- 0:00None of my characters would give any
- 0:02good breakup advice. They're all so full
- 0:04of pain.
- 0:09Hello, I'm Jamie Campbell Bower and we
- 0:11are behind the scenes in my Rolling
- 0:13Stone UK publish.
- 0:16>> Which of your characters would be most
- 0:18helpful in a zombie apocalypse? I think
- 0:20[music] that the most helpful character
- 0:23that I have played who would be useful
- 0:26[music] in a zombie apocalypse would be
- 0:28VCnner purely because he's just huge and
- 0:31it's part zombie already. So maybe he'd
- 0:33like fit in. How would I fair in a
- 0:35zombie apocalypse? I'd like to think I
- 0:36would fair quite [music] well in the
- 0:37zombie apocalypse. I'm quite a fan of
- 0:39like disaster movies. So I've always
- 0:42thought about like where I would go and
- 0:44what I [music] would do. And I have some
- 0:46friends who have some like houses in
- 0:49[music] the deep countryside and I think
- 0:51I'd probably go there. If they'd let me
- 0:53in or not is up to [music] them, but
- 0:55yeah, I think I'd like to fare. Okay.
- 0:57>> Which of your characters would you start
- 0:59a band with? [music]
- 1:00>> I would start a band with Christopher
- 1:03Marlo, who was a character that I played
- 1:05in a television [music] series called
- 1:06Will, which was written by Craig Pierce.
- 1:10And Craig has worked a lot with Baz
- 1:12Lurman. [music] And I Marlo was always
- 1:15like very rock and roll in like our
- 1:16depiction of him. Anyway, so I feel like
- 1:18Christopher Marlo [music] would be the
- 1:20perfect choice to start. The genre would
- 1:23be um Barack [music] Chamber music and I
- 1:27would play the Heartsord.
- 1:29>> Which of your characters would have the
- 1:31best music playlist?
- 1:33>> The [music] character that would have
- 1:34the best music playlist would be VNA for
- 1:36sure. purely because music was such a
- 1:40huge part [music] of creating that
- 1:42character for me. And I've used music
- 1:44before for characters, but certainly not
- 1:47as [music] much as I used it for Vecna.
- 1:48And it became a real grounding point
- 1:51both in the preparation, you know,
- 1:54offstage and also [music] on stage
- 1:56getting ready and prior to takes as
- 1:57well. So Vecner has the darkest baddest
- 2:00players for sure. or [music] Skiff, who
- 2:03was a character I played in Thomas and
- 2:06Friends, which is Thomas [music] the
- 2:08Tank Engine. What music I listen to to
- 2:10play Beckner? I use a lot of like
- 2:12heavier music. I mean, I used to play
- 2:14[music] heavier music and so it's always
- 2:17kind of been in my blood, but I [music]
- 2:19went to artists like Sun O and Frail,
- 2:23who you're listening to earlier, artists
- 2:25in that similar vein. Um, artists like
- 2:27Darker, Chelsea Wolf, [music]
- 2:29Norma Jean, sort of the heavier and more
- 2:34earthy the better was what I was leaning
- 2:37into for that. Pump it up by Joe Budden
- 2:40[music] is on there for VCMA's Playlist
- 2:42List. No. Um, translational um, Anna by
- 2:46Normma Jean. Anything by Sono, as I
- 2:48already [music] mentioned,
- 2:50uh, maybe something from Nick Cave's
- 2:53Murder Ballads at some point. I don't
- 2:55know. Anything [music]
- 2:56from the last two architects albums
- 2:59would be on there. Um, but Normagene was
- 3:02the one that I [music] would always use
- 3:04and Anna was a particular song that I
- 3:06would always use before I would walk on
- 3:07set. And I feel like I'm now telling how
- 3:10the sausage is made. That is what I
- 3:12would use. It's funny the strangest
- 3:14thing on my playlist um
- 3:17probably [music]
- 3:18in the USA by Miley [laughter] Cyrus. It
- 3:21was a song that like or the climb. I
- 3:23love the song The Climb by Miley Cyrus.
- 3:26It was a song that I came to whilst I
- 3:28was working on [music]
- 3:29um it came out at the same time I was
- 3:31working on Twilight, the second one. Um
- 3:35[music] and it's just a really emotional
- 3:37song. So, I I love that song. It's a
- 3:40beautiful song.
- 3:41>> Which character would be the best
- 3:43shopping companion?
- 3:44>> The best shopping companion? I it it's a
- 3:47tossup between [music] two. It's a toss
- 3:49up between Ka's from Twilight purely
- 3:52because [music] of capes and suits. Um,
- 3:55who doesn't love a cape? But also Marlo.
- 3:57Marlo when we [music] played him and
- 4:00like the costumes that were made for him
- 4:01were so extra and sparkly and beautiful.
- 4:06Stolen. [music] My personal style is
- 4:08just stolen goods.
- 4:10>> Which character would be the most useful
- 4:12in a heist? The most [music] useful
- 4:14character in a heist would either be
- 4:17Anthony Hope because he was so innocent
- 4:20from Sweeney Todd. He's so young. I feel
- 4:22like he'd be like, "No, it wasn't me."
- 4:23Or Skiff again from Thomas and Friends
- 4:25cuz he's a boat [music] and why would a
- 4:28boat commit a crime?
- 4:30>> Which character would be the best
- 4:32karaoke partner? Perfect karaoke [music]
- 4:35part
- 4:37of characters that I have played would
- 4:40be Vetner because [music] he sounds like
- 4:44Tom Weights and I would get Becknner to
- 4:46sing a Tom Weight song and maybe do a
- 4:48duet with me, you know, [music] kind of
- 4:51sort of Tom Joneses, Tom Jones Catatonia
- 4:54style duet. Um, and my karaoke song is
- 4:57Anything by Frank Sinatra, but I haven't
- 4:59gone to karaoke [music] for years. You
- 5:01reminded me I should go and sing some
- 5:02karaoke. I'm 37.
- 5:07I like tea.
- 5:08>> Which character would you like to swap
- 5:10places with for the day?
- 5:11>> I played MC Jagger in [laughter] in a
- 5:15sky thing called Urban Myths. It was a
- 5:18long time ago. Uh I would just like to
- 5:20be [music] MC Jagger for a day. That
- 5:22would be great.
- 5:22>> Which character would you want on your
- 5:25football team?
- 5:26>> I wouldn't want any character that I
- 5:27played to be on a football team. [music]
- 5:29Apart from actually, do you know what
- 5:31that's a lie? I was fortunate enough to
- 5:34play Joe the football coach in Bend It
- 5:37Like Beckham on stage, which is at the
- 5:39Phoenix Theater, which is where the
- 5:40Stranger Things [music] show is on.
- 5:42Granted though, I can't play football
- 5:44for Just letting everyone [music]
- 5:46know that.
- 5:47>> Which character would give the best
- 5:49breakup advice?
- 5:50>> None of my characters would give any
- 5:52good breakup advice. They're all so full
- 5:54of pain.
