3. 0:06for her daughter christy christie's
4. 0:08psychologist said the tape might help
5. 0:09the nine-year-old talk about what
6. 0:11happened the night she was shot may 19th
7. 0:14with the help of her attorney downes
8. 0:15recorded the message yesterday sitting
9. 0:17in front of the christmas tree at her
10. 0:18parents home downs told christie to talk
11. 0:21to her psychologist about her feelings
12. 0:23if there's anything that she remembers
13. 0:25it's okay to talk about it and if she
14. 0:27doesn't it's okay too she doesn't have
15. 0:29to torment herself
16. 0:31and
17. 0:32but i love her
18. 0:35lures and law enforcement officials hope
19. 0:37this tape is the key to solving the
20. 0:38mystery behind who murdered cheryl and
21. 0:40wounded the rest of the family even
22. 0:42though downs is an uncharged suspect in
23. 0:45the shootings she doesn't fear this tape
24. 0:47will open pandora's box
25. 0:49if i had been the one that did this
26. 0:52i think that
27. 0:54this would be a very terrifying thing
28. 0:55for me right now because i'm pretty much
29. 0:57allowing my daughter to speak out
30. 0:59against me
31. 1:01but
32. 1:03since i didn't do this thing there's
33. 1:04nothing to scare me
34. 1:06but it worries me that the person out
35. 1:08there might think that this tape carries
36. 1:11so much weight
37. 1:13that he will feel threatened and that he
38. 1:15will try to stop christy from speaking
39. 1:19this will be the first time christie has
40. 1:20been able to listen to her mother with
41. 1:22the court's consent but down says too
42. 1:24much emphasis is being placed on the
43. 1:26tape she thinks it will just confuse her
44. 1:28daughter more and make her distrustful
45. 1:30of people who continue questioning her i
46. 1:32don't worry for myself
47. 1:34i worry for christy because it was such
48. 1:37a horrifying night
49. 1:39and
50. 1:42there was so much blood and so much pain
51. 1:44that it's something you don't want your
52. 1:46child to remember if they don't have to
53. 1:49but they say that the first step to
54. 1:50getting well is remembering and overcome
55. 1:53overcoming it and i hope they know what
56. 1:55they're talking about
