- 0:03Lance um you've spoken recently about
- 0:05the return of even basso and Floyd
- 0:08Landis um after uh their
- 0:11suspensions and um compared them to
- 0:14David Miller and that they should be
- 0:16welcomed back in the way that David
- 0:17Miller was welcomed back there was one
- 0:19obvious diff difference in that David
- 0:21Miller has been very pronounced in his
- 0:24anti-doping stance where these guys have
- 0:26admitted to nothing what is it about
- 0:28these dopers that you same P Mar so
- 0:31much excuse me what is your name again
- 0:34my name is Paul kimage I work for the
- 0:35Sunday Times I asked for an interview
- 0:37but I didn't get one right and just as a
- 0:40little preface I might I might just
- 0:41clear up one thing the reason you didn't
- 0:43get it Paul I wanted to make sure that
- 0:45was you because I don't know what you
- 0:46look
- 0:47like when I decided to come back for
- 0:50what I think is a very Noble
- 0:53reason you said folks the cancer has
- 0:57been in remission for 4 years but our
- 1:00cancer has now
- 1:02returned meaning
- 1:05me I am here to fight this disease I am
- 1:08here so that I don't have to deal with
- 1:10it you don't have to deal with it none
- 1:12of us have to deal with it my children
- 1:13don't have to deal with it but yet you
- 1:15said that I am the cancer and the cancer
- 1:18is out of remission so I think it goes
- 1:20without saying no we're not going to sit
- 1:23down and do an
- 1:24interview and I don't think anybody in
- 1:26this room would sit down for that
- 1:28interview
- 1:30you are not worth the chair that you're
- 1:32sitting on with a statement like that
- 1:34with a disease that touches everybody
- 1:37around the
- 1:39world now to answer your question In
- 1:42fairness to
- 1:43you although I'm not sure you deserve it
- 1:45I will answer the
- 1:47question I think uh you have to
- 1:51consider what has happened there David
- 1:54who I I admire greatly I like a lot I've
- 1:57always liked David Miller uh was with
- 2:00his hand in the cookie jar is it heroic
- 2:02now that that he has confessed some
- 2:05would say so I applaud him for being
- 2:06back I I hope he is very successful on
- 2:08the bike and when he rides fast I think
- 2:10it's
- 2:11great Floyd on the other hand um while
- 2:15there's some you know some would say
- 2:16there's evidence against him there's
- 2:17also a lot of evidence in his favor and
- 2:20as I said in in in an interview the
- 2:23other day Floyd does not believe that he
- 2:24is guilty so to appease people like you
- 2:28and others he can't confess
- 2:30he doesn't feel like he's guilty he
- 2:32doesn't feel like he broke the rules you
- 2:35can't do that just to get people off
- 2:36your back I think Ivon who I also admire
- 2:39greatly and it's not admiring dopers or
- 2:42non-d doopers I I admire these people as
- 2:44as as persons as people for what what
- 2:47they stand for as as men do we make
- 2:50mistakes all of us
- 2:53absolutely as a society are we supposed
- 2:55to forgive and forget and let people get
- 2:57back to their job absolutely
- 3:01um I'm not sure I will ever forgive you
- 3:04for that statement and I'm not sure that
- 3:06anybody around the world that has been
- 3:07affected by this disease we'll forgive
- 3:10you don't have a
- 3:14Cancer and I'm interested in the cancer
- 3:18of
- 3:20right I raced as a professional I
- 3:22exposed it Al then you come along and it
- 3:26disappears the problem disappears
