9. 0:21public's passion and imagination why why
10. 0:25is everyone so obsessed with Jodi arias

13. 0:42was shot and stabbed to death by Jodi

16. 0:51dragged across the floor it took
17. 0:54approximately a hundred and thirty six
18. 0:56seconds for Travis to go from this
19. 1:00- this Travis Alexander's death sent out
20. 1:05shockwaves of destruction affecting
21. 1:08Travis's family Jodi's family the
22. 1:11prosecution and the man who spent over
23. 1:1410 months defending her in court is
24. 1:19guilty of any crime at all it is the
25. 1:24crime of manslaughter if Jodi arias was
26. 1:29perceived as evil her court-appointed
27. 1:31defense attorney Kirk Nurmi was thought
28. 1:34to be defending a monster Nurmi
29. 1:37weathered both trials defending his
30. 1:39client to the best of his ability the
31. 1:42demands of the area's trial war were
32. 1:44overwhelming my job as an attorney was
33. 1:46to save her life ultimately Nurmi did
34. 1:50keep Jodi off of death row but his
35. 1:53efforts were not without consequences in
36. 1:57August of 2015 I noticed the swelling
37. 2:01under my armpit it was cancer I
38. 2:03definitely believe the stress of saving
39. 2:07mysteriousness life was the recently did
40. 2:09cancer came into mine death penalty
41. 2:12cases are extremely stressful on the
42. 2:15attorneys who are defending a capital
43. 2:17defendant it's not surprising to have a
44. 2:19physical reaction to it Nurmi
45. 2:22successfully underwent chemotherapy
46. 2:25emerging a changed man through
47. 2:30chemotherapy I began to take a hard look
48. 2:33at what I wanted to do and what I wanted
49. 2:34to do with my life it was during this
50. 2:37period of reflection that Nurmi decided
51. 2:40to write a book about his experience on
52. 2:42the arias trial trapped with MS arias I
53. 2:46mean he lets loose he says that Jodi
54. 2:49drove him crazy when she would disagree
55. 2:51with him she'd lay down on table and cry
56. 2:53she was flirtatious she even discussed
57. 2:57her vaginal grooming with him it's not
58. 3:00surprising that after the book's
59. 3:02publication Jodi filed a complaint with
60. 3:05the State Bar of Arizona against Normie
61. 3:07because he violated attorney-client
62. 3:09privilege

65. 3:14to fight for a career he no longer
66. 3:17wanted they wanted to suspend me for
67. 3:19four years I saw it
68. 3:22disbarment gladly gave away my law
69. 3:26license without admitting to any
70. 3:28wrongdoing it would have been a fool's
71. 3:30errand I would have spent a lot of money
72. 3:32and a lot of energy merely to maintain
73. 3:36the law license that I had no desire to
74. 3:38hang on to a year and I there has not
75. 3:43been a day when I wished that I had not
76. 3:45made the decision that I made
77. 3:47currently Nurmi coaches other lawyers
78. 3:50who were having difficulties balancing
79. 3:52the rigors of the job against their
80. 3:54personal well-being my job literally
81. 3:57almost killed me the American Bar
82. 4:00Association says one in three lawyers
83. 4:01either has a mental health problem our
84. 4:04drinking problem I wanted to work to
85. 4:07have lawyers that are struggling with
86. 4:10their own personal issues but Jody's not
87. 4:13done with Nurmi yet on October 25th 2017
88. 4:19arias filed another lawsuit against
89. 4:22Nurmi over his book this time seeking
90. 4:26punitive damages in the form of an
91. 4:28undisclosed sum of money I'm not
92. 4:31surprised arias made the choice to sue
93. 4:34me because if it's one thing I am the
94. 4:36world's leading expert on in this world
95. 4:38I believed Jodi arias would be that
96. 4:40thing I stand by everything that is in
97. 4:44the book as being true and I looked
98. 4:47forward to going into court and
99. 4:49confronting each and every one of the
100. 4:51objections she knew so what inspired
101. 4:54Jodi's new lawsuit respectfully that's
102. 4:57the question for them not me you're
103. 4:58asking me to speculate I can't speculate
104. 5:00but the Internet does not lack people
105. 5:03who are willing to speculate about Nurmi
106. 5:06about Jodi and about the night of June

108. 5:11one outrageous theory suggests Jodi did
109. 5:15not act alone

123. 6:03small but vibrant community on the
124. 6:06Internet Jodi's uber fans have developed
125. 6:10alternative theories about what might
126. 6:12have actually happened that night some
127. 6:15say it was a Mormon blood sacrifice
128. 6:18others up the ante and suggested it was
129. 6:21a satanic ritual
130. 6:23both of these outlandish scenarios
131. 6:26assume multiple accomplices helped Jodi
132. 6:28killed Travis and then there's the outer
133. 6:31fringe of Internet speculation where
134. 6:34Jodi is actually Kourtney Kardashian in
135. 6:38all this noise however there is one
136. 6:40person who has come forward who believes
137. 6:43she has a legitimate alternative theory
138. 6:45Donovan barring I meant Jodi arias in
139. 6:492008 in the Phoenix County Jail he
140. 6:51became very very good friends in the six
141. 6:53months that I was there with her the two
142. 6:55cellmates forged enough of a bond that
143. 6:58Jodi trusted Donovan to run Jodi's
144. 7:01controversial Twitter account during her
145. 7:03trial I became and continued to be her
146. 7:06friend her right-hand man as I was
147. 7:08running her Twitter account
148. 7:09Donovan stood by Jodi throughout both
149. 7:12trials but there came a time when
150. 7:15Donovan like so many other people began
151. 7:18to doubt Jodi's credibility she would
152. 7:22manipulate

178. 8:22contact with the mysterious Matt who
179. 8:24claims that Jodi was the aggressor said
180. 8:28she looked crazy the look at her eyes he
181. 8:30had never seen in her before Donovan
182. 8:32wants Matt's story out in the world it
183. 8:35was not how it was portrayed in any way
184. 8:37by Jodi arias and the truth needs to
185. 8:39come out she's where she needs to be

187. 8:43God nobody else his lives were taken if
188. 8:45anybody else would have been there there

229. 10:36enough I think at one point she had over

231. 10:40but in the wake of her conviction and
232. 10:43after a falling out with Donovan she no
233. 10:47longer had regular access to her
