- 0:01hi everyone it's Anna haferman and today
- 0:03I'm going to show you a dishcloth on the
- 0:06LK 150.
- 0:08a lot of you've been asking for
- 0:10dishcloth patterns and I know a lot of
- 0:11us like to make these and give them as
- 0:13gifts you can also use this as a face
- 0:16cloth it's just a simple tuck stitch
- 0:20pattern two color tuck it's pretty easy
- 0:23to do and it looks nice it makes a
- 0:26really nice gift
- 0:28so before I start I want to thank
- 0:31everyone who supported my channel by
- 0:34joining as a member by giving to the
- 0:37YouTube super thanks or the buy me a
- 0:40coffee link and all of you who comment
- 0:42and like and share my videos I
- 0:45appreciate it
- 0:46and uh
- 0:48it really does help me to make more
- 0:50videos so
- 0:52to do this
- 0:54I'm using this brand new yarn that
- 0:57Premier sent me to review and
- 1:01um this is called minikins it's a 50 50
- 1:06cotton acrylic blend and it comes in
- 1:10these little 50 gram balls which is
- 1:12perfect for this project
- 1:14because you need two colors so you just
- 1:18need two balls of whatever color and you
- 1:21can probably get four
- 1:24of these dish towels out of two balls of
- 1:27yarn so
- 1:30um it's nice and soft and springy the
- 1:34cotton gives it makes it a you know a
- 1:38absorbing and the acrylic I think just
- 1:41makes it dry a little faster so I
- 1:43blocked this one it came out really nice
- 1:47you don't have to block these but I did
- 1:50just for fun to see how it would come
- 1:53out so this yarn also comes in a lot of
- 1:58colors uh and I want to thank premiere
- 2:02for sending these to me
- 2:05this is a sport weight yarn so it works
- 2:07great on the LK 150
- 2:09and it is coming it they I will put a
- 2:13link in the description for where you
- 2:15can get these they're they also have a
- 2:19lot of yarns on sale I got some really
- 2:22nice lace weight linen yarn
- 2:26a bag deal that was amazingly priced so
- 2:30go check that out I'll put a link for
- 2:31that too so and the other really cool
- 2:34thing is that these can feed from the uh
- 2:38like from the center of the ball or cake
- 2:42or whatever you want to call it so that
- 2:44really is nice that you don't have to
- 2:46wind these
- 2:47so I did mine on this the blue one I did
- 2:51with this white and blue and you see I
- 2:53have quite a bit left over
- 2:55so I'm gonna do this one in pink
- 2:59and white you can do it in any colors
- 3:03you like I think it works best if they
- 3:07have some contrast
- 3:09here's a couple I've done
- 3:12over the years this is a green and white
- 3:15one this is different yarn this one I
- 3:18did with actually another Premier called
- 3:20yarn called The Cotton Fair which is
- 3:23fairly similar to this but uh just
- 3:26slightly different this one I did in
- 3:28pink and red and I made it a little
- 3:29bigger
- 3:30because I hadn't checked my gauge but
- 3:33this Stitch it's also a little looser so
- 3:37this Stitch would make a really nice
- 3:39baby blanket or
- 3:41spa towel or whatever you know as long
- 3:44once you know how to do this Stitch
- 3:46which is pretty easy you can make just
- 3:49about anything with it
- 3:52so to start I'm going to use some waste
- 3:55yarn
- 3:57just to get things going to establish
- 3:59stitches because I'm going to e-wrap and
- 4:02then go directly into the tuck so it's
- 4:05very difficult to knit off
- 4:08from that so the waste yarn really is
- 4:12going to help me to establish my
- 4:16stitches
- 4:20so I'm just using the green for that and
- 4:24I'm going to go from 2020
- 4:29to 21. I need an even number a odd
- 4:34number of stitches for this to make it
- 4:36work out so
- 4:37however wide or whatever you want it
- 4:39just make sure you have an even number
- 4:41if you want the edges to look nice so
- 4:44and then I'm just going to cast on with
- 4:48the cast on comb
- 4:51and so I'm going to be at tension 4 for
- 4:54this and just do
- 4:57a easy
- 4:59cast on
- 5:02with the comb
- 5:05and I like to hang this comb
- 5:08this way because I feel like it gives
- 5:13it's a little easier
- 5:18so you just hang it
- 5:20backwards
- 5:24that
- 5:26and put a weight on it and that way it's
- 5:28easier to get that Stitch out of where
- 5:33it is and you can
- 5:34um
- 5:35uh it seems to stay on better if you put
- 5:39it backwards so in the book they tell
- 5:43you to do it the other way but I have
- 5:44found that this works better
- 5:46for me
- 5:48so
- 5:51just casting on doing my waistband
- 6:10all right so then I'm going to cut waste
- 6:14yarn
- 6:17I'm just cutting that
- 6:20and um
- 6:22I'm gonna get rid of it now because I'm
- 6:24going to thread the other color
- 6:32so
- 6:40I've got the pink I pulled out from the
- 6:44center of the little skein and these
- 6:49feed
- 6:50pretty easily from the little skein
- 6:54you probably want to pull a little bit
- 6:57out at first so it was
- 7:00so it flows smoothly but then just put
- 7:03your
- 7:04um
- 7:05the color you want on the edge put it on
- 7:07the right
- 7:09and the other color which I guess we'll
- 7:11call the contrast color will put on the
- 7:14left so just park that and just make
- 7:17sure that it's flowing pretty freely to
- 7:20start
- 7:21which mine I hope is the white I used on
- 7:25the first
- 7:26the first one so it is um
- 7:30flowing pretty freely now so
- 7:34but once you get it started it's pretty
- 7:36easy Once I have the waste yarn
- 7:39established I'm going to e-wrap so I've
- 7:43got the yarn coming from here from The
- 7:45Carriage actually and then I just go
- 7:55and e-wrap all the way across
- 7:58so now that I've e-wrapped I want to
- 8:01start in with the pattern so to do that
- 8:05I need to be in hold on both sides of
- 8:09the carriage so that's at the one here
- 8:12and these should these all the levers
- 8:14should be facing backwards and depending
- 8:18what machine you're using there's
- 8:21different ways you put things on hold
- 8:23but generally for the plastic machines
- 8:25all the levers will go backwards and the
- 8:28reason I use the
- 8:30um waste yarn is well a couple reasons
- 8:34first of all I want to weight it down
- 8:35but second of all I'm going to start in
- 8:38with the tuck Stitch right away so I
- 8:42want to have
- 8:43um
- 8:43it's it's next to impossible to start
- 8:47tuck stitch on the second
- 8:50and the first row and maybe you can do
- 8:52it I can't so
- 8:55um to do that I'm going to be tucking
- 8:57every other needle and since my needles
- 8:59are out here I'm going to push them all
- 9:01back to
- 9:03upper working position that's right here
- 9:07not all the way back to working position
- 9:09or everything will fall off the needle
- 9:11this is upper working positions right
- 9:13about here there's a little oval
- 9:16so I'm going to push everything
- 9:18like an upper working position and then
- 9:21selecting them I'm going to pull
- 9:23starting with the second one here I'm
- 9:26going to pull those to hold
- 9:29and
- 9:32these okay
- 9:35and it's important to start with the
- 9:37second needle to get the pattern to work
- 9:40out right if you want
- 9:41uh White around all the edges that's
- 9:45what you're going to have to do so
- 9:47that's what I'm going to do and I've got
- 9:49my kerogene hold I'm going to go to zero
- 9:51these are my first two rows so these are
- 9:54going to hold the ones back here are
- 9:56going to knit so I'm going to do two
- 9:58rows
- 10:03foreign
- 10:07[Music]
- 10:10make sure everything
- 10:12looks good and then I'm going to take
- 10:15this white yarn and park it over on the
- 10:18right hand side
- 10:23and I just do that by going over here is
- 10:26coming I usually just park it right here
- 10:31um
- 10:32so then I have the pink
- 10:35or whatever your contrast color is I'm
- 10:38going to thread that so then here's the
- 10:41pattern what we do
- 10:44is the stitches that are in hold which
- 10:47is all of these up here I'm going to
- 10:50push back to Upper working position
- 10:53and then I'm going to pull
- 10:55the other needles that are back there
- 11:00to hold
- 11:02so
- 11:03and then I will knit that one went back
- 11:07a little too far
- 11:10I'm gonna knit two rows
- 11:17and then when I have the contrast color
- 11:20when I get to this side I'm going to
- 11:22take this yarn that's going over that
- 11:24needle and I'm just going to push it
- 11:26under it so we're just basically
- 11:28wrapping that needle
- 11:30and then I'm going to come back
- 11:35and my yarn I should have pulled out a
- 11:37little more it's not running too freely
- 11:39yet it will but so if that happens just
- 11:42pull those stitches back it's no big
- 11:45deal so just make sure you've got
- 11:47your yarn flowing nicely so then when
- 11:51I'm on the right with the pink I just
- 11:54need to take it and park it and
- 11:59since I can't really reach I'm
- 12:02gonna park it right under that clip
- 12:06um that'll
- 12:07that'll work uh normally I would do it
- 12:10you know park it on the left hand the
- 12:13left hand side of the bed but since I
- 12:17since I'm knitting side saddle I'm going
- 12:20to do it that way so now then the
- 12:22pattern goes like this and so that one
- 12:25pretty much automatically wrapped itself
- 12:27so now now what I do is push the needles
- 12:30in hold
- 12:31back to Upper work
- 12:34and then the needles that are
- 12:36in work out to hold
- 12:41and then I knit two rows
- 12:46now when I get over here with the white
- 12:48uh because it knits the last Stitch I
- 12:52don't need to wrap anything because
- 12:53there's nothing to wrap
- 12:55and when I knit back
- 13:00and then I change yarn so now I'm going
- 13:04to put the take the white out
- 13:08and do the pink and
- 13:12at first it sounds a little laborious
- 13:14but it really goes pretty fast once you
- 13:17get going so I changed color I'm going
- 13:19to push back
- 13:22the front ones the needles in hold and
- 13:25then I'm going to push out
- 13:27the ones in
- 13:30um
- 13:32upper in work working position that's
- 13:36where they were
- 13:38so then I'm going to put a little bit of
- 13:39weight on the end and then I'm just
- 13:41going to knit two rows one
- 13:44and with the pink I'm always going to
- 13:46wrap
- 13:47and then I'm going to come back and
- 13:50change color
- 13:54and really this goes pretty fast once
- 13:56you get going
- 13:58um
- 14:04so I'll change color then
- 14:07all I do for the entire pattern is push
- 14:12the needles in hold back to Upper work
- 14:15push the needles that are in work out to
- 14:20hold so that's it and then I knit
- 14:22two rows
- 14:25I don't have to wrap with the white
- 14:28and come back
- 14:32then I change color
- 14:38push
- 14:40the ones in hold go back
- 14:42only to Upper working position and the
- 14:45ones back here in working position go
- 14:47out to holding position
- 14:50so this
- 14:52it looks like that on the back and then
- 14:54the front
- 14:56will be this stroke pattern and that's
- 14:58you know we did some two color tuck
- 15:00before
- 15:01and it does amazing things
- 15:04[Music]
- 15:06it's one of it's really my favorite
- 15:09kind of pattern because it seems kind of
- 15:11like magic so remember to always wrap
- 15:13that pink you don't have to but it makes
- 15:16a nicer Edge I think so if you were
- 15:19doing something with this pattern where
- 15:21you were seaming it you probably
- 15:23wouldn't have to wrap so
- 15:25up to you of course
- 15:29so I just continue with that
- 15:36and you know this pattern
- 15:39can be used for anything like a baby
- 15:41blanket a scarf anything square or
- 15:46rectangular it will work
- 15:49um so push this back
- 15:52push these
- 15:53out
- 15:56and knit two rows
- 15:59don't have to wrap the white
- 16:04so it that's all you do and
- 16:09um just keep going for a hundred and I
- 16:12think it was 120 rows
- 16:15and that's it the things I can tell you
- 16:18are occasionally this Stitch will seem a
- 16:22little it'll get a little tighter on
- 16:24this side just kind of by the nature of
- 16:27the machine and how knitting goes so
- 16:30sometimes I'll pull it out a little you
- 16:32don't have to do that
- 16:35um pull it back a little
- 16:37the other thing is suppose you're
- 16:39talking a lot and recording a video or
- 16:41something like that and you can't
- 16:43remember where you are like which uh I'm
- 16:48my Carriage I haven't put any yarn in my
- 16:50Carriage yet so I'm like where am I so
- 16:53it's pretty easy to tell
- 16:55what you need to do so if you see you
- 16:58look at your stitches and I can see that
- 17:01there are two whites uh White Yarns
- 17:04tucked on the stitches I don't know if
- 17:06you can see that so there's like two
- 17:10strands of white coming over and one
- 17:14pink
- 17:15uh so you know those are the ones that
- 17:17tuck to the last time so therefore
- 17:19you're going to use the other color so
- 17:23it's just a
- 17:24that's the way you tell
- 17:26um
- 17:28and also you can see these single
- 17:31stitches are white so that means you do
- 17:34pink but I think the easiest way to tell
- 17:36is
- 17:36the two strands of whatever color
- 17:40you know you just did those so it's
- 17:42going to be the other other ones and if
- 17:45you can't remember if you pushed back
- 17:47the right ones and if you've changed it
- 17:50first of all these are going to be in
- 17:53work if you didn't change it so that's
- 17:56one clue that you would need to push the
- 17:59needles back the other is you look at
- 18:02those tuck stitches they're out to hold
- 18:04so obviously you just did those so we'll
- 18:06push
- 18:07those back because
- 18:10these are going to tuck this time
- 18:15okay
- 18:16so that's really it so we're going to do
- 18:18120 rows
- 18:20we're always going to wrap this Stitch
- 18:23needle
- 18:24and then we're going to
- 18:27change color
- 18:29and uh
- 18:31this is a fun little project it doesn't
- 18:33take that long once you get going it's
- 18:36it doesn't take a lot of yarn so I
- 18:40weighed this after I was done it weighed
- 18:4324 grams and two of these
- 18:47these are 50 grams so two of them are
- 18:49100 grams divided by 24 you can get
- 18:52probably four
- 18:54you should easily be able to get four
- 18:56dishcloths out of them and
- 18:59um they make nice gifts you could give a
- 19:01couple colors
- 19:02and wrap them up put a nice little bar
- 19:05of soap or a little thing of dish
- 19:07detergent whatever you want to do
- 19:11so I'm getting towards the end here and
- 19:13I'm set to go across with the pink one
- 19:16thing is if you
- 19:19um when you move the yarn around or when
- 19:22you move it around a lot it gets kind of
- 19:23slack in the feeder
- 19:27so all you really need to do
- 19:30for that is you can either pull it back
- 19:33from the ball
- 19:35or you can just kind of hold on to it if
- 19:38you can see me here let's see you just
- 19:40kind of hold on to it
- 19:45sort of hold on to it and move the
- 19:48carriage across and you'll feel it
- 19:50connect and then you're good you can let
- 19:52go
- 19:53so I'm going to do two more rows of pink
- 20:03and then that's going to be it for the
- 20:06pink so I'm going to cut that pink yarn
- 20:17and I'm just going to weight it down
- 20:19with a clip
- 20:23so then my last two rows and pattern so
- 20:27I'm at 120 I'm still going to do two
- 20:29more rows in white so I'm going to push
- 20:31those back one more time
- 20:34these out
- 20:39and then I'm going to knit two rows now
- 20:41so I'm going to thread a needle and
- 20:45um back stitch bind off
- 20:49and you'll want a fairly long
- 20:52uh piece of yarn for this so what I'm
- 20:56going to do is go
- 20:58um
- 21:02into the first Stitch
- 21:04and in the front of it and then in the
- 21:08back of the second one now the second
- 21:09one you make sure you go through that
- 21:11pink one because
- 21:13um
- 21:13that's the actual Stitch
- 21:18then go back
- 21:20to the first one skip the one with the
- 21:24pink and go through the back of it
- 21:26third one
- 21:28then when you go through here
- 21:31go through all three the pink and under
- 21:35that
- 21:36yarn there and then go through the back
- 21:39of that pink
- 21:51and then go forward to the white and
- 21:55each time I'm trying to get under that
- 21:56yarn
- 21:58you can either go over or under but just
- 22:00make sure you do it the same way
- 22:02and in the back of that one so it
- 22:05um
- 22:07if
- 22:09you like my videos
- 22:13please like And subscribe uh any
- 22:16comments or likes or shares or anything
- 22:19really does help me out so I appreciate
- 22:23your support and I'm really liking this
- 22:27Premier yarn this uh I'm really liking
- 22:30these mini kins
- 22:33um
- 22:35I really like that they come you don't
- 22:38have to rewind them into balls into
- 22:40cakes that is a nice little feature
- 22:44because so many Yarns for
- 22:47machine Knitters
- 22:50there aren't many Yarns for machine
- 22:51Knitters so but I mean we can use a lot
- 22:55of Yarns we just have to wind them into
- 22:57cakes usually and so now uh there used
- 23:01to be a lot of yarns on cones
- 23:03but now that doesn't seem to be as
- 23:06common but often you can find yarn on
- 23:10cakes which is good too but these are
- 23:13just as good since they pull from the
- 23:16middle and didn't have any trouble
- 23:18feeding
- 23:20um
- 23:21after the first
- 23:23pulling out some and then it'll feed
- 23:26pretty pretty easily once you get it
- 23:29going
- 23:36so when you get to the last needle
- 23:41go through that last one
- 23:45and you still go back one
- 23:48go through it again
- 23:52and then just go through it
- 23:56in the back one more time and that
- 23:58should
- 23:59close it up
- 24:13okay
- 24:15so now
- 24:17[Music]
- 24:19let's see what we got here taking off my
- 24:22clips
- 24:26so to get this off all I would have to
- 24:28do
- 24:32is go forward with everything
- 24:36and back with everything
- 24:39we still have the waste yarn so go to
- 24:43the side
- 24:45without the Tails so there's two sides
- 24:48this one has the tails
- 24:50and this one does not so I will clip
- 24:53that last Stitch there just that green
- 24:56one and you know make sure you're not
- 24:58clipping any pink or white
- 25:01clip
- 25:02and then you can take
- 25:06this tail over here this top one
- 25:10and just pull it out
- 25:14and it should come out
- 25:17pretty easily and then
- 25:20there we go anyway here it is I've woven
- 25:23in all my tails and the back looks like
- 25:27this it has a lot of nice texture and
- 25:30the front gets this really nice striped
- 25:32pattern
- 25:33and here's Claudine who is um coming to
