1. 0:00ladies here we are in los angeles  california the city of dreams
2. 0:07hi everybody and i have kids that  are working too doing one one show
3. 0:12tell me about broadway shows broadway show  failure she wanted an outside choreographer
4. 0:17don't cry i'm not it's all your fault  to begin with right in the middle of a
5. 0:22rehearsal i get a phone call from my mom  i am here and my mother is in a hospital
6. 0:28coming up on dance moms we're at nationals in  tahoe we need to win chloe tells me that she
7. 0:35doesn't want to dance anymore i have a whole  list of people that want to take her spot
8. 0:40i really don't appreciate my ex-husband  checking up on me i'm taking the crown and
9. 0:44shove it up your ass i really need to get these  ladies in control before we step foot on a stage
10. 0:54your top junior group
11. 1:17i can't wait to see what the studio looks like  hello ladies come on in this is nationals it's
12. 1:24all come down to this week this is our last  competition of the season there's no more
13. 1:28next weeks there's no more do-overs there's no  more second chances this is it we have to win
14. 1:34right here right now here we are in another studio  another week we need to learn a new group routine
15. 1:41this is tough we have to do it today and there's  props now i want to reflect a little bit on the
16. 1:48past two weeks i keep telling you guys you have  been given an amazing opportunity you've been
17. 1:55hand-selected to go across the country and learn  a new number each week and do these competitions
18. 2:02and you are not stepping up to the plate it's  been a long road the girls are tired we're all
19. 2:07tired but this is when they really need to push  focus dig down deep inside themselves and prove
20. 2:15that they are the champions that i have trained  i want to see energy enthusiasm fun if you don't
21. 2:20want to do it there's probably a hundred other  kids that would love to be in your shoes right now
22. 2:27so i need to see motivation i want you to want to  win this is my reputation on the line it's my name
23. 2:36but by now it's also your names so i'm gonna  start now with paige moving on mackenzie
24. 2:47nia next we have chloe brooke and back on  top we have maddie you're doing your solo
25. 2:59and a duet with chloe chloe you will also be doing  your solo paige and brooke i'm giving you a duet
26. 3:08i want you to work together as friends i do not  want you fighting as sisters if you waste time and
27. 3:14energy bickering back and forth you're never gonna  get it finished everybody is in the group number
28. 3:19this week even mackenzie i'm a little scared to  dance in the group number i don't want to mess up
29. 3:26every single one of you are an important  part of this puzzle and in a group routine
30. 3:31everybody needs to pull their weight  and i'm telling you what we need to win
31. 3:38all right let's get to rehearsing let's get moving  okay ladies the piece is called beautiful and
32. 3:50what it's about is not how pretty you're gonna  be in your costumes not how pretty your hair is
33. 3:56but what's on the inside and it's about taking  a good look in the mirror not at what you see
34. 4:03but like the internal mirror are you getting  any of this mackenzie yeah it's a little deep
35. 4:08for nationals we're only doing one group  number it's called this is my beauty
36. 4:12hold the mirror and cover your face the girls  use handheld mirrors as props for the routine
37. 4:18we're trying to get the message across to the  judges that we believe that we're beautiful
38. 4:24dancing is beautiful everybody's beautiful  you're gonna roll stage left go roll left
39. 4:32take your right mirror out one two three four  oh it's so nice out it's beautiful i feel bad
40. 4:38actually coming out here and the girls are left  inside i know those poor kids it's really pretty
41. 4:43here it is so everybody sucks and that was the  message you all sucked in the last two weeks
42. 4:49but i want to see enthusiasm i thought they did  great well girls i have news for you pregnant
43. 4:58oh my god i'm going on vacation without  the girls what about them yes so i'm
44. 5:03leaving them here with gia yeah this is mr diaz  competition i'm so excited where are you going
45. 5:09florida i'm so excited i just need to get away  who are you going with my honey i can't believe
46. 5:14melissa's leaving again last week she left to go  spend time with her boyfriend and this week she's
47. 5:18leaving to go on vacation with him her priorities  have definitely changed since the boyfriend came
48. 5:22into the picture ladies and gentlemen i  need you to come in and watch rehearsal
49. 5:25i need you to be in there the whole time i  know it's hot but i need you to be in there
50. 5:32chloe let's do it chloe's new solo another season  is about rebirth and renewing and moving on to a
51. 5:43new story and it's great because this is the end  of the season it was the perfect choice reach
52. 5:51stones ball reach downs again for nationals i am  doing a dance called seasons it's a contemporary
53. 5:57lyrical piece and i really like it and i hope  i win title with it so no it's not a sea stone
54. 6:02okay take off of one foot at rehearsal i noticed  chloe's sort of not her regular self i can see
55. 6:09written all over her face that something's wrong  she just didn't have that same chloe passion that
56. 6:15she normally does i know you're tired i know  this has been really long and hard on you i do
57. 6:22sometimes i just don't want to dance i mean i love  dance i just i'm tired and i need a break you want
58. 6:28me to hear lay down here i talked to her and she  tells me that she doesn't want to dance anymore
59. 6:36that's very hard for me to hear because  i think chloe is extremely talented and i
60. 6:41would hate to see her give up on something  that she has such an amazing talent for
61. 6:45but on the other hand as a mother where do i draw  the line you know when is enough enough for her
62. 6:55all done second thing you're early babe
63. 7:08hey moms come on in here i want to talk to you  so i gather all the moms together and i have
64. 7:14them sit around very casually in a circle in a  non-combative environment and i just want to kind
65. 7:20of give them a recap of what their children have  done and where we need to go let's start with nia
66. 7:26work on your feet how many times have we gone  over this it's it is talking to that brick wall
67. 7:35she has to try harder abby's word choices are poor  at best i think when she refers to me as a brick
68. 7:41wall that's incredibly demoralizing and is not  productive because as a teacher it's frustrating
69. 7:48when another teacher will say to a kid try harder  that means nothing to the kids there's repeating
70. 7:52the same mistake over and over again i started off  with holly and holly is an educator herself and
71. 7:58she always compares us but it's not really apple  to apple it's like apple to orange and i believe
72. 8:07sometimes she wants special treatment for nia  like but you have to teach her this way and you
73. 8:13have to teach her that way i'm abby lee miller i  don't have to do anything all right let's move on
74. 8:19to chloe she needs to work on her confidence she's  still second guesses herself that's how chloe is i
75. 8:25mean that's something we need to work on chloe  is a beautiful dancer she looks great and when
76. 8:31you see her in class you pick her up your eyes  go to her but when it gets down to the end of an
77. 8:37audition and there's like three or four girls left  she chokes she starts to second-guess herself and
78. 8:42that's definitely coming from her mother brooke  i am disappointed in the group routines with the
79. 8:50ability to comprehend you saw it yesterday if i  was their mother i would have crawled into a home
80. 8:55she's 13 years old and was not picking up  quickly they're slow they don't pick up quick
81. 9:03walk through it step by step with them  we're not trying to be maddie and chloe
82. 9:07neither one of my kids why do you want your kids  to be mediocre because that's the way my kids
83. 9:12are and i'm i love i just like they are abby i  disagree if they're not number one we don't care
84. 9:18they're my kids i love them i just don't  get kelly it's you know what smack their
85. 9:23heads together wake them up tell them to get  on the ball quit playing around invest in this
86. 9:28like it's their future this is real life you have  talented beautiful children make them own it quit
87. 9:36saying they can be mediocre you don't mean that  who wants a mediocre kid i want more i want more i
88. 9:42want more i want more 12 hours a day at dance and  eight hours a day at school i mean my god they're
89. 9:53you want them to be the best yeah  but your kid just won another title
90. 9:57ab would you like her crown back because you  could have it we'll have to talk about because she
91. 10:07thank you
92. 10:20what's that arm doing me on the pancake mia i  don't want to start the day out screaming dude
93. 10:25think about what you're doing do it right  we're in lake tahoe at starbound nationals
94. 10:31this is when the girls decide do  they go home national champions
95. 10:35or do they go home with their tails between  their legs you better turn that left foot out
96. 10:48no one's holding the mirror in front of their  face we're at nationals this week and it's a
97. 10:54lot of pressure like a lot of pressure that leg  has to go up in the air chloe aren't your back
98. 11:04chloe i don't know what's going on with chloe  she hasn't been rehearsing or performing with
99. 11:10any enthusiasm or energy she needs to pull it  together there's no more time for this woe is me
100. 11:22better this week i'm having  chloe and maddie dance black swan
101. 11:28they are battling against each other for  the prince and there's a big fight on stage
102. 11:37we need a winning number and this  is it come uncle figure it out
103. 11:44i'm doing a duet with maddie and  we're both swans and i'm the black one
104. 11:49usually i'm the goody two-shoes i guess so i'm  excited to be a little on the bad side this week
105. 12:05let's go come on guys everybody brought a towel  i'm taking the girls to the lake to get away from
106. 12:11the moms and believe me they need it is everyone  in the seat belt yes yep okay i need to talk to
107. 12:19you for a second before you guys go what's wrong  when chloe was rehearsing this week she told me
108. 12:25that she wants to quit dance she doesn't want  to no she doesn't want to dance anymore well i
109. 12:30have a whole group of kids and we're going to do  something now so i realized but i wanted to make
110. 12:35sure that you are aware of what's going on with  her well that's fine when we come back tonight
111. 12:39if she wants to quit i have a whole list of people  that want to take her spot we're at a competition
112. 12:45and you're going to come to me and tell me  this about your kid what do you want me to
113. 12:48throw in a plane and send her home and bring in a  replacement i can do that everyone's replaceable
114. 12:56all right look at the mountains
115. 13:10girls i brought you here because i'm so tired  of you just being in a hotel ballroom in the
116. 13:15competition you need to see the world i  want them to learn about where they're
117. 13:19traveling and i took that opportunity to do some  strengthening and lengthening the back of the leg
118. 13:26that's not something that you can do  on a bus or when you rent a studio to
119. 13:30rehearse a number it takes time and  that was the ideal setting for that
120. 13:35how about i'm beautiful on the inside can  i hear it i'm beautiful and on the inside
121. 13:41sometimes i don't think abby knows what she's  talking about girls i want you to sit here and
122. 13:45enjoy the view and relax chloe come on i  want you to take a walk with me real quick
123. 13:53chloe your mom told me that you had a breakdown  you told her you didn't want to dance anymore i
124. 14:00just feel like it's a lot of rehearsal and because  we're going from early in the morning to late at
125. 14:06night and we're learning new dances and i just  feel like it's a lot well she thinks that you
126. 14:12don't want to ever dance again i i just told my  mom i wanted to take a little break for a while
127. 14:17well that's okay everybody needs a break once  in a while but just remember i have a whole long
128. 14:22list of people that want to be in this group  of people that want to do duets with maddie
129. 14:28you're my first choice and i think you were really  born to dance do you think i wouldn't be able to
130. 14:34make it on broadway or become a rocket someday  absolutely but the confidence level needs to be
131. 14:42over the top abby told me that i have the  potential to be on broadway and what she says
132. 14:49to me and what she thinks is pretty important to  me because she's my dance teacher everything is
133. 14:54possible everything and if you keep listening  to me and do what i tell you nice come on
134. 15:07we got our shoes first oh they have a whole bar  in there do you have any with rhinestones abby
135. 15:12pushes me way too much i think that i need to  get away from her and i think the girls do too
136. 15:17so we decided we were gonna go  do something fun with the girls
137. 15:21i told her she could take brooks crown and shove  it up her ass i really do mean that i'm leaving
138. 15:28tomorrow for vacation so it's nice to go out  with the kids for something fun and not rehearsal
139. 15:36i'm curt i'm the father of maddie and mackenzie
140. 15:44i came here because i found out melissa was
141. 15:47going on vacation she didn't tell me she  was going away she didn't tell me anything
142. 15:55why didn't you tell him seriously i did kurt  i don't want to talk about it i told you
143. 16:00i guess i did you don't listen i'm not trying to  figure it out if you would have said that to me
144. 16:05i wouldn't know kurt i did tell you yes i did  you don't listen to me when i talk i told you
145. 16:10kurt is not a very good listener i told him  that i was leaving my whole marriage with him
146. 16:15he just never listens to what i say i heard from  a third party my kids are going to be hurt without
147. 16:30i was really mad because i really don't  appreciate when my ex-husband is checking up on me
148. 16:34guys we gotta leave dance had a lot to do with  the breakup of my family i mean i'm their father
149. 16:41and i have a right to know who's watching my kids  i'm not leaving here i'm staying with my kids
150. 17:00so we're in lake tahoe and we're going to do the  starbound competition and this is our last chance
151. 17:04to win hey girls good morning brooke and paige  are doing the duet together this week and i'm
152. 17:11very excited about it my girls have never danced  together and i think it'll be nice i'm doing it to
153. 17:16what with my sister brooke and the song's called  ooh lala and i really like it mia mackenzie chloe
154. 17:23maddie you could go through the group dance a  little bit but we're gonna rehearse it later
155. 17:27brooke and paige i'm gonna send the girls into  the other room abby sent my two daughters into
156. 17:35another room with a guest choreographer and abby  and gianna stayed in the room and were teaching
157. 17:39maddie her solo i was not very happy with that i  mean why is there two teachers in there that know
158. 17:46what my kids can do both working with maddie  but this is why maddie wins and my kids don't
159. 17:53i had a rehearsal coach in there with them  just to kind of guide them through some things
160. 17:58paige and brooke have never done a duet so i  wanted one of the other dance instructors to
161. 18:03work with them on some double tricks and what they  could do holding hands all i wanted to do was give
162. 18:08them something to do while i finished up with  maddie mine are gonna learn theirs in 15 minutes
163. 18:14from a choreographer who doesn't even know what  leg they kick on do you want me to say something
164. 18:18to her i mean i don't but the worst because  you're gonna be able to see why maddie wins
165. 18:23some children are difficult to work with and  some children are a joy to work with my kids
166. 18:29are in here with someone who they just met two  two weeks ago that's the problem kelly totally
167. 18:36flipped she was out of line she was rude and  disrespectful and i could hear every word she was
168. 18:42saying kelly do you really think that maddie can't  work with the choreographer she met two weeks ago
169. 18:51i think there's no reason for you to have two  of you in there and mine in here with someone
170. 18:56who doesn't even know what leg they kick on no  he's supposed to be choreographing well then
171. 19:00let him count choreographed maddie's  that sure as hell would never happen
172. 19:05all right well let's keep going on we'll  get 10th place maddie obviously will get
173. 19:12first and so will their duet yeah kelly come  in here i don't feel like fighting with her
174. 19:22but i have no problem we would be  more than happy to do her number
175. 19:25but you have to wait one of you two should be  helping him you can surely teach maddie yourself
176. 19:33but no mattie is the priority so  both of the main teachers work here
177. 19:40but maddie you can go and win honey obviously  nothing was gonna change abby was still gonna
178. 19:45finish with maddie and i was still gonna have  the guest choreographer who was asking me
179. 19:50what they could do i'm not a teacher i'm not a  choreographer i mean i'm the dance mom jealousy
180. 19:55and it went right back to being jealous of the  eight-year-old maddie let's go we're leaving
181. 20:02i'm done with it i'm done my kids i  don't care if they ever dance again
182. 20:07and maddie can win again this week  and the world can think she's fabulous
183. 20:11cause my kids are gonna enjoy  themselves at the pool she leaves
184. 20:15with her kids in an uproar screaming and  yelling leaving the studio so now we're done
185. 20:23it's over i don't have any more time to rehearse  with them and her kids are about to compete at
186. 20:28nationals so instead of getting my attention that  she claims she wants she got nobody's attention
187. 20:44we're at starbound and it's our final nationals to  this is big for us i think the moms and the girls
188. 20:50are starting to feel a little bit of pressure  abby's not used to having losing numbers and
189. 20:55you know we don't want to be the ones who tarnish  the abbey lee dance company name so it's up to us
190. 21:00to step up to the plate and bring it let's  get the game faces on get the energy going
191. 21:05and you get backstage and you psych out every  other kid do you understand we need to go home
192. 21:14kurt is here at the competition because melissa  is on vacation kurt's their dad they're going
193. 21:19to be across the country and i think it's only  normal that they have a parent there hey man how
194. 21:24are you cool you look pretty you ready um just  be yourself just don't worry about anyone else
195. 21:35right nervous no don't get nervous there's  nothing to be nervous about we're getting our
196. 21:40girls ready and all of a sudden kurt walks in  and maddie's like okay dad nice to see you but
197. 21:44go i don't know if he makes her nervous i  don't know if she feels conflicted between
198. 21:48taking a side and she feels that she's  betraying her mom if she's nice to her dad
199. 21:52but she definitely didn't want him around  break the leg okay bye go just you go
200. 22:00please all right i'll let you go okay  bye kenz i'll see you a little later okay
201. 22:07you all right sure i get a little nervous  when my dad comes backstage he freaks me
202. 22:16out sometimes because it's not the same as  my mom here maddie let me give you a mommy
203. 22:19hug since your mommy's not here good luck thank  you okay and i'll give you a mummy hug because
204. 22:23i'm your mommy so we're getting ready to  compete in tahoe and to be honest chloe's
205. 22:28feeling a little defeated right now she had  a lot of pressure put on her in las vegas and
206. 22:33i think frankly the whole comparison between  her and maddie is starting to wear on her
207. 22:37and it's not fair chloe is a different  person and should be treated as such
208. 22:44chloe is my biggest competitor we are  competing against each other for nationals
209. 22:57manhattan

211. 23:44when i watch maddie dance i'm  just so proud of her she just
212. 23:47just amazes me every day every time i see her
213. 23:53when you talk about the pressure between me and  maddie it's kind of different but not really
214. 23:58different there's pressure on maddie because  she's won all season long and there's a lot of
215. 24:02pressure on me because i have to prove that i can  do it as well we're at nationals this is our last
216. 24:09competition i really want chloe to win a crown  she deserves it zero zero six another season
217. 24:35another year another season
218. 24:42another story closed again
219. 24:49one more tail is ending
220. 24:56i wonder what the next will bring
221. 25:19i'm watching chloe do her solo and she's doing an  amazing job she's really just nailing everything
222. 25:24and then we're getting to the end and it  was the last eight count she was frozen
223. 25:30on stage and chloe reads like a book she can't  cover that up and i'm sitting there and i just
224. 25:34wanted to run up and grab her and give her a  hug and run her off stage but you can't do that
225. 25:45i was very surprised by chloe she knows what  it looks like when someone forgets their dance
226. 25:50she knows how awful that is so why she didn't  just run around in a circle and airbes sote
227. 25:56off the stage i will never know hey you  want to make me cry i was just upset and
228. 26:07confused why i did that i just cried
229. 26:13i guess everyone cries from the crossing stage
230. 26:21that's okay
231. 26:26she's a little girl mistakes happen  you know we all can't be perfect
232. 26:51i'm kind of a humble guy i mean i'm  very proud of her and i just hope
233. 26:56she just continues her success and i i hope  it don't go to her head that's one thing
234. 27:03i want another crown i'm lucky i have nine crowns  now and they don't really fit on my shelf so i'm
235. 27:08gonna ask my mom to build another shelf maddie  was the title winner of the whole competition
236. 27:16i thought she did a great job i was very proud  of her good job congrats maddie congratulations
237. 27:24maddie i i couldn't be prouder of you even if  you had the world's biggest crown i wouldn't
238. 27:29be any prouder than you that i am right now  okay i'll let you live with us still okay
239. 27:45everything was so last minute between the costumes  and nobody practicing with the girls so i went
240. 27:51backstage with them i needed to be back there  because i was playing teacher number one zero zero
241. 28:00my five
242. 28:27but not a broken heart that's  just a shot in the dark
243. 28:37paige and brooke weren't ready if brook and  paige wouldn't have left rehearsal yesterday
244. 28:42they would have nailed that  number but instead mediocre
245. 29:02everybody said our timing was really good  and that we were together but i don't think
246. 29:07we were really that together because every  time i looked over we were kind of like
247. 29:10off i don't think it was the best time i've  ever danced you did great good job ladies
248. 29:23i mess up my solo so i really hope  i do well with the black swan duet
249. 29:28this is national so we have to win  this is lyrical ages 9 to 10 black swan

251. 30:46maddie and chloe have had several duets  but this new duet was a little edgier
252. 30:51and chloe looked gorgeous she was evil she  was sophisticated she just was stunning i
253. 30:57think this was chloe's opportunity to redeem  herself in front of this panel of judges
254. 31:03so she went out there like gangbusters and they  just knocked one out of the park it was amazing
255. 31:12chloe i love the attitude  you guys were really good
256. 31:17maddie and chloe i mean if you watch the two  dances side by side their choreography is a
257. 31:23totally different level of choreography you  can see that on stage i'll say the costumes
258. 31:29they have a custom-made costume on  their body i got a bra from the mall
259. 31:33i mean it's like i'm purposely sticking my kids  on stage to be made fools of i'm tired of it
260. 31:54when me and paige placed fifth for our duet  i wasn't really surprised just because i knew
261. 31:58it wasn't really our best number and now it's  time to announce your top overall junior 2d trio
262. 32:12it's going to block
263. 32:18for my duet with maddie we got the overall high  score first place and that felt really good good
264. 32:25job good job guys good job hey hey congratulations  it's very important that the girls win for their
265. 32:33group number because this is our last competition  of the season our final nationals i want the girls
266. 32:40to win they have worked too hard they've come too  far we need a winning number and they need to pull
267. 32:46it together remember lake tahoe the gorgeous  lake the beautiful mountains how pristine how
268. 32:53beautiful everything was that's why i took you  there i want you to walk on stage and be that
269. 32:59same vision so when those judges look up they  go if the tops come up do not freak the judges
270. 33:07have seen it all believe me they're all in show  business you've seen one boob you've seen them all
271. 33:13hey no no no no no no so kirk comes in the  dressing room and abby doesn't even let his
272. 33:18foot cross the threshold and she's like you out  i need to talk to you and i'm just sitting there
273. 33:23thinking oh well for once it's not me i don't want  you near her why because she did her worked up
274. 33:30i've told you before this is not the place  or the time we want to win this group dance
275. 33:34she's an integral part of it and i want her to be  focused why he makes her nervous i don't know but
276. 33:40he was an athlete he claims and he did all this  and he knows everything and i think he tries to
277. 33:46give her tips that don't make sense and he's  rude to other people so that is offensive to
278. 33:54maddie and it gets her worked up and she  doesn't want to be embarrassed by her dad
279. 33:58i'm not working my daughters up how am i working  tomorrow you are in my work what other dad is in
280. 34:02that room right now not one other day goes to  show you that i'm here for my kids five minutes
281. 34:07before she's supposed to go on stage she does not  need you in there saying something stupid what do
282. 34:11i say today you think she just gets upset she does  not get it yes she does no she doesn't daughter i
283. 34:16know my daughter more than you do trust me i know  much i spend more time with her you know what this
284. 34:20this dance has done to me and my family don't you  well you know what you keep saying that but i'll
285. 34:26tell you what you haven't brainwashed do they live  in fear i didn't need melissa to be at the studio
286. 34:31she wanted to be there all those hours that  that's not what i'm trying to talk about
287. 34:35i want you to know too you you did not you were  making dinner i didn't make my daughters you
288. 34:40didn't make my daughter's name i trained her you  trained her i put her name on the map that's right
289. 34:44i will tell you this i will do everything possible  for my daughter to leave your studio next year
290. 34:52five minutes before she's supposed to go on stage  she does not need you in there saying something
291. 34:57stupid what do i say that you think she just gets  upset she does not get yes she does no she doesn't
292. 35:02i know my daughter more than you do  trust me i spend more time with her
293. 35:08i am making the sacrifices for his child  he doesn't even need to be here she's great
294. 35:14she's fine everybody knows who maddie is and  i did that are you ready mackenzie come on
295. 35:27head front on the grunge tate look  right at the judges on the coupe so day
296. 35:32the girls have not been winning on the road  and this is the last chance for the abby
297. 35:36lee dance company to get that national title  everything depends on winning here at nationals
298. 35:43i don't want a place i want to win the whole thing
