- 0:14hello and welcome today we're going to
- 0:16be working with cartoon animator
- 0:205 Okay so we've gone ahead and selected
- 0:23a scene here by double clicking on the
- 0:27scene I've gone ahead and selected a
- 0:29park Ben and
- 0:32park and I just wanted to show you by
- 0:35shrinking the scene down a little bit
- 0:38this red border that's the actual what
- 0:41you're going to see in the camera when
- 0:44um when it
- 0:49renders and then here you can see that
- 0:51if you click on the scene list here I've
- 0:54turned on the
- 0:56highlighter uh you
- 0:58can un click all of those and see how
- 1:02these are layered into the
- 1:11scene so you can have these on or off or
- 1:15put different backgrounds in different
- 1:18things you can change the scenes
- 1:21around but I pretty much stick to what
- 1:24comes with it I'm pretty new at this
- 1:33okay we'll go ahead and uh select an
- 1:36actor and we'll put an actor out onto
- 1:40the
- 1:51stage yeah I'll size him up
- 2:05okay and then uh in a few minutes we'll
- 2:06go in and we'll make a couple
- 2:08conversions here to take off his hat and
- 2:11his
- 2:26glasses so if you're on the very first
- 2:28frame and you move him around he doesn't
- 2:31make a little path but if you move him
- 2:34forward on the timeline and then move
- 2:37him then you're going to have him follow
- 2:40that path that you just
- 2:46saw which is great we already have a
- 2:49direction that we're going to head him
- 2:51kind of towards the bench and then he'll
- 2:54walk off the scene here so now we're
- 2:56going to go and we're going
- 2:58to go into to the templates and we're
- 3:01going to find a
- 3:09motion we give awae
- 3:16motion let's go ahead and repeat
- 3:27that okay got keep adding a couple more
- 3:31of
- 3:43those okay that looks pretty good we'll
- 3:46get him walking off the scene
- 3:50here all right
- 4:00let's take a look at
- 4:08that yeah that looks pretty
- 4:27good okay at this point we're going to
- 4:29go ahead and open up the Sprite
- 4:32editor and we go ahead and remove his
- 4:35hat you can see how easy this
- 4:38is just click on any object up
- 4:42above and if you click the empty space
- 4:45below then that object will disappear
- 4:48off the character and if you ever want
- 4:50to put them back on you
- 4:51just reverse this process
- 5:12okay so now we've made a couple changes
- 5:14here to our
- 5:22actor now we'll work on his head motions
- 5:24a little bit by using the face editor
- 5:34I like to just move them a little bit
- 5:35down the
- 5:36timeline and then make a little
- 5:39adjustment then move them a little
- 5:44more and then what happens is it ends up
- 5:47blending the
- 5:55Motions which makes it look pretty
- 5:57natural that looks good
- 6:15all right
- 6:19good so now we can open up the timeline
- 6:22click on this uh
- 6:24second button here and it reduces it
- 6:27down to just the actor that's
- 6:29highlighted which is really convenient
- 6:31for
- 6:34finding the track that you want to be
- 6:37working
- 6:44on so I've gone ahead and moved the red
- 6:47stop so that we're only going to record
- 6:51just what's between the two red icons
- 7:04save that all right here we
- 7:13go so now we're going to go ahead and
- 7:16just uh set up the for uh rendering the
- 7:19clip and put it into the
- 7:23MP4 and we always want the 1080i setting
- 7:27when we're doing this wide screen and
- 7:30just make sure that the frames that we
- 7:32want to export are there
- 7:35which is correct now give the movie A a
- 7:43name and since this is going to we're
- 7:46building this for hound dog news and
- 7:49this is actually going to be part of the
- 7:51episode that you get to be a part of
- 7:54this be episode three
- 8:02and we'll be sure to go to cap cut
- 8:04and and you can see how that builds into
- 8:07the
- 8:09movie this is a work in
- 8:15progress yeah that looks pretty so
- 8:19uh let's give this a moment here
- 8:32okay we'll set up here to edit the hand
- 8:36Sprite uh his hand flipped over a few
- 8:39times when we put in the walk cycle so
- 8:41we'll fix
- 8:43that okay here we're going to start
- 8:45working on
- 8:47the flipping the hand over and what
- 8:51happens when you're uh putting in a a
- 8:54walk cycle is everywhere each time the W
- 8:58walk cycle starts s um for some reason
- 9:02it flips the Sprite of the hands or some
- 9:05of the Sprites over um and it's pretty
- 9:08easy to go in and and change it um we do
- 9:12this about six times here
- 9:15um and while I was doing this I was so
- 9:19busy just watching the hand that I
- 9:22wasn't paying attention to the timeline
- 9:24below and you'll notice that those
- 9:27diamonds there all we had to do is line
- 9:29up with the
- 9:31diamonds um I'm watching the hand and
- 9:34I'm pushing the arrow key here and
- 9:37looking for exactly the frame where the
- 9:39hand flip
- 9:41back okay but if you look down below on
- 9:43the timeline there you'll see those
- 9:45three diamonds and there goes the fourth
- 9:47diamond right there as
- 9:49I added the the movement to the
- 9:53hand okay so each time we just go line
- 9:56up with those dots I could have done
- 9:58this really quick but I was kind of
- 10:00being silly here and and watching the
- 10:02hand rather than the
- 10:04timeline so when you do it you can you
- 10:07know that all you have to do is line up
- 10:10there make your adjustment flip the
- 10:13hand you're
- 10:15done so pretty much it's just deciding
- 10:18what uh position you want the hands to
- 10:21be in depending on the character and the
- 10:24scene that you're
- 10:26creating you have a lot of choices
- 10:29we're just going with a relaxed
- 10:39hand okay I think that's uh about it for
- 10:42that
- 10:46stage yeah we'll save our work and move
- 10:57on now let's go go ahead and and start
- 11:01with this I've changed the hand position
- 11:04as you saw uh last night I went ahead
- 11:07and worked on the Park Bench so I'm
- 11:10going to just take
- 11:12you uh to where we
- 11:15were park bench was
- 11:20sitting uh somewhere about here when we
- 11:24started this project okay and so I've
- 11:28come in
- 11:32and I'll highlight the bench sometimes
- 11:35you can't highlight it on the screen you
- 11:36just come over here where get it
- 11:39unstuck okay
- 11:42and my mouse movements let me explain
- 11:45this really when I click it turns green
- 11:48if I double click you'll see two green
- 11:50flashes and right clicking is
- 11:53blue okay and so when you see me click
- 11:56on something you're see a green flash
- 12:00on now I'm going to hold this the left
- 12:03Mouse down and
- 12:05click so you'll see the green maintain
- 12:09itself go out of the scene through the
- 12:13pictures boom there we are and now I
- 12:17just need to make
- 12:20this rolling the mouse here okay now
- 12:23we'll make bench smaller put it back
- 12:27there and it'll fit nicely in into the
- 12:31background cool all right let's play
- 12:33this clip and see what we look
- 12:48like okay that's pretty awesome uh let's
- 12:51put some ey movements into this guy now
- 12:59all right we're going to roll back to
- 13:01the
- 13:03beginning as you see we've already put
- 13:06in that head movement last time
