Full transcript
- 0:00in this video we're going to compare the
- 0:01Logitech MX Keys mini and the MX Keys s
- 0:05these are two of logitech's Flagship MX
- 0:08keyboards that both work really well on
- 0:10Windows and Mac computers the MX Keys
- 0:12mini is a compact keyboard and the MX
- 0:14Keys s is a full siiz keyboard that
- 0:16gives you a full number pad and a couple
- 0:18extra buttons on the side the MX Keys s
- 0:21and the MX Keys mini are both really
- 0:23easy to type on I find them both to be
- 0:25really comfortable to use as a Mac User
- 0:27the keys have a good amount of travel
- 0:29without being cumbersome and they're
- 0:30really comfortable with a small divot in
- 0:32each of them for holding your fingers
- 0:34the main difference is in the function
- 0:36keys and the number pad and the extra
- 0:39buttons that you get on the MX Keys s
- 0:41versus going for the smaller MX Keys
- 0:43mini they offer a really similar Keys
- 0:46layout but the mini has a function key
- 0:48on the left side while the full size has
- 0:51the function key on the right size the
- 0:53function control command and option
- 0:55buttons are also a little bit bigger on
- 0:57the full-size keyboard because the
- 0:58arrows are moved over the MX Keys mini
- 1:01has small Arrow buttons and the MX Keys
- 1:03s has fullsize Arrow buttons as well the
- 1:06function buttons that Logitech gives you
- 1:08on both of these keyboards are similar
- 1:10but they're moved over slightly on the
- 1:11MX Keys s and on the MX Keys mini your
- 1:14device pairing buttons are F1 F2 and F3
- 1:18whereas on the MX Keys s you get
- 1:20dedicated device pairing buttons
- 1:21Logitech lets you reprogram all the
- 1:23different function keys on the MX Keys s
- 1:26but on the MX Keys mini you can only
- 1:28reprogram F4 through f 12 so you lose a
- 1:31little bit of customization on that
- 1:32keyboard another big difference between
- 1:34the MX Keys s and mini is that you get a
- 1:37calculator button the screenshot button
- 1:39is over on the top right area you also
- 1:41get a lookup button and you get the
- 1:43extra buttons like insert home page up
- 1:45down delete and end on the MX Keys s
- 1:48that are missing from the MX Keys mini
- 1:50so the overall feel and typing on both
- 1:52of these keyboards is pretty much
- 1:54identical and the battery life is the
- 1:56same as well there's a lot of similar
- 1:58overlap in these devices and I'd
- 2:00encourage you to watch my reviews on the
- 2:01MX Keys mini and the MX Keys s where I
- 2:04reviewed them separately because I go
- 2:06into greater detail about each of these
- 2:07keyboards I think choosing which of
- 2:09these keyboards really comes down to if
- 2:11you want the fullsize arrow keys and if
- 2:14you want the fulls sizee number pad as
- 2:16well as if you want to have those
- 2:17dedicated device changing buttons for me
- 2:20I do a lot of video editing and photo
- 2:21editing so being able to quickly get
- 2:23from my keyboard over on my mouse is
- 2:25important so I prefer the MX Keys mini
- 2:28over the MX Keys s just because I don't
- 2:30really need the number keys that much
- 2:32but if you care more about the number
- 2:33keys and if you want to customize your
- 2:35keyboard more and have more of those
- 2:36function buttons available to customize
- 2:38with I would recommend you go ahead and
- 2:40just buy the MX Keys s because you get
- 2:43greater customization the MX Keys s is
- 2:46available in graphite silver and black
- 2:48and the MX Keys mini is available in
- 2:51Black graphite silver and rows so you do
- 2:54get more color options with the mini as
- 2:56well the MX Keys mini usually goes for
- 2:58around $100 in the MX XX Keys s goes for
- 3:01$110 so the price is pretty comparable
- 3:03on both of these but these are both
- 3:05great keyboards and I don't think you're
- 3:06going to be disappointed in the typing
- 3:08experience on either of them you really
- 3:10just need to ask yourself if you want
- 3:12that extra customization or if you want
- 3:14that compact tight-knit feel that the MX
- 3:17Keys mini provides giving everything a
- 3:19little bit closer reach for you when
- 3:21you're using the keyboard if you're
- 3:22interested in buying either these
- 3:24keyboards I have links for both of these
- 3:25in the description below and also if
- 3:27you're interested in learning more about
- 3:29some of the other Logitech MX keyboards
- 3:31and mouses I'm going to be putting out a
- 3:33lot more video reviews of all those
- 3:35different products too so subscribe to
- 3:37my channel and stick around for more

- 3:49you're wondering and if you think I
- 3:51missed any of the features of these
- 3:52keyboards check out my full length
- 3:54review of both the MX Keys mini and the
- 3:56MX Keys s so you can see what both of
- 3:58these keyboards have to offer offer
