16. 0:37legally there's nothing wrong with it
17. 0:38there were no conditions imposed on her
18. 0:40release from prison she's entitled to do
19. 0:42whatever she wants but
20. 0:44ethically morally in the sense of karma
21. 0:47and faith many people have a hard time
22. 0:51dealing with the fact that she's got
23. 0:52these three young beautiful children and
24. 0:57she took she killed she tortured
25. 0:59three young children that belonged to
26. 1:01other parents
27. 1:04i spent an hour with carla hamulka
28. 1:07in her living room
29. 1:09in guadalupe
30. 1:10as the only journalist to have a
31. 1:12face-to-face interview with her
32. 1:14and she was very wary obviously because
33. 1:18at first she thought i think that i'd
34. 1:20come to kill her
35. 1:21because she knew pope will want to kill
36. 1:22her she knows that very well and since
37. 1:24no one had ever found her before it was
38. 1:27you must be an assassin
39. 1:29i don't even think about that i just
40. 1:31thought carla you know
41. 1:32you must have a side to the story so she
42. 1:34took me into the living room
43. 1:36she closed the french
44. 1:38doors how frightened was i then
45. 1:42i'd already decided that this was a
46. 1:43frightening thing to do but you as a
47. 1:46journalist you get afraid
48. 1:49before
49. 1:50you imagine what is it like to cover a
50. 1:52war and how risky is it and the people
51. 1:54who do the phenomenal job of going there
52. 1:57and getting killed sometimes
53. 1:58unfortunately
54. 1:59they know the danger they put themselves
55. 2:01into it so you're not really panicked at
56. 2:03the time you feel like you're
57. 2:04experiencing a danger that you prepared
58. 2:06yourself for she was very well put
59. 2:08together
60. 2:10and she sat right at the end of the
61. 2:12couch and i sat at the other she had
62. 2:14three small children who
63. 2:17she constantly was bringing to her
64. 2:18breast at one point she actually pulled
65. 2:20her top down so that most of her breasts
66. 2:22was exposed and nursed her i think
67. 2:25one-year-old
68. 2:26toddler
69. 2:28and it was
70. 2:29it was so odd because i was trying to
71. 2:31pretend that i wasn't sitting across
72. 2:32from carla mocha
73. 2:34a psychopath
74. 2:35in from what i saw my estimation and i'm
75. 2:38not a psychiatrist so it's probably
76. 2:39worth nothing but
77. 2:41i feel so strongly after what i
78. 2:42experienced so she all the kids were
79. 2:45crawling on her and
80. 2:47she was doing this and and so we're in
81. 2:49this i was in a state of pretending like
82. 2:51nothing was happening so i was trying to
83. 2:52keep my eyes up
84. 2:54knowing full well that this was a very
85. 2:56obviously
86. 2:57overly sexualized move in front of a
87. 2:59stranger particularly one with her past
88. 3:02and she remained
89. 3:04very calm
90. 3:06dead calm
91. 3:07she was
92. 3:08super on guard because she didn't want
93. 3:11anyone to know
94. 3:13where she lived but she wanted to know
95. 3:16two things she wanted to know how i
96. 3:18found her really like exactly how it
97. 3:21found her where had she made a misstep
98. 3:24and
99. 3:26she wanted to talk
100. 3:28and that was the weirdest thing ever
101. 3:29even though we were locked in this
102. 3:31combative situation she was at one end i
103. 3:34was at the other end of this couch not a
104. 3:35huge couch but still clearly we were
105. 3:37both pressed against either end
106. 3:40there were many times in that
107. 3:41conversation just because of all the
108. 3:42experience i have as a journalist where
109. 3:43i thought that's it i'm gone i can just
110. 3:45i can just see her moving toward it she
111. 3:47would move toward it she'd stop
112. 3:49she'd come back
113. 3:50it was like she was playing a cat and
114. 3:52mouse with me and so i went along with
115. 3:54it because i wanted to say obviously as
116. 3:55long as possible at one point she left
117. 3:57the room and she left me with her
118. 3:59children the little boy
119. 4:01who's just barely walking teetered up to
120. 4:03me and put his hands on my knees because
121. 4:06he wants me on to play
122. 4:07and
123. 4:08she was standing up sort of out of my
124. 4:11eye and i said look i i'm a safe person
125. 4:13to have here you know i'm good to talk
126. 4:15to i you know i'm not i'm not touching
127. 4:17your child at all and she turns around
128. 4:19and she looks at me with like a just
129. 4:21dagger and she said you better not touch
130. 4:24my children because you don't know how
131. 4:25fast you'll be out of here
132. 4:28at which point you might wonder

134. 4:32you know i guess you know how scary it
135. 4:34can be to leave your children with a
136. 4:36stranger right
137. 4:37nothing not any acknowledgement that
138. 4:40that's what she did to somebody else's
139. 4:41kids it's like it's it's the oddest
140. 4:44thing she's clearly there she's clearly
141. 4:46in control of her husband
142. 4:48at one point he was asking what should i
143. 4:50do and she rolled her eyes at me like
144. 4:52you know how
145. 4:54husbands not that i would ever do that
146. 4:57but she rolled her eyes trying to bond
147. 5:00with me
148. 5:01by putting her husband down
149. 5:03it was a it was a tremendously odd
