- 0:00Hey guys, I just released Jesse version
- 0:023 and it's a big one. Like so much so
- 0:05that if you actually read the change log
- 0:07on our documentation, you're going to
- 0:09get tired of scrolling the page from how
- 0:11many new improvements and new features I
- 0:14just add. So in this video, I'm going to
- 0:16show you the highlights and the cool
- 0:17features that are going to get you guys
- 0:19excited. But if you do want to read the
- 0:21full details of it, then check out the
- 0:23change log page on our documentation. So
- 0:25first things first, you're going to
- 0:26notice that I have redesigned most of
- 0:29the elements on the page. So not only
- 0:31this form here is entirely new, but we
- 0:34also did not have this summary box at
- 0:37all. But the features are basically the
- 0:39same. So let's go through them one by
- 0:40one. So here we picked the exchange as
- 0:43always, but then for the period, this is
- 0:45what we had before. So the starting date
- 0:47and the ending date. But now we have
- 0:49these pre-built dates for you to pick
- 0:51from. So last 3 months, 6 months, etc.
- 0:54And then you can also set it to custom
- 0:56to give it a custom date just like
- 0:58before. But whichever date you give it,
- 1:00now you have to save it so that you can
- 1:04reuse it later. So notice that these
- 1:05ones have a close button, meaning that I
- 1:08can delete them because I have already
- 1:10saved them. So for example, with this
- 1:12one, it is for the first 2 months of
- 1:152023, and even though it's not in the
- 1:17pre-built dates, it is something that
- 1:20supposedly I use a lot. So I have saved
- 1:23it, and if I click on it, it's just
- 1:25going to pick it and that's it. So this
- 1:27is a very helpful feature, and it was
- 1:29one of the most requested features.
- 1:31Another frequently requested feature is
- 1:33the ability to store templates for
- 1:36trading routes. So as you probably
- 1:38already know, we have this concept of
- 1:40trading and data routes in Jesse, which
- 1:42is basically how you specify which
- 1:44symbol, time frame, and a strategy you
- 1:46want to trade. So each one of these
- 1:48records is your trading route, and you
- 1:50can add multiple in order to trade other
- 1:52things. So for example, this one is for
- 1:54BTC, and let's say I want to trade ETH,
- 1:57And maybe it's on the same time frame or
- 1:59a different one, doesn't matter, and the
- 2:01same strategy. And now, let's say I want
- 2:04to add some data routes because I want
- 2:06to add another time frame in my
- 2:08strategy. So, this is using the 1-hour
- 2:11time frame for the trading. And for
- 2:13that, let's say I want to use two routes
- 2:16for 4-hour and ETH and BTC. So, if that
- 2:20is the case, now I have four routes in
- 2:23overall. Now, here's the thing. In this
- 2:24example, I just added four routes. And
- 2:27in most cases, maybe you need one or two
- 2:29routes. So, that's for sure. But, there
- 2:31are cases that you need more. So, for
- 2:33example, in this example template that I
- 2:36already added, as you can see, I have
- 2:38nine trading routes and three data
- 2:41routes. Or in this one, seven and three.
- 2:44In this one, eight and three. So, if I
- 2:46click on apply, it will regenerate all
- 2:49the routes that I had before. So, I
- 2:50don't have to just manually add all of
- 2:53these every time that I want to trade
- 2:55these symbols with this strategy. Or
- 2:57let's say I have multiple strategies.
- 2:59Maybe I'm managing a portfolio of 20 or
- 3:0250 strategies. So, in all those cases,
- 3:05adding them manually was a hideous task,
- 3:07but now you can just simply create a new
- 3:10template and you're good to go. And by
- 3:12the way, the way to do that is by simply
- 3:14clicking on this save button here. But,
- 3:17the reason I didn't have it before is
- 3:19because it was already loaded. So, once
- 3:21I add something new, so let's say I
- 3:23delete this, you see it's not selected
- 3:26here anymore, and we have a save button
- 3:28here. And next, we have a simple
- 3:30redesign of these buttons, but there's
- 3:32also one change, and that is exporting
- 3:34to TradingView is no longer possible
- 3:36because that one was super limited and
- 3:39not accurate. Also, these days we have
- 3:42our own super accurate interactive
- 3:44chart, so there was no reason to keep
- 3:46that one anymore, so I just removed it.
- 3:48Now, speaking of the interactive chart,
- 3:50that's the next thing I want to show you
- 3:51guys. So, for example, this is the
- 3:52result of a trading backtest. Now, these
- 3:55charts aren't exactly new. Maybe the
- 3:57design of the boxes have slightly
- 3:59changed, but that's not important. What
- 4:01I want to show you guys is this. So,
- 4:03this trade chart here, if I click on it,
- 4:05it's going to load a chart which we had
- 4:07before, but it wasn't nearly as smooth
- 4:11and feature-rich as the one that I'm
- 4:13about to show you guys. So, you see we
- 4:15have a full list of the trades, and
- 4:17let's say I just zoom in because this is
- 4:19just too zoomed out for me. Okay, so
- 4:21this is more clear. And let's say I want
- 4:24to see the trade. So, let's sort them,
- 4:26for example, to see the best one first.
- 4:29And if I click here, I can see exactly
- 4:32when this trade was opened and when it
- 4:36was closed. Also, suppose these
- 4:38indicator values are a bit annoying and
- 4:40in my way, I could just toggle off them,
- 4:43so we don't see them anymore. Let's load
- 4:45another one. There we go. So, you see
- 4:47this is very helpful. I can also sort
- 4:49them by the worst one first to see the
- 4:52losing trades. So, this one, for
- 4:54example, it was a very short trade. This
- 4:57one was also a losing one. And if I want
- 4:59to display the indicators again, I can
- 5:02just click on this. We also have the
- 5:04oscillator. So, we had them before, and
- 5:07if I click on them, we can see all of
- 5:09them. So, let's click here. All right,
- 5:11so you see in this case I have loaded
- 5:14four oscillator charts, one called ADX,
- 5:17RSI, MACD, and ATR. And here's the
- 5:20thing. In the past, we were limited. We
- 5:22couldn't load as many as we wanted
- 5:24because if I loaded more than four,
- 5:25let's say five, then this chart would
- 5:27have been super small and not usable at
- 5:30all. But now, you can click here and
- 5:32toggle them, so they won't take as much
- 5:34space as before. Or you can click here
- 5:37to collapse all of them, or again click
- 5:39here to see all of them. Although it
- 5:41doesn't support displaying more than
- 5:42four at the same time because then this
- 5:44page won't be really usable. You can
- 5:47also collapse the trading chart itself,
- 5:50which would open a lot of room for the
- 5:52oscillator chart. So, this is super
- 5:55helpful and also something that we did
- 5:56not have before. And needless to say,
- 5:59the MCP currently supports adding chart
- 6:02series strategies. So, if you wanted to
- 6:04get a support like this to be able to
- 6:06see the exact indicators that your
- 6:07strategy is using on the chart, all you
- 6:10need to do is to tell the J S MCP, "Hey,
- 6:13add charts to this strategy." and it'll
- 6:15take care of it for you. Now, the next
- 6:16thing that I want to show you guys is
- 6:18that we have the same charts for live
- 6:20sessions as well as the backtest now.
- 6:22So, for example, this is a chart demo,
- 6:25and as you can see, as soon as I started
- 6:27it, we can see one value for the chart
- 6:29was added. So, these are the current
- 6:31values for the current indicator, and
- 6:33there we go, we have a second one here.
- 6:34We can also see the ADX chart here. But,
- 6:38the thing is, this will be added in real
- 6:40time. So, as the time goes, we're going
- 6:42to get more values. And because I just
- 6:44started this one, we cannot see, for
- 6:46example, a complete history of it. And
- 6:48this is really intentional and by design
- 6:50because in J S C, we're going to be
- 6:52calculating everything by ourselves
- 6:54using Python. So, it's not like I could
- 6:56just add an option to see the
- 6:59indicators, for example, the EMA on the
- 7:01old previous candles. Because if I do
- 7:03that, then we're going to lose the
- 7:05ability to do it via code. And if you,
- 7:08for example, were to add the EMA both on
- 7:11the code and maybe on the front end,
- 7:13then we're going to have to deal with
- 7:14cases where you you will be getting
- 7:16different values and so much more pain
- 7:18that I just decided, "Okay, so we have
- 7:21to get this in real time." However, this
- 7:23is pretty okay. Like, for now, I I've
- 7:25been just running it for like 3 minutes,
- 7:27but if I keep it running for like a day,
- 7:30then when I load the chart, I'm going to
- 7:31see all the values. In fact, if I show
- 7:33you this one, now, this is not running
- 7:35right now, but if you look at it, you
- 7:38see I have all the values for the EMA
- 7:41and also for the ADX. Now, for this
- 7:43session, for example, it's been running
- 7:45for quite some time now and we can see
- 7:47all the values of the indicators and
- 7:49it's a running session. And we can also
- 7:52take a deeper look at the executed
- 7:54trades. So, if I click on the trade
- 7:56chart, we can see a list of them here
- 7:59and for example, let's say I want to see
- 8:02this one in more detail. So, you see I
- 8:04can also zoom in and if I hover my mouse
- 8:06here, I can see where exactly it opened
- 8:09the trade and where it closed it. If I
- 8:11click here, we can also see that it
- 8:13executed three orders. And by the way,
- 8:15this is a demo strategy, one that is
- 8:18supposed to execute trades very
- 8:20frequently, so it's not supposed to be
- 8:22profitable at all. So, please don't pay
- 8:23attention to these results. But, what I
- 8:26want you to pay attention is that now we
- 8:27have some bigger metrics here. So, for
- 8:30example, the P&L and the balance are
- 8:32displayed in bigger boxes here, which is
- 8:34pretty helpful and beautiful. And we
- 8:36also did some improvements on the
- 8:38tables, for example, for the orders and
- 8:40the trades and the positions. So,
- 8:41overall, this page also saw a lot of
- 8:44improvements. Now, one thing you guys
- 8:45should know is that in the past we were
- 8:47using the after method of just seeing
- 8:50order to call the chart functions in it.
- 8:53But, since this release, we're going to
- 8:54have a new function called simply update
- 8:57chart. Now, this isn't a breaking
- 8:58change. So, if you continue to use the
- 9:01after method, it's going to work.
- 9:02However, you notice that in the examples
- 9:05that I showed you guys, the real-time
- 9:07value of for the indicators for the
- 9:10current candle was changing. And if you
- 9:12want to take advantage of this feature,
- 9:15you need it to be inside the update
- 9:17chart function. Because if you use the
- 9:19after method, that one will only get
- 9:20called when a new candle closes. So,
- 9:23you're not going to see the changes in
- 9:24real time. You will see them once every
- 9:26candle. But, if you use the update chart
- 9:29method here, it will be in real time.
- 9:32And everything else is just as before.
- 9:33So, for example, I am defining three EMA
- 9:36lines here. I'm using the add line to
- 9:39candle chart method and then I'm giving
- 9:41it a name and a color and I'm also
- 9:43passing the value. And when I do this, I
- 9:46am getting this blue line here. And in
- 9:48order to get an oscillator such as the
- 9:51ADX, I am using the add extra line chart
- 9:55built-in method of Jesse just as before.
- 9:58So, the usage is super simple. The next
- 10:00that we did is that we added support for
- 10:03three new exchanges and I'm pretty
- 10:05excited about this. So, the first one is
- 10:08Kraken Pro, which if you're looking for
- 10:10a regulated exchange, this is probably
- 10:12your best choice. They are one of the
- 10:14oldest crypto exchanges out there.
- 10:17They're super regulated and the trading
- 10:19fees for their futures service actually
- 10:22is pretty standard and not too harsh
- 10:25such as the ones that Coinbase is
- 10:27offering. We also added support for
- 10:28their spot market, so you can get
- 10:31started with them right now. Next, we
- 10:33added support for the KuCoin exchange
- 10:35both futures and spot market. These are
- 10:38also one of the oldest crypto exchanges
- 10:39out there. They're not as famous for
- 10:41being a regulated crypto exchange and
- 10:44that's the thing with regulation. Some
- 10:45people want a super regulated exchange
- 10:48because it makes them feel safer, but
- 10:50some people, like myself, try to avoid
- 10:52them because in the past we've had bad
- 10:54experiences with them such as asking for
- 10:56like a billion documents, especially
- 10:58when you are about to make a deposit or
- 11:01a withdrawal and when you're in a hurry
- 11:03or something. So, in order to avoid that
- 11:05kind of experience, a crypto exchange
- 11:07that is pretty popular out there and
- 11:10relatively safe is good enough for me.
- 11:12And KuCoin is one of the best ones out
- 11:14there that we weren't already supporting
- 11:16them. Now, if you don't already have an
- 11:18account on KuCoin, I am including my own
- 11:20affiliate link in the description of the
- 11:22video, which if you use, you will get
- 11:2415% trading fee discounts and it will
- 11:27also help out the project. So, thank you
- 11:29for considering that. Next, we have a
- 11:30relatively new exchange. It is called
- 11:33Lyra, and it is basically a rival these
- 11:36days to HyperLiquid. That means it is a
- 11:39decentralized perpetual platform. But,
- 11:42what I specifically like about them is
- 11:44that their main focus is not crypto.
- 11:46They also offer stocks and commodities,
- 11:48which is something many exchanges added
- 11:50later on, but they are not treating them
- 11:52as second-class citizens. And one really
- 11:55huge thing with them is that the trading
- 11:57fees are zero by default, similar to to
- 12:00how it is on Robinhood. But, of course,
- 12:02because this one is decentralized, it is
- 12:04significantly more trustworthy than a
- 12:06platform like that. They do offer
- 12:08premium accounts as well, which will get
- 12:10you increased API limits and also better
- 12:13latency. But, for that, you're going to
- 12:15have to pay some trading fees, which is
- 12:17still below the standard that you're
- 12:19going to pay on other exchanges. So, no
- 12:21matter which route you want to go with,
- 12:23this is definitely an exchange that you
- 12:24don't want to miss. And in fact, I
- 12:26personally try to avoid HyperLiquid as
- 12:29much as possible. I've had really bad
- 12:30experiences with them. I do still like
- 12:32the Apex exchange, and I've had really
- 12:34good experience with them, but the
- 12:36problem that I have is that the
- 12:37liquidity just isn't that great on it.
- 12:40But, Lyra for me is an option right in
- 12:42the middle, meaning that it has
- 12:44relatively good liquidity, and the
- 12:46trading fees are just crazy. Now, if you
- 12:48want to give them a try, use the URL in
- 12:50the description. It will give you one
- 12:52free week of premium accounts for free,
- 12:55and again, it will help out the project.
- 12:57So, thank you for considering that.
- 12:58Anyways, guys, thanks for watching the
- 12:59video. Please don't forget to like and
- 13:01subscribe to the channel, and also don't
- 13:02forget to subscribe to our Telegram,
- 13:04because that is where not only I post
- 13:07announcements, I also post some sneak
- 13:09peek of the new features that I'm
- 13:11working on at any moment. So, if that's
- 13:13something you're interested, definitely
- 13:14make sure to follow me there. Anyways,
- 13:16thanks for watching. I'll see you in the
- 13:17next one.
