Jesse v1.3.0: Save hours with benchmarking backtests! — Transcript

1. 0:00hey guys it's Sol today I release
2. 0:02version 1.3 of Jesse and it's a big one
3. 0:05as always we had a bunch of bug fixes
4. 0:07and improvements that you can read about
5. 0:08in the blog post that I published but in
6. 0:11this video I want to show you the
7. 0:12highlight of this release that hopefully
8. 0:14will save you hours of doing research as
9. 0:16it did for me so let's get right into it
10. 0:18so here's a strategy that I developed
11. 0:20just a few days ago and let's say I want
12. 0:22to run back test for them so the first
13. 0:24one is using the 15 minutes time frame
14. 0:26let's run it while this is going I want
15. 0:28to also not that performance of it on
16. 0:30another time frame because at this point
17. 0:32let's say I've just started developing
18. 0:34it and I'm not even sure which time
19. 0:36frame or symbol is going to perform best
20. 0:38right so I have no choice but to also
21. 0:40try it on other time frames so instead
22. 0:41of 15 minutes I can also pick 30 minutes
23. 0:45and then another one for let's say 1
24. 0:48hour and another one for 4
25. 0:53hours and another one
26. 0:55for 6 hours but here's the thing now I
27. 0:59have five tabs open just backing BTC USD
28. 1:02but on five different time frames so
29. 1:05what if I also wanted to try it on other
30. 1:07symbols such as e now in that case we
31. 1:10would have 10 open tabs right if I
32. 1:12wanted to do it on three symbols then we
33. 1:14would have 15 so very quickly the number
34. 1:16of open tabs that I have just for this
35. 1:18one single strategy it grows so every
36. 1:20single change in my strategy would need
37. 1:22me to click on the Reon button on 10 or
38. 1:2515 different open tabs every single time
39. 1:27which very quickly becomes exhausting
40. 1:29and and energy training and not only
41. 1:31that to actually check out the results I
42. 1:33would have to come here and read this
43. 1:35performance table right and compare them
44. 1:37like this but what if there was a better
45. 1:39way what if we could very quickly rerun
46. 1:42everything or very quickly look at the
47. 1:44bigger picture of the performance of
48. 1:45this strategy among all different
49. 1:47symbols and time frames well that's the
50. 1:49feature that I implemented it's called
51. 1:51Benchmark and you can find it here now
52. 1:54you can see that I have the back testing
53. 1:55result of all the other open tabs and
54. 1:58very quickly I can read the name of the
55. 2:00strategy which in this case is obviously
56. 2:02the same you can see the starting and
57. 2:04finishing date The Exchange the symbol
58. 2:06which in my case is BTC for all of them
59. 2:08the time frame the 15 minutes 30 minutes
60. 2:111 Hour 4 hours and 6 hours the total
61. 2:13trades net profit profit percentage Max
62. 2:16draw down and everything so right now
63. 2:18you can see how much better this is for
64. 2:20checking out the overall performance of
65. 2:22your strategy but now let's say that
66. 2:24some of these metrics are a bit annoying
67. 2:26and I don't want to see them so for
68. 2:28example I already know that the ass and
69. 2:30finishing date of all these back tests
70. 2:32are the same so what if I don't want to
71. 2:33see that so that the table would be a
72. 2:35bit simpler to look at I can just come
73. 2:38here and filter out the starting date
74. 2:41and the finishing date and also maybe
75. 2:43the strategies name and the exchange and
76. 2:47the symbol because again it's the same
77. 2:48for all of them I also don't really care
78. 2:50about the net profit because I already
79. 2:52have the net profit percentage and the
80. 2:55other stuff are fine so now I can very
81. 2:58quickly check out the result of of this
82. 3:00strategy only with the metrics that I
83. 3:02care about and I can compare each and
84. 3:04every one of them now what if I had way
85. 3:06more tabs here and I wanted to sort them
86. 3:09by the best metrics now the best for you
87. 3:12might be different than what it is for
88. 3:14me so one might care about the pnl
89. 3:16another one might care about the calmer
90. 3:18ratio so by default it's not sorting
91. 3:20anything so the order of these is the
92. 3:22same order that you have for these tabs
93. 3:24here but I can sort them based on some
94. 3:27kind of metric so for example by net
95. 3:28profit or something like that so when I
96. 3:31make a change to my strategy before I
97. 3:33had to come back and click on the reun
98. 3:35button every single time right but now I
99. 3:37can just open the Benchmark page and
100. 3:39click on this button to rerun every
101. 3:42single tab that is open all right and
102. 3:44sometimes some of the T tabs will fail
103. 3:46because of some kind of error and if
104. 3:48that's the case you can just click on
105. 3:49this one to only rerun those tabs we
106. 3:52also have a button for cancelling all of
107. 3:54them so let's say you just clicked on
108. 3:55rerun all but you just change your mind
109. 3:58and you wanted to cancel it and then
110. 3:59change line your strategy and come back
111. 4:01again you can do that as well and if you
112. 4:03want to let's say duplicate one of the
113. 4:05results for example I like this one so I
114. 4:08want to just duplicate it but I want to
115. 4:11change one single thing so I can click
116. 4:13on this one to quickly go to that page
117. 4:15change something so let's say it's the
118. 4:17symbol the time frame or the duration or
119. 4:20whatever I can just click on start again
120. 4:22and come back to the benchmarking page
121. 4:24and I can see the results of it here now
122. 4:27let's not sort it because I want this
123. 4:30one to come here so just one more time
124. 4:32when you click on the duplicate button
125. 4:34it will be opened right next to the
126. 4:36previous one that you had which is
127. 4:37pretty useful all right we also have the
128. 4:39rerun button individually for each one
129. 4:41of them we also have the delete button
130. 4:43so let's say I don't need this one
131. 4:44anymore I can just delete it pretty
132. 4:46quickly next I want to give you a very
133. 4:48quick preview of what I'm building for
134. 4:50the coming weeks and it's going to be
135. 4:52our very own AI is called Jessi GPT
136. 4:55which will use the open AI models but
137. 4:57with the knowledge of our documentation
138. 4:59and straty examples and it's going to
139. 5:01help you to write your strategies to
140. 5:03debug them and things like that we
141. 5:05already had this on the gpts store but
142. 5:07that version was way limited and the new
143. 5:08one will hopefully be much more smarter
144. 5:10and we will have the ability to update
145. 5:12it as the time goes and as you guys use
146. 5:14it and give me feedback so it's going to
147. 5:16be really awesome and I'm going to need
148. 5:18some early testers so if you're
