Full transcript
- 0:00Previously on Dance Moms. On top of the
- 0:02pyramid IS BROOKE. HOW DARE YOU OR HOW
- 0:05DARE ME? When can Kendall have a solo?
- 0:07When can Kendall be more a part of what
- 0:10everybody else gets a part of? You need
- 0:11to tell your mother to knock it off.
- 0:13She's going to get in trouble. In second
- 0:15place, Abby Lee [music] Dance Company.
- 0:18Second is the first one to lose. You did
- 0:22not just tell me to shut up.
- 0:23>> Yes. I cannot stand this bickering. If I
- 0:25have to lose somebody on this team, I
- 0:28will do that. Coming up on Dance Moms.
- 0:30[music] Each and every dancer will be
- 0:32doing a solo. Mom gets to help out with
- 0:34the costumes. I have costumes she's
- 0:36never seen on stage or on my daughter or
- 0:38anybody [music] else.
- 0:39>> Dance Explosion has been canceled. Oh my
- 0:41god. See if there's another competition
- 0:43that we can go to.
- 0:44>> There's a competition in Clovis, Texas.
- 0:48WHATEVER. WHATEVER. I'LL PACK MY BAGS
- 0:50AND GO HOME RIGHT NOW. I'M SICK OF THIS.
- 1:02>> [music]
- 1:12>> LADIES, let's go. COME ON.
- 1:16WHAT'S WITH YOUR SHOES? I didn't think
- 1:18you'd mind. I'm on my toes. The floor is
- 1:20$68,000.
- 1:23All right. First I want to talk about
- 1:25last week.
- 1:27>> [music]
- 1:30>> I must say I'm a little disappointed. We
- 1:32were just out-danced. It's that energy
- 1:34level. You can't have a bunch of slugs
- 1:37out on stage. This weekend, we will be
- 1:39attending Dance Explosion
- 1:43in Secaucus, New Jersey. You're going to
- 1:45get some heavy hitters there. I'm
- 1:46telling you right now.
- 1:48I'm going to start with the pyramid.
- 1:50And first,
- 1:52I have Kendall.
- 1:54Kendall,
- 1:55I thought you did a nice job. You're
- 1:57here because your mother is way too
- 2:00needy. Abby, that's ridiculous.
- 2:03>> Why isn't she doing a solo? Why isn't
- 2:05she doing a duet? Why doesn't she have a
- 2:06special part?
- 2:06>> And that's needy? That's inquisitive.
- 2:08Why doesn't she have a solo? Kendall's
- 2:10in the very bottom spot on the pyramid
- 2:12and mommy didn't like that very much.
- 2:14>> You're punishing her for something I
- 2:16did.
- 2:16>> Bingo. There you go.
- 2:19Moving on.
- 2:21Nia, once again, I need to see energy, I
- 2:24need to see excitement. The next we have
- 2:27Brooke.
- 2:28You're back. But, is Brooke really back?
- 2:31I'm really happy to be back at the Abby
- 2:33Lee Dance Company. I just feel a lot of
- 2:35pressure on me.
- 2:36>> Moving on.
- 2:38Paige, great job in the tuck.
- 2:41I just need to see you do that
- 2:43throughout all of your dancing. I'm
- 2:45really upset that I'm not higher on the
- 2:47pyramid because I had my own part in the
- 2:49dance and I did really good in it.
- 2:51>> Moving on up the ladder,
- 2:53Maddie.
- 2:54You danced well. I expect more from you.
- 2:57Chloe, same thing. Great performance on
- 2:59stage. You just need to learn to pick up
- 3:01quicker.
- 3:03And at the top of the pyramid,
- 3:06Mackenzie.
- 3:11I've never been on the [music] top of
- 3:12the pyramid, so that's why I'm really
- 3:14surprised. She won in Nutley, New
- 3:16Jersey. She won in Long Island, New
- 3:19York. Do you have another win in you for
- 3:21Secaucus, New Jersey? I don't know.
- 3:25We are not going to do a group routine
- 3:28this week.
- 3:30Each and every dancer will be doing a
- 3:31solo.
- 3:33It's every man for himself. This is your
- 3:36chance to shine. Every girl is doing a
- 3:38solo this week, but I still need to do
- 3:40the pyramid. They need to see how they
- 3:42rank in my eyes. And for one time only,
- 3:47you all get to help out with the
- 3:49costumes. Since we are doing seven
- 3:51completely different solos this weekend,
- 3:54I don't have time to worry about
- 3:55costumes.
- 3:56>> This is your chance to go for that Tony,
- 3:58Christi.
- 3:59You're going to come to me, show me what
- 4:01you have, and I can veto it or I can
- 4:04accept it. So, Abby's final little
- 4:06surprise, the pyramid, is that the moms
- 4:08are responsible for the costumes this
- 4:10week. [music] And there are to be no
- 4:12recycled costumes and no costumes that
- 4:14she has seen before. I don't want to see
- 4:16anything from any other studios. I want
- 4:18to see you come up with something
- 4:20original. Moms, I'm going to dismiss you
- 4:22at this time. Girls, spread apart, start
- 4:25warming up.
- 4:30I'd like to know how she's going to get
- 4:32seven solos [music] done in a day. In a
- 4:34day. With solos, it's only you. There's
- 4:37no one to hide behind. There's no one to
- 4:39blame something on. You either go out
- 4:41there and you kick ass or you fall flat
- 4:43on your face.
- 4:48Stop.
- 4:50My solo is an acro jazz routine and it's
- 4:53called "She the Cutie Water". Now, can
- 4:56you like Oh, yawn.
- 5:00Oh, yes.
- 5:02I don't have time to make a costume. I
- 5:04mean, it's great that
- 5:06If you guys don't have old costumes and
- 5:08your kids have been dancing We're not
- 5:09allowed to use them again. You're not
- 5:10allowed to use any of your costumes.
- 5:11>> I still I have I have tons of costumes.
- 5:13>> but you're not allowed to use any of
- 5:14them, she said.
- 5:15>> She said none from
- 5:16>> None. Trust me. I have costumes she's
- 5:18never seen on stage or on my daughter or
- 5:20anybody else. She's not going to know.
- 5:23She'll know. Sneaky Jill is telling us
- 5:25that oh, I just might use one of
- 5:27Kendall's old costumes because Abby
- 5:28hasn't seen it yet. Well, that's not
- 5:30playing by the rules. Do you see how
- 5:32this works in our company? You just
- 5:34speak up about a special part, you got
- 5:35booted down the end of the pyramid. Now
- 5:37you're going to go against the costume
- 5:38thing? I still
- 5:39>> came in with your boots on. You know
- 5:41what? Exactly. I want to know why you
- 5:43got to wear your boots and I had to take
- 5:44mine off.
- 5:45>> Well, you know what? I can follow the
- 5:46rules and I actually understand what's
- 5:49going on here and I won't let that
- 5:51happen again where my actions [music]
- 5:53are going to affect my child.
- 5:54>> all that happens here. You better go to
- 5:56a new studio.
- 5:57>> [laughter]
- 5:57>> You better keep yourself like in a
- 5:59bubble because anything you do wrong
- 6:01She's one of those people who every time
- 6:03something happens, she writes it into a
- 6:04contract.
- 6:05>> Why do you think WE'RE STILL HERE? WE IN
- 6:07OUR CONTRACT, IT SAYS CUZ OUR KIDS want
- 6:08a title, if we left that it would cost
- 6:10us $100,000 in cash within 7 days or she
- 6:13would blackball us in the world of
- 6:15dance.
- 6:16>> She's crazy. Yeah. Well, flat-out crazy.
- 6:18When you sign up at the Abby Lee Dance
- 6:20Company, she makes you sign a contract.
- 6:22And the contract basically says that
- 6:25[music]
- 6:25she owns you for a year.
- 6:27>> Yeah, but I don't know how much clout
- 6:28she has. She's got a lot of connections.
- 6:30I know kids have left here. [music]
- 6:32>> Yes, and she's blackballed them all.
- 6:33She's ruined them.
- 6:34>> Okay, and you guys couldn't have told me
- 6:35this before I came in here?
- 6:37>> You wanted to come.
- 6:43Hello, my sweet little apples.
- 6:46So, here we are again.
- 6:49Let's go to the PPP, the Perfect
- 6:51Positive Pyramid, and let's just take a
- 6:53little look-see at what we've got going
- 6:55on.
- 6:56All of us this week [music] are all
- 6:59equal.
- 7:01Then we've got that top card
- 7:04with a big question mark.
- 7:07Now, let's get serious about this
- 7:08question mark.
- 7:10Abby Lee Dance [music] Center had an
- 7:13open call for some new talent. If she
- 7:16can look for new talent, why can't we?
- 7:20So, here's what we're going to do. We're
- 7:22going to have an open call, a large
- 7:24crowd, lots of volume, and it's going to
- 7:25be fun.
- 7:34>> [music]
- 7:39>> My solo this week is a Spanish influence
- 7:42and [snorts] the song is instrumental.
- 7:44Well, it has some like [music]
- 7:46little Spanish singers in the back.
- 7:56>> [music]
- 7:57>> You have 3 days to get this number
- 8:01clean. And if one thing a Spanish dance
- 8:04is, is clean [music]
- 8:06and precise. Yes?
- 8:09Yes.
- 8:10I'm seeing a big hot mess, is what I'm
- 8:12saying.
- 8:14I'm really excited that I can have my
- 8:16own solo this week.
- 8:19>> [music]
- 8:19[singing]
- 8:26[music]
- 8:32[music]
- 8:33>> I know you guys don't give clout to the
- 8:35pyramid. I just feel ashamed and
- 8:38humiliated for my daughter. Kendall
- 8:40deserves to be at the top of that
- 8:42pyramid. She did a great job in the
- 8:44group number this week. She did a
- 8:45[music] lot better than some of the
- 8:47other girls who are ahead of her in the
- 8:48pyramid. She deserves to be at the top.
- 8:51>> Did you see how everybody was so happy
- 8:52for Mackenzie? [music] And when Kendall
- 8:54does make it, all the kids are going to
- 8:55be happy for her, too. But, Nia has to
- 8:57be at the top, too, and so does Paige.
- 9:02And the best should be at the top. It
- 9:04shouldn't be
- 9:06That's when your claws come out.
- 9:08>> Jill
- 9:14has a tendency to say snide remarks
- 9:16about certain students. [music] Um
- 9:18usually it's Nia, sometimes it's Paige,
- 9:21and I don't care what Jill says. [music]
- 9:23It is very evident to me that she sees
- 9:25Nia as the weak link.
- 9:26>> You weren't even here all last week and
- 9:28you show up and you say
- 9:30I didn't have a job outside of sitting
- 9:32up here. We know you work hard. Good.
- 9:35Thank you. Okay, I've said that a
- 9:37million times. I don't know why you need
- 9:39to We know you said it a million times.
- 9:41You said it a lot of million times. Do
- 9:42you ever shut up? And then all we have
- 9:44to hear about IS I HAVE ANOTHER CHILD. I
- 9:46CAN'T DO THE COSTUMES. I HAVE A
- 9:472-YEAR-OLD. YOU KNOW WHAT? WE
- 9:49KNOW THAT. WE HEAR IT ALL THE TIME. SHUT
- 9:51UP, JILL.
- 9:55I don't know what's going to happen once
- 9:57I put out my offer to these girls. Come
- 9:59on in. Come on in if you're a dancer.
- 10:02You guys are here to audition FOR TEAM
- 10:05APPLE.
- 10:07>> [cheering]
- 10:08>> I DON'T FEEL THAT OUR TEAM is lacking.
- 10:10We are definitely going to make
- 10:12ourselves even stronger yet.
- 10:22She walks in the door and I immediately
- 10:24recognize her. She is one of Abby's
- 10:27dancers.
- 10:35She walks in the door and I immediately
- 10:37recognize her. She is one of Abby's
- 10:39dancers.
- 10:41Will they compete or be able to compete
- 10:43here? We don't know what's going to
- 10:44happen. You don't even know if she's
- 10:45going to ask [music] you to stay.
- 10:46>> After all of Abby's abuse, kicking
- 10:48Payton off the team, and disrespecting
- 10:50me, I want to show Abby that we can find
- 10:52another studio to compete at. And the
- 10:54fact that there's space available at
- 10:56Cathy's Candy Apples, icing on [music]
- 10:58the cake.
- 10:58>> I'm excited. You excited? Yeah. I want
- 11:01to make my mom happy,
- 11:03but I'm not sure how I feel about
- 11:04dancing for the Candy Apples. I know
- 11:06it's up to you, but I really want you to
- 11:08compete cuz you know in your heart you
- 11:09really want to compete. I know. Okay?
- 11:11Okay. All right. Strike your best pose
- 11:14right now. Hit it. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and
- 11:201. She had a great [music] face and a
- 11:22great body and she was just selling
- 11:25herself. I'm definitely [music] going to
- 11:26offer Payton a spot on the team. What a
- 11:29coup if [music] we can get her and she's
- 11:32from Abby Lee. Kind of a win-win
- 11:34situation for me. I get to give Abby the
- 11:36old little stab in the back-a-rooski
- 11:37[music]
- 11:38and I pick up another dancer who's got
- 11:40some fine qualities.
- 11:42Hey Payton. Hi. Awesome job today.
- 11:45>> Thank you. I want to know if you would
- 11:47be interested in being on team Apples.
- 11:51Um
- 11:54I would definitely have to think about
- 11:56it.
- 11:57Are you a spy? No. No. So what you
- 11:59holding back then? I just miss my
- 12:01friends. Uh it's a long drive from where
- 12:04I live. It's mind-boggling to me that
- 12:08here's this kid [music] that's got an
- 12:10opportunity to come over to a dance
- 12:12studio that's nothing but positive
- 12:14>> [music]
- 12:15>> and I walk up and I'm like, you know,
- 12:17what the heck? What are you guys doing?
- 12:19>> Hey! Come on.
- 12:21What are you doing? She's just not 100%
- 12:24ready to just come here and compete.
- 12:26Ugh, Payton. Payton, you shouldn't have
- 12:27wasted my time.
- 12:28>> That's not true. Payton, as a dance
- 12:29educator
- 12:30>> you should not be saying that. You
- 12:31should say it was my privilege to teach
- 12:33your daughter something. That should not
- 12:35be your answer. If you are a positive
- 12:37educator, you should not have taken that
- 12:39route.
- 12:40>> Honestly, honestly, you are way too much
- 12:42like the Pittsburgh dance moms for me.
- 12:43So, I loved you
- 12:46and thank you.
- 12:46>> Cathy. I loved you and thank you. Thank
- 12:48you, Cathy. So Candy Apples isn't the
- 12:50place for us, but my daughter is a star.
- 12:53I'm sure of it. And I won't quit until I
- 12:55find a place for her to dance. You know,
- 12:58if I have to go crawling back to Abby
- 13:00for Payton to dance, then so be it. All
- 13:02right. Let's grab our stuff and go.
- 13:10>> [music]
- 13:13>> All right. Do you see yourself getting
- 13:15sloppy at the end?
- 13:17>> No, Holly.
- 13:18>> cute in that.
- 13:19>> Put that away.
- 13:20Christi and I always are doing stuff
- 13:22with our costumes, but I'm rather
- 13:25nervous for this one, Holly. Yeah, don't
- 13:27tell her cuz she's going to say lie.
- 13:28>> to veto that. Me too. Veto. Honestly, I
- 13:31resent the fact that I have to make
- 13:33Nia's costume. I do not sew. I am not a
- 13:37designer. I did not sign up to make my
- 13:40daughter's costume [music] for dance.
- 13:47And put your arms up, up, up, down,
- 13:50down, down.
- 13:51I think Chloe's solo this week is going
- 13:53to be a little bit more challenging than
- 13:55the other girls simply based on the fact
- 13:57that she is doing ballet and there is a
- 13:59right and there's a wrong. There's no
- 14:01gray area.
- 14:06>> [music]
- 14:11[music]
- 14:13>> My solo this week is called Make Some
- 14:15Noise and it's like a jazzy acrobatic
- 14:19routine and I really like it.
- 14:22>> a chicken.
- 14:23>> [laughter]
- 14:24>> Maybe there's a chicken, a spider. So
- 14:26far we're batting a thousand. Hi. Hello,
- 14:30ladies. All right. Let me see what you
- 14:32have. Okay. That looks like somebody
- 14:34else's costume.
- 14:36Good. Yeah, but that doesn't look like
- 14:37an Abby Lee Dance Company costume. All
- 14:39right. Moving on.
- 14:40>> Chill. I got like sunburst kind of
- 14:42cheery, little bit bright.
- 14:44>> Sweet little lies.
- 14:46>> Sweet. Black That's sweet like an
- 14:49orange.
- 14:50>> No. Black, red, or pink? Even white.
- 14:53Okay. Okay. I'm going to make this a
- 14:55sarong, put a rose here and a rose in
- 14:58her hair. You're going to make it into a
- 14:59sarong? Uh-huh. I Kelly told me how to
- 15:01do it.
- 15:03Okay. My tutu is being dyed powder blue.
- 15:05It's home. Procrastination station. It
- 15:08was wet. Did you want me to bring it in
- 15:10here and ruin your floor?
- 15:11>> Well, why don't you just take a picture
- 15:12of it and SEND IT TO WELL, I CAN. I'll
- 15:13do it when I get home. And here's the
- 15:15bra that I'm dying the same color.
- 15:17>> You're putting your child in a bra?
- 15:18Yeah, and it won't look like a bra when
- 15:20I'm done with it, I promise. Christi
- 15:22doesn't really have anything to show me.
- 15:24She has to get her act together and get
- 15:26it real quick.
- 15:28Two options for Paige. [music] I can do
- 15:30this. That's loud. Well, you told me
- 15:32loud. Right? I know. That's right. And
- 15:35booty shorts and probably have like a
- 15:37something down here.
- 15:38>> to wear shorts, that short. The legs
- 15:40better be straight and the feet better
- 15:41be pointed. Brooke, go to Brooke.
- 15:45That'll work. All right. Listen. Step it
- 15:48up. You do not want to get
- 15:50an hour from New York City
- 15:52where they can get any piece of fabric,
- 15:54any color rhinestone, any applique, any
- 15:57headpiece, you know, like that. This is
- 16:00going to be really rough. I have seven
- 16:02completely different solos to create
- 16:04plus overseeing the mothers of this
- 16:06costume idea. Oh my gosh. Wait.
- 16:09>> Look at this, Paige. Look at how you
- 16:11guys are growling. Isn't that sad? I
- 16:13liked when you was little.
- 16:19Hello. Reign Dance Productions, home of
- 16:21the Abby Lee Dance Company.
- 16:23Hi. Trying to get a hold of Abby Lee
- 16:25Miller. This is Abby speaking. Oh, hi
- 16:28there. This is Rich from Dance
- 16:30Explosions. Oh, hi. How are you? Doing
- 16:33pretty good. How are you? Pretty good.
- 16:35Good. Good. I got a little bit of bad
- 16:36news. I'm sorry to let you know that
- 16:38Dance Explosions has been canceled.
- 16:41Oh my god.
- 16:46Oh, hi there. This is Rich from Dance
- 16:49Explosions. Oh, hi. How are you? I'm
- 16:51doing pretty good. How are you? Pretty
- 16:52good. Good. Good. I got a little bit of
- 16:54bad news. I'm sorry to let you know that
- 16:56Dance Explosions has been canceled.
- 16:59Oh my god.
- 17:04We're leaving in less than 24 hours.
- 17:06What do you mean the competition is
- 17:07canceled?
- 17:09That's just unheard of.
- 17:11Here you want to see us? Yes, I do. We
- 17:14have a bit of an issue.
- 17:15This guy calls and says, [music] "Well,
- 17:17I'm calling to let you from Dance
- 17:19Explosions to let you know that the
- 17:20competition this weekend has been
- 17:22canceled because there's not enough
- 17:23people coming." Hearing that the
- 17:24competition was canceled is awful. I
- 17:27mean, my daughters [music]
- 17:28really want to dance. Mackenzie's
- 17:30finally at the top of the pyramid and
- 17:32I'm really upset about it. So what are
- 17:34our options? We have six solos. The kids
- 17:37have worked hard and they're going to do
- 17:39the routine somewhere. Why don't we call
- 17:41around and see if there's another
- 17:42competition that we could go to?
- 17:47We have seven girls with dances and no
- 17:50place to go [music]
- 17:51and Abby has to find a solution to that
- 17:53situation really fast. Girls,
- 17:57by all means,
- 17:58do not slack off. I don't care if
- 18:00there's one person against you or a
- 18:03thousand people against you. You should
- 18:05go out and do the best performance that
- 18:06you can. Understood? Yes. Yes?
- 18:10Okay. Back to class. Moms, back to work.
- 18:141 2 Tip it. Hey, it's Abby Lee Miller.
- 18:17We have a bit of a crisis. [music] Break
- 18:19through.
- 18:21Yeah, she's she's out. Okay. 5 6 7 8
- 18:27Your call has been forwarded to a number
- 18:29No. No. Right now, I have seven
- 18:30completed solo routines and no
- 18:32competition to go to. So, I need to find
- 18:35somewhere for these kids to go. We are
- 18:37going to find something and we are going
- 18:39to go. Here we go.
- 18:41Now we're talking. Dance Explosion may
- 18:43have let me down, but I'm never going to
- 18:45let those kids down. Ladies, uh we are
- 18:48going to a competition this weekend.
- 18:50There's a competition in Clute, Texas,
- 18:53just outside of Galveston. I want the
- 18:55girls to practice tonight. [music] Good.
- 18:57Good. I'm keeping them here until their
- 18:58dances are finished and perfect.
- 19:01The show must go on. Yeehaw! They say
- 19:04don't mess with [music] Texas, but the
- 19:06Abby Lee Dance Company is on its way.
- 19:08Look out, cowboys. Here we come.
- 19:17Oh, I have a Maddie, too.
- 19:21That's where we're going to be dancing.
- 19:23The energy's up. We're excited. We're
- 19:25walking into the MA Dance competition
- 19:28and lo and behold, it's on a gymnasium
- 19:32floor. Woo! This just threw us off our
- 19:35game. Here we go, guys.
- 19:38Come on. Let's go. Get your stuff set
- 19:40up, Brooke. Get your hair up quickly.
- 19:42Obviously, this is not what I had
- 19:44intended. It's a gymnasium [music]
- 19:45floor, so you can handle it. I'm really
- 19:49nervous to dance on a gymnasium floor
- 19:51because I've never danced on one before
- 19:54and it's wood so I'm scared I might
- 19:56slip. I hope you were guiding your
- 19:58mothers when they made these costumes
- 20:00yes I hope you weren't sleeping. That
- 20:01costume really has to sparkle because
- 20:04there's no stage lights.
- 20:06You know there's no lights hitting that
- 20:08costume to make it sparkle it has to
- 20:09sparkle all on its own. So I'm going to
- 20:11see those before they go out there got
- 20:13it? I hope nobody has to dance naked
- 20:15ladies.
- 20:18>> [music]
- 20:23[music]
- 20:34[applause]
- 20:34>> It's like a dream
- 20:37this moment [singing]
- 20:38in time.
- 20:40Now I see
- 20:43a bigger [music and singing] part of me.
- 20:49Now [singing and music] the world is
- 20:51opened up its door. I'm so much more
- 20:54than [singing] I ever was before.
- 20:59Who [singing] am I?
- 21:00>> [music]
- 21:03>> I see you staring back [singing] at me.
- 21:07I don't have to question why.
- 21:10>> [singing]
- 21:10>> Who am I?
- 21:15>> [cheering]
- 21:16[screaming]
- 21:20[music]
- 21:26>> On the floor now Abby Lee Dance Company.
- 21:29This is Miss Mackenzie.
- 21:43I'm used to dancing on a stage not this
- 21:46slippery gym floor feels different.
- 21:52>> [music]
- 21:59[music]
- 22:12>> Oh my goodness that's beautiful did you
- 22:14make that?
- 22:17Yes that's an old costume you didn't
- 22:18make that.
- 22:19I didn't say that. I made [music] it.
- 22:20But did she wear it at her other studio?
- 22:23No. You just had that hanging in your
- 22:25closet? Well maybe it wasn't mine. Maybe
- 22:26it was someone else's that lent it to
- 22:28me. Hello.
- 22:31Jill let me see her costume. Okay this
- 22:33is the white costume. Okay you did not
- 22:35whip that up last night. OH I NEVER SAID
- 22:37I WHIPPED IT UP LAST NIGHT. You didn't
- 22:39say go home and whip up but I'm not
- 22:41Becky Home Ecki. I don't whip up
- 22:43costumes. Where did that costume come
- 22:45from because it's obviously not pieces
- 22:48of something you pulled together. I just
- 22:49wanted to use pieces that you had at
- 22:51home and come up with something at the
- 22:53last minute. This is what I came up
- 22:54with.
- 22:55Well who's is that may I ask? This is
- 22:57Kendall's costume. You have not seen her
- 22:59in this [music] costume. Somebody
- 23:00somewhere has seen her in it. It's
- 23:02Kendall's costume it's Kendall's costume
- 23:03now it's not one of her old costumes.
- 23:05I'm trying to teach the children a
- 23:06lesson. They don't need a $500 costume
- 23:09to win. You have something at home make
- 23:11it work. It's not about winning it's
- 23:12about what I want to put my daughter in.
- 23:14No it's about what I want to put your
- 23:16daughter in. Go look at what you have
- 23:18figure it out put it on the kid. That
- 23:21looks like a little dress. Brooke went
- 23:23out there in a $30 leotard and danced
- 23:26beautifully. I can't believe you guys
- 23:27wouldn't back me up on this. Because
- 23:29we're following the rules you're not.
- 23:31She's going out there in the gymnasium
- 23:33in her costume that I brought for her.
- 23:35You're looking me in the eye I SEE
- 23:36YOU'VE NEVER WORN THAT COSTUME IN A
- 23:38COMPETITION or stage or show or showcase
- 23:41or performance or school gig or anything
- 23:43else. Yes but you haven't seen her in
- 23:46it. None of you have seen her in it. I
- 23:47don't care IF SOMEBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD
- 23:49DID. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
- 23:50I'm going I'm leaving. You don't want me
- 23:52here I'll just make it easier for you.
- 23:54We want you here we want you to play by
- 23:55the rules. Whatever.
- 23:57WHATEVER I'LL PACK MY BAGS AND
- 23:59[screaming] GO HOME RIGHT NOW. IS THAT
- 24:00WHAT THAT MAKE YOU GUYS ALL REALLY
- 24:02HAPPY? NO THAT WOULD NOT MAKE ME HAPPY.
- 24:05AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING
- 24:06I'M SICK OF THIS.
- 24:07YOU'RE IT'S GOING TO BE YOUR
- 24:09IT'S GOING TO BE YOUR TURN WHO LOSES
- 24:10OUT. GOOD FOR YOU. JILL'S THROWING shoes
- 24:12and she's cursing and all I'm thinking
- 24:14is you are so hard to take seriously
- 24:16wearing that hat.
- 24:17Yeah you know what you're exactly right
- 24:19it's supposed TO BE ABOUT THE KIDS. LET
- 24:21HER WEAR THE
- 24:22DAMN COSTUME.
- 24:28DID SHE ever wear that costume before?
- 24:30Yes but you haven't seen her in it. None
- 24:32of you have seen her in it. I DON'T CARE
- 24:34IF SOMEBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD DID. JILL
- 24:36THE REASON I DID THIS
- 24:37AND GO HOME RIGHT NOW. IS THAT WHAT THAT
- 24:39MAKE YOU GUYS ALL REALLY HAPPY? NO THAT
- 24:42WOULD NOT MAKE ME HAPPY. AND YOU KNOW
- 24:44WHAT YOU'RE DOING I'M SICK OF THIS.
- 24:47IT'S GOING TO BE
- 24:48IT'S GOING TO BE YOUR TURN WHO LOSES
- 24:50OUT. GOOD FOR YOU.
- 24:51YEAH YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE EXACTLY right
- 24:53it's supposed to BE ABOUT THE KIDS. LET
- 24:55HER WEAR THE damn costume.
- 25:00The mom's assignment was grab a few
- 25:02pieces together take some shorts and a
- 25:04crop top trim them up a little bit and
- 25:07make a costume. She had to go above and
- 25:09beyond and try to outdo everyone. Well
- 25:11you know what it backfired on her.
- 25:13Please do this for Kendall she's going
- 25:15to be so brokenhearted. [music]
- 25:17I'm not putting her in a piece costume.
- 25:19I'm not doing it and I'm not going to
- 25:21let them
- 25:23>> [music]
- 25:23>> and Abby win over this. I'm not going to
- 25:25let them. Don't worry about them because
- 25:27they did this to me okay they don't do
- 25:28that to me anymore. I'm [music] really
- 25:30shocked that Jill flipped out at Abby
- 25:32the way she did and I'm sure she's going
- 25:34to regret it.
- 25:35>> [music]
- 25:35>> I just think that she was at her wit's
- 25:37end and she doesn't understand the way
- 25:38our studio runs. Where's Abby girls did
- 25:41you see her?
- 25:43Nia what did she do? Well she's not
- 25:44dancing because I'm not putting her in a
- 25:46piece
- 25:48that Abby wants me to put her in. At
- 25:49this point I'm done. I'm not going to
- 25:51stick around and let them belittle me
- 25:54and belittle my daughter over a stinking
- 25:57costume. I'm packing my stuff up and I'm
- 26:00leaving. They won't have to deal with me
- 26:02anymore.
- 26:03Okay I love you
- 26:04I love you.
- 26:05Okay
- 26:06Maddie go play with her. Kendall okay
- 26:08come here babe. She can dress. Come on.
- 26:11Get your jacket and your boots. Let's
- 26:12go. Maddie help her. Just be okay
- 26:14Kendall.
- 26:16She's with her friends. Nia
- 26:18do you really need to ask why? I think
- 26:20you know why. We will go to Gianna's
- 26:22studio and we will support our friends
- 26:24like our friends support us. Let's go.
- 26:27We come all this way
- 26:28and these witches won't get off my back.
- 26:32Kendall's not dancing.
- 26:34End of story. Not having it. When you're
- 26:36older you will understand that you need
- 26:38to stand up for what you think is right
- 26:41and what they are doing to us right now
- 26:43is not [music] right.
- 26:45I know you want to dance honey. We came
- 26:46all this way for you to dance. I want
- 26:49you to dance too and it's not happening.
- 26:52Let's go.
- 26:59>> [music]
- 27:03>> All right how's everybody doing yes?
- 27:05What's behind you looks like there's
- 27:06blue sticking out on the sides of you.
- 27:09A heating pad? Abby pushes these girls
- 27:12to be as professional as possible.
- 27:14Sometimes when you're an athlete you
- 27:16have to perform even if there's pain and
- 27:18[music] these girls have to learn how to
- 27:20dance through the pain. She's having a
- 27:22lot of back and hip pain. The hip pain
- 27:24maybe because you're working really hard
- 27:25in ballet class. You're using muscles
- 27:27that you never used before.
- 27:29You know you're starting to use the
- 27:30inner thigh instead of grabbing on top.
- 27:32So I'm just trying to keep her not
- 27:33freaking out about it. I told her she
- 27:35can dance she can dance through the
- 27:36pain. You know there's a big difference
- 27:38between being sore and being injured.
- 27:42Injured you should not dance. Sore you
- 27:44have to work through the pain.
- 27:45I knew [music] it was coming. You know
- 27:47as a mom you just have those moments and
- 27:49you know something's going to happen
- 27:52during rehearsal and Nia's running her
- 27:54dance. When you dive walk over that
- 27:55right foot has to stay turned out.
- 27:57She got a couple corrections that got
- 27:59[music] her flustered.
- 28:01She couldn't remember part of her dance
- 28:03and [music] I could just see something's
- 28:06not right. You'll do well it's okay
- 28:08you're going to do fine sweetie. You'll
- 28:10be okay.
- 28:11Stay focused apply your corrections
- 28:13you're going to be fine.
- 28:15We're headed to the gymnasium floor.
- 28:18We get to the door
- 28:20and Nia just has a panic attack. She
- 28:22breaks down.
- 28:24I'm like oh my goodness
- 28:26>> [music]
- 28:26>> this child is not going to perform
- 28:28today. There's no way I'm going to get
- 28:29her on that stage. What am I going to
- 28:32do? Calm down calm down. Nia.
- 28:37Come here. She should be you're awesome
- 28:40she is so worked up and all I could
- 28:43think of was I have to calm her down.
- 28:46Relax.
- 28:48I've never seen you this way.
- 28:49Right now I'm very scared to go on the
- 28:51gymnasium floor because it's slippery
- 28:54and I don't want to fall. Calm yourself
- 28:57down.
- 28:58It'll be okay.
- 29:00I'm going to go to the door so I can
- 29:01hurry up and get in okay? She was so
- 29:03overwhelmed by the prospect of
- 29:06performing she had shut down. She's
- 29:08flipping out.
- 29:10She has like a panic attack.
- 29:12Is she okay? Not really. So no clapping
- 29:15for Nia she's having a panic attack for
- 29:17whatever reason.
- 29:20From Abby Lee Dance Company
- 29:22Nia.
- 29:23>> [cheering and music]
- 29:40>> I'm going to [singing and music]
- 29:41survive.
- 29:43I'm staying alive.
- 29:46I'm going to hold my
- 29:48head up.
- 29:50>> [music]
- 29:52[singing]
- 30:01>> Nia looks good out there. [music] I'm
- 30:03looking at her and I'm speechless. I
- 30:05can't believe she's pulling this off.
- 30:13>> [music]
- 30:13[singing]
- 30:17>> It was really hard to go out and dance,
- 30:19but I'm glad I pushed myself. It was
- 30:20just amazing. I want to dance. I know
- 30:23you want to dance. I want you to dance.
- 30:24Well, am I dancing or not? No.
- 30:27Because they won't let you wear what I
- 30:28brought for you to wear.
- 30:36If Kendall's not dancing, she's not
- 30:38getting up on the floor with her stuff.
- 30:41Is that true? Yeah. I was absolutely
- 30:44appalled that Kendall was sitting in the
- 30:46audience behind me.
- 30:47With her mother while other solos were
- 30:50dancing.
- 30:51She should have been on deck, warming
- 30:54up, ready to [music] go.
- 31:01We're sitting in the stands, [music]
- 31:03supporting the other children. Abby
- 31:05turns to me and she says, "Go put
- 31:07Kendall in the white booty shorts."
- 31:09>> Of course [music] the white shorts and
- 31:10top.
- 31:12And she's allowed to use it? I told her
- 31:14she couldn't.
- 31:14>> Absolutely. Go. Go. So, I make a rash
- 31:17decision to let Kendall wear the white
- 31:20booty shorts and the underwear
- 31:23on stage.
- 31:25Do a front aerial, honey, right here.
- 31:27Please, you need [music] to stay
- 31:28stretched.
- 31:31From Abby Lee Dance, welcome Miss
- 31:33Kendall.
- 31:34>> [applause]
- 31:36[music]
- 31:46[music]
- 31:48[singing]
- 31:52[music]
- 31:54[singing]
- 32:01[music]
- 32:03>> I'm happy that I'm finally dancing and I
- 32:05don't care what the costume [music]
- 32:06looks like.
- 32:18>> [cheering]
- 32:19>> Kendall did a great job in simple white
- 32:21booty shorts and a crop top. Jill is a
- 32:23drama queen. I don't think I can take it
- 32:25anymore.
- 32:27>> [music]
- 32:31>> Please welcome to THE FLOOR, CHLOE.
- 32:35>> [cheering and applause]
- 32:48>> CHLOE LOOKS beautiful and her costume
- 32:50looks professionally made, if I do say
- 32:52so myself.
- 33:13>> [cheering]
- 33:15>> Great job.
- 33:18>> [music]
- 33:21>> From Abby Lee, this is Maddie.
- 33:24>> [cheering]
- 33:25>> Here we go.
- 33:36>> [music]
- 33:49[music]
- 33:55[music]
- 34:00[music]
- 34:07[singing]
- 34:08[music]
- 34:16[music]
- 34:20>> I got to go.
- 34:23From Abby Lee, this is Maddie.
- 34:40When I saw this gentleman carrying my
- 34:42daughter off, my heart sunk to my
- 34:44stomach.
- 34:44>> to go. I got to go. Excuse me.
- 34:46>> [music]
- 34:46>> And I jumped off the bleachers and I ran
- 34:48to her right away. I thought she broke a
- 34:50bone.
- 34:52No, don't say that. Come here.
- 34:55It's okay, honey. It was beautiful. Look
- 34:57at Maddie. I thought if you're supposed
- 34:58to do that. No. I couldn't really move
- 35:01my leg. It hurt so bad. I was nervous
- 35:03[music] that if I couldn't dance ever
- 35:04again. Abby's mad. Maddie was so worried
- 35:07[music]
- 35:08that Abby's going to be mad at her
- 35:09because she did so poorly in her dance,
- 35:11which she didn't. She said, "I danced
- 35:13terrible."
- 35:15I fell on my hip.
- 35:17You fell on your hip?
- 35:18Yes.
- 35:21Where did you fall? Right here. Right
- 35:23here?
- 35:24Oh, baby. I was going to do a dive
- 35:25before walking away and then I went for
- 35:27it and then it didn't work.
- 35:29Okay. It's okay, honey. Hey.
- 35:32It's okay. She said, "Miss Abby's going
- 35:35to be mad at me."
- 35:35>> I'm not going to be mad at you, sweetie.
- 35:37What you started to dive.
- 35:39She was going to dive. It was too
- 35:41slippery, like I know and you started to
- 35:43dive and then in the middle you said you
- 35:44can't get yourself together and walk
- 35:46away, but you did a front toss. Abby
- 35:47came in and she felt so bad for Maddie.
- 35:50Any blood? No, not even a bruise. Okay,
- 35:53good.
- 35:53>> up and walk around in just a minute when
- 35:55you feel it. Good. See, if you had a big
- 35:57butt and you landed on it, it wouldn't
- 35:59hurt. Like me.
- 36:02Dancers fall and dancers get hurt.
- 36:05This may have been Maddie's first fall,
- 36:07but it certainly won't be her last.
- 36:10Sometimes your ego
- 36:13hurts [music] more than your injury.
- 36:15Aw, look at how sweet. Miss Abby's can.
- 36:18Let me get the door. Don't forget her
- 36:19feet.
- 36:24If any other girl fell, they would not
- 36:27be getting the same reaction from Abby.
- 36:29Paige, can you get your hair done,
- 36:30please? My kid, it would have been like,
- 36:32"Oh my god, you embarrassed me. I
- 36:33haven't had a kid do this in 50 years."
- 36:36We should have Brooke from Kingwood
- 36:39Strutters, but at this time, please
- 36:42welcome to the floor, Paige from Abby
- 36:45Lee Dance Company.
- 36:52Are you ready?
- 36:56>> [music]
- 36:57[singing]
- 37:07[music and singing]
- 37:08>> I'm watching Paige do her solo and I'm
- 37:12just amazed.
- 37:14Paige rocked that dance.
- 37:25>> [music]
- 37:27>> Good job.
- 37:29>> [cheering]
- 37:31>> Great job given by Paige from Abby Lee.
- 37:37>> [music]
- 37:42>> All right. Come here, Mackenzie. I can
- 37:45Excuse you.
- 37:46I don't care.
- 37:48>> [screaming]
- 37:48>> Good job, baby. You're a great
- 37:52It's the same
- 37:53thing. That was the best I saw you
- 37:54dance.
- 37:57Hello.
- 37:59Hello.
- 38:01>> [screaming]
- 38:03>> Yay! Good job. Paige, how do you think
- 38:06[music] you did?
- 38:07Good. Good. I thought you were great. I
- 38:09thought your energy was up. I thought
- 38:10you were entertaining. I thought it was
- 38:12good. I thought everybody danced pretty
- 38:13well.
- 38:19And now, our junior solo awards.
- 38:23In third place,
- 38:26from Abby Lee Dance Company, Brooke.
- 38:30>> [cheering]
- 38:34>> In second place, also from Abby Lee
- 38:36Dance Company, Chloe.
- 38:40>> [applause and music]
- 38:41>> Chloe was first runner up and right then
- 38:44I knew that Paige won. And our junior
- 38:47champion from the Abby Lee Dance
- 38:49Company, Paige.
- 38:53>> [cheering]
- 38:55[applause]
- 38:57>> I'm really happy that I won because
- 39:01normally Miss Abby doesn't give me a
- 39:02chance to do a solo because she doesn't
- 39:06think I'll win, but this time I proved
- 39:08her wrong.
- 39:16Mommy [music] is so proud of you. I told
- 39:18you you couldn't have danced any better.
- 39:19So, I'm hoping next week at pyramid
- 39:22there'll be a little change. Paige got a
- 39:24banner. I don't have much practice at
- 39:27this.
- 39:28Just as she Paige, you might be at the
- 39:30TOP OF THE PYRAMID.
- 39:32HEY! [screaming]
- 39:34CONGRATULATIONS.
- 39:38I think you all the girls a hard time.
- 39:41I yell at Brooke and Paige like they're
- 39:43my own kids,
- 39:44>> [laughter]
- 39:44>> but I'm really glad that Paige had a
- 39:46shining moment and came out on top.
- 39:49Girls, you pulled through. Now,
- 39:52everybody here at ALDC knows who Abby
- 39:55Lee Dance Company is. They didn't even
- 39:56know who I was before. Now, because of
- 39:59your talents and your mother's
- 40:01costuming, they all know who I am and
- 40:04they respect me and they were telling me
- 40:06how wonderful you were all behaved, how
- 40:08nice you were and what good kids and
- 40:10what nice moms you had.
- 40:14That every single dancer
- 40:18got a perfect score on their costumes.
- 40:25Yep.
- 40:26Every single one of you.
- 40:32>> [laughter]
- 40:33>> All in all, this was a pretty successful
- 40:35trip.
- 40:36We came, we saw, we kicked some Texas
- 40:39butt. There's just one more piece of
- 40:41business I need to take care of. I am
- 40:44not going to walk out of here letting
- 40:46Jill think her behavior was okay. No
- 40:48way.
- 40:49Jill has a choice to make. Either she
- 40:52stays and plays by the Abby Lee Dance
- 40:54Company rules
- 40:55or she hits the road and finds another
- 40:58studio. Jill, I don't want any more
- 41:01outbursts like today. You have a big
- 41:02decision to make. Don't take it lightly.
- 41:04>> [music]
- 41:04>> Take it very seriously. Will Kendall
- 41:06continue to dance? Will you play on our
- 41:08team?
- 41:10Are you going to do what [music] I say
- 41:11when I say it or
- 41:14not? Well, that's something Kendall and
- 41:16I will discuss.
