- 0:00And here's what we're going to cover. Uh
- 0:02we're going to cover why we created this
- 0:05trip, why we chose Laserenas.
- 0:08Most of you might know Puntaana, Porto
- 0:11Plata. Those are really popular tourist
- 0:14attractions with a lot of resorts, but
- 0:17Lasenas is a very nice hidden gem that
- 0:21we really love. And we're going to
- 0:23explain what your vacation is going to
- 0:24look like. add-ons after the sevenday in
- 0:28Latinas Santo Domingo add-on for three
- 0:31days and then we're gonna have uh
- 0:33information on pricing. We're gonna have
- 0:36an opportunity to for you to ask any
- 0:38questions and answer those questions and
- 0:41also at the end you can see you can
- 0:43learn how you can get up to $200 savings
- 0:47and reward. So stay tuned at the end
- 0:50we'll explain that. So, in regards to
- 0:53the question and answers,
- 0:55there is a question and answers box. I
- 0:58think if you hit the three dots under
- 0:59more, you'll come up with the question
- 1:01and answers. If you think of a question,
- 1:04put it in the question and answer box.
- 1:06We're going to answer them at the end of
- 1:09the presentation. All right.
- 1:12So, we already talked about talked to a
- 1:15few of you and where you're from. I see
- 1:18a few others have joined. We got North
- 1:22Carolina. We got Maryland in the house.
- 1:24New Jersey. What's up? Philadelphia,
- 1:28Virginia,
- 1:29>> East Coast,
- 1:30>> East Coast.
- 1:32So, welcome everyone again and thank you
- 1:35so much for joining. Let's do an
- 1:37introduction of who we are. All right.
- 1:40So, I'll start. My name is Bosco Vides.
- 1:43I am Jessica Viz's husband. We're
- 1:46originally from Washington DC area. Uh,
- 1:50I grew up in a Spanish congregation.
- 1:52When I got married, I joined sign
- 1:54language and now we're back in Spanish
- 1:57here in Sto. Domingo. But we've lived in
- 2:00the country for 11 years now. And we've
- 2:03explored a lot uh of the country's
- 2:07coastal side and a little bit of the
- 2:10inland uh areas as well. So, uh we
- 2:15wanted to share that with you guys as
- 2:17well. and I'll let Jessica introduce
- 2:19herself.
- 2:20>> Hi guys, I'm Jessica. Um, yep, like you
- 2:23said, we have been married for 15 years.
- 2:25We've lived in the Dominican Republic
- 2:27for a little over 11 years now. Lived in
- 2:30the north, lived in the south. Now we
- 2:32live in the city. We've traveled all
- 2:33over. We started Clifton Cove. You may
- 2:37have seen that that name around. We
- 2:39started it as a blog during the pandemic
- 2:41because, you know, pandemic pandemic
- 2:42projects. So we started a blog about
- 2:45traveling to DR especially in the south
- 2:47and we wanted to provide resources for
- 2:49people like you or anyone who wanted to
- 2:52come and that kind of has blossomed into
- 2:54trip planning and travel planning and
- 2:56now you know we've partnered with
- 2:58Sharice to to do this with you. So
- 3:01that's me now Sharice.
- 3:06>> Oh you're muted Sharice
- 3:11>> talking to himself. Okay, so let's try
- 3:14again. So firstly, thank you all for
- 3:17joining us. I'm very glad that you're
- 3:18here. Uh for those who don't know me, my
- 3:21name is Sherice Gathers. I am the owner
- 3:23of Gathers Travel Agency. I'm originally
- 3:26from New Jersey. So hi to all my East
- 3:29Coast friends. Um I am an eighth grader
- 3:32and I've been serving in the Dominican
- 3:33Republic since 2009.
- 3:36And like Jess and Bos, I've lived in
- 3:39various parts of the island. I've lived
- 3:41in the Pontaana area so I'm very
- 3:43familiar with it. Um I've also lived in
- 3:46Bani and currently live in the capital
- 3:48which is Sto. Domingo. Uh living here
- 3:52has completely changed the way I see
- 3:54travel and I became a part of the
- 3:57culture and so that's one of the reasons
- 3:59why we wanted to build this opportunity
- 4:02for you guys. Um, we wanted to share
- 4:06what we've learned through the
- 4:08friendships that we've developed, the
- 4:11culture and the places that tourists
- 4:13don't get to see. Um, and so that's what
- 4:17made me fall in love with the country,
- 4:19just seeing, you know, interacting with
- 4:21the people and getting to know them and
- 4:23the culture, the food, the music, all of
- 4:25it. So, we want to share a little bit of
- 4:27that with you guys.
- 4:29Uh so
- 4:31segueing right into that why we created
- 4:34this trip. Of course when many people
- 4:36think about DR they think of Pakana they
- 4:38think of all-inclusives and of course as
- 4:41a certified travel agent of 16 years
- 4:44that's something that I plan all the
- 4:45time and those trips are amazing.
- 4:48However this experience is something
- 4:50completely different. It's personal.
- 4:53It's not something you're going to find
- 4:54in any brochures or on any other
- 4:57websites. It's something that we
- 4:59created. Um, as Jessica and Boscalo
- 5:02mentioned, as they've also lived on the
- 5:04island, they have experience in certain
- 5:07areas and we've all explored the places
- 5:10that we want to share with you guys. Um,
- 5:14this is different because you're going
- 5:16to get a chance to see the Dominican
- 5:20Republic not through the resort eyes,
- 5:23but through the food, the culture, the
- 5:25people instead of checking into a big
- 5:27resort with hundreds of people, buffets,
- 5:30and busy work, um, busy activities. It
- 5:33will be a private villa. It will be a
- 5:36small group. You'll enjoy authentic
- 5:39meals. You'll be taken care of by the
- 5:42three of us. will be there. Um, and
- 5:45that's just, you know, a little bit of
- 5:48it. But the real benefit of this trip in
- 5:51my opinion is having the opportunity to
- 5:55make new memor make amazing memories and
- 5:58make new friends. You know, to be able
- 6:00to sit by the beach and get to talk with
- 6:04other brothers and sisters. It's going
- 6:07to be an inclusive environment for you
- 6:09guys. So, your meals are taken care of.
- 6:12You will be able to have conversations
- 6:14over dinner or laughing by the pool.
- 6:17We're just getting to know one another
- 6:19in that atmosphere. We will have
- 6:21activities as well. And it's a great
- 6:24opportunity for you to meet new friends
- 6:26and you guys become like family, which
- 6:29of course we already are. So, um, why we
- 6:33chose the area last teras, a little bit
- 6:36about it. If you've never been, you
- 6:38don't know that area of the country, it
- 6:40is one of my favorite places. I believe
- 6:43Baslo and Jess would agree. Um, and one
- 6:46of the reasons is because unlike
- 6:48Hunakana, it does feel more authentic.
- 6:51Pontaana is very touristy. So, a lot of
- 6:53what is there is geared to, you know,
- 6:57touristy activities, whereas Loenas is a
- 7:00little bit um less traveled. So, the
- 7:04beaches are pristine. It's less crowded.
- 7:08It's got more of the true island feel
- 7:10and characters characteristics. Um,
- 7:13amazing local restaurants, friendly
- 7:15people. So, you won't feel like you're
- 7:18stuck inside a resort area. You'll
- 7:21actually be able to go out and truly
- 7:23experience what Dominican Republic feels
- 7:26like. Uh for me, my heart has always
- 7:29been in helping people to create
- 7:32unforgettable memories. And that's what
- 7:34this trip is about. We want you to come,
- 7:37whether it's with a friend, a spouse, by
- 7:39yourself, and leave with more than just
- 7:42pictures, but also have amazing stories,
- 7:45new friendships, and a deeper
- 7:47appreciation for this incredible island
- 7:49that we call home. And if that sounds
- 7:52like something you guys want to do, we
- 7:55really hope that you join us. We do have
- 7:57two dates available. So if you can't
- 7:59join us in December, there is March. Um
- 8:02and so we're going to Jess is going to
- 8:04talk a little bit more about what
- 8:06exactly will be the itinerary and the
- 8:08things that will be provided during this
- 8:10trip.
- 8:13>> Okay. So let's talk about
- 8:16yes, what is included. So, you've
- 8:19probably heard us or seen us advertise
- 8:21this as an all-inclusive style. I don't
- 8:23know how many of you guys have been to
- 8:24an all-inclusive resort.
- 8:27Can't really see all your hands, but
- 8:30probably some of you guys. Yeah, bunch a
- 8:32bunch of you guys. So, you kind of know
- 8:34what that entails. So, this is going to
- 8:36be all inclusive style in that um it's
- 8:39actually going to be more because it the
- 8:41price includes airport transportation.
- 8:44So, all you have to do is book your
- 8:45flight. um our team or our transport
- 8:48will meet you at the airport, provide
- 8:50transport in a private vehicle in a van
- 8:53to the villa. You will have your own
- 8:55private villa. Uh all of the meals are
- 8:58included. That means all breakfasts will
- 9:00be included and that includes Dominican
- 9:02cuisine too. And I think that's a a
- 9:03highlight because if you've stayed at
- 9:05resorts, maybe you've even stayed at
- 9:06resorts in Dominican Republic, we have
- 9:09too. And the food, they will say, you
- 9:11know, it's Dominican food, but it's
- 9:12honestly not that good. And I don't know
- 9:14why because, you know, there's
- 9:16Dominicans in the kitchen, but I think
- 9:17they're just cooking for the masses and
- 9:18it's just not as authentic. So, we're
- 9:21going to have authentic meals. Lunches
- 9:23will be provided. Um, things like
- 9:25barbecues, hamburgers, hot dogs, you
- 9:27know, lunch pool foods. We're going to
- 9:30include three dinners. So, that is one
- 9:32part of it. Three dinners we're going to
- 9:33have with local cuisine. We're going to
- 9:35have a chef come in. But then three
- 9:37dinners are going to be on your own. And
- 9:38that's great, too, because you can
- 9:39actually explore the town. We're going
- 9:41to have a dining guide and we have a
- 9:43couple favorite places that, you know,
- 9:45we would recommend to you guys. So, you
- 9:47can go out and have dinner on the beach
- 9:49and have fried fish and there's this one
- 9:51pizza place. I know it sounds funny, but
- 9:53it's pizza on the beach. It's so good. I
- 9:55don't know what makes pizza better when
- 9:57your feet is in the sand, but it's like
- 9:59really good pizza. So, things like that.
- 10:02Um, beverages will also be included,
- 10:03alcoholic and non-alcoholic, just like
- 10:05an all-inclusive would be. Uh we are
- 10:07going to have a guided excursion
- 10:09included in the price. Like Sher said,
- 10:11we'll have activities like we may do
- 10:13like a Latin dance night. Um we have a
- 10:16sip and paint plan, different things.
- 10:18And of course, these are optional. If
- 10:19you want to participate, you can. If you
- 10:20don't, you don't have to. And again,
- 10:22like Sheree said, we are going to be
- 10:24there with you. So you don't have to
- 10:25worry about, well, I don't speak Spanish
- 10:28or I need to get I need to go to the
- 10:30pharmacy and get something or you know,
- 10:32I want to go here. Like we can help you
- 10:34with that. So, that's you don't have to
- 10:35worry about that part of it either. And
- 10:37there are two dates, um, December and
- 10:39March.
- 10:41Let's take we'll talk about those dates
- 10:43in a little bit, but let's take a little
- 10:45tour of the villa
- 10:47that we have for you guys. So, here's a
- 10:50few pictures. Um, it's a five-
- 10:53bedroomedroom villa. Each bedroom comes
- 10:54with its own onsuite bathroom. So, it's
- 10:56basically like being in a hotel, like a
- 10:58small boutique hotel. You have your own
- 11:00room, you have your own bathroom. It's
- 11:01private. Then there's a pool to share
- 11:03with the group. There's a kitchen.
- 11:05There's living room spaces. Um, also if
- 11:08you want to press on that video, it may
- 11:09be a little choppy the video of sharing
- 11:13purposes, but we can also send it to you
- 11:14later. So, this is the villa, literally
- 11:17steps from the beach, like a little
- 11:19path, and it is the nicest beach. This
- 11:22is the pool area to enjoy. The house has
- 11:25four bedrooms inside. And then there's a
- 11:27little bungalow on the side that's kind
- 11:29of like a separate little casita, I
- 11:32guess, bungalow. And it's a queen bed
- 11:33with its own bathroom. So, there's that
- 11:35option.
- 11:37But there's nice dining area. We can
- 11:39dine outside for our meals. There's
- 11:42outdoor living, there's indoor living.
- 11:44We can have games ready for you guys.
- 11:47So, it's your choice. When you're here,
- 11:49you can either enjoy the villa, which is
- 11:51lovely, or you can go to the beach,
- 11:52which is right a pathway away. And it's
- 11:55a really nice beach because it's not too
- 11:56public. There are no private beaches in
- 11:58DR, but this beach is because of the way
- 12:02it's situated and it's hard to get
- 12:03access to for the general public. It is
- 12:05a really nice semi-private beach with
- 12:08really nice calm water, great to swim,
- 12:11great to relax, beautiful sunsets,
- 12:14beautiful sunsets.
- 12:17That is the villa. Let's talk about the
- 12:19excursions
- 12:21on the next slide.
- 12:24So, the excursion that's included in
- 12:26this trip is um a trip to a smaller
- 12:31island. Dominican Republic is an island,
- 12:33but there's another little island called
- 12:34Cay Lavant, also known as Bikardi Island
- 12:36because they shot a Bikardi rum
- 12:38commercial in the 70s and I guess it got
- 12:40really popular because of that. So,
- 12:41we're going to travel from our villa to
- 12:43the other side of the peninsula to a
- 12:45place called Sina and from there take a
- 12:47boat to this island. Now, in December,
- 12:50we're going to take before it gets to
- 12:51the island, it takes a little tour
- 12:52through a national park with these rock
- 12:55formations that kind of make you think
- 12:56you're in Southeast Asia. Like, it it's
- 12:58really cool. And you can kind of
- 12:59navigate through the caves and they take
- 13:02you on this little tour and talk about
- 13:03how the natives kind of lived in that
- 13:05area and see different carvings and
- 13:07things like that. And then it takes you
- 13:10to the island and includes lunch,
- 13:11Dominican lunch, and that is a little
- 13:13picture of the island. So, it's amazing.
- 13:16But in the March dates, that's something
- 13:18extra special because it includes a
- 13:20whale watching tour. We're going to see
- 13:22the next video.
- 13:26Again, it might be choppy, but so these
- 13:28humpback whales come from Canada every
- 13:31year. They come to this particular bay
- 13:34in Dominican Republic, and that's where
- 13:36they have their babies. So, every year
- 13:39between January and March is when they
- 13:42come without fail. and they have their
- 13:46babies. So, this this time of year is
- 13:47great to take a little boat tour before
- 13:49you do the island excursion and just do
- 13:51some whale watching the and they're
- 13:53babies, right? So, like at that time,
- 13:54March, they'll be young and playful and
- 13:56they may jump out of the water and do do
- 13:57fun things. So, it's it's really cool.
- 14:00It's really a unique experience, but
- 14:01that's only on the March date.
- 14:03So, if you guys are into whales,
- 14:05something to note.
- 14:07But there are other excursions.
- 14:10So these are all things that you this is
- 14:12why we like SA and the last area because
- 14:14there's a lot to do. Um so these are all
- 14:17optional excursions. We do know brothers
- 14:20and sisters that do tours so the prices
- 14:22are pretty reasonable. Um but these are
- 14:24the kind of things that you can do.
- 14:25Snorkeling, you can take a hike to this
- 14:27waterfall and swim in the waterfall
- 14:29pools. You can do ATV. We know a sister
- 14:32that does massage massages and she'll
- 14:34come to the house and do massages for
- 14:36you. She's amazing. Um, there's also a
- 14:41chocolate and coffee tour, so we can you
- 14:44can see how coffee and chocolate is
- 14:46made. And I I don't know if you noticed
- 14:48this picture on the top, but it's from
- 14:50one of our memorial videos. So, a lot of
- 14:52a lot of actual paradise scenes from our
- 14:55our videos were shot here in the
- 14:57Dominican Republic. So, there's this one
- 14:59famous beach that you can go to um by
- 15:03boat and see where that is, where they
- 15:05were walking. It's quite beautiful. It's
- 15:07probably one of the most beautiful
- 15:08beaches in the Dominican Republic. So,
- 15:10that would be a cool excursion to do.
- 15:12So, it's up to you. If you want a chill
- 15:15vacation and you just want to sit by
- 15:16your own beach and by the pool and enjoy
- 15:18the villa, that's great. If you want to
- 15:20do a different thing every single day,
- 15:22we can also help make that happen. So,
- 15:25it's really the kind of trip that you
- 15:26want and that it's flexible. You know,
- 15:28you're not on any itinerary. You can do
- 15:31what you want when you want to. we can
- 15:34just help facilitate you to get you in
- 15:36the right place safely from from point
- 15:38one a from point A to point B. So
- 15:42that is that.
- 15:45Uh now we're going to talk a little bit
- 15:46about the those are the seven days six
- 15:48night seven days trip we have planned.
- 15:51Now you have a choice of doing a
- 15:52three-day extension that's to Santa
- 15:54Domingo and that's where we have BEAFl
- 15:56and other things and Bos is going to
- 15:58talk a little bit about that part.
- 16:02So, just in case after seven days you
- 16:05just want to come back to a little bit
- 16:07of city life, we do have this 3-day
- 16:12Santo Domingo add-on. So, what does this
- 16:14include? Well, like we said, Bethl is in
- 16:17Sto. Domingo. So, you get to come and
- 16:20visit the nice small branch here in uh
- 16:24Sto. Domingo. It's a small family of
- 16:26about 80 80 to 90 Bethalites. A lot of
- 16:29commuters, but the landscaping and the
- 16:33property is really beautiful along with
- 16:36the new museum that was um just built
- 16:40maybe about three years ago. It's very
- 16:43nice. gives you a lot of history of
- 16:45Jehovah's Witnesses here in the country
- 16:48when they went through the persecution
- 16:49in the 1960s and how the ministry is
- 16:53thriving after all these years and even
- 16:55till now the growth is just incredible.
- 16:59Uh Dominican Republic has always been a
- 17:01country where a lot of need graders
- 17:02come. I'm sure a lot of you have already
- 17:05seen the broadcast for the month of the
- 17:07life of a needraater. Um so it was very
- 17:10beautiful to see that. Uh you'll also
- 17:13get to explore other places like for
- 17:15example this middle picture. There's a
- 17:16lot of uh culture and caves um
- 17:19throughout the whole island. But this
- 17:21one specifically is really nice. It's
- 17:23like tucked away. It's in the middle of
- 17:26the city, but you feel like you're in
- 17:28another country when you're in here. And
- 17:30very beautiful landscaping. Has these
- 17:32pools in the caves and you can spend the
- 17:35whole day there. Uh have lunch, swim in
- 17:38the pools, and just kind of relax. And
- 17:41then there's the colonial zone which is
- 17:43the oldest part of Sto. Domingo,
- 17:47supposedly the first city that was
- 17:49explored here in the island of Espanola,
- 17:51but there's more history uh with this
- 17:53city. So these are three days that you
- 17:57can add on to your 7-day trip in
- 18:00Asterenas in Sto. Domingo and get to see
- 18:03a lot of the culture, a lot more of the
- 18:05local Dominican vibe here in the city.
- 18:12So after that, um,
- 18:16let's talk about pricing now. Pricing,
- 18:18how to book, and how to save $200. So
- 18:21Shares is going to explain that to us.
- 18:29Okay, so as we mentioned, there are two
- 18:31dates. Um, our first date is December
- 18:34the 4th through the 10th. So, if you are
- 18:38looking to book that, we do still have
- 18:40some cabins. Some cabins, sorry, I was
- 18:43doing a cruise earlier. We have some
- 18:45rooms available. Um, they do start at
- 18:49$16.95 per person for double occupancy.
- 18:53That means two people are going to be in
- 18:54the room. If it's going to be single
- 18:57occupancy, the pricing is a little bit
- 18:59more because obviously it's easier to
- 19:03divide a price between two people.
- 19:06than just one. Um, sorry, my screen went
- 19:09away. Okay, there it is. So, for double
- 19:13occupancy, it starts at 16.95 and for
- 19:17single occupancy, it is 2445.
- 19:22Um, we do also have a queen suite
- 19:25available which is
- 19:27uh 23.45 for single occupancy and 16.95
- 19:32for double occupancy. So, that's the per
- 19:35person price, that makes sense. Um, the
- 19:38deposit due currently to hold your spot
- 19:41would be uh $200 due if you're booking
- 19:45today or this week. And then the 50%
- 19:48will be due by August the 15th. Final
- 19:52payment will be due by August the 31st.
- 19:55And then, of course, that's for the
- 19:57December October. Thank you. I did it
- 20:00again. October the 31st for those
- 20:04December dates.
- 20:07And then if you add on the Sto Domingo
- 20:10portion for December 10th to the 13th,
- 20:13the double occupancy is $6.95 and the
- 20:16single occupancy is $8.95. Don't worry
- 20:20if you're not getting all this
- 20:21information. We will make sure you get
- 20:22it in print as well.
- 20:25Um, for the March dates,
- 20:29the king suite is uh two
- 20:35$2,445
- 20:38for Did I say that right?
- 20:40>> Yes. For single occupancy and double
- 20:43occupancy is $18.95
- 20:46>> for the king. Right.
- 20:48>> It's just because the villa has a one
- 20:50queen, so it's a little bit discounted
- 20:52for the queen room.
- 20:53>> Oh, right.
- 20:55Um, and then the deposit for the March
- 20:59dates would be
- 21:02the $100 to hold your space. 50% will be
- 21:06due by October 15th of 2026. And then
- 21:10final payment will be due January 15th
- 21:14of 2027.
- 21:16Um, the add-on for Sto. So, Domingo
- 21:19double occupancy is $7.95 and single
- 21:22occupancy is $9.95. And of course, that
- 21:25will go along with the the pricing of
- 21:28the the rest of your package. Um, if
- 21:31you've looked at our website or when you
- 21:33go to look at it, you will notice that
- 21:35it does require you to have insurance.
- 21:38There is an insurance option available
- 21:40on the site and the cost of the
- 21:42insurance is 6% of the cost of your
- 21:45trip. So, whatever your total cost is,
- 21:48if it's one person or two people booking
- 21:50or you're adding the add-ons, then you
- 21:52can kind of estimate that will be the
- 21:55cost of that travel insurance package.
- 21:57But it does show you before you agree to
- 22:01to add it on. So, if you choose to do a
- 22:04different um insurance package, that's
- 22:07fine. We just need to have proof of said
- 22:09insurance.
- 22:11Now, how can you save a little money?
- 22:15Well, for those of you who have joined
- 22:17us tonight, we greatly appreciate it.
- 22:20Um, and so we are offering you a
- 22:23discount of $100 on your booking if you
- 22:27book in the next 24 hours. So, um, if
- 22:31you book tomorrow by this time, then you
- 22:33will have the opportunity to save an
- 22:37additional 100. Um, the will will be a
- 22:40discount code. It's very simple. It's
- 22:42the word Zoom and all caps.
- 22:45[clears throat] So, all you have to do
- 22:46when you log into the page and you go to
- 22:48make your booking is add the word Zoom
- 22:50where it asks for the discount code and
- 22:52$100 will be reduced from the cost of
- 22:55your trip.
- 23:03That's
- 23:04all for me. [laughter] Good for you. All
- 23:06right. Good. Oh, well, yeah. So the next
- 23:11um part is just question and answer. So
- 23:14I see you guys had some questions
- 23:15already that you put in the chat. Thanks
- 23:17for that.
- 23:18Oh.
- 23:21Um let's talk about these real quick. Um
- 23:23the question that you guys had in the
- 23:24chat is there going to be vegan
- 23:26vegetarian options. Um that's a good
- 23:28question. When everybody booked, if you
- 23:30book, um we were going to talk we were
- 23:32going to ask you about your eating
- 23:34preferences and styles. Um, and
- 23:37definitely if there was someone vegan or
- 23:38vegetarian, we would make accommodations
- 23:41for you for sure. I would have options.
- 23:43Uh, Dominican Republic is big on rice
- 23:45and beans, I'll tell you that. And they
- 23:47are delicious and plantains and a lot of
- 23:50other vegetables. So, uh, we could
- 23:53definitely make that work if that was
- 23:55your eating preference.
- 23:59Another question.
- 24:04So another question is will we be able
- 24:06to attend any meetings or go out in
- 24:09service? Uh that's a good question. So
- 24:12yes, there is a congregation that is in
- 24:15Lasenas. It's Spanish congregation and
- 24:20yes we know the friends there. We can
- 24:22ask them for their schedules uh for
- 24:25service and their meeting schedules and
- 24:28if it coincides with the times that
- 24:29we're there, you can definitely uh plan
- 24:32that. Uh we can get you in touch with
- 24:34the local friends so that you can go
- 24:36ahead and go out in service experience
- 24:38that that's also a very amazing
- 24:40experience to do service and go to the
- 24:43meetings. Uh and the Nancy also asked
- 24:47where do we stay during the Santa
- 24:48Domingo add-on? So we do have friends,
- 24:52Jehovah's Witnesses who have Airbnbs
- 24:54also in the vicinity of Bethl and right
- 24:58next to Bethl there is the assembly
- 24:59hall. So there are a lot of friends who
- 25:01have Airbnbs available. So we will
- 25:05depending on how many people add on the
- 25:08Santa Domingo trip, we will let you know
- 25:10and we'll send you pictures of the
- 25:12Airbnb that is available.
- 25:15>> Yeah. Um like I just to add on to what
- 25:18he said. So there are apartments. Yeah,
- 25:19right across the street from Bethl that
- 25:20we have connections with and they're
- 25:23very comfortable. We've in fact stayed
- 25:25there before. Air conditioning,
- 25:27bathrooms, hot water, all the all the
- 25:29things. So, um yeah, it'll be a
- 25:31comfortable stay, but we can also send
- 25:32more information on that too.
- 25:35>> I have a question.
- 25:37>> Yes.
- 25:38>> On the booking part, when it says Santa
- 25:40Domingo add-on experience double
- 25:42occupancy, I for my husband and I, I
- 25:45only select one or do I select two?
- 25:49Does my question make sense?
- 25:51>> Yes, you would select two.
- 25:54>> Okay, Gasha,
- 25:57>> that was it.
- 25:59>> No problem.
- 26:00>> Actually, since I've unmuted, I will
- 26:02answer the, uh, insurance question.
- 26:07>> So, um, is Alliance travel insurance
- 26:10okay or does it have to be your personal
- 26:11health insurance? Alliance is actually
- 26:14perfect and that is actually the type of
- 26:17insurance we're asking for. Your
- 26:19personal health insurance for most
- 26:22people will not cover you outside of the
- 26:24US. So, and it's not going to cover you,
- 26:28you know, for trip cancellation or for
- 26:31things of that nature. So, what we're
- 26:32actually looking for is for a travel
- 26:35insurance
- 26:37uh policy. So there is one listed on the
- 26:40website, but you can also use a third
- 26:43party if you choose to do so. That's
- 26:45fine.
- 26:48>> Right. I can do the the next one about
- 26:51the excursions and the activities. So
- 26:53Karina asked, "Are all the excursions
- 26:55activities mentioned included in the
- 26:57price or all those additional?" Mosul,
- 26:59can you go back to the slide that talked
- 27:01about the excursion that was included?
- 27:03So we have one big excursion that's
- 27:05included and that's pretty much the
- 27:06whole day. Um because we're going to
- 27:08travel to the other side of the
- 27:11peninsula and take a boat to the other
- 27:13island and lunch is included and it's a
- 27:16whole day event. The one before that the
- 27:19two months before that. Exactly. Um
- 27:22thanks. So that's included and in March
- 27:26it will include the whale watching
- 27:28because that's what's going to be in
- 27:29that area. But December, it's going to
- 27:31visit a national park and it's a bit of
- 27:33a more extensive boat boat trip and then
- 27:36it goes to the island. So that one's
- 27:37included. Now the optional ones
- 27:41on this slide, these are not included,
- 27:44but they're very reasonable. I will say
- 27:46that. For example,
- 27:48you know,
- 27:50the waterfall may be $60 or so to go
- 27:53there and that's includes lunch and
- 27:55transportation and all that stuff. I
- 27:57know the massage it's around $50 to $60
- 28:00for an hour massage. So, all of these
- 28:02things are pretty reasonable, but they
- 28:03are additional activities. Um, we talked
- 28:06about a couple activities that we were
- 28:08going to do, you know, in the villa and
- 28:10things like that. Yeah, that would be
- 28:11included. Those are just little fun
- 28:12activities in the house. But if you
- 28:14wanted to do additional excursions
- 28:15outside other than that day that we had
- 28:18planned, then yeah, that would be
- 28:19additional,
- 28:21but we can help you plan it.
- 28:25And is there an option to request an air
- 28:27mattress?
- 28:28Um,
- 28:31we have I can say that we have a twin
- 28:33air mattress. So, I mean, if anybody
- 28:36does want that because it's true all of
- 28:38the rooms in this particular villa only
- 28:39have one bed. Um, so I can see that
- 28:42being, you know, if you're traveling
- 28:44with not necessarily your partner, but a
- 28:46friend. Um, we do have a twin air
- 28:49mattress that we would be willing to,
- 28:52you know, share. So that could be an
- 28:54option.
- 28:58And are we having to pay an additional
- 29:00charge for boarding outside of the
- 29:02additional cost for Santa Domingo? So
- 29:04no, that price that you pay, the extra
- 29:06add-on that includes accommodations. So
- 29:09that includes three nights in those
- 29:11accommodations. It includes um I think a
- 29:14full list of what it includes is on the
- 29:16website, but it includes transportation.
- 29:18Um, of course taking you to Bethl,
- 29:21that's free, that's not cost, but then
- 29:23it also includes a fun lunch at this
- 29:25pool, the caves that Boslo was briefly
- 29:28mentioning in the gardens, and it invol
- 29:30includes a tour of Zona Colonial. It
- 29:32includes a lunch there. So, it's it's
- 29:35not completely inclusive, but it does
- 29:36include a lot of those extras. Um, and
- 29:39then of course, transportation back to
- 29:41the airport is included in that price.
- 29:47So, I think that covered the questions
- 29:48in the chat. Is it 18 and over? Yes,
- 29:53good point. Well, Sharice, well, you're
- 29:55on mute, but it is an adult only
- 29:58trip,
- 30:00correct?
- 30:0218 and over is a good age of adultness.
- 30:07Yes, we would we would like to do one
- 30:09for families in the future. Um because
- 30:12obviously families usually want to
- 30:14travel together. So, that's something
- 30:15that we're thinking about doing in the
- 30:16future and having a a familyfriendly
- 30:19villa and familyfriendly experiences
- 30:21with kids and all, but this one
- 30:22particularly is yes, over 18. Thanks for
- 30:24asking that.
- 30:28Does anybody else have a question for
- 30:31us?
- 30:36also all these slides uh and the
- 30:39information about the pricing. We can
- 30:41even send you this uh PowerPoint
- 30:44presentation to you if you'd like. You
- 30:46want to put your email address in the
- 30:47chat and we could send it to you. Just
- 30:49let us know that you want to see the
- 30:51presentation again. And any questions on
- 30:55pricing,
- 30:56uh you can request that as well.
- 31:00>> Yeah. So, if you need any of our
- 31:04information, um, we have our information
- 31:06here. You can scan this code for our
- 31:09website that also has all the details.
- 31:11That's how you would book as well for
- 31:13both dates. Uh, we also have our social
- 31:16media accounts um, set up with
- 31:19information. So, yep. If you have any
- 31:22more questions,
- 31:24>> I do.
- 31:24>> Which airport? Oh, Bri.
- 31:28>> Okay. So, say if we book the add-on, but
- 31:32then we find out later on that we can't
- 31:34do the add-on after we already paid for,
- 31:36like, are we able to just cancel that
- 31:39part or once it's paid for, there's no
- 31:40refunds or anything like that?
- 31:46>> Shice, you want to handle that one?
- 31:52So um basically it would be if it's
- 31:56canceled prior to the final payment date
- 32:00then yes you can have a partial refunds
- 32:04um depending on the time frame just so
- 32:06that way you know we have enough time to
- 32:09rebook that space. Um if it's after that
- 32:12final payment date then no that would
- 32:15not be refundable.
- 32:18If you have travel protection, then you
- 32:20may be able to get your money back that
- 32:22way, which is another reason why we ask
- 32:24people to purchase the travel
- 32:26protection.
- 32:28>> And you said the travel protection is
- 32:30linked when you book to
- 32:32>> Yeah. When you um go on the the link,
- 32:36you'll see at the bottom, it'll say, do
- 32:38you want to accept this travel
- 32:40protection? And it'll give you the
- 32:42options of which type. So, there's like
- 32:44cancel for any reason, cancel for work
- 32:46reasons, um you know, all those
- 32:49different things to add on or not. And
- 32:52then they'll tell you what the price of
- 32:54your package is, your insurance is
- 32:56before you accept it.
- 32:59>> Gotcha. Thank you.
- 33:00>> You're very welcome.
- 33:03Or Nancy, she says, "Which airport do we
- 33:05fly into?" Good question. Stomingo
- 33:07airport. It's SDQ is the airport code
- 33:10and it is usually the cheapest one that
- 33:13people fly into. Um from there
- 33:15transportation to Lasadenas it'll be
- 33:17about two hours, two and a half hours
- 33:19and then when we come back to Santa
- 33:21Domingo, you know, we'll be right there
- 33:23um to get you back to that same airport
- 33:25to fly home.
- 33:27>> Debbie, did you have a question?
- 33:29>> Yeah. Um, so I I think I'm understanding
- 33:32that it would be the week in the villa
- 33:35only and then if you want the extra
- 33:37days, but during that week in the villa,
- 33:40is it possible to take an excursion to
- 33:43Santa Domingo on like on your own or is
- 33:46that something you could
- 33:48arrange,
- 33:50you know, in addition to whatever
- 33:52excursions you have available?
- 33:55I think if you personally wanted to do
- 33:58that, uh we could we could arrange
- 34:00someone uh to take you like for the day.
- 34:04You mean or spend the night?
- 34:06>> No, just just like a day trip or
- 34:09something cuz otherwise it would just
- 34:10basically be the week at the beach,
- 34:13right? Except for the one day that
- 34:15you're doing the excursion to on the
- 34:17boat,
- 34:18>> right?
- 34:19>> Okay. But uh also remember that you also
- 34:23are close to a small town with
- 34:26restaurants, shops. It's not a secluded
- 34:29beach uh villa. So you you are close to
- 34:34uh you know shopping and restaurants and
- 34:38walking around town. But if you did want
- 34:40to do a day trip to Santa Domingo, we
- 34:43can arrange that as well. Um, obviously
- 34:46that would be an additional cost to
- 34:49getting the transportation,
- 34:50>> but it's doable.
- 34:52>> Okay.
- 34:52>> It's almost a threehour
- 34:56trip one way.
- 34:57>> Oh. Oh, okay. So, it'd be better like to
- 35:00stay one at least one night. Okay.
- 35:02>> Yeah.
- 35:03>> Okay. Thank you.
- 35:04>> Yeah. And if you wanted to do if you
- 35:06wanted to do that and you didn't want to
- 35:07do the additional add-on, you know that
- 35:09it would be good to do on your own like
- 35:11a day or two before after the trip and
- 35:14you know we could help facilitate or
- 35:16give you ideas. It wouldn't necessarily
- 35:18be part of the package but we could just
- 35:19kind of help you guide you like okay
- 35:20well you can stay here and do this. It
- 35:23could be an option if you wanted to do
- 35:24it that way.
- 35:25>> Thank you.
- 35:28>> As far as the beds in each room I think
- 35:30it's king size. It's king size and four
- 35:33bedrooms have king size and then there's
- 35:35one queen and the queen we're offering
- 35:38at a little bit of a discount. It's $100
- 35:40cheaper for the queen.
- 35:42>> Yes.
- 35:42>> Someone asked if we could show the
- 35:46slide with the prices again because they
- 35:49showed up late.
- 35:51>> So, is it possible to do that?
- 35:52>> I think it's on. Uh, can everyone see
- 35:54it?
- 35:55>> I don't I
- 35:58am I think um
- 36:00>> I see it.
- 36:01>> Okay. Yeah, I see.
- 36:02>> So there is the
- 36:04>> the pricing. This one is one how you can
- 36:07get the discount
- 36:09>> if you either book in the next 24 hours
- 36:14>> or if you uh
- 36:18Yeah, you book in the next 24 hours. Uh
- 36:22when drinks are provided, does that
- 36:24include water and sodas?
- 36:27Yes, water definitely. Uh sodas. Yeah.
- 36:31>> Yeah. And more there. It would include
- 36:33really I mean Yeah. Again, it's one of
- 36:35those things that when you book, we're
- 36:37going to ask your preferences. You know,
- 36:38do you like soda? Do you like tea? Do
- 36:40you like beer? Do you like wine? You
- 36:42know, what's your preference? So that we
- 36:43know what to provide. Um for sure if you
- 36:46have if you're some people are Coke
- 36:47fanatics, some people are Pepsi
- 36:49fanatics. Like if you like your Pepsi,
- 36:51we'll we'll find you some Pepsi.
- 36:53[laughter]
- 36:53But also Dominican Republic is very
- 36:55famous for juices. They have obviously
- 36:57we're in a tropical place. There's tons
- 36:58of fruit and their juice is really good
- 37:01here. So, you know, fresh juices,
- 37:04waters, um cocktails, pinina coladas,
- 37:07you know, coffee. Also, the coffee here
- 37:09is very good. So, all of the things it
- 37:11does include that.
- 37:17All right. Well, if you
- 37:20think of any more questions, um, feel
- 37:23free. another question, but one final
- 37:25thing. We did mention um the opportunity
- 37:28to get $200 off of your trip. So, we did
- 37:32talk about the $100. If you book within
- 37:34the next 24 hours, you use that discount
- 37:36code Zoom, you will get $100 off of your
- 37:39trip. The second way to earn um an
- 37:43additional $100 off of your trip, make
- 37:45sure that you follow both Clif & Cove
- 37:48and uh Gathers Travel on Instagram. We
- 37:52will be running a little contest this
- 37:55week. So, for all of those that uh tag a
- 37:58friend and refer them to us, you'll get
- 38:02um a chance and a raffle to win the
- 38:06additional $100 off of your trip.
- 38:09[snorts]
- 38:09>> I have a question.
- 38:11>> Absolutely. But if we're booking, like
- 38:13say if I book tonight,
- 38:15>> how am I going to get that extra $100
- 38:17off if already booked or
- 38:20>> Yeah, I can handle the bookkeeping thing
- 38:21on that. [laughter]
- 38:22>> Gotcha. Okay.
- 38:24Thank you.
- 38:25>> No problem.
- 38:30>> Hi. Um, I was wondering if you if you
- 38:35want to go but you're by yourself,
- 38:38>> um, do you kind of have a list of people
- 38:40who are also by themselves or you just
- 38:43leave it to the person to find their
- 38:44find a roommate?
- 38:47>> So, currently we don't have anyone going
- 38:51by themselves, but if you want to, so
- 38:54you have two options. You can book the
- 38:55single occupancy, you have three
- 38:57options. you can find someone that
- 38:59you're willing to go with. Um, we can
- 39:02put you on a wait list and if we have
- 39:04another person who wants to do single
- 39:06occupancy, we can make that arrangement
- 39:08possible. But again, please remember
- 39:11that the rooms do only have one bed. So,
- 39:13>> one bed unless you unless you like uh
- 39:17come and deer the air mattress.
- 39:20>> Exactly.
- 39:22>> Okay.
- 39:24>> And Debbie, do you have a question? Oh,
- 39:26yeah. I'm sorry. That was your question,
- 39:28right?
- 39:29>> No, no, that wasn't my question. Um,
- 39:32>> where where is the closest
- 39:33English-speaking congregation?
- 39:37>> That would be in Sosua,
- 39:41>> which is from Samana about two and a
- 39:45half hours drive.
- 39:47>> Thank you.
- 39:50>> Yeah, there are in Lasenos. It is a very
- 39:53international place. Um I think last
- 39:56time I asked one of the brothers in that
- 39:58carnation I think there was people from
- 39:59like 15 or more nationalities. So they
- 40:03are very international in Lasenas but
- 40:06the meetings are in Spanish.
- 40:07>> Yeah. They're either supporting uh
- 40:09Spanish or Creole
- 40:11>> or Haitian Creole, right? And there are
- 40:12some some deaf people in the town too,
- 40:14the brothers and sisters. There's some
- 40:16sign language.
- 40:18So
- 40:20um Annabak asked, "What time should we
- 40:22aim to arrive in Santa Domingo?" Uh that
- 40:24is a good question. Obviously, the
- 40:25earlier the better would be nice. Um,
- 40:27you know, we'll make arrangements
- 40:29regardless of what time you get there,
- 40:30but it would be it would be best to get
- 40:32there earlier in the day. Um, either
- 40:34morning or mid a early afternoon because
- 40:38then that sure
- 40:39>> say nothing later than 300 p.m. because
- 40:42it is a little bit of a of a drive and
- 40:45traffic in Sto. Domingo after that time
- 40:47is a bit
- 40:51difficult.
- 40:52>> [laughter]
- 40:52>> Well, not only that, but also the drive
- 40:55from Sto. Domingo to Laseras is a very
- 40:58beautiful ride.
- 41:00>> So, you want to get to do that drive
- 41:02during the day. There are some lookout
- 41:04points, too, where we can stop and take
- 41:06pictures.
- 41:07>> So, it would be a shame to miss it
- 41:09because of getting there at night time
- 41:11and and making that drive at night.
- 41:13>> Yeah.
- 41:16>> Yep.
- 41:19>> All right. Feel free to open your mics
- 41:21and ask any questions. We're going to
- 41:23leave it open just for a little bit.
- 41:25We're going to get these email addresses
- 41:27that came in the chat and make sure to
- 41:30email you the PowerPoint presentation.
- 41:34Um,
- 41:35>> we'll also give you our social media
- 41:36links to
- 41:37>> also give you social media links.
- 41:38>> Follow us on there for the referral code
- 41:40and or the referral way to get the
- 41:43raffle for an extra $100 off.
- 41:47Yeah. Thank you guys for being here with
- 41:49us tonight.
- 41:50>> Thank you. I hope this cleared up a lot
- 41:53of information.
- 41:55>> Don't go. Don't go. Cuz I'm trying to
- 41:57book right now and I don't see a part
- 41:59where you can put in
- 42:02>> that that um discount code.
- 42:06>> You're trying to find where to put the
- 42:07discount code.
- 42:09>> Yes.
- 42:10>> And then whenever I put in my address,
- 42:12it keeps saying invalid date. I'm like
- 42:15there what date?
- 42:17What? Um, what should you're looking
- 42:19for? December, Bri,
- 42:20>> March.
- 42:21>> For March. Give me one second.
- 42:24>> And also, I'm doing it from my phone and
- 42:26not a computer, and I don't know if
- 42:28that's an issue.
- 42:36>> Re, send me your number and I'll call
- 42:38you
- 42:41>> and walk through it. Okay.
- 42:43>> All right. I'll put it in the chat.
- 42:44>> All right. All right.
- 42:46Thank y'all.
- 42:49>> Any other questions?
- 42:52If not, I want to send a shout out to
- 42:54the Mystics.
- 42:56>> Hey, Brian.
- 42:58>> Also, we want to mention um this wasn't
- 43:00really part of our presentation, but if
- 43:02if you guys wanted to ever do something
- 43:04like this in the future for your if you
- 43:05had your own group, let's say you had
- 43:06your own group of 10 people and say, "Oh
- 43:08man, I want to go with my friends and
- 43:09family." Um that's something that we
- 43:11could definitely
- 43:13um do for you guys. you know, we can do
- 43:15a custom one of these trips just if you
- 43:17had a large enough group and with
- 43:20whatever dates that you were interested
- 43:22in. So, if if that's something that's
- 43:24you're thinking of future, you have a
- 43:25celebration coming up, an anniversary
- 43:26trip. Um, we did an anniversary trip
- 43:29like this personally in 10 years and it
- 43:31was so much fun. We had like our friends
- 43:33come and we had like a cook and it was a
- 43:36great experience because in all in a
- 43:37resort you can kind of get lost, you
- 43:39know, in all the shuffle and everyone
- 43:41spread out, but this is like a really
- 43:42nice time to to be together. So yeah, if
- 43:45you're ever interested in that down the
- 43:46road, just let us know.
- 43:49>> Thank you.
- 43:50>> We we do have a website. Let's um let me
- 43:52put
- 43:53>> the chat.
- 43:57>> Yeah. And if later you guys have more
- 43:59questions, feel free to reach out to us
- 44:01for more clarification. But we hope that
- 44:03this has helped uh answer a lot of
- 44:06questions, feel free again to reshare it
- 44:09with your friends. If you think of
- 44:10anybody that might be able to or will
- 44:14enjoy this kind of trip, uh please feel
- 44:17free to forward it to them as well.
- 44:19>> Yeah.
- 44:20>> Okay,
- 44:22Sanchez for you to book. St. W.
