3. 0:09she is five feet six inches tall with
4. 0:11brown hair if anyone sees her or has any
5. 0:14information of her whereabouts you're
6. 0:16asked to contact police

8. 0:32taylor's girlfriend cassandra waller
9. 0:34said hey my girlfriend who's living with
10. 0:37me hasn't come home i'm just concerned
11. 0:39about welfare
12. 0:40cassandra said it wasn't normal for
13. 0:43taylor to just come up missing and not
14. 0:46respond in text messages or phone calls
15. 0:49according to cassandra the day taylor
16. 0:51wright disappeared her friend ashley
17. 0:54mcarthur picked her up at approximately
18. 0:5610 am they were going to run some
19. 0:58errands
20. 0:59and then taylor at the end of the day

43. 2:07stuff out of the safety deposit box
44. 2:10so as i was getting in my car
45. 2:12ash had pulled up
46. 2:14and i was like all right you know we
47. 2:15hugged we kissed
48. 2:16said love you i went my way

53. 2:32um i text ash and i was like gosh like
54. 2:34where are you guys at because i thought
55. 2:35that they were just gonna run to the
56. 2:36bank that's the only thing i knew of

58. 2:39finally ash called me and ash was like
59. 2:41hey we're up at my mom's house which is
60. 2:42up in milton they own a farm
61. 2:45she was like you know taylor's broke
62. 2:46down and cried twice today i'm like what
63. 2:48is going on

65. 2:58ashley would have the capability or the
66. 3:01means
67. 3:02to harm taylor
68. 3:06i can't answer i don't know
69. 3:14i'm going through cassandra's cell phone
70. 3:16and i went in to get the detectives out
71. 3:18to talk about what i'm learning through
72. 3:20the phone i can see there is
73. 3:21communications about a bank and money

75. 3:25some other weird things that we didn't
76. 3:27know about before

80. 3:46paranoid she was talking about how she
81. 3:49felt like something just wasn't right
82. 3:50with ashley she wasn't sure if ash had
83. 3:52her money or not
84. 3:53because taylor's been trying to get the
85. 3:55money out of ash's safety deposit box
86. 3:58taylor said for like four or five days
87. 4:01and i was like taylor you know she's
88. 4:02probably been really busy
89. 4:04but she goes no cash she goes like i'm
90. 4:06telling you something just doesn't feel
91. 4:08right with me
92. 4:09i don't want to think this but like i
93. 4:11want to give you guys like whatever you
94. 4:12guys need we want i can't be so wrong no
95. 4:15i i'd rather you be wrong and have a
96. 4:17feeling or know something that's not
97. 4:19just to be mad and you know because i
98. 4:21like actually maybe accused or something

101. 4:26that interview was huge
102. 4:28because cassandra said that taylor had
103. 4:30given ashley money the money was the
104. 4:33biggest red flag that shifted this from
105. 4:35a missing person to
106. 4:37very suspicious activity potentially a
107. 4:39homicide
108. 4:40investigation taylor had given
109. 4:43ashley 34 000 to hold on to cassandra
110. 4:47said taylor gave this check to ashley
111. 4:50because she has a safety deposit box she
112. 4:52could put this check
113. 4:54into the first thing that we did was
114. 4:58subpoena ashley's bank for all the
115. 5:00records
116. 5:01we learned two things from this one we
117. 5:03confirmed she didn't have a safety
118. 5:04deposit box
119. 5:06at wells fargo second i could see a
120. 5:09deposit for 34 000
121. 5:12come into ashley's bank account and the
122. 5:15following day that money is transferred
123. 5:18out into various accounts
124. 5:20that deposit was taken down to zero
125. 5:23within a day
126. 5:24that's an alert for law enforcement
127. 5:27also when we got a copy of the cashier's
128. 5:29check and looked at the signature on the
129. 5:31back it did not match any of taylor
130. 5:33wright's signatures on other checks that
131. 5:36she had cashed
132. 5:37those multiple lies show us that she is
133. 5:40now involved in taylor's disappearance
134. 5:48cell phone data showed ashley never went
135. 5:50to milton florida actually she was 30
136. 5:53miles away in cantonment
137. 5:55during the investigation we learned that
138. 5:58ashley's family had a second farmhouse
139. 6:01in cantonment
140. 6:02right in the middle of where that cell
141. 6:04phone was at for those hours
142. 6:09and before we ask you any questions you
143. 6:11have the right to remain silent anything
144. 6:13you say can be used against your court

146. 6:21she had no clue that we had her cell
147. 6:23phone records that we had subpoenaed the
148. 6:26bank
149. 6:27so we wanted to confront her with
150. 6:29everything that we had learned and break
151. 6:31apart her
152. 6:32lie
153. 6:34we decided to search the cantonment
154. 6:36property simultaneously with the
155. 6:38interview because if we did find taylor
156. 6:41that's another thing that we could
157. 6:42confront her with and also arrest her at
158. 6:45the same time
159. 6:47the ultimate goal is to get her to
160. 6:49confess and tell us what took place

183. 7:38realize that we've gotten her bank
184. 7:40records and she starts squirming around
185. 7:42a little bit more crossing her hands
186. 7:45into her legs and that's an indication
187. 7:48that she's uncomfortable and not really
188. 7:50liking that line of questioning

211. 8:56point so i knew that there was a big
212. 8:58risk

214. 9:01interview to be over
215. 9:04don't let us tell us something that may
216. 9:05not be true
217. 9:09i think at this point i need an attorney
218. 9:11because it seems to me that still that i
219. 9:14did something to her

224. 9:50a couple hours into the search officers
225. 9:53noticed an area that had some foliage on
226. 9:56it that didn't really match
227. 9:58and when they moved the bushes and the
228. 10:00branches they could see what they
229. 10:02thought was a human skull
230. 10:04sticking up
231. 10:05in a mix of what appeared to be potting
232. 10:08soil and concrete
233. 10:13after we found the skull we were able to
234. 10:15put the skeletal remains together
235. 10:19and we actually found a necklace that
236. 10:22taylor had
237. 10:24that moment i knew it was her
238. 10:28we could see that on the back of the
239. 10:30skull there was a bullet hole
240. 10:33so we knew that she had been shot in the
241. 10:35back of the head
242. 10:43once we confirmed it was taylor we got
243. 10:46units over to ashley's residence where
244. 10:48we had her under surveillance and we
245. 10:50arrested him
246. 10:52what we believe happened was ashley took
247. 10:55taylor up to the farm up in cantonment
248. 10:59shot her in the back of the head
249. 11:01bared her in a shallow grave covered her
250. 11:03body up with a mixture of concrete and
251. 11:06potting soil and left her
252. 11:08i believe ashley macarthur felt backed
253. 11:10into a corner because she did not have
254. 11:12the money to give back to taylor
255. 11:15and the only option she saw was to get
256. 11:17rid of taylor wright

260. 11:36we the jury find the defendant ashley
261. 11:37mcarthur guilty of first degree
262. 11:39premeditated murder with a farm as
263. 11:42charged in the indictment

265. 11:46it was clear
266. 11:48beyond a reasonable doubt that ashley
267. 11:50was guilty
268. 11:51she was immediately sentenced to life in
269. 11:53prison without the possibility of parole
