  5. 0:10And as I just mentioned, things that you enjoy and some of the things that I don't
  6. 0:16look forward to.
  7. 0:17Emily: Yeah. So a ceramic artist is someone who makes things out of clay for artistic

  9. 0:26[It] could be, uh, sculptural, or decorative, [or] functional.
  10. 0:29There's tons of different things.
  11. 0:31I like to kind of merge sculptural, and functional, and decorative work all in one.

  24. 1:12putting a nice glaze, which is that glossy surface onto it,
  25. 1:16Randall: Right.
  26. 1:18Emily: Probably my least favorite thing to do would be to put handles on mugs.
  27. 1:22It's not a very fun process for me.
  28. 1:25I find it to be rather tedious.
  29. 1:28Randall: And what you showed us is what is called a tumbler.
  30. 1:31Is that correct?
  31. 1:32Emily: That's correct.
  32. 1:33Randall: Well, thank you for sharing that.
  33. 1:35It looks beautiful and I'm sure that it takes a lot of time.
  34. 1:39For example, something like that.
  35. 1:40How long does it take to carve a piece like that?
  36. 1:43Emily: That one took about five hours.
  37. 1:45Randall: Wow. All right.
  38. 1:46Well, thank you very much for sharing your art with us.
  39. 1:49Emily: Thank you.
