  49. 3:48place when you were arrested and then
  50. 3:51convicted for
  51. 3:55something um I think honestly during
  52. 3:58that time
  53. 4:00I was in
  54. 4:01shock so it's really hard to
  55. 4:05articulate what I felt um where I was I
  56. 4:10mean I think everybody feels kind of
  57. 4:12like it's a dream and you just can't
  58. 4:14believe it's happening until you wake up
  59. 4:16it's happening is this is this process
  60. 4:19what in a way made you say you want to
  61. 4:20become a lawyer is that
  62. 4:24that I believe so I worked in the law
  63. 4:27library at the facility for several
  64. 4:29years years and everybody needs some
  65. 4:33help what do you think of the
  66. 4:34Northwestern folks who came came in on I
  67. 4:37cannot say enough about the Northwestern
  68. 4:39folks I cannot say enough about my local
  69. 4:41Council because Hillary borick started
  70. 4:44out this with me and then it's
  71. 4:47snowballed and Northwestern come on and
  72. 4:50Shi Harden and Baker and Daniel and they
  73. 4:54have been incredible yeah there's no way
  74. 4:57we could have afforded the experts that
  75. 5:00they were able to get cuz we started
  76. 5:02talking to them and we're just blown
  77. 5:04away by what she did so much for her own
  78. 5:07work um atast an hour we continue to
  79. 5:10push forward and so
  80. 5:12we
  81. 5:15finish you are cleared yes once I'm
  82. 5:19fully cleared I'm going to law
  83. 5:22school
  84. 5:25yeah pretty sure Northwestern will take
  85. 5:30have anything to do with it they will
  86. 5:33what kind of law do you want to practice
  87. 5:34you want to help people in the same
  88. 5:35situation I want to go into criminal law
  89. 5:37and I want to work on a wrongful
  90. 5:39conviction
  91. 5:41for there's still a lot of work to be
  92. 5:43done and there's a whole lot of people
  93. 5:46that are only my situation do you you
  94. 5:49seem so happy obviously you're going to
  95. 5:51be happy but do you do you is it would
  96. 5:54seem like you might be tempted to be a
  97. 5:55little bit bitter about waiting this
  98. 5:56long to get out but you don't seem to
  99. 5:58show that can you explain that uh yeah
  100. 6:01why we don't see the in you
  101. 6:04um I think because this entire time I
  102. 6:08haven't been by myself I've had a family
  103. 6:11that has stood by me I've had people
  104. 6:14that believed in me and stepped up and
  105. 6:17you can't receive blessings like that
  106. 6:19and be
  107. 6:21better it's you know bringing awareness
  108. 6:24to what different people do it's
  109. 6:27bringing awareness to how long it takes
  110. 6:29get through our justice system it's
  111. 6:31bringing awareness to a whole lot of
  112. 6:33fronts and I think that's worth the
  113. 6:37journey so how do you remain optimistic
  114. 6:40then um you see my dream to you yeah
