- 0:03ABBY LEE MILLER: Previously on "Dance Moms."
- 0:04You're going to be using guns in your routine. I want you to kill it.
- 0:08We're going to play a little bench in front of the dance
- 0:10studio.
- 0:11Beautiful.
- 0:12You know everyone's going to hate you?
- 0:13You're a conniving bitch.
- 0:14Eight means eight.
- 0:15Not nine and a half, not ten.
- 0:16Eight.
- 0:18You should be so lucky to have Chloe as your student,
- 0:20because she's a great dancer.
- 0:21Everybody knows it except for you.
- 0:23If that kid loved to dance, she'd
- 0:24have remembered that trio.
- 0:25You always got to keep your options open.
- 0:28ABBY LEE MILLER: Coming up on "Dance Moms."
- 0:30Kendall, you are back on probation.
- 0:32There's a lot of studios out there
- 0:33who would love what she does.
- 0:35We're going to one of those studio.
- 0:38Do Abby and the moms know you came here?
- 0:40They have no idea.
- 0:42ABBY LEE MILLER: Nia, you've worked hard in ballet class,
- 0:44you've waited a long time for this pretty dance.
- 0:46Don't screw it up, kid.
- 0:47She's doing my routine with my costume.
- 0:51I wouldn't want to steal your choreography.
- 0:54Really?
- 0:55ABBY LEE MILLER: Don't carry it into the dressing room.
- 0:57You go home, you cry into your pillow,
- 0:59and you don't make the same mistakes again.
- 1:01[theme music]
- 1:03THEME SONG: Get up.
- 1:05Get on the floor.
- 1:07My world is with my girls, living on the dance floor.
- 1:12[music playing]
- 1:15Let's go girls.
- 1:16Get in here, shake the lead out.
- 1:18OK.
- 1:19Now Hollywood Vibe last week.
- 1:23[music playing]
- 1:25You did an OK job.
- 1:27I thought it could have been better.
- 1:28Moving on.
- 1:30This week we are going to Fire and Ice
- 1:34right here in Pittsburgh.
- 1:36[clapping]
- 1:38And I have a reputation to uphold.
- 1:41It's much more difficult to walk in and compete against people
- 1:45you know than a bunch of strangers.
- 1:48OK.
- 1:49Let's get to the pyramid.
- 1:51I hate to do this, but Kendall, you are back on probation.
- 2:02That's ridiculous, Abby.
- 2:05What more do you want from her?
- 2:08ABBY LEE MILLER: Your head is distended,
- 2:10your shoulders are hunched, your rib cage is open.
- 2:13Are you kidding me?
- 2:15You're kidding me, right?
- 2:17ABBY LEE MILLER: No.
- 2:18She doesn't make the corrections.
- 2:20I have been telling her since the audition about her posture,
- 2:24and it has not improved once.
- 2:26Jill, careful what you wish for.
- 2:28You're always demanding more special parts and attention
- 2:30for Kendall while you're back on probation.
- 2:32So you got it.
- 2:33I can't even believe it.
- 2:34You know what?
- 2:35You should be on probation not my daughter.
- 2:39Kendall was on the bottom of the pyramid.
- 2:41Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of Jill.
- 2:44If I would, she would be the one that's there.
- 2:47Learn something, Jill.
- 2:48You are on my last nerve.
- 2:50I don't even know why I'm here.
- 2:52You had nothing nice to say to her
- 2:55since the second we got here!
- 2:57You know what, Abby?
- 2:58She does a lot right.
- 2:59ABBY LEE MILLER: She turns like a top.
- 3:01But that's what's good.
- 3:03I don't need to fix that.
- 3:05I was not surprised in the least by Jill's reaction.
- 3:09I was devastated by Kendall's reaction.
- 3:13I certainly don't wake up in the morning to intentionally hurt
- 3:17a child's feelings.
- 3:19There's a lot of studios out there
- 3:21who would love what she does right.
- 3:23And you know what, Abby?
- 3:25ABBY LEE MILLER: I hear that.
- 3:26We're going to one of those studios.
- 3:28I'm not putting up with this crap anymore.
- 3:31We're done.
- 3:32That's it.
- 3:35You know what, honey?
- 3:36She doesn't appreciate you.
- 3:37I'll take you where someone appreciates you.
- 3:40It makes me sick to think that Abby would do this
- 3:44to a little girl who is working so hard.
- 3:47We'll go where they will treat you with respect,
- 3:51they'll give you great numbers, they might even
- 3:53let you do a solo or two.
- 3:55This is disgusting to me, and I'm not putting up with it
- 3:59anymore.
- 4:00It's over.
- 4:02I don't want to go, I love to dance.
- 4:08ABBY LEE MILLER: Next, Paige.
- 4:12You were on the top, now you're obviously not.
- 4:16You couldn't remember the trio.
- 4:18[music playing]
- 4:19(SINGING) Know this is true.
- 4:23ABBY LEE MILLER: Unacceptable.
- 4:24Next.
- 4:26Brooke.
- 4:27Brooke, this whiny, mopey, teenager crap has to stop.
- 4:32You are the role model.
- 4:34Do me a favor--
- 4:35just smile.
- 4:39Mackenzie, the tricks are stronger, they're better.
- 4:44But you need a few ballet classes.
- 4:47Next we have Chloe.
- 4:50Once again, nice, clean performance.
- 4:54Maddie, you redeemed yourself.
- 4:57No stupid mistakes.
- 4:58Maddie and Chloe, you know, neck and neck,
- 5:01same old story different day.
- 5:03And deservedly so for the first--
- 5:06[squealing]
- 5:07Nia is on top of the pyramid.
- 5:10It's been a long time coming.
- 5:12I didn't think I would ever live to see this day.
- 5:14You were on top of this pyramid because
- 5:16of your hard work and your determination all week long.
- 5:21To me, that's sometimes more important than any trophy.
- 5:26And you shined.
- 5:27Your mother isn't always here, but she does make sure
- 5:30that you're here.
- 5:32And you can see the improvement.
- 5:33I'm very happy I'm on the top of the pyramid this week.
- 5:37Yay.
- 5:38ABBY LEE MILLER: This week you're
- 5:39going to be doing a solo.
- 5:42Holly, she's going to perform, act, and look like a princess.
- 5:47Like I tell everybody else, it's tough getting here,
- 5:50it's even more difficult to stay here.
- 5:53Moving on to the group number.
- 5:55We are going to do a dance.
- 5:57It's called Head Over Heels.
- 6:00It's about falling in love and getting married.
- 6:05As an artist, I draw my inspiration
- 6:08from the world around me.
- 6:09And I think that Melissa has a little secret.
- 6:13So hopefully once she sees this number,
- 6:17she's going to realize that everybody knows her secret.
- 6:21Yes?
- 6:22Aren't I too young to get married?
- 6:25I just got engaged, but I like to keep my private life
- 6:28private.
- 6:29ABBY LEE MILLER: You're going to be dressed as brides,
- 6:31so I want your dads to be at the competition
- 6:36as if they were giving their daughters away.
- 6:38All right, you're dismissed.
- 6:39Thank you very much.
- 6:40Girls, when outside triple ballet pirouette.
- 6:42That's what I want to see, it's in the number.
- 6:45[music playing]
- 6:50Five, six, seven--
- 6:54I freaking can't believe what just happened with Jill.
- 6:57I think Jill's going back to her old studio.
- 6:58- No! - Yeah.
- 7:00Oh, I do too.
- 7:01And I also think that she's going to go back there,
- 7:02and she's going to kind of dish the dirt.
- 7:04And I think that we're going to run into them.
- 7:06I wouldn't be surprised if we run into them soon.
- 7:08I feel horrible for Jill.
- 7:10It's hard being a dance mom and making these tough decisions.
- 7:13I hope she comes back.
- 7:15I'm not all that shocked.
- 7:16Jill didn't really bond with us.
- 7:18Kendall I thought fit the group very well.
- 7:20And I thought Kendall is a good little dancer.
- 7:22She held her own.
- 7:23Yeah, I think she holds her own.
- 7:24I think Jill's going to regret walking out of there.
- 7:27It was like a spur of the moment, like, I'm pissed off,
- 7:29I'm leaving.
- 7:30Well, she can't come back now after that.
- 7:31Well, I'm kind of disappointed she didn't get a chance
- 7:33to see Nia at the top of the pyramid
- 7:34after she talked about--
- 7:35I know.
- 7:37I'm really kind of disappointed about that.
- 7:38She kept saying that she'd never pretty much amount to that.
- 7:42[music playing]
- 7:42ABBY LEE MILLER: Open.
- 7:43Big rich, big rich, and in.
- 7:46Stop jump.
- 7:49Slide.
- 7:51This week I'm doing a solo called
- 7:53I'll Do Anything For You.
- 7:55It's an acro routine, and that's one of my strongest styles
- 8:00of dance.
- 8:01And I'm just really excited.
- 8:03If I were Magellan, I would sail straight up to heaven
- 8:08and find you.
- 8:11It's true.
- 8:12I'm so excited about Nia.
- 8:13Did you see the girls?
- 8:14Oh.
- 8:15As soon as she wasn't on the last row.
- 8:17I know.
- 8:18Not even that she was at the top of the pyramid.
- 8:19You know what I was excited for?
- 8:21The kids were doing an ethnic dance?
- 8:22[laughter]
- 8:25Nia, listen.
- 8:26You've worked hard, you've worked hard in ballet class,
- 8:29you've waited a long time for this pretty dance with me,
- 8:32and I'll tell you what--
- 8:33don't screw it up, kid.
- 8:35Melissa, you have to be upset.
- 8:37I mean you were friends-- you are friends with Jill.
- 8:39And you guys were like buddies.
- 8:42I am upset.
- 8:43I mean, you know, I just think it's the wrong decision.
- 8:45I don't how you make that decision like that.
- 8:47I think she'll be back.
- 8:48Jill didn't mean it, she doesn't want to leave, she'll be back.
- 8:51I'm going to try to call Jill and see--
- 8:54Poor Kendall was upset.
- 8:56She was upset.
- 8:57She was crying.
- 8:58I hate to see a kid cry.
- 9:02Oh my God, she sent me a text.
- 9:05What she say?
- 9:06Kendall and I deserve better, I'm not coming back.
- 9:09Sorry to leave you to the wolves.
- 9:10I just don't want this for K. I'm going back to my old studio
- 9:13where they like Kendall.
- 9:15No, she didn't say that.
- 9:16I told you she was going back there.
- 9:18It didn't take her long to make that decision.
- 9:21That was fast.
- 9:23Hello, let's call a spade a spade-- she's a studio hopper,
- 9:26so it's time to hop back to the old one.
- 9:27You know what?
- 9:29Frankly, I don't want somebody like that
- 9:30around us and our kids.
- 9:32So I say good riddance.
- 9:37[music playing]
- 9:37Listen, Kendall.
- 9:39I'm not putting up with this crap anymore.
- 9:41I can't have you at a place that doesn't appreciate you
- 9:44and all they do is tear you down.
- 9:46That probation is ridiculous.
- 9:48You did nothing wrong.
- 9:50It was my fault, she should put me on probation not you.
- 9:54Were done at Abby's.
- 9:55I'm taking you somewhere where they
- 9:57are going to appreciate you.
- 9:59DANCE TEACHER (ON PHONE): Hello?
- 10:00This is Jill Vertes from Abby's?
- 10:03I'm fed up with Abby, I can't go back there.
- 10:06And I really need a dance studio where they're
- 10:08going to train my child.
- 10:10I was wondering if you could take a look at Kendall
- 10:13and tell me what you think of her talents.
- 10:16And if you could find a place for her on your team.
- 10:19DANCE TEACHER (ON PHONE): If you want to come to Candy Apple's
- 10:21then I am here for you.
- 10:23But I need to be 100% your that all of your ties
- 10:27are severed from Abby Lee Dance Company.
- 10:34Five, six, flat back.
- 10:36Let's point your foot out.
- 10:37Hip down, hip down.
- 10:39Five, four-- come on, straighten that knee.
- 10:41Three, two, one.
- 10:43And finish.
- 10:44Other side.
- 10:45I heard about the engagement.
- 10:47[giggling]
- 10:49So are you going to be in the wedding?
- 10:52Do you think I'm going to be in the wedding?
- 10:56My mom is engaged, but she wants to keep it quiet.
- 10:59Chloe, work on your solo.
- 11:02Maddie, same thing-- work on your solo.
- 11:03Think about the corrections.
- 11:05You should work on your pirouettes
- 11:08and your [inaudible] turns.
- 11:10Okey doke, all right.
- 11:11Let's everybody get to where we need to be.
- 11:15I can't believe you're not more excited about the wedding.
- 11:18[music playing]
- 11:20What do you think of the ring?
- 11:21Beautiful.
- 11:23I love the story.
- 11:25No, don't say it--
- 11:27What story?
- 11:28Nothing.
- 11:29We weren't even supposed to talk about it.
- 11:31Wait a minute, what story?
- 11:32Nothing.
- 11:33Come here.
- 11:35Mackenzie, tell me the story.
- 11:37Come here.
- 11:38I don't know what story.
- 11:40We're not supposed to tell Abby anything.
- 11:42She's a blabbermouth.
- 11:44No, seriously.
- 11:45I don't know the story. - You don't know the story?
- 11:46What's Chloe? She's a weirdo.
- 11:47What's she making up?
- 11:48I don't know what story they're talking about.
- 11:50Tell me the story.
- 11:51Kenz, come on.
- 11:53Tell Chloe I want the story, come here.
- 11:55Uhm, hey, Chlo, Abby wants the story.
- 11:58No, don't.
- 12:00[music playing]
- 12:03Ooh, I like that one.
- 12:04I actually like this one.
- 12:06So the moms and I went to Babbette's bridal shop
- 12:08so we could get some inspiration for this bridal dance
- 12:10that we're doing.
- 12:12Are we doing long dance for the girls or short nails?
- 12:14I want somebody to try this one on.
- 12:18We got awfully sidetracked.
- 12:19[giggles]
- 12:21That is a poofy, poofy dress.
- 12:24Is that a wedding dress?
- 12:26I'm assuming.
- 12:26I want to wear it.
- 12:28[inaudible]
- 12:29[interposing voices]
- 12:30I remember going shopping for my wedding dress
- 12:32with my mom and my sister.
- 12:33It was me, my mom, my sister, and my grandmother,
- 12:37and the first dress I came out in--
- 12:39That, was that it?
- 12:40I bought it.
- 12:41Well, personally, if I got married again,
- 12:42I wouldn't be wearing a big wedding gown.
- 12:44No? You wouldn't do that?
- 12:45Nope.
- 12:46Oh no, somebody try that one on.
- 12:47I like that one over there.
- 12:48I used to get excited when I looked at wedding dresses.
- 12:50I really don't anymore.
- 12:52Why are you lying?
- 12:53We all know you're engaged, so why don't you just admit it?
- 12:56You wanna go first?
- 12:59[giggling]
- 13:00Welcome to my world-- no panties.
- 13:04You're a bride!
- 13:06A fat one!
- 13:07[laughter]
- 13:09[inaudible] trying on a wedding dress.
- 13:11Me neither, we came here for headpieces.
- 13:13You look skinny.
- 13:14You look really skinny in that.
- 13:16Because it hides your butt.
- 13:20She wants to get married again, and she wants a big rock.
- 13:23That's right.
- 13:24Maybe you should renew your vowels.
- 13:26Vowels?
- 13:27[laughter]
- 13:28I think you need to say, will you marry me again?
- 13:31But Melissa, you're the one who has a chance of getting
- 13:34married again.
- 13:35Not me.
- 13:36I'm not wearing a wedding dress.
- 13:38I don't know, I think if I was getting married again,
- 13:40I'd have to have the birth thing.
- 13:41I like the birdcage too.
- 13:43Yeah, to hide your wrinkles?
- 13:44Oh, no she didn't.
- 13:45[laughter]
- 13:49[music playing]
- 14:00Here we are.
- 14:01I'm a little nervous to join the Candy Apples.
- 14:04I haven't really seen their studio,
- 14:07but I want to dance at a place where they actually respect me
- 14:10and they like me as a dancer.
- 14:12Hi.
- 14:14Welcome.
- 14:14Thank you.
- 14:16When Jill called and wanted to bring Kendall over to the dance
- 14:18studio, I was thrilled.
- 14:20I mean, why wouldn't I be?
- 14:21It's a win-win situation.
- 14:23You're not nervous are you?
- 14:24No.
- 14:25Oh, maybe a little, but that's OK.
- 14:26That's normal.
- 14:27Don't be nervous, don't be nervous.
- 14:28You'll get over that.
- 14:29You don't have to be nervous.
- 14:30So come on, let's go.
- 14:31They're actually having acro class right now.
- 14:33Should we take our shoes off?
- 14:35In our studio?
- 14:36Oh, honey, we have a cleaning lady that cleans the floor
- 14:39every night. We don't need to worry about it.
- 14:40All right.
- 14:41No screaming and yelling about that here.
- 14:42May I come?
- 14:43The cleaning lady comes every night.
- 14:44All right.
- 14:45Kendall misses her friends back at Abby's.
- 14:47I had to explain to her why this was a good decision
- 14:50to bring her out here, because Cathy is going to give her
- 14:53what she needs and what she wants to be a good dancer.
- 14:58Looking to join our company?
- 14:59I need a studio, I need a group
- 15:01of kids she can dance with.
- 15:03Oh OK, so you're coming here under the assumption that you
- 15:08you might want to just go ahead and join with us?
- 15:09Absolutely.
- 15:10And become an apple?
- 15:11I need a studio.
- 15:13Cathy takes a look at Kendall, she sees her potential right
- 15:17away, she sees what this little girl can do,
- 15:19what she can bring to a solo or group number.
- 15:23This is great.
- 15:24This is exactly what I needed.
- 15:26A little something that we're doing this weekend,
- 15:27and I don't want to put any pressure on you whatsoever.
- 15:30I have an adorable little solo that I think
- 15:32would be very fitting for her.
- 15:34And the funny thing about it is, dare I say,
- 15:37we're going to go to Pittsburgh.
- 15:39This week's Fire and Ice competition
- 15:41just got a little bit more interesting.
- 15:43That'll give you an opportunity to just join in and be with us
- 15:47even though you won't be in a group number.
- 15:49Cathy gives Kendall a solo right off the bat.
- 15:51This was Cathy's way of telling me that she appreciates me
- 15:55and my daughter, she has respect for us,
- 15:58and she knows that Kendall is a good dancer.
- 16:01This is good.
- 16:03[music playing]
- 16:07ABBY LEE MILLER: And one, hit two, hit three, hit four.
- 16:10Give me something.
- 16:11Come on, girls.
- 16:13We do a lot of contemporary lyrical in competitions,
- 16:15because that's like the biggest fad right now.
- 16:18But it's nice to also do some novelty numbers.
- 16:22And Head Over Heels is a novelty routine.
- 16:27I love you, I love you, I love you.
- 16:29What's going on?
- 16:30That's good.
- 16:31They're just practising.
- 16:32Hello.
- 16:33Hey, what you up to?
- 16:35What's on Mackenzie's top? Are those bats?
- 16:37They're puppies.
- 16:37They look like bats from here.
- 16:40Don't cross your fingers.
- 16:41Oh, those hands.
- 16:44Who's your manicurist?
- 16:46She should be out of work.
- 16:47Girls, three more days.
- 16:50We need to get this choreography fixed.
- 16:52Got it?
- 16:53Fire And Ice, three more days.
- 16:57Go back to the top, let's do it.
- 16:59There's a story and a theme.
- 17:01The girls are brides, they hold nosegays,
- 17:05they might even wear garters.
- 17:07One, two, up, up.
- 17:09Down down, jump over, don't catch feet.
- 17:13Push.
- 17:14I'm inviting the dads to come and watch the competition.
- 17:16It's as though they're giving away their daughters,
- 17:19but instead of giving them to some guy that's never going
- 17:21to be good enough, he's going to give them
- 17:23to the world of dance.
- 17:25I want to marry dance, but I don't.
- 17:26[giggles] If I had to marry someone,
- 17:29I would marry Justin Bieber.
- 17:31Girls, remember, your dads are coming to the competition.
- 17:35They complain about all the money you spend,
- 17:38all the hours you spend here at the studio, all the outfits,
- 17:41all the rhinestones.
- 17:43Your dad's going to sit-in that audience and watch you.
- 17:45You want him to say, oh my God, look at my kid up there.
- 17:48It's all worth it.
- 17:50It's all worth it to see her up on that stage.
- 17:53Look what she's accomplished, look how good she is.
- 17:56I really hope that Chloe's dad can make it,
- 17:58but I think the bigger question on everyone's mind
- 18:00is, who is Melissa going to bring to represent?
- 18:03Is she going to bring the dad or the sugar daddy?
- 18:07Their dad's not coming.
- 18:08Really?
- 18:09He's not going to be here, so--
- 18:12Curt's not coming at all.
- 18:14Mm-mm.
- 18:15This is the one time the dads are asked
- 18:17to come and participate with their girls,
- 18:20and Melissa can't put the drama aside.
- 18:21It always has to be about her.
- 18:23Did you not want him to come?
- 18:24No, he's not coming, because he's going to be at a hockey
- 18:26tournament. - OK.
- 18:28Will Greg come?
- 18:30No way.
- 18:32If Curt can't come, why wouldn't you just bring Greg?
- 18:34I wouldn't want to hurt feelings.
- 18:36You know?
- 18:38But if he couldn't be there, would his feelings be hurt?
- 18:41If he knew that Greg did it, yes.
- 18:45I don't know why you wouldn't bring Greg.
- 18:48They live with Greg, Melissa.
- 18:50I mean, I would love for him to be there.
- 18:52But absolutely not.
- 18:55I don't know why Melissa goes crazy every time she hears
- 18:57Curt's name.
- 18:59I mean, he is still Maddie and Mackenzie's dad.
- 19:02So they still need to have some kind of relationship just
- 19:05for the girls.
- 19:06I can't wait to see how our headpieces are all
- 19:08going to look.
- 19:09Oh, I have something that I'm going to bring to you tomorrow.
- 19:14I think I have a white thing you might want to use.
- 19:16I don't know. - OK.
- 19:17Oh, it would have been so cool if I had my gown, you guys.
- 19:19We could have cut it up because it has so many beautiful pieces
- 19:21to it.
- 19:22You should have saved it!
- 19:23Your kids probably would have wanted it.
- 19:26Even if they didn't wear it, they're just for a keepsake.
- 19:28Right.
- 19:29Well, they can help you pick out a new dress.
- 19:31[snorting laugh] There won't be any new dresses.
- 19:40JILL: Hi.
- 19:41DANCE MOM: Hi!
- 19:42DANCE MOM: Hey, Jill!
- 19:43Thank you so much.
- 19:44I'm Jill.
- 19:45Hi it's nice to meet you.
- 19:46I'm Nikki
- 19:46It's so nice to meet you.
- 19:47I'm a little nervous walking in here.
- 19:49And I meet the moms and they all welcome me with open arms.
- 19:51They're so nice.
- 19:53They're so polite.
- 19:55Kendall, have fun. - OK.
- 19:56JILL: All right.
- 19:57It's just been a battlefield at that studio.
- 20:01It's a different beast over there.
- 20:03DANCE MOM: Beast?
- 20:04Mhm.
- 20:05[laughter]
- 20:06Look at you!
- 20:07DANCE MOM: Some sparkling apple cider.
- 20:09JILL: This is so different from the battlefield the first day I
- 20:12walked into Abby's.
- 20:13Cheers!
- 20:13Cheers to you.
- 20:18And they're really welcoming.
- 20:20This is really nice to be on the other end of receiving.
- 20:24- Apple toast. - Apple toast.
- 20:25- Thank you for welcoming me. - Cheers.
- 20:26- Cheers. - Cheers, girls.
- 20:28Thank you.
- 20:29CATHY: So why don't we start in the corner?
- 20:31Let's put your hands behind your back.
- 20:34And let's just do two walks.
- 20:361, 2, 3, 4, then--
- 20:38JILL: Kendall just wants to dance.
- 20:39She was not doing that enough at Abby's.
- 20:42Pirouette up and over.
- 20:45Pirouette.
- 20:46Now, she's dancing.
- 20:47Your second leg is bent.
- 20:49Can you straighten it out for me?
- 20:50And straight.
- 20:51Oh, yeah.
- 20:53See how when you give nice corrections, you get results.
- 20:59So does Abby and the moms know you came here?
- 21:03They have no idea.
- 21:05And guess what?
- 21:06I don't care.
- 21:07I know that when she finds out, she's going to be probably more
- 21:11angry than hurt.
- 21:13And maybe she'll feel the anger that I felt when she belittled
- 21:15my child in front of everybody--
- 21:16DANCE MOM: Karma.
- 21:17--for no reason.
- 21:19CATHY: Do you happen to know who's
- 21:20at the top of the pyramid?
- 21:21I think it's Nia.
- 21:22Oh, it's Nia that's at-- really?
- 21:25Well, if Nia is at the top of the pyramid,
- 21:28you know what that means.
- 21:29She is probably going to be doing a solo.
- 21:32That means that you and her are going to be going head-to-head.
- 21:34OK.
- 21:35OK?
- 21:36Kendall is really going to kick butt.
- 21:39And Abby, she's going to miss Kendall being
- 21:42part of her competition team.
- 21:43So are you going to feel badly if you go head-to-head against
- 21:47Nia?
- 21:48Yeah, I guess.
- 21:49I'm really doing this for Kendall.
- 21:51And if this is the only way I can
- 21:53get Abby to see what Kendall can do,
- 21:55then this is what it's got to be.
- 21:59ABBY LEE MILLER: Nia, this is it.
- 22:01I don't want to see any mistakes in this number.
- 22:03Go.
- 22:03[piano music playing]
- 22:05Chasse.
- 22:05Knee knee.
- 22:07A lot is riding on this solo for Nia.
- 22:10It's an important solo for her and she
- 22:12needs to get her act together.
- 22:14I'm a little confused.
- 22:15Is Melissa engaged?
- 22:17Well, she has her ring on.
- 22:18Exactly.
- 22:19CHRISTI: But today and yesterday she didn't.
- 22:21I hope that's not a friendship ring.
- 22:22Uh, yeah.
- 22:23No.
- 22:24That's a nice friend.
- 22:25Yeah.
- 22:26I want to meet a friend like that.
- 22:28You have a friend.
- 22:30He needs to buy me another one of this.
- 22:33Because your other hand's lonely.
- 22:34I want to be--
- 22:35I want to have another friend!
- 22:38Melissa has a big rock on her finger,
- 22:39and I don't know why she's being so secretive about it.
- 22:42It's like, I mean, every time I ask her about it,
- 22:44she's just like, oh, it's no big deal.
- 22:48Hand.
- 22:48Hand.
- 22:49Don't go so far.
- 22:51It's awkward.
- 22:52HOLLY: And then this weekend, the dads are invited,
- 22:54and she's wearing another man's engagement ring.
- 22:57Yeah, I wonder if Kurt knows.
- 22:59And I thought maybe that's why--
- 23:00If she didn't tell us--
- 23:01--the ring keeps coming on and off.
- 23:02--I can't imagine her telling Kurt.
- 23:04These people are all going to have
- 23:05to come to terms with things, because there's
- 23:07two little girls involved. - Exactly.
- 23:08And they're going to have a long time growing up
- 23:10if they don't get along.
- 23:12She's so forthcoming.
- 23:13She'll tell you everything about her body;
- 23:15nooks, crevices, desires, taboos, all of that.
- 23:19KELLY: Fair game.
- 23:21[inaudible] like the time she told me that she thinks of sex
- 23:23and throbs.
- 23:24Ugh, that was bad.
- 23:26That was making me--
- 23:28I mean, I know that she's cleanly shaved down there,
- 23:31but she won't tell me she's engaged.
- 23:33Hello!
- 23:34That's a little too personal.
- 23:36I know!
- 23:36A little too personal.
- 23:37Kelly, you're crossing the line.
- 23:46ABBY LEE MILLER: Come on, girls, let's go!
- 23:48KELLY: Ugh!
- 23:49Girls, be careful.
- 23:50It's slick out here.
- 23:52ABBY LEE MILLER: I love the Fire and Ice competition
- 23:54because it's here in Pittsburgh.
- 23:55So it's always nice when we get to stay home.
- 23:58I have more time with Broadway Baby.
- 24:00And they are always thrilled to see the Abby Lee Dance Company.
- 24:02Hey.
- 24:03Hello.
- 24:04[inaudible]
- 24:05I mean, come on, it's the Abby Lee Dance Company.
- 24:09Welcome.
- 24:18I'm not excited about competing in Pittsburgh,
- 24:20because everybody knows Abby, everybody hates Abby.
- 24:23Girls, I need not say how important it is here, yes?
- 24:29We all know what's on the line.
- 24:31It's Fire and Ice.
- 24:32Every one of those people are my friends.
- 24:35I've known them for years.
- 24:36But even though you're friends, they're still competitive,
- 24:39like your girlfriend at school.
- 24:46We've just arrived at the Fire and Ice competition,
- 24:49and Abby and all of those moms aren't
- 24:51going to know what hit them when they
- 24:53see my secret little weapon.
- 24:57I'm a little nervous walking into this competition
- 25:00with Candy Apples.
- 25:01I'm going to be the one looking over my shoulder.
- 25:03I'm afraid Christi and Kelly might come after me
- 25:05with a shotgun.
- 25:06You know what I want to see with you?
- 25:09I want to take a look at your solo since it's new.
- 25:13JILL: My goal here is to have Kendall stand out.
- 25:16Do I think I'm going to get Abby's attention?
- 25:18Yes.
- 25:20I'm going to do a little more liner and a little more
- 25:22on her cheeks. - OK.
- 25:23And you know what?
- 25:24We have do little wings.
- 25:25Could you please do that? JILL: Absolutely.
- 25:27CATHY: Do you have any loose rhinestones?
- 25:28We do little rhinestones on the eye
- 25:30just to add a little glimmer.
- 25:31I know I'm going to see Abby and I just want to say to her,
- 25:35do you see what you made me do.
- 25:37CHRISTI: Oh, you don't have eye shadow on, Jill?
- 25:39JILL: No.
- 25:40CHRISTI: OK, purple.
- 25:40We do purple.
- 25:46This Candy Apple green room is a lot different than the one
- 25:49at Abby's.
- 25:50Close.
- 25:51Are you dabbling?
- 25:53Well, I was contemplating purple with her orange costume,
- 25:57but I trust you.
- 25:58Close.
- 25:59Mm.
- 26:00Oh, well.
- 26:01We'll see what happens.
- 26:02There's no screaming or yelling or crying.
- 26:05I don't have to, like, be looking over my shoulder,
- 26:08feeling the knife in my back at any second.
- 26:10I can relax and take care of my child.
- 26:12Stand up tall.
- 26:13Kendall?
- 26:15You walk in there like you own the place.
- 26:16That's right.
- 26:17And you need to just beam, because you're so relieved
- 26:19and you're so happy right now because you
- 26:21don't have a whole lot of crappy pressures on you.
- 26:26Let's go.
- 26:37Stand up tall.
- 26:38Kendall?
- 26:39You walk in there like you own the place.
- 26:40That's right.
- 26:41All right, let's go.
- 26:42Nia, I need you.
- 26:43Come on.
- 26:45CATHY: Look, she doesn't have a kid,
- 26:47but she has a dog in a stroller!
- 26:50Come on.
- 26:51Do my eyes deceive me?
- 26:52I can not believe that Kendall is here with Cathy.
- 26:56What is her mother thinking?
- 26:59CATHY: Hi, everybody.
- 27:00ABBY LEE MILLER: What are you doing [inaudible]??
- 27:01Everybody laughed at me when I said
- 27:03I wanted to look into Jill's background,
- 27:05but here she is with Cathy.
- 27:07Of all people, why would you go to Cathy?
- 27:09You're leaving Freddy to go to Jason.
- 27:11Oh, Melissa, so good to see you.
- 27:14MADDIE: I was so surprised to see Kendall and Jill with Candy
- 27:18Apples.
- 27:19I mean, I kind of wanted to cry because it didn't seem right.
- 27:22I think she fits better with us.
- 27:24CATHY: All right, well, we have a solo
- 27:25that we have to go perform.
- 27:27HOLLY: All of a sudden, it hits me, that's Nia's competition.
- 27:31I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
- 27:33ABBY LEE MILLER: Excuse me. Let's go.
- 27:34Oh, Kendall, let's go this way.
- 27:42Anybody else shocked?
- 27:43I can't say I'm really all that shocked
- 27:45that Jill's with Candy Apples.
- 27:46I mean, it was only a matter of time before she hop,
- 27:48hop, hop over to somewhere new.
- 27:49I think she's pretty desperate to go to Candy Apples.
- 27:51Well, that's what I'm thinking.
- 27:52I wouldn't think that that's where she would go.
- 27:53I would think she would move further, like towards New York.
- 27:56I'm feeling pretty betrayed to see someone who I thought
- 27:59was on my team walk through the door on the competition team.
- 28:02You know what's going to be the problem?
- 28:04Guess who's she's going to be up against?
- 28:05I know.
- 28:06[inaudible] Nia.
- 28:07I bet she's going to do a solo.
- 28:09I feel like Jill has become the ultimate traitor
- 28:12to put her daughter up to dance against a teammate.
- 28:14She was a teammate of ours.
- 28:16Who does that?
- 28:17Well, I hope Nia has a great time--
- 28:19She will. KELLY: Me too.
- 28:20--on stage. That's the most important thing.
- 28:21That's all that matters. HOLLY: That's all that matters.
- 28:23At this point, that's all we have to keep telling our kids.
- 28:25It's all about having fun [inaudible]
- 28:27like kill everybody!
- 28:29But I don't know how much fun it
- 28:30is to compete against someone who's your former teammate.
- 28:32- Yeah. - That's hard.
- 28:33Oh, yeah.
- 28:34Wonder if any of the dads have gotten here?
- 28:35Maybe Greg will surprise you.
- 28:36Maybe.
- 28:37It can happen.
- 28:39I think this meeting is adjourned.
- 28:41OK.
- 28:41Yeah.
- 28:42[music playing]
- 28:49So I just wanted to tell you that I was really reluctant
- 28:53when you called.
- 28:54I know.
- 28:55Because I don't like to engage in Abby's sloppy seconds.
- 29:00I hope you're feeling welcome.
- 29:01- I am. - Good.
- 29:02Everybody's been really nice.
- 29:03Thank you.
- 29:05KENDALL: Hi, Nia.
- 29:07Hi, Kendall.
- 29:08You're dancing with Candy Apples?
- 29:10Yeah.
- 29:11I was really excited to perform my solo because I just
- 29:15wanted to see Abby's face.
- 29:17You have a solo too?
- 29:18Yes.
- 29:19I like your crown.
- 29:22I'm supposed to be a princess.
- 29:24Well, good luck.
- 29:25You too.
- 29:26I'm a little nervous to have a solo against Kendall.
- 29:30But I'm going to try very, very hard to make it my best
- 29:35PA: Please welcome to the stage participant number 20.
- 29:37This is Nia performing to "I'll Do Anything For You."
- 29:40[cheering]
- 29:44[MUSIC - KADIE HODGES, "I'LL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU"]
- 30:00(SINGING) If I were Magellan, I would sail straight
- 30:04up to heaven and find you.
- 30:08It's true.
- 30:11If I were John Lennon, I would ask the world
- 30:15to imagine loving you, if I could, for you.
- 30:25HOLLY: Watching me on stage was an incredible experience
- 30:28for me.
- 30:29I am not a person who cries easily.
- 30:31I'm not one who gets very emotional.
- 30:34But she looked like a princess.
- 30:35She looked beautiful.
- 30:36She looked happy.
- 30:38She owned that stage and she was dancing with such joy
- 30:41and passion and energy.
- 30:44It was her moment, and I knew what it took
- 30:47for her to get to that place.
- 30:49I was just so proud of her.
- 30:51(SINGING) And when the stars come out across red velvet
- 30:55skies, I'll catch them all and bring them home for you.
- 31:06I'd do anything for you.
- 31:13[cheering]
- 31:25ABBY LEE MILLER: I think Nia did everything right on the money.
- 31:28She just needs to work on her technique,
- 31:30straightening her legs, stretching her feet.
- 31:32Abby just couldn't see her potential, her talent.
- 31:36All she did was pick out her flaws.
- 31:38ABBY LEE MILLER: Kendall has a solo coming up.
- 31:40She's against Nia in the same age category.
- 31:43Cathy didn't have to put Kendall up against Nia.
- 31:47Cathy knows that Nia deserves a chance to shine.
- 31:51And that was just a really rotten, shady thing to do.
- 31:54PA: Judges, our next competitor comes to us from Candy Apples
- 31:57Dance Center.
- 31:58This is Kendall performing to "I Think I Like You."
- 32:00[cheering]
- 32:04[MUSIC - EAGLE EYE, "I THINK I LIKE YOU"]
- 32:17(SINGING) Ever since the day I saw
- 32:19you waiting for that train--
- 32:21Oh, nice straight knees.
- 32:23Woo!
- 32:24(SINGING) --my head's been reeling.
- 32:25At night, I lay awake in bed and I can't explain--
- 32:31ABBY LEE MILLER: Kendall's a great little performer.
- 32:33And the routine is certainly dynamic,
- 32:35because she's doing my routine with my costume.
- 32:40And the kid's only been gone from my studio for a week.
- 32:44What did Cathy teach her?
- 32:45Nothing.
- 32:46Cathy is a worm.
- 32:49(SINGING) Now what should I do?
- 32:51Hey!
- 32:53What I'm really trying to say is I think I like you.
- 33:00[cheering]
- 33:01CATHY: Good job, Kendall!
- 33:03Good job!
- 33:04Woo!
- 33:07HOLLY: Kendall danced well.
- 33:08I knew it watching her from my seat.
- 33:10Kendall danced well.
- 33:11I hope that the judges see what I saw in Nia.
- 33:14You did good, Nia.
- 33:15MADDIE: I know.
- 33:16You did so good, Nia.
- 33:19KELLY: 10 times better than Kendall.
- 33:20MADDIE: Like, I couldn't even tell you [inaudible]..
- 33:21KELLY: Your face was just like you loved to dance.
- 33:23I know.
- 33:24You looked like you were having just the time of your life.
- 33:39Mark, are you able to come?
- 33:40MARK: (ON PHONE) I can't.
- 33:41I have a meeting I got to go to.
- 33:43Oh.
- 33:44OK, well, Chloe understands.
- 33:46My dad can't come to the competition today,
- 33:48but that's OK because I know he tried his hardest to get here.
- 33:51MARK: (ON PHONE) Hi, Chloe. How are you?
- 33:52Good.
- 33:53MARK: (ON PHONE) I love you.
- 33:54I love you too.
- 33:55And I'll just tell him when I get home all about it.
- 33:57Oh, my goodness!
- 33:58All the single girls!
- 34:00I'm really excited because the wedding costume
- 34:03is my favorite costume of the year so far.
- 34:06It's gorgeous.
- 34:07And I'm excited because I just got engaged,
- 34:09so it's kind of fun for me.
- 34:12[gleeful screaming]
- 34:17Let's not break it!
- 34:19Oh!
- 34:21All right, you two!
- 34:22I got it!
- 34:23I wanted to catch the flowers, but the other girls
- 34:25did before I could.
- 34:26MELISSA: Your make-up!
- 34:27MADDIE: Mackenzie, it's OK.
- 34:28MELISSA: Don't cry!
- 34:32MELISSA: OK, let's not talk to her, please.
- 34:33Please, I don't want--
- 34:34we're ready to go on stage.
- 34:36Just leave her alone.
- 34:38I do.
- 34:39It does matter about you.
- 34:41(AMUSED) Emotional.
- 34:42You're so cute.
- 34:43You're so cute, honey. Hey.

- 38:07Candy Apples, Cathy, and Abby for that matter,
- 38:11but my daughter's not a pawn in this whole game.
- 38:14This is real for her, and I feel like she

- 39:27Wait.
- 39:28Are you leaving?
- 39:29I need a break.
- 39:31For what just happened out there, you know it was wrong.
- 39:33She did a beautiful job.
- 39:35And a child who has been off, this kid
- 39:38has been working her tail off--

- 39:50ABBY LEE MILLER: Mhm.
- 39:51It's tough enough having to deal with Abby,
- 39:53but I've learned over the years how to handle her.
- 39:56But when it comes to my daughter's happiness,
- 39:58I don't want have to go up against Jill and Cathy too.
- 40:01CHRISTI: [inaudible]
- 40:03KELLY: Oh, god, here they come. CHRISTI: Here they come.

- 40:12Because you have six kids that you have to worry about.
- 40:15I have 306.
- 40:17ABBY LEE MILLER: Cathy, how do you still have that membership
- 40:19when you solicit students?

- 40:23She came to me at her own free will.
- 40:25She called me up and said that you were a witch!

- 40:45Big. CATHY: Yes, I tweaked it!
- 40:47I think there's a lot of studios in Ohio
- 40:48that got in big trouble for stealing choreography.
- 40:50Oh, believe me, Abby, I wouldn't want to steal
- 40:53your choreography, really.
- 40:55Let's go, guys.
