- 4:54it just looks a little bit funkier as
- 4:56well the pop mechanical keyboard has the
- 4:58circular Keys it almost gives you a
- 4:59typewriter look and it has Emoji buttons
- 5:01for the side this one you do have the
- 5:03ability to reprogram what those white
- 5:05buttons are on the side but they're all
- 5:07just going to be normal looking keys for
- 5:09you so it just gives you a more low
- 5:11profile look to the keyboard while still
- 5:12giving you the ability to pick out one
- 5:14of the fun colors that Logitech has to
- 5:17offer this keyboard in there's really
- 5:18just three reasons I would pick the MX
- 5:20Keys mini over this one and that would
- 5:21be USBC recharging also the backlight
- 5:24and if you just want to have a little
- 5:26bit better feeling keyboard but I think
- 5:28if you just go straight for this key
- 5:29keyboard you're really not going to feel
- 5:31like this one is any worse than the MX
- 5:32Keys mini in the past I've also
- 5:34recommended the pebble keys but I
- 5:36definitely would recommend just spend a
- 5:38little bit more money and buy this pop
- 5:39icon because it gives you more
- 5:41customizable buttons and the angle of
- 5:43typing on this to me is a little bit
- 5:45more comfortable than the pebble keys so
- 5:47I really like the keyboard I think this
- 5:48keyboard is just as good as any other
- 5:50Logitech keyboard I have tested the
- 5:52mouse is just okay it's going to get the
- 5:54job done for you if you don't use it all
- 5:55day long or if you're not a power user
- 5:58but if you're having any issues with
- 5:59risk Comfort or if you're really using
- 6:01it for a long period of time I recommend
- 6:03the mxm 3s the MX anywhere 3s I do like
- 6:07the Apple Magic Mouse because you get
- 6:09the gestures on the top of it the pop
- 6:11Mouse does get the job done but if
- 6:12you're using it for hours and hours on
- 6:14in you are going to want a little bit
- 6:15more comfortable of a mouse than this
- 6:17one so for most people I would recommend
- 6:18just get the pop icon Keys get a nicer
- 6:21Mouse to pair with it and you'll really
- 6:22appreciate this keyboard but overall I
- 6:25highly recommend the pop icon set for
- 6:27anyone who's looking for a great
- 6:28keyboard with quiet volume customization
- 6:31and if you want to add a little bit of
- 6:33personality by choosing your preferred
- 6:34color combo if you're interested in
- 6:36buying the pop icon keys or the pop icon
- 6:38combo I do have links to buy in the
- 6:40description below also I have links for
- 6:42some of my other favorite Logitech
- 6:43keyboard em Mouse options in the
- 6:45description below feel free to leave a
- 6:47comment down below ask any questions you
- 6:48might have about this setup
