1. 0:00I am into a supplication of the Prophet
2. 0:01, peace be upon him.
3. 0:02Peace be upon him.
4. 0:03I spent five years of my life unable to
5. 0:05memorize it, every time I read it, due
6. 0:07to its majesty.
7. 0:08Um.
8. 0:09By God Almighty, it is a
9. 0:11heart-wrenching supplication,
10. 0:13heart-wrenching. This supplication is
11. 0:16enough to mend your heart if you sit
12. 0:19and contemplate it and reflect upon it.
13. 0:22By God, you will find your heart's
14. 0:25state changed when you say...
15. 0:27Ah, I can't, I'm afraid of it, I'm
16. 0:30afraid of it.
17. 0:32I just memorized it, maybe two months
18. 0:36ago.
19. 0:37Glory be to God.
20. 0:38Or three months, and I memorized it. I
21. 0:40found no place more fitting for the
22. 0:42majesty of this supplication than the
23. 0:44Sacred Mosque, like the majesty of the
24. 0:46House of God. So I brought it out and
25. 0:49prayed to God Almighty with this
26. 0:51supplication, where the Prophet, peace
27. 0:53be upon him, would say:
28. 0:55O Allah, You are the most worthy to be
29. 0:56remembered.
30. 0:57And the most worthy to be worshipped,
31. 0:59and the most generous to be sought. And
32. 1:01the most compassionate of kings, and
33. 1:02the most bountiful of those asked. And
34. 1:04the most expansive in giving. You are
35. 1:06the King, there is no partner for You.
36. 1:08And the Unique, there is no equal to
37. 1:09You. Everything will perish except Your
38. 1:12Face. Everything will perish except
39. 1:15Your Face. You are not obeyed except by
40. 1:17Your permission, and You are not
41. 1:18disobeyed except by Your knowledge. The
42. 1:21closest witness and the nearest
43. 1:22guardian. The closest witness and the
44. 1:25nearest guardian. Hearts are open to
45. 1:28You, and secrets are plain to You. The
46. 1:31lawful is what You have permitted, and
47. 1:33the forbidden is what You have
48. 1:34prohibited. The religion is what You
49. 1:36have legislated, and the command is
50. 1:38what You have decreed. The creation is
51. 1:39Your creation, and the servant is Your
52. 1:41servant. And You are Allah, the
53. 1:42Compassionate, the Merciful. And You
54. 1:44are Allah, the Compassionate, the
55. 1:45Merciful. I ask You by every right that
56. 1:48is Yours, and by the right of those who
57. 1:51ask You, to accept me this morning, and
58. 1:53to protect me from the Fire by Your
59. 1:56power. A supplication that melts the
60. 2:00hardness of the heart, breaks down what
61. 2:03is in the heart of desires and
62. 2:05attachment to the world. Have you seen
63. 2:07the praise of the Prophet, peace be
64. 2:08upon him, for the Lord of the worlds?
65. 2:09If God is the most generous to be
66. 2:11sought, the most compassionate of kings
67. 2:13, the most bountiful of those asked,
68. 2:15and the most expansive in giving, can
69. 2:17you call upon anyone else, when He is
70. 2:19the most expansive in giving, the most
71. 2:21bountiful of those asked, and the most
72. 2:23generous to be sought? And God is the
73. 2:24One whose help is sought. God is the
74. 2:26One whose help is sought.
