46. 1:42next time i talk to you but listen uh
47. 1:44lance armstrong in the news this week as
48. 1:46you probably know yeah what do you know
49. 1:48about that what's your take on that you
50. 1:49know i can recall uh several years ago
51. 1:51my son coming home from school asking me
52. 1:54if i ever heard about this guy named
53. 1:56lance armstrong
54. 1:58the class was discussing how wonderful
55. 2:00this guy was right and how he had beaten
56. 2:02back cancer and how he was raising money
57. 2:04for a foundation to help other people
58. 2:06beat cancer and of course i had heard of
59. 2:09armstrong and i was impressed with his
60. 2:11achievements as they were presented in
61. 2:13the media right right and but little did
62. 2:15we know about the dirty little skeletons
63. 2:18lurking in the closet right
64. 2:20you know last uh last night uh lance
65. 2:22armstrong i know you've been a busy guy
66. 2:24lately maybe you just saw it maybe you
67. 2:25did in the lance armstrong was on oprah
68. 2:27yeah i didn't see the entire programming
69. 2:29bike but i have seen clips and i've
70. 2:30heard snippets of it yeah but i have
71. 2:32been i've been on airplanes for the last
72. 2:34two or three days
73. 2:35yeah but but tell me he finally admitted
74. 2:37to the world what officials and his own
75. 2:39teammates have known all along right
76. 2:41armstrong cheated big time right right
77. 2:44oh what's even worse though is that he
78. 2:46lied and he lied and he lied and he
79. 2:49coerced his handlers and medical team to
80. 2:51lie on his behalf well not only that but
81. 2:54i understand the threatened people who
82. 2:56were who were threatening to out him
83. 2:58that he he actually threatened them
84. 3:00yeah i mean his entire career
85. 3:03all of his successes were were all the
86. 3:06result of cheating and lying and
87. 3:08coercing and threatening people like you
88. 3:10just said
89. 3:12that is who armstrong is and that will
90. 3:14be his legacy yeah you know i'm so glad
91. 3:17that evolutionists don't base their
92. 3:18entire career like that
93. 3:21you know on lies and fraud and opinions
94. 3:23i didn't mean i didn't mean to turn a
95. 3:25corner on you like that it's just
96. 3:26when you were describing his career as
97. 3:29based upon lies and frauds and hoaxes
98. 3:31and manipulation immediately i thought
99. 3:33of the evolution community but anyway go
100. 3:35ahead back to lance well it's almost
101. 3:36like you've been reading my notes here
102. 3:38because armstrong is also an atheist oh
103. 3:41no i haven't been reading your notes so
104. 3:42that's cool well that's what the atheist
105. 3:44groups all claim you know they all claim
106. 3:46him as one of their members well there
107. 3:48you go well so there you go an atheist
108. 3:51and the and the foundation to atheist
109. 3:53belief is evolution i mean it has to be
110. 3:55well that's right richard dawkins did
111. 3:57say that uh in fact i think it was with
112. 3:59ben stein's interview he said that
113. 4:01evolution is the engine which drives
114. 4:03modern atheism of course it has to be
115. 4:05because because think of it mike in ten
116. 4:07thousand six to ten thousand years of
117. 4:09human history the best that man has been
118. 4:12able to come up with if you leave god if
119. 4:14you leave an intelligent designer out of
120. 4:16the equation totally the best
121. 4:19that man has been able to come up with
122. 4:21is evolution postulation which at its
123. 4:24foundation is nothing more than
124. 4:26superstition it's called abiogenesis or
125. 4:29a spontaneous generation or
126. 4:30chemosynthesis whatever fancy name you
127. 4:32want to give it it is nothing more than
128. 4:34superstition at its foundation and
129. 4:36that's the best man has been able to
130. 4:38come up with and lance armstrong is one
131. 4:41of those right and you know the more we
132. 4:42examine the the actual science and the
133. 4:44actual evidence the more we can point to
134. 4:46the heavens and say
135. 4:48yep god did it is the most rational
136. 4:50explanation for why we're here but i
137. 4:53mean you know armstrong he's made
138. 4:54several public statements actually on
139. 4:56god and religion and essentially it all
140. 4:58boils down to this armstrong believed
141. 5:01that it probably still believes that he
142. 5:03is a good person and if there is a god
143. 5:06and this god doesn't want him then fine
144. 5:08whatever in fact in an article in the uk
145. 5:11times online uh printed saturday

147. 5:16uh he said the article says
148. 5:19his as armstrong's his stance on
149. 5:22religion is in marked contrast to his
150. 5:23wife's even more fervent catholicism
151. 5:26and the difference may have been one of
152. 5:28the factors that led to their marriage
153. 5:30breaking up
154. 5:31armstrong believes it is a pause it is
155. 5:33possible to be a good person while not
156. 5:36believing he says quote i think we all
157. 5:38have obligations to be good
158. 5:40honest hard working now
159. 5:43now of course 2004 right now of course
160. 5:46you know we all have obligations to be
161. 5:48good honest which means not lying hard
162. 5:52working which means not using drugs to
163. 5:55boost your performance right right
164. 5:57caring and compassionate he says which
165. 5:59means not threatening people who
166. 6:02know who know the truth yeah and he goes
167. 6:04on to say you have to try and it won't
168. 6:07always be easy but you try your best i
169. 6:10do not believe that because you are not
170. 6:11prepared to submit yourself to a god or
171. 6:13a higher being that when you get to the
172. 6:15end of the road you will be sent down
173. 6:17i'm not prepared to believe that but
174. 6:19yeah well yeah i'm not prepared to
175. 6:21believe that oh well then that that does
176. 6:23away with god then since he's not
177. 6:25prepared that was then
178. 6:272004 this is now right armstrong is not
179. 6:30a good person
180. 6:32he's a cheat and he's a liar right and
181. 6:34that's what we know for sure i mean what
182. 6:36else what else is there that we don't
183. 6:38know right why would god want him you're
184. 6:40right well here's the cool thing
185. 6:43he says that if if god doesn't want him
186. 6:46then fine but here's the biblical truth
187. 6:48and you know where i'm going with this
188. 6:49might god god does want him isn't that
189. 6:51isn't that neat god the bible says that
190. 6:53he he wishes that he desires that none
191. 6:55should perish but that all should come
192. 6:57to him through belief in his son jesus
193. 6:59christ and i pray that through this
194. 7:01lance will discover that there is such a
195. 7:04thing as consciousness and morality and
196. 7:06and and and absolute morality and that
197. 7:09perhaps that will be the the springboard
198. 7:11that that helps him to find god through
199. 7:13jesus christ well as you know jesus did
200. 7:15not have to come to earth except for the
201. 7:17total depravity of human we're all
202. 7:19sinners
203. 7:20right except for you and me but i mean
204. 7:22everyone else yes
205. 7:26i'm kidding i'm kidding nobody and we
206. 7:28are utterly uh incapable of being good
207. 7:32well look and lance armstrong what he's
208. 7:34done and in his life look watch this
209. 7:37mike now now just jump in here with me
210. 7:39mike but to me this is a character study
211. 7:42in atheism and and evolution because
212. 7:46what happens is
213. 7:47when that's your foundation all right
214. 7:48there's no god therefore there's no
215. 7:50absolute morality therefore there's no
216. 7:52accountability there's for there are no
217. 7:55eternal consequences therefore
218. 7:58this life is all you get therefore if i
219. 8:01want to lie cheat steal kill manipulate
220. 8:04bully harass
221. 8:07threaten in order to get ahead
222. 8:09what's wrong with that and who is
223. 8:11ultimately to stop me especially on an
224. 8:14eternal scale so so why should we be
225. 8:17surprised that someone who is an avowed
226. 8:20atheist and evolutionist would would
227. 8:22operate his life in this manner why
228. 8:24should we be surprised mike well he says
229. 8:26in 2004 that we all have a moral
230. 8:28obligation to be good yeah and then you
231. 8:31know several years later he puts on full
232. 8:34display to the world that the psalmist
233. 8:36was right the the atheist uh
234. 8:39you know none of them are capable of
235. 8:41doing good right uh or rather in fact to
236. 8:44be good at all they've all done wickedly
237. 8:47in evil right and jesus died for these
238. 8:49people but
239. 8:50but um
240. 8:52you know that is step one he when he was
241. 8:54stood and sat in front of oprah and he
242. 8:55said to the world look i'm i'm not a
243. 8:57good man i'm a cheat and i'm a liar uh
244. 9:00that's step one step two
245. 9:02is admitting that we can't fix or save
246. 9:04ourselves right jesus died for the sins
247. 9:07of the world this is true
248. 9:09but the resurrection of jesus gives us
249. 9:10power the power of the resurrection the
250. 9:12ability to be called the son of god
251. 9:14right and the resurrection is also proof
252. 9:16to the world that he is the lord and the
253. 9:18only lord and the only one able to give
254. 9:20us life right i mean he raised himself
255. 9:22from the dead right
256. 9:24and the calendars of the world were
257. 9:26changed to mark the christ event but
258. 9:27anyway go ahead and you know when he
259. 9:29walked away from the grave he opened up
260. 9:31the adoption agency so that anyone can
261. 9:33be adopted out of the family of god of
262. 9:35this world
263. 9:36jesus called satan the god of this world
264. 9:38yes he did
265. 9:39and we can be adopted out of that family
266. 9:41and into god's family without being good
267. 9:44enough without works without faults it
268. 9:46is then and only then that we are truly
269. 9:49given a new life a new name and a new
270. 9:51identity you know i don't know what
271. 9:52lance armstrong was hoping to get from
272. 9:54oprah he's hoping to get a new start a
273. 9:56fresh you know a fresh start yeah
274. 9:59with the uh with the uh you know the
275. 10:01sporting the community yeah well look
276. 10:02instead of bowing his knee to jesus he
277. 10:04bowed his knee to oprah well that's just
278. 10:06it
279. 10:07jesus you know we can only hope you know
280. 10:08it's only through adoption that we're
281. 10:10truly saved and born again and you know
282. 10:13we can only hope and pray that lance
283. 10:16armstrong will
284. 10:17you know do step number two yeah but no
285. 10:20it doesn't look like he's headed in that
286. 10:22direction but hey you know what the
287. 10:24hounds of heaven could easily chomp at
288. 10:26his field and that's right force lance
289. 10:28armstrong into the right area here
290. 10:30absolutely listen mike we got to take
