1. 0:00Many of you know that Rosie O'Donnell
2. 0:02and Michelle Trachtenberg starred
3. 0:04together in Harriet the Spy decades ago,
4. 0:08and after Michelle's tragic death last
5. 0:11year, Rosie revealed that she had been
6. 0:15struggling, but did not go into detail
7. 0:18until now.
8. 0:19Hello, my friend. It is Perez, the queen
9. 0:21of all media, the original influencer,
10. 0:23and Michelle Trachtenberg's official
11. 0:26cause of death was complications from
12. 0:29diabetes.
13. 0:31Not long before she passed, Michelle had
14. 0:33a liver transplant, and according to
15. 0:35those who knew her, had been struggling
16. 0:38with health issues.
17. 0:40Now, Rosie says of Michelle's passing,
18. 0:42"It was a tragedy. She was a real genius
19. 0:46child who was able to memorize anything,
20. 0:49pick up her lines. You could improvise
21. 0:52with her, and she was connected and
22. 0:53right there. She was so close to her
23. 0:56mother, Lana, and her sister, who's a
24. 0:58ballerina.
25. 0:59They were a very loving family, and
26. 1:01then, you know, she got into hugs and
27. 1:06I believe, and then I lost touch with
28. 1:08her.
29. 1:10In the last few years, when she was in
30. 1:12pretty bad shape, she would call me, and
31. 1:15we would talk.
32. 1:17I also called her mother to find out
33. 1:19what was going on, and her mother told
34. 1:21me what was happening and how long it
35. 1:23had been happening. We were supposed to
36. 1:26see each other three or four times, and
37. 1:28she just never showed up. Sometimes at
38. 1:31restaurants, other times at my house,
39. 1:34where we'd had someone prepare the whole
40. 1:36meal. I would call her and go, "Honey,
41. 1:38are you heading over?" And she'd go,
42. 1:41"Was that today?"
43. 1:42She was not in good shape.
44. 1:44I didn't think that she would pass.
45. 1:47With most people suffering from
46. 1:49addiction, their loved ones think that
47. 1:51they'll survive it, but you can die from
48. 1:54your addiction to hugs or drinking,
49. 1:57and it happens too often that it must be
50. 2:00taken seriously.
51. 2:02Rosie adds, "I wish I could have done
52. 2:04more. I tried to help her as much as I
53. 2:07could, but she was inaccessible toward
54. 2:10the end and it was tragic."
55. 2:13I definitely believe that speaking about
56. 2:15this important topic can help people.
57. 2:18However,
58. 2:20if Rosie didn't get permission from
59. 2:23Michelle's family, I think this is out
60. 2:25of line.
61. 2:27What do you think? Let me know in the
62. 2:29comments section.
