  2. 0:02hello i'm laura silva and i'm here with
  3. 0:05my father jose silva one of the
  4. 0:07questions that we're asked above all
  5. 0:09questions as we meet people throughout
  6. 0:11the world when we travel presenting
  7. 0:13lectures is what is the silva method
  8. 0:16would you explain to us in your own
  9. 0:18words what is the silva method
  10. 0:21well laura the silver method is many
  11. 0:24things really
  12. 0:25but
  13. 0:26to be able to get the
  14. 0:28foundation doing beginning points
  15. 0:31correctly let's say it's a
  16. 0:34in so many words
  17. 0:36it's a method
  18. 0:38of mind training
  19. 0:40that develops the control
  20. 0:42of our mind
  21. 0:44method of
  22. 0:45exercises of mental training
  23. 0:48that gives us control because it is said
  24. 0:50laura that usually it is believed
  25. 0:53that a non-controlled mind
  26. 0:55is always
  27. 0:57destructive
  28. 0:58so we say to be constructive enter
  29. 1:00creative we need to discipline our mind
  30. 1:04and then we call control of our minds
  31. 1:07when we when we say mind control or we
  32. 1:09mean our own self mind control not
  33. 1:11somebody else's minds okay
  34. 1:13self or out or mind control
  35. 1:16so it's a series of mental exercises
  36. 1:19mental gymnastics whereby we develop the
  37. 1:22faculty of visualization and imagination
  38. 1:25to be able to better control our minds
  39. 1:27that's what it means so what you mean is
  40. 1:30mind control actually could be also
  41. 1:32explained as mind development
  42. 1:35well actually when you learn something
  43. 1:37that you can do with your mind you're
  44. 1:38developing your mind to delve into other
  45. 1:40things yes
  46. 1:42okay
  47. 1:43so in order to begin uh to explain this
  48. 1:46laura we need a little history because
  49. 1:48actually people would like to know how
  50. 1:50did you ever get started on something
  51. 1:51like this okay
  52. 1:53so to begin with the first experience
  53. 1:56that i had was when i joined the service
  54. 1:58when i was drafted
  55. 2:00at the time i was married with three
  56. 2:02kids
  57. 2:04and uh talking to a psychiatrist
  58. 2:06this man attracted my attention
  59. 2:09i observed the man talking to other
  60. 2:11people
  61. 2:12questioning other
  62. 2:13inductees
  63. 2:15and
  64. 2:15he attracted my attention because i felt
  65. 2:17that the man
  66. 2:18is asking silly questions
  67. 2:21and i wondered
  68. 2:22uh being a lieutenant colonel
  69. 2:25i could imagine the salary he's getting
  70. 2:28to answer the questions i wonder what
  71. 2:30phil is in what kind of silly questions
  72. 2:32were they well when it came my time
  73. 2:35the first question was you see i'm 30
  74. 2:37years of age
  75. 2:38married with three kids
  76. 2:40and he asked the question do you wet
  77. 2:41your bed
  78. 2:43i thought i had heard wrong
  79. 2:45how was that sir i said do you wet your
  80. 2:47bed you mean at night anytime
  81. 2:51well uh i didn't know that uh 30 year
  82. 2:54old people with their beds you know i
  83. 2:55said no sir i don't wet my bed
  84. 2:58i wondered i thought it was silly the
  85. 3:00question you know then the next question
  86. 3:02was do you like women and i said what
  87. 3:04the heck is going on here
  88. 3:06i said alex i'll answer the question sir
  89. 3:08in this matter i'm married with three
  90. 3:10kids you figure it out how's that huh
  91. 3:13and that's what what field are you in
  92. 3:14really why do you silly questions he
  93. 3:17said well may they might may sound silly
  94. 3:19to you but there's a reason for it i'm
  95. 3:22sure there is because the government
  96. 3:24would be paying you the salary that i
  97. 3:26believe you're getting just for asking
  98. 3:28the questions is you're right
  99. 3:29then i'm asking the questions how did
  100. 3:31you ever get interested in such a field
  101. 3:34and he said well it's a long story but
  102. 3:36they don't care which way the questions
  103. 3:38and answers go they want to see if it
  104. 3:40makes sense either way i think i'll
  105. 3:42figure that out later of course
  106. 3:44so then he said you look this book up
  107. 3:46and read it and you will know how i
  108. 3:48became interested he gave me the title
  109. 3:50of a book the history of psychiatry
  110. 3:53now that was the beginning of me getting
  111. 3:55involved in the study of psychology
  112. 3:57that's where my control started really
  113. 3:59it seems like you've always had a very
  114. 4:00inquisitive and
  115. 4:03and then
  116. 4:04a mind looking for information i always
  117. 4:07been like this curiosity they say you
  118. 4:09know
  119. 4:10what makes a watch tick you know this
  120. 4:12kind of thing
  121. 4:13and getting involved in trying to
  122. 4:15discover new things and the inventions
  123. 4:17and so on i have always been attracted
  124. 4:19to this this is why my field since i was
  125. 4:2240 years of age i started to study
  126. 4:24electronics
  127. 4:26and that's my my field electronics my
  128. 4:28professional electronic technician
  129. 4:30so this is how we can
  130. 4:32begin looking into the field of
  131. 4:34psychology
  132. 4:35and standing on my own as a hobby
  133. 4:38when i got out of the service
  134. 4:39i really took it very seriously in going
  135. 4:42out to hear lectures and participate in
  136. 4:44some lessons that some of these
  137. 4:46top-notch psychologists and
  138. 4:48psychiatrists were teaching just to sit
  139. 4:50in and hear these people what are they
  140. 4:52teaching how do they get started you
  141. 4:54know
  142. 4:55and i continued to study psychology
  143. 4:58along the study of psychology i came
  144. 5:00across the term hypnosis
  145. 5:03now i wanted to know what that is
  146. 5:06so i started to look into it investigate
  147. 5:08the field
  148. 5:09and i started under some of the big
  149. 5:11names in in in the field of hypnosis and
  150. 5:14hypno analysis
  151. 5:16i became proficient in it to be able to
  152. 5:18hypnotize they call it
  153. 5:20to cause an individual to enter a state
  154. 5:22of mind whereby
  155. 5:25the person can go or could go through
  156. 5:27surgery without the use of chemical
  157. 5:29anesthesia and that's as deep as you can
  158. 5:31hypnotize anybody so i became proficient
  159. 5:34in that
  160. 5:35but then again
  161. 5:36kept on studying psychology and along
  162. 5:39comes the term parapsychology now what
  163. 5:42is that
  164. 5:43para psychology
  165. 5:45i investigated the field and found out
  166. 5:47that organizations with the people
  167. 5:50some scientists uh top high-ranking
  168. 5:52scientists interested in the
  169. 5:55extraordinary mental faculties of human
  170. 5:57beings
  171. 5:58that whenever they heard about an
  172. 6:00individual they had this extended sense
  173. 6:02perception type of mind that would bring
  174. 6:05him into the lab and to test them to
  175. 6:07figure out what makes him tick you know
  176. 6:10i figured at first i thought that maybe
  177. 6:12these people also
  178. 6:14could teach people how to develop the
  179. 6:15faculty in talking to dr ryan when the
  180. 6:18top
  181. 6:19parasitologists in the world
  182. 6:21he said no there's no way you can
  183. 6:23develop it
  184. 6:24it's something that god has given us god
  185. 6:26gifted individuals some have a lot of it
  186. 6:28some have very little of it some have
  187. 6:30none of it at all
  188. 6:31well it didn't make sense to me i
  189. 6:33figured i don't think god discriminates
  190. 6:35you know to give us more or something
  191. 6:38that doesn't give others the same amount
  192. 6:40whatever my own thinking anyway
  193. 6:43but he stuck to it he said you cannot
  194. 6:44develop it it's something like the iq
  195. 6:47factor you cannot develop the size
  196. 6:49called size factor the intuitive factor
  197. 6:51is the same name for it to be able to
  198. 6:54sense information with your mind
  199. 6:56as compared to sensing information with
  200. 6:58your biological senses
  201. 7:00so
  202. 7:01this is this is i got pretty involved in
  203. 7:04psychology but kept on studying
  204. 7:07the field of psychology i came across
  205. 7:09the term
  206. 7:10electrocephalography
  207. 7:12the electronic equipment to major brain
  208. 7:15waves
  209. 7:16boy that really attracted it was a nice
  210. 7:18story for me you see my field is
  211. 7:20electronics i'm i'm i'm
  212. 7:23full
  213. 7:25fully developing in the field that i'm i
  214. 7:27mean expertise though so it's full
  215. 7:29circle for me that is
  216. 7:31uh as i started experimenting and
  217. 7:33footing around we say with the idea of
  218. 7:36the electrocephalograph
  219. 7:38the equipment to major brainwaves and to
  220. 7:40measure the output the strength of your
  221. 7:42brain output you see your brain
  222. 7:44vibrates
  223. 7:45so many times per second like your heart
  224. 7:48beats so many times per minute
  225. 7:51and the brain prefers i found prefers to
  226. 7:53function more than 5 10 and 20
  227. 7:55vibrations more than any other vibration
  228. 7:58but then again to begin with we wanted
  229. 8:00to know i wanted to know uh one of the
  230. 8:02first frequencies detected in the fetus
  231. 8:04for instance what are the first
  232. 8:06frequencies that the brain starts
  233. 8:08operating on
  234. 8:09well we i found out that you could
  235. 8:11measure brain waves in the field stage
  236. 8:13even when the fetus is in the mother's
  237. 8:15womb before being born or born you see
  238. 8:18so the first frequencies are the lowest
  239. 8:20frequencies of brain
  240. 8:22and that's called the delta frequency we
  241. 8:24have a chart here that indicates those
  242. 8:27frequencies here you see the depth of
  243. 8:29frequency is in the black band
  244. 8:31and we'll discuss it shortly later right
  245. 8:33at the bottom in the black band and
  246. 8:35that's between one half and four cycles
  247. 8:37per second
  248. 8:38well this is the area that the fetus is
  249. 8:41functioning on before being born
  250. 8:43then i found out that the frequencies
  251. 8:46keep on increasing the overall average
  252. 8:48of a child keeps on increasing according
  253. 8:50to age
  254. 8:51we find that
  255. 8:53if you're 10 years old that's more tense
  256. 8:54than any other vibration in your brain
  257. 8:5715 more 50s and so on it seems like it's
  258. 9:00getting is growing at a higher frequency
  259. 9:03rate or frequency
  260. 9:05situation or range according to the age
  261. 9:08meaning that once you get to be 20 years
  262. 9:11of age you get stuck on 20 you make a
  263. 9:14girl out of 20 25 34 years of age the
  264. 9:17overall average brain frequency of human
  265. 9:19beings is 20 vibrations per second
  266. 9:22but the overall brain frequency of a
  267. 9:24child depends on the age it's lower
  268. 9:27always lower than the overall average
  269. 9:29rate frequency of a mature adult
  270. 9:31so then i start to look into what is
  271. 9:33going on here
  272. 9:35our human development we call it
  273. 9:37the child grows in cycles and they are
  274. 9:40called
  275. 9:41seven-year cycles of growth
  276. 9:44every seven years is a different
  277. 9:46dimension for growth i would say and
  278. 9:48they're called when you're growing and
  279. 9:50adding more to your body
  280. 9:52they're called anabolic cycles
  281. 9:55so we're supposed to grow to peak
  282. 9:58growth
  283. 9:59in seven anabolic cycles
  284. 10:01meaning seven times seven is 49
  285. 10:05so the child starts growing the first
  286. 10:06seven year anabolic cycle the child
  287. 10:09starts to learn how to talk
  288. 10:11to walk
  289. 10:12to
  290. 10:13do things that
  291. 10:14interested in many areas
  292. 10:17and but the mind of a child we find
  293. 10:19functions only what is called
  294. 10:21inductively
  295. 10:23the child of about seven years of age
  296. 10:25while developing set of teeth and so on
  297. 10:27he does not develop the analytical
  298. 10:29processes of the mind which means the
  299. 10:31child does not know how to analyze
  300. 10:34he only responds to the environment
  301. 10:36and he adjusts himself to the
  302. 10:37environment
  303. 10:39so the environment is in control of the
  304. 10:40human being up to age seven
  305. 10:43now between seven and fourteen the
  306. 10:45second anabolic cycle
  307. 10:47the child develops a new set of teeth
  308. 10:50the male starts talking into mature
  309. 10:53adult
  310. 10:54level between 7 and 14 and the female
  311. 10:57goes into her monthly rhythm now here
  312. 11:01the
  313. 11:01mind starts functioning analytically
  314. 11:04which means
  315. 11:05the deductive faculty of mind
  316. 11:08appears on the scene between 7 and 14
  317. 11:10years of age
  318. 11:12now here the analytical processes
  319. 11:15sometimes
  320. 11:16this is called the critical
  321. 11:18consciousness
  322. 11:20the so-called
  323. 11:22individual who can analyze be skeptical
  324. 11:24if he wants to or whatever reject or
  325. 11:26accepting someone and his own reasons
  326. 11:28why and so forth
  327. 11:29well the
  328. 11:30deductive faculty of mind which means
  329. 11:33intelligence that's what it means has
  330. 11:35come into being
  331. 11:36so we find that human intelligence
  332. 11:38reigns between seven and fourteen years
  333. 11:40of age is when it starts appearing
  334. 11:43within the human being male or female
  335. 11:46and this is the most important section
  336. 11:48of the mind where we should learn
  337. 11:49everything we are about to learn between
  338. 11:517 and 14
  339. 11:53which means this is the center of human
  340. 11:55intelligence we call it
  341. 11:57now we are distinguishing it between the
  342. 11:59center of biological or animal
  343. 12:02intelligence
  344. 12:03you see the first
  345. 12:04the first cycle sometimes called an
  346. 12:06octave
  347. 12:08an octave
  348. 12:09seven subdivisions of anything
  349. 12:11active and active is a full dimension an
  350. 12:14active is something compared to a
  351. 12:15kingdom
  352. 12:16a kingdom is self-supporting with its
  353. 12:19own rhythm kingdom which means something
  354. 12:22like
  355. 12:23the kingdom of music
  356. 12:24composed of seven notes not eight it's
  357. 12:27called an active anyway
  358. 12:28because number eight is the indication
  359. 12:31that we're getting into another octave
  360. 12:33the first of the second actor so up to
  361. 12:35seven is a full active a full team
  362. 12:36though
  363. 12:38a full dimension the dimension of music
  364. 12:40called the kingdom of music seven notes
  365. 12:42the dimension of pure white light the
  366. 12:44kingdom of pure white light it's seven
  367. 12:47colors of the rainbow and so on and the
  368. 12:50dimension for biological bodies living
  369. 12:52on the planet it's called seven chakras
  370. 12:54and so on so it's a full kingdom here
  371. 12:58seven years is a full kingdom a full
  372. 13:00active
  373. 13:01it's a full dimension so the charlie in
  374. 13:03the second kingdom second active
  375. 13:06second anabolic cycle develops the
  376. 13:08faculty
  377. 13:09deductive faculty of mind develops the
  378. 13:12analytical
  379. 13:13faculty of mind which means the center
  380. 13:16of human intelligence resides within the
  381. 13:18second anabolic cycle and frequency wise
  382. 13:21there's a correlation there there is
  383. 13:23because actually we say
  384. 13:25the second anabolic cycle ranges between
  385. 13:287 and 14 cycles and the center is 10.
  386. 13:31and that's called in the the chart
  387. 13:34in the blue area
  388. 13:35the center of the green is ten cycles
  389. 13:38it's called the alpha dimension or
  390. 13:41kingdom
  391. 13:43of mind see and brain activity
  392. 13:46so this has become very popular now
  393. 13:49because now we understand where human
  394. 13:51intelligence functions
  395. 13:53the center of the brain frequency
  396. 13:55spectrum our full spectrum on the
  397. 13:57average is 20 vibrations 10 is the
  398. 13:59center well here laura is in connection
  399. 14:02to the right brain hemisphere we didn't
  400. 14:04know that
  401. 14:06and the right brain hemisphere when we
  402. 14:08are not able to use it for thinking we
  403. 14:10call it the subconscious
  404. 14:12so this is why people and scientists are
  405. 14:14saying that what we're doing is teaching
  406. 14:17people how to function consciously
  407. 14:19within the subconscious so what you mean
  408. 14:22is that there's
  409. 14:23many people walking on this planet who
  410. 14:26only function at a certain frequency of
  411. 14:28brain which is probably a high frequency
  412. 14:30of beta without learning how to use the
  413. 14:33subconscious consciously and only
  414. 14:35actually using part of their brain or
  415. 14:37their human potential only one brain
  416. 14:40hemisphere versus two brain hemispheres
  417. 14:42that's correct in other words in the on
  418. 14:44this chart here again we have in the
  419. 14:46blue area the beta region is called you
  420. 14:49see those names those words those the
  421. 14:51terms were selected by scientists is the
  422. 14:54greek alphabet we know
  423. 14:56but they're not in the proper order of
  424. 14:58human development they're the order of
  425. 15:00how they were discovered
  426. 15:02so because at the time that they were
  427. 15:03looking into the brain the equipment was
  428. 15:05not so so sensitive not so sophisticated
  429. 15:08as you have it now and the only
  430. 15:11frequency they could detect was the
  431. 15:12strongest one of the brain so the
  432. 15:14strongest one was the alpha
  433. 15:16this is what i found out later to in my
  434. 15:18own research you see so here is the
  435. 15:20second anabolic cycle in the first
  436. 15:23anabolic cycle
  437. 15:24the this is called the
  438. 15:26level of
  439. 15:27animal intelligence all animals function
  440. 15:30within the first
  441. 15:31actor
  442. 15:32between or within the first anabolic
  443. 15:35cycle between one and seven cycles per
  444. 15:37second
  445. 15:38so enable the center of biological or
  446. 15:40animal intelligence is five vibrations
  447. 15:43but the center of human intelligence is
  448. 15:45ten vibrations and at the time vibration
  449. 15:48point is the connection to the right
  450. 15:49brain hemisphere
  451. 15:51now we keep on developing and humans we
  452. 15:54find i have found in the research that
  453. 15:56i've done here
  454. 15:57that uh on the average about nine out of
  455. 16:00ten human beings bypass
  456. 16:03the connection with to the right brain
  457. 16:05hemisphere
  458. 16:06and in the third antibiotic cycle which
  459. 16:09reaches up to 21
  460. 16:11they get stuck on 20 and actually they
  461. 16:13do all their thinking and acting on 20
  462. 16:15vibrations of the brain
  463. 16:17when it seems like that we should
  464. 16:20learn to first do our thinking on 10 the
  465. 16:23second anabolic cycle and act on 20 the
  466. 16:27third anabolic cycle now these people 90
  467. 16:30of humanity are thinking and acting on
  468. 16:33the wrong dimension
  469. 16:34they're thinking of dimension that
  470. 16:36should be only acting
  471. 16:37the thing they mentioned is where human
  472. 16:39intelligence resides the center of human
  473. 16:42intelligence in the alpha so we should
  474. 16:44all learn to do our thinking at alpha
  475. 16:47the center part of the brain frequency
  476. 16:50spectrum and do our acting on the 20 at
  477. 16:53the top limit of the range in turn using
  478. 16:56more of our human potential and human
  479. 16:58faculties it seems that the alpha region
  480. 17:00that you speak of
  481. 17:02is not only the area where we can
  482. 17:04then trigger right brain hemisphere
  483. 17:06function or use more of our brain and
  484. 17:08mind but it's also the most synchronized
  485. 17:11i believe you've i've heard you say and
  486. 17:12the most strongest or the strongest of
  487. 17:15all the frequencies that's why i was
  488. 17:16detected first
  489. 17:18okay in research
  490. 17:20when i said that the brain prefers to
  491. 17:22function more than 5 10 and 20 my
  492. 17:25curiosity was which of the three is the
  493. 17:27best can we say that and how can we go
  494. 17:30about saying that it is so i figure well
  495. 17:33let's say being orderly or synchronized
  496. 17:36is one more synchronized or another they
  497. 17:38would say that one that's more
  498. 17:39synchronized is better is one more
  499. 17:42stronger than the other then the
  500. 17:44strongest one we say would be better so
  501. 17:45i went for that looking for
  502. 17:47synchronicity of the brain frequency
  503. 17:49output in 5 20 20 and the strength of
  504. 17:52the output of the brain
  505. 17:53i found that the weakest one of the
  506. 17:55three
  507. 17:57the
  508. 17:57least organized or the most
  509. 18:00desynchronized
  510. 18:01was the 20 vibration where most humanity
  511. 18:04functions 90 of people take an act on
  512. 18:07and the strongest of the three was the
  513. 18:0910 vibrations of the brain the strongest
  514. 18:11and the most synchronized the most
  515. 18:13stable of the three
  516. 18:15so then we should be thinking what's the
  517. 18:17strongest and actually the weakest how
  518. 18:20does a person get to think how difficult
  519. 18:22or how easy is it for a person to learn
  520. 18:25to trigger right brain function to be
  521. 18:27able to go into that second octave that
  522. 18:29you talk about as far as human
  523. 18:31development and use the alpha
  524. 18:33frequencies to do their thinking in
  525. 18:36how easy is it for a normal human being
  526. 18:38to do that and what are the benefits
  527. 18:42well first of all we found that 10
  528. 18:43percent of humanity know how to use it
  529. 18:46naturally
  530. 18:47they don't need to be taught
  531. 18:48we don't know how they came about it
  532. 18:50they for the to begin with they're using
  533. 18:53that dimension to think with they think
  534. 18:55on 10 electron 20 which is the ideal but
  535. 18:58then we started to label these people
  536. 19:01the center thinker or the people who
  537. 19:03those are thinking at the center of the
  538. 19:05brain frequency spectrum the normal
  539. 19:08average spectrum is 20
  540. 19:10and the center of course is 10. so those
  541. 19:13who do their thing and intent we call
  542. 19:15them centered thinkers
  543. 19:16of course the ones that do their
  544. 19:18thinking on the extreme end of the band
  545. 19:21we call them not off-centered but
  546. 19:23eccentrics of center which same thing
  547. 19:26so
  548. 19:27eccentrics there are 90 percent of
  549. 19:28people are eccentrics in their way of
  550. 19:30thinking and only 10 percent are
  551. 19:32centered in their way of thinking now
  552. 19:33our idea was can we get the eccentrics
  553. 19:37to become centered
  554. 19:39and this is where the research came in
  555. 19:41trying to figure out
  556. 19:42can this be done can we use yoga for
  557. 19:45instance
  558. 19:46together to slow down the brain waves
  559. 19:48like yogis do
  560. 19:49and i found out the yogis went to five
  561. 19:51cycles
  562. 19:52and didn't help us any we want to stop
  563. 19:54at 10
  564. 19:55because 10 is the center of human
  565. 19:57intelligence
  566. 19:58a person going to 5 is like a person
  567. 20:01being 5 years of age his mind functions
  568. 20:03only inductively they don't have the
  569. 20:05analytical capacity or faculties there
  570. 20:09so
  571. 20:10looked into the
  572. 20:12zen type zen type meditation again we
  573. 20:15could use it because it went to five
  574. 20:16again everybody wanted to go to the
  575. 20:17deepest levels
  576. 20:19and so did transcendental meditation
  577. 20:22and hypnosis all went to five i couldn't
  578. 20:26use their systems it was too deep there
  579. 20:28was no analyzing being done at that time
  580. 20:30there's no freedom of mind perhaps
  581. 20:31that's correct the individual just enter
  582. 20:33the dimension they call it passive
  583. 20:35meditation and the way to see if
  584. 20:37something comes to them they cannot
  585. 20:39activate their minds to analyze or look
  586. 20:42into anything try to
  587. 20:44find answers to problems for instance
  588. 20:46because there's mental activity
  589. 20:48if they activate their mind they get
  590. 20:50other level come out to 20 again so they
  591. 20:52couldn't do it so we didn't want that we
  592. 20:54weren't losing faculty of the deductive
  593. 20:56faculty of mind the analytical processes
  594. 20:59we wanted a system to stop on ten nine
  595. 21:01on five so we started to investigate and
  596. 21:04uh started working with individuals
  597. 21:07uh i told dr ryan that we had developed
  598. 21:09one individual that could do this dr
  599. 21:11wright wouldn't believe it he said
  600. 21:13you're fully yourself there's no such
  601. 21:14thing maybe the person that you work
  602. 21:16with
  603. 21:17had the ability already and you thought
  604. 21:19you trained them and he could be right
  605. 21:21but we did pre-test we know about
  606. 21:23pre-testing then
  607. 21:24so then we trained from 19
  608. 21:2844 for instance in 1953 from 1953 to
  609. 21:311963 we trained 39 more
  610. 21:35individual trains
  611. 21:36during what dates between 1953 and 1963.
  612. 21:41we trade 39 individually trained we knew
  613. 21:44we could do it then to get him to stop
  614. 21:46on 10.
  615. 21:47so the doctor right still wouldn't
  616. 21:49believe it same but then i started
  617. 21:51working with groups
  618. 21:5220
  619. 21:53people in the group 20 females 20 males
  620. 21:56and 50 1550 between 1963 and 1966 at
  621. 22:00trade groups and to see how long would
  622. 22:02it take or can i trade a group instead
  623. 22:04of a person individually we find out
  624. 22:06that we could do it
  625. 22:07so then this is how god will get started
  626. 22:10you're talking about 1953 and you're
  627. 22:12talking about first being exposed to the
  628. 22:15idea of brain development or of mind
  629. 22:19use and mind faculties back in the 40s
  630. 22:22it must have been very challenging for
  631. 22:23you getting into areas of mind
  632. 22:25development such as hypnosis and
  633. 22:27parapsychology which seemed to be things
  634. 22:30that were so unknown at the time and how
  635. 22:33did the public react to that how did the
  636. 22:35people react to to you getting involved
  637. 22:37with such we're here radar
  638. 22:40they thought i was working with the
  639. 22:41devil
  640. 22:43and uh
  641. 22:44religions what drinks communicate me my
  642. 22:46own religion
  643. 22:48thing that i was working for the devil
  644. 22:49to see
  645. 22:50it got to a point that they didn't know
  646. 22:51what i was doing i think how can you
  647. 22:53judge something that you don't know
  648. 22:54that's been done
  649. 22:56you don't even know what personality is
  650. 22:57i'm they're dealing in parasiticality so
  651. 22:59they stopped getting after me because of
  652. 23:01that they didn't know what they were
  653. 23:02what i was doing really and when they
  654. 23:04found out that i was doing something
  655. 23:05good that people liked and people wanted
  656. 23:07more of i mean
  657. 23:08then they came on my side see but at
  658. 23:11first it was tough the newspaper would
  659. 23:13take our ads
  660. 23:14uh on sunday massa they would say don't
  661. 23:16go over there well we'll practice it
  662. 23:18because that's on the devil you know
  663. 23:19this kind of thing so we had about ten
  664. 23:21years of that until finally we got over
  665. 23:23it that was about in the early fifties
  666. 23:25then
  667. 23:26between 1944 1953
  668. 23:29but then by 1966 we came out to see if
  669. 23:33people liked what we had
  670. 23:34and would pay for our services because
  671. 23:37we were spending too much time and money
  672. 23:39in research
  673. 23:40and then
  674. 23:41we wanted to give it a try and we were
  675. 23:43invited to
  676. 23:44weldon baptist university to lecture on
  677. 23:47whether we had
  678. 23:49discovered and they liked what we had
  679. 23:51and we created some projects here that
  680. 23:54they went for and they wanted more and
  681. 23:56then from here people started to talk
  682. 23:57about it
  683. 23:58what they were doing at weyland am i
  684. 24:00really heard about it lubbock heard
  685. 24:01about it and they invited us to come
  686. 24:03lecture for them then finally we started
  687. 24:05to put the class together to teach
  688. 24:07people because they wanted to be trained
  689. 24:09a group of people wanted to be tracing
  690. 24:10can you teach us what you taught over
  691. 24:12the abuela what you talked about yes
  692. 24:15when you come and teach us here that's
  693. 24:16how mango got started
  694. 24:18the first paying class in other words
  695. 24:20and now you at this point in time you're
  696. 24:22worldwide with millions of graduates
  697. 24:24throughout the world who are
  698. 24:25successfully using the method can you
  699. 24:27imagine that you went to wayland baptist
  700. 24:29university to lecture what is your
  701. 24:32educational background
  702. 24:34well my education background we need to
  703. 24:36talk about a little later on because i
  704. 24:38have none so it's a it recover me a
  705. 24:41couple of seconds to explain i've never
  706. 24:43been to school i've never seen a class
  707. 24:45i have not learned my abcs in english or
  708. 24:47spanish
  709. 24:48and luckily i have learned to read and
  710. 24:51write the spanish language and to read
  711. 24:53and write the english language also
  712. 24:56only god knows how that happened really
  713. 24:58because i sometimes do not remember how
  714. 25:00it came about it was so slow that before
  715. 25:02i knew i was reading spanish and writing
  716. 25:05it and english and writing it this is
  717. 25:07how i became interested in the field of
  718. 25:09electronics when i became 14 years of
  719. 25:11age and when i started to study
  720. 25:13a correspondence course in electronics i
  721. 25:15could understand it then
  722. 25:17in an english language but i've never
  723. 25:19gone to school i have no formal
  724. 25:21education
  725. 25:22they say that i have a doctorate
  726. 25:24well the doctor that i have is an
  727. 25:26honorary award
  728. 25:27in humanities because the work i've done
  729. 25:30but not because it's academic it's not
  730. 25:32an academic degree it's an honorary
  731. 25:34award
  732. 25:35it seems like you've been to
  733. 25:36universities not for education but to
  734. 25:38educate
  735. 25:40it's interesting to thought you know
  736. 25:41because i i've gone to so many
  737. 25:43universities and colleges in the united
  738. 25:44states and around the world only to
  739. 25:46teach her to lecture but never to learn
  740. 25:48it's very interesting
  741. 25:49that is interesting a self-educated man
  742. 25:52and we're all very proud of you
  743. 25:54it's been great talking as far as this
  744. 25:56whole segment is concerned as to what is
  745. 25:58the silver method what is mind
  746. 26:00development and get a little bit into
  747. 26:01the history of the silver method end of
  748. 26:04mind development it's been good to find
  749. 26:06out how is that we can utilize this
  750. 26:08particular aspect of our being how we
  751. 26:10can develop our potential to a maximum
  752. 26:13perhaps to be able to live more
  753. 26:15successfully
  754. 26:16it's it's always been known to me that
  755. 26:18the underlying goal of the simple method
  756. 26:20is problem solving to solve problems not
  757. 26:22to create problems but to solve problems
  758. 26:25in this way the civil method and what we
  759. 26:28learn as far as using more of our mind
  760. 26:30more of our abilities more of our human
  761. 26:32potential can actually assist us in that
  762. 26:34drive and this is something we will
  763. 26:36continue to talk about in future
  764. 26:38programs
  765. 26:39that is correct we want to how using
  766. 26:42mind for instance in health and
  767. 26:45education in religion in many
  768. 26:47applications yes
  769. 26:48mine is a common denominator
  770. 26:51user educate your mind and you educate
  771. 26:53the human
  772. 26:54humanity in general really we'll talk
  773. 26:56more about what the mind is the
  774. 26:58definition for mind get ideas as to what
  775. 27:00are we talking about actually when we
  776. 27:02say these words what we mean as far as
  777. 27:04these things are concerned and
  778. 27:06find out more about ourselves and be
  779. 27:08able to develop our abilities in a more
  780. 27:10keen way to be more productive more
  781. 27:11successful happier healthier human
  782. 27:14beings that's right and god gave us the
  783. 27:16power to do so in the faculties also
  784. 27:18only we were not aware that we had those
  785. 27:20faculties we would not didn't know how
  786. 27:22to use our mind really so learn to use
  787. 27:24your mind and you learn to be more
  788. 27:26successful in life in every area every
  789. 27:28application yes great thank you very
  790. 27:30much join us again in our next program
  791. 27:33and find out more about what you can do
  792. 27:35and help yourself to be the person you
  793. 27:37want to be realize those goals solve
  794. 27:40those problems use more of your human
  795. 27:42potential use more of your brain use
  796. 27:44more of your mind and be the person that
  797. 27:46you want to be join us again thank you
  798. 27:48for joining us now
