- 0:03Good day, friends. I am glad to welcome
- 0:06you to the Kompas 3D basic course. In
- 0:11this video, we will talk about the
- 0:13Kompas 3D interface elements. After
- 0:16launching the program, the Kompas 3D
- 0:19startup window appears before us. Here
- 0:24we will see the top menu, the main menu
- 0:26, which is quite standard for Windows
- 0:29applications. It contains the most
- 0:32frequently used commands: file,
- 0:35settings, and applications. On the
- 0:39right side, there is an interface
- 0:42settings icon, as well as a command
- 0:45search field. In the center-left, there
- 0:49is a list of recently opened documents,
- 0:52or, on the first launch, a list of
- 0:54example documents built in Kompas 3D.
- 1:00In the central part of the start page
- 1:03is the area for creating new documents,
- 1:06such as parts, assemblies, or drawings,
- 1:09which are most often used when working
- 1:12in Kompas 3D. In this same area, you
- 1:17can also see some tips for working in
- 1:20the Kompas 3D system. And in the
- 1:24center-right area is the help section,
- 1:27where you can familiarize yourself with
- 1:29commands and working techniques. Let's
- 1:33examine the interface elements directly
- 1:35. To do this, I will open a Kompas 3D
- 1:38example. After creating or opening a
- 1:43document in the Kompas 3D window,
- 1:44elements for working with documents and
- 1:47their objects appear. In the top-left
- 1:51area is the main menu. The main menu
- 1:54serves to invoke system commands. It
- 1:57contains menu section names: file, edit
- 2:00, select, modeling, and assembly. The
- 2:05composition of the main menu depends on
- 2:07the type of current document and the
- 2:09system mode. In the top-right area,
- 2:14there are buttons for managing panel
- 2:17display, a button for accessing the
- 2:23settings menu, and a command search
- 2:26field. When entering text in this field
- 2:30, a list of found commands is displayed
- 2:32below it. Below these interface
- 2:37elements are the document tab headers,
- 2:40which can be used to switch between
- 2:42open documents. Next comes the main
- 2:48interface element: the tool area. The
- 2:51tool area contains a list of tool
- 2:55palette sets and the actual toolbars,
- 2:59where drawing and editing commands are
- 3:02located. The toolbar contains commands
- 3:07with similar purposes. Some panels may
- 3:11have a hidden list of commands. Such
- 3:14panels are displayed with a small arrow
- 3:17next to the panel name. To reveal the
- 3:23commands, you need to left-click on the
- 3:25panel. The list of commands will be
- 3:27expanded. Also, commands on the panel
- 3:31are combined into groups. A group is
- 3:33represented by one of its commands. For
- 3:36example, for assembly constraint
- 3:39creation, there are coincidence
- 3:41constraint groups. By holding down the
- 3:44left mouse button, we can see all the
- 3:46constraints available for creating an
- 3:48assembly. In the center-left, there is
- 3:53the construction tree and the
- 3:55parameters panel, where operation
- 3:58settings are configured and the list of
- 4:00elements or assembly components that
- 4:03make up the model is visible. In the
- 4:07central part is the graphical area. It
- 4:10occupies the largest part of the Kompas
- 4:123D window and serves to display the
- 4:14current document's content and work
- 4:16with it. To indicate specific operation
- 4:21modes, such as sketch editing mode and
- 4:24other operations, mode icons will be
- 4:26displayed in the top-right corner of
- 4:28the graphical area. Also, in the
- 4:34graphical area, there is a quick access
- 4:37toolbar. As the panel name suggests, it
- 4:41contains the commands that are used
- 4:43most frequently. This concludes our
- 4:47overview of the Kompas 3D interface
- 4:49elements. Thank you for your attention.
