Full transcript
- 0:05Alhamdulillah.
- 0:12So then to continue when Miff says the
- 0:14author says as for currency it is of two
- 0:17types gold and silver and there are five
- 0:20conditions for it to be obligatory
- 0:24and we talked about silver and gold
- 0:27and the evidence and there is a
- 0:29unanimous agreement that on silver and
- 0:32gold there is zakat mandatorily.
- 0:34He he started by saying Islam this the
- 0:37first condition Islam and we just talked
- 0:39about it freedom we just talked about it
- 0:42that's why I wish that he started with
- 0:44that with the conditions for a zakat not
- 0:48for each yeah any type of wealth he said
- 0:51complete ownership and we just talked
- 0:52about it like in one of the issues
- 0:54related to this
- 0:57yeah when we say complete ownership
- 1:01we can talk about debt
- 1:04debt debt
- 1:06and debt is either that you are indebted
- 1:08to someone else or someone else is
- 1:10indebted to you. Someone else you owe
- 1:13someone else or someone else owes to
- 1:15you. Right?
- 1:18And who can define to me a meaning of
- 1:21debt? This is essential. You cannot
- 1:23study without knowing the proper meaning
- 1:26of debt.
- 1:28>> Yes.
- 1:31your livestock.
- 1:35>> What is the definition of debt? I'm
- 1:38going say give me some examples of that.
- 1:42A rent if some if
- 1:46if you are waiting for a person to pay
- 1:48you
- 1:50rent is that debt.
- 1:53>> It is a debt. It is a debt. A debt is
- 1:57not a loan only. A lot of you they know
- 2:02debt as only knowing
- 2:05if you have a car accident
- 2:08and someone
- 2:10now owes you to fix the damage. Okay. To
- 2:13repair the damage, he is what? He's in
- 2:16debt.
- 2:18If you have a delayed a delay payment,
- 2:22delay payment. You have a sale and you
- 2:24have a delay payment. What do we call
- 2:26this?
- 2:27>> Debt. Let's suppose you have
- 2:33you know delayed dowy
- 2:36it is that so then what is that anything
- 2:41understand this this is crucial this is
- 2:43important for you in multiple chapters
- 2:45in
- 2:48are you with us
- 2:50anything anything
- 2:54established in your liability this is
- 2:58called
- 2:59debt and this debt is either to be to
- 3:02Allah or to his creation.
- 3:07If you say what is the definition of
- 3:09liability? How do I know that? What is
- 3:13liability? This is important.
- 3:16What is ilc
- 3:19limited
- 3:22liability
- 3:24company?
- 3:25What is liability? I am liable. I'm
- 3:29liable. What is a dimma? A dimma? It's a
- 3:32character, a description, an attribute,
- 3:34an entity possesses by which it has the
- 3:38capacity to force and to be forced
- 3:45what we call liability juristically
- 3:48speaking in legalistic term.
- 3:50Okay. So then anytime there is a there
- 3:53is a any any time
- 3:57that your liability is busy anything
- 4:00that is established in your liability we
- 4:01would consider it debt it's going to be
- 4:04called that
- 4:08now
- 4:10if someone if someone is indebted to you
- 4:18are the creditor
- 4:21Do you have a complete ownership?
- 4:24You are the creditor.
- 4:27Whether it's in a form of a loan, damage
- 4:30need to be fixed, delayed payment,
- 4:32delayed diary, rent.
- 4:37Do you have a full full ownership
- 4:40complete ownership? Again, we need to
- 4:42what? Elaborate.
- 4:47If that person, okay, the D
- 4:51and whatever type of debt it is, if the
- 4:54D is willing and capable, willing and
- 4:59capable to pay back when it's due,
- 5:04then when you receive it, when you have
- 5:06it, you pay zaka on all the years past.
- 5:11Immah.
- 5:13If however
- 5:16that person is not willing or he is
- 5:19willing but he's not capable then you
- 5:21only pay zaka on it when
- 5:25>> once you get it for that year
- 5:29again there's a long discussion we're
- 5:32just g giving you the conclusion the
- 5:34conclusion of 500 pages
- 5:37okay discussion evidences and so on so
- 5:41forth
- 5:44One of the things that they are
- 5:46important for you here in the United
- 5:48States is retirement plans.
- 5:51Okay. Anybody here has retirement plans
- 5:53or not yet?
- 5:56>> Yeah. What is retirement? Look, in the
- 5:58United States, you are a bit different
- 6:00from the vast majority of countries
- 6:03around the world. Retirement plans here
- 6:06in the United States is not a right.
- 6:08It's what? Privilege.
- 6:11If you go to any other country, it goes
- 6:13without saying that you have retirement
- 6:15plans because it is your right to be
- 6:17provided from who? From the government.
- 6:19Here in the United States, you decided
- 6:22the 401k, IRA, these are you you choose.
- 6:27Okay.
- 6:29So
- 6:31the retirement plans when you have
- 6:32retirement plans, what what does it mean
- 6:35actually
- 6:37what you're doing?
- 6:39You're taking the company, taking your
- 6:42money, investing it in usually in the
- 6:44stock market. When you are 59, you're
- 6:49going to get it back. This is the the
- 6:50the the retirement age where you're
- 6:53going to get it back without penalties
- 6:55if you want it, right?
- 6:59Because you can withdraw anytime you
- 7:01want. Yes, there are there are penalties
- 7:03which which about 10% you're going to
- 7:05pay.
- 7:07We would call that type of wealth. Yeah.
- 7:10You have a a debt but you can get it
- 7:14where whatever you want. Yeah. Whenever
- 7:17you want it, you have you have
- 7:19ownership.
- 7:21You have full ownership. If you'd like
- 7:23with to withdraw the check would would
- 7:25reach you in about uh maybe you know
- 7:28four to five weeks. It's going to be in
- 7:30your uh in your mailbox,
- 7:33right?
- 7:35So therefore, you have full ownership of
- 7:37it. It's not the same in other
- 7:40countries. In other countries, you don't
- 7:42have to pay zakah
- 7:44because it's not yours. You can't have
- 7:46access to it whatsoever before the the
- 7:49age of retirement. Here in the United
- 7:51States, it is first optional. If you'd
- 7:54like to have it, you can do it. And at
- 7:57the same time, anytime you would like to
- 7:59withdraw to uh to withdraw to cash it
- 8:02out, you you can do it.
- 8:04So therefore here in the United States
- 8:06you have full ownership for the
- 8:08retirement plans for the the the most
- 8:12famous one is the 41k
- 8:18once we understand this reality
- 8:21then is your 410 401k
- 8:26absolutely
- 8:28it's absolutely a catapult
- 8:31the issue is how to pay a cattle on it.
- 8:35Okay, look without a lot of discussions
- 8:39and
- 8:42just apply just just we want you to
- 8:46understand what we're talking about.
- 8:49So what does it mean? It means that the
- 8:51company that the company is indebted to
- 8:54you
- 8:56indebted to you. Do they have the
- 8:58capacity? Are they willing to give it
- 9:00back to you? Absolutely. So then you
- 9:02have full full ownership how it's going
- 9:04to happen.
- 9:06The way that you're going to do it,
- 9:09you're going to take it
- 9:12and then
- 9:15you're going to get out the portion that
- 9:18is not collectible.
- 9:22There is a part of it. It's not going to
- 9:24be collectible. There is a part of it
- 9:26called collectible portion which is what
- 9:28you're going to get back. The other part
- 9:31or the other portion is not collectible
- 9:32in the sense that it's going to go for
- 9:34pay and it's going to go also for taxes.
- 9:39Okay? They call them deferred taxes and
- 9:43deferred penalties. These are subtracted
- 9:46because you won't collect them. So then
- 9:49what you're going to do, you're going to
- 9:51subtract
- 9:54the taxes,
- 9:56subtract the um the um
- 10:00the the
- 10:02penalties. Usually they vary, but
- 10:05usually they don't go beyond 10%.
- 10:08They don't go beyond 10%. Sometimes 2%,
- 10:103%. It depends. Hm.
- 10:14>> The the the penalty
- 10:16which fidelity or with fidelity or with
- 10:19what
- 10:20>> with my company
- 10:21>> man they are invested in what
- 10:23>> the stock market but they do matching
- 10:25companies do matching so basically
- 10:27>> 40%. So so so the penalty is 40% or they
- 10:32would include taxes. It seems to me they
- 10:34are counting taxes. I think it's 40% of
- 10:38it because they're taking away their
- 10:41matching
- 10:41>> I know and essentially now irrespective
- 10:44of what they're what they what what they
- 10:46are intending it for but are you going
- 10:48to pay other than the penalties when you
- 10:51withdraw any uh when you would uh
- 10:54withdraw uh earlier you're going to pay
- 10:57taxes. Okay. So then and the taxes
- 11:00usually about it depends on your
- 11:01bracket. So so it's going to be what?
- 11:06like what 20% 30% if if you are here in
- 11:09uh in Minnesota it's you got high taxes
- 11:12relatively
- 11:15anyways so then what you're going to do
- 11:19you're going to subtract
- 11:22the undeductibles
- 11:25the uncollectibles
- 11:27you're going to subtract
- 11:30taxes subtract
- 11:33the um um penalties
- 11:37and the remaining that remaining
- 11:42if you if if you if you don't like if
- 11:45you'd like to have Yi if you are
- 11:48meticulous you would pay it penny by the
- 11:53by the decimal
- 11:56then there is something called
- 11:59nonacatable
- 12:02assets in the companies you are
- 12:04investing in
- 12:07what
- 12:09Apple
- 12:11Tesla
- 12:13what you are investing in you are
- 12:15investing in the profit that they are
- 12:17profiting from their cars and so on so
- 12:19forth and whatever investments that they
- 12:21have and also they will give you the
- 12:24value of it the value of the Tesla
- 12:28company I mean the the stock the value
- 12:30of the stock of the stock the share of
- 12:33the Tesla company of Apple or whatever,
- 12:36they don't only give you the value of
- 12:38their profit. They also give you the
- 12:41value of
- 12:44their plans if they have plans. Offices,
- 12:49the value of
- 12:52their advertisements, whatever they give
- 12:54as an advertisement or as advertisable.
- 12:57Yeah. Essentially, they give you
- 12:59everything. They will give you whatever
- 13:01the cash they have. So then this
- 13:06some of them like offices
- 13:09offices whatever tables they have they
- 13:11have they would say that we have 5,000
- 13:14offices
- 13:17right and so on so forth these are not
- 13:19zakatable.
- 13:22So if you'd like to be meticulous and
- 13:23you and you don't like to pay on these,
- 13:26there's no problem of actually
- 13:27subtracting the nonsatable
- 13:30the nonsatable
- 13:32assets.
- 13:34How do you do it? If you know how to do
- 13:36it, you do it yourself. Especially if
- 13:37you don't have a mutual. If you have a
- 13:39mutual investment and you have a whole
- 13:41package in one stock,
- 13:46some people they they diversify their
- 13:47their an investment which is a a wise
- 13:51thing.
- 13:53The the the
- 13:56if you would like to have Yeah. And you
- 13:59you would like to pay to the penny. Yes,
- 14:01you are you're driven as it is. You're
- 14:04not even subtracting one penny, but you
- 14:06would like to pay it to the penny.
- 14:09exactly as it is.
- 14:11Then you take it to a professional. He
- 14:14will do the accounting.
- 14:17Okay? Because they will subtract the
- 14:19everything that is not zakarian. All
- 14:21their assets in the sheet there are
- 14:24there are assets that they are the the
- 14:28they call them the the the
- 14:30nonoperational assets. The
- 14:32nonoperational assets and then they have
- 14:34the operational assets. the operational
- 14:36assets these are nuns accountable.
- 14:40Okay. But the cash whatever cash they
- 14:43have whatever investments they have it's
- 14:46going to be added to the value and
- 14:48therefore it's going to be added to the
- 14:50shares that you you you own and then
- 14:53you're going to pay zaka and how to pay
- 14:55zaka on on a stocks this is a different
- 14:57a different ruling. Okay. So then again
- 15:02again if you want to pay the zakat if
- 15:07you want to pay the zakat on
- 15:10401k
- 15:12how do how do you do it?
- 15:16>> You
- 15:19take away taxes you subtract taxes you
- 15:22subtract penalties
- 15:24and whatever remaining
- 15:27you pays the cat on it. When do you pay
- 15:29the cut on it? The moment you have it,
- 15:32assess it.
- 15:34The moment you have the check,
- 15:37you pay zakat on it
- 15:38>> for for whatever years that you you you
- 15:42invested
- 15:46>> whatever you're investing and for
- 15:47example
- 15:49you are now 35 and you you you started
- 15:52putting it put it in the system
- 15:55since you are 25. Okay. So then for 10
- 16:00years what you're going to do you're
- 16:03going to subtract for each year the
- 16:04penalties
- 16:07and he had you withdrawn it
- 16:10and you're going to subtract the taxes
- 16:12because they are already taken and then
- 16:15for 10 years and then you got to pay
- 16:17zaka for the for these 10 years. So it
- 16:20would be the same for a pension in
- 16:22pensions like local government
- 16:24>> pension.
- 16:24>> Yeah. You can't withdraw
- 16:26>> you know if if you can't withdraw it
- 16:28whatsoever then there is no zap
- 16:30>> because you didn't have full ownership.
- 16:32>> What about until like the retirement
- 16:34>> even if you might die okay you might
- 16:37die. You might not be eligible at that
- 16:40time.
- 16:41You don't have complete ownership. You
- 16:43don't have full ownership. as opposed to
- 16:45this what I do say to you that if you
- 16:47are in the you see what is in the local
- 16:49government it is what is in the vast
- 16:51majority of countries around the world
- 16:54if you are in any country in the world
- 16:56almost
- 16:58you you it's guaranteed for you you have
- 17:00a retirement and here in the United
- 17:02States if you don't have a retirement of
- 17:03plans
- 17:05and then for whatever reason you end up
- 17:08not continuing then you're going to be
- 17:09homeless added to that to those people
- 17:12this is how it works
- 17:15leftovers.
- 17:18Yeah,
- 17:19this is how the system works.
- 17:25It's one
- 17:28big debate [clears throat] here amongst
- 17:30Americans about health care for all.
- 17:34Still debating it.
- 17:37Still debate. Should we have health care
- 17:40for all? Just that would when you want
- 17:43when you want to go to the hospital if
- 17:45you are in need you're going to be taken
- 17:47care of
- 17:49just by
- 17:51those who are benefiting from me any
- 17:54day. Now if a if a person is rich
- 17:59again I'm not talking from an Islamic
- 18:00perspective because this is a whole
- 18:02system altogether. I'm talking about the
- 18:05system the current system. Now for a
- 18:07person to be rich here in the United
- 18:09States. How to become rich? Can you
- 18:12function without without society? Who
- 18:14makes you rich?
- 18:16>> Society.
- 18:18Otherwise go to an island and work. Be
- 18:21rich there alone. Go in the middle of
- 18:23the desert and be rich. If you say I I
- 18:26earned it, okay? Go there. You don't
- 18:29have society and work.
- 18:31So then for you to be rich, you need
- 18:33those who would enrich you. Yes, you are
- 18:36smart, work hard, but that the the to be
- 18:39rich, you must provide for the society
- 18:41and they're going to be rich. Correct?
- 18:45Then why don't you give the society
- 18:46back?
- 18:48Give that society back. You only became
- 18:51rich because of us, because of the road
- 18:53workers who build the streets for your
- 18:56company to to and to function,
- 18:59right? those who worked they work hard
- 19:02in your company they work hard in other
- 19:04companies they facilitated competition
- 19:06so that the prices that they that they
- 19:07can manage and so on so forth there are
- 19:09endless factors that eventually led you
- 19:13to be rich
- 19:15you pay back
- 19:17this health care just we're going to get
- 19:200.0
- 19:231% of the rich we're going to tax them
- 19:26and take it just to give it to those
- 19:27people who helped you to be to be rich.
- 19:31The collective,
- 19:34why would the prices go up for your
- 19:38product? Because society want them so
- 19:41that the prices go up. So they benefited
- 19:44you.
- 19:46Again, this not from an Islamic
- 19:47perspective. From an Islamic
- 19:48perspective, we're going to change the
- 19:49system. The system is bad.
- 19:53Like in just going with that system, a
- 19:55person who is making a billion
- 19:58just you're going to get from him in
- 20:01total about $1,000 to give a person just
- 20:04to live
- 20:06just to have any basic
- 20:10visit every six months to a doctor just
- 20:12to make sure that we can pre
- 20:14preemptively make sure that he does not
- 20:16have diabetes.
- 20:18Just one visit for a doctor, we can know
- 20:20that he has a diabetes. Here in the
- 20:22United States, you can eventually you
- 20:25might be told that you have what?
- 20:28Diabetes. Cancer. That's why you have a
- 20:31lot of cancer. Why? Why have a lot of
- 20:32cancer? Because you won't find it in
- 20:34Germany.
- 20:36Because in Germany, every six months you
- 20:38are checked. You can just stop by and
- 20:40you're going to be checked from head to
- 20:41toe. Internal and external.
- 20:46That's why they live any longer. the
- 20:47life any expectancy the the ability of
- 20:50productivity you can see subhan all if
- 20:53American walks and a German walks you
- 20:55can see the difference
- 21:00and what I'm saying here is that the um
- 21:04the the the
- 21:07retirement plans
- 21:09here in the United States it's optional
- 21:12it's optional and it is also available
- 21:17anytime you'd like to withdraw. Yes,
- 21:18there are penalties and that's why we're
- 21:20going to take into consideration these
- 21:21penalties to be taken to be taken out.
- 21:25If you'd like to be more meticulous, you
- 21:27don't pay to the penny and it might make
- 21:29a huge difference actually. If you if
- 21:32you'd like to pay to the decimal,
- 21:36but you need to do more more accounting
- 21:39by by subtracting the nonzatable assets.
- 21:44Is that understood? Inshallah.
- 21:46And then the author says
- 21:49and the completion of one year and we
- 21:50just talked about it the completion of
- 21:52one year and there is a unanimous
- 21:54agreement regarding this ruling. We need
- 21:57one full loaner year while reaching the
- 22:01threshold.
- 22:02And he said, we actually skipped the
- 22:07or we missed and for silver and gold. As
- 22:12for gold according to the
- 22:16because for gold you need 20 dinars.
- 22:19What is it in the value of today or the
- 22:23yes in the amount of today? It's going
- 22:25to be equal to the value of
- 22:2985 grams.
- 22:3285 g of gold
- 22:37today.
- 22:39Now, Muhammad, just go get it up. See
- 22:42what is 85 grams of gold today is uh
- 22:47what's the value of it today?
- 22:51>> H
- 22:54yeah any one gram of go again pure gold.
- 22:57Okay. Make sure that it's the 99.9%.
- 23:00The 24 Yes.
- 23:02>> 11,985
- 23:05>> 11,500
- 23:07>> 11,900
- 23:08>> 11,900.
- 23:11Okay. 11,900.
- 23:13Yeah. Any almost 12,000 method? Okay.
- 23:1612,000. If you have in your bank account
- 23:19now 12,000
- 23:21the moment you reach 12,000 in your bank
- 23:23account, you started to to to count
- 23:28you started the year.
- 23:31Okay? If you have it now in your bank
- 23:33account 12,000, you you've got to make
- 23:36sure when you got it when you have the
- 23:3812,000 you might now you are in the year
- 23:41of of zak
- 23:44and then you don't go below you don't go
- 23:48below the 12,000 this 11,900
- 23:52okay
- 23:54one full year you don't go below
- 23:59as for silver it's going to be 585
- 24:05according to the most correct opinion.
- 24:06This is the conservative number. Some
- 24:08scholars they say it's actually 595
- 24:13around 600 like in the most correct
- 24:15opinion is is going to be 500
- 24:1885 grams
- 24:21>> grams grams they can't buy grams
- 24:25yah what is now what is today 885 grams
- 24:30of the the value of 885 grams of of
- 24:34silver.
- 24:38It seems to me she's accurate.
- 24:43>> 5852.
- 24:48>> It says 6,9,000
- 24:51because this is the difference between
- 24:53gold and silver.
- 24:54>> Silver
- 24:598
- 25:01500
- 25:02>> 585
- 25:04>> again again just we want to make sure
- 25:07>> because if you tell me this number I
- 25:09would believe it you know it's been a
- 25:11while that I didn't check but he would
- 25:12believe it because it fluctuates
- 25:14>> especially with oil now going up and
- 25:16down up and down oil and silver they are
- 25:20brothers
- 25:23>> it's a little bit different so today
- 25:26>> yeah yeah we need it today today
- 25:28>> today the pure is worth about 1,210
- 25:32for the 585. That's how much you say
- 25:35that it's worth.
- 25:36>> You see, it's a huge difference. So now
- 25:39we're going to calculate it according to
- 25:41what?
- 25:43>> Goal. Because this is going to be
- 25:45beneficial for who?
- 25:46>> To the poor.
- 25:49You understand?
- 25:51If they vary, if they vary today,
- 25:54because now we have
- 25:56now we it's
- 25:59silver and gold.
- 26:02If they vary in the value, we're going
- 26:04to go with the one that is more
- 26:07beneficial to the
- 26:08>> to the poor.
- 26:11>> So in this context, it's going to be
- 26:13silver or gold.
- 26:18Gold way much higher.
- 26:21>> Gold is way much higher.
- 26:23>> Okay.
- 26:25>> Why gold is high now?
- 26:28>> Oil
- 26:30because of oil.
- 26:33>> Do you understand?
- 26:35Now if you are a good investor, what do
- 26:37you do?
- 26:39>> H
- 26:40>> gold. But but now you are barely
- 26:42catching up.
- 26:45You're barely catching up because if
- 26:47some stability now happens in the in the
- 26:49areas where oil is there then
- 26:53then s then gold would a bit and it go
- 26:57down it would decrease a bit. It's not
- 26:59expected at all that it would plummet
- 27:02like it would decrease maybe three,
- 27:04four, five, three, three, three% around
- 27:06this time. But now if you are smart
- 27:09enough go ahead invest in
- 27:11>> silver.
- 27:13Silver because if if gold goes down then
- 27:17people turns to where?
- 27:19>> Silver now you can sell.
- 27:23Okay.
- 27:28is that do you know what we're talking
- 27:30about?
- 27:34So then again, gold today today is what?
- 27:39>> 12,900
- 27:41>> 11,900
- 27:43give or take.
- 27:46Silver
- 27:48>> 1,200
- 27:501200. Yeah. 1,200
- 27:53around. Give give or take nearly.
- 27:57Okay. If you have it in your account,
- 27:59you are amongst those who are going to
- 28:01pay zaka if you keep it, which is very
- 28:04unlikely.
- 28:11Now
- 28:13they are struggling. People are
- 28:15struggling.
- 28:22Some people say with tin
- 28:25and tin. Absolutely. No, no doubt.
- 28:31He now he's talking about but we have
- 28:35only two minutes. What do you think?
- 28:37Should we just keep it here and we're
- 28:39going to continue in the following
- 28:40session, right? Inshallah next week or
- 28:43actually next week because the
- 28:46convention he says only in Saturday
- 28:48we're going to meet inshallah. So Sunday
- 28:50it's going to be for
- 28:53>> Yeah. And we're going to be on the same
- 28:55the same book. Yes. You raise your hand.
- 29:00>> Yes.
- 29:10>> If you can choose the investment, choose
- 29:12a company that that is that it's a
- 29:16product of halal. As for investments is
- 29:19just uncontrollable because they they
- 29:21invest in the American stock market.
- 29:23It's very rare with that. They went to
- 29:26over 120 American companies or foreign
- 29:30companies investing in the American
- 29:32stock market NASDAQ or whatever
- 29:36they I don't find when I went over the
- 29:38street that either that they that their
- 29:41products are haram or their products are
- 29:44halal but they but they borrow and lend
- 29:47in uh with the with interest but so then
- 29:51what we say to you then you don't have
- 29:53it here in the United states.
- 29:56It's it's it's very difficult to say to
- 29:58people if they don't have retirement
- 30:00plans, they're going to be thrown in the
- 30:02streets.
- 30:04You say to people, it's
- 30:07immediately definitely would encourage
- 30:10them to be investors, but this is not
- 30:12the trend. We would like you to not have
- 30:15a retirement plans to be the boss, to be
- 30:17the investor, to see you are the one who
- 30:20has actually others invested in your
- 30:22company.
- 30:24It's not reality. Now people, it's not
- 30:26about saving capital to invest. Now they
- 30:29just struggle to pay their bills.
- 30:33I would assume I don't have statistics.
- 30:35But it's easy to pull up and you can go
- 30:37to the government and see how how people
- 30:39are worldly functioning. I would assume
- 30:42that most many Americans many Americans
- 30:47by half of the month they they they need
- 30:50a loan. They can't they can't do it.
- 30:54They can't do it. You need to have the
- 30:56basics. Groceries, paying your bills.
- 31:00If you if you're if you're in
- 31:01California,
- 31:03New York,
- 31:06even in some places in Virginia,
- 31:10go to Tennessee
- 31:12to any Georgia, go to these places,
- 31:16these these states. No, no.
- 31:19>> For the person that's ignorant and
- 31:20didn't pay uh Zikat on their retirement
- 31:23plans past 3 years, are they must they
- 31:27pay it like as soon as possible or can
- 31:29they wait?
- 31:30>> They they wait until [clears throat] day
- 31:31with the uh draw it but they calculate
- 31:34these years then every year you write it
- 31:36down. Oh, so you do as a when you
- 31:39actually hold
- 31:40>> when you actually hold it. We just
- 31:41mentioned that as opposed to some some
- 31:44say that if he is willing to pay if he's
- 31:46willing to pay like like in the in the
- 31:49case of uh for 41
- 31:53401k they they say that you pay it every
- 31:56year. You're going to pay it every year
- 32:03when you hold it. Yes.
- 32:07on a health savings account
- 32:10>> health saving accounts
- 32:13the same thing the same ruling is going
- 32:15to be applicable
- 32:15>> but you can only use that money for
- 32:17medical
- 32:18>> yeah the same thing
- 32:20because you can it's optional and you
- 32:23can withdraw it with whatever you want
- 32:26then you're going to pay the cat on it
- 32:35>> from the women's side Yes.
- 32:38>> Um when we have the saving account they
- 32:41said we we gain some money but it says
- 32:45>> yes
- 32:47you have you need to have a checking
- 32:49account.
- 32:51You if you have a saving account
- 32:54you're going to pay this interest and
- 32:56when they pay your interest back get rid
- 32:58of it and change your account. Get rid
- 33:01of it. Even if you have o and sometimes
- 33:05if you have overdraft they call them
- 33:07fees. Now you are paying rebel.
- 33:10So make sure you don't overdraft at the
- 33:13rebel. You're paying rebel because what
- 33:15you are actually doing
- 33:18you are they are lending you now. If you
- 33:21overdraft they are crediting you. So you
- 33:24don't overdraft. If you know balance and
- 33:28having and have a checking account, you
- 33:30not have a saving account. Saving
- 33:32account you are lending the the the
- 33:35bank. You're lending them. This is how
- 33:37they create money. They call it they
- 33:39create money. How they create money?
- 33:41They borrow from you on their liability.
- 33:43They go to another customer. They are
- 33:46they do what? Now they are the lenders.
- 33:48They take the profit. They call it the
- 33:50percentage of interest. Now they created
- 33:52money. oil while is on the table. They
- 33:55create money out of thin air.
- 33:58Now, this is how they work. Banks, they
- 34:02create money out of thin air sitting on
- 34:05a table making billions and billions and
- 34:07billions.
- 34:09>> Yes, there are savings accounts that
- 34:11have no interest. Some
- 34:13>> pay some banks, but the default that the
- 34:16the your saving account is actually
- 34:18because this is the main of saving
- 34:19account. You are lending the money. Save
- 34:22it.
- 34:27>> Yeah. Can you invest in things related
- 34:30to war like right now oil?
- 34:32>> Well,
- 34:33the investment in of itself is
- 34:35permissible. But since you know that
- 34:38most of these companies actually they
- 34:39are included in what we call the
- 34:41industrial the military industrial
- 34:43complex.
- 34:45they are actually
- 34:48they are sold to do harm.
- 34:51So in most of the cases
- 34:55I don't encourage it but it's very
- 34:56difficult to say it is haram because you
- 34:58don't you don't know exactly that it's
- 35:00going to do harm. It might go to people
- 35:02that they they use it for any good usage
- 35:06to defend themselves,
- 35:09right?
- 35:11It is if it is very likely that that
- 35:13it's going to be used for haram things,
- 35:16then you don't use it. You should not
- 35:18invest. Yes.
- 35:20>> Can I pay for the zaka
- 35:23from livestock with currency like mix
- 35:26match?
- 35:27>> You're going to pay zakah from the same
- 35:29wealth.
- 35:31So for the livestock we're going to pay
- 35:32zaka from the livestock camels or
- 35:38or cows sheep you know crops from the
- 35:43same from the same wealth from the same
- 35:45type of wealth
- 35:52>> for complete ownership if you co own a
- 35:54business
- 35:55>> you're going to pay zaka according to
- 35:57your share
- 35:58>> the percentage so if you have 30% %
- 36:01they're not going to pay zaka of 30% of
- 36:03the company you have or the business you
- 36:05have
- 36:06>> you want to pay is that still acceptable
- 36:08>> what do you mean that you're going to
- 36:09pay it to go so one of you is going to
- 36:11pay it then he will return to the to the
- 36:14to the to the partner and he will get
- 36:16the percentage from it
- 36:25yes
- 36:25>> how would you
- 36:29get them. You get rid of them in in
- 36:32building a bridges, paving roads for the
- 36:35interest of the Muslims,
- 36:38but you don't give them as charity as as
- 36:41a
- 36:43making people merry and so on and so
- 36:44forth. You make it for the public usage,
- 36:47not for the private usage. This is the
- 36:49mean of getting rid of it.
- 36:53You use it for the public, for the
- 36:55public interest.
- 36:58What about
- 37:06they were more pious and righteous than
- 37:08building aaa from? See, we don't build
- 37:11fromb.
- 37:13>> Yes.
- 37:19>> With with what
- 37:20>> is it for a company to match the
- 37:23contribution in retirement plans?
- 37:25This is the the way that they are
- 37:28actually doing it in order to deter you
- 37:31from withdrawing. So it's it's a policy.
- 37:34If you have that agreement, if you have
- 37:37that agreement, if you can negotiate it,
- 37:39which is very unlikely, then that's what
- 37:42you should do. But if it's unnegotiable
- 37:43for them, this is the the the only
- 37:46option you have available, you know,
- 37:48otherwise you can't. Again, who choose
- 37:51to live here?
- 37:54you.
- 37:56>> Yeah, you choose to be here. Is there
- 37:58anybody, you know, lashing you to be
- 38:01here? You choose. This is the system.
- 38:04This is how it works
- 38:08in Sweden. In Sweden,
- 38:12they want to
- 38:14just ask Muslims to leave just pushing
- 38:17them out. This completely goes against
- 38:19what they propagating, you know, human
- 38:22rights, equality and all this stuff
- 38:24because they can't. So what they are
- 38:26doing, they're doing it so subtly.
- 38:29They're trying to make the life of
- 38:31Muslims hard
- 38:34and they they in Britain it's a bit
- 38:37difficult, but they might do it here in
- 38:39the United States. They might do it in
- 38:42many places in Europe.
- 38:45So they might do it a bit harder because
- 38:49many Muslims when they went to Europe
- 38:51and they said okay this is what we're
- 38:52propagating let's tested you know
- 38:55equality freedom of uh religion and
- 38:58expression and stuff but now actually
- 39:00they were anticipating Muslims when they
- 39:02come they assim yeah they integrated
- 39:04into the system but they found out that
- 39:07actually like in Norway, Denmark,
- 39:09Sweden, France
- 39:12they are they now they are holding
- 39:14They're holding to what they believe in.
- 39:17It varies. It depends on the the
- 39:19ethnicity, the demographics.
- 39:23But in general,
- 39:25Sweden, they would say halal, they won't
- 39:29say it's not allowed to have halal
- 39:31because if you say it's not allowed to
- 39:32have halal now, it goes against what
- 39:34they are propagating a freedom of
- 39:35religion and the religious property of
- 39:37human rights. But they will make it in a
- 39:40way it's targeting
- 39:42the halal And if you make halal mean
- 39:45difficult for a Muslim what's going to
- 39:47happen
- 39:49>> now you make life his life is difficult
- 39:53then you find another thing
- 39:56you can't wear a veil in they won't call
- 39:59it
- 40:01yeah Muslim or something or religious
- 40:03symbol they will formulate in a way to
- 40:07make it
- 40:09not targeting
- 40:11the the the the Muslim practice
- 40:13practices but its effect going to affect
- 40:16the Muslim practice. So now it is
- 40:18difficult. So if he if he has 10 things
- 40:21making his life very difficult either
- 40:24that he will concede to the system or he
- 40:26decide to do what? Leave and this is
- 40:29what we want.
- 40:30Okay. So Sweden now they are on top they
- 40:34this is how they are doing it now in a
- 40:35very subtle way silently. Nobody knows
- 40:38about what they're doing. They're not
- 40:40making a noise.
- 40:42They're not like here
- 40:44what they don't speak this way the
- 40:46Swedish because they are small country
- 40:48you know about what six seven million I
- 40:50think and nobody they you know have the
- 40:52year snow and nobody cares about the
- 40:54universe but and they have a very small
- 40:57Muslim population but they they can do
- 40:59it now they are setting the example for
- 41:02the Europeans okay no problem but now
- 41:04you have exposure yourself you don't
- 41:05believe in the stuff you don't believe
- 41:07in the freedom these things as as fits
- 41:11if If it works for me, I follow exactly
- 41:13like
- 41:15they would worship. They would make a
- 41:18statue
- 41:20made of dates. When they are hungry,
- 41:24they eat it.
- 41:26This is how it work. Democracy like a
- 41:28statue of dates. Democracy, freedom, all
- 41:31these propagations. If it goes well, the
- 41:35way we want. Yes. But when it's really
- 41:38tested
- 41:40because if you believe okay let ideas
- 41:43compete why are you afraid of Muslim if
- 41:45if Muslims if Muslims more convincing
- 41:48let them go this is what society will
- 41:51want
- 41:54that tells you nobody tests the west as
- 41:58Muslims
- 42:01because okay you're saying you you are
- 42:04liberal democratic
- 42:06free. Let's see. Let's see.
- 42:15And they are exaggerating. Muslims want
- 42:17to take over. What I'm saying here is
- 42:19that
- 42:23at the end of the day, you you choose to
- 42:26be here. You choose. Most Muslims most
- 42:31most Muslims, they have a choice not to
- 42:33be.
- 42:35Most Muslims living in the west even
- 42:38born and raised I'm talking about the
- 42:39third generation still yeah yes they are
- 42:42citizens but still they have that nobody
- 42:45is forcing you to be here
- 42:47now many white Americans when they
- 42:49accept Islam they they move
- 42:53up by by their choice they go to
- 42:55Malaysia Saudi Arabia to whatever
- 43:00Bosnia
- 43:03nobody forcing you to be here very maybe
- 43:075 to 10% maybe they don't have any other
- 43:10option
- 43:12but you have a you have a choice to be
- 43:13here it's a choice it's not forced you
- 43:16know now
- 43:19I wanted to know if a person wants to
- 43:22know about and they're just like you
- 43:26know
- 43:28citizen or somebody who doesn't know
- 43:29anything about snap is there like a
- 43:31authentic website or somewhere that you
- 43:33can refer them to where they can read
- 43:36about different
- 43:37>> about the the Islamic financial system,
- 43:40the Islamic the economic system
- 43:43[snorts]
- 43:44>> in English
- 43:48to share with us the show.
- 43:50>> I can Yeah. Yeah. I can go to my books
- 43:53and see the references because I'm I'm
- 43:55I'm a book person. I can see the
- 43:58references and I can refer them to you
- 44:00if I if I find a you know.org or go
- 44:05I can refer it inshallah.
