4. 0:06about an absolute budget banger from
5. 0:08Adidas. It is the Adidas Galaxy 8 shoe.
6. 0:21Welcome to the channel. If you're new
7. 0:23and you've not seen one of my videos
8. 0:24before, I always look into five
9. 0:26different categories when I review a
10. 0:27pair of kicks. And then at the end of
11. 0:28the video, I will give these Adidas
12. 0:30Galaxy 8s an overall rating out of five
13. 0:33stars. And if you do like what you see

21. 0:47is where I kick the review off by going
22. 0:49straight into how they look on feet. But
23. 0:51first, I want to do their price because
24. 0:54these come in at a whopping £45
25. 0:57per pair. And I just want you to keep
26. 0:59that in mind whilst you're watching the
27. 1:01video, whilst I'm talking about them, at
28. 1:02how cheap this shoe is. So, that is the
29. 1:05recommended retail price. That's not a
30. 1:06sale price. That's [music] £45 per pair.
31. 1:10To put that into perspective, the kids'
32. 1:11version of this shoe is £30. So, to have
33. 1:14the adult version at 45, I don't know
34. 1:16how Adidas have done it, but they're
35. 1:19offering you a shoe that looks like
36. 1:21this, almost like a super shoe, for £45.
37. 1:25So, do keep that into consideration
38. 1:27whilst you're watching the video. Keep
39. 1:29it in your mind. And now, let's check
40. 1:30them out on feet.
41. 2:03>> Okay, so Adidas have released this a
42. 2:05budget Galaxy 8 in so many different
43. 2:08colorways that it's going to be really
44. 2:10easy to style no matter what you're
45. 2:11wearing it for. I mean, the triple black
46. 2:12colorway could be used for just everyday
47. 2:14school, college, work, anywhere that you
48. 2:16need to wear blacked-out kicks. Then
49. 2:18you've got these other colorways here
50. 2:19like this really reminds me of
51. 2:22like a proper running kind of silhouette
52. 2:24colorway with these hints of the volt
53. 2:26green coming into these different like
54. 2:28beiges that you get with the upper of
55. 2:29the shoe. I really really like this shoe
56. 2:31overall looks-wise cuz I think they've
57. 2:33modeled it on like a super shoe, but it
58. 2:35only costs £45. This shoe to me looks
59. 2:38like it costs £220.
60. 2:40I think they've done really nice things
61. 2:41with the upper. So, it's got really nice
62. 2:43fabrics. It almost feels like a three or
63. 2:45four D printed fabric. You know that you
64. 2:47get on like the the new Climacools. It
65. 2:49feels like that. It's got really nice
66. 2:51webbed effect to the upper of this.
67. 2:53Really lightweight. And then you've got
68. 2:55the branding for these. Really nice and
69. 2:57shiny. Really bold. Almost like the Evo
70. 2:59SLs. They don't go down into the
71. 3:01midsole, but you still get a nice chunky
72. 3:03bit of branding. You've got nice
73. 3:04standard flat lacing, but you've got TPU
74. 3:06reinforcement around the laces. Got some
75. 3:08Adidas branding on the tongue, the
76. 3:10Ortholite insole. You've got further
77. 3:12Adidas branding towards the heel and
78. 3:14it's got a really nice addition of like
79. 3:15a TPU plate on it here that adds just
80. 3:17that little bit extra. You don't find
81. 3:19those details normally on a pair of
82. 3:20kicks that cost £45. Then you've got
83. 3:23this huge Cloudfoam midsole. It's
84. 3:26absolutely massive. It's got really nice
85. 3:29cutaways in it though. It reminds me of
86. 3:30the Nike Ever Rovers a little bit. It's
87. 3:32got that nice cutaway that goes away
88. 3:34from the foot and then goes back through
89. 3:35with these linear bits. I really like
90. 3:37the fact that it all sits on top of what
91. 3:39I found a really nice traction
92. 3:41rubberized outsole. It's not going to
93. 3:43have the Continental outsole that you
94. 3:45get with a lot of the higher-end Adidas
95. 3:47runners.
96. 3:48But overall looks-wise, it's got a
97. 3:49really nice chunky look to it. It's got
98. 3:51a chunky foam area towards the heel.
99. 3:53Everything about it for me just doesn't
100. 3:55say that this cost £45 and I really like
101. 3:57the look. And there's so many different
102. 3:59styles out there, so many different
103. 4:00colorways, that you can really pick how
104. 4:02you want to use it.
105. 4:03And for me, I just think this looks like
106. 4:05a really nice summer shoe, even as an
107. 4:06everyday shoe, let alone a shoe that
108. 4:08they said you can run up to 10k in. Now,
109. 4:10I want to talk more about the comfort.
110. 4:11Well, I want to put this massive
111. 4:13cloudfoam midsole to the test on my back
112. 4:15doorstep.
113. 4:32Okay, so it's about 900° while I'm
114. 4:34recording this video, so I'm probably
115. 4:35going to sweat quite a lot as the video
116. 4:37gets on. But, comfort-wise, these are um
117. 4:42for £45, I don't think Adidas could have
118. 4:44done any more. You've got a huge amount
119. 4:46of this cloudfoam midsole. It's
120. 4:47absolutely massive from underneath the
121. 4:49board of your foot all the way to the
122. 4:51heel. You can see from [music] the step
123. 4:52test, I got a really nice amount of
124. 4:53responsive give and bounce back. Now,
125. 4:55that isn't going to be like
126. 4:56[clears throat] the proper squishy
127. 4:57squishy energy return that you get from
128. 4:59a lot of the more premium midsoles from
129. 5:01Adidas and other manufacturers, but
130. 5:05this shoe you can't get any more for the
131. 5:06money. It had a really nice feel to it
132. 5:08underfoot, just the right amount of
133. 5:10responsive give and bounce back. They
134. 5:11are a little bit firm because they're
135. 5:13not super squishy, but I think as an
136. 5:15everyday lifestyle shoe, that's going to
137. 5:16be great. They're very stable. There's
138. 5:17hardly any foot roll in this at all. And
139. 5:20also, they're quite wide from the top as
140. 5:21well. So, you got a really nice amount
141. 5:23of width in the toe box, so I felt
142. 5:24really stable in these, but also felt
143. 5:26like they were just a really nice feel
144. 5:28underfoot. And then you've got on top of
145. 5:29your feet
146. 5:30huge amount of padding around the foot
147. 5:33entry hole in the heel, really nicely
148. 5:35padded tongue, and this synthetic
149. 5:36material that's kind of been webbed
150. 5:37together also feels nice on the foot.
151. 5:39When I put these on, my feet just felt
152. 5:41great because they've got a really nice
153. 5:43amount of comfort on top of your foot,
154. 5:44just the right amount of everything on
155. 5:45the bottom of your foot, and I wasn't
156. 5:47expecting that much from a £45 pair of
157. 5:49shoes, but what I got was absolutely
158. 5:50excellent. Now, fit-wise, for me, I went
159. 5:54half a size up, and that's kind of what
160. 5:55I'm doing with every pair of Adidas
161. 5:56shoes, especially runners, at the
162. 5:58moment. Um because I just feel they come
163. 6:00up a little bit small. So, in Nike
164. 6:02shoes, I'm a perfect UK size 10. This
165. 6:04Adidas shoe, I went half a size up, and
166. 6:06they fit absolutely perfectly. I've got
167. 6:08slightly wider than average feet, but
168. 6:09this toe box had a really nice amount of
169. 6:11room in it.
170. 6:12Overall, just real pleasure to have on
171. 6:14your feet. Now, I want to talk more
172. 6:15about their weight. Well, I want to put
173. 6:16them on the scales.
174. 6:25So, this is where I thought the shoes
175. 6:26were going to let themselves down. But,
176. 6:27tipping the scales at 354 g per shoe,
177. 6:30that's a great weight for a shoe that's
178. 6:32got so much going on with the midsole.
179. 6:34The midsole is absolutely massive, and
180. 6:36you've also got a lot of padding around
181. 6:37the heel and foot entry hole. So, to
182. 6:39come in at 354, when I consider a shoe
183. 6:42at around 350 and below to be
184. 6:43lightweight, and anything above like
185. 6:45above 400 is really heavy, and anything
186. 6:47below 300 is freakishly lightweight. So,
187. 6:49coming in just on the cusp of the
188. 6:52lightweight is a really great job by
189. 6:53Adidas, and I don't think that weight is
190. 6:55going to really put you off buying these
191. 6:57shoes, especially if they're going to be
192. 6:58an everyday wear or more of a a shorter
193. 7:00running shoe than like a marathon shoe.
194. 7:02Don't forget Adidas have said that these
195. 7:04are good for runs between 0 to 10k. Now,
196. 7:06I want to talk more about their
197. 7:07breathability. Well, I want to pump this
198. 7:09upper full of smoke to see how
199. 7:10breathable it is.
200. 7:29Great result in the breathability test
201. 7:30as well. You could see that this webbing
202. 7:32effect that you've got with this upper
203. 7:34has a really nice amount of perforations
204. 7:36in it. The smoke came out really nicely
205. 7:38and in large amounts on any area of the
206. 7:39shoe, especially the toe box that was
207. 7:41exposed. You got some small smoke
208. 7:43escaping from in between the Adidas
209. 7:44branding. There's nothing towards the
210. 7:46heel though because you do have this
211. 7:48extra foam detailing. But, the rest of
212. 7:50the shoe is definitely going to offer
213. 7:51you enough breathability for these
214. 7:52warmer months that are coming up. Really
215. 7:55nice breathable pair of kicks. And
216. 7:57normally I'll talk about their price,
217. 7:58but I just want to reiterate how much
218. 8:00these cost before I go into the rating.
219. 8:02These are £45 per pair, which is an
220. 8:05insane price when you consider what
221. 8:07you're getting with this shoe. And I
222. 8:08can't give them anything [music] else
223. 8:10other than five stars. They would be a
224. 8:12number one in the ratings if it wasn't
225. 8:14for the fact that the
226. 8:16the Brooks Staple Pigeon was so good.
227. 8:19These are brilliant. These are
228. 8:20absolutely brilliant, but they're just
229. 8:22not quite up there with that shoe. So,
230. 8:24coming in a second, I mean they'll
231. 8:25probably be in the top five, top 10 for
232. 8:26the rest of the year. And I
233. 8:29I just can't fault them. Like, what
234. 8:30could Adidas have done more
235. 8:32for £45, especially when the kitchen
236. 8:35shoe cost 30. I just just can't get my
237. 8:36head around it. They're really nicely
238. 8:37comfortable. They're really nicely
239. 8:39breathable. They're nice
240. 8:41They're nice in terms of budget,
241. 8:43obviously. They're nice in terms of
242. 8:44weight, and they look good. So, overall,
243. 8:46great pair of kicks. Now, if you like
