  7. 0:17communication and in this lesson you
  8. 0:21Learners are expected to determine and
  9. 0:24discuss the different functions of
  10. 0:26communication
  11. 0:28now I have a question for you major
  12. 0:31students was there a scenario or a
  13. 0:34situation in your life wherein you have
  14. 0:37completed a transaction like having
  15. 0:41bought a medicine from a pharmacy
  16. 0:43or what this is being told by your mom
  17. 0:47or even ordered food
  18. 0:50in Jollibee
  19. 0:54if so it means you have done or
  20. 0:56experienced the different functions of
  21. 0:59communication so before we proceed to
  22. 1:02the different functions of communication
  23. 1:03let us first Define what does it mean
  24. 1:08communication functions refers to how
  25. 1:11people use language in different
  26. 1:14purposes
  27. 1:16it also refers to how language is being
  28. 1:19affected by time places or situations
  29. 1:26communication serves five major
  30. 1:29functions within a group
  31. 1:31first we have regulation or control we
  32. 1:36also have information dissemination
  33. 1:39we also have emotional expression
  34. 1:42we have social interaction and lastly we
  35. 1:47have motivation
  36. 1:49now let us discuss these functions one
  37. 1:53by one
  38. 1:54the first one is regulation or control
  39. 1:58this function of communication can be
  40. 2:01used to control the behavior of human
  41. 2:04it also limit or regulate the activities
  42. 2:09where person or human or engaged in
  43. 2:13there are basic forms of Regulation or
  44. 2:17control
  45. 2:18here they are
  46. 2:21doctors prescriptions parents
  47. 2:24instructions to their children
  48. 2:26French giving advice on what course of
  49. 2:29action to take or even customers making
  50. 2:32orders here are just few among the many
  51. 2:36basic forms of Regulation or control
  52. 2:40take note that the main purpose of

  76. 3:55now let's take a look on the basic forms

  82. 4:11making petitions or expressing a need
  83. 4:17motivation could either be extrinsic or
  84. 4:20intrinsic an individual May communicate
  85. 4:24within self if he or she uses intrinsic
  86. 4:28motivation
  87. 4:31the fourth function of communication is
  88. 4:33information dissemination this
  89. 4:36communication can be used in getting and
  90. 4:39giving information
  91. 4:41and here are the basic forms of
  92. 4:43information dissemination
  93. 4:46giving information using statements I
  94. 4:49have three sisters
  95. 4:51for every action there is a reaction
  96. 4:56giving information using rhetorical
