Is the NEW BMW X5 still the BEST SUV in the world? — Transcript

- 0:00This is the new BMW X5. And to find out
- 0:02[music] if it's any good, I'm going to
- 0:03review it. Oh my god. Also, to see if it
- 0:06moves the game on, I'm going to compare
- 0:07[music] it to the old BMW X5.
- 0:12Why? Let's do this.
- 0:17Let's start off by talking about the
- 0:18design of the new X5. So, in the past,
- 0:20BMW has evolved the look of the X5 with
- 0:23every other generation. And so, it was
- 0:25the case until now, cuz they've gone,
- 0:27"Sit. Let's just go completely crazy and
- 0:29make it look different to all its
- 0:31predecessors. And different it does look
- 0:33different in a good way or in a bad way.
- 0:35Well, I'll put a poll on my Instagram
- 0:37stories to find out what you think. But
- 0:38first, I'm going to tell you what I
- 0:39think. So,
- 0:42[laughter]
- 0:43it's definitely got some presence,
- 0:44hasn't it? Now, I can see why it might
- 0:45be quite polarizing, and in some ways it
- 0:47is. When I first saw it, I wasn't sure,
- 0:49but it has grown on me. And that tends
- 0:51to be the case with BMW designs when
- 0:53they do things a little bit daring. I
- 0:55like the way that you have the X's as
- 0:58the daytime running lights. I like the
- 1:00way the grill illuminates the smaller
- 1:01kidney grills. I'm getting used to those
- 1:03as well. This is just more classy. It
- 1:05looks like a normal SUV, whereas this is
- 1:08definitely more like something from the
- 1:09future better. If you want visual drama,
- 1:12I'd say it is from the front at least.
- 1:14But what about the back? When you look
- 1:16at the rear of the old car, it's quite
- 1:17classy. It's the same as the front
- 1:19really, but I do prefer the rear of this
- 1:20car than the front of it. And it looks
- 1:22like an X5. It looks like an SUV. And
- 1:24then you move to the new one and it's
- 1:26the same story as the front. It's just
- 1:28completely different and way more
- 1:30modern. In fact, this is quite a boxy
- 1:31car, whereas look at this. It's got more
- 1:34of a sloping roof line there. You also
- 1:36have these wider hips. It's sort of
- 1:38reminds me of a Porsche 911 in some
- 1:39ways. There's also something else
- 1:40interesting about it. So, if you look
- 1:42here, right, you might be thinking, "Oh,
- 1:43this is the EX-5. It's the electric
- 1:45version, but it isn't. It's actually the
- 1:4640i. It's a petrol." If you look
- 1:48underneath here, we have the exhaust
- 1:50pipes there. It's almost like it's
- 1:51embarrassment of them. It's hiding them
- 1:52away. Whereas on this old car, you can
- 1:55see them. Look, they're in there. It's
- 1:57proud of them. It's actually
- 1:58accentuating them. And as someone who's
- 2:00a Gen Xer, big exhaust pipes equal big
- 2:02power. So, I like exhaust pipes on a
- 2:05petrol powered car. So, I'm missing them
- 2:07from the new one. There is something I
- 2:08really don't like about the back end of
- 2:10this car compared to the old one though.
- 2:11More on that later. Overall though, from
- 2:13the rear, it's a tough one because I do
- 2:14like the classy look of that. But I also
- 2:16like this. It's a tough call. Things get
- 2:18a little bit easier to decide on from
- 2:20the side though for me. These cars look
- 2:23very different. You wouldn't even know
- 2:24that they were related. So, the old car
- 2:27looks like an SUV. This looks like a big
- 2:30chunky hatchback. Now, the height
- 2:32difference, well, the old car is 1.6 cm
- 2:35taller than the new car. I know it looks
- 2:37like way more. It's because I have the
- 2:38air suspension slammed in that car. I'm
- 2:41going to put it all the way up. We'll
- 2:42see if it looks much different.
- 2:45Now, I've actually raised the car up by
- 2:466 cm. Speaking of 6 cm, the new model is
- 2:506 cm longer than the old one. It's also
- 2:526 cm longer in the wheelbase. So,
- 2:55between the wheels, and we'll find out
- 2:56the effect of that when we climb inside
- 2:58in a bit. So, now it's a bit more SUV,
- 3:00isn't it? But still, it's got more of
- 3:01that hatchback vibe, hasn't it, than the
- 3:03old car. There's also really less going
- 3:05on with it. So, part of BMW's new
- 3:08design, it's just this like smooth door
- 3:10profile. Look, the only creases you get
- 3:13really are here over the wheel arches,
- 3:15and they're almost too high. It's like
- 3:17when someone has a facelift and like
- 3:19their eyebrows are just raised up too
- 3:20much. Whereas if you go to the old car,
- 3:22you've got this black cladding there, so
- 3:24it's very SUV like you have like clear
- 3:26creases creating character down the car.
- 3:29You've also got these running boards
- 3:30here which actually get in the way when
- 3:32you get in and out the car, but it just
- 3:33creates the whole SUV vibe. And you've
- 3:36got normal door handles. More on that in
- 3:38a bit. This one though doesn't have
- 3:40normal door handles. From a distance,
- 3:41you can't even see them. So it looks
- 3:43like really smooth and clean, but there
- 3:45they are there. Another thing worth
- 3:46mentioning is this. You don't have like
- 3:48the plastic surround for the windows.
- 3:51Basically, they copied this design from
- 3:52the Range Rover and it just looks more
- 3:54modern than the old way of doing things
- 3:56over there. Another thing worth noting
- 3:57is you don't have the running boards and
- 3:59so you have these bits that are like
- 4:00almost like side skirts but not quite
- 4:02giving the car more sporty look. Another
- 4:05thing that makes it look more sporty is
- 4:06that on the old car wheel sizes went
- 4:08from 19 going to 22. These start at 21s
- 4:12go all the way up to 23s. These ones are
- 4:1422s, I believe. So, that's all well and
- 4:16good. And that brings me back to the
- 4:17door handles, cuz this is less good.
- 4:19While they look cool, they're just not
- 4:21as easy to use as traditional handles.
- 4:25And wait a minute. Listen to the sound
- 4:26of that.
- 4:28Now, with these, you have to like just
- 4:29pull like that. Oh god, it's Oh, got to
- 4:32unlock it. Sorry. It's got a setting on
- 4:34where it only opens the driver's door.
- 4:35It's a real pain.
- 4:38Now, you didn't hear it click because
- 4:39everything is electrically controlled.
- 4:40has just allowed the system to operate
- 4:42because there's just a little touch
- 4:44sensitive sensor behind there which
- 4:46senses you pulling on it and then you
- 4:48can open the door. But to me that just
- 4:49doesn't sound quite as solid as the old
- 4:52car and just opening the collar just
- 4:54seems a bit it's like you pull on it and
- 4:56then it releases.
- 4:58It's changed for changes sake. It's not
- 5:00actually progress. It's just different.
- 5:02And that brings on to the interior.
- 5:04Before we do that though, I need to give
- 5:05you my verdict on the overall design.
- 5:07So, when I first compared the new BMW X5
- 5:10to the old X5,
- 5:12I wasn't quite used to the design, but
- 5:13BMW designs always grow on you. And now,
- 5:16I do slightly prefer the look of the new
- 5:17car. It's less traditional, less X5e,
- 5:20but it is cooler. However, did the
- 5:23internet that voted on my Instagram
- 5:25story think the same? No, they didn't.
- 5:2741% thought that the new car looked
- 5:28better and 59% thought that the old car
- 5:31did. I also asked them about what they
- 5:32thought about the inside. So, let's go
- 5:33check that out. The interior of the new
- 5:35X5 is a blend of the EX and the old X5.
- 5:39So, it feels noticeably more modern and
- 5:41futuristic than its predecessor. I mean,
- 5:44one of the big things about it is this
- 5:45BMW's panoramic eye vision display where
- 5:48you got all these icons and information
- 5:49right above the dash. This all works
- 5:52well. Look, the speeder and stuff being
- 5:53there, but then some of the other icons
- 5:55are just Why do I need to know my
- 5:56elevation? Why do I need to know my
- 5:58compass setting? You also have sat nav
- 6:00on there which is actually quite good
- 6:01graphics but it's too thin for you to be
- 6:03able to see where you're actually going.
- 6:05And to tell you the truth, there's
- 6:06almost information overload. So you have
- 6:07the satnav there. If you got the head-up
- 6:09display, you have it in the heads-up
- 6:10display as well. And actually on the
- 6:11heads-up display, it's really
- 6:12impressive. And then you have it here on
- 6:14the main infotainment system as well. So
- 6:16it's like where where shall I look? Too
- 6:17many choices. Now the infotainment
- 6:19system itself is pretty decent. The
- 6:21screen is very clear, very sharp. It's
- 6:24reasonably responsive as well. You do
- 6:26have to control the climate stuff
- 6:27through it. So, there's no actual
- 6:28physical buttons, but they're always on
- 6:30screen the whole time. And there's lots
- 6:33of functionality, which does take a
- 6:34little while to get used to. I can
- 6:36actually change some of the icons and
- 6:38information that is shown on that
- 6:39heads-up display there. And the central
- 6:42one is controlled through here. So,
- 6:44instead of the maps, I could go with the
- 6:45trip computer or the dynamics page,
- 6:48which has your like turbo boost and all
- 6:50that kind of stuff. And when you go into
- 6:52sports mode, which I do by pressing
- 6:54Where is sports mode? Oh, yeah. You have
- 6:56to do this dup. Then dup. It's not just
- 6:59a press of a button down here anymore. I
- 7:01can get the ref counter up. Although I
- 7:03want the rev counter to be there, not
- 7:05over there to tell you the truth. So you
- 7:06got your climate controls here. And if
- 7:08you want to move the direction of the
- 7:09vents, you do have to go in to the
- 7:11actual climate menu and then move it
- 7:13around. Heaven help you if you're buying
- 7:14this car in about 20 years time. I
- 7:16wonder how much of that would have
- 7:17broken. But I think it's easier to use
- 7:19overall than the previous car just
- 7:21because you got all these settings down
- 7:23here. Much like on a Tesla. Yeah, they
- 7:25copied Tesla. Definitely. Not so sure
- 7:27about the shape of it though. They're
- 7:28just creating shapes for the heck of it.
- 7:30And also don't like it with the optional
- 7:32passenger display which I can't operate
- 7:34because there's no one sat there for
- 7:36safety reasons. Just don't like
- 7:37passenger displays. The dashes on itself
- 7:40is pretty cool. And the materials used
- 7:41on it fairly nice apart from these
- 7:43plasticky bits. And if you look in the
- 7:47plasticky bits, you'll notice, look,
- 7:49there's actually ambient lighting. You
- 7:50change the color of that and it sort of
- 7:52flickers away. It's in there as well.
- 7:54It's quite unusual. I tell it's also
- 7:55unusual for BMW. Rather than having the
- 7:57seat controls here, they're on the door
- 7:59like in a Mercedes, only they're not
- 8:01fully on the door because if you want to
- 8:02do things like extend the actual seat
- 8:05base, you have to press a button and
- 8:06then go into the screen to do it.
- 8:09Why? Why? Why? Why? And I could say, why
- 8:12about the steering wheel? So, I feel
- 8:14more like I'm flying a spacecraft than
- 8:16steering a car with this. In some ways,
- 8:18it's a bit like a toy with the plasticky
- 8:19bits. And I don't like the touch
- 8:21sensitive controls here. I'm just never
- 8:23sure whether I press them properly or
- 8:24not. and the shape's a bit awkward.
- 8:26However, it actually feels nice to hold.
- 8:28So, you can either hold it there or hold
- 8:30it there. I do actually like it to use.
- 8:32I'm just not the biggest fan of how it
- 8:34looks. I'm also not the biggest fan of
- 8:36how there's a little bit of a drop in
- 8:37quality over the previous X5. I'll show
- 8:39you in a minute. But if you just look at
- 8:41this, these are the controls for the
- 8:42indicators and stuff. Look at that.
- 8:44Right. And then down here on the door
- 8:46bins, by the way, the door bins are
- 8:48pretty large and practical. That is like
- 8:50cheap ass plastic down there. And then
- 8:52you got other bits which are quite
- 8:53unusual like this. Look, that's that's
- 8:54stone. It's a thin slice of stone. I'm
- 8:57very worried that that could be cracked
- 8:58if you accidentally knocked it or lent
- 8:59on it. Anyway, while I'm here, let's
- 9:00just talk through the storage. Pretty
- 9:02decent standard X5 stuff. You got your
- 9:04wireless charging there and there. You
- 9:06got USBs. You got a glove box there
- 9:09lined with felt. So, that feels
- 9:10expensive. Let's just jump into the old
- 9:13car so I can show you the difference. It
- 9:15does feel older. I do believe that the
- 9:18new one's infotainment system is just
- 9:19easier to use by being able to swipe
- 9:21through all the menus here. But in other
- 9:23ways, it's not easier to use because you
- 9:24got the satnav on this one here, right
- 9:26in front of you. Right, that is the best
- 9:28place for the satnav there. So, you
- 9:29don't even have to glance across there
- 9:30if you don't want to. And other things
- 9:32are just easier to use. Like, I want to
- 9:34change the direction of the air vents, I
- 9:35just do it like that. I want to change
- 9:37my driving mode, I just press the
- 9:38buttons here. I want to move the base
- 9:40bit on my seat, I just reach down here
- 9:41and press a button. It's all there for
- 9:43me. I want to open the door handle, I
- 9:45just pull the door handle. I'm not
- 9:46finding out where where's that little
- 9:47button I got to press to open the door
- 9:48handle. The steering wheel is round. It
- 9:50looks better. The buttons on it are just
- 9:52physical buttons, so they're easy to
- 9:53press and just feel more natural.
- 9:55Though, if I'm brutally honest, yes, I
- 9:56do prefer holding the wheel in the new
- 9:58car. The quality in here just feels
- 9:59slightly better as well, dare I say it.
- 10:01So, just that just feels a bit more
- 10:03weighty. And down here, we've got soft
- 10:05touch on the door bins. Another thing
- 10:07that feels a bit more expensive, the
- 10:09seats. Don't know what it is. Maybe it's
- 10:10the quilting effect on these, but
- 10:12they're just a bit more sumptuous.
- 10:14Another way this car feels a bit more
- 10:15expensive is how it covers up the cup
- 10:18holders. Obviously fitting a sliding
- 10:20cubby cover costs more money and that's
- 10:23why they haven't fitted it to the new
- 10:24car and you can just get the vibe that
- 10:26they've spent on tech and so in other
- 10:28areas they've had to cut a few corners.
- 10:30Do you know what visually I prefer this
- 10:32interior apart from the infotainment
- 10:33system? I think it's better. But what
- 10:35did everyone else think? Let's have a
- 10:37look at my Instagram story cuz I asked
- 10:39them about the interior. 40% preferred
- 10:41the new interior. 60% preferred this old
- 10:44interior. Well, I think we agree on that
- 10:46at least. But what about the driving
- 10:48experience? Has it improved? Time to
- 10:50find out. Before driving this car, I
- 10:52actually went out in the previous
- 10:54generation just to set a baseline for
- 10:56this so I can compare it. Now, there is
- 10:58one big difference between that car and
- 11:00this car. The old car was on just normal
- 11:03passive suspension. This is on adaptive
- 11:05air suspension. And instantly, you can
- 11:07feel the difference. It's just I mean,
- 11:09the old car just felt great, but this
- 11:10one is like so soft and comfy and
- 11:13relaxing. There is one thing I think I
- 11:14can feel already. It's the added weight.
- 11:16So, this car weighs 2.3 tons. So, it's
- 11:19about 125 kilos heavier. It's quite a
- 11:23lot, but there is something very like
- 11:25solid feeling about this. It feels
- 11:27expensive in the way that it goes down
- 11:28the road. The one thing I like when I'm
- 11:30driving cars in the US, they just sound
- 11:32better. They have less regulations for
- 11:34noise. So,
- 11:36cars just seem fruier. Throttle response
- 11:38in normal mode is so so you have to give
- 11:41it right old prod. So, let's go into
- 11:43sport mode, which is a bit of faf
- 11:44pressing this button here. Sports mode
- 11:46here as well on the gearbox. Got the rev
- 11:48counter up now.
- 11:54Other than the engine sound, this is
- 11:56quiet. Let me just check something.
- 12:01No, doesn't have acoustic glass. That's
- 12:03impressive without acoustic glass being
- 12:05that quiet. There is one thing I'm not
- 12:06sure about though, and it is this
- 12:08display. While it does seem futuristic,
- 12:09like you're in a spaceship, I think it
- 12:12just rises up a little bit too high over
- 12:14the bonnet. So, it just reduces the
- 12:17amount of glass you're looking through.
- 12:19It's not a big deal. I suppose if I sat
- 12:21higher, I'd just see over it. Yeah, I
- 12:24would. But I like sitting low. Let's
- 12:26come out of sports mode. I have to press
- 12:27this button here. Don't like the dark
- 12:29mode that it goes into sport. I much
- 12:30prefer the light. I'm the kind of person
- 12:31that has light mode on his phone. Do you
- 12:33have light mode or dark mode?
- 12:34>> Oh, everything dark.
- 12:36>> Why? cuz my eyes hurt.
- 12:39[laughter]
- 12:40>> You make my brain hurt. Right, let's put
- 12:42the cruise control on.
- 12:45There we go. Cruise control is on
- 12:46assisted driving because I'm in the
- 12:48States in certain places it will let you
- 12:49take your hands completely off the
- 12:50wheel, but it'll tell me when I can do
- 12:52that. And I don't think now is the time
- 12:54that I can. I have to say the heads-up
- 12:56display of this car is phenomenal. But I
- 12:59do have information overload. So many
- 13:01screens saying the same thing. I don't
- 13:03know where to look. Can I take my hands
- 13:04off? Taking my hands off. Can I do it
- 13:07here or is it going to get cross? It's
- 13:09not getting cross. No, it is getting
- 13:11cross. It's comfy, isn't it?
- 13:13>> It's very comfy. The seats are not as
- 13:14good, though.
- 13:15>> The seats are not as good, are they? The
- 13:18engine's as good, if not slightly
- 13:19better. In fact, it is slightly better.
- 13:21So, you get the same 3 L straight 6
- 13:23turbo. In the old car, it had 380
- 13:25horsepower. In this one, 400 horsepower.
- 13:27N 60 5.3 seconds. Now, we won't actually
- 13:30be getting this engine in the United
- 13:32Kingdom. The range actually starts with
- 13:35the iix-5, the electric 160 from
- 13:39£85,000. And that car has 578
- 13:42horsepower. Or you can pay a bit more
- 13:43and you can get the diesel though that
- 13:45comes in slightly higher trim. M Sport
- 13:47that is about 500 quid more and it has
- 13:49313 horsepower. So the electric car
- 13:52seems like a bit of a bargain. I'll
- 13:53actually test that fully when I'm back
- 13:55in the UK. I want to have a go with the
- 13:57petrol first. So let's see if we can do
- 13:59this auto cruise. Come on. Assisted
- 14:02driving activated. Can I take my hands
- 14:04off? Is this a place where it's
- 14:06permitted? No, it's not. Where is I mean
- 14:08this this is perfect for it. Why not?
- 14:10Why not here? Then if you can hear I'm
- 14:11getting a bit of wind noise from up
- 14:12here. It's not too bad. Though it is
- 14:14very windy today, which is probably
- 14:16making it worse. Handsree activated.
- 14:18Look. So now I can just chill. Will it
- 14:20take me off this junction handsree?
- 14:22No, it wants my hands back on the wheel
- 14:24now. So a brief section of
- 14:25handsfreeness. Look how slow it's going.
- 14:27This car can go quick around this
- 14:29corner. BMW software guys clearly have
- 14:31little faith in their engineers because
- 14:35I'm telling you now we could have gone
- 14:36around there quicker. Although we might
- 14:38have ended up driving into the back of
- 14:40that. No, we wouldn't have because it's
- 14:41got auto brake. Still steering here.
- 14:44It's quite good. It works with you. So
- 14:46you can steer and it lets you and then
- 14:48it'll take over. You just work together.
- 14:50It's not like a Tesla system where if
- 14:52you're trying to put in any input that
- 14:54it doesn't like it's like no turn it
- 14:56off.
- 15:00It's quick enough. Gear shifts are
- 15:02smooth and rapid when you want them to
- 15:03be. Even in sports mode, the suspension
- 15:06feels good. Granted, these roads are
- 15:08very smooth.
- 15:11Wait a minute. Oh my god. BMW drivers
- 15:14have a reputation for not using their
- 15:16indicators. And so BMW has now
- 15:20introduced automatic indicators.
- 15:24So it doesn't matter. They know how to
- 15:26answer to their customers needs. That is
- 15:28brilliant. Did you see that?
- 15:30>> Yeah, I thought it was you.
- 15:31>> I just turned the window. I didn't press
- 15:32anything. It just did it. It's because
- 15:33it's on the auto cruise thing, but I was
- 15:35like, I'm going to go over into that
- 15:36lane and it just automatically did the
- 15:37indicator.
- 15:39Brilliant. In about 5 years time, people
- 15:41won't be saying that BMW drivers don't
- 15:43use their indicators because the car
- 15:44will do it for them. I'll do it again. I
- 15:46didn't do it then. It's only when it
- 15:49wants to change lane for the route. Got
- 15:51to say though, it's a very nice car to
- 15:53drive, isn't it? or not drive if it's
- 15:55driving you. Either way, feels very
- 15:57luxurious. Better than the old one.
- 15:59Definitely a bit of a step up. Not huge,
- 16:02but a step up, which is kind of
- 16:04important, isn't it? Otherwise, what's
- 16:06the point? I have to say the satnav
- 16:08leaves you in no doubt as to which
- 16:09junction you need. It's very clear.
- 16:12Normally, I'd be using Google Maps, but
- 16:14I actually think with this car, I might
- 16:17not. Well, I have to say this is a very
- 16:19pleasant experience as the driver, but
- 16:22what is this car like for people in the
- 16:25back? There's more knee room. It helps
- 16:27with the curvature of the seat as well.
- 16:28In fact, there's loads of knee room.
- 16:30Foot space is pretty good as well. The
- 16:32seats are comfy. There's lots of under
- 16:34thigh support. Head room is okay. Look
- 16:36at that. It's not quite as good as in
- 16:38the old car cuz the roof line is
- 16:39slightly lower, but really it doesn't
- 16:41matter. The windows go all the way down.
- 16:44And you have builtin sun blinds. Nice.
- 16:48Look. See? Look. There we go. Other
- 16:51things you got back here which are quite
- 16:52cool. Look. See this? What's this all
- 16:54about? Well, you can slaughter that boy
- 16:57in there. And then you get your mobile
- 16:59phone. And if you got the magnet thing,
- 17:01you can just attach it there like that
- 17:03to watch your phone when someone's
- 17:05driving you along.
- 17:07And there's another magnet thing down
- 17:09here for your wireless charging. there.
- 17:11Then you got your climate control there.
- 17:13You've got your seat back pockets for
- 17:15storage. You got your door bins which
- 17:17are decent size. But yet again, that
- 17:19feels cheaper than in the old car. And
- 17:22in fact, I'm going to show you this.
- 17:24Right. Oh, yeah. We have got some lovely
- 17:25pillows here. But
- 17:28like in the front, you fold this down.
- 17:30You have exposed cup holders. In the old
- 17:32car, there's this mechanism which keeps
- 17:34them hidden. Obviously, that is more
- 17:36expensive to produce, and they have
- 17:38saved money on this newer one here.
- 17:40H there's another way they save money
- 17:43into the boot. I used to own a Mark1 BMW
- 17:46X5 and one of the things I really liked
- 17:47about it was this. It had a split
- 17:51tailgate. Really handy. Makes it nice
- 17:54and easy to load because the load height
- 17:56is low yet you can then just open this
- 17:59part of the boot if you want to to just
- 18:01drop stuff in. Now the X5 has always had
- 18:04this feature. It differentiates it from
- 18:06the X3. However, things have changed.
- 18:10So, now the new car
- 18:13has a normal tailgate. It's not split
- 18:16folding anymore.
- 18:18It's just the same as the X3. Doesn't
- 18:20feel special. In terms of the actual
- 18:22capacity, it's the same. It's about 650
- 18:24L regardless. And yeah, it's easy to
- 18:26load because the low lip isn't that
- 18:28high, but it's just not the same as
- 18:29being able to quickly open the top part,
- 18:31drop stuff in. Save some money though,
- 18:33this does. But if you want to save some
- 18:34money, rather than buying a new car, you
- 18:36might want to buy the old X5. You see,
- 18:38on Car Wow, I found a previous
- 18:41generation X5. It's actually the X5M
- 18:44Competition from 2023 with just 18,000
- 18:46mi on the clock for £73,000. [music]
- 18:50H bit of a bargain considering you get
- 18:52625 horsepower. However, there's always
- 18:54a risk when buying used. You see, you
- 18:56can never be sure of a car's history.
- 18:58That is unless you do a car vertical
- 19:00history check. It's definitely worth
- 19:02doing on any used car you might be
- 19:04considering buying because here's an
- 19:05example of a car vertical history check
- 19:07on another BMW X5 and this report comes
- 19:10back with a very poor car vertical score
- 19:13just 47 out of 100. The reason for that
- 19:16is that there are three reports of
- 19:18damage and one of them was structural.
- 19:20So you probably wouldn't want to buy
- 19:22that car and you might not know about
- 19:24the damage unless you've done the car
- 19:25vertical history check. So if you're
- 19:27thinking about buying a used car, check
- 19:28out Car Vertical. Use the link in the
- 19:30description of this video and the code
- 19:33car wow for 20% off. So then what's my
- 19:36final verdict on the new BMW X5? Should
- 19:38you avoid it, consider it, shortlist it,
- 19:39or just go right ahead and buy it? Well,
- 19:41in some ways the old car is better, but
- 19:43in more the new one is. So if you can
- 19:45get on with the looks, I reckon you
- 19:47should shortlist the X5. It's a really
- 19:49good all round car. But is it better
- 19:51than the new Audi Q7? Click on the video

- 19:55out. Thanks for watching and I'll see
