4. 0:10and today's show is presented by

7. 0:15traveling down to New Orleans to take on
8. 0:17the Saints this weekend. So I want to
9. 0:18give you guys all the injury news you
10. 0:21need to know. Justin Jefferson, Jordan
11. 0:23Addison, talk about also a little OBJ
12. 0:25and then on the back half of today's
13. 0:26show, a final preview for the Vikings
14. 0:28taking on the Saints. Going to be a big
15. 0:30time game. Saints kind of a sneaky good
16. 0:32rivalry with the Minnesota Vikings. So
17. 0:34always good time playing down there in
18. 0:35New Orleans. But first talk about Justin
19. 0:37Jefferson. This is what he said uh had
20. 0:39to say on if he is playing versus the
21. 0:42Saints. Saying, "That's definitely the
22. 0:43plan. Being back at home in Louisiana is
23. 0:46something I want to do. I want to be out
24. 0:49there. That's the main thing. I hate
25. 0:51missing games. I hated it missing last
26. 0:52week. I wanted to be out there last week
27. 0:54especially at home. I never want to miss
28. 0:56any time. It's been a little tough.
29. 0:59They've been holding me back a little
30. 1:00bit. Just not trying to force anything.
31. 1:03And I think clearly this game, you know,
32. 1:05for Justin Jefferson, I mean it's what?
33. 1:07Once every
34. 1:09probably like four years Jefferson does
35. 1:11get to play in New Orleans in his
36. 1:13hometown. I think the last time the
37. 1:15Vikings played the Saints it was over in
38. 1:16London.
39. 1:18Um
40. 1:19or maybe that was before the Josh Dobbs
41. 1:20year. But I don't think Jefferson was
42. 1:22playing that game. I think the last time
43. 1:23Jefferson played the Saints was in
44. 1:25London. So I clearly this game, you
45. 1:27know, means something to Justin
46. 1:29Jefferson. He's going to have a bunch of
47. 1:30family there. And you also like I think
48. 1:32the bye week I think people view it in
49. 1:34two different ways. It's like you could
50. 1:35say, "All right, the Vikings have their
51. 1:36bye week six after the Saints game. So
52. 1:38might as well just hold them out." Like
53. 1:40there's no reason to rush him back. You
54. 1:41can get him an extra week. Hold him out
55. 1:43until the week seven game. Or you could
56. 1:44think about it as like, "All right, we
57. 1:46do have that bye week. If he does, you
58. 1:48know, re-tweak that ankle, he'll have a
59. 1:50full two weeks off to rehab it. So it's
60. 1:53a slippery slope either way. But I'm
61. 1:54sure if Jefferson wants to play, they'll
62. 1:56let him play. And plus this is a
63. 1:58big-time game for the Vikings. You can
64. 1:59move the five and 0 on the season, have
65. 2:01a bye week, get Jordan Mason back, get
66. 2:03really healthy, then you're feeling
67. 2:05really good at home against Indianapolis
68. 2:07Colts. But, a guy that could get
69. 2:09elevated for game day, OBJ. Jefferson
70. 2:11was talking about that
71. 2:13and saying the connection has always
72. 2:14been there. We've always kind of talked
73. 2:15about this moment and one day being able
74. 2:18to play with each other. But, for it to
75. 2:19actually be here, it's definitely crazy.
76. 2:22And it was funny, OBJ said the reason he
77. 2:24took number nine was because Justin
78. 2:26Jefferson took half of his game from
79. 2:28OBJ. Not wrong there. Like, Jefferson
80. 2:30and OBJ, their games are very similar.
81. 2:32But, OBJ said this, said he could tell
82. 2:34Justin Jefferson was watching him
83. 2:35closely as a young kid, could see that
84. 2:38Justin wanted to be great. It's his
85. 2:40exact quote, saying, "To get to watch
86. 2:42him live that out is pretty amazing.
87. 2:44He's got a chance to be one of the best
88. 2:46to ever do it. It's special to be able
89. 2:49to be here with him." So, OBJ fired up
90. 2:51about it, but there's a chance that OBJ
91. 2:54has a chance of playing this weekend
92. 2:55because the Vikings injury report from
93. 2:57Wednesday. Now, it is already changing.
94. 3:00Um
95. 3:01Jordan Addison, I don't know if he'll be
96. 3:04a limited participant or a full
97. 3:05participant, but he was back out there
98. 3:07at practice on Thursday. But, again,
99. 3:09hamstring injuries,
100. 3:11anytime I see a hammy, especially a DMP,
101. 3:13I'm going to assume he's not going to
102. 3:14play. I don't think Darrisaw will play.
103. 3:15He wasn't out there on Thursday as well.
104. 3:17So, that's something to follow. Aaron
105. 3:19Jones should be good. Brian O'Neill
106. 3:20should be good. Then, you're getting
107. 3:22your punter back, Brett Thorson. Thank
108. 3:23God. Um Johnny Hecker was horrible last
109. 3:26week. But, this is what KOC had to say
110. 3:28about Jordan Addison, saying, "Just a
111. 3:30little hamstring soreness, kind of got
112. 3:32tugged on one of T.J.'s catches late in
113. 3:33the game. Going to give him another day
114. 3:35and hopefully get him back to some
115. 3:37limited work and some work throughout
116. 3:39the rest of the week. Consider it minor
117. 3:41if it's anything at all." So, maybe
118. 3:43there is a chance Jordan Addison ends up
119. 3:44playing. KOC seems confident about that,
120. 3:46but I think there's a chance that OBJ
121. 3:49ends up being a game-day elevation. And
122. 3:51just the way that Kevin O'Connell
123. 3:53was talking about Odell, and
124. 3:57it wasn't even just like
125. 3:59you know, him being complimentary about
126. 4:01their times in Los Angeles. Like, it was
127. 4:03a legitimate I felt like Kevin O'Connell
128. 4:05views like Odell as like, "Oh no,
129. 4:06there's stuff left in the tank." And I
130. 4:08think KOC thinks like, "Hey, there's an
131. 4:10open competition at wide receiver three.
132. 4:12I don't think it's for sure with the
133. 4:13limited amount of production that Jauan
134. 4:15Jennings has had that he's for sure the
135. 4:17wide receiver three." Cuz KOC also said
136. 4:18this, "I know Odell's preseason tape.
137. 4:21Said he looked explosive. He looked like
138. 4:23Odell Beckham to me." He did. Everybody,
139. 4:25after you watch this video, please go
140. 4:27look at Odell's preseason stuff. Is he
141. 4:29like the same guy where he's going for
142. 4:311,300 yards every season with the New
143. 4:33York Giants? No, but he was very very
144. 4:36smooth, explosive, and he didn't come
145. 4:39here to just sit on the practice squad
146. 4:41all year. I think and especially with
147. 4:43Kevin O'Connell calling Odell right
148. 4:45after the Giants let him go. They have
149. 4:47that Super Bowl connection back in Los
150. 4:49Angeles. Jauan Jennings hasn't been too
151. 4:50productive. There are some trade rumors
152. 4:52around Jauan Jennings.
153. 4:54Ty Felton still work in progress. Miles
154. 4:56Price still more of a gadget guy. Like,
155. 4:58I think there is a very good chance this
156. 5:00season
157. 5:01after the trade deadline and like the
158. 5:03Vikings, if they're in 11 personnel
159. 5:04where they got three wide receivers and
160. 5:06it's late in the game, two-minute drill,
161. 5:08that I think the three wide outs would
162. 5:10be if they're fully healthy, Jefferson,
163. 5:12Addison, and Odell. All three silky
164. 5:15route runners and also just the juice in
165. 5:16the fives that Odell brings. Plus Randy
166. 5:18Moss back in the locker room. Like,
167. 5:20there's a lot of positive energy around
168. 5:22this Vikings team right now, and I think
169. 5:23Odell, even if he doesn't end up
170. 5:25contributing this season, he's great in
171. 5:27the locker room. All these younger cats
172. 5:29on the Vikings team, they all look up to
173. 5:30him. They look at him as almost an icon
174. 5:32and a legend in this, you know, National
175. 5:34Football League that they're playing in
176. 5:36right now. So, if you guys could, let me

178. 5:39this season on the field for the

209. 6:43obviously Dalton Jackson more likely
210. 6:45than not he will miss the remainder of
211. 6:47the season. Ryan Van Demark will
212. 6:49probably end up starting at left tackle
213. 6:51and this is what the Vikings offensive
214. 6:52line will probably look like against the
215. 6:55New Orleans Saints. Now,
216. 6:57I don't think it's great. Like it's
217. 6:58probably one of the
218. 7:00I'd say a bottom 15 offensive line,
219. 7:02bottom half of the league getting ruled
220. 7:04or rolled out there this weekend. But
221. 7:06again, playing against the Saints. They
222. 7:07got the worst scoring defense in the
223. 7:09league.
224. 7:10Well, Ezra Cleveland, Brian O'Neill,
225. 7:11hopefully they'll hold down their side.
226. 7:12And Van Demark and Joe Huber, like Huber
227. 7:15Huber was solid against the Dolphins. I
228. 7:16don't think it's going to be as big as a
229. 7:18fall off as people are making it out to
230. 7:19be. Um but Van Demark played pretty good
231. 7:22as well. So, hopefully they're just
232. 7:24solid. Now, I think some of the top
233. 7:25storylines for me and what I'm watching
234. 7:27here against the New Orleans Saints. Uh
235. 7:28for me number one, it's got to be the
236. 7:30Vikings run game in this matchup. The
237. 7:32Saints got absolutely gashed by the
238. 7:34Atlanta Falcons. Now, the Atlanta
239. 7:35Falcons, they got Bijan, Brian Robinson,
240. 7:38you know, they just have different
241. 7:39caliber of running backs in Atlanta
242. 7:41compared to what we got in Minnesota,
243. 7:42but also with the Vikings like
244. 7:45if you want to lean into this winning
245. 7:46formula where you're, you know, relying
246. 7:49on your defense, you're relying on the
247. 7:50special teams. I guess the offense you
248. 7:52can be conservative, but I do think like
249. 7:54if you want to get to that Super Bowl
250. 7:56contention,
251. 7:59you got to have a run game even if your
252. 8:00offense is conservative. Cuz if your
253. 8:02offense is conservative and you can't
254. 8:03run the football, that will, you know,
255. 8:06be the results that you're getting this
256. 8:07upcoming or so far this season where the
257. 8:09Vikings have not as productive
258. 8:10offensively, but they get that run game
259. 8:12going, man oh man, I'll be, you know,
260. 8:14very, very, very excited about where
261. 8:16this Vikings offense can go. And number
262. 8:18two,
263. 8:19Taylor Shuck,
264. 8:21I just think he's in for a a really rude
265. 8:23awakening against this Vikings defense.
266. 8:26Number one, the Saints can't run the
267. 8:28football.
268. 8:29If you can't run the football, you're
269. 8:30already playing with one arm behind your
270. 8:32back no matter the defense you're
271. 8:33playing, but especially against Brian
272. 8:36Flores, if you can't win on early downs
273. 8:38and just get yourself in positive
274. 8:40situations on second and third down,
275. 8:42you're going to get beat. And also, got
276. 8:44to be able to throw the ball over the
277. 8:45middle of the field. He can't throw the
278. 8:48ball over the middle of the field. I
279. 8:49don't know if this is just the Saint
280. 8:50Saints offense or if this is just a
281. 8:52Shuck, but also like you see like, oh,
282. 8:53he had 286 yards and a touchdown. One of
283. 8:56those touchdowns came when the game was
284. 8:5745 to 17. He also threw the ball 48
285. 9:00times. And everything is to the left,
286. 9:03doesn't throw it to the right side of
287. 9:04the field. And this is consistent with
288. 9:06what we have seen
289. 9:08throughout his career. He doesn't attack
290. 9:10the middle of the field well. Like
291. 9:11Shuck, I think he's a fine quarterback.
292. 9:12I don't think he is the problem in New
293. 9:14Orleans whatsoever. I think there's more
294. 9:16around him that needs improvement. No
295. 9:18run game, can't attack the middle of the
296. 9:19field. I think it's going to look more
297. 9:21of like what these four quarterbacks
298. 9:23have looked like where the Vikings 51%
299. 9:25completion percentage, only 800 yards in
300. 9:28four games, three passing touchdowns and
301. 9:30four interceptions. This also goes back
302. 9:31to last year. I think the Vikings have
303. 9:33given up I I it's five passing
304. 9:36touchdowns in the last 11 games. Like
305. 9:38that's an unbelievable statistic for the
306. 9:40Minnesota Vikings. You got to be able to
307. 9:41run the ball. Saints can't. They don't
308. 9:42have a lot of talent at the running back
309. 9:43position. So, I think this is a really
310. 9:46good spot where
311. 9:48Honestly, like
312. 9:51This is why I also am so confused why
313. 9:52the spread is one and a half.
314. 9:54It's like I'm feeling more confident
315. 9:56about this Vikings team heading in this
316. 9:57week than I did last week against the
317. 9:59Dolphins.
318. 10:00It It's just flat I just think it's a
319. 10:01tougher match up for the Saints against
320. 10:03this team compared to Miami. Like Miami
321. 10:05does feel like a well-coached team.
322. 10:07They got some good running back talent
323. 10:08with Raheem Mostert and I thought he
324. 10:10really had a good game going back and
325. 10:11watching it, but
326. 10:12like Jordan Love, Keil Wilson or Keil
327. 10:15Williams and Baker Mayfield, they
328. 10:16couldn't do it. You think Kyler Murray
329. 10:18is going to do it with no run game? I
330. 10:19just don't think so. And then, you know,
331. 10:21Kyler Murray
332. 10:22is someone I'm definitely watching. It's
333. 10:24just him building off the fourth
334. 10:25quarter. I mean, we've shown the stats a
335. 10:26million times. 13 of 14, 120 yards. He
336. 10:29was decisive. He was getting the ball
337. 10:31out quick. He was doing his dang thing.
338. 10:32He looked really good in that game. Now,
339. 10:34if he can take that, parlay it to this
340. 10:36upcoming week, and then maybe we look up
341. 10:38and I'm not anticipating him throwing
342. 10:40for 480 yards this weekend and doing
343. 10:42this every single quarter, but can Kyler
344. 10:44just have a
345. 10:45Hey, man, go out there and have a 275
346. 10:47and three touchdown game.
347. 10:48Like go light it up. He does that,
348. 10:50Vikings win this game by three scores at
349. 10:52least. And also start building that
350. 10:53connection with Justin Jefferson.
351. 10:56Like we saw him build that connection
352. 10:57with T.J. Hockenson. I think that's also
353. 10:59been an underrated storyline. And I
354. 11:01don't anticipate like national media cuz
355. 11:03still like people still thought T.J.
356. 11:05Hockenson was, you know, T.J. Hockenson
357. 11:07heading into the year. I did not. Most
358. 11:08of us didn't. T.J. Hockenson's looked
359. 11:11awesome this year. Not even just the
360. 11:12game against the Dolphins. Uh I thought
361. 11:14the Bears game he was really good. I
362. 11:16thought the Tampa game he was good as
363. 11:17well. He has looked dynamic. He's looked
364. 11:19a lot more just spry and he's been
365. 11:21moving well. Like you got a Hock, you
366. 11:23got a Addison, you got Jefferson. If you
367. 11:25get that Jefferson connection going,
368. 11:27like then this whole offense can really
369. 11:29start to go.
370. 11:30And I think they could be really set up
371. 11:31for success, but lastly, contenders or
372. 11:34pretenders. A lot of talk this week
373. 11:36about the Vikings. Everybody thinks
374. 11:37they're pretenders. Like they should be
375. 11:38coming into this game
376. 11:40like
377. 11:41with a massive chip on their shoulder.
378. 11:44Where every time you've turned on ESPN,
379. 11:45Fox Sports, they have all been saying
380. 11:48the Vikings are frauds, the Vikings are
381. 11:49frauds, the Vikings are frauds. And they
382. 11:51opened up this spread at two and a half.
383. 11:53It's already getting bet down to one and
384. 11:55a half.
385. 11:57I'm sorry, the Vikings should be
386. 11:58seven-point favorites in this game.
387. 12:00This is incredibly disrespectful. You
388. 12:02have the best defense in the league by a
389. 12:04wide margin. You got an offensive-minded
390. 12:06coach with Justin Jefferson getting
391. 12:07back. The fact that this is two and a
392. 12:09half is a crime to me. I would be
393. 12:11shocked if the Vikings lost this game.
394. 12:13Flatly shocked, and I think it's going
395. 12:15to be a dominating performance on the
396. 12:17backs of the defense again, but I think
397. 12:19the offense is going to get going. And
398. 12:20I've changed my score prediction.
399. 12:22Earlier in the week I had 20 to 13. I
400. 12:24think it's going to be 30 to 13. I think
401. 12:26the Vikings are going to put their nuts
402. 12:27on the table, send a message to the rest
403. 12:29of the National Football League, and be
404. 12:30like, "Yeah,
405. 12:31you know what? This offense is here now.
406. 12:33Now what are you guys going to say about
407. 12:34us?"
408. 12:35Like, "Oh, the whole week, they got a
409. 12:36bad offense. It's not going to change.
410. 12:39Defense is still going to be dominant."
411. 12:41Now the offense is going to get it
412. 12:42going. I think they're going to beat the
413. 12:43Saints, and I think they're going to
414. 12:44beat the brakes off of off of New
415. 12:46Orleans. I got them winning 30 to 13.
