  1. 0:04the allegations of you know ci hacking
  2. 0:07into you know senate computers nothing
  3. 0:09could be further from the truth i mean
  4. 0:10we wouldn't do that i mean that's that's
  5. 0:13that's just beyond the uh you know the
  6. 0:15scope of reason in terms of what we see
  7. 0:17when the facts come out on this i think
  8. 0:19a lot of people who are claiming that
  9. 0:21there has been this tremendous sort of
  10. 0:23spying and monitoring and hacking will
  11. 0:25be proved wrong well cia director john
  12. 0:29brennan reversed his stance this week
  13. 0:31after an internal cia inquiry found the
  14. 0:33spying indeed took place with the
  15. 0:35involvement of 10 agency employees
  16. 0:38brennan apologized to lawmakers in a
  17. 0:40briefing earlier this week the cas also
  18. 0:42retracted counter-allegations that
  19. 0:44senate staffers illegally remove
  20. 0:46classified information from a top-secret
  21. 0:48facility the white house is standing by
  22. 0:50brennan citing president obama's quote
  23. 0:52great confidence in his leadership but
  24. 0:54at least two members of the senate
  25. 0:56intelligence committee democrats mark
  26. 0:58udall of colorado and martin heinrich of
  27. 1:00new mexico are calling for brennan's
  28. 1:02resignation talk about this revelation
  29. 1:05that you just exposed
  30. 1:07so um after all of
  31. 1:09this what had been this behind the
  32. 1:12scenes battle unprecedented battle
  33. 1:14between uh the uh cia and its senate
  34. 1:17overseers apparently john brennan asked
  35. 1:20his uh inspector general
  36. 1:23david buckley to look into senator
  37. 1:25feinstein's allegations that the cia had
  38. 1:29in fact
  39. 1:31without authorization and in breach of
  40. 1:33an agreement with the senate staff had
  41. 1:35intruded into a database that was for
  42. 1:38the use by the senate staff only
  43. 1:40apparently his or his david buckley came
  44. 1:43back with his findings that a
  45. 1:46number of cia
  46. 1:48i.t specialists three it specialists
  47. 1:51five
  48. 1:52cia officers and i believe was two
  49. 1:54attorneys uh had in fact either
  50. 1:58without permission breached uh the
  51. 2:00senate committee's database or caused it
  52. 2:03to be breached uh we also find out that
  53. 2:06the complaint that the cia
  54. 2:08referred to the justice department uh
  55. 2:10that uh containing allegations that the
  56. 2:12senate staff had without permission
  57. 2:14without authorization removed top secret
  58. 2:17classified documents from the secret cia
  59. 2:20facility in which they were doing their
  60. 2:21work was apparently made on with on
  61. 2:25with a uh incorrect information that it
  62. 2:28was based it was not factually based so
  63. 2:30that's gone away but although the cia
  64. 2:33the justice department in fact had
  65. 2:34dropped the case uh
  66. 2:36beginning of last month although very
  67. 2:39interestingly this the justice
  68. 2:40department said that it had found no
  69. 2:43reason to proceed with a criminal
  70. 2:44investigation or insufficient evidence
  71. 2:46to proceed with a criminal investigation
  72. 2:48at this time so it's possible that the
  73. 2:51justice department could take a new look
  74. 2:53at all of this
  75. 2:55we have to wait and see there have been
  76. 2:56calls by some members of congress and
  77. 2:59civil uh civil rights organizations that
  78. 3:01this justice department ought to take a
  79. 3:03new look at
  80. 3:04what went on and you know the thing
  81. 3:07about all of this is that i think
  82. 3:08president obama the white house uh staff
  83. 3:11the cia
  84. 3:13a lot of people on capitol hill had
  85. 3:15hoped to put this issue behind them once
  86. 3:18the senate
  87. 3:19intelligence committee's report is
  88. 3:21issued and i don't think this is going
  89. 3:22to go away anytime soon
  90. 3:36you
