  6. 0:11got a special guest in the building 2024
  7. 0:14Republican president uh presidential
  8. 0:15candidate Larry Elder welcome brother
  9. 0:17thank you so much for having me it is an
  10. 0:19honor how you feeling I feel good he
  11. 0:21does more than that though I mean radio
  12. 0:23host the radio host for 40 years
  13. 0:26old times best-selling list yeah I've
  14. 0:28got a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame
  15. 0:30corner of Hollywood and Vine Southeast
  16. 0:31corner just saying okay
  17. 0:34yeah yeah about a handful of radio guys
  18. 0:37too and I'm one of them yeah I think
  19. 0:38it's you Elvis Duran yeah big boy
  20. 0:42named Arthur Godfrey okay yeah so let's
  21. 0:45let's jump right into it why are you
  22. 0:47running for president
  23. 0:48well I'm running as an America first
  24. 0:50mega guy and we have an America first
  25. 0:52mega guy running obviously so the
  26. 0:55question is what do you bring to the
  27. 0:56table Mega okay and the answer is I
  28. 0:59bring a lot of issues to the table that
  29. 1:01I feel our side is not talking enough
  30. 1:02about if at all for example the number
  31. 1:05one social problem in America by far is
  32. 1:08the epidemic night of covet but a
  33. 1:10fatherlessness
  34. 1:1170 of black kids today enter the world
  35. 1:14without a father in the home married to
  36. 1:15the mother up from 25 back in 1965. now
  37. 1:1825 of white kids into the world today
  38. 1:20without a father in the home married to
  39. 1:22the mother and the stats are clear even
  40. 1:24Barack Obama once cited him
  41. 1:26if you're raised without a dead or five
  42. 1:27times more likely to be poor and commit
  43. 1:29crime nine times were likely to drop out
  44. 1:32of school and 20 times we're likely to
  45. 1:34end up in jail what's happened in the
  46. 1:36mid 60s with I think the best of
  47. 1:37intentions a Democrat named Lyndon
  48. 1:39Johnson launched what he called the war
  49. 1:40on poverty and since then we have
  50. 1:42incentivized women to marry the
  51. 1:43government and incentivize men to
  52. 1:45abandon their financial and moral
  53. 1:47responsibility you know when I tell say
  54. 1:49this to people
  55. 1:50the pushback I get is well there are
  56. 1:52lots of things that are going on
  57. 1:53systemic racism poverty uh here's the
  58. 1:56problem
  59. 1:57if you look at a young black male age 10
  60. 1:59to 43 that's young to me because I'm 71
  61. 2:01years old a young black man in that demo
  62. 2:04was 13 times more likely to be murdered
  63. 2:06than a young white man same demo
  64. 2:08young black man real young 19 and under
  65. 2:11the number one cause of preventable
  66. 2:12death is homicide almost always at the
  67. 2:15hands of another young black male
  68. 2:18same demo for white to the number one
  69. 2:20cause of preventable death is
  70. 2:21unintentional deaths that includes drug
  71. 2:23overdoses automobile accidents drownings
  72. 2:26uh it's not until they get to number
  73. 2:28four that death is the cause
  74. 2:31in America 60 of the shootings the
  75. 2:34robberies and the homicide Academy are
  76. 2:36committed by black people often against
  77. 2:37other black people of the homicides in
  78. 2:40this country half of them are black
  79. 2:42victims almost all killed by other
  80. 2:43blacks uh how do you explain that uh if
  81. 2:47it isn't for the absence of fathers are
  82. 2:49you prepared to say
  83. 2:50black people are just genetically
  84. 2:51inclined to commit more crime I doubt it
  85. 2:53and the go-to reaction often is is
  86. 2:56poverty uh and systemic racism here's
  87. 2:58the problem
  88. 3:001940 when there was blatant racism this
  89. 3:03is before Brown versus Board of
  90. 3:04Education before the Civil Rights Act of
  91. 3:0664. KKK was still alive and well 87
  92. 3:09percent of blacks lived under the
  93. 3:10poverty line now it's about 14 percent
  94. 3:13you can't blame it on poverty you can't
  95. 3:15blame it on racism it is the breakdown
  96. 3:16of the nuclear intact family and neither
  97. 3:19side is talking about it the left
  98. 3:20doesn't talk about it because they
  99. 3:21caused it with the welfare state and our
  100. 3:24side does not talk about it because if
  101. 3:25you're white
  102. 3:26you'll be accused of dissing single moms
  103. 3:28who are heroically raising these kids or
  104. 3:30you'll be accused of being a racist or
  105. 3:33if you're black you'll be accused as I
  106. 3:34was by the LA Times being the black face
  107. 3:35of white supremacy nobody's talking
  108. 3:37about that I am one of the reasons you
  109. 3:41know if your statistics are right what
  110. 3:42are the reasons that you think fathers
  111. 3:44aren't in the home
  112. 3:45as I said it's because uh in the mid 60s
  113. 3:48Lyndon Johnson launched what he called
  114. 3:49the war on poverty in Charlemagne
  115. 3:51literally they sent social workers
  116. 3:52door-to-door in the inner city I
  117. 3:54remember this advising women of the
  118. 3:56availability of welfare provided there
  119. 3:57was no man in the house it created an
  120. 3:59economic incentive for women to marry
  121. 4:01the government same thing with whites
  122. 4:03in 1965 eight percent of whites into the
  123. 4:06world without a father in the home area
  124. 4:07to the mother now it's about 25 percent
  125. 4:09also up threefold look at Census Data
  126. 4:121910
  127. 4:131920 1930 in places like Milwaukee
  128. 4:16Chicago Philadelphia a young black kid
  129. 4:19was slightly more likely to be brought
  130. 4:21into a world with a father in the home
  131. 4:23married to the mother than a young white
  132. 4:24kid we have incentivized this kind of
  133. 4:26bad behavior and has had disappointed
  134. 4:28bad effect on the black community
  135. 4:30let me ask a question what do white
  136. 4:31people do wrong
  137. 4:32what do you mean what do white people do
  138. 4:34I'm not worried about white people I'm
  139. 4:35worried about what what what's going on
  140. 4:37with us if there's systemic racism in
  141. 4:39this country no no I don't say there is
  142. 4:42you say there is I don't believe that oh
  143. 4:44you don't believe this no there used to
  144. 4:45be obviously tell me tell me what you
  145. 4:47think the number one systemic example of
  146. 4:49systemic racism is in America
  147. 4:54maybe mass incarceration maybe really
  148. 5:00um in during the Great Depression when
  149. 5:0250 of black adults were unemployed you
  150. 5:04didn't have this kind of mass
  151. 5:05incarceration it's the breakdown of the
  152. 5:07family
  153. 5:07there's a direction I'm not going to I I
  154. 5:09agree with the family part I'm a black
  155. 5:12man who is the father to his children
  156. 5:14and I'm happily married right black man
  157. 5:16to a black woman so I'm never going to
  158. 5:17argue at that point you know but I just
  159. 5:19feel like everything is black black
  160. 5:21black black black with you black is
  161. 5:23wrong black people do this and black
  162. 5:24people do that and when I ask you what
  163. 5:26white people do wrong you said you're
  164. 5:27not worried about white people I'm
  165. 5:29talking about the the damage
  166. 5:30disproportionate damage going on in the
  167. 5:32black community for example look at
  168. 5:34these uh smashing grants that are taking
  169. 5:35place in Los Angeles where I live
  170. 5:36there's a suburb called Glendale where
  171. 5:39at a mall recently a mob of 30 to 40
  172. 5:41people they had masks on but one guy got
  173. 5:42popped he was a black I think most of
  174. 5:44those who were doing this were black uh
  175. 5:46and in recent years and times have been
  176. 5:48a number of these in places like Chicago
  177. 5:49places like like New York
  178. 5:51if I were involved in something like
  179. 5:53that Charlemagne I grew up with a dad
  180. 5:55just as you're raising your your own
  181. 5:57children I would have been more afraid
  182. 5:59of my father than I would about the cops
  183. 6:00catching me these kids are afraid of
  184. 6:02neither they don't have a father in the
  185. 6:03home cops are demoralized they're
  186. 6:05pulling back uh their Manpower is short
  187. 6:07uh and as a result you tell a bad guy
  188. 6:10you're less likely to be caught
  189. 6:11convicted incarcerated crime goes up
  190. 6:13they may be criminals but they're not
  191. 6:14stupid when you say what do white people
  192. 6:16do I mean this is a country that has
  193. 6:18struggled mightily to get over its uh
  194. 6:20its historic racism there was a civil
  195. 6:23war there was a big Civil Rights
  196. 6:24Movement this is the only majority white
  197. 6:26country that's ever elected a black
  198. 6:27president let alone reelected a black
  199. 6:29president the three biggest cities in
  200. 6:31America are New York Chicago La they all
  201. 6:33have black Mayors even though no city
  202. 6:35has a majority of black population the
  203. 6:37president of Harvard is a black female
  204. 6:38Martin Luther King in 1966 Charlemagne
  205. 6:42gave an interview to the BBC this is two
  206. 6:44years after the Civil Rights Act of 64
  207. 6:46got passed and he said
  208. 6:48I'm Amazed
  209. 6:50how many positive changes there have
  210. 6:51been in America in the last two years
  211. 6:53why if things keep going like this we
  212. 6:55could have a black president in about 40
  213. 6:57years time do the math right on cue
  214. 6:59Barack Obama elected 2008. he didn't say
  215. 7:01there'll be a black female president of
  216. 7:02Harvard and there has been he didn't say
  217. 7:04they're going to be black CEOs of
  218. 7:06Fortune 500 companies and there have
  219. 7:07been several he didn't say the
  220. 7:08percentage of the house would equal the
  221. 7:10percentage of black people in the
  222. 7:11population and it does he didn't say the
  223. 7:14three largest cities would have black
  224. 7:15Mayors and they do he didn't say the
  225. 7:17largest and most prestigious
  226. 7:19organization organization of doctors the
  227. 7:21American Medical Association would have
  228. 7:23two black presidents and there have been
  229. 7:25he didn't say the most prestigious
  230. 7:26organization of lawyers the American Bar
  231. 7:29Association would have two black
  232. 7:30presidents and they have he said
  233. 7:32president meaning at that point I can
  234. 7:35feel that I've reached the Mountaintop
  235. 7:36which is the speech he gave right before
  236. 7:37he got assassinated the day before and
  237. 7:39now we act as Lyft Barack Obama never
  238. 7:42even got elected and we're still talking
  239. 7:43about systemic racism it's not fair it's
  240. 7:45wrong and you're discouraging black
  241. 7:47people from working hard
  242. 7:50Mr Elder a quick question let's just
  243. 7:53remove the word racism since that seems
  244. 7:55to be a word uh that that triggers you
  245. 7:58know a conversation down the water hole
  246. 7:59let's just focus on the word system
  247. 8:01uh you mentioned that the system uh was
  248. 8:05the one that discouraging again we have
  249. 8:06no problem with agreeing that the the
  250. 8:08family the the black family should
  251. 8:10certainly uh have some room for some
  252. 8:12improvement let's just focus on systems
  253. 8:14system well we're not going to go down
  254. 8:16that water you we're not going to go
  255. 8:18down that water hole let's get to the
  256. 8:19question so the question is you said
  257. 8:21that the system encouraged uh black
  258. 8:24women to be single mothers correct I
  259. 8:26said the welfare state yes the welfare
  260. 8:28the system so who's in charge of the
  261. 8:29system who's in charge of the system
  262. 8:31well it was Democrats that passed it and
  263. 8:34who were Democrats were they black or
  264. 8:35white at that time well at the time
  265. 8:37majority of black people were Democrats
  266. 8:39as the majority of black people were
  267. 8:40Democrats now I'm talking about the
  268. 8:42sister remember the main idea is the
  269. 8:43word system who was in charge of the
  270. 8:46system at the time the the Democrats at
  271. 8:48the time the system I'm just going to
  272. 8:50Charlemagne's point about white or black
  273. 8:51was it white Democrats in charge of the
  274. 8:53system or black Democrats well if you're
  275. 8:55prepared to say that Lyndon Johnson did
  276. 8:58this viciously with an intent to destroy
  277. 9:00the black family I disagree he did it
  278. 9:01with the best of intentions
  279. 9:03and if you look at if you look at the
  280. 9:05New York Times which is left wing The
  281. 9:07Washington Post which is left wing they
  282. 9:08cheered all of this right and what I'm
  283. 9:10asking was it white people so I'm going
  284. 9:12to ask again in case my mic's not coming
  285. 9:14through clearly was it white people in
  286. 9:16charge of the system are black people in
  287. 9:18charge of that system that helped break
  288. 9:19down the black family it's a simple yes
  289. 9:21just a simple question white or black
  290. 9:23well you didn't have to go on welfare
  291. 9:26unless you voluntarily chose to go on
  292. 9:27welfare the inducement was put there by
  293. 9:30democrats uh by the left right okay well
  294. 9:34most black most black people were
  295. 9:36Democrats and they voted for these white
  296. 9:37people not voters I said who's in charge
  297. 9:38of the system
  298. 9:40who put them in charge
  299. 9:45Linda Johnson was white thank you okay
  300. 9:48but but if your argument is that the
  301. 9:50reason he did it is because of racism
  302. 9:52then I disagree he did it because that's
  303. 9:54not my argument I just asked you a
  304. 9:55simple question was he white or black
  305. 9:56Charlemagne and you know Mr Ellie you
  306. 9:58said uh you talked about the Smashing
  307. 10:00grabs right and I find that interesting
  308. 10:01because you know when you see the mass
  309. 10:03shootings that happened majority of
  310. 10:05those people are white males what do you
  311. 10:06what do you think about it actually if
  312. 10:08you look at the percentage of whites in
  313. 10:10America which is 60 percentage of mass
  314. 10:13Shooters is under that the percentage of
  315. 10:15people that commit hate crime is under
  316. 10:17that the percentage of people who are
  317. 10:18serial killers is under that black
  318. 10:20people are 13 of the population we
  319. 10:22commit a greater percentage compared to
  320. 10:23that we talked about the Smashing grabs
  321. 10:25though so I was saying since you're
  322. 10:26using that as an example I'm saying well
  323. 10:28what about you know the mass shooters
  324. 10:30that are usually white males one more
  325. 10:32time they are usually white males
  326. 10:34because 60 of the country is is white
  327. 10:36however they underrepresent in terms of
  328. 10:40the number of mass shootings uh about 50
  329. 10:42or so of the mass shootings in this
  330. 10:43country are committed by white people
  331. 10:45even the white people are 60 of the
  332. 10:46population they underrepresent we over
  333. 10:48represent when it comes to hate crime
  334. 10:50when it comes to mass shootings when it
  335. 10:52comes to serial killings when it comes
  336. 10:53to robberies when it comes to virtually
  337. 10:54every category of violent crime we over
  338. 10:57represent so what do white people do
  339. 10:58wrong
  340. 10:59I'm gonna keep asking you that because
  341. 11:00well it seems to me rather than deal
  342. 11:04with with what's going on the pathology
  343. 11:05that's going on in the inner city you
  344. 11:07want to blame you want me to talk about
  345. 11:09how bad white people are um
  346. 11:11which I don't think is a pretty
  347. 11:13particularly productive thing to do I
  348. 11:15think no I'm talking I'm talking to the
  349. 11:16cause and effect but you know if we
  350. 11:18can't talk about the cause which I
  351. 11:19believe is systemic racism and white
  352. 11:20supremacy the FBI says well I just told
  353. 11:22you if it's systemic racism please
  354. 11:24explain to me how it was when Americans
  355. 11:26America really had systemic racism in
  356. 11:281940 87 of black lived under the poverty
  357. 11:31line again this is during a Jim Crow era
  358. 11:34my father is from Athens Georgia grew up
  359. 11:36in Jim Crow my mom is from Huntsville
  360. 11:37Alabama grew up in Jim Crow 87 of blacks
  361. 11:40live below the poverty line this is
  362. 11:41before Brown versus Board of Education
  363. 11:43you did not find you did not find these
  364. 11:45kind of black on black crimes probably
  365. 11:46because they still were living below the
  366. 11:48poverty line though sir I'm sorry
  367. 11:50forgetting the fact that they they were
  368. 11:51still living below the poverty line
  369. 11:52you're picking and choosing saying this
  370. 11:54was good
  371. 11:55okay the end between the part of your
  372. 11:58line but let's move forward well let me
  373. 11:59can I just can I just address that in
  374. 12:011940 87 of blacks lived under the
  375. 12:04poverty line 1960 that number had fallen
  376. 12:06to 47 that's a 40 Point drop in 20 years
  377. 12:08that's the greatest 20-year period of
  378. 12:10economic expansion for black people in
  379. 12:12the history of America again well before
  380. 12:14Brown versus Board of Education well
  381. 12:16before the KKK uh imploded well before
  382. 12:19we had race-based preferences why
  383. 12:21because it was rare for a black kid to
  384. 12:23be raised in a family without a father
  385. 12:25in the home a strong belief in
  386. 12:27judeo-christian values a belief in
  387. 12:29patriotism even as America wasn't
  388. 12:31applying these values to black people
  389. 12:32obviously and the belief in
  390. 12:34entrepreneurship all those things are
  391. 12:36now under assault by organizations like
  392. 12:37black lives matter Charlemagne black
  393. 12:39lives matter had on their website an
  394. 12:41attack on the nuclear family the
  395. 12:43founders are self-described Marxist
  396. 12:45trained marxists Marx wanted to Dethrone
  397. 12:47God was an atheist and Mark did not
  398. 12:49believe in capitalism let alone
  399. 12:50entrepreneurship all the things that
  400. 12:52made black people still survive in
  401. 12:54virulent racism are now under attack by
  402. 12:56organizations like black lives matter
  403. 12:57all those things have always been under
  404. 12:59attack by white supremacy you can go
  405. 13:00back to things like whether it's the
  406. 13:01Tulsa Race massacres like every time
  407. 13:04black people do create these systems
  408. 13:06that are our systems and we are the
  409. 13:08entrepreneurs it seems like white
  410. 13:09supremacy finds a way to do this every
  411. 13:11time look the Tulsa Massacre within
  412. 13:14about five years that whole area was
  413. 13:16rebuilt uh it was not even called the
  414. 13:19the Black Wall Street until after it was
  415. 13:20rebuilt and was rebuilt by the way by
  416. 13:22black people without one dime of
  417. 13:24government money
  418. 13:25yeah who destroyed it to begin with it
  419. 13:27was right racist who destroyed it no
  420. 13:29question about it we've had race rights
  421. 13:31but so so if Japanese you do agree that
  422. 13:34there's racism I'm just so confused I
  423. 13:35never even came closer
  424. 13:38I never came close to saying there was
  425. 13:40no racism you just said you don't think
  426. 13:41it's systemic racism not anymore
  427. 13:43obviously there was we had something
  428. 13:45called slavery we had something called
  429. 13:46Jim Crow destroyed black West hold on
  430. 13:48sir I'm sorry
  431. 13:53system
  432. 13:54right wanting to pay those same living
  433. 13:56descendants because I know your position
  434. 13:57on reparations but those same living
  435. 13:59descendants of Black Wall Street okay
  436. 14:02and then you move and then you go on to
  437. 14:04say that this the system the
  438. 14:05quote-unquote system is also trying to
  439. 14:07destroy president Trump so I'm just so
  440. 14:08confused on do you believe that the
  441. 14:10system can destroy or not you you pick
  442. 14:12and choose sir and that's what's so
  443. 14:14confusing to me you just said it wasn't
  444. 14:16racism now it is racism
  445. 14:18I said there was no racist I said it
  446. 14:21wasn't systemic racism let's talk about
  447. 14:22uh
  448. 14:24can I can I can I can I just make this
  449. 14:27make this point Charlamagne please uh
  450. 14:29let's take Chinese Americans uh Chinese
  451. 14:31Americans were the first ethnic group to
  452. 14:33be excluded with an Immigration Act in
  453. 14:34the late 1800s uh they had riots against
  454. 14:37Chinese uh in L.A in San Francisco there
  455. 14:40were laws that prevented Chinese
  456. 14:41Americans from participating in the
  457. 14:43laundry business I'm in California
  458. 14:45California of course rounded up Japanese
  459. 14:47Americans during World War II there were
  460. 14:49laws that prevented Japanese Americans
  461. 14:50from owning Farmland the average
  462. 14:52Japanese-American household has a higher
  463. 14:54Capital Income than the average White
  464. 14:56household the average Chinese American
  465. 14:57household has a higher per capita income
  466. 14:59than the average White household how
  467. 15:01does that happen it happens because of a
  468. 15:02strong belief in family it is rare for a
  469. 15:05Chinese American or a Japanese American
  470. 15:07kid to have to have a child outside of
  471. 15:08wedlock and a strong belief in education
  472. 15:11and a strong belief in entrepreneurship
  473. 15:13these are the kinds of qualities that
  474. 15:14make people successful you can't blame
  475. 15:16everything on having a fatherless family
  476. 15:18right because I didn't say blaming
  477. 15:19everything but that's what you're saying
  478. 15:21you're saying a strong community no you
  479. 15:22said that's what I just said I didn't
  480. 15:23say you talk about the Asian community
  481. 15:24Asian Community it's easy for them to
  482. 15:26get loans for entrepreneurships it's
  483. 15:27easy for them to get loans for houses
  484. 15:29you look at our community if you really
  485. 15:31if you really want to talk about our
  486. 15:32community right you look at the schools
  487. 15:33in our community some of our schools are
  488. 15:34the worst right would you agree with
  489. 15:36that yes or no absolutely
  490. 15:39one of the reasons I'm running for
  491. 15:41president for school so would you say
  492. 15:42that is in our community is systemic
  493. 15:45it's also in our communities heavy food
  494. 15:46deserts there's nothing but fast food
  495. 15:48places that are just killing and
  496. 15:49destroying that would you say that's
  497. 15:50true boy
  498. 15:52um
  499. 15:53you said number of things I just
  500. 15:55addressed one of them about loans in
  501. 15:581965
  502. 15:59Barack Obama who was in private practice
  503. 16:02joined a bunch of other lawyers to filed
  504. 16:04a class action lawsuit against City
  505. 16:06Corps which is headquartered here in New
  506. 16:08York 186 black people were applying for
  507. 16:11loans for mortgages they didn't get them
  508. 16:13and they accused City Corp of engaging
  509. 16:15in racism City Corp said no it's not
  510. 16:17racism you have poor credit scores and
  511. 16:19we want to make sure we get our money
  512. 16:20back Obama joined a bunch of other
  513. 16:22lawyers and they sued City COPE in a
  514. 16:25class action lawsuit and City Corps said
  515. 16:26okay to hell with it gave them all loans
  516. 16:29and they followed them all up Daily
  517. 16:32Caller did a few years later almost all
  518. 16:33of them lost their homes several of them
  519. 16:35filed for bankruptcy one of them even
  520. 16:36said you know when you don't qualify for
  521. 16:39a loan maybe we shouldn't get a loan
  522. 16:40well duh it wasn't true that black
  523. 16:43people were not getting loans plus there
  524. 16:45are all sorts of black owned Community
  525. 16:47Banks around the country and it turns
  526. 16:48out the turn down rate when you apply
  527. 16:51for a loan at a black Community Bank was
  528. 16:53even higher because they had less
  529. 16:54capital and they couldn't afford to loan
  530. 16:56money to risky people it is just not the
  531. 16:59case that the reason for the plight of
  532. 17:01the black community is because people
  533. 17:02were not lending money to them it's just
  534. 17:04not true that's not true
  535. 17:05what's not true about facts of 1965
  536. 17:09right let's talk 2023 right I said 1995
  537. 17:111995 I was told 2023 right my son will
  538. 17:14be successful in real estate and
  539. 17:16successful in buying a house you know
  540. 17:17why because of you because if you owns a
  541. 17:19house right but my father because if you
  542. 17:22and the driver not own houses because if
  543. 17:25you and the drive you put into We're not
  544. 17:26gonna have a conversation you're not
  545. 17:27even appreciating what you've done to
  546. 17:28yourself
  547. 17:30okay we have a conversation all right
  548. 17:33when we talk about it right it's harder
  549. 17:35for our community to get to get loans
  550. 17:36right and not just because of poor
  551. 17:38credit scores it's because of of where
  552. 17:40the areas are you talked about the Asian
  553. 17:42Community a lot of the Asian Community
  554. 17:43have their own Banks and they're able to
  555. 17:45process and get their own Banks there's
  556. 17:47not too many African-American branches
  557. 17:49that are able to give out money so
  558. 17:50that's one then let's talk about getting
  559. 17:52grants for Schools they're not even
  560. 17:53giving grants for schools at the rate
  561. 17:55that they're giving grants for white
  562. 17:56people and let's talk about when they
  563. 17:57talk about entrepreneurship they are
  564. 17:59giving so much money to these white and
  565. 18:02Asian kids and Asian people doing it and
  566. 18:04uh a thousand times less than our
  567. 18:06community will you agree to any of that
  568. 18:07no no I don't I don't we was virtually
  569. 18:09anywhere any of what you just now said
  570. 18:11the the turn down rate for a white right
  571. 18:14applicant for a mortgage is higher than
  572. 18:16the turn down rate for a Japanese or
  573. 18:18Chinese applicant for a mortgage now are
  574. 18:20you telling me that banks are
  575. 18:21discriminating against white in favor of
  576. 18:23Asian Americans is because their credit
  577. 18:25scores are better they often live below
  578. 18:27their means they save more even when
  579. 18:28they're making the same amount of money
  580. 18:29than black people do if you have poor
  581. 18:31credit score you're not going to get a
  582. 18:32loan period end of statement even even
  583. 18:35ahead of Urban League even the head of
  584. 18:37Urban League a black man once said that
  585. 18:39if you have poor credit score you're not
  586. 18:40going to get a loan end of the state sir
  587. 18:42but let's just okay when you were
  588. 18:45talking about crime you you weren't
  589. 18:46prepared to talk about this proportion
  590. 18:48you talked about how it was more black
  591. 18:49people that was doing it and then you
  592. 18:50talked about how we're the smaller no
  593. 18:52other population the same applies also
  594. 18:54to the loans it's more white people than
  595. 18:56it is black people you seem to pick
  596. 18:57you're talking about the rate
  597. 19:00whatever it is the bottom line is it's
  598. 19:02more white people than it is black
  599. 19:03people and so if more black people are
  600. 19:05getting not getting loans
  601. 19:06disproportionately it seems you'd only
  602. 19:08want to apply the disproportion uh to
  603. 19:11the conversation when it benefits I'm
  604. 19:13not
  605. 19:15I'm not sure you understood my point
  606. 19:17that's why I mentioned in 1995 186 black
  607. 19:20people who were not getting loans filed
  608. 19:22a class action lawsuit claiming that
  609. 19:23they were denied the loan because of
  610. 19:24racism City Corps said okay here are
  611. 19:26your loans the reason I wasn't giving
  612. 19:27you the loans is because we're afraid
  613. 19:28you weren't going to be able to pay them
  614. 19:30back fast forward they weren't able to
  615. 19:31pay them back which proved talking about
  616. 19:34that I'm not talking I know you're not
  617. 19:35because you're talking about I'm talking
  618. 19:38about your response to Envy when he said
  619. 19:40when you said more white people get
  620. 19:42approved for loans
  621. 19:43I said black Americans have the highest
  622. 19:46denial rates for purchase and
  623. 19:47refinancing loans according to Home
  624. 19:48Mortgage disclosures
  625. 19:50all credit scores are the same 15 of
  626. 19:54Hispanic loan applicants were denied
  627. 19:55compared with about 11 of white and 10
  628. 19:58percent of Asian applicants with same
  629. 20:00credit scores and that's Washington Post
  630. 20:02since you love numbers so much and I
  631. 20:04know you do love numbers that's coming
  632. 20:05from The Washington Post that's 2023 I
  633. 20:07can show you a study that says the
  634. 20:09opposite let me ask you a question uh
  635. 20:10yeah Mr uh Donald Trump Rudy Giuliani
  636. 20:13and I'm pretty sure everybody who just
  637. 20:14called a RICO with him in Georgia they
  638. 20:16all had fathers and they still ended up
  639. 20:18in jail how did that happen
  640. 20:19[Music]
  641. 20:21nobody said if you have a father you
  642. 20:23won't go to jail nobody said if you
  643. 20:26didn't have a father you're going to
  644. 20:27jail my father never guess what you did
  645. 20:29say mistake
  646. 20:30man answer me answer these questions
  647. 20:34let them finish this statement my father
  648. 20:36never knew his biological father he got
  649. 20:38thrown out of the house when he was
  650. 20:39eight when he was 13 years old eighth
  651. 20:40grade Dropout Jim Crow South Athens
  652. 20:42Georgia uh fast forward my dad cleaned
  653. 20:45toilets two full-time jobs cleaning
  654. 20:46toilets when I was growing up went to
  655. 20:48night school to get his GED and then
  656. 20:49after that he went to high school to
  657. 20:50learn how to operate a small restaurant
  658. 20:51age of 47 my dad says Nicholson dimes
  659. 20:54from his job starts a small restaurant
  660. 20:55near downtown L.A fast forward he
  661. 20:58retires in his 80s he owned that
  662. 20:59restaurant he owned property next door
  663. 21:00plus the house that's still in our
  664. 21:02family not too shabby for somebody who
  665. 21:04did not know his biological father it's
  666. 21:05not a death sentence you still have
  667. 21:06choices it's just much much more
  668. 21:08difficult to raise a child on your own
  669. 21:10even Tupac Shakur said I know for a fact
  670. 21:12[ __ ] Tupac excuse me I know for I know
  671. 21:14for a fact uh had I had a father I would
  672. 21:16have been more confident I would have
  673. 21:17been more disciplined end of quote well
  674. 21:19how did all those white men end up in
  675. 21:20jail when he said still had fathers the
  676. 21:21trumps and Giuliani I'm just asking the
  677. 21:23question how did they end up in jail
  678. 21:24because because some people commit
  679. 21:26crimes no sir stop my apologies for
  680. 21:30interrupting you earlier I just couldn't
  681. 21:32stomach the answer that I knew you
  682. 21:33couldn't stomach the answer yeah I
  683. 21:35couldn't stop me because your actual
  684. 21:36answer to Trump uh being what what's
  685. 21:39happening here with the indictments you
  686. 21:40actually said that the system was doing
  687. 21:42it you said there was a two-tier system
  688. 21:43this is your word that's right it was a
  689. 21:45two-tier system so when it came to Trump
  690. 21:47all of a sudden you now believe in this
  691. 21:49systematic thing that's happening to
  692. 21:52Trump but then when it happened but it's
  693. 21:53not but it's not about race it's not
  694. 21:55about it I ask you that I asked you
  695. 21:56remember I told remember I made it easy
  696. 21:58for you and I took race out of it
  697. 21:59remember I said I'm just talking about
  698. 22:00the system I'm just talking about if you
  699. 22:02if you wanna if you want to ask me
  700. 22:04whether I believe Donald Trump is being
  701. 22:05treated the same way as Joe Biden and
  702. 22:07it's been no I didn't the same way as
  703. 22:08Hillary Clinton all these people are
  704. 22:10white all these people are white there's
  705. 22:11a double
  706. 22:12standards my question you said today you
  707. 22:15didn't hear my question said some people
  708. 22:16commit crime so you do believe that
  709. 22:17Trump Giuliani them they committed a
  710. 22:19crime I don't know would you you just
  711. 22:21said some people come here crying I said
  712. 22:22some people commit a crime I didn't say
  713. 22:23Donald Trump committed a crime if you
  714. 22:24ask me specifically whether I believe
  715. 22:25Donald Trump came to the crime I don't I
  716. 22:26don't specifically about those people
  717. 22:28and why they ended up in jail they all
  718. 22:29got fathers well Donald Trump's not in
  719. 22:31jail well he got indicted yeah you got
  720. 22:33to indicted that's a far cry from being
  721. 22:35in jail
  722. 22:36why did he get indicted he got arrested
  723. 22:39well he got he's going to get arrested
  724. 22:41he got him he got indicted in my opinion
  725. 22:43because uh the uh doj has a double
  726. 22:46standard they let Hillary pass for
  727. 22:48example she clearly violated the
  728. 22:50Espionage Act by having an unsecured
  729. 22:52survey in her basement uh she paid for
  730. 22:54the Steele dossier she destroyed thirty
  731. 22:58thousand uh emails that were under
  732. 23:00subpoena and she got a wrist slap uh and
  733. 23:02Donald Trump is now being indicted I
  734. 23:04think for the fourth time it's unfair
  735. 23:05right now I grew up the FBI is for a
  736. 23:08long time and in the FBI has been
  737. 23:10corrupt uh there was cointel uh the uh
  738. 23:13the FBI
  739. 23:14Jacob Hoover also uh wiretapped MLK
  740. 23:17under Robert Kennedy the a Democrat
  741. 23:19Attorney General
  742. 23:21right right and I find it interesting
  743. 23:23how the same people who criticize the
  744. 23:25FBI historically are now defending the
  745. 23:27FBI because they're going after Donald
  746. 23:28Trump oh we're not defending that I
  747. 23:30didn't say you were I said some of the
  748. 23:31same people we're just looking and
  749. 23:33saying damn finally what's your thoughts
  750. 23:35with Florida and you see that uh they're
  751. 23:37trying to take out history out of these
  752. 23:39history books and not trying to teach
  753. 23:40our history I find it interesting that
  754. 23:43the Democrats are the ones complaining
  755. 23:44about Florida this is a party of slavery
  756. 23:47party of Jim Crow the party of the KKK
  757. 23:49the party of the Southern Manifesto
  758. 23:52the the party of uh of Dread Scott the
  759. 23:56party that I said earlier destroyed the
  760. 23:57nuclear intact family and the party that
  761. 23:59is opposing school choice and now they
  762. 24:01want to lecture Florida on making sure
  763. 24:03the proper history of slavery is taught
  764. 24:05I don't I don't know anybody who's
  765. 24:06defending slavery anybody not not Rhonda
  766. 24:10said he's not defense people benefited
  767. 24:12from slavery actually you're talking
  768. 24:14about one life actually talking about
  769. 24:15one line in about 127 pages of of uh of
  770. 24:19of uh the study and it is a line that
  771. 24:22was repeated almost verbatim and the
  772. 24:24associated uh in the advanced placement
  773. 24:27African-American course that the the
  774. 24:30Senate Administration refused to use
  775. 24:31because of the sexual stuff that was in
  776. 24:33it it's basically the same thing that
  777. 24:35was in the advanced placement
  778. 24:36African-American courses and now because
  779. 24:38it's in that all of a sudden the the
  780. 24:40governor is accused of somehow defending
  781. 24:43slavery he's not doing anything of the
  782. 24:45sort what did you think about well sir
  783. 24:46you you were actually one that defended
  784. 24:47slavery uh in your comments you say that
  785. 24:49like it or not slavery was legal in
  786. 24:51response to reparation so it's you that
  787. 24:54was defending slavery correct uh
  788. 24:56defending it and saying that it's
  789. 24:58illegal are two very different things
  790. 25:00slavery slavery slavery slavery slavery
  791. 25:04unfortunately your response that was
  792. 25:06your response into if reparations should
  793. 25:07if reparation should happen so your
  794. 25:09response to that was like it or not
  795. 25:11slavery was legal and one would think
  796. 25:13that that was a defense on those well
  797. 25:15what you would think it was a defense
  798. 25:16but but it is not a defense
  799. 25:18unfortunately slavery has been part and
  800. 25:20parcel of human history from the very
  801. 25:22beginning Asians enslaved Asians whites
  802. 25:24enslaved whites blacks and slave blacks
  803. 25:25Native Americans slave Native Americans
  804. 25:27This is a culture the western
  805. 25:29civilization that had a revulsion
  806. 25:30against it we had a civil war against it
  807. 25:32uh we ought to applaud ourselves for
  808. 25:34doing something about this this is a
  809. 25:36flawed country it's moving forward uh
  810. 25:38it's becoming more perfect all the time
  811. 25:39today if you are born and raised in
  812. 25:42America if you finish High School
  813. 25:43presumably one where you can read
  814. 25:44writing computed grade level which is
  815. 25:46why I support School of Choice don't
  816. 25:47have a kid before you're 20 get married
  817. 25:49first get a job keep a job don't quit it
  818. 25:51until you get another job and avoid the
  819. 25:53criminal justice system you will not be
  820. 25:54poor if you don't follow that formula
  821. 25:56there's a good chance you will be you
  822. 25:57know uh the first GOP debate is coming
  823. 25:59up
  824. 26:00um and uh you didn't qualify and I saw
  825. 26:02you right well you didn't say I've Not
  826. 26:04I've not yet not qualified it's not
  827. 26:05until August 21. oh okay well I saw you
  828. 26:07right in the op-ed that the Republican
  829. 26:09National Committee has rigged the rules
  830. 26:10of the game by instituting a set of
  831. 26:12criteria that is uh so uh honors what is
  832. 26:16it
  833. 26:17I mispronounced Tupac so you
  834. 26:19mispronounced owners
  835. 26:23and poorly design that only established
  836. 26:26the billionaire candidates are
  837. 26:28guaranteed to be on stage explain to us
  838. 26:30why that uh system hurts people well
  839. 26:34I ran for governor of California I got
  840. 26:363.5 million votes it seems to me that
  841. 26:38made me credible
  842. 26:39the RNC is requiring us to have one
  843. 26:41percent or 40 000 individual donors in
  844. 26:442020 the DNC required you to have one
  845. 26:46percent or a certain number of donors
  846. 26:47for reasons that I don't quite
  847. 26:48understand the RNC is requiring you to
  848. 26:50have have both of them
  849. 26:52one of the candidates in this race is a
  850. 26:54multi-millionaire he's offered a 20 gift
  851. 26:56certificate if you give one dollar
  852. 26:58another one is offering a free air
  853. 27:00quotes country western concert if you
  854. 27:02give one dollar another one is giving
  855. 27:04you a commission if you are a
  856. 27:06prospective donor to go out and get
  857. 27:07other prospective donors seems to me
  858. 27:08that corrupts the whole process I'm
  859. 27:09doing it the old-fashioned way
  860. 27:10Charlemagne I'm asking people to support
  861. 27:12me and go to my website larryelder.com
  862. 27:14and give me at least one dollar
  863. 27:16if I get one dollar from forty thousand
  864. 27:18individuals I will be up on that stage
  865. 27:20in Milwaukee on August 23 and when I get
  866. 27:22up there game on hold my beer so why is
  867. 27:24this so would you is this system holding
  868. 27:26you back would you say it's a system
  869. 27:27holding I I would say it's unfair it
  870. 27:29seems to me this early uh the the voters
  871. 27:31ought to decide this I mean in 2016
  872. 27:33there were 17 or 18 Republican
  873. 27:35candidates now there's 13. uh somehow
  874. 27:37someway our Republic survived and we
  875. 27:39could survive with 13 candidates I don't
  876. 27:41know why there have all this rule to to
  877. 27:43eliminate certain people at this point
  878. 27:45but rather than those systems can hold
  879. 27:46you back
  880. 27:47I'm going to say but rather than whine
  881. 27:49about it my goal is to get on as many
  882. 27:51shows as I can like yours urge people to
  883. 27:53go to Larry elder.com give at least one
  884. 27:55dollar even if you want somebody else
  885. 27:58don't you think it's wise for us to talk
  886. 27:59about the epidemic of fatherlessness the
  887. 28:01lie that America remains systemic racism
  888. 28:03systemically racist uh and the need for
  889. 28:05school of choice 13 public high schools
  890. 28:07in Baltimore zero percent of the kids
  891. 28:08can do math at grade level are you
  892. 28:10kidding me 53 public high schools in
  893. 28:12Chicago zero percent of the kids can do
  894. 28:13math at grade level meanwhile the
  895. 28:15Democratic party is opposed to School of
  896. 28:16Choice while the party Elites whether
  897. 28:18it's Barack Obama or Gavin Newsom or or
  898. 28:21Joe Biden have their own kids in private
  899. 28:23school it is wrong and we need to talk
  900. 28:24about that Larry Elder why would why
  901. 28:27would somebody from our community vote
  902. 28:28for you or why should they vote for you
  903. 28:30why should a black person vote for you
  904. 28:31because I'm telling the truth and the
  905. 28:32truth oftentimes it's unpleasant it's
  906. 28:34not pleasant for me to be called the
  907. 28:36black face of white supremacy as the LA
  908. 28:37times did it's not pleasant for me to be
  909. 28:39accused of being anti-black as Tavis
  910. 28:41Smiley once called me because I I don't
  911. 28:43support reparations by the way Barack
  912. 28:44Obama never supported reparations nobody
  913. 28:46called him anti-black we need to talk
  914. 28:48about what's going on what's going on is
  915. 28:50the breakdown of the family and most of
  916. 28:51the things we complain about Downstream
  917. 28:53whether it's crime or whether it's bad
  918. 28:54schools the Genesis is the breakdown of
  919. 28:56the nuclear intact family and we don't
  920. 28:58talk enough about it do you agree that
  921. 29:00our community is hit harder with a lot
  922. 29:01of things that you just said whether it
  923. 29:03is racism whether it is getting loans
  924. 29:04whether it is getting entrepreneurship
  925. 29:06whether it is education whether it is
  926. 29:07all those things you do understand that
  927. 29:09and agree with I I do but much of it is
  928. 29:11either self-inflicted or because of
  929. 29:13policies that we have supported
  930. 29:14Democrats that we have supported I wrote
  931. 29:16a book called It's coming out in uh in
  932. 29:18October it's called as ghost California
  933. 29:20my mission to rescue the Golden State
  934. 29:22and save the nation it's about the
  935. 29:24one-party rule in California California
  936. 29:25has super majorities of Democrats in the
  937. 29:28Senate and in the house and as a result
  938. 29:30our schools are working are near the
  939. 29:31bottom people are leaving California for
  940. 29:33the very first time we have the highest
  941. 29:35uh state income tax in the country the
  942. 29:37average price of a home in California
  943. 29:38cost 175 percent above the national
  944. 29:40average all because of these left-wing
  945. 29:42policies that are hurting the very
  946. 29:43people black and brown people living in
  947. 29:45the inner city the people on the left
  948. 29:46claim that they care about do you think
  949. 29:48slavery is self-inflicted or do you
  950. 29:49think Jim Crow segregation was
  951. 29:51self-inflicted or do you think
  952. 29:54of course it wasn't self-inflicted but
  953. 29:57but there are a lot of a lot of people
  954. 30:00have bloody hands in slavery for example
  955. 30:02slavery could not have existed had it
  956. 30:03not been for African Chieftains who were
  957. 30:06selling a black slave captured uh in
  958. 30:08battle or captured through raids and
  959. 30:10selling them to European and Arab
  960. 30:12slavers it could not have could not have
  961. 30:13existed without that so everybody has
  962. 30:15dirty hands here that's why reparations
  963. 30:17is such a foolish thing if you're going
  964. 30:18to get reparations from the five percent
  965. 30:20or so of white people they have some
  966. 30:22sort of generational connection to
  967. 30:23slavery and that's all there is then you
  968. 30:25need to go back to Africa uh and get
  969. 30:27money from African countries that were
  970. 30:29involved in the slave trade and the and
  971. 30:30in the Arab slave trade and by the way
  972. 30:32the Arab slave trade was even worse than
  973. 30:33the European slave trade ninety percent
  974. 30:35rate of attrition often making men and
  975. 30:37women walk on Barefoot across the Sahara
  976. 30:39and the men were cast rated uh only
  977. 30:42about five so so so if they go after the
  978. 30:44money from the other countries then
  979. 30:45would you agree that it would be okay to
  980. 30:46go after the money from America
  981. 30:49when are you going to stop with this
  982. 30:51everybody has
  983. 30:56there'll be no end to this because
  984. 30:58slavery has been part of human history
  985. 31:00from the very beginning
  986. 31:02we'd be getting money let you talk sir
  987. 31:04I've let you talk and every time I talk
  988. 31:06you begin to talk and then you say let
  989. 31:07you finish so I asked you a very simple
  990. 31:09question you said if you're going to go
  991. 31:10after it in America go after in Africa
  992. 31:12so if we all agree to go after that in
  993. 31:14Africa will you then agree to go after
  994. 31:16that in America it's just a simple
  995. 31:17question no no I won't because it's a
  996. 31:19waste of time we ought to be spending
  997. 31:20our time on on education okay okay you
  998. 31:23told me that that I cut you off then I
  999. 31:25tried to answer your question you won't
1000. 31:26let me finish thank you it's a waste of
1001. 31:28time we ought to be talking about
1002. 31:29working hard investing in ourselves
1003. 31:31right now as we speak they're Haitians
1004. 31:33uh in Haiti lining up for a lottery to
1005. 31:35come into this country why because it is
1006. 31:37the land of the free and the home of the
1007. 31:39brave you can go from nothing to
1008. 31:40something faster in America than any
1009. 31:42other country in all of human history we
1010. 31:44ought to be talking about that let me
1011. 31:45just one more Point 1997 Time Magazine
1012. 31:49and CNN hooked up together to do a poll
1013. 31:51on what black teenagers and white
1014. 31:53teenagers felt about racism and both of
1015. 31:55them were assets racism a major problem
1016. 31:56in America both of them said yes but
1017. 31:58then time and CNN asked this question of
  1018. 32:00the of the black teenagers it's racism a
1019. 32:03big problem a small problem or no
1020. 32:05problem in your own daily life this is
1021. 32:061997. 89 of them said small problem or
1022. 32:10no problem in my own daily life in fact
1023. 32:11twice as many blacks said failure to
  1024. 32:14take advantage of available
  1025. 32:15opportunities is a bigger problem than
  1026. 32:17racism
  1027. 32:191997. look it up 2023 though
  1028. 32:22you think America's more racist now
  1029. 32:24after the election and re-election of
1030. 32:25Barack Obama than it was in 1997. yes
1031. 32:27because of the election of uh Maga
  1032. 32:30Donald Trump 100 yes really absolutely
1033. 32:33how is it how is it uh Charlemagne that
1034. 32:36Donald Trump got eight percent of the
1035. 32:37black vote in uh in 2016. he got 12 in
  1036. 32:422020 50 increase he got 20 percent of
1037. 32:45the black male vote in 2020. uh if Maga
1038. 32:48is racist how do you explain that that
1039. 32:49Donald Trump substantially increased the
1040. 32:51percentage of black votes Republican
1041. 32:53party God sometimes people make why are
  1042. 32:54you running against something yes I'm
  1043. 32:57not running against him I'm running
1044. 32:58against Biden Harris any one of the
1045. 33:00republican nominees we have would be
1046. 33:02better than what we have right now I'm
1047. 33:03not running against him I'm running to
1048. 33:05put forth the issues I just now
  1049. 33:06mentioned that I've been talking about
1050. 33:07for the last few minutes you know I want
1051. 33:08to ask you about that you know after
  1052. 33:09four indictments 91 criminal charges
1053. 33:12don't you think it would behoove the
  1054. 33:13Republican party to move
  1055. 33:15on from Donald Trump
1056. 33:17I think that the voters and the primary
1057. 33:20will make that decision what do you
1058. 33:22think though I have no problem with with
1059. 33:24uh I thought Donald Trump did an
  1060. 33:25extraordinary job as president
1061. 33:26especially for black people best economy
1062. 33:28ever he did something about the borders
1063. 33:30the people that are most hurt because of
1064. 33:32poorest borders are black people living
1065. 33:33in the inner city because most of the
1066. 33:35illegal aliens have little or no
1067. 33:37education they end up living in the
1068. 33:38inner city they compete against black
1069. 33:40people with high school or less for jobs
  1070. 33:41they're about a million fewer black
1071. 33:43people working than who would otherwise
1072. 33:45be working if it weren't for illegal
1073. 33:46alien labor and illegal alien labor
1074. 33:48according to a study done by the Civil
1075. 33:50Rights Commission puts downward pressure
1076. 33:51to the tune of almost two thousand
1077. 33:53dollars per year in the salaries of
1078. 33:54black people living in the inner city
1079. 33:55and Donald Trump gave us the most secure
1080. 33:57border we ever had he also supported
1081. 33:59school choice he also did the first step
  1082. 34:01act which allowed about 5 000 mostly
1083. 34:04black men with long criminal uh
  1084. 34:06sentences non-violent to have their
  1085. 34:07sentences reduced an average of 70
1086. 34:09months per uh he pardoned Jack Johnson
1087. 34:11the first black heavyweight champion
1088. 34:12even Barack Obama didn't do that yeah he
1089. 34:14did an extraordinary job for black
  1090. 34:15people I think you're innocent until
  1091. 34:16approving guilty but I feel like
  1092. 34:18President Biden had four indictments 91
1093. 34:21criminal charges uh you know President
  1094. 34:22Obama have won diamonds 91 criminal
1095. 34:24charges y'all will be telling them that
1096. 34:25they need to step aside and they
1097. 34:26shouldn't be running for president well
1098. 34:27I wouldn't vote for Barack Obama or for
1099. 34:30Joe Biden in any case no matter where
1100. 34:31they had indictments or no indictments I
1101. 34:33don't vote for tax men regulate liberals
  1102. 34:35um you're a conservative right obviously
1103. 34:37no question what initially made you
  1104. 34:38gravitate towards being a conservative I
1105. 34:41think it was my father my father was a
1106. 34:42lifelong Republican and my father always
1107. 34:44told my brothers and me the following
1108. 34:46Democrats want to give you something for
1109. 34:47nothing I'm trying to get something for
1110. 34:49nothing you almost always getting
1111. 34:50nothing for something and my dad I told
1112. 34:52you about his background he told my
1113. 34:54brothers and me that hard work wins you
1114. 34:56got out of life what you put into it you
1115. 34:57cannot control the outcome Larry but you
1116. 34:59are 100 in control of the effort before
1117. 35:01you moan or groan about what somebody
1118. 35:02did or said do you go to the nearest
1119. 35:04mirror look at it and ask yourself what
1120. 35:05could I have done to change the outcome
1121. 35:06and finally Charlemagne my dad told me
1122. 35:08my brothers and me this no matter how
1123. 35:10hard you work how good you are sooner or
1124. 35:12later bad stuff is going to happen to
1125. 35:13you how you deal with those bad things
1126. 35:14will tell your mother and me if we raise
  1127. 35:16the man I wrote a book about my father's
1128. 35:18life it's called dear father Dear Son
1129. 35:19two lives eight hours it's about an
  1130. 35:21eight-hour conversation he and I had
1131. 35:23where at the beginning of the
1132. 35:24conversation I thought my dad was harsh
1133. 35:25I thought he spanked this too often we
1134. 35:28had we had a belt in those days from the
1135. 35:30south you spank kids uh and I thought my
1136. 35:33dad was way too harsh and we had an
1137. 35:35eight hour eight hour conversation and
1138. 35:36by the time we ended my dad got bigger
1139. 35:38and bigger and bigger and Larry only got
  1140. 35:39smaller and smaller and smaller I
  1141. 35:40apologized to him and it's a book that
  1142. 35:42that's changed a lot of people's lives
1143. 35:44it's called as I said your father dear
1144. 35:46son lives eight hours the paperback is
1145. 35:48called a lot like me same book but it's
1146. 35:49cheaper can you honestly say this is the
1147. 35:51Republican party that you grew up on
1148. 35:54this modern day GOP yes uh the
1149. 35:56Republican Party pretty much has always
1150. 35:58stood for low taxes low regulation uh uh
1151. 36:01Peace Truth strength not strength
1152. 36:03through peace and strong borders and
  1153. 36:04still does
1154. 36:05and and when Donald Trump is gone and he
1155. 36:07will be gone even if he gets reelected
  1156. 36:09day after he gets reelected he's a lame
1157. 36:10duck the party will still go on the
1158. 36:13principles will still go on however I do
1159. 36:14believe that uh many people in our party
1160. 36:17uh have have uh spent and spent and
1161. 36:20spent so that Ronald Reagan my favorite
1162. 36:22President when he entered the Oval
1163. 36:23Office Charlemagne uh when he left
1164. 36:25government was bigger he got bigger
1165. 36:27under George Herbert Walker Bush it got
1166. 36:28bigger under w got bigger under Donald
1167. 36:30Trump and the only way to restrain
1168. 36:32spending is with them amendment to the
  1169. 36:33Constitution to fix spending to a
1170. 36:35certain percentage of the GDP with
1171. 36:36exception for war and for natural
  1172. 36:38disaster otherwise we're going to get
1173. 36:39bigger and bigger and bigger let me use
  1174. 36:40a word unsustainable that's the word
1175. 36:42Barack Obama used to describe the
  1176. 36:44so-called entitlements unsustainable was
1177. 36:46a word that Bill Clinton used to
1178. 36:47describe them but nothing happens
1179. 36:49because if you run claiming you're going
1180. 36:50to reform Social Security or Medicare
1181. 36:52the other side is going to accuse you of
1182. 36:53not caring about the sick the poor the
1183. 36:55elderly and you are going to lose
  1184. 36:56elections that's why government gets
1185. 36:57bigger and bigger and bigger so we need
1186. 36:59a law to restrain spending otherwise
1187. 37:00it's going to get bigger and bigger and
1188. 37:01bigger and for young people like you uh
1189. 37:04these programs are not going to be there
  1190. 37:06Mr Elder I I know a lot of black
  1191. 37:09conservatives and and I I I completely
  1192. 37:11agree about the black family I don't
1193. 37:13think anybody here objects to that I'm
1194. 37:15sorry about that at all I think when you
1195. 37:17talk about ideology and then you mix in
1196. 37:19parties and then personalities it gets
1197. 37:20kind of confusing and you know you
1198. 37:23mention yourself not to moan and groan
1199. 37:25you know that as long as you work hard
1200. 37:26all is well and I think where the
1201. 37:28conflict is coming in is you did moan
1202. 37:30and groan about how the Republicans
1203. 37:31treated you you did moan and groan about
1204. 37:33Governor Newsom and uh you know asking
1205. 37:35for a recall you did not leave that up
1206. 37:37to the voters you are moaning and
1207. 37:39groaning when it comes to Donald Trump
1208. 37:40and how he's being treated so it just
  1209. 37:42seems to be a hypocrisy and I don't know
1210. 37:44if the message would land a little bit
1211. 37:46better if there was some fairness across
1212. 37:48the board on Democrats and Republicans
1213. 37:50I'm an independent by the way and I
1214. 37:52think both parties are trash and I think
1215. 37:53all of us here you know see both sides
  1216. 37:55and that's the part that's just not
1217. 37:57Landing for me there seems to be an
1218. 37:59unfairness on both sides with you well
  1219. 38:01not too surprisingly I don't agree with
1220. 38:02your analysis how is it that I did not
1221. 38:04leave the recall to the voters what do
1222. 38:05you mean by that yeah what do you you
  1223. 38:07said you said you said I didn't leave
1224. 38:08the recall to the voters no no I said
1225. 38:10you moaned and groaned about it you you
1226. 38:12said it should be recalled correct
1227. 38:15correct I said Gavin Newsom should have
  1228. 38:17been recalled yes right that's moaning
  1229. 38:19and growing well actually it's taking
  1230. 38:20advantage of what's in the California
  1231. 38:21Constitution which is when a certain
1232. 38:23percentage of Voters sign a petition to
  1233. 38:25recall a politician uh there can be a
1234. 38:27recall vote and there was one as there
1235. 38:29was in 2003 we recall the governor then
  1236. 38:31and there was in 20 20 21 when I
  1237. 38:33attempted to recall Gavin Newsom that's
1238. 38:34part of our Democratic process in
1239. 38:36California absolutely absolutely we we
1240. 38:38agree with that I'm going to your
1241. 38:39statement when you said rather than moan
1242. 38:41about it a little while ago you said
1243. 38:42rather than moan about it I'm just going
1244. 38:44to keep doing the hard work and so I'm
1245. 38:45just saying that technically is moaning
1246. 38:47about it because the government
  1247. 38:49I don't follow I don't follow exactly
  1248. 38:52what you're saying I believe it's okay
1249. 38:56one moment yeah we get it one moment
1250. 38:59you're complaining about the system and
1251. 39:01the next minute you're saying the system
1252. 39:02is is fair the next thing you're saying
  1253. 39:04is not fair so that's what I'm saying
1254. 39:05there just seems to be a double standard
1255. 39:07on you and the system not wanting to be
  1256. 39:10accountable for a system that black
1257. 39:11people are not in charge of by the way
1258. 39:13do I of not wanting to hold both sides
1259. 39:15accountable when it comes to the system
  1260. 39:17do I believe Hillary was treated
1261. 39:18differently and Joe Biden treated
1262. 39:20differently than Donald Trump is being
1263. 39:21treated yes I do is that an indictment
1264. 39:24about whether or not America is
1265. 39:25systemically racist no it is not
  1266. 39:28two different things yes if you're
1267. 39:30trying to merge the two but they're two
  1268. 39:32totally different things I agree with
  1269. 39:33you there's two different things we're
  1270. 39:34agreeing we're agreeing to two different
  1271. 39:36things we're agreeing really terrific
  1272. 39:38things we're not agreeing that there's a
  1273. 39:39systematic racism because we're not in
1274. 39:41charge of the system sir in case you
1275. 39:43okay okay all right all right can we can
1276. 39:45we black people have never been in
1277. 39:46charge of any system actually actually
1278. 39:48we have been take Baltimore no we've
1279. 39:50never been in charge may I finish anyway
1280. 39:52no tell me what Financial system are
1281. 39:53black people in charge of the Health
1282. 39:55Care system are black people in charge
1283. 39:56of what government system are black
1284. 39:58people prison system I'm about ready to
  1285. 40:01tell you I'm not talking about Mayors I
  1286. 40:03already know they're talking talking
1287. 40:04points sir I go on Fox News all the time
1288. 40:06as well so let's not let's not go there
1289. 40:08with that I said what system have we
1290. 40:09created have we implemented that we have
1291. 40:12been in charge of name one is this why
1292. 40:14you don't like talking to black women
  1293. 40:15Larry Hilda wow
1294. 40:17um Baltimore uh Freddie gray a few years
  1295. 40:20no no that's Mayors I'm not talking I
1296. 40:22said system I'm going to tell you about
1297. 40:25this system if you allow me to finish my
  1298. 40:26point I'm not talking about somebody
1299. 40:27elected and doing a job sir I asked what
1300. 40:29system did we create what Finance okay
1301. 40:31let's talk about the system of one of
1302. 40:33the largest thank you when the systems
1303. 40:35of one of the largest uh cities in
1304. 40:36America Baltimore uh Freddie gray died
1305. 40:39in police custody a few years ago uh the
1306. 40:41mayor was black the head of the police
1307. 40:44department was black number two it's not
1308. 40:46in charge of the system but go ahead
1309. 40:47number two person in charge of the
1310. 40:49police department was black all all the
1311. 40:52city council Democrats majority black
1312. 40:54still not in charge of the system wow
1313. 40:57six officers charged three of them were
1314. 41:00black a judge before whom two of the
1315. 41:01officers tried their case found him not
1316. 41:03guilty was black still not in charge the
1317. 41:06city uh uh intended of public schools
1318. 41:11was black the county superintendent of
  1319. 41:12public schools is black
1320. 41:14um the Attorney General at the time
1321. 41:16Loretta Lynch is black as was the
1322. 41:18president of the United States was black
1323. 41:19and yet still not in charge of the
  1324. 41:21system
1325. 41:22well Wanda Sykes said when when uh when
1326. 41:26Barack Obama got elected how are you
1327. 41:27gonna complain about the man when you
1328. 41:29are the man now from the president to
1329. 41:31the attorney general to the state
1330. 41:32attorney uh to the mayor to the head of
1331. 41:34the police department uh to the
1332. 41:36commissions of the schools in the city
1333. 41:38and in the county uh to the majority of
1334. 41:40City Council in that City all of them
1335. 41:42are black and you're still saying that
1336. 41:44we don't run anything no no I said who
  1337. 41:47created the system I didn't say we
  1338. 41:48didn't run anything I I challenge a lot
1339. 41:50of those black leaders by the way I said
1340. 41:52who when we talk about the system who
1341. 41:54what black people have been in charge of
  1342. 41:56any system I'm not talking about a
  1343. 41:57position I'm not talking about a mayor
  1344. 41:59you know you're basically saying that
1345. 42:01they're black faces that are still in no
  1346. 42:03probation
  1347. 42:04so you're a black face in a position in
  1348. 42:07the conservative movement they're just
1349. 42:09the same they're just on the other side
1350. 42:10I'm talking about so then so so then so
1351. 42:12then when Martin Luther King said in
  1352. 42:141966 I believe there could be a black
1353. 42:15president uh in about 40 years time then
  1354. 42:18it really doesn't matter if there's one
  1355. 42:19or Israel nothing changes
  1356. 42:27realize they're correct wow
  1357. 42:31an individual killed him
1358. 42:33right that was also a part of crow Hotel
1359. 42:36through the system correct not correct
1360. 42:39not correct FBI didn't have anything to
1361. 42:43do with it the CIA didn't have anything
1362. 42:44to do with it was definitely on Martin's
  1363. 42:46ass like I didn't say he wasn't uh
1364. 42:49Robert Kennedy is the one that approved
1365. 42:51the wiretaps but to say that the FBI
  1366. 42:52killed him I mean what's your evidence
1367. 42:55of that oh no that's pretty serious
1368. 42:57charge yeah yeah pretty serious charge
  1369. 42:59serious charges yeah
1370. 43:04uh it is to allow states to set up
1371. 43:07commissions of retired judges and
1372. 43:09retired DA's to get rid of these soft on
1373. 43:11crime George Soros back DA's that are
1374. 43:13allowing a bunch of bad people on the
1375. 43:15streets or not charging bad people to
1376. 43:16the full extent of the law and the
1377. 43:18people that by and large are hurt by
1378. 43:19these people are the very black and
1379. 43:21brown people living in the Inner City
  1380. 43:23um
  1381. 43:24there's a Larry krasner is a George
  1382. 43:28Soros back D.A in Philadelphia he's been
1383. 43:30impeached but this Philadelphia state
1384. 43:32senate wouldn't even take up the case
1385. 43:33we've had two attempts to repeal a soft
  1386. 43:35on crime D.A in L.A county and it hasn't
1387. 43:39gone through yet we've got a bunch of in
1388. 43:42my opinion this guy Alvin Bragg he ran
1389. 43:44promising to get Donald Trump and when
1390. 43:46he got in he said the evidence wasn't
1391. 43:47there and then one of the former DA's
  1392. 43:49writes a book accuses a brag of giving
1393. 43:51Donald Trump a pass and all of a sudden
1394. 43:53he brings counts against Donald Trump I
1395. 43:55think it's unfair do you think members
1396. 43:57of your party are leaning toward fascism
1397. 44:02Define fascism I mean the rejection of
1398. 44:04democracy the rule of law and equal
1399. 44:06rights under the law in favor of a
1400. 44:07strong man Donald Trump who interprets
  1401. 44:09the popular will
  1402. 44:11uh no I don't uh there was a long
1403. 44:13article about Barack Obama by one of my
1404. 44:16mentors his name is Thomas Soul he's an
  1405. 44:18economist he's a black conservative he's
1406. 44:20still alive right 95 years old and he
1407. 44:22wrote a piece in which he said a lot of
1408. 44:24people call people like Barack Obama
  1409. 44:26socialist socialism is government
1410. 44:28ownership of the means of production
1411. 44:29fascism is when the government allows
1412. 44:32you to own me into production but
1413. 44:34government tells you what to do and he
1414. 44:35said frankly technically people like
1415. 44:37Barack Obama are fascists that is to say
1416. 44:39these are left wound people telling you
1417. 44:41how to run your business telling you
1418. 44:42what to sell telling you what you can't
1419. 44:44sell for example in California we have a
1420. 44:46governor named Gavin Newsom who recently
1421. 44:48said by the year 2035 no more sailed of
1422. 44:51new gas powered cars how dare you uh
1423. 44:54most people don't want an EV they like
  1424. 44:56their own gasoline-powered cars but now
  1425. 44:58you're telling car dealership they can't
1426. 44:59even sell them what do you call that but
1427. 45:01what about you know uh when they you
1428. 45:03tell women what to do with their bodies
1429. 45:05well that is a moral issue I happen to
  1430. 45:07be pro-life and I believe that uh uh
  1431. 45:10that abortion is a sin that's not
1432. 45:13telling women what to do with their body
1433. 45:14that's expressing my opinion about
1434. 45:15whether or not it is right or it is
1435. 45:17wrong for example there is a guy right
1436. 45:19now behind bars in Philadelphia named Dr
1437. 45:21Kermit Gosnell he is an abortion doctor
  1438. 45:24who performed late-term abortions when I
1439. 45:26ask people who consider my position to
1440. 45:28be extreme I ask him tell me at what
1441. 45:30point do you believe pregnancy has gone
1442. 45:31so far that to terminate The Unborn
1443. 45:33would be would be homicide and almost
1444. 45:35nobody will give you an answer so in
  1445. 45:37other words what you're really telling
1446. 45:39me then is this guy Dr Kermit Gosnell
  1447. 45:41should be set free he's a political
1448. 45:43prisoner he was persecuted unfairly if
1449. 45:45you want if you won't tell me when you
1450. 45:46think at what point of pregnancy cannot
  1451. 45:48be terminated unless it's less unless
1452. 45:50it's homicide uh then to me you're
1453. 45:52essentially allowing women to to Kill
1454. 45:55The Unborn no matter how old that unborn
  1455. 45:56is and I and I think that's wrong the
1456. 45:59other thing strongly real quickly on
  1457. 46:00this issue
1458. 46:01it'd be one thing if the pro-life
1459. 46:03Community was not talking to talk and
1460. 46:04walking the walk but there are literally
1461. 46:06thousands of pregnancy centers All Over
  1462. 46:08America whether it's funding for
1463. 46:10adoption services funding for housing
1464. 46:12funding for Education funding for job
1465. 46:14training to let women know they have
1466. 46:17Alternatives and every state will decide
  1467. 46:19this the government shouldn't be passing
1468. 46:20some sort of law one way or the other
  1469. 46:22regarding abortion every State's going
1470. 46:24to decide that I'm in California which
1471. 46:25is a deep blue State there have been two
  1472. 46:27initiatives to restrict abortion I voted
1473. 46:29in favor of them I was overwhelmingly
1474. 46:30defeated and when abortion has been put
1475. 46:32on the ballot in recent years other
1476. 46:34people that wanted abortion restrictions
1477. 46:35have lost the American people pretty
  1478. 46:37much have said first-term abortions they
  1479. 46:39want them to be legal late-term
1480. 46:40abortions they don't want them to be
1481. 46:42legal I happen to disagree with that but
1482. 46:43I'm willing to live in a society that
  1483. 46:45has a different point of view than I
1484. 46:46have on this issue and you have a real
  1485. 46:47democracy if you're taking away people's
  1486. 46:49Power of Choice
  1487. 46:51if you're taking away people's power to
1488. 46:53choose and not giving them any options
1489. 46:55well if you consider it to be if you
1490. 46:56considered to be a crime uh that
1491. 46:58abortion is a sin in my opinion not
1492. 47:00taking people the right to choose you're
  1493. 47:02making a moral statement about what's
  1494. 47:03right and what's wrong I mean there's a
1495. 47:04lot of sins though sex before marriage
1496. 47:06is a sin I'm sure you did some of that
1497. 47:08as for the sins of my past either the
1498. 47:10Lord has forgiven me or the statute of
  1499. 47:12limitations have run out I'm making a
1500. 47:14joke about that a lot of people of
  1501. 47:16course make mistakes yes
1502. 47:18okay and I think that people uh should
1503. 47:20deal with the consequences of their
1504. 47:22actions and and if you let people know
1505. 47:24their consequences to their actions it
1506. 47:26will inform their actions and make them
1507. 47:27behave more responsibly anytime you
  1508. 47:29allow bad behavior to continue you're
1509. 47:31going to get more bad behavior whether
1510. 47:32that's so how does that apply to
1511. 47:33president Trump then because you said
  1512. 47:35that was a two-tier system that because
  1513. 47:37I don't I don't believe I don't believe
1514. 47:39Donald Trump you don't think you need
  1515. 47:40anything I don't think he did anything
  1516. 47:41wrong no I don't I believe that he
1517. 47:43complained about the election the same
1518. 47:44way Hillary did Hillary for four years
  1519. 47:46referred to the 2016 elections having
1520. 47:48been stolen her word not mine she called
1521. 47:50Donald Trump illegitimate her word not
  1522. 47:52mine uh Jay Johnson who's Obama's DHS
1523. 47:54secretary testified under oath that not
1524. 47:57a single vote tally was changed by the
1525. 47:59Russians they tried but they failed to
  1526. 48:00change a single vote tally 66 percent of
1527. 48:02Democrats believe the Russians change
1528. 48:04votalis to get Donald Trump elected even
1529. 48:07though Jay Johnson testified underworld
  1530. 48:08not a single one with change that's the
1531. 48:10damage that people like Hillary and
1532. 48:12former President Jimmy Carter uh and
1533. 48:14Stacy Abrams and Hakeem Jeffries and
1534. 48:16others have said for years referring to
  1535. 48:18Donald Trump it's illegitimate a greater
  1536. 48:20percentage of Democrats believe 2016 was
1537. 48:21stolen then we feel that way about 2020
1538. 48:24but yet nobody calls him election
1539. 48:25deniers and nobody accuses him of
  1540. 48:27undermining our Republic and they're not
  1541. 48:28undermining our Republic they're
1542. 48:29complaining about an election you have a
  1543. 48:31right to do so
1544. 48:32I know I know you probably got to go uh
  1545. 48:34have you ever heard of the term a [ __ ]
  1546. 48:36wake up call no
1547. 48:38it is an incident where a person of
1548. 48:40color forgets that they are of color and
1549. 48:42are reminded rather brutally by an
  1550. 48:44unexpected Act of racism
  1551. 48:48you think well I'm acutely aware
  1552. 48:51Charlemagne that I'm a black person just
1553. 48:53as you are a black person and when uh
1554. 48:55Joe Biden insulted you by saying you
1555. 48:58ain't really black we don't know whether
1556. 48:59or not you want to vote for me or vote
1557. 49:00for Donald Trump uh the team see me that
  1558. 49:02should have been a wake-up call on your
1559. 49:03part how dare this guy come in here and
1560. 49:05insult you a black man and tell you you
1561. 49:07got to think a certain kind of way I'm
1562. 49:08amazed that you weren't mad about that
1563. 49:11um I'm not gonna say that it upset me
1564. 49:13it's like I'm not letting you upset me
  1565. 49:14you know I mean I don't tend to get
1566. 49:15upset over things like that but what I
1567. 49:16did say well you just not talk about a
  1568. 49:18[ __ ] wake-up call and it seemed to me
  1569. 49:19that that should have been a wake-up
1570. 49:20call on your part to have a white guy
1571. 49:22come in here who also said by the way uh
  1572. 49:25uh about Mitt Romney
1573. 49:27um uh because he didn't want to put more
1574. 49:30regulations on Wall Street gonna put
1575. 49:31y'all back in Chains and Joe Biden has
1576. 49:33lied for decades about the Civil Rights
1577. 49:35record claiming that he desegregated
1578. 49:37movie theaters and restaurants and
  1579. 49:38Wilmington Delaware when he didn't any
1580. 49:40didn't do any of that he lied and said
1581. 49:42that he tried to visit Nelson Mandela
1582. 49:43during apartheid South Africa he did not
1583. 49:45and he came in here and told you you
1584. 49:47weren't even black unless you think a
1585. 49:48certain kind of way it seemed to me that
  1586. 49:50should have been a [ __ ] wake-up call
  1587. 49:51for you but it wasn't apparently I mean
  1588. 49:52you know for the record I'm not a
  1589. 49:53Democrat or Republican I didn't say you
  1590. 49:55were I think I don't know what you are I
1591. 49:57never even asked you about your party
1592. 49:58affiliation yeah I'm just saying but you
1593. 50:00are black and to have a white guy come
1594. 50:02in here and tell you you have to say
1595. 50:03think a certain kind of way otherwise
  1596. 50:04you quote ain't black wow how should I
1597. 50:06reply to him you think
1598. 50:08what I just now said how dare you insult
  1599. 50:10me and tell me I I think as a human
  1600. 50:12being let alone as a black person I
1601. 50:13don't tell you how to thank Joe Biden
1602. 50:15how dare you come in here and tell me
  1603. 50:16how I I should think I'm going to vote
1604. 50:18for Donald Trump if I want to vote for
1605. 50:19Donald Trump and if I want to vote for
1606. 50:21Donald Trump it does not make me not
1607. 50:22black 20 of black people black men as I
  1608. 50:25said I voted for Donald Trump in 2020
1609. 50:27are they not black now so only 80 of
1610. 50:29black people black men walking around
1611. 50:31are really black 20 or not because they
1612. 50:33voted for Donald Trump how insulting is
1613. 50:34that how condescending is that um
  1614. 50:37I I mean you probably right but I didn't
1615. 50:39take it in that way well I did as I said
1616. 50:41to him in that moment you know it's just
1617. 50:42about me wanting something for my people
1618. 50:44and I want to know what is he going to
1619. 50:45do for my people and not only for my
1620. 50:47people now how are you going to atone
1621. 50:48for the things you've done to my people
1622. 50:50right that's it right this is a guy uh
1623. 50:52Joe Biden who when he first got into the
1624. 50:54Senate hung out with segregationists
1625. 50:55talked about how well he got along with
  1626. 50:57him I talked about how he didn't want
1627. 50:59integration because of a jungle uh this
1628. 51:01guy has made all sorts of insulting
1629. 51:02things to black people and his policies
1630. 51:04right now are hurting black people
1631. 51:05inflation hurts the people at the bottom
1632. 51:07more than anything else letting a bunch
1633. 51:09of illegal aliens into the Border or
1634. 51:10hurting black people more than anybody
1635. 51:11else as I said earlier he supports
1636. 51:14oppose a School of Choice when he has
1637. 51:15his own kids in private school and we
1638. 51:17lost a year almost two years of
  1639. 51:19in-school education in California
1640. 51:20because of covet that he supported I
1641. 51:23mean this guy has done monstrous things
1642. 51:24to black people and then for him to come
1643. 51:26in here and tell you how you ought to
1644. 51:27think of the black person it blew my
  1645. 51:29mind as a person objectively who doesn't
1646. 51:31care about either the party when I just
1647. 51:32take a step back and I just look at what
  1648. 51:34everything that's happening I see one
1649. 51:36party that theme still committed to
  1650. 51:38democracy somewhat and one party who's
  1651. 51:41headed fast towards fascism
1652. 51:43that's just my personal opinion so who
1653. 51:45do you think I would vote for well well
  1654. 51:47let's let's talk let's talk about
  1655. 51:48fascism since I assume you're talking
1656. 51:50about uh election denying uh in 2000
1657. 51:53when George W bush won the election over
1658. 51:56Al Gore uh the Democrats the first week
1659. 51:58of of January 2001 tried to overturn the
  1660. 52:01results in Florida
  1661. 52:03uh 2004 George W bush gets reelected uh
1662. 52:06Democrats including Benny Thompson the
1663. 52:08chair of the January 6 committee Jamie
  1664. 52:10Raskin a member of the January 6
  1665. 52:11committee joined with 28 other house
1666. 52:13Democrats and Senator Barbara Box would
1667. 52:15overturn the results in Ohio claiming
1668. 52:17without any evidence the Debo voting
1669. 52:19machine had been hacked uh 2016 January
  1670. 52:2220 January 2017 Democrats challenged
1671. 52:25more States uh trying to get the
1672. 52:27election overturned that elected Donald
1673. 52:29Trump then Donald Trump challenged the
1674. 52:31first week of January in 2021. nobody
1675. 52:33accused them of undermining our Republic
1676. 52:35nobody accused them of being fascist
1677. 52:36they exercise whatever means they could
1678. 52:39to try to win the election I want to
1679. 52:41remind you that Hillary Clinton advised
1680. 52:43Joe Biden during the 2020 election if it
1681. 52:46is a close election quote do not concede
1682. 52:48under any circumstances close quote
1683. 52:50Donald Trump used whatever legal means
1684. 52:52he could advancing some novel legal
1685. 52:55theories to try to stay in office and he
  1686. 52:57failed but I don't blame him for trying
1687. 52:59yeah but it's not just election denying
1688. 53:01it's the disdain the women in fear of
  1689. 53:03non-standard gender identities and
1690. 53:04sexual orientation disdain for the
1691. 53:06galvanizing of popular rage against
  1692. 53:08cultural Elites it's nationalism based
1693. 53:10on dominance Superior racing historic
  1694. 53:12Bloodlines like there's a lot of things
1695. 53:13that Republicans are doing well what
1696. 53:15about what about uh what about uh Joe
1697. 53:17Biden going to Howard University as he
  1698. 53:19did recently giving a commencement
1699. 53:20speech Charlemagne and he said the
1700. 53:21number one threat to the Homeland was
  1701. 53:23white supremacy really the anti-defense
  1702. 53:26the Anti-Defamation League keeps track
1703. 53:28of how many people are killed by
1704. 53:29extremists no matter the race of the
1705. 53:30extremists every year last year there
  1706. 53:32were 25. as I said in 2020 there are 11
1707. 53:35000 blacks who were murdered almost all
1708. 53:37murdered by other people not murdered by
  1709. 53:39white extremists it's a lie to say white
1710. 53:40extremists is a big problem in America
1711. 53:42it's a lie it's what Democrats do to get
  1712. 53:44black people angry it's what Democrats
  1713. 53:47fine uh I don't I don't agree with that
1714. 53:50the number one threat to the Homeland is
1715. 53:52a large number of people who are engaged
1716. 53:54in criminal activity uh and what
1717. 53:56Democrats do is tell black people racism
1718. 53:58racist and racism they tried out David
1719. 54:00Duke or some other effect simile every
1720. 54:02four years to tell black people vote for
1721. 54:04us because after all we're the party of
1722. 54:06racial justice social justice inequity
1723. 54:08and these nationally people over there
1724. 54:09these Republicans are the party of Jim
1725. 54:12Crow and slavery even though it was the
1726. 54:13Democratic party that was a party of Jim
1727. 54:15Crow and slavery so why should black
1728. 54:16people rock with the GOP then like what
  1729. 54:19are the reasons economics
1730. 54:21uh I had Tavis Smiley and Cornell West
1731. 54:23on my radio show one Charlemagne
1732. 54:26and I told Tavis and and Cornell West
1733. 54:28that under Ronald Reagan black adult
1734. 54:30unemployment fell faster than white
  1735. 54:31adult unemployment black Hispanic
1736. 54:33unemployment fell faster than did white
  1737. 54:35unemployment black teenage unemployment
1738. 54:37fell faster than did white a teenage
  1739. 54:39unemployment black businesses were
1740. 54:40created at a rate faster uh their
1741. 54:42revenues grew at a rate faster and they
1742. 54:43both told me that I was wrong and that
1743. 54:45they would have the data on my desk by
1744. 54:46Monday that was 15 years ago I know the
1745. 54:49mail is slow but it seems to me they
1746. 54:50should have given it to me by now again
1747. 54:52Donald Trump resided over the best
1748. 54:54economy ever for black people lowest
1749. 54:56unemployment and it seems to me the
1750. 54:59number one reason that most people vote
1751. 55:00is because of the economy we have had
  1752. 55:0240-year historic high in inflation we've
1753. 55:05had gas prices that are now about 40
1754. 55:06percent more than what they were when uh
1755. 55:09Joe Biden came into office and we have
1756. 55:10about seven million illegal aliens in
1757. 55:13our country and the bulk of the
1758. 55:15suffering because of these illegal
1759. 55:17aliens will be borne by black people
1760. 55:18living in the inner city those are those
1761. 55:20are three reasons alone not not to vote
1762. 55:22for the Democratic party and to vote for
1763. 55:24Republican party and by the way I'm not
  1764. 55:25voting for a fishing buddy it's not
1765. 55:26because I like Trump or like him
  1766. 55:28personally I'm voting for policies and I
1767. 55:30don't really care whether or not uh his
1768. 55:32his personality offends people and he
1769. 55:34does bad tweets maybe it might be better
1770. 55:36for our society if he were more polite I
  1771. 55:39don't know I don't care I'm not voting
  1772. 55:40for a phishing buddy I'm voting for
1773. 55:41somebody to keep taxes low keep
1774. 55:43regulations low uh to secure the borders
1775. 55:45and keep us out of unnecessary Wars
1776. 55:46would it be fun to have money in the
1777. 55:48fastest country though to be black and
1778. 55:49have money in the fastest country
  1779. 55:51I don't agree this is a fascist country
1780. 55:54it's always better to have money than
1781. 55:56not to have money um
1782. 55:58all right anything else says
  1783. 56:00well I just just a simple question have
1784. 56:02the Republicans done anything uh that
1785. 56:04you disagree with just out of curiosity
1786. 56:06they spend too much uh I think taxes are
1787. 56:08still too high uh I think that there are
1788. 56:12a lot of Republicans that support things
1789. 56:13like minimum wages and by the way Milton
1790. 56:15Friedman one of my favorite economists
1791. 56:17said the minimum wage is perhaps the
1792. 56:18most anti-black law in the statute books
1793. 56:20close quote at one time a black teenager
1794. 56:22was more likely to have a job than a
1795. 56:24white teenager until the minimum wage
1796. 56:25came along and kicked it up and up and
1797. 56:27up so there are policies at the
1798. 56:28Republican Party supports unlike minimum
1799. 56:31wage some of them do that I don't like
1800. 56:32also also kinds of Licensing unnecessary
1801. 56:36licensing I was at an Apple Store a few
1802. 56:38years ago and this black woman waited on
1803. 56:40me and she was very sharp technically
1804. 56:41I'm not very technically sharp and I was
1805. 56:43very impressed and I said have you
1806. 56:44always been technically sharp she goes
  1807. 56:45well I'm not really I I'm just here
  1808. 56:47because I want to uh
1809. 56:50earn enough money to get a license to
1810. 56:51cut hair I said black hair she said yes
1811. 56:53I said you don't know how to cut that
1812. 56:55black hair already I have black barbers
1813. 56:57in my family everybody learned how to
1814. 56:58cut hair on their own she said well in
1815. 57:00California you have to have a license uh
1816. 57:02to get uh if they have a a license to
1817. 57:05get open up a shop to cut hair that's
1818. 57:07how much does it cost she said five
1819. 57:08thousand dollars I said you need to get
1820. 57:10a five thousand dollar license to learn
1821. 57:12how to do something you already know how
1822. 57:13to do what is that so a lot of the rules
  1823. 57:15and regulations
1824. 57:20the system applies to both blacks and
1825. 57:22whites too but fair enough those systems
1826. 57:25ought to be struck down uh and uh so
1827. 57:27there are lots of things Republicans do
1828. 57:28that I don't know you know that you know
1829. 57:30they have to train how to learn with
1830. 57:32diseases and to make sure your clippers
1831. 57:33are clean and make sure certain things
1832. 57:35that you have to follow certain
1833. 57:36protocols so that you can be a barber so
1834. 57:38that you can make sure that the
  1835. 57:40community's safe when you're doing these
1836. 57:41these protocols well if if there weren't
  1837. 57:44government protocols there'd be other
  1838. 57:46protocols for example there's something
  1839. 57:48called the consumer reports uh that's
1840. 57:50not government and it comes out and it
1841. 57:52talks about cars and what cars are good
1842. 57:54cars are safe if Government didn't do
1843. 57:56this kind of thing entrepreneurs would
1844. 57:57step in and they would have licensing so
1845. 57:59there'd be a little sticker on the
1846. 58:01window when you go to a barber shop and
1847. 58:02they would say I've been approved by
  1848. 58:04so-and-so licensing board or
  1849. 58:05organization some of it's [ __ ] 5000
1850. 58:07is too much though there are there are
1851. 58:09all sorts of things that we would do if
1852. 58:10the government was not doing them do you
1853. 58:12have a black bubble yeah I do oh okay
  1854. 58:14just making sure actually actually I
  1855. 58:15have a black barber for 25 5 30 years he
1856. 58:18got cancer and now the person that owns
1857. 58:21a shop who is Latina cuts my hair okay I
1858. 58:23do want to ask you one final question
1859. 58:24when did you when do you think systemic
1860. 58:26racism ended since you said it don't
1861. 58:28exist anymore when did it end um I can't
1862. 58:30come up with a specific time but uh
1863. 58:32civil rights Civil Rights Act of 1964 uh
1864. 58:36Brown versus Board of Education the
1865. 58:37loving versus Virginia act that struck
  1866. 58:39down uh race mixing you couldn't for 13
  1867. 58:43states you couldn't marry a white woman
1868. 58:46um again I think that when Barack Obama
1869. 58:48got elected that was a big deal uh when
1870. 58:50Obama got elected this is really
1871. 58:52important he got elected with a little
  1872. 58:54more than 52 of the vote
1873. 58:56he walks into the Oval Office the third
1874. 58:57week of January he had a 70 approval how
1875. 59:00can that be how can 15 all of a sudden
1876. 59:02support this man it wasn't because they
1877. 59:04wanted capital gains taxes raised which
1878. 59:06Obama promised to do it wasn't because
1879. 59:07of Obamacare which Obama promised to do
1880. 59:09is because many Americans said at the
1881. 59:11very least he'll stop the nonsense that
1882. 59:13America remains systemically racist and
1883. 59:15for eight years in my humble opinion he
1884. 59:17played race card after race card after
1885. 59:19race card so when he entered the Oval
1886. 59:21Office both blacks and whites thought
1887. 59:22race relations were getting would get
1888. 59:24better when he left both blacks and
1889. 59:25wives thought they got worse why because
1890. 59:27he did things like the Cambridge Police
  1891. 59:29acted stupidly when they didn't if I had
1892. 59:31a son he looked like Trayvon when what
1893. 59:33happened to Trayvon had nothing to do
1894. 59:34with his race he embraced black lives
1895. 59:36matter uh he invited Al Sharpton in the
1896. 59:38White House over 70 times uh he said
1897. 59:41that racism is in America's DNA he said
1898. 59:43all sorts of things so that when he left
1899. 59:45both blacks and whites thought relations
  1900. 59:46race relations got worse
1901. 59:48this is where the and we can just agree
  1902. 59:51to disagree because you're mixing race
1903. 59:52relations and voters what voters decided
1904. 59:55to do who might just be very good people
1905. 59:57that decided to elect a black man
  1906. 59:59confusing with institutional system
1907. 1:00:01racism and those are just two totally
1908. 1:00:04different things and it's okay if we
  1909. 1:00:05just agree to disagree
  1910. 1:00:06um you know we're I'm talking about
1911. 1:00:07structures not what voters did or you
1912. 1:00:10know voters wanted to see better race
  1913. 1:00:11relations we're talking about structures
  1914. 1:00:13the same structures that you've
1915. 1:00:14referenced several times that have also
1916. 1:00:16spited you so Joe Biden for example when
1917. 1:00:19Georgia reformed his law said it was
1918. 1:00:21worse than Jim Crow it's Jim Eagle more
1919. 1:00:23blacks voted in Georgia than ever before
1920. 1:00:25the percentage of blacks increased uh if
1921. 1:00:28the structure how is it that the
1922. 1:00:29structure did not stop black people from
  1923. 1:00:30voting in Georgia
1924. 1:00:32well I'm not talking about voting sir
1925. 1:00:34I'm talking about it let just just to be
1926. 1:00:36fair I think Joe Biden and what Joe
1927. 1:00:38bideners did to African Americans
1928. 1:00:39particularly with the War on Drugs was
1929. 1:00:41one of the worst things that actually
1930. 1:00:42happened to black people just to put
1931. 1:00:44that on the record he he too was a part
1932. 1:00:45of that system that I'm talking about
1933. 1:00:46Democrats as well I just try to stay
1934. 1:00:49balanced to say that that same system
1935. 1:00:50goes applies on both sides Democrats and
  1936. 1:00:53Republicans helped with mass
1937. 1:00:54incarceration Joe Joe uh Biden LED it
1938. 1:00:57wrote it so so we have no problem or I
1939. 1:00:59have no problem uh condemning him as a
  1940. 1:01:02Democrat for what he's done I'm just
  1941. 1:01:03talking about institutions versus
1942. 1:01:06relations are just two totally different
1943. 1:01:07things and that's just where we you know
1944. 1:01:09just disagree with that and that's okay
1945. 1:01:11well we didn't really get into mass
1946. 1:01:12incarceration but most people who are
1947. 1:01:14behind bars or behind bars because they
  1948. 1:01:15committed a violent crime against
1949. 1:01:16somebody else and often the black people
1950. 1:01:18who are behind bars committed to
1951. 1:01:19violence crime against another black
1952. 1:01:21person uh well when I'm talking about
  1953. 1:01:23mass incarceration I'm not talking about
  1954. 1:01:24violent crimes I'm talking about
1955. 1:01:25non-violent crimes particularly the War
  1956. 1:01:27on Drugs I was very clear I I I agree I
  1957. 1:01:30agree I agree with you that that I
1958. 1:01:32believe that the drug problem should be
1959. 1:01:34dealt with as a health problem rather
1960. 1:01:35than a criminal justice problem but most
1961. 1:01:36people are not behind bars for using
  1962. 1:01:38drugs or for dealing drugs they're
  1963. 1:01:40behind bars for having committed a
1964. 1:01:41violent act against another person sure
  1965. 1:01:43but that wasn't what I was talking about
1966. 1:01:44I was very clear when I talked about Joe
1967. 1:01:45Biden writing the crime Bill and mass
  1968. 1:01:47incarceration when we're on drugs to
  1969. 1:01:49non-violent offenders so that's a
  1970. 1:01:51different conversation you're weaving
1971. 1:01:52the two together so we just just have a
1972. 1:01:55disagreement on institutions versus race
1973. 1:01:57relations and that's okay well well in
1974. 1:01:59order for you to go go to jail you have
1975. 1:02:01to commit a crime if you walk down the
1976. 1:02:02street not always when you're black in
  1977. 1:02:05America
1978. 1:02:05well where are the class action lawsuits
1979. 1:02:07Charlemagne we have all these black
1980. 1:02:08lawyers many black people have gone to
1981. 1:02:11law school where are the class action
1982. 1:02:13lawsuits uh claiming that a bunch of
1983. 1:02:15people are behind bars illegally
1984. 1:02:17wrongfully where are they so you think
  1985. 1:02:19everybody that's behind I didn't say
  1986. 1:02:20that I didn't say that why don't you
1987. 1:02:22answer my question where are the class
1988. 1:02:23action lawsuits oh you gotta need money
1989. 1:02:25to do classes you have you have you've
  1990. 1:02:27had a you've had a black Attorney
1991. 1:02:28General Eric Holder or you had
  1992. 1:02:30back-to-back black Attorneys General
1993. 1:02:31Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch why didn't
1994. 1:02:33they release a whole bunch of people who
  1995. 1:02:36are illegally Behind Bars why didn't
  1996. 1:02:37they do that yeah
1997. 1:02:39I criticized them as well one on record
1998. 1:02:41because actually you're right uh he lied
1999. 1:02:43and said that he was going to fix the
2000. 1:02:44crack cocaine disparaging so I went on
2001. 1:02:46record you're right and guess what guess
2002. 1:02:48what he works for the system so he's
2003. 1:02:50just a black face that works for the
2004. 1:02:51system at the time so again we just
2005. 1:02:53disagree on systems and institutions
2006. 1:02:55versus Black Faces in high places well
2007. 1:02:57the disparity has been has been
2008. 1:02:58rectified uh now you go to jail for
2009. 1:03:00dealing powder as you do as you do for
2010. 1:03:03dealing crack and at one time there was
  2011. 1:03:04a distance
2012. 1:03:05ratio is not the same
2013. 1:03:07well because the dealers are not the
2014. 1:03:09same uh for example there are more white
2015. 1:03:11people behind bars for drunk driving
2016. 1:03:13than or black people there are certain
  2017. 1:03:14categories
2018. 1:03:17depend on it depends on the drug more
2019. 1:03:19whites are behind bars for meth than
2020. 1:03:21than uh than blacks going all over the
2021. 1:03:22place sir we were talking about it's
2022. 1:03:24very clear you said drugs depends on the
2023. 1:03:25category of drugs it depends on the
2024. 1:03:27category of drugs more whites are
2025. 1:03:28involved in meth and blacks I gave you
2026. 1:03:30the category that I wanted to talk about
2027. 1:03:31and you start talking about drugs all
  2028. 1:03:33over the place
2029. 1:03:34okay more blacks are involved in crack
2030. 1:03:36cocaine more whites were involved in
2031. 1:03:38powder more whites were involved in mesk
2032. 1:03:40than blacks depends on the category of
2033. 1:03:43the of the drug you're talking about and
2034. 1:03:44I was talking about a very clear
  2035. 1:03:45category and I gave you I I told you
2036. 1:03:47where I just criticized the black man
2037. 1:03:48who was in charge and you skipped over
2038. 1:03:50that and went right to talking about
2039. 1:03:52drunk driving so again so sir we I have
2040. 1:03:55no problem with criticizing black
2041. 1:03:56Democrats we we do that Charlemagne does
2042. 1:03:58that all the time it's just the
2043. 1:04:00imbalance of understanding that even
2044. 1:04:01Black Faces in high places even
  2045. 1:04:03including yours and Democrats
2046. 1:04:05Republicans just being fair across the
2047. 1:04:07board that's all well that that to me
2048. 1:04:10that to me basically is no different
2049. 1:04:11than what Joe Biden just did with
2050. 1:04:13Charlemagne which is to tell me as a
  2051. 1:04:14black person I got to think a certain
  2052. 1:04:16kind of way otherwise I'm not I didn't
  2053. 1:04:17like and I didn't like that either well
  2054. 1:04:18you just did I didn't like that either
  2055. 1:04:19you just did I didn't call me a black
  2056. 1:04:21face as if I'm supposed to think a
2057. 1:04:22certain kind of ways I said faced in
  2058. 1:04:24high places I said they're everywhere
  2059. 1:04:25you're a black face you're in a high
  2060. 1:04:27place you're running for president of
  2061. 1:04:28the United States that's a high place
2062. 1:04:29you are a black face correct I said so
2063. 1:04:31there's black face in high and high
2064. 1:04:33places on both sides so it's just about
2065. 1:04:34being fair for me on both sides I've
  2066. 1:04:37mentioned I agree with that I agree with
  2067. 1:04:39that yeah I mentioned several Democrats
2068. 1:04:41that have a problem with several several
2069. 1:04:42several including Joe Biden so you don't
2070. 1:04:44have to sell us on that we get that I
  2071. 1:04:47saw that's all and black conservatives
2072. 1:04:49agree with a lot of your message Mr
  2073. 1:04:51Elder but when you're when you're not
2074. 1:04:52balanced across the board it just kind
  2075. 1:04:54of lands flat that's all who's um who's
2076. 1:04:56cocaine do you think it was in the white
  2077. 1:04:57house since we're talking about drugs I
2078. 1:04:59have no idea all I know is that it seems
2079. 1:05:01to me it's to be scary that this that
2080. 1:05:03secret service has closed the
  2081. 1:05:04investigation without identifying a
2082. 1:05:06suspect what other kind of stuff goes in
2083. 1:05:08and out of the of the White House
2084. 1:05:09without anybody knowing about it but I
  2085. 1:05:11have no idea I just think it's bizarre
2086. 1:05:13that the investigation all of a sudden
2087. 1:05:14got closed that fast and you think
2088. 1:05:15criminal charges should be bought
  2089. 1:05:16against President Biden right
2090. 1:05:18I think there certainly should be an
2091. 1:05:20investigation about the pay for play
  2092. 1:05:21stuff that we're hearing the IRS
2093. 1:05:23whistleblowers are saying that the they
2094. 1:05:25were told to stand down in their
  2095. 1:05:26investigation uh I think there's a
2096. 1:05:28double standard going on as I said
2097. 1:05:30earlier for example Donald Trump has
2098. 1:05:31been indicted for document possession
  2099. 1:05:32there is a special counsel investigating
2100. 1:05:35uh Joe Biden for document possession but
2101. 1:05:37his Defenders are saying well Joe Biden
2102. 1:05:39unlike Donald Trump turned over the
2103. 1:05:40documents readily when they were found
2104. 1:05:42out to have them and if that's the case
2105. 1:05:44why is the investigation still taking so
  2106. 1:05:45long
2107. 1:05:47um uh telemarket can support your
  2108. 1:05:49campaign Larry elder.com I need one
2109. 1:05:51dollar from forty thousand individuals

  2112. 1:05:55Charlamagne and I have been talking
2113. 1:05:56about the last several several minutes I
2114. 1:05:58can get them front and center so
