  2. 0:15hey it's Andrew Clen with this week's
  3. 0:16interview with both Kevin Sorbo and Rick
  4. 0:19schroer sometimes called Ricky Schroeder
  5. 0:21two terrific actors who are doing
  6. 0:23excellent work fighting back against the
  7. 0:27incredibly decayed uh culture of
  8. 0:29Hollywood I got a phone call about a
  9. 0:31week ago from a friend of mine a
  10. 0:33successful uh Hollywood worker I don't
  11. 0:35want to identify him too much but he is
  12. 0:37a guy in the movie business who does
  13. 0:38very well and he told me an interesting
  14. 0:40story he said you know when you talk in
  15. 0:42public when people talk in public about
  16. 0:43the films that came out this year they
  17. 0:45all talk about Barbie and Oppenheimer
  18. 0:47but behind closed doors the only movie
  19. 0:50they talk about is sound of Freedom the
  20. 0:52Jim cavel Thriller with a real Christian
  21. 0:55bent and he said they all just want to
  22. 0:58know how do they reach that audience how
  23. 1:00do they uh do do the kinds of things
  24. 1:02that that film did because that film
  25. 1:03made over hundred million dollars and
  26. 1:05circumvented the Hollywood distribution
  27. 1:07monopo with the help of Angel Studios
  28. 1:10this is as you will know if you've been
  29. 1:12listening to my show this is an amazing
  30. 1:14moment Hollywood is hurting the woke
  31. 1:18storytelling the leftist propaganda is
  32. 1:21only really word for it and The
  33. 1:23Blacklist against anybody who disagrees
  34. 1:25with wokeness or leftism uh has really
  35. 1:28hurt their bottom line and has left an
  36. 1:30opening for storytellers who are willing
  37. 1:32to go off the grid and do stuff that's
  38. 1:35original and different and these are two
  39. 1:37actors that I wanted to talk to
  40. 1:38specifically because they're doing it
  41. 1:40you all know Kevin Sorbo I'm sure he was
  42. 1:42Hercules back in the day uh also was in
  43. 1:45the
  44. 1:46incredibly uh popular Christian film
  45. 1:49God's not dead and and by the way I
  46. 1:51think films like God's Not Dead have
  47. 1:52created the audience helped create the
  48. 1:54audience that has made films like um
  49. 1:57sound of Freedom possible and has made
  50. 1:58this created this Market maret basically
  51. 2:00and Rick rer of course won the Golden
  52. 2:02Globe Award he's the youngest recipient
  53. 2:04I think of the Golden Globe Award for
  54. 2:06the champ he was in one of my favorite
  55. 2:07TV shows NYPD Blue but he's also
  56. 2:10produced uh and actually directed films
  57. 2:13like black cloud the Anthology film
  58. 2:15locker 13 which I also enjoyed very much
  59. 2:17guys it is great to see you it's great
  60. 2:19to have you here thanks for coming on
  61. 2:20Pleasure good to be here so let let's
  62. 2:22just start by talking I'll start with
  63. 2:24you Kevin because you've been in in the
  64. 2:26sort of Christian uh film making field
  65. 2:31do have you suffered basically for for
  66. 2:33who you are for what you believe in
  67. 2:35Hollywood or I mean it looks like look
  68. 2:37you know God's Not Dead films like are
  69. 2:39so successful I don't want to talk about
  70. 2:41you suffering like you know like
  71. 2:43terrible suffering but really have you
  72. 2:44paid a price for that in Hollywood oh no
  73. 2:47no question no question Hollywood loves
  74. 2:49me
  75. 2:50um I think I think I'm the original
  76. 2:52cancell culture victim with when my
  77. 2:54agents of many many decades and my
  78. 2:56manager called me into their office says
  79. 2:58about 10 11 years years ago and said we
  80. 3:00can't work you any longer it was like an
  81. 3:02intervention of shorts and I had to
  82. 3:03laugh at it cuz I said you know you guys
  83. 3:05are the ones you're the industry that
  84. 3:06always screams for tolerance and freedom
  85. 3:08of speech but we all know it's they're
  86. 3:10Hypocrites it's all a one-way street
  87. 3:11with them so um I form Soros studios.com
  88. 3:14to do my own independent movies I love
  89. 3:15the industry just like Ricky does we
  90. 3:17love what we do we love the creation I
  91. 3:19love the creative process on both sides
  92. 3:21of the camera I actually started
  93. 3:22directing back in my Hercules here so
  94. 3:24that's always been a big part of my life
  95. 3:26so um my first really unapologetically
  96. 3:29fake f based movie is actually called
  97. 3:31what if and it's from the same writers
  98. 3:32that did God's Not Dead I've shot over
  99. 3:3480 movies what if in my book is a much
  100. 3:36better movie than God's not dead but it
  101. 3:38also shows you when independent movies
  102. 3:40as Rick knows we don't have a $100
  103. 3:42million advertising budget for a 300 for
  104. 3:44a $3 million movie so how do you get it
  105. 3:46out there you need strong word of mouth
  106. 3:47well God's Not Dead benefited from that
  107. 3:49what if written by the same guys Chuck
  108. 3:51and Cary they recently came out with
  109. 3:53nefarious they had unplanned a few years
  110. 3:55ago as well great writers it was
  111. 3:57directed by Dallas Jenkins who's now
  112. 3:59doing the chosen which is like massive
  113. 4:01around the world so I've been very
  114. 4:03blessed to kind of keep down that road
  115. 4:05and do movies that Hollywood used to do
  116. 4:07they don't have to be faith-based but
  117. 4:09Hollywood used to the movies that had
  118. 4:10hope had love had Redemption had
  119. 4:12laughter in them the good guy wins they
  120. 4:14don't do that anymore uh I think the 60s
  121. 4:17changed all that uh they started
  122. 4:18celebrating the the evil they started
  123. 4:20celebrating the anti-hero but it's just
  124. 4:22gotten worse each decade and it's just
  125. 4:24crazy I'm going to keep doing these
  126. 4:25movies and uh I didn't need Hollywood
  127. 4:27it's fine I they owe me nothing and I'm
  128. 4:29going to keep doing what I'm doing it's
  129. 4:31it is amazing it's it it goes beneath
  130. 4:33the radar because nobody covers it
  131. 4:35nefarious was a really good film I mean
  132. 4:37it was really creative and just takes
  133. 4:39place basically in one room with two
  134. 4:41characters and yet was was riveting it's
  135. 4:43terrific uh Rick you you actually are
  136. 4:47more openly conservative I mean you're
  137. 4:49both conservatives but you've kind of
  138. 4:51been you haven't been centered in a
  139. 4:53Christian film making you've been
  140. 4:54talking about uh your conservative ideas
  141. 4:57and you also during the co shutdowns
  142. 5:01were very outspoken and I remember
  143. 5:03people saying this was controversial is
  144. 5:05the word they always use when they
  145. 5:06disagree with you and I was thinking I
  146. 5:08don't say was controversial about being
  147. 5:10against these shutdowns but do you feel
  148. 5:12that you have had to move uphill move
  149. 5:15against the wind because of your
  150. 5:17opinions or or
  151. 5:19not yes absolutely um never quite fit in
  152. 5:23in Hollywood you know I I never really
  153. 5:25kind of felt like an actor there
  154. 5:27actually I felt always like an asset
  155. 5:29there
  156. 5:30um I never quite was invited to all the
  157. 5:33the clubs and the the cool parties and
  158. 5:36so um you know that's why I started real
  159. 5:38American Heroes I started this nonprofit
  160. 5:40because the diversity equity and
  161. 5:42inclusion guidelines at the Academy I
  162. 5:45became an academy member when I was I
  163. 5:47think eight years old and a few years
  164. 5:50ago they changed the guidelines so that
  165. 5:52you um you couldn't be eligible for the
  166. 5:55best picture category for the Oscar if
  167. 5:57you didn't have lgbtq Q Plus Characters
  168. 6:01themes of your story uh your crew had to
  169. 6:04be wait is that right is that right you
  170. 6:06cannot be eligible for the best best
  171. 6:09picture I did not know yeah and so they
  172. 6:12they totally you know art is free it's
  173. 6:14always supposed to be free um it's never
  174. 6:16supposed to be controlled you're
  175. 6:17supposed to be able to say what you want
  176. 6:19um hire who you want work with who you
  177. 6:21want um you don't have to hire um who
  178. 6:24they say you have to hire but that's
  179. 6:26what the Academy's done um these Dei
  180. 6:29requirement and it really offended me
  181. 6:31and I decided Hollywood had fallen at
  182. 6:33that point and uh I needed to still I
  183. 6:36still want to tell stories and still
  184. 6:37work and do stuff so I had a vision to
  185. 6:39create Patriot PBS is what we want to
  186. 6:42create we want to create an a PBS
  187. 6:45alternative where we become an
  188. 6:47aggregator for everybody else's stories
  189. 6:50and we start putting out proper
  190. 6:52programming because everybody's getting
  191. 6:54programmed out there by what they listen
  192. 6:56to what they watch what they hear and so
  193. 6:59we need to sort of Turn Around the
  194. 7:00programming and you know as Kevin
  195. 7:02mentioned earlier you know back in the
  196. 7:04old the old days black and white film
  197. 7:05era I love watching Black and Whites
  198. 7:07today the characters always did the
  199. 7:09right things they had morals they had
  200. 7:11standards they had values and then the
  201. 7:13anti-hero like Kevin mentioned came into
  202. 7:16existence and you started having all
  203. 7:18these very flawed characters um you know
  204. 7:21I was watching Titanic the other day
  205. 7:23with my girlfriend and you think about
  206. 7:26the characters involved you know they're
  207. 7:28not honorable people they're they're
  208. 7:30betraying each other they're lying
  209. 7:32behind each other's backs they're uh
  210. 7:34trying to seduce each other when one's
  211. 7:36engaged it's it's like
  212. 7:38this you know it's it's we celebrate
  213. 7:42that kind of you know moral decline you
  214. 7:45know Idols in the Bible I was reading
  215. 7:47the Bible today and Idols it says stay
  216. 7:49away from Idols we don't want Idols well
  217. 7:53you think about American Idol now the
  218. 7:55show and you think about Survivor the
  219. 7:57reality show that's that changed
  220. 8:00television the goal is to get the idol
  221. 8:03you know to win the idol to so you know
  222. 8:06they they use our words against us they
  223. 8:08go into the Bible and they try to
  224. 8:10confuse people but um so when you want
  225. 8:13to build the big thing people people
  226. 8:16don't know this if they're not in the
  227. 8:18business it's it's it's one thing to
  228. 8:20make a movie it's one thing to make a
  229. 8:21show the thing is to get it seen I mean
  230. 8:24that is an incredibly hard thing to do
  231. 8:26and the distribution paths the paths to
  232. 8:28distributed people are are blocked I
  233. 8:32mean they're very uh they're very much
  234. 8:34dominated by the left and by the
  235. 8:36Hollywood mainstream so I want to know
  236. 8:39I'll go back to you Kevin first but like
  237. 8:41when you say you're making these films
  238. 8:43how do you get them out there how do you
  239. 8:45get them from the place where you are in
  240. 8:47an editing room you know cutting up the
  241. 8:49picture until it works and then you've
  242. 8:52got a picture where do you go well
  243. 8:54there's a couple of distribution Outlets
  244. 8:55that I like to use they don't have the
  245. 8:57Creative Accounting that most of
  246. 8:58Hollywood does
  247. 9:00um where they'll cheat you out of
  248. 9:01anything I used to joke with my old
  249. 9:02manager I said you know I don't know why
  250. 9:04they call it a backend deal because now
  251. 9:06I figured out you basically take it in
  252. 9:07the back end I mean
  253. 9:10that's absolutely crazy and I I I
  254. 9:13remember one time I said you know
  255. 9:15Hercules was largely successful in fact
  256. 9:17by our third year we were the most
  257. 9:18watched show in the world in 176
  258. 9:20countries they did that show for seven
  259. 9:22years you can talk to any television
  260. 9:23producer if you're going into your third
  261. 9:25and fourth year in TV series you're
  262. 9:26making money there's a lot more money in
  263. 9:28TV than there is in movies and um I just
  264. 9:31said why do I have to sue for my back
  265. 9:33end why why didn't I just tell the truth
  266. 9:35he goes well it's just part of doing
  267. 9:36business in Hollywood I went what so
  268. 9:39they're it they're like they're all
  269. 9:40locked into this thing where it's okay
  270. 9:41to lie cheat and deceive each other um I
  271. 9:44remember going to some of these Premier
  272. 9:46movies with all these a-listers around I
  273. 9:47remember turning to my wife Sam I said I
  274. 9:50said do you feel the desperation in this
  275. 9:51room because you can feel it and I agree
  276. 9:53with I've never I never felt like a
  277. 9:55Hollywood guy that's why I lived in
  278. 9:57Thousand Oaks I want to be near but far
  279. 9:59enough away from it all you know and
  280. 10:01it's the the biggest thing with getting
  281. 10:02movies made number one is just get them
  282. 10:04funded I mean my movies are in the 3
  283. 10:06million range that sounds like a lot of
  284. 10:07money that's catering budget in Pirates
  285. 10:09of the Caribbean those are massive
  286. 10:11movies and then how do we get it out
  287. 10:13there because we don't have that big
  288. 10:14budget movie we got to do what we can we
  289. 10:16got to reach out to anybody and
  290. 10:18everybody there's 80 million homes in
  291. 10:20America that want the kind of product I
  292. 10:21do look I did a movie called let there
  293. 10:23be light that Sean Hannity funded did
  294. 10:25very well uh $2.3 million budget movie
  295. 10:29open number two per screen average
  296. 10:31against Thor Ragnarok a $300 million
  297. 10:33movie I get a call from Netflix on
  298. 10:35Monday after opening weekend I said hey
  299. 10:37you have a foot in this inspirational
  300. 10:39world we want to open an inspiration
  301. 10:40division here at Netflix I had three
  302. 10:43four meetings with him over the next
  303. 10:44like seven eight weeks ultimately they
  304. 10:47did nothing it was all just lip service
  305. 10:49their idiology is so filled with hate
  306. 10:51and anger towards someone like me and in
  307. 10:53in in I mean being a Christian and a
  308. 10:56conservative is like being a double
  309. 10:57leper in Hollywood but you know I just
  310. 10:59I'm doing what I can to get it out there
  311. 11:01I had two movies in theaters last year
  312. 11:02but you know they weren't out there very
  313. 11:04long because they didn't have a big
  314. 11:05following but uh we don't have the big
  315. 11:08advertising budget I mean but they're
  316. 11:09wonderful movies wonderful stories and
  317. 11:11it's it's it's unfortunate and now
  318. 11:13through my through Sorbo studios.com I
  319. 11:16get people going hey I just saw your
  320. 11:17movie um you know Left Behind rise of
  321. 11:20the Antichrist it's awesome you know I
  322. 11:21go well spread the word because we need
  323. 11:23word you know Rick I was thinking when
  324. 11:26you said you wanted to make a a
  325. 11:27patriotic PBS I mean that's the kind of
  326. 11:31thing like I might wake up at 3:00 in
  327. 11:33the morning and think that was a good
  328. 11:34idea but the next thought would be like
  329. 11:36how where do you even start how do you
  330. 11:38start to do that I mean PBS is obviously
  331. 11:40partly Government funding it's got all
  332. 11:42these channels how where do you
  333. 11:44begin well you know how eat an elephant
  334. 11:47right one spoonful at a
  335. 11:50time you just gota you just got to put
  336. 11:53one step in front of the other you got
  337. 11:55to create some content that's that's
  338. 11:57people want to see number one and so
  339. 12:00once you have some content they want to
  340. 12:02see you know there's it it'll find its
  341. 12:05way look look like you said um that one
  342. 12:08film just the one you mentioned earlier
  343. 12:11um sound the children um being
  344. 12:14trafficked look how they did it I mean
  345. 12:16they did it one step at a time they were
  346. 12:18able they shot that five years ago it
  347. 12:21took that long to get it going yeah so
  348. 12:24you can't you can't worry about what's
  349. 12:25down the road you just got to do what's
  350. 12:27in front of you and take it one bite at
  351. 12:28a time and so we're just starting right
  352. 12:30now producing a documentary series
  353. 12:32called erotic erosion that's going to
  354. 12:34look at the decline of the standards and
  355. 12:36values of our society since the rise of
  356. 12:39Internet pornography if you really think
  357. 12:41about it the camera before the camera
  358. 12:43was invented the only way you can engage
  359. 12:46in perversion was to engage it a see
  360. 12:49experience perversion was to engage in
  361. 12:52at yourself or to witness it once the
  362. 12:54camera was invented 150 years ago you
  363. 12:57could now distribute it and so we sort
  364. 13:00of are looking at sort of since the
  365. 13:02Genesis of the camera how perversion has
  366. 13:04been disseminated into everybody's homes
  367. 13:07and their minds through this you know
  368. 13:09device and so um erotic erosion is a
  369. 13:13documentary series looking at the
  370. 13:14decline of of our society after 45 years
  371. 13:18of internet porn are you aware that when
  372. 13:20internet porn first came out it was in
  373. 13:23the XXX URL and so it was easily to
  374. 13:26block at your house because you could
  375. 13:28put a URL blocker well then a lot of the
  376. 13:32church leaders of the day were offended
  377. 13:34that there was such thing as axxx URL so
  378. 13:37they had it shut down and all that
  379. 13:40pornography went to the.com world where
  380. 13:43you could no longer block it so we you
  381. 13:45know we have five goals at the Council
  382. 13:47on pornography reform which is one of
  383. 13:49our our missions and one of them is to
  384. 13:51put all adult content back into the tri
  385. 13:54XX
  386. 13:55URL and then another thing we want is we
  387. 13:57want an off switch
  388. 13:59Americans love choice right freedom of
  389. 14:01choice they say freedom of choice well
  390. 14:04we want the choice to have adult content
  391. 14:06turned off to our devices and to our
  392. 14:09homes um you know if you pay the bill to
  393. 14:12AT&T or Verizon there's absolutely no
  394. 14:14reason you have to have this push to
  395. 14:16your your your family and to your house
  396. 14:19um and so you know that's easily doable
  397. 14:22for them there's no such thing as
  398. 14:23Internet pornography in many countries
  399. 14:25around the world and so they can
  400. 14:27actually shut it down
  401. 14:29so with atic corrosion our documentary
  402. 14:31series we'll be talking to experts about
  403. 14:33the First Amendment for
  404. 14:34example and how the first amendment was
  405. 14:37uh written to protect freedom of speech
  406. 14:40against um political opposition you
  407. 14:42could say what you wanted against the
  408. 14:44government and not be afraid right
  409. 14:45that's why but then they changed uh
  410. 14:48freedom of speech they defined it as
  411. 14:50freedom of
  412. 14:51expression doesn't say that in the
  413. 14:53Constitution it says freedom of speech
  414. 14:56but freedom of expression then included
  415. 14:58pictures because that's a form of
  416. 15:00expression the Supreme Court ruled and
  417. 15:02now pornography was covered under the
  418. 15:05First Amendment so you know just because
  419. 15:08we've been duped by by this this world
  420. 15:11doesn't mean we have to stay duped by by
  421. 15:13this world's you know these politicians
  422. 15:16and so we have some goals at CPR Council
  423. 15:18on pornography reform that we're going
  424. 15:20to be focused on in the erotic erosion
  425. 15:22series to try to push uh these ideas
  426. 15:25because we want Americans to come
  427. 15:26together all of us as as far as on this
  428. 15:29issue um protecting our kids and doing
  429. 15:32age verification and you know Ai and if
  430. 15:35we get a win for We the People Andrew
  431. 15:38and we can get energy behind this kind
  432. 15:39of Reform and show that our government
  433. 15:41can work for our families then maybe
  434. 15:44this a government worth
  435. 15:45saving and and it's a government then
  436. 15:48that we can we can unite all those
  437. 15:50people in that energy and move into the
  438. 15:51next issue which is like balanced budget
  439. 15:54amendment we're all getting poorer in
  440. 15:56this country so you're fa focusing on
  441. 16:00issues and and do you think you have a a
  442. 16:02lane to
  443. 16:05distribute well yeah I mean we have our
  444. 16:07own platform to put it up it's it's we
  445. 16:09can distribute the the question is can
  446. 16:11you get it seen can you promote it sure

  490. 17:40this easy there are no EAS
  491. 17:44in you know Kevin when you mentioned
  492. 17:47Netflix I I was thinking the other day I
  493. 17:50saw on Apple TV I saw a Mark Wahlberg
  494. 17:53comedy action film with Bridget Monahan
  495. 17:56and and it was It was kind of cute you
  496. 17:58know made me laugh and and it was had
  497. 18:00very good family values I know Wahlberg
  498. 18:02is a good you know strong Family Guy and
  499. 18:04and Christian guy and I and I've seen
  500. 18:06other things on Apple Tom Hanks uh
  501. 18:09submarine movie where he played this
  502. 18:12actual Bible reading praying uh you know
  503. 18:16leader commander of a submarine I was
  504. 18:18sitting there with my eyes my eyes were
  505. 18:19like saucers I I couldn't believe I was
  506. 18:21actually watching it but Apple TV seems
  507. 18:23to have opened up a little bit of a lane
  508. 18:25for that kind of content they they're
  509. 18:28also have a uh a film that looks a
  510. 18:30little bit like um Band of Brothers
  511. 18:33about the fly Boys in World War II which
  512. 18:35I'm that that to me is like heroin I'm
  513. 18:37like going to watch every minute of that
  514. 18:39probably twice so I I guess what I'm
  515. 18:42wondering is when they see a film like
  516. 18:44sound of Freedom make a100 millionar you
  517. 18:47know when when when Gibson made Passion
  518. 18:49of the Christ and he basically took
  519. 18:51money out of his pocket and and made you
  520. 18:54know so much money they did start all
  521. 18:56these faith-based little
  522. 18:59uh enclaves within the big studios but
  523. 19:02they seem to be unable to turn out
  524. 19:04things that people who actually had
  525. 19:06Faith wanted to watch so they would make
  526. 19:08a film about Moses and then come out and
  527. 19:09say Moses was a terrorist or they you
  528. 19:11know they make they'd make all these
  529. 19:13films that kind of insulted the people
  530. 19:14who were supposed to see them is there a
  531. 19:16lane or do we have to reinvent Hollywood
  532. 19:18do we have to make something completely
  533. 19:21different well Hollywood I think needs
  534. 19:23to wake up I don't know what it takes to
  535. 19:25wake up I mean look at Disney wal Disney
  536. 19:27said back in the 19 1950s that movies
  537. 19:29and television will influence our youth
  538. 19:31well hello um I think he's flipping his
  539. 19:33Brave right now what Disney has done to
  540. 19:35his name uh because he's not the type
  541. 19:37movies he wants to put out I I I'm sure
  542. 19:39it's more money than this I heard a$ 1.4
  543. 19:42billion doll loss for them last year so
  544. 19:43I'm many how many more years they want
  545. 19:45to keep doing that I don't know I mean I
  546. 19:47I heard they're going to redo It's a
  547. 19:49Wonderful Life and they want to have a
  548. 19:51diverse cast in that they're redoing
  549. 19:53what's the other one they're looking at
  550. 19:54I mean wizard of O wizard wizard of O
  551. 19:57that's right so I'm looking going are
  552. 19:58you kidding me you guys are doing this
  553. 20:00it's it's it's it it's it's just strange
  554. 20:03what they're doing and why they're doing
  555. 20:05it and I I don't know if they're going
  556. 20:06to wake up to the fact look look what
  557. 20:08they did to the movie Noah with Russell
  558. 20:09Crow I got invited to Paramount release
  559. 20:11of that they it was it was on the lot of
  560. 20:13Paramount and God's on dead had just
  561. 20:15come out and was doing amazingly well I
  562. 20:18mean that $2 million movie made $140
  563. 20:19million it's crazy and so we're sitting
  564. 20:22there watching this my wife looks over
  565. 20:24at me halfway through the screening this
  566. 20:25cuz number one they made Noah like a
  567. 20:27schizophrenic alcoholic hellbent and
  568. 20:29killing his family at the end of the
  569. 20:30journey and then my wife says this isn't
  570. 20:32the story of Noah it's Water World means
  571. 20:34Transformers is what it is and that's
  572. 20:36what they did with it and at the end of
  573. 20:38the movie the guy the only probably the
  574. 20:41only faith-based producer on the set
  575. 20:43came out and he said because people were
  576. 20:45going crazy in this movie what are you
  577. 20:46doing in this movie he said well number
  578. 20:48one they hired an
  579. 20:50atheist in the land that's run by quite
  580. 20:53a few of the people from that in they're
  581. 20:55Jewish why would they hire an atheist
  582. 20:57person to do an Old Testament you know
  583. 21:00story that's as popular as no it makes
  584. 21:02no sense to me and then somebody asked
  585. 21:04them not knowing I was there I was back
  586. 21:06in the middle like 40 rows back guy says
  587. 21:08well why doesn't Hollywood do more
  588. 21:10independent movies like God's Not Dead
  589. 21:11look at the success of that movie and he
  590. 21:13says well we'll leave the independent
  591. 21:15movies to the independent people out
  592. 21:17there we're going to keep doing the big
  593. 21:18Blockbusters so he didn't really answer
  594. 21:20the question but um I don't know when
  595. 21:22they're going to wake up I mean it's
  596. 21:23weird that you have to keep H them over
  597. 21:25the head with a successive sound of
  598. 21:26freedom and they helped that by the way
  599. 21:29when Hollywood came out and basically
  600. 21:30said wait a minute we're for child sex
  601. 21:35trafficking that just made more people
  602. 21:37don't want to see the movie on both
  603. 21:39sides of the political AIS because I
  604. 21:41most I think most people left or right
  605. 21:44is against having sex with 5-year-olds
  606. 21:46it's just that uh you know it it hurt
  607. 21:48them but it helped the movie quite a bit
  608. 21:50you know I went and saw a screening of
  609. 21:52it at the Museum of the Bible in
  610. 21:53Washington DC and I looked around and I
  611. 21:56thought why is everybody here Christian
  612. 21:59doesn't every isn't everybody against
  613. 22:00this but apparently not and certainly
  614. 22:02not in Hollywood uh where they famously
  615. 22:04are are uh you know are doing things
  616. 22:07like this I I guess I'm really
  617. 22:09interested in in systems to be honest
  618. 22:11with you like I I mean this this idea
  619. 22:13you know Rick you you talked about
  620. 22:16putting material up and I I think this
  621. 22:18porn subject is huge I think it's a an
  622. 22:20absolutely destructive force and as you
  623. 22:23say you know it's one thing if there was
  624. 22:25a magazine behind a counter where you
  625. 22:27have to go up and sh name yourself to
  626. 22:28buy a magazine but when all you have to
  627. 22:30do is press a button on your phone it's
  628. 22:31a it's a much much different force in
  629. 22:33our Andrew and Andrew I remember when I
  630. 22:36was a kid 7-Eleven got girly magazines
  631. 22:39and I was like maybe 10 years old and I
  632. 22:41couldn't believe they were behind you
  633. 22:44know they were behind the cast register
  634. 22:46and then a couple years later they moved
  635. 22:48to the aisle like now you can actually
  636. 22:51access them and then internet porn came
  637. 22:54out and uh I saw my first pornography
  638. 22:57image at
  639. 22:59wow wow and that was prior to the
  640. 23:01internet well did you have problem you
  641. 23:03know I don't want to I don't want to get
  642. 23:04too personal but I mean you were a child
  643. 23:06star and one of the famous things that
  644. 23:08they talk about child stars are always
  645. 23:10in danger did you feel that you were in
  646. 23:13danger yes really I didn't I mean I
  647. 23:15didn't I I knew I couldn't
  648. 23:18trust uh a lot of people around me yeah
  649. 23:21from a a young age you know so yeah I I
  650. 23:24I was around some pretty unsavory
  651. 23:26characters for sure yeah because because
  652. 23:29Hollywood really is a I mean it's funny
  653. 23:31I me there plenty of nice people in
  654. 23:33Hollywood and it's not a monolithic uh
  655. 23:35structure but this is one of the things
  656. 23:37about it that is absolutely you know you
  657. 23:40know I I I wrote a fantasy novel with
  658. 23:42that and at the core of it there was
  659. 23:44some child trafficking in Hollywood and
  660. 23:45I sent it to my agent it was very
  661. 23:47popular because I put it out as a
  662. 23:48podcast here at the daily wire and it
  663. 23:50did really well and I sent it to my
  664. 23:52agent and he said this is not what
  665. 23:54Hollywood is like I like yes it is I
  666. 23:56mean everybody knows everybody knows
  667. 23:58what it is but I want to know I want to
  668. 24:00know how you guys are thinking about the
  669. 24:03systems
  670. 24:05because it's like I said it's one thing
  671. 24:07to make content and if you're making
  672. 24:09documentary content you can fund that
  673. 24:10and if you have $3 million you can make
  674. 24:12a movie if you can raise that but but
  675. 24:14how do you get to that next stage where
  676. 24:17people can see it where people know it
  677. 24:18exists I mean like I I read about you
  678. 24:21guys and I'm I'm always following this
  679. 24:23because I think that this is the moment
  680. 24:25this is the moment when you can actually
  681. 24:27do something like this and and make it
  682. 24:29work because people are so sick of what
  683. 24:31they're saying
  684. 24:33so so are there people that you go to do
  685. 24:36I mean do you have people you know let
  686. 24:38me start with you Rick is there are
  687. 24:40there is there a network of people that
  688. 24:41you can go to that say we're going to
  689. 24:42help you we're going to fund this or do
  690. 24:45you just set out on down Hollywood
  691. 24:47Boulevard with a tin tin cop you know no
  692. 24:51I don't have a network right now it's
  693. 24:53all self-funded wow it's all
  694. 24:55self-created self-generated self
  695. 24:57distributed self I mean pretty much
  696. 25:00promoted yeah so no I don't have a and I
  697. 25:04and intentionally I don't need sort of a
  698. 25:07network right now I can do certain
  699. 25:09things on my own as I need other assets
  700. 25:12to come on board I will reach out but
  701. 25:15you know sometimes the people that you
  702. 25:17bring into your network can influence
  703. 25:19things uh I I don't have a lot of trust
  704. 25:22for a lot of folks and so it's better
  705. 25:24just sort of to do things myself when I
  706. 25:26can and then and then but I do need to
  707. 25:29learn to find Partners to work with yeah
  708. 25:32because you can't really make movies
  709. 25:33alone
  710. 25:34right no I mean you find crew for sure
  711. 25:37you hire people but I'm talking about
  712. 25:38you're talking about like distribution
  713. 25:40Partners yeah um I I I don't have them
  714. 25:43yet but I will search for them when I
  715. 25:46when I need to find them or I'll call
  716. 25:47Kevin say
  717. 25:49Kevin distribu Hey Kevin does stream
  718. 25:53does streaming change anything well I
  719. 25:55think it's it's here to stay obviously
  720. 25:57so another Avenue you talking about
  721. 25:59funders out there look I'm always
  722. 26:00looking for funders I I'm got a golf hat
  723. 26:04on I'm a big golfer I do a lot I get
  724. 26:05invited that whole celebrity thing I
  725. 26:07invited a lot of charity events and I
  726. 26:08golf with these very wealthy people then
  727. 26:11you find out they're like-minded like me
  728. 26:13they're like oh W the downfall of
  729. 26:14America the you know we're chrisan we're
  730. 26:16conservatives and then you sit there and
  731. 26:18talk to them about the movies I do and
  732. 26:20we're talking some of you guys are
  733. 26:22billionaires and I like I say three
  734. 26:24million bucks to rent a m they're making
  735. 26:26that much every day on a couple billion
  736. 26:28dollars out they're worth but they ah
  737. 26:30it's not something I do well we have a
  738. 26:31culture battle going on right now
  739. 26:33Hollywood is kicking our butt they
  740. 26:34really are they're controlling a lot of
  741. 26:36things I know there's a Tipping Point in
  742. 26:37there I know people that out there like
  743. 26:40you know what what Rick is doing what
  744. 26:41I'm doing what the Irwin Brothers are
  745. 26:43doing there people out there making good
  746. 26:44movies and good product and we just got
  747. 26:46to keep doing that and keep fighting
  748. 26:47that fight I get stopped all the time
  749. 26:49through airports hotel lobbies and
  750. 26:51people say hey keep making the movies
  751. 26:53you're making and I go well then keep
  752. 26:54supporting it any way you can yeah
  753. 26:56because we need that we need that help I
  754. 26:58don't have a I don't have a faucet I can
  755. 27:00turn on and make these movies I've got
  756. 27:01great scripts but it's hard to sit there
  757. 27:03and raise the money for them um I
  758. 27:06certain know people I can go to for
  759. 27:07distribution but I think for me the
  760. 27:09first important thing to me is just get
  761. 27:11money to make these scripts wow that
  762. 27:13that's that is really interesting I mean
  763. 27:15because I know look here at the daily
  764. 27:17wire this was our mission from the
  765. 27:19beginning but we had to build it up by
  766. 27:21doing political commentary because that
  767. 27:24you know unfortunately I think that
  768. 27:26that's a it's just a lot easier it's
  769. 27:27cheaper to do but it's also there's this
  770. 27:29audience kind of that eats it up but but
  771. 27:32it is it's just fascinating to me just
  772. 27:35if you take Fox News Fox News comes out
  773. 27:37and it takes over half the country
  774. 27:39basically it becomes this major major
  775. 27:41threat to this monolithic news industry
  776. 27:44and yet nobody imitates it it it takes
  777. 27:47it takes years decades before anybody
  778. 27:49says oh let's make an oan let's make a
  779. 27:50even a daily wi let's make all these
  780. 27:52different things where the audience was
  781. 27:54obviously there I sometimes wonder I
  782. 27:56mean is there a streaming service for
  783. 27:58Christian films there is and I wish
  784. 28:00there was an app for that as well to
  785. 28:02reach out to people because I mean you
  786. 28:04know I look I got a couple million
  787. 28:06people on Twitter alone can't I why
  788. 28:07can't I get a dollar from each one of
  789. 28:09them I don't know it' be great you know
  790. 28:11because right there well there's some
  791. 28:13money to get get two million bucks gets
  792. 28:15me into, 1500 screens on a you know on a
  793. 28:17weekend so um it's it's it's weird to
  794. 28:20try to fight it and get it out there but
  795. 28:22I'm going to keep battling because I
  796. 28:23love like I said I love what I do and
  797. 28:25I'm not going to give up the fight so
  798. 28:27they will come is kind of my attitude
  799. 28:29you got to build something worth and
  800. 28:31then they'll come yep that's I I've kind
  801. 28:34of lived by that too I mean I just make
  802. 28:36the stuff and I've I've been really
  803. 28:37fortunate finding audiences for it but
  804. 28:39it's it has gotten it has gotten Wicked
  805. 28:42out there I mean this stuff with the Dei
  806. 28:44and the equity and and the well it's
  807. 28:46racism let's call it what it is I mean
  808. 28:48yeah that that stuff is just really um
  809. 28:51it's it's ill it's a sickness obviously
  810. 28:54well listen I'm I'm really glad to talk
  811. 28:56to you it kind of gives me a hope hope
  812. 28:57to talk to you it's it's a it's a it's
  813. 28:59an interesting moment let me I've only
  814. 29:01got a couple of minutes let me ask each
  815. 29:02one of you is is this a good time or am
  816. 29:06I kidding myself I I see like a break in
  817. 29:09the culture I see the the kind of
  818. 29:10Rainbow Coalition on its back feet am I
  819. 29:13wrong about that Rick do you think that
  820. 29:15there's an opening here I do think
  821. 29:17there's an opening I do think we're
  822. 29:18making progress I do think we're talking
  823. 29:20about the Lord again and you know people
  824. 29:22aren't afraid to talk about the Lord and
  825. 29:25so I think that makes a difference I
  826. 29:27think we're sick of what we see so many
  827. 29:29Americans we're just tired of of it of
  828. 29:32it and them pushing their perversion
  829. 29:34upon us and into us so we we want to uh
  830. 29:38we want to make some change and we want
  831. 29:39to use our documentaries and our stories
  832. 29:41to help drive that change because
  833. 29:43politics is
  834. 29:44Downstream of of what we do yeah and
  835. 29:48they're just kind of they follow a lot
  836. 29:50and and you know Hollywood is sort of
  837. 29:52like the seems to me the the brain of of
  838. 29:56of of of their perversion it's like the
  839. 29:58center of of Satan's messaging tools
  840. 30:01yeah no question about it yeah so many
  841. 30:04ways Kevin you hopeful I I am you know I
  842. 30:07I every set I've been on you know I
  843. 30:09still I've been managing thank God
  844. 30:10through other independent people coming
  845. 30:12to me to say hey you want to be in my
  846. 30:13movie and I read the script and the roll
  847. 30:15or whatever I like the message yeah then
  848. 30:17I'm in so I've been shooting four movies
  849. 30:19a year on average the last seven eight
  850. 30:20years and every movie I do now I get at
  851. 30:23least one person sometimes more whether
  852. 30:25it's a camera guy another actor whatever
  853. 30:27pull me along you know over the side of
  854. 30:29the studio like we're doing a drug deal
  855. 30:30and say hey man thanks for being a voice
  856. 30:33for us and I'm go D be a voice for
  857. 30:34yourself and that's what we need we need
  858. 30:36people to stop being cheap we're here to
  859. 30:38wake up the Lions and I said look it
  860. 30:40hurt my career in Hollywood but then
  861. 30:41again didn't hurt my career I'm still
  862. 30:43making movies I'm not making the big
  863. 30:45bucks I made back in the day but I don't
  864. 30:46care I'm doing stuff that it's changing
  865. 30:48people's lives because I get through my
  866. 30:51through Sorbo Studios site I get people
  867. 30:53every day saying I became a Christian
  868. 30:54because your movies or you know I love
  869. 30:57what you're doing I'm going to support
  870. 30:58you blah blah blah and it's wonderful so
  871. 31:00I know there's a turning point here and
  872. 31:02we're it's it's a slow ship but it is
  873. 31:05turning in the right direction Kevin
  874. 31:06Sorbo Rick schroer both incredibly
  875. 31:09talented actors really nice to talk to
