Korean vs American wedding guest outfits! Is this appropriate? — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00I recently saw these pictures of Kylie
- 0:01Jenner at her friend's wedding and I was
- 0:03honestly shocked. Is this what wedding
- 0:05guests in America actually wear or does
- 0:07she have special privileges because
- 0:09she's a celebrity? Even Kendall as well
- 0:11a couple of years ago, she wore this
- 0:12outrageous dress to her friend's wedding
- 0:14and this could not be more different to
- 0:16what people wear to a Korean wedding. I
- 0:18recently attended my friend's Korean
- 0:20wedding and this is basically the vibe
- 0:22what me and the other girls wore. We
- 0:24didn't plan it but we just all came
- 0:25dressed like this. This is another
- 0:27picture of a Korean celebrity's wedding
- 0:28and this is very typical guest attire.
- 0:31It's more business casual than anything
- 0:32else and nobody is wearing ball gowns.
- 0:35The general rule for a guest in Korea is
- 0:37like obviously don't wear white and try
- 0:39to avoid too light colors that are
- 0:40similar to white and also nothing that
- 0:42makes you stand out too too much and
- 0:44obviously nothing so revealing because
- 0:47all of the attention should be on the
- 0:48bride. Colors are allowed and people do
- 0:50wear pinks and blues and this kind of
- 0:52thing but if you come dressed like
- 0:53Kendall or Kylie, I think there's a
- 0:55chance that you would might get kicked
- 0:56out and the ajummas and the ajushis
- 0:58would definitely be judging you so hard.
- 1:00But yeah, what do you guys wear at
- 1:02weddings? What's typical?
