- 0:08our society has continued to advance
- 0:12since the constitution was created we've
- 0:14advanced in
- 0:15technology and infrastructure but the
- 0:18one thing that we haven't advanced in
- 0:20was our criminal justice system that's
- 0:23why these cases are so important
- 0:32having gone through it and i
- 0:35not only spent 10 years in prison but
- 0:38my mother my aunts they were in prison
- 0:40as well watching me
- 0:41serve this time to look at them and to
- 0:44see what it did to them
- 0:45and now to be able to prevent this from
- 0:48other families
- 0:50i'm destined to do it
- 1:01wavelength presented the image of a
- 1:03quiet little
- 1:04quaint town it took me a short period of
- 1:07time
- 1:08to realize the mayor chose me
- 1:11as the chief because the black
- 1:14population of wavery
- 1:17was revolting at what was happening to
- 1:20their town
- 1:21i needed new officers alan was one who
- 1:24applied
- 1:32officer gibson was in a wooded area
- 1:34behind this apartment complex when the
- 1:35fight with his two suspected killers
- 1:37started
- 1:38somehow his gun got away from him he was
- 1:40shot in the abdomen
- 1:41i mean it's been 20 years i always try
- 1:45not to think about this

- 1:48what happened that day
- 2:00there is no fingerprints on the gun
- 2:02there is no dna
- 2:04there is no blood there are no drugs
- 2:06there are no proceeds from drugs
- 2:08there is nothing to this case besides
- 2:11testimony
- 2:12of people who had incentive to
- 2:21it's lie rather serious charges you
- 2:24understand
- 2:25that's right then uh i realized
- 2:29there could be something wrong here

- 2:54too much time is going back so people
- 2:56don't understand
- 2:58having to visit your loved one on a
- 3:00christmas a thanksgiving
- 3:02every year birthday is so
- 3:06hard when you grew up literally together
- 3:17advantages
- 3:19to to me representing someone in a case
- 3:22like this
- 3:22is i've been through it before so i'm
- 3:24able to relate to the family in a way
- 3:26that
- 3:27i don't know of any lawyers that can
- 3:39you
