KILL THAT WEAK VERSION OF YOURSELF IN 2026 | Jim Rohn Motivation — Transcript

- 0:02You're not failing because the economy
- 0:04is bad. You're not stuck because you
- 0:06don't have talent. You're not broke
- 0:08because you weren't born into the right
- 0:10family. You're failing because you've
- 0:12inherited a philosophy that was designed
- 0:14for someone else. And the hardest part,
- 0:17that philosophy is whispering to you
- 0:19right now, telling you it's someone
- 0:21else's fault. That's the disease. And
- 0:24this is the cure. See, there's a version
- 0:27of you that exists in 2027. Not a
- 0:30fantasy version, not a someday version,
- 0:33a real version. And that version is
- 0:36either going to thank you or curse
- 0:38[music] you. The question isn't whether
- 0:40you'll change. The question is whether
- 0:43you'll change on purpose or by accident.
- 0:45[music]
- 0:46Because the man or woman you'll become
- 0:48is not a mystery. They're the direct
- 0:50result of the daily decisions you're
- 0:52making right now, [music] today, this
- 0:54week, this month. And if that future
- 0:57version of you is broke, lonely, and
- 0:59tired, that's not bad luck. [music]
- 1:02That's not the universe being unfair.
- 1:05That's arithmetic. Let me tell you
- 1:07something most people don't want to
- 1:08hear. Your life isn't complicated. Your
- 1:11situation is. [music] But your life,
- 1:14your life is following a simple
- 1:16equation. philosophy, attitude,
- 1:19behavior, results, lifestyle. [music]
- 1:22That's it. That's the whole thing. Right
- 1:26now, most people are trying to change
- 1:28their results by working harder at the
- 1:30behavior level. They're saying, "I'll
- 1:33just work more hours. I'll just push
- 1:35harder. I'll just find more motivation."
- 1:38But they're ignoring the foundation.
- 1:41They're ignoring philosophy. See, you
- 1:43could have the perfect plan and still
- 1:45fail. You could have the best strategy
- 1:47in the world and still be broke by next
- 1:49year. Because if your philosophy is
- 1:52broken, everything that sits on top of
- 1:54it is just expensive failure with better
- 1:57shoes. So let me ask you this. What is
- 2:00your philosophy about money, about your
- 2:02potential, about discipline, about
- 2:05failure? Not what do you say your
- 2:07philosophy is? Not what sounds good on
- 2:10social media, [music] but what do you
- 2:12actually believe? Because your beliefs
- 2:15are like the root system of a tree, most
- 2:17people are looking at the leaves, trying
- 2:19to make them greener, [music] trying to
- 2:21make them bigger. But if the roots are
- 2:23poisoned, all you're doing is killing
- 2:26yourself slowly with a better
- 2:27perspective. Here's what most people
- 2:29believe, and they don't even know they
- 2:31believe it. Someone else is responsible
- 2:34for my success. It's the government's
- 2:36fault. It's the economy's fault. [music]
- 2:38It's my boss. It's my parents. It's my
- 2:42circumstances.
- 2:43That belief system is a cage. And the
- 2:46worst part, it feels true. But truth and
- 2:50reality are not the same thing. Your
- 2:52circumstances might be real, but your
- 2:54philosophy about your circumstances
- 2:56determines whether you're a victim or a
- 2:58victor. Jim Ran taught us something that
- 3:02most people refuse to accept. You can't
- 3:04reap what you don't sow. This isn't
- 3:07mystical. This isn't spiritual babble.
- 3:09This is agriculture. [music] A farmer
- 3:12doesn't go out in spring and say, "I'm
- 3:14wishing for corn." He doesn't sit in his
- 3:16house and imagine a harvest. He doesn't
- 3:19post a picture of corn on social media.
- 3:22He gets up. He prepares the soil. He
- 3:25plants the seed. He waters it. He
- 3:27removes the weeds. He tends it day after
- 3:31day after [music] day. And then he gets
- 3:34a harvest. The farmer knows something
- 3:37you've forgotten. There are no shortcuts
- 3:39in nature. Now, what are you sewing? Are
- 3:43you sowing discipline or are you sowing
- 3:45habits that keep you weak? Are you
- 3:47sowing knowledge or are you sowing
- 3:50ignorance? Are you sowing integrity or
- 3:53are you sowing excuses? Because I want
- 3:56to tell you something that changed my
- 3:58life. You will not rise above the seeds
- 4:00you sew. Period. And here's the tragedy.
- 4:04Most people know this. Deep down. They
- 4:07know. [music] But they keep asking the
- 4:09wrong question. They keep asking when
- 4:11will it be easy. They keep asking when
- 4:14will it be fair. They keep asking why do
- 4:16I have to do this? But the real question
- 4:19is what do I need to sew to reap the
- 4:21life I actually want? [music] See, most
- 4:24people are living on a timet that
- 4:26doesn't exist. They're waiting for the
- 4:29right opportunity, the right moment, the
- 4:32right market, the right boss, the right
- 4:34partner. And while they're waiting,
- 4:37someone else is sewing, [music] someone
- 4:39else is working, someone else is
- 4:41building discipline, someone else is
- 4:43learning. And you know what happens?
- 4:45That person reaps. And then we call them
- 4:48lucky. But luck is just preparation
- 4:51meeting opportunity. And preparation
- 4:53only comes from sewing. Here's a
- 4:55question for you. What would happen to
- 4:57your life if you exercise the same
- 4:59discipline with your goals that you do
- 5:01with your phone? Think about that. When
- 5:04your phone battery is low, you don't
- 5:07say, "I'll just wait until it's
- 5:08convenient to charge it." You find a
- 5:11charger, [music] you make it happen.
- 5:13That's discipline. When you're hungry,
- 5:16you don't say, "I'll wait until
- 5:18conditions are perfect to eat." You find
- 5:21food, that's discipline. But when it
- 5:23comes to your dreams, when it comes to
- 5:26your potential, when it comes to your
- 5:28future, suddenly discipline feels like
- 5:31punishment. Suddenly it feels optional.
- 5:34Suddenly you're waiting for motivation.
- 5:38But let me tell you something Jim Ran
- 5:40knew in his bones. Discipline is not
- 5:42punishment. Discipline is the price of
- 5:45freedom. Think about [music] that. The
- 5:47most free people on the planet are the
- 5:49most disciplined, not the least. The
- 5:52entrepreneur who controls their time,
- 5:55that's discipline. The athlete who
- 5:57controls their body, that's discipline.
- 5:59The person who controls their thoughts,
- 6:01that's discipline. [music] And yet,
- 6:03we've been taught to believe that
- 6:05discipline is restrictive. We've been
- 6:07sold a lie. You want to know what's
- 6:09actually restrictive? Debt, addiction,
- 6:12mediocrity, living someone else's life.
- 6:16That's restrictive. But discipline,
- 6:19discipline is the narrow gate that leads
- 6:21to freedom. And here's what makes it
- 6:23worse. We don't see the cost of in
- 6:25discipline. [music] We see it as freedom
- 6:27in the moment. I'm free to sleep in. I'm
- 6:30free to skip the workout. [music] I'm
- 6:32free to eat what I want. But you're not
- 6:35free. You're just deferring the payment.
- 6:37And the bill always comes due. See, I
- 6:40talk to people all the time who are
- 6:42drowning in regret. They're 45 years old
- 6:45and they [music] say, "I should have
- 6:47started earlier." They're overweight and
- 6:50they say, "I should have started the
- 6:52diet." They're broke and they say, "I
- 6:56should have invested." But it's too late
- 6:58to pay with discipline. [music] So they
- 7:00pay with regret. And regret is much much
- 7:03more expensive than discipline. [music]
- 7:05Regret cost you the years. Discipline
- 7:08cost you the Netflix subscription.
- 7:10[music] Which one would you choose? I
- 7:12want to tell you a story. It's not new.
- 7:15It's ancient. But it applies to you
- 7:18right now. Two farmers, same village,
- 7:22same [music] soil, same weather, same
- 7:25opportunities. Farmer A wakes up at 4:30
- 7:28a.m. [music] He's not a morning person,
- 7:31but he does it anyway. That's
- 7:33discipline. He walks his fields and
- 7:35checks the soil. [music] He knows what
- 7:37to look for. That's knowledge. He plants
- 7:40with intention, not randomly, not
- 7:43hoping, [music]
- 7:43with intention. That's clarity. He
- 7:46waters. He tends. He removes weeds. He
- 7:49does this for months. [music] No results
- 7:51yet. No payoff yet. That's faith. Farmer
- 7:55B. Farmer B is sleeping until 8. Farmer
- 7:58B is checking on his crops once a week.
- 8:01Farmer B is hoping for rain instead of
- 8:03building irrigation. [music] Farmer B is
- 8:05complaining about the market instead of
- 8:07improving his yield. Both farmers wait
- 8:10for the season to end. When the harvest
- 8:12comes, [music] farmer A has abundance.
- 8:15Farmer B has just enough. Maybe not even
- 8:18that. Farmer B looks at farmer A and
- 8:21says, "You're so lucky." But it wasn't
- 8:24luck. It was the small decisions
- 8:26compounded over time. It was 4:30 a.m.
- 8:30instead of 8:00 a.m. It was knowledge
- 8:32instead of guessing. It was daily
- 8:34tending instead of weekly checking. It
- 8:36was intention instead of hope. Now,
- 8:40which farmer are you right now? And
- 8:42here's what's critical. You don't have
- 8:44to be farmer B next year. The season
- 8:47hasn't started yet. You still have time
- 8:49to change your philosophy. You still
- 8:52have time to start sewing differently.
- 8:54But only if you accept this truth. You
- 8:57can't be lazy and rich at the same time.
- 8:59You can't be undisiplined and free at
- 9:01the same time. You can't be negligent
- 9:03and successful at the same time. Those
- 9:06equations don't work in nature. [music]
- 9:08And they don't work in life. Here's
- 9:10something Jim Ran said that nobody talks
- 9:13about anymore. [music] Formal education
- 9:15will make you a living. Self-education
- 9:18will make you a fortune. Think about
- 9:20that. School teaches you a job, but it
- 9:23doesn't teach you how to build wealth.
- 9:25It doesn't teach you how to think.
- 9:27[music] It doesn't teach you how to
- 9:28lead. It doesn't teach you how to speak.
- 9:31It doesn't teach you how to sell. It
- 9:33teaches you compliance. [music] And
- 9:35compliance doesn't build empires. So,
- 9:38here's the question. After you finish
- 9:40school, do you stop learning? Because
- 9:43that's what most people do. They get
- 9:45their diploma and they think, "Okay, I'm
- 9:48educated now." They close the book. They
- 9:51stop reading. They stop learning. And
- 9:54you know what that means? Their thinking
- 9:56stops evolving. Their income stays the
- 9:59same. Their perspective stays frozen in
- 10:02time. But here's the beautiful part. The
- 10:05person who reads one book a year isn't
- 10:07more educated than the person who reads
- 10:09zero books a year. They're transformed.
- 10:12The person who listens to one
- 10:13educational podcast a day isn't slightly
- 10:16better informed than the person who
- 10:18listens to zero. [music] They're
- 10:20operating from a completely different
- 10:22reality because compound learning is
- 10:24more powerful than any other force in
- 10:26your life. Think about [music] this. If
- 10:29you read one book a month, that's 12
- 10:31books a year. In 10 years, that's 120
- 10:35books. You'll know more about life than
- 10:3799% of the people on the planet. But we
- 10:40don't think that way. [music] We think
- 10:42one book won't matter. True, one book
- 10:45won't matter, but 120 books, 120 books
- 10:49will rebuild your brain. [music] So,
- 10:51here's what most weak people do. They
- 10:54wait for the perfect book. They wait for
- 10:56the perfect course. They wait for the
- 10:58perfect mentor. But here's what strong
- 11:01people do. [music] They read good books,
- 11:03even if they're not perfect. They take
- 11:06imperfect courses. [music] They learn
- 11:08from imperfect mentors. because they
- 11:10understand that imperfect education is
- 11:12better than no education and every
- 11:15single day they're getting stronger.
- 11:18I want you to understand something that
- 11:20most people get wrong. You don't need a
- 11:22massive transformation. You need a small
- 11:25discipline multiplied. See, most people
- 11:27look at someone successful and they
- 11:29think, "Wow, they must have done
- 11:31something huge." But usually that's not
- 11:34true. Usually they did something small
- 11:371,000 times. The person with perfect abs
- 11:40didn't do one massive workout. They did
- 11:43a 20inute workout over and over and
- 11:46over. The person with a million dollars
- 11:49didn't make one massive sale. They made
- 11:51small sales consistently [music]
- 11:54over time. The person with a amazing
- 11:57relationship didn't have one perfect
- 11:59moment. They had 10,000 small moments of
- 12:02kindness, patience, and presence. This
- 12:06is what kills most people's dreams.
- 12:08They're waiting for the big break. But
- 12:10big breaks don't exist. What exists is
- 12:13small disciplines repeated. [music] So
- 12:16here's what I want you to understand.
- 12:18You don't need to be amazing at
- 12:19everything. [music] You need to be
- 12:21disciplined at a few things. Just a few
- 12:24things.
- 12:25What if you committed to reading 20
- 12:27minutes a day, exercise 30 minutes a
- 12:30day, one difficult conversation or
- 12:33important task per day, [music]
- 12:35investing 1 hour a day in your skill?
- 12:37That's it. That's barely anything.
- 12:40That's only 2 hours a day. And yet in
- 12:43one year, you would have read 30 plus
- 12:45books. You would have worked out 180
- 12:48plus hours. You would have completed 365
- 12:51difficult conversations or tasks. You
- 12:53would have invested 365 hours into
- 12:56mastery. [music] Do you understand what
- 12:58you would become? You wouldn't be the
- 13:00same person. You wouldn't recognize
- 13:03yourself. But here's [music] the catch.
- 13:05It's not easy. Not because it's hard,
- 13:08but because it's boring. [music] It's
- 13:10not glamorous. It's not exciting. It's
- 13:13just showing [music] up day after day
- 13:17after day. And that's why most people
- 13:20won't do it because they're waiting for
- 13:22it to feel good. They're waiting for
- 13:24motivation. [music] They're waiting for
- 13:26inspiration. But discipline isn't about
- 13:28feeling good. Discipline is about doing
- 13:30the thing anyway. Let me tell you about
- 13:32the most dangerous word in the English
- 13:34language. Later, later I'll start that
- 13:37business. Later I'll go back to school.
- 13:40[music] Later I'll fix the relationship.
- 13:42Later I'll get healthy. Later I'll learn
- 13:45that skill. [music] And years go by and
- 13:48later becomes never. See right now you
- 13:51think you have unlimited time. You
- 13:53[music] think I'm young. I can start
- 13:55next year. But you're not thinking about
- 13:57the math. Let's say you're 30 years old.
- 14:01Let's say you live to 90. That's 60
- 14:03years left. That sounds like a lot until
- 14:06you break it down. 60 years is 30 times
- 14:09what you've already lived. But if you've
- 14:11spent the last 30 years sleeping,
- 14:14eating, working, and not building, why
- 14:17would the next 30 be different? Most
- 14:20people don't change because they don't
- 14:21feel the urgency. [music] They think,
- 14:23"I'll do it when I'm ready." But
- 14:25readiness is a feeling, not a condition.
- 14:28The condition is now. The condition is
- 14:31always now. [music] And the person who
- 14:33understands that will be a completely
- 14:35different person in 5 years than the
- 14:37person who's still waiting. Here's what
- 14:39I want you to do. I want you to fast
- 14:42forward to 2031, 5 years from now. What
- 14:45does your life look like? Are you the
- 14:48same person or are you someone
- 14:50completely different? [music] Now,
- 14:52here's the hard part. That difference
- 14:54you're imagining, that only happens if
- 14:56you start now. [music] Not when you feel
- 14:59ready. Not when the time is right. Not
- 15:01when the conditions are perfect. Now,
- 15:04[music] because every day you wait is a
- 15:07day that person you want to become
- 15:09[music] is not being built. Think about
- 15:11it like this. If you wanted to build a
- 15:14house, [music] would you wait until you
- 15:15felt like it? No. You'd hire a
- 15:18contractor. You'd break ground. You'd
- 15:21start building. But for your life, for
- 15:24your character, for your skills, you're
- 15:26waiting for a feeling. And that feeling
- 15:29will never come. Because feelings follow
- 15:31action, they don't precede [music] it.
- 15:34One of the most misunderstood things
- 15:36about life is this. Failure is not
- 15:38permanent. It's a season. See, most
- 15:41people treat failure like it's a
- 15:43destination. They fail once and they
- 15:45think, "Okay, I'm a failure." And they
- 15:48never try again. But that's not how
- 15:51nature works. Winter always comes every
- 15:55single year. [music] Sometimes it's
- 15:57harsh, sometimes it's mild, but it
- 16:00always comes. [music] And farmers don't
- 16:02stop being farmers because winter
- 16:04exists. They understand winter is a
- 16:08season. Spring will come.
- 16:11But here's what most people do. They
- 16:13experience one winter, one loss, one
- 16:16mistake, one setback, and they forget
- 16:19about spring. [music] They forget that
- 16:21seasons change, so they give up. And
- 16:24they say things like, "I [music] tried
- 16:27and it didn't work, so I'm not meant to
- 16:29succeed. I failed once, so I'm a
- 16:32failure. The economy is bad right now,
- 16:34so there's no point in trying." But all
- 16:37of that is just a misunderstanding of
- 16:39seasons. Here's what strong people know.
- 16:42Winter teaches you how to prepare for
- 16:44spring. [music] Loss teaches you how to
- 16:46value what you have. Failure teaches you
- 16:49what doesn't work so you can try what
- 16:51does. So the question isn't [music] will
- 16:54I face a difficult season. The question
- 16:56is what will I learn during this season
- 16:59that makes me stronger because every
- 17:02season serves a purpose [music] right
- 17:04now. Maybe you're in a winter, maybe
- 17:07business is slow. Maybe the relationship
- 17:09is hard. Maybe the goal seems
- 17:12impossible. [music] But that's just a
- 17:14season. And if you understand that, you
- 17:17don't despair. You prepare, you [music]
- 17:20learn, you build, you strengthen your
- 17:23roots so that when spring comes, you're
- 17:25ready. Most people do the opposite. They
- 17:29despair in winter and they squander
- 17:31spring. Then they blame the calendar for
- 17:34their failure. Here's something nobody
- 17:36wants to hear. You can't change the
- 17:38other person. You can't change the
- 17:40government. [music] You can't change the
- 17:43economy. You can't change the past. You
- 17:46can only change you. But that's the
- 17:48hardest thing to accept, isn't it?
- 17:50Because it means the power was always in
- 17:52your hands. And if the power was always
- 17:55in your hands, then whose fault is this?
- 17:58That's the realization that transforms
- 18:00people. I talk to people who are broke
- 18:03and they say the system is rigged. Maybe
- 18:06it is, but you're still broke, aren't
- 18:08you? I talk to people who are unhealthy
- 18:11and they say food companies are evil.
- 18:13[music] Maybe they are, but you're still
- 18:16unhealthy, aren't you? I talk to people
- 18:18who are lonely and they say, "People
- 18:20don't understand me. Maybe they don't,
- 18:23but you're still lonely, aren't you?"
- 18:25And at some point, you have to ask
- 18:27yourself, are these problems or are
- 18:29these excuses?
- 18:31Because there's a difference. A problem
- 18:34is something external that affects you.
- 18:36An excuse is something external that you
- 18:38use to avoid responsibility. And here's
- 18:41the dangerous part. You can talk about
- 18:43problems all day. Other people will
- 18:46listen. Other people will sympathize.
- 18:48Other people will validate your victim
- 18:50story. [music] And it will feel good. It
- 18:53will feel like you have allies. But it
- 18:55won't change anything. Because the only
- 18:57person who can change your life is you.
- 19:00So here's what I'm asking you to do.
- 19:03Stop blaming the mirror for what you
- 19:05see. The mirror isn't bad. The mirror is
- 19:08just honest.
- 19:08>> [music]
- 19:09>> And if you don't like what you see, the
- 19:11solution isn't to break the mirror. The
- 19:13solution is to change what you're
- 19:15reflecting.
- 19:16That means if you're broke, [music] stop
- 19:19blaming the economy and start blaming
- 19:21your spending habits. If you're
- 19:23unhealthy, stop blaming your genes and
- 19:26start blaming your choices. If you're
- 19:28[music] lonely, stop blaming other
- 19:30people and start blaming your
- 19:32vulnerability.
- 19:33Because the moment you take
- 19:35responsibility, you take [music] power.
- 19:38And the moment you take power, you can
- 19:40change things. I want to tell you
- 19:42something about identity. Your identity
- 19:45isn't something you're born with. It's
- 19:47something you build. And you build it
- 19:50one day at a time. See, people think
- 19:52they can be one person during the week
- 19:54and a different person on the weekend.
- 19:56They think they can be irresponsible now
- 19:59and responsible later. They think they
- 20:01can have one identity for their job and
- 20:03another identity for their personal
- 20:05life. But that's not how identity works.
- 20:09Identity is the sum total of the
- 20:11decisions you make. Every decision
- 20:13either builds you or breaks you. So when
- 20:16you hit the snooze button instead of
- 20:18getting up, you're voting for laziness.
- 20:20When you eat the whole pizza instead of
- 20:22eating one slice, you're voting for
- 20:25indulgence. When you avoid the difficult
- 20:27conversation instead of having it,
- 20:30you're voting for cowardice. [music] And
- 20:32do it once, nobody cares. Do it a h 100
- 20:36times. Now you're a lazy, indulgent,
- 20:39cowardly [music] person. That's not
- 20:41judgment. That's just math. But here's
- 20:44the beautiful part. The opposite is also
- 20:47true. [music] When you get up early,
- 20:49you're voting for discipline. When you
- 20:51stop after one slice, you're voting for
- 20:54wisdom. When you have the difficult
- 20:56conversation, you're voting for courage.
- 20:59Do it once, nobody cares. Do it a h 100
- 21:02times. Now you're a disciplined, wise,
- 21:05courageous person. That's your real
- 21:08identity. Not what you tell people, not
- 21:11what you post on social media, but what
- 21:13you actually do when nobody's watching.
- 21:16So here's the question. [music] What
- 21:18identity are you building? Because that
- 21:21identity is the one that will determine
- 21:23your results. Jim Ran called this the
- 21:25slight edge. It's not about massive
- 21:28change. It's about making better
- 21:30decisions than average.
- 21:32And you don't need to make better
- 21:34decisions than the best people on the
- 21:36planet. You just need to make better
- 21:37decisions than average. That's it. If
- 21:4150% of people wake up early and 50% hit
- 21:44snooze and you choose to wake up early,
- 21:46you're in the top 50%. But most people
- 21:49don't even do that. [music] They choose
- 21:51the snooze button and then they wonder
- 21:53why they're not successful. But
- 21:55successful people don't wake up every
- 21:57morning and think, "Wow, I'm so
- 21:59disciplined. [music] They just wake up.
- 22:02They just do it. They just keep
- 22:04building." And one day they wake [music]
- 22:06up and they're a completely different
- 22:08person than they were 5 years ago. And
- 22:10that person is free. I want to paint you
- 22:13a picture. [music]
- 22:14Imagine that your life is a building.
- 22:17Your foundation is your philosophy. What
- 22:19you believe about yourself and the
- 22:21world. Your walls are your habits. what
- 22:24you do every single day. Your roof is
- 22:27your results, [music] the life you're
- 22:29living. Now, most people focus on the
- 22:32roof. They try to change the results
- 22:34without changing the foundation or the
- 22:36walls, and it doesn't work. A beautiful
- 22:39roof on a bad foundation is just an
- 22:42expensive disaster waiting to happen.
- 22:45So, let me ask you, what is your
- 22:47foundation? [music] Do you believe
- 22:49you're capable? Do you believe you
- 22:51deserve success? Do you believe you can
- 22:53change? Do you believe the effort is
- 22:56worth the result? Because if your
- 22:58foundation is built on doubt, fear and
- 23:01blame, then no amount of work will save
- 23:03you. [music] But if your foundation is
- 23:05built on responsibility, capability and
- 23:08vision, then you become unstoppable.
- 23:11Now given your foundation, what walls
- 23:13are you building? Are you building walls
- 23:16of discipline or walls of
- 23:17procrastination? [music] Are you
- 23:19building walls of learning or walls of
- 23:22ignorance? Are you building walls of
- 23:24action or walls of waiting? Because
- 23:27those walls will hold up your roof. And
- 23:30the roof that sits on top, [music] the
- 23:32results you're living right now, that's
- 23:34just the physical manifestation of
- 23:36what's underneath. You can't have a nice
- 23:38roof on a bad foundation. You can't have
- 23:41results you love when your habits are
- 23:43killing you. [music] So, here's what I
- 23:45want you to do. I want you to get really
- 23:47honest about your foundation and your
- 23:49walls. [music] Don't tell me what you
- 23:51wish your foundation was. Tell me what
- 23:53it actually is. Don't tell me what
- 23:56habits you wish you had. Tell me what
- 23:58habits you actually practice. [music]
- 24:00Because that's the only way to change.
- 24:03You have to see the truth. And then you
- 24:05have to be willing to rebuild. And
- 24:07rebuilding is not fun. Rebuilding is not
- 24:10quick. [music] Rebuilding is not easy.
- 24:13But it's the only way to change the
- 24:14roof. I want to talk to you about who
- 24:16you're becoming. Not who you are, not
- 24:19who you were, but who you're becoming.
- 24:22Because right now, you're in the process
- 24:24of becoming someone. That process
- 24:27doesn't stop. [music] It continues
- 24:29whether you're aware of it or not. The
- 24:31question is, are you becoming someone
- 24:33you admire [music] or someone you're
- 24:35disappointed by? Because one year from
- 24:37now, you will be a different person. 2
- 24:40years from now, you will be transformed.
- 24:435 years from now, you'll barely
- 24:45recognize yourself. But only if you're
- 24:47conscious about the transformation. Only
- 24:49if you're intentional. Only if you're
- 24:52taking responsibility for the person
- 24:53you're becoming. Most people just let it
- 24:56happen. They become bitter because they
- 24:58were disappointed over and over. They
- 25:00become weak because they quit too many
- 25:02times. [music] They become small because
- 25:04they played it safe. And then they say,
- 25:07"This is just who I am." But that's not
- 25:10true. That's who you became. And you can
- 25:13become someone different
- 25:15starting now. See, the person you want
- 25:18to become is not waiting for the perfect
- 25:20conditions. [music] They're waiting for
- 25:22the decision. They're waiting for you to
- 25:24look in the mirror and say, "Enough."
- 25:27Not enough as in I'm done. But enough as
- 25:30in I'm ready. Ready to change. [music]
- 25:33Ready to grow. Ready to become someone
- 25:36new. Because right now, you're carrying
- 25:39around an old version of yourself like a
- 25:41weight. You're telling old stories about
- 25:43why you can't. [music] You're
- 25:45reinforcing old beliefs about what
- 25:47you're limited to. You're defending an
- 25:49old identity that doesn't serve you
- 25:51anymore. And you're calling it loyalty.
- 25:54You're calling it consistency. You're
- 25:56calling it being realistic. [music] But
- 25:58it's just fear. Fear that if you try,
- 26:01you might fail. Fear that if you change,
- 26:04people won't recognize you. Fear that
- 26:07the new version of you might be too
- 26:08much. But here's what I know. The person
- 26:11you want to become is worth the fear.
- 26:14The future version of you, healthy,
- 26:17successful, free, capable, is worth the
- 26:20temporary discomfort of change. And
- 26:23change will be uncomfortable. [music] It
- 26:25will be hard. It will require you to do
- 26:28things you don't feel like doing.
- 26:29[music] But that's not a reason to stay
- 26:31the same. That's a reason to go allin.
- 26:34Now, I want to give you something
- 26:35practical. I want to give you the daily
- 26:38practice that will rebuild your life.
- 26:40This isn't magical. This isn't
- 26:42complicated, but it works. And it works
- 26:45because it's based on philosophy, not
- 26:48motivation. Here's the practice.
- 26:52Every single morning.
- 26:54One, you wake up 30 minutes earlier than
- 26:57you normally do. Two, you spend 10
- 26:59minutes in silence. No phone, no noise,
- 27:02[music]
- 27:03just you and your thoughts. Three, you
- 27:05reflect on this. Who do I need to become
- 27:08today to move toward the life I want?
- 27:10Four, you spend 20 minutes on one of
- 27:13these. Read, write, listen to something
- 27:16educational or exercise.
- 27:19That's it. That's the entire practice.
- 27:2230 [music] minutes. Now, why this works?
- 27:25The silence reconnects you to your
- 27:27values. The reflection puts you in
- 27:29control of your identity. The practice,
- 27:32reading, writing, listening, moving
- 27:35compounds over time. And here's [music]
- 27:38the thing. If you do this every single
- 27:40day, you'll change. Not because you're
- 27:43special, not because you have more
- 27:45talent than anyone else, but because
- 27:47you're being consistent. Most people
- 27:50read one book and expect their life to
- 27:52change. Most people go to the gym once
- 27:54and expect to get fit. Most people go to
- 27:56therapy once and expect to be healed.
- 27:59But change doesn't work that way. Change
- 28:02works through repetition. Change works
- 28:04through doing the thing even when it's
- 28:06boring. Even when it doesn't feel
- 28:08motivating, [music] even when you can't
- 28:10see the results yet, that's the whole
- 28:12game. And after 30 days of this
- 28:15practice, you'll feel different. After
- 28:1890 days, people will notice. [music]
- 28:20After 365 days, you'll be a completely
- 28:24different person. And that different
- 28:26person will have a completely different
- 28:28life.
- 28:29But it all starts with the decision to
- 28:31wake up 30 minutes earlier. I want to
- 28:33tell you something about perspective.
- 28:36Everything you see depends on where
- 28:37you're standing. From where a child
- 28:40stands, an adult is powerful and scary.
- 28:42From where an adult stands, a parent is
- 28:45powerless and disappointing. From where
- 28:47a billion-doll company stands, a
- 28:49million-doll company seems small. From
- 28:52where a million-doll company stands, a
- 28:54billionaire seems unreachable.
- 28:56But they're all just looking at
- 28:58different parts of the same reality. And
- 29:01what's powerful about this is this. You
- 29:04can shift your perspective. You can
- 29:06choose to look at your current situation
- 29:08as evidence of why you'll fail. Or you
- 29:10can choose to look at it as evidence
- 29:12that you need to change. Both
- 29:14perspectives are true, but one
- 29:16perspective keeps you stuck and the
- 29:19other perspective liberates you. See,
- 29:21when you're broke, you can think, "I'll
- 29:23never have money. Look at where I am."
- 29:25Or you can think, "I'm here because I
- 29:27didn't know how to make money, [music]
- 29:29but I can learn." Same situation,
- 29:32different perspective, different
- 29:34results. [music]
- 29:35When you're out of shape, you can think,
- 29:37"This is just how my body is." Or you
- 29:40can think, "This is what happens when I
- 29:43don't prioritize health. I can change
- 29:45this." When you're alone, you can think,
- 29:48"I'm unlovable." Or you can [music]
- 29:50think, "I haven't learned how to connect
- 29:52with people. I can learn. The situation
- 29:56doesn't change, but your power in that
- 29:58situation changes when your perspective
- 30:01changes. And that power is what creates
- 30:03momentum. That power is what makes you
- 30:06dangerous to your own limitations. I
- 30:09want to say something to you that might
- 30:10hurt. The version of you that exists
- 30:13today, that version is not going to get
- 30:15you to where you want to go. That
- 30:17version is who created your current
- 30:19situation. And you can't get a different
- 30:22result from the same person. [music] So
- 30:24you have to change. And the good news is
- 30:27you already know that. [music] That's
- 30:29why you're here. That's why you're
- 30:31listening. Because some part of you is
- 30:33dying to become someone new. Some part
- 30:36of you is tired of the excuses. Some
- 30:38part of you is tired of waiting. Some
- 30:41part of you is tired of being small.
- 30:44Then that part of you is right. So
- 30:46here's my question. What are you going
- 30:48to do? Are you going to forget what you
- 30:51just heard? Are you going to go back to
- 30:53your old life [music] and pretend this
- 30:55didn't hit you? Or are you going to
- 30:57choose to become someone new? Because
- 30:59this moment matters. This moment is the
- 31:02moment where the old version of you dies
- 31:04or gets another year. [music] And I
- 31:06can't make that choice for you. Your
- 31:09best friend can't make that choice for
- 31:10you. Your parents can't make that choice
- 31:13for you. No amount of motivation can
- 31:15make that choice for you. Only you. Only
- 31:19you can decide that the person you've
- 31:20been is no longer acceptable. Only you
- 31:23can decide that your old philosophy is a
- 31:25liability. Only you can decide to wake
- 31:28up early and start building. Only you.
- 31:31So let me ask you directly. Are you
- 31:34ready? Because if you are, everything
- 31:36changes starting now, not tomorrow, not
- 31:40Monday, [music] not next year, now. The
- 31:44person who has the discipline to read
- 31:46one more page after this video ends is
- 31:49already becoming different. The person
- 31:51who wakes up early tomorrow is already
- 31:53becoming different. [music] The person
- 31:55who exercises even though they don't
- 31:57feel like it is already becoming
- 31:59different. And that person that person
- 32:02who's becoming [music] that's the person
- 32:04who wins. That's the person who looks
- 32:06back in 5 years and says [music] I'm so
- 32:09glad I decided to change. Not. I wish I
- 32:12had changed, but I'm glad I did. Here's
- 32:15what I want you to remember. [music] You
- 32:17are not your circumstances. You are not
- 32:19your past. You are not even your
- 32:22feelings. [music] You are your choices.
- 32:24And starting right now, you get to
- 32:26choose. You can choose discipline. You
- 32:29can choose growth. You can choose
- 32:31responsibility. You can choose to become
- 32:34someone new. The weak version of you,
- 32:36the version that makes excuses, that
- 32:39waits for perfect conditions, that
- 32:41blames other people. That version of you
- 32:43is a choice. And choices can be changed.
- 32:47So let the weak version die. [music] Let
- 32:50it go. Not with anger, not with
- 32:52judgment, but with clear intention. Let
- 32:55that version go and [music] become
- 32:57someone new. Someone who wakes up early,
- 33:00someone who reads, someone who
- 33:03exercises, [music] someone who has
- 33:05difficult conversations, someone who
- 33:07takes responsibility, someone who keeps
- 33:09going even when it's hard. That person
- 33:12is already inside you. They're just
- 33:14waiting for you to choose them. And that
- 33:17choice [music] that's available to you
- 33:19right now, not when you feel motivated,
- 33:22not when the conditions are perfect.
- 33:23[music] right now. So, what are you
- 33:25going to do? Are you going to close this
- 33:28video and forget? Or are you going to
- 33:30wake up tomorrow and start building?
- 33:32Because I promise you, that future
- 33:35version of you, the one who did the
- 33:37work, [music] the one who didn't quit,
- 33:39the one who kept building, they're going
- 33:41to be so grateful. [music] And that
- 33:43gratitude will be worth every cold
- 33:45morning, every difficult decision, every
- 33:48time you chose the hard right over the
- 33:50easy wrong. [music] The weak version of
- 33:53yourself dies today and a stronger
- 33:55version is born. [music] Welcome to your
- 33:58new life. The only question now is, are
- 34:01you going to live
